Charles and his free practice woes
I've been thinking about this since Friday and decided to put it here for everyone to see.
Charles needs to do something about his free practice crashes. He can rely on the fact that he barely needs any practice to do good in the race for only so long until this weakness starts showing in the race results.
It was said by Fred that the lack of running on the hards in free practice was part of the reason Charles couldn't match Oscar on pace on those tires. This is obviously a guess considering we don't know what would have happened if Charles had ran a race sim on Friday. However I'd rather not have doubts over what happened that to have them.
Just to make it clear I still have 110% trust in Charles and his abilities. But crashes in practice have consequences. They lose you valuable time in preparing the setup and testing the tires. (To add, especially if your teammate is not that great in providing the data).
I think this is something easy to fix. Do not push as hard in practice. It does not seem difficult does it? I've noticed lately that Charles does, for some reason, care where he ends up in practice and as much as that is a winner mentality it is sometimes his demise.
Maybe this season the small effects that these crashes have will not reflect the results as much (but what if they won if he had that running time on the hards? That's 7 points, that would be 15 on Verstappen in the wdc compared to the 8 he gained now). All I'm trying to say is, small misses like this that lead to a wrong setup or wrong understanding of the tires can lead to results that set him back in the fight. Especially if Max (or Lewis who will probably be his main opponent next year) do not have outbursts like this.
He needs to fix this. He needs to figure out the reason this keeps happening and fix it. If he just doesn't care, someone needs to remind him how crucial it can be. Not to remind you of the painful past but remember COTA 23 when he missed practice time through no fault of his own and it literally cost him everything due to a bad understanding of the tires? If a COTA happens during a wdc fight it could be fatal. Especially in a close field.
#f1#charles leclerc#im only saying this bc i know he can fix it#he just needs to realize that he has to#and yes you may say he touched the dirt it wasnt his fault.... none of the others touched the dirt#max and lewis and even lando have not even had a singular crash in fps#i think this is charles 4th this season#this is too much and these things accumulate#he not only lost fp1 but also fp2#its too mucb#rant over dont hate me please#i love charles to death and i only want the best for him and all im doing is pointing out ways he can do better

My love, is mine all mine - Max Verstappen x Norris! Reader x Charles Leclerc Part 2
Plot: Norris' Twin sister is also a driver in the 2021 line up and is in her rookie era. Not only do the commentators struggle to now talk about the pair in the race, but they also struggle to talk about talent. What happens when two drivers find her eye-catching.
After you'd spent the week at home you travelled to France, you asked McLaren to set you in a different hotel from the other drivers. You found one that was cheaper and still within a decent distance from the race track.
Your sisters in your groupchat that didn't have your bothers in, had texted you telling you Lando was getting worried you wouldn't be showing up for this race. It was Thursday and normally drivers would come to the paddock for media duties but when he came it was just him doing stuff for the F1 YouTube and being pestered by the McLaren social media teams for content.
"Zac where is she, you guys wont tell me and I'm worried she wont be here for practice which starts in 20 minutes!" Lando asks Zac whose in sat in hospitality having a pre-race coffee.
"As far as I'm aware, she's already in her car getting ready for the practice session ... so I'd get yourself down there now so you can get a good time Lando" he smiles, Lando rushed to the garage Zac slowly trailing behind him, wanting to get to the garage to get a set of headphones and sit with the race engineers.
"Y/N can you hear?" you hear through your in ears.
"Loud and clear, let me know when i can leave the pit" you say shuffling down in your seat to test the pedals.
"Nico, the pedals are feeling a little stiff, its like there's no traction" you complain as your directed out onto the pit lane.
"Okay, just do a slow lap, testing the breaks and make sure the throttle is all okay. Then we'll see if we need to bring the car in quickly before a flying lap.
As you'd gone round on a normal lap, it was determined that there was an issue with the breaks, the minute you'd tried to do the flying lap your car had major under steer. You'd managed to keep it out the gravel but you had spun out. You were called back to the pits and only placed P16.
You slammed your wheel onto the bonnet, and the engineers all immediately started to work on your car. You talked with them helping them out.
You spied Lando's car in the corner of your eyes being pulled into his half of the garage.
"Y/N hey" he says jumping out the car pulling him helmet off.
"Kinda busy trying to fix this trash can of a car right now Lando, later" you say not even sparing him a glance. Grumbles come from the mechanics making you whisper an apology as they jokingly scowl at you.
Was it petty that you weren't speaking to your brother, yes.
Was it petty that you were trying to get him to have a spoon of his own medicine for the way he'd treated you in Azerbaijan, yes.
Were you going to stop right now? Nope!
"Oh, erm okay well I'm going to go grab something to eat before the next practice" he smiles.
"Cool" you nod a smile, before kneeling down pointing something out to the mechanic that didn't look quite right.
"I'll be back in a bit, will the car be ready for FP2?" you ask.
"Should be, just needs some greasing and tightening. Trust us you'll be flying out there in no time!" the head mechanic says and you smile nodding softly before walking out towards the rest of the motorhomes.
You walked past, shyly waving to the drivers she encountered. Sky had seen her but were already busy interviewing Christian Horner and Toto Wolff who were currently talking about the championship this year and Mercedes rough start to the season in Bahrain.
"Y/N?" a voice asks from a table outside the Red Bull hospitality.
"Oh! Max, hey how have you been" you exclaim crossing over the Sky cameras who unbeknownst to you followed you for later review. You pull him into a hug, happy to finally see someone on the grid who hadn't upset you in the last few weeks.
"I'm good but i think the actual question is, are you okay?" he asks rubbing up and down your arm.
"Yeah, I just don't really know how to even talk to Lando about all of this, he's never not been there for an achievement of mine up until now. The team's strategy was shit, and I got us more points passing Lando, i was on the fresher tires, I had DRS i don't understand why they wouldn't want me to overtake" you complain, you really genuinely couldn't understand it.
It wasn't like this in Formula 2.
"You'll come to learn, that people don't like being my team-mate because im golden boy. I was the hot shot that Horner took a gamble on and he won jackpot. It's never easy being the second driver on a team to a golden boy" he advises, making you look down tears in your eyes.
Is that all Zac thought of you? The secondary to your golden boy hot shot brother.
Well that just wouldn't fly, you'll show them that your made of more and that you are worthy of sharing the seat with your brother.
"You know, keep it up Schat, Horner's been keeping an eye on you. So have Mercedes and Ferrari" Max whispers leaning in and holding your waist. You gasp as he leans back looking at you nodding before wandering off and into the Red Bull motorhome.
You check your phone for the time seeing that you really should make your way back to the McLaren garage to see if your car is ready.
"We didn't talk" you hear from behind you and a hand grabs your wrist and pulls you back to them.
Charles
"I don't want to talk to you Charles" you grunt shrugging his arm off.
"Why not?" he asks looking over you.
"I think you know why, just concentrate on FP2 Charles" you say, for the first time you see a sort of desperation in his eyes. It's almost as if he came here with the intention to say something to you, but he also doesn't want to admit it.
"Y/N... wait" he starts again but you continue walking. You manage to get back to the motorhome and see Lando sat in the hospitality, he was with his personal trainer Jon and then the performance engineer Jarv.
You walk past them and here Jarv say something to your brother.
"Go follow her, you need to sort this out before the race"
"She doesn't want to talk to me, I've tried" he groans as you wait behind the door just in earshot of them.
"You call earlier in the garage trying? Jheez man" Jon laughs before getting up and discarding of his food tray.
"Your right!" Lando sighs before jumping up to come and find you. You start to walk away so it didn't look like you were listening in to their conversation.
"Y/N, please can we talk" Lando says stopping you right by the coffee cart.
"Mmmmm"
"Look, I was terrible the other day. Your my twin and we've shared everything together. I- I'm sorry i wasn't there to celebrate with you. It's just annoying when Jon's telling me that you've been told not to go for the overtake and then you do. I see now that you taking over worked better for the team but i cant help but be upset" he tries but you look at him in shock, why on earth was he making this moment, this apology about him and how he was affected.
"How are you still making this about you?" you scoff.
"What what do you mean, I'm explaining why i wasn't there..."
"By saying that I've upset you, when I'm the person you've affected. Do you even know what they have been saying about me in articles because of this whole thing with you and Charles? I'm being told I'm a shit driver and i shouldn't have my seat and that my own brother and multiple other drivers agree... I'm being told im a danger to the sport and that I wont have a seat come next year!" you sigh, knowing that he had a right to be upset about you overtaking him, but it shouldn't be at you.
"I'm sorry, I know I ruined it. I should've celebrated with you! Its my fault" he says, before pulling you into a hug. You hug him back, your shoulders sagging into it. Your brother was always your other half, you guys were two peas in a pod. It broke your heart when he left you behind in F2 before going to F1 in 2019. So this year, being the first year that you were back driving with your brother it was special for you.
"It's not like I wont have other podiums to celebrate this year" you jab him making him laugh.
