✹ … ⥁ A DAY IN LOOP NEWS: APRIL 30TH, 2024 (1/3): After six years in operation, New Wave Music declares bankrupcy and immediate shut down.
Announced and held on the same day by New Wave Music's founder and CEO Seo Chanhyuk, an emergency public press conference has been held on company grounds this tuesday (April 30th) announcing the immediate termination of the record label - stated in the CEO's opening speech to be privately inactive since early April:
"Our last act as New Wave Music, a fully operating entertainment company, was the release of LOOPiN's single album 'Reason: Start', on March 23rd. Although imperfect and not done according to the members and the staff idealized vision, it was the way found by our superiors to share the work of our artists while keeping the transparecy needed to protect our shareholders and colaborators in our final moments. For the rushed release that has hurt the people that allowed us to go this far, we deeply and sincerely apologize."
As the points of major highlight in the short interview, comes the fate of New Wave's current groups: rookie girl group PASS(i)ONE (2024 -) and boy group LOOPiN (2018 -):
"As a compromise to PASS(i)ONE's promotional contract with Mnet and the CJM Group as the winner of 'Be The One', due on March 1st, we've put all our resources to make their debut meet the required expectations. We're proud to say that, despite all complications, we have succeded and proudly repaid our dept to our partner companies. But we can't go on any longer; we can't take PASS(i)ONE any further."
PASS(i)ONE is a nine membered girl group debuted on February 26th, three months after their extremely successful 3 member run on Mnet's survival reality show 'Be The One', where small and medium companies sent trios made out of their close to premiere trainee teams, all in chance of winning a highly sponsored debut in the first semester of 2024. The group is made up Dahyung, Cai, Chaeun, Bless, Kendall, Wanee, Furumi, Yeji and Marcie, all no longer signed to New Wave Music. Their future is currently unknown, altought CEO Seo hints over the conference that they're not disbanded.
Regarding the future of LOOPiN, however, the CEO declares himself unable to speak on:
"LOOPiN has always taken pride in being a self-producing, self-fulfilling act. We've terminated our exclusive contracts with all member colaborators on March 28th, and since then I have personally encouraged their persue for new agencies. But what has