"Oh yeah, not if i have anything to say about it!" he jokes as you both start walking back to the garage.
"I'm still upset though, just so you know. But I forgive you" you smile as you both get back to the cars.
"Hey, how's the car looking?" you ask the people around your car.
"You'll be good to go, breaks are sorted and its looking good!"
And that was true, you came P3 in FP2.
You didn't have a good night sleep, thinking about Charles and how he's tried to talk to you today, how you'd made up with Lando, and you kept asking yourself if it was too quick. But what was in your mind the most was Max and what he'd told you and how he'd been so nice to you over the last few months.
FP3 the next day was worse and you came P10, which then set the mood for Qualifying, where you finished P10 which would mean that your are in the middle for starting the next day.
Lando was in P8 meaning he was directly in front of you, you were hoping you could get a slipstream from him, and overtake Fernando on the start.
By the end of the French Grand Prix you and your brother both simultaneously moved up 4 places ending with him in P5 and you in P6, Zac was happy as you'd managed to stir Ferrari and get ahead both of them.
You were walking to your car, when you notice a sleek Ferrari next to your McLaren and a familiar man leaning against it.
"Charles I really cant deal with this, the interviews have tired me out. I'll see you in Styria!" you say, clicking the keys to open your car.
"Y/N please I need to apologize" he says grabbing at you wrist again turning you round.
"Charles, look. I forgave Lando for not being at my podium and yelling at me, but you actively told me I didn't deserve my seat when i've had to work twice as hard for it than anyone on the grid. So to be told that its undeserved is horrible because this is all I've ever wanted..." you say tears brimming your eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm so so sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'll think I'll regret this forever if I don't do this" he says before grabbing your cheeks with his hands, one sliding down to your neck before leaning in and placing his lips against yours.
You kiss back, it's more out of anger, you weren't sure why you actually kissed him back. After the initial shock you pulled away, your hand slipping in between you too to push him away.
"Charles what the hell" you shout, looking at him eyes wide.
"I'm sorry, but the reason I get so annoyed with you is because I've had a crush on you for years. At first I hated that you always were better than me, I got more aggressive and you were the safer driver back then, so you'd give me room let me pass. I knew I'd never have a chance with you, getting you attention was easier when I teased you, but i guess as i got older i got more sour at you, and how everyone seemed to adore you and grab your attention apart from me" he reasons now holding her wrist again.
"Charles, you cant, you cant do that" you cry.
"What, I cant admit what I've been feeling for you for years. Y/N please" he begs, the puppy eyes looking down at you as you shrunk yourself.
"What's going on over here" Max asks coming over looking between you and Charles, you turn away so that he doesn't see the tears in your eyes, wiping them with the sleeve of your orange McLaren rain jacket.
"Nothing Max" you say before turning back round smiling at the both of them.
"Come on Y/N. I know you better than that" Max said but you decided to stay silent.
"Is he bothering you again? Charles, just leave her the fuck alone. We spoke about this after Azerbaijan..." Max says pushing him away from you.
"Max don't! Its fine I promise, I'll see you both in Austria okay?" you say getting into the car. You sit there for a second, contemplating what the hell just happened before you realize both the drivers are still stood there watching you.
What. The. Hell.
A/N: I don't know if i like this, it feels like I made her and Lando make up too quickly, and Charles felt kinda quick. But for future ideas in this series, her and Lando making up now means room for more angst in the future *wink, wink*

If I lose my mind | Ch. 8
Series summary: When you're buried under a mountain of problems and can’t seem to catch a break, it might feel like you need a complete reset. But did it really have to come with a one-way ticket to a new dimension? Surely, a little problem-solving would’ve done the trick. Or, one day you go to sleep as a normal person and the next you wake up as a Formula One driver. You've never been a fan but isn't it like, one of the most exclusive sports? Pairing: CL16, LH44, CS55, DR3 x fem!reader Chapter: Previous | Next Word Count: 5.4k Also on AO3
“Your things arrived a few days ago, the... uh, what’s it called in English? The portier?” Charles questions with furrowed brows, repeating the French word once again, much slower and carefully, so you can have a fair try at guessing its meaning
It takes you a second to give a meaning to what he is trying to say, “Is it like the one that manages the building, kind of?”, the exact word he refers to not coming to mind no matter how much you try. Your mental dictionary is running a bit low after everything went down today.
“Yeah, that’s it” he smiles at you over his shoulder, leading you out of the elevator and into a small corridor. The suitcase’s wheels clattering across the black tiles, following your path to one of the apartments’ doors, number 7 “What, you know French now?”
“No, no, I wish” you laugh, shaking your head at the possibility that you would ever understand any other word in that language “It just sounds similar to the word in Spanish, portero”
Charles opens the door before answering, a sight that leaves you open-mouthed being discovered before you. You do not know in what to focus first, if the sight of the tall buildings and the port drawn out in the floor to ceiling windows or the expensive looking furniture that decorates the rest of the room “Well, you’ve come to the best place to learn”
Because yes, you have in fact encountered the perfect opportunity to learn the language. After all you'll be living in Monaco for at least ten days before going back to the crazy life of a Formula One driver. That is enough time to grasp a bit of French or drive yourself crazy, we’ll see which one of the two comes first.
Your morning had started with a chain of events that leaned more towards the second option. You had woken up in the late morning, the warmth of the soft bedsheets and the darkness provided by the thick curtains almost fooling you into believing you had finally escaped this bizarre dream, that you were back home, and your alarm was pushing you out of bed for your practices. There would be an awful day ahead of you, but at least a real one.
But that hope was short lived.
Instead of your alarm, that ringing noise turns out to be coming from the hotel’s phone, a man on the other line animatedly informing you that this is your wakeup call and to have a great day when you pick it up. Apparently, Nick had been the one to request the service, sceptic that you would make it in time to the airport without him nagging you about it. The exact same reason why he had prepared for a car to be waiting outside for you at least an hour before, just in case.
Charles and Carlos are already waiting when you arrive to Budapest’s airport, inside a very expensive looking waiting room that hosts only the few people travelling alongside you. Yeah, it seems like flying private actually means flying private, with all the special commodities that brings. However, it also means that the first time you hear what country you are heading to is when you are strapped down to your seat and about to take off. Monaco seems alright, doesn’t it?
“He called me like, right before FP2, back in France, because a couple of suitcases had arrived for me.” Charles continues recounting the events of last Friday, inviting you in and taking the heavy bag that you insisted on carrying from you “I wasn’t expecting anything, so I almost turned them all away, all your luggage for the break! Seriously, you have to text me or something next time you send your things over...”
Mindlessly, you give in to his nagging and apologise for not warning him beforehand “Sorry, my mind’s been all over the place lately”, even if you have no idea what those things he is complaining about are or what that implication for a next time actually means. It is easier this way.
Charles seems to perfectly understand what you are saying, the confession about the hardships you have been facing holding a deeper meaning for him than you could ever fathom “I know, it’s okay”, but he does not even know half of what you are going through
After weeks upon weeks of waking up alone in a cold and unfamiliar hotel room —what little belongings you have pushed to a corner and some clothes thrown over a chair—, it is not surprising that the sight of Charles Leclerc sleepily going through the kitchen’s cabinets makes you feel all warm inside. The man is wearing a white baggy shirt and blue shorts, his hair a mess and lips pursed in concentration.
He turns around as soon as he hears you padding through the corridor, a grin slowly taking over his expression “Good morning! Did you sleep well? I didn’t wake you up, did I?”
“No no, it’s alright, I’ve been up for a while” you calm him down, walking up to the countertop and awkwardly leaning on it. Unlike him, you are already dressed up and pretty clear-headed, you never know what your mind is going to put you through in this new day. Your room is pretty far apart from the kitchen and his room too, there is no way you could have heard him with how huge huge his apartment is “And you? How did you sleep?”
“Great, it always feels nice being back home” Charles prepares the rest of the breakfast while you chat away, inviting you to sit on one of the highchairs at the other side of the countertop when you do so much as try to help him fix the dishes. He somehow knows exactly what to prepare for you, his plate and yours starkly different and yet he is not doubting a single one of his choices, as if he had done it a thousand times.
“So, what do you want to do today? I have to make a few calls but, after that, I’m all ready to go” the man explains, finally pouring himself a cup of coffee and coming to sit beside you. In response you can only give a shrug of your shoulders while you munch on the toast Charles so carefully prepared, you have no idea what is there to visit in Monaco. Thankfully, Charles has given the trip some though —well, he was bringing you to his literal hometown, how could he not?—, and in a second has your day all planned out.
The conferences take longer than expected, the driver coming to apologise over and over again when he has to shut himself off into his improvised office for another ‘final’ call. That is how the hours keep ticking by and you end up also having lunch at his apartment. “This is the last one, I promise” he swears after you both get up from the table, the leftover of two delicious dishes which appeared out of thin air, still in front of you.
You are not upset about it, not that much at least, you can understand this is his job and he needs to be on top of all these interviews and meetings —you only got a couple emails to respond and a call from Nick, but you guess this is what being in a team like Ferrari really is. Nonetheless, it does not mean it doesn’t annoy you a bit, you really had been looking forward to all the activities he had been talking to you about. Charles managed to distract you easily enough though, got you some Netflix, games and food so it all would pass in the blink of an eye.
“Oh, sixteen? That’s yours?!” you gasp, a bounce added to your step as you approach the red Formula One car placed at the entrance of the new room. The centre of your attention in a space filled with cars from every single year and brand you could ever imagine, the mirrors on the sides and covering the ceilings giving you all of the perspective of the machine.
“Of course it is, you didn’t know it was here?” Charles lets out a chuckle at your outburst, a grin now permanent on his lips as he follows you. The visit to the Prince of Monaco’s Car Collection had been worth it just for the look on your face, the fact that they kindly closed it for the two of you only adding an increased value to your reaction “They have the Alfa Romeo too”
Although you could discover what the Alfa Romeo thing meant if you moved your gaze a little bit to the left, you seemingly prefer to overlook that piece of information instead, completely entranced by the car in front of you “It looks so different...”
Possibly because everything around you is, indeed, different. After all, this is the first time you have had the opportunity to take step back and see the small details, away from the stress of the garage or the screams shaking the stands. That kind of atmosphere though, is irreplicable, the wave of emotions that fill your body as soon as you set foot into the circuit. Real or not, that is something you haven’t been able to get out of your head since this madness started.
You are unbelievable, seriously, after only two days of the break you are somehow already missing the track? Who could have told you that a month ago Wait, a month-?
“Does it? They have been making a lot of changes in the regulations lately, maybe...” Charles mumbles by your side, eyes ever so carefully looking over the car, and leaning over one of the signs on the ground, a half-smile pulling at his lips when he reads it “Oh, true, it’s the SF90! Oh my God, this one... Honestly, it wasn’t that bad of a year, I won a couple races too, but the car had so many problems. When it wasn’t the new tyres, it was the balance, then the understeering was awful at some point as well... It was just impossible to beat the Mercedes”
To finish off his explanation, Charles dismissively points with a tilt of his head to one of the Formula One cars sitting farther down the room, a Mercedes from who knows what year. Whatever, it illustrates his story just fine. Besides, this movement also allows for him to catch a peek of you from the corner of his eye, a big grin on your lips that you try to cover with a raised hand “Wait, are you laughing at me?”
“No! Of course not, I was just-” you splutter, looking up at him like a deer caught in headlights “It’s ‘cause you were, how do you say it? Like really into it? Contrated? I don’t know, I’m sorry!”
“No, no, I’m not telling you anything anymore! Go on, I’ll be quiet” Charles declares, not hearing you and acting so very much offended that you would be making fun of him. To better show his point, he starts stepping back and rises his arms to put some space between the two of you.
That is when you cannot hold you giggles anymore, the fact that he is trying to even avoid your eyes while you follow him “No, don’t say that, I promise I won’t laugh” you swear, taking a hold of his arm to stop him from walking away from you “C’mon, you’re the best tour guide!”
And maybe Charles takes that praise as a challenge, green eyes shining and cheeks full with a smile which he can’t supress no matter how hard he tries. Throughout the next few days, the Monegasque shows you the most beautiful spots of the city that saw him grow up —albeit on an intermittent basis, as he recounts the numerous trips he’s had to go on since he was a child—, a city that he adores and misses like no other. From the more touristic sites, the timetables of which he knows from A to Z and to which he has prepared private visits for each one of them, to the places that have a special place in his heart.
All of this without letting you pay a single dime, getting rejected each time you do so much as try to get your purse out, the little money you have gathered in your time in here resting inside without any prospects of ever getting spent.
It is a shame that when you are heading to one of the spots Charles has been looking forward to the most, you are caught red-handed. At first it is not as worrisome, a French fan approaches Charles for a photo and you politely step out of the way to let them take it, which catches the attention of a nearby couple that take this opportunity to ask you for a selfie —yeah, it still feels strange, even inside a dream. Maybe the husband talks a bit louder than needed about how surprised he is to see you here, or how happy he gets the moment Charles comes over to you, but after a couple of minutes you are being mobbed by half the people in Monaco. Flashes, screams and hands flying everywhere.
“It’s been a while since I last had to be rescued by the police...” Charles signs once he finally plops down on the sofa, changed into comfier clothes and the TV remote on his hand
You silently sort out the food on the small coffee table, still trying to wrap your head around what just happened, nerves tingling with the range of emotions this all brought up. It is not fear, that is something you seem to have somewhat become numb to, but something deeper. That is not something that had happened to you before, people are usually behind barriers on Grand Prixes, or they have someone better to pay attention to. This had felt truly overwhelming, suffocating even.
And yet, there it is, your lifeline. Again.
Charles’ hand comes to caress your hair after you spend a second too long in silence, hands tracing your strands as he brushes them away from your face, hand finally descending down to your neck and lightly massaging it. He had done something similar in the middle of that chaos, his hand on your arm, shoulder or back drawing tiny circles on your skin, a permanent hold that was supposed to prevent you from getting separated, but which had done so much more. “That smells great” the man whispers, leaning forward since you had chosen to knee in front of the couch.
The frown you didn’t feel forming relaxes as you look back at him, the thoughts previously swarming your head now vanished “Mm, yeah, it’s really tasty”
“What?! You’ve been stealing food while I was changing?” the Monegasque rightly accuses, disbelief painting his features
“You were taking so long!”
Charles seems to also know his way around the restaurants of Monaco, the stack of takeout you thought was way too much for two people ends up disappearing within minutes, the great amount of food you consumed leaving you to lazily lay on the couch, bellies full and watching TV after a night that had to be cut short.
The show you are watching is entertaining, you will give Charles that one, you have already gone through two and a half episodes and you can’t wait to see what happens next. It would have been even more amazing to not start it on season 3 though. It is true that Charles had started his offer to play it with a “Do you want to continue watching whatever-the-name-of-the-series-is?” and you had seen him scrolling all the way to the fourth episode of that same season without saying a word as well, but you had got accustomed to brush off things like this, like every other information from this reality that you don’t understand.
You nod and carry on with your ‘life’, that has been your modus operandi since the beginning, why change?
Thankfully, Charles gives you small explanations in the form of funny comments on every other scene, and although you don’t understand some of them, you laugh them off like anybody would do if he was looking at them the same way he does with you.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” you question at some point of the night, eyes fixed on the screen as if that could hide any of the unrecognizable feelings boiling within you
A chuckle slips out of his lips before he can begin answering, not fazed even slightly by your claim “You’re still so obsessed with the theme song...” Charles also meets your gaze straight on the moment you finally gather the courage to do so, not shying away from the way your big eyes stare at him “It’s cute”
A confession that catches you off-guard and to which your response is to smile and carry on, snuggling under a blanket which has made you slip that much closer to Charles. Summer nights in Monaco are cold.
About halfway into your vacation, Charles presents you with a different type of plan for the day “I’m going out with my mother and Arthur in a couple of hours... do you maybe want to come?” the way his green eyes look up at you in expectation betray his previous show of confidence, his gaze lowering to the toasts he is preparing.
The invite makes you stop in your track, hand half-way in the air with a piece of fruit you had tried to steal from one of the dishes. Honestly, from all the challenges you had expected this universe to throw at you today, not once would you have imagined that having lunch with Charles Lecler’s mom would be one of them, that’s for sure.
“Oh, your mother knows I’m here?” it is the stupidest question you could make, you are aware of it, but this seems so out of the blue —yes, you have apparently reached the point where jumping into a Formula One car feels more ordinary than whatever this is. But it’s because, like, you aren’t this close, are you? Yes, you flew with him, you are spending the break in his apartment, he has prepared your breakfast every single day, but-
“That you are staying here? Yeah, of course she knows” Charles answers, matter of fact, as if it was no big deal “But it’s okay, I know you get nervous with things like these, I can tell her you have a meeting or something”
Perhaps if the man had not been so understanding and given you such an easy way out, you would have accepted the outing, what is the worst that could have happened? That his mom was a wonderful person who had spent hours baking a typical pastry to gift you? If you had not felt bad enough this morning when declining Charles’ offer, now you sure were feeling like the worst person to ever walk on earth. Safe to say you almost tear up when you read the note she left you on the box: Enjoy your stay, my dear. I hope we’ll see each other soon. More so when his sons reveals he had to help her write it in English.
You miss your family that much more now, if that was possible.
Unfortunately, you do not encounter any other opportunity to meet Charles’ mother, the days flowing past you faster than you could have imagined. Charles has surprised you with organized trips to other cities near Monaco, from both Italy and France, every new sight he shows you more breathtaking than the last. The fact that this man, a Formula One driver for Ferrari nothing less, is swimming in money, taking the sweet little activities you had thought about to a whole other level.
Nonetheless, spending a bit more also becomes a need when you are trying to keep a low profile, neither of you want a repeat of what happened in Montecarlo —for more reasons than because it is dangerous. Which means that booking private terraces to watch the view is sometimes required, other times you get a tour through a closed section of the museum solely because they recognized him, or you, which is still something you are struggling to come to terms with, but you can’t complain.
Tonight, to properly finish off your stay in the country, Charles has invited you out to a fancy restaurant. It is built in the outskirts of Monaco, a place where the waves of the ocean are louder than the noises of the city. You get seated in open space that overlooks the sea, the quiet and elegant atmosphere of the place captivating you. You are thankful to whoever had prepared those suitcases which arrived at the apartment before you even knew you were visiting, because the black satin dress that was waiting for you inside one of them, is the perfect fit for the occasion.
The hunt for the perfect outfit had also brought a discovery that you couldn’t quite believe yet. Inside a white jewellery box that you had been carrying since the beginning and that you had not cared to open until today, you had found one of the most important pieces you ever owned, one you had been missing dearly: your grandmother’s favourite necklace. It had been a gift given to you many years ago, your grandmother’s promises of how it would make your wishes come true and protect you still echoing in your ears. Upon its discovery, you heart had skipped several beats, your hand snatching it from the box faster than you could think about it to bring it close to your chest, a place where it now proudly rested and that it would not ever leave again.
The only piece of a reality which appears evermore distant and unreachable each passing day.
The dinner is spent chatting away and tasting delicious dishes that you cannot pronounce the name of, your knight in shining armour —in this case, a navy-blue suit that fits him like a glove— saving you time and time again from embarrassing yourself trying. That gesture in itself being a blessing in disguise. It is fascinating watching Charles talk in French, sounding ever so charming speaking words you do not understand, his voice and demeanour changing when talking in his mother tongue. You have not learned a word in French, but if the hours you have spent staring at Charles talking counted, you would have the highest level.
That is some of the nonsense you keep thinking about in the way back to the apartment, your body comfortably relaxing back into the passenger seat of his Ferrari while the city lights keep flowing by your sides. The Monegasque takes his hand off the gearstick after reaching a red light, resting it atop your knee and gently squeezing it when you don’t peel your eyes off the window.
“Sleepy?” he queries in a soft voice, amused.
You shake your head in response, the “No” slipping from your lips too low to even hear it yourself. Your hand reflexively comes down to wrap around his in reassurance, an act which only manages to further confirm his suspicions.
Charles walks to your side to help you out of the car, the excuse of being sleepy —although the expensive wine and your high heels are playing a big role in your clumsy walk— useful enough for you to hold onto his arm in the way up to his apartment. The silence is nice too, calming despite the fact that it is hiding so many thoughts behind.
“So, did you have fun?” Charles is the first one to speak once you reach the parting point, even if it is only the middle of his living room and there is still time tomorrow before he takes you to the airport, it feels more important than that
“Yeah, I did, a lot. Thank you, Charles, for everything” you respond, the words coming straight from your heart, you are grateful for not only the material part of this vacation, but for how comfortable he has made you feel in this unknown reality. The man has truly made of your trip to Monaco an unforgettable experience, a memory that you will forever cherish. You hope he understand that.
Although he tries to downplay it, say how much of a good time he has had thanks to you and all of that, you are quick to shush him, repeating your thanks and not accepting any of the justifications he’s give. And he somehow lets you get away with it, that easily, a fond smile pulling at his lips while he looks down at you “Okay, okay... I’m just happy you are here, honestly”
Charles word’s startle you, your heart speeding to a hundred miles per hour in just a second. The man ignites this inexplicable feeling inside of you, one so familiar and foreign at the same time, slowly building inside of you, a warmth that threatens to overcome you at any second if you let it. This silence and closeness not helping you in the slightest.
Paired with these thoughts come other less comforting ones, a more logical part that warns you that you have been letting this go on for too long. You let your hold on Charles’s arm fall, instinctively taking a step back. This is too much, the wine must have been playing with your head, you have let this go on for over time and-
However, Charles doesn’t seem to agree with any of the thoughts boiling in your head, his hand following the movements of yours and catching it halfway, his fingers intertwining with yours. Not ready to let you go just yet. He can see the gears turning at full force inside your mind as well, hopes the gesture will stop you from overthinking it all and focus solely on this.
For you though, that train of thought isn’t as easy to reach, even less so when his touch has set your nerves alight. “Oh, yeah, me too! Well-, I mean, I’m happy to be here. The first day I thought I wouldn’t even see you in all ten days, but it’s been great ever since, I promise!” the tension of the moment is too much to handle, and it forces the first stupidity that comes to your mind out to break it
Charles tilts his head to the side, taking some extra time to process what you said “What?”
Sadly, instead of simply waiting for him to interpret your babbling, your big mouth keeps on talking “You were working, I completely understand! I mean, you’re in Ferrari, of course... I just got nervous at first, that’s all”
“Oh” the Monegasque simply says, his face void of any emotion as he watches you freaking out thinking you’ve upset him. You and your stupid brain that keeps making up excuses for a joke you had told to ease the tension, you should start thinking twice about it. The wine has also loosed up your tongue.
At some point Charles decides it is time to have some mercy on you and stop your monologue, a big grin making his eyes crinkle before he is using his hold on your hand to bring you in for a big hug — what a nice way to ask you to shut up.
“Seriously, this is driving me crazy...” he confesses with a giggle, tightening his arms around your body as you deflate in his hold, letting go of all the nerves that had so suddenly preyed on you “You know what happened? I prepared everything, arranged some visits and talked to some people, everything! And I thought: I’ll push all the meetings I have to Monday and Tuesday, so they won’t bother us at all, she’ll probably sleep until, like 2 p. m.” Charles narrates the plan he had so carefully drawn up for your visit, making a pause to lean back and see your reaction to all that happened behind the scenes before you came to the country “Well, turns out that someone, even after driving for 70 whole laps in Hungary and having not slept at all during the flight, just decided to wake up at 8 in the morning! Who does that?”
The belly laugh that escapes you is loud, cheeks hurting from the big smile that has managed to take over your face throughout Charles’ story, his expressions and gestures depicting how much it had surprised him to see you walking down the hall that morning. All dressed up and ready for the day, if you may add.
“Why do you think I took you to the Prince’s Car Collection that day? I thought, since she’s been pestering me for months about it, maybe that’ll make her forget she’s been locked away all morning”
“Aw, that’s so nice!” you compliment him, elongating the syllables and swaying him from side to side to further support your words, your hands still resting on his chest and his having claimed their place at your sides. You do not remember ever talking about the collection, but that is something that does not matter right now "You've been a great tour guide"
“I really am nice” Charles affirms with a smirk, like he cannot believe you didn't find that out earlier, and you can only nod at him in agreement. He has been nothing but amazing in the time you have known each other, you’ll give him that. "I don't know about the tour guide part though, you've been only laughing at me..."
You playfully hit his chest, smiles turning to giggles that give way to a comfortable silence, a moment to relax. Happiness is spilling out of every single pore of your skin as you look at each other with a silly grin on your lips, eyes analysing every feature of the other’s face and committing it to memory as if they were about to vanish in time. A strong hold on each other just in case.
You can see Charles debating wether to break the silence or not, a soft frown set in between his eyebrows while his eyes search for a sign in yours. His lips are pursed, the words that had been stuck in his mind for a while now about to finally be pronounced. However, a strange music beats him to it.
It promptly steals your attention from him, moment broken. Your head turns to the sound, recognizing where it seems to be coming from... your bedroom?
As if hypnotised, you step away from Charles, the Monegasque letting you go from his hold without putting up much of a fight —although he desperately wants to. Something inside of you pulling you towards the sound. The steps you take to the room seem endless, the heels clicking on the hardwood following your path and the noise getting louder, but when you open the door it all happens so fast. You somehow know exactly where it is coming from, hands digging with urgency inside the backpack you had taken to airport 10 days ago. Having come to kneel on the ground, you pull out a cloth bag and lay it out beside you, the realization that it is the same one Nick left for you in Hungary’s hotel and you had not even opened, being too vague for you to fully grasp it.
The music is louder now, your ears ringing with the stupid rhythm when you finally decide to empty all of its contents out on the floor for easier access. You find a lip balm, earphones, some papers and buried under all of it: a phone.
Another one. A phone you had never seen, the one Nick gave you at the start of this madness still secure in your bag. Where did it come from? Nick had said the bag contained the stuff you left behind at the track, but you sure as hell did not leave this.
You watch your hand stretching towards the device in slow motion, your mind pushing you forward but getting no response in return. The screen is upside down, the case vibrating against the floor and joining the cacophony of sounds that has been bouncing off your ears, a feeling of being underwater so awfully recognizable that you get dizzy just thinking about the last time you endured its consequences. The necklace burning in your chest.
What is this phone? Who is calling?
Your fingers tingle at the touch, the device turning in your hold ever so slowly to reveal the caller screen. At the top, written in big bold letters reads the contact's name you have been longing to see for so long:
DAD
A due reminder that none of this is real.
Author's note: Omg, this is so long, I got carried the fuck away with this one. As you have probably noticed it is not even proofread, if I keep it in my drafts any longer I'll keep adding to it. It ended up being as a kind of Charles' one shot thing so I hope you all enjoyed it. As always, any kind of interaction is greatly appreciated, thank you all so much for reading!
Also happy New Year to everyone!! This was supposed to be my Christmas present to all of you but it just kept going out of control.

just ~observations~ and thoughts but i wonder if the planned announcement of lewis going to ferrari happening later in the season would have changed his mentality as to how he takes the weekend. part of me says yes and part of me says no. like, lewis has noticeably turned down the heat in how he approaches his weekend in the last three years and gives the appearance of caring a lot less. lewis in general just doesn't preform to his peak when he wants to so there's historical precedence for it. but also, his lack of caring could also be a response to merc basically knowing in feb that he wasn't gonna be around and therefore he feels like he shouldn't be investing energy when they aren't doing the same for him (which i don't think either side is wrong). but also, george has kinda whipped up on lewis overall in the last three years so either george is much better than people think he is, or lewis is in for a rude awakening with charles.
A few things u said I wanna comment on. Im p sure the switch to Ferrari had to be on the table at least since May 2023. I'm mentioning that because 2023 wasnt a 'good' year for Lewis but it was definitely better than 2022 in all direct battles wid George, except for qualifying where he equaled George 11-11. Lewis was more consistent, had better pace, managed his weekends better, to the point he almost got Checo for p2 in the standings ((George finished p8)) So like, when u say that George been 'whipping' him up for 3 years ((and pls don't say it like that. I'm sorry I just. use any other word next time 😭)) its not really true. Also we're talking about a car that for a long time didn't even follow a basic development path because the base concept was wrong.
BUT heres where it gets tricky and I absolutely agree wid u: in 2022, complete no man's land for Merc, we still saw Lewis get the edge over George most Saturdays, 13-9. So even tho he improved in most areas in 2023 when the car got a lil better, u can still observe that downwards trend in quali performance. That's why its not that surprising to c the same happening this season, since it has been getting worse for 2 years, but at the same time, its one thing to lose sometimes and another to be down 8-1 in Canada. Canada is pure Hamilton country if he still cant put a q3 lap together here then somethings definitely wrong wid how he approaches q3. Ik he said some shit in Monaco like he doesnt expect to be in front of George for the rest of the season but that's like .. least inflammatory lew hammy statement and u kinda have to be like ok girl whtvr the fuck that means. But when ur coming out of a dominant fp1, fp2 and fp3, continuous improvement from q1 to q2, IN CANADA, and still lose .280 in q3, shit ton of corrections, no grip, then like .. I'm getting a lil worried. I very much doubt Lewis gets to Ferrari after a full season of this bullshit and whtvr he's dealing wid in quali just magically disappears. I hope Im wrong but idk . I really dunno. Regarding George being 'better than people think he is' or Lewis having a 'rude awakening' wid sharl like idk if its all that. Part of what makes this gap in quali so baffling is that so far its yet to translate to race pace. Lewis still drives an exceptional Sunday. f1 is a political nightmare I'm not 1 for conspiracies but nobody can deny there's a disconnect between Lewis and Merc that can be traced back to 2022 and never really healed. When it comes to a good q3 lap tho u either make it happen or u don't. Nothing really more to say.

my top 3 race predictions were
1. Max. 2. Lando. 3. Oscar or just 1 and 2 switched w Oscar at 3
BUT I AM SO HAPPY FOR LANDO!!! He needed this win; esp in terms of motivation and to combat all the negativity he faced in the latter part of the first half of the season.
Leclerc was such a wild card to me 😭😭 he did incredibly well and barely let Oscar pass him which is soo impressive w the livery he has.
Sainz overtake game was insane too omg
Max did well its just a shame his car seems to be falling behind
And not to be a hater but even tho Perez did well I think most people are tired of him being in the RB seat....me included.
Really do not understand how people say this race was boring...so many great moments and even fp1, fp2, and qualis were good!!
Loved this weekend 🤭🤭🤭 cannot wait for the next one
Wbu??? Overall thoughts?
THIS RACE WEEKEND WAS SO GOOD BUT EVERYONE ELSE IS SAYING HOW BORING IT WAS I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT :(((
i had the same perditions when it came to the 3 as you! Especially when lando lost his position in the beginning 😭
2. YES YES YES LANDO NEEDED THIS WIN. i think it will boost his morale a lot (especially after what that podcast guy said which honestly should have been kept private).
3. It wasn’t just Leclerc but both of the Ferrari’s were wonderful today considering how poorly(?) they started this week. super proud of them both!! their overtakes were top notch!
4. Going onto the Red Bulls, i was very surprised by how quickly Max fell but Max still did very well as usual.
5. With all honesty on my side, and no hate to Checo, I think they should let him go. He costed Red Bull so much money and I think it’s starting to drag them down a bit. That’s not saying he wasn’t a good teammate or driver because him and Max do work good together and he is great! But I think his time in Red Bull is coming to a end.
6. It was a overall fun weekend for me!! But now SOME Red Bull fans are saying the McLarens are illegal because of the gap??? I think it’s such a stupid thing to say because when it was them last season it was okay??? 🤨
Again, I loved this weekend and I hope there is more like this to come!!

SPOILERFUL Thoughts on Freedom Planet 2.
It’s like 5am and I’m awake and thinking about FP2. I kinda love this game. I love it enough to have gone through 2 of the 4 campaigns and am happy to start the next. Gameplay is crisp and fun, some of the best I’ve had with an action orientated 2D platformer. The art is gorgeous and the writing is charming in a Saturday morning cartoon kind of way without feeling too much like it’s trying too hard (except Mayor Zhao, fanfare a bit too much and under utilized, but that’s personal preference talking) which is refreshing. It even manages to be somewhat mostly respectful to the concepts it portrays, namely tackling the messy concept of colonialism and its effects through the ages. It’s sanitized to an extent, but not at all brushed to the side and is treated with enough respect an acknowledgement that it doesn’t come off as sympathetic to the current powers. That, however, is an entirely different blog for someone more knowledgeable on the subject, and not what I’m thinking about.
What I’m thinking about is the first playthrough I did with a character I really liked at first. After that and the second playthrough with Lilac, I feel that she is severely held back in her potential. I was also not prepared for how much of a cop (derogatory) she was.
I’m talking about Neera.
So, her design whips and her gameplay is fun. Her whole deal is she’s a peacekeeper and advisor under direct command of the current major power of the the world, the Magister of Shang Tu, and is fiercely protective of her home and people. With the game’s main antagonist Merga sharing a similar mantra, she’s set up to be connected as such. This kind of doesn’t land and makes her seem more like the sideline protagonist the other three members of the playable group treat her like, which in itself is an interesting concept.
In the first game she was a boss, an obstacle for the other three. Now she’s thrown in awkwardly with them to stop a common foe and since she’s new, brushes up against the other three’s more carefree nature. That in itself is interesting enough. The actions of someone dedicated to her home Shang Tu, the ruling power whose leaders did do an oopsie woopsie fucking colonialism that they changed history of centuries ago but has since then mellowed out and isn’t that any more, is a perfect blueprint for some good ol’ “are my ideals correct” action.
Her duty rubs up against the other three in some interesting ways too, though here lies the missed opportunity. She composes herself too quickly, and the others just shrug their shoulders and run with it. She literally threatens to kill one member and it’s played off as a joke. In the grand scheme of things, her ideals aren’t really challenged, rather just tested on easy mode. ‘Is it correct to protect my people from someone wanting to essentially destroy the planet?’ Obviously yes. ‘Is it okay to do it by any means necessary?’ Uh... not really? Unfortunately, that is the extent of it, and it feels wrong given the gravity of the Shang Tusians ignorance to the attrocities of the past.
The Game plays out in three acts. The first two have a system where you select an episode out of three, which then forces you into a series of levels ending in a major plot point. The choice exists to break up the linear nature a little, and honestly it’s welcome. However the problem arises that these plot points have to be developed in a way that would make sense for them to be done out of order. There are moments in the main story where single members break off from the group to pursue their own goals. Carol runs off to convince her sister to not do something dumb, Milla has a run in with Serpentine from the old game and wrestles with her origin and Lilac decides to go alone to confront Merga, as she and her are the only water dragons remaining on the entire planet. This is marred slightly by the fact that the game still has to run with the episodes, and the levels and scenarios still play out the same only with different dialogue. Neera doesn’t have this. Her foil is built up to be the treacherous Askal, but in the end it doesn’t quite land as she doesn’t have a moment where she breaks off to stop him, and EVERYONE basically has the same fight with him. In the first game, there were different levels for different characters, albeit only three instead of four. This game doesn’t take advantage of that, and while it works fine, the story never fully reaches a level of threat and drama it desperately tries to show. It is here that I reveal who I feel should have been Neera’s foil:
This idiot. This absolute goober. This dumbass who isn’t even used in the final levels onboard Bakunawa. I definitely feel this game needed some level mixup among characters. The jungle assault could have been mandatory, and solidified the intent to break up the characters for a spell (with Carol observing from a distance on her way to confront her sister), since tensions are high after Carol’s departure. Admittedly Milla’s moment could have been in the first act where she encounters Serpentine again, but she and Lilac can work together in this, as there’s a point where Milla and Neera argue about the destruction of the jungle.
At that point Neera could have absolutely splintered off, as she’s already had to deal with a traitor Askal, a deserter Carol and now a teenage Milla questioning the purity of her resolve, with Lilac taking Milla’s side (who’s already gone off at Neera for dubbing Carol a traitor). Kalaw at this point is setting up beacons around the island they’re on to do... something, but the group decide it’s wrong and go after him. It’s a halfway point in one of the episodes in act two, and I feel it is not the best send off for one of the most charismatic and interesting villains who’s trying to be a hero. When defeated, he goes mask off, he admits to it when the characters accuse him of cosplaying as a hero, and he truthfully and desperately WANTS to be one, thus is moved by the very real injustice that Merga went through. He is still misguided and he can realise that, but the moment Neera is all high and mighty about it, he could have slammed her with the truth that she was willing to ruin an entire country’s ecosystem, HIS people, to save her own people, making her mission dangerously similar to Merga’s intentions. This could have been Neera’s personal level, where the Magister questions Kalaw truly wanting to save Parusa, and Neera, already frustrated, goes after him with the intent to simply stop him, not discern his intentions.
Once those intentions are revealed, it could be a real moment where she realises the shit she feeds herself, the nationalism that poisons her world view. The exclamation point would have been when her own Magister, her superior, tells her what she believes in is just, but ultimately wrong, which again happens, but was going to happen regardless of Neera’s own worldview changing or not.. In the end, everyone has a piece to say about Merga’s intentions to her face after they defeat her. Neera could have empathised in a way that admits that, in a different life, if the roles were reversed, she would have absolutely done the same. The difference is that she had people to tell her no, and enough failures under her belt to humble her. She could have been flawed as hell, but ready to change. It’s there, but it’s not quite been built up enough, and that unfortunately could be a flaw of the game’s linear design.
Game dev is hard though. What we have is a pretty alright, cohesive and interesting enough story wrapped in solid and exciting gameplay. It’s fantastic overall, but I feel it could have been pushed to extraordinary if the game let the story really get into that personal shit.
As for the future, I don’t want a Freedom Planet 3. I want that DLC where you’re limited to two characters, to wrap up Merga’s arc alongside Lilac. To see the adventure of one of the two remaining water dragons on the entire planet desperately trying to find closure, would be beautiful. Also, Merga I imagine being turbo Lilac, would be sick to control.
But yeah, my thoughts on what I feel is missed potential in an otherwise incredible experience. I’m gonna eat. Laters!

Its definitely not like Bahrain Friday practice pace-setter Verstappen braced for very close fight in Saudi Arabia
Max Verstappen believes Red Bull will be given a tougher test by their rivals at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, playing down his table-topping display on the opening day of practice. Verstappen led both of Friday’s practice sessions around the rapid Jeddah Corniche Circuit to build on his pole position and dominant victory at the season opener in Bahrain a fortnight ago. READ MORE: Dominant Verstappen leads Alonso at second practice session in Jeddah as track ramps up However, despite his and Red Bull’s storming start to the new campaign, Verstappen says he will be keeping his eyes on the likes of Aston Martin, Ferrari and Mercedes as this weekend’s action develops. “I think we had a positive day, but I think there are still quite a few things we can do better,” the two-time world champion commented after his day at the wheel. “[On] the long run I think it all seemed fairly close to each other, but it’s more just managing the tyres, because they don’t really let you push around here at the moment.” Highlighting the differences between the first two venues on the 2023 calendar, and why he is so mindful of Red Bull’s rivals, Verstappen signed off: “With a low-deg circuit, I think the lap times are all very close, so it’s definitely not like Bahrain.” On the other side of the Red Bull garage, Sergio Perez slotted into third position in FP2 – behind Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin – as he managed an unspecified technical problem. READ MORE: Perez hopeful of taking the fight to Verstappen in Saudi Arabia amid ‘very fine margins’ at front of the F1 grid “We had a bit of an issue with the car mechanically, which hopefully we are able to sort it out for tomorrow, and that will bring us a bit more pace hopefully,” Perez explained. “At least we can have a better idea of where the car is. It was a bit of inconsistency and difficult to get a proper rhythm today. Overall, we seem to be strong, but the competition is there, as expected.” Asked if Verstappen was his biggest rival this weekend, Perez added: “Well, hopefully, hopefully yes! That will mean we are in a very strong position. But I do expect a few of the rival teams to step up tomorrow.” via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

I’m the one who wrote this and you really don’t get anything. He’s not a perfect person and I understand why the use of mongol does offend you, but here’s a couple points.
1) Saying a man isn’t usually racist DOES NOT make you racist. Unless he said he agreed or what he said wasn’t racist at all, then he isn’t racist
2) yes, I’m a poc who defended him, but saying I did it because I want him to have gay sex is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. I don’t like shipping and it’s so stupid of you to think everyone who defends him does it because of that reason
3) it is about being racist because that’s what your whole post was accusing him of. You literally said that he has been openly racist, admitted to being racist, and has said the N-word many times. You have no proof of him doing any of this. All you rely on is your word, and when people tell you that he isn’t being racist, you just say “no, he is.”
You have no leg to stand on anymore. You can’t just come on the site, lie about a man being racist, make it about something else, refuse to give any more proof on how he was racist, and then say people only wanted to defend him because they want him to have gay sex. at first, I was just assuming that you didn’t know you were in the wrong, but now I think you’re outright mental. You seriously need to think about this. Because some people are giving you genuine logic and facts, and all you say is “no, he is a racist, because I said so” I know that’s not exactly what you said, but that’s basically what everyone is getting.
If he has admitted to being racist, show proof. If he has said the N-word multiple times, as you’ve said in your tags, show proof. If he is as openly racist as you say, show proof. There’s no such thing as people being perfect, and I’m not saying that he hasn’t done some very shitty things, But he has changed from that time and is trying to become a better person. Yes, he has said some ablest slurs, but not once. Has he ever been racist like you accused him of, but you’re not gonna see that. You refuse to see what you wanna see, and read anything but what you wanna read. I sincerely hope that you take time off of this app and get some help because obviously you need it.
There's nothing more you can make of that. I think the wording that was used, even with the different kind of cultures and things they probably said when they were younger, was not correct.
"Let it be a lesson for the future not to use that word because it's very offensive, especially nowadays it gains more traction."

[caption id="attachment_1475" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts[/caption] Source Singapore 2023 was Carlos Sainz Jr his second win at a Grand Prix but as he very well mention this is his first "Smooth Operation", Carlos IQ went through the roof as he on purpose made Lando Norris defend the front row for him, in this case it was Carlos Sainz getting away when he needed to keep the gap against Lando but on those slow corners giving it back so he could defend his position, at the same time hold up the Mercedes cars; with DRS, I would say that the only two other drivers that have this mind set on the grid are Fernando Alonso, George Russell, Alex Albon and Checo Perez, for the rest of the grid there are very individualist drivers, yes its a sport that you have to be that way to stay on top but this time Carlos Sainz proof its not all the time you need to race just the guy behind/front of you. Ferrari, their car is improving by a lot and as I expected since last year, the superior driver will be Carlos Sainz once he had the car suit him, all Leclerc had before was a fast car design around him, some may say the same thing from Red Bull Racing where the car is design for Max but it is what it is for every second driver on most teams, Sainz all 2022 and 2023 has demonstrate to be the most cold head and smart driver from the two, in Ferrari there is no democracy, its straight dictatorship and it would not be a surprise if we see the team turn the table for Leclerc, after all F1 is a sport where money talks, sports of billions and every single team on the grid is there to win and make a ton of money, as for the car it does look a different animal since Monza, they still have degradation problems but not as bad as before. Over all this is what every Formula 1 driver wants to see, top five cars battling out, I'm not a fan of Verstappen iron fist ruling, its just boring, now that we got McLaren and Ferrari in the Mix is way more interesting and I'm not falling sleep half the race. I have said before, I'm not a Ferrari fan, even if Red Bull Racing got it right Ferrari was still a strong car during the weekend, I thought tradition would continue as Ferrari is for a the most part a one lap car. https://leofinance.io/threads/view/skiptvads/re-leothreads-2p7fs2rqx Here a comment I made on Friday about Ferrari been the two fastest during FP2 [caption id="attachment_1479" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source In my personal opinion another driver that did great in Singapore GP was George Russell, after a brilliant/lucky pit stop to put up Medium Compound Tires 2023 (Yellow) after Esteban Ocon car broke down on lap 44 , on this shot he clips the wall right at the corner of this banner but you cant tell how close he was and then broke the right front arm of the car, got no steering so goes into the wall, small mistakes that can end the race in any second but that's just part of the game, during this time Russell was in a lot of pressure from Hamilton, all this happening on the last lap to finis the race. [caption id="attachment_1483" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source The most obvious question is, What Happen to Red Bull Racing?, from my understanding their setup was totally wrong, the car would not turn, the car had no grip, you could see how many times the rear complains and basically drift when either Max or Checo demand power, this was not a driver problem, both drivers could not make it to Q3 having same grip difficulties, the resurface areas of the track didn't help them but this was the same for all teams. [caption id="attachment_1484" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption]
Source [caption id="attachment_1485" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source In my opinion Red Bull Racing took the wrong approach as trying to reverse changes like rear wing and new floor from the car on a track that have change and so did the car, its not the same car from 2022 and both Max and Checo are not the same drivers, specially how Max has dominated the car for the entire year, going back and forward with parts thinking that could be the problem puts them in a position probably of guessing without much time to proof their theories, the team already knew Singapore GP was a race the will have problems based on simulation, from what I have read online their suspension was too soft for this track, not sure if they made such extreme changes where the bumps of the make the car loose grip either when the suspension expands or contracts making the car to bottom out, probably if they had not change the car a bit from Italy they would have perform better. This was not a car design problem nor a driver problem, it was their setup, Red Bull Racing have done a lot more than other teams in history of Formula 1, the only thing that end their winning streak was themself have the car setup so wrong for this race. [caption id="attachment_1486" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source With ten laps to go Sainz radio was "Gap to Lando every lap", this was on lap 57 after they were notified Mercedes had new Mediums, closing the gap, not only this tells how smart Sainz was to use Lando as his main defense weapon but how good the McLaren is, this is probably a moment Lando has been waiting for a very long time, McLaren finally has a car with a winning shot to win a race, since Silverstone their car finally wake up and drivers like Piastri and Lando show the world how now their car is a true contender to win races so things are not as easy as before for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, yes in Monza they won by a six second gap that could be more and Checo did a good race too for the one two but still things are changing, there still 2025 with the same car concept, who knows if they could keep improving their car but the truth is that Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari are improving too, even at Qualifying you have one lap cars like the Williams with Alex Albon improving by a lot. in all of this britcedes goodness I almost forgot about Formula E FP1! Very happy with how it's going yeeaaahhh let's hope Jaguar will keep its rhythm and Maserati improve a lil bit their own. (I'm still purposefully ignoring Dicktum existence, yes)
I watched FP1 yesterday and I just put on FP2 and I’m only watching on YouTube and I need to rant about how awful the onscreen graphics are. The timing tower is legit unreadable which is annoying!
It’ll be interesting to see if things are as up and down as last year or whether Andretti will keep their momentum from the last round. Nio are quite fast in FP2 so far but FP1 was more representative of the conditions so… 🤷🏼♀️

Post-Race McLaren Strategy Analysis
Foreword: Y’all know me, I try to make sure I know everything I can before I actually say anything, and this analysis took me nearly 5 hours last night. I didn’t go to bed until like 3am because I was so busy double-checking all my facts lmao. Special thanks to @imthebadguyyy & my dad for being my test readers :)))
During the Dutch Grand Prix Race Session this past Sunday, September 5th, 2021, McLaren made some strategy calls that presented as the team favoring Lando over Daniel. The opinion that came to light was that McLaren were making Daniel into the secondary driver, which is something he had come to the team in hopes of avoiding. This opinion, while it is a valid one to express, isn’t one that holds much water when you zoom out from the context of that set of radio transmissions.
McLaren is a midfield team. They aren’t focused on winning the championship; just on getting the highest place they can in order to get the most money. Their best chance of doing that is by ensuring they get the most points out of each race.
Despite the fact that Lando has been with McLaren for five years now, he isn’t their number one driver; McLaren doesn’t have one. They can’t if they want to maximize their opportunity for points. What they can do, though, is prioritize whoever is consistently delivering the better results on a week-by-week basis. Thus far, that driver just happens to be Lando. Which makes sense, considering that Daniel is just starting to really feel comfortable in the MCL35M.
Lando has felt more comfortable in the car over the course of the 2021 season. An obvious explanation for this is that Lando has been with the team since 2017, where he signed as a Junior Driver, and has had much longer to adapt his driving style to the car. This is Daniel’s first year with McLaren. His previous seasons have been spent, for the most part, in a RedBull-designed car. Even when he was at Renault, it was expressed that the cars handled very similarly to a RedBull. The MCL35M, as he has expressed, handles very differently than what he had grown accustomed to, and doesn’t particularly seem to fit his driving style. As the 2021 season has progressed, however, Daniel has shown he has made progress in adapting to the car.
Comparing qualifying results to race results, Daniel has consistently started further back on the grid. This puts him at a disadvantage from a points strategy perspective. The further back you are, the harder you have to work to gain places over the course of a race. I’m not saying he’s incapable of gaining those places back; he’s shown quite the opposite actually, most notably in Portugal and Austria this season with a 7-place jump from 16th to 9th and a 6-place jump from 13th to 7th, respectively. What I am saying is that if you’re not comfortable in the car, or you’re at a track where overtaking is nigh-impossible, or you’re already close enough to the points to get there on your own, team strategy may not fall in your favor.
But despite his difficulties adjusting to the car, Daniel is in no danger of dropping off and playing second fiddle to Lando like you all suggest. Daniel is a talented driver. If he wasn’t, would he really still be in the sport after a decade? Would McLaren have followed him for years, determined to add him to the team? His move to McLaren, while still in its adjustment period, is one that’s beneficial and positive for all parties involved. Lando may have talent and skill, as clearly shown by his F3 Championship title and frankly outstanding performance the past couple seasons (4 podiums, a front row start, most consecutive points finishes), but he’s still very young. This is only his third year in Formula 1, and he’s only older than me by three years. Compare that to Daniel, who’s been competing in Formula 1 for ten years now, was a driver for one of the two top teams for over half of his career (7 years, counting Toro Rosso), and placed 3rd in the WDC for said team twice in 2014 & 2016. Do you seriously think that McLaren gives him a multimillion dollar paycheck because they want him to play racetrack bodyguard for Lando?
Bringing in someone like Daniel, who has years of training, skill, and knowledge, and an invaluable perspective on not only racing, but on one of the title contenders, is a major asset to all aspects of the team. Sure, he may be new to McLaren, but he is a long way off being new to racing.
Was the strategy this weekend arguably a hot mess? Oh, absolutely. But it wasn’t a one-team phenomenon. Strategy overall this weekend has been all over the place, and I kinda see why. We haven’t raced at Zandvoort since 1985, when the track itself and the cars were much, much different. You can’t really go off of race strategy from the mid-80’s when the track did not include the bankings it currently has and when the car and tyre specifications have changed drastically. Everyone was basically flying in blind.
What the teams could rely on, was all the data they were getting from practice sessions (even if every single one was red-flagged at some point). And the data that McLaren was receiving likely suggested that Lando would be a stronger contender for points, based on comparative lap pace alone.
Over the course of 18 laps in FP1, Lando’s lap time was quicker than Daniel’s by 0.402s, or an average of 4/10ths.
Over the course of FP2, where Lando ran two more laps than Daniel, Lando’s lap time was quicker than Daniel’s by 0.669s, or nearly 7/10ths.
Over the course of 19 laps in FP3, Lando’s lap time was quicker than Daniel’s by 0.232s, or an average of 2/10ths.
During Qualifying, Daniel actually had the faster lap time, pulling an even 0.24s on Lando, and only just squeezed his way into Q3.
The gap between Lando (P13) and George (P11) was 0.074s. That is a tiny gap to cover, and had there not been a red flag to close out Q2, I feel like Lando could have easily cinched a Top 10 start.
During the race, did the strategy of McLaren look as if it was all being done in the favor of Lando? Yes, it kinda did. But when you look at things like race pace, tyre degradation, and what other teams are doing, it’s not necessarily difficult to see why. Over the course of the weekend, Lando consistently put out faster lap times and gained three places on his own during Lap 29, when the three cars in front of him all decided to pit at once. And yes, Daniel did pit first out of the two McLarens, but he was going to have to do so anyway. He started the race on the set of Softs he ran during Qualifying, and Lando started on Mediums. Mediums last longer than Softs. Later in the race, it looked as though Lando had the pace to push past the Alpine cars ahead of him & Daniel, so a call was made to basically switch the two of them around. From what I saw, this call is what made people the most upset. I, as a big fan of both drivers, was also upset at the time, as it felt strange to not just have Daniel try to gain places he was already closer to. But the longer I put thought and research into this analysis, the more I think I see what they were trying to do.
Had this moment of strategy been implemented a few laps earlier, and had it gone according to plan, Daniel could have held off Checo until Lando passed them both (making it a P9/P10), then followed Lando until he got around Esteban and then try and take his shot as Esteban as well (which could’ve given them a P8/P10 or P8/P9). At no point does this potential line of strategy truly favor either driver. Now, obviously I do not work for McLaren and have no true insight into their plans, but this is simply what made the most sense. Have the driver who’s already there hold off the car in between until the other driver can overtake/pass, and then have the first driver follow behind until there’s an opening to make the same move on the next car. Easy points, easy money!
But, mistakes were made. That call came much too late for it to truly work, and that’s just the risk they had to take. At the end of the day, it was not a call made to screw Daniel over, or to play favoritism to Lando. It was simply what could’ve been a good call made too late for good execution.
[I made some graphics to aid my own thought process and I’ve stuck them under the Read More for y’all to look at if you want!]

anon wants toto?? my brain is Only filled with toto lets go
1) cockwarming for toto under his desk while that he's on a zoom call, and having to keep quiet at all times because you never know when he's muted himself or not. his cock is so big in your mouth though, its the best type of torture because he doesnt let you move too much on it. his hands keep playing & tugging in your hair, u never want to leave
2) friday fp2, he leaves you in your hotel room tied up to the four corners of the bed with loose silk knots (he'd never put you in danger he may be strict but he isn't mean...) and leaves you with instructions to stay like that until the session ends. when he comes back he tuts as he sees you completely gOne and begging for anyOne or anything to touch you, you get called a good girl multiple times that afternoon. you cum so many times you lose count & wear one of the scarves the next day in the paddock, as a nice lil reminder
3) you're out on a date, a nice wine bar - something upscale but not stuffy, and you're both sitting by the bar on high stools. he cant keep himself from running his large hands up and down your thigh, exposed by the high slit in your skirt. you're sitting close enough that he doesnt have to reach far for his knuckles to graze your bare pussy. the second he realizes you left your panties at home he drags you to a bathroom stall and eats you out - better than anything he could of ordered off of the menu anyways
ohhh yes we need toto filth, don’t we?
~ ~ ~
The corner of your lips hurt, and so do your knees.
It’s dark under Toto’s desk, and your eyes keep slipping shut. It’s easy to drop like this, but you aren’t sure if it’s what he wanted. He was very clear with his rules for today.
“Stay under the desk, do not make a sound, do not move and don’t suck the cock in your mouth this time, okay?”
Toto had started off soft in your mouth, and he’d petted you under the table, making you feel like a good girl. But then his hand was gone and you started to swell. Bigger and bigger he grew until your lips were splitting at the seams and he poked at the back of your throat.
It made you clench your thighs, and you could feel the drool dripping out around his cock as you sat there, motionless with your mouthful. It felt like forever and no time at all all at once.
“Okay, darling,” Toto called, “you did so good.”
He pushed himself away from his desk so he could see you but you whined loudly as you quickly scooted forward, rubbing your already raw knees into the carpet as you kept half his cock in your mouth.
“Oh, sweetheart, you look so pretty.” He held up his phone and took a picture while you looked up at him with your mouth full, “You were such a good cockwarmer, do you like my dick in your mouth?”
You nodded as best you could and felt him twitch.
“Oh yes,” Toto reached down and gripped the lower half of his cock, tugging on it while the end stayed in your mouth, “I think I’ll cum like this, then take care of you at home, hmm? You want me to jerk off into your mouth?”
You nodded as best you could.

Toto didn’t seem mad to find you on the floor, not the bed, silk ties loose around your wrists, no longer bound to the bed, with three of your fingers deep inside yourself.
“Please help me.” You whined as you rubbed your face into the floor, your ass in the air as your fingers tried to fuck you the way you craved Toto to.
“Oh, you can’t help yourself, can you?”
He leaned over you and pushed your fingers from your pussy, scooping you up just to deposit you back on the bed.
“I didn’t want to have to use this,” he muttered as he turned back to his luggage, “I wanted you to come out with me and the team tonight,” he pulled something from his bag and turned around, “but now I think it’s better you stay here.”
When Toto turned around, he held a large dildo and more silk ties. Quickly reaching over you, he dropped the dildo on to your stomach, letting you feel how heavy it was, see how big it was.
“Is that for me?” You asked quietly.
Toto hummed before he leaned down and kissed your nose. He methodically worked, tying your arms back a bit tighter, and then your legs. Since there was no foot post on the bed, your arms and legs were tied to the headboard.
You could smell yourself as you laid there open as ever, and you hoped Toto would decide to stay with you and indulge himself, instead of whatever he had planned.
“Now,” he held up the dildo and laughed as you poured, “this should be easy, since you’ve gotten yourself so wet.”
“All for you.” You insisted.
“All for me.” Toto repeated with a chuckle, “I know it’s for me, but this,” he cupped himself through his pants, “isn’t for you. This,” he held up the dildo, “is.”
You gasped loudly as he pressed the thick head to your cunt. You squirmed as Toto pressed it so it blocked your entrance but didn’t penetrate you. It was torturous.
“Toto!” You whined.
With no warning at all, he shoved the entire thing into you and let it slide all the way to the hilt. You choked on a screech and felt your legs tighten as your hips jumped from the sudden fullness.
“You’re gonna stay nice and stretched for me so I can use you when I get back,” he said so nonchalantly as he climbed off the bed and leaned over to pet your hair, “and I do want to use when I get back,” he reassured you with a kiss, “so I want you to stay ready.”
He plucked one of your nipples before standing to his full height next to the bed. He looked amazing standing there in his usual white and black team attire. You could follow the bulge in his pants from the base of his cock to his thick head. It made you squirm. He was playing with his phone again and it excited you to think that he was going to take more pictures of you.
But he didn’t.
You gasped as the fake dick inside of you came to life and started vibrating.
“Fuck!” You yelped.
Toto smiled down at you softly, “It’s gonna keep you ready, okay?”
You whimpered as he kissed your cheek and then walked away from the bed. The last thing you heard before the door slammed shut was a loud reminder to behave.

You could feel Toto was sweet talking you, the nice compliments he paid you were heavy with his guilt at leaving you behind for his last triple header.
It had been a long three weeks, so long for the both of you that he hadn’t faulted you for your bratty attitude upon his return. Instead, he took it in stride and unpacked all the gifts he’d picked up for you over the past three weeks, and asked which flower arrangement he’d sent you had been your favorite.
You hadn’t ooo’d or awww’d at anything he showed you, and you lied and told him how quickly all the flowers died. You’d sat there unimpressed with crossed arms, even when he told you of the restaurant he’d gotten reservations for.
Which is where he was laying it all on very thick.
His hot body pressed to yours in the secluded booth of the dark, moody establishment. The silk dress you’d put on had been an intentional tease, the buttery fabric clung to your every curve, and not willing to risk a single line or crease, you’d worn nothing underneath it.
Toto’s hand laid heavy on your thigh as you looked away from him as he spoke into your neck, “Look so delicious, missed this.” he licked your pulse.
His large hand squeezed the soft of your thigh before pushing between your legs. When he touched your bare lips, he sighed into your skin.
“I missed you.” He mumbled into your ear.
You made no sound or acknowledgement, but you did spread your legs under the table.
“Ah, my sweet, I knew you missed me.” he playfully tugged your ear as he wiggled his finger tip between your lips, playing with the area around your clit, “I just want to make up for lost time.”
He pressed his finger down your slit until it got to the heated core. When he pressed his finger forward, it seemed like he expected some resistance, cause you both jumped when he suddenly sunk into your cunt.
“Oh, of course you’re ready. You’re always ready, aren’t you?”
Exciting himself, Toto panted against your skin as his finger began pushing and pulling itself from your cunt. He fingered you under the table as your eyelids got heavy. In a needy haze, you lifted your leg on to the curved seat of the booth, spreading your pussy open under the table.
Toto choked on a laugh, “No, no, we don’t want just anyone to see.” you whimpered as he pulled his finger from your core, “M’gonna go to the restroom, follow me in a minute.”
You nodded and fixed your dress under the table as he stood from it and headed towards the signage that indicated your rendezvous point. He looked over his shoulder and winked before sucking his finger into his mouth and disappearing into the far hallway.
Giggling to yourself, you briefly entertained the idea of going to the valet and taking the car home. It would serve Toto right for leaving you hanging for three weeks. But you were also dripping under the table and the idea of public sex made your cunt quiver.
Your decision was made, and you knew it.
With a heavy sigh but a wicked smirk, you got up from the table and followed the path Toto had just taken.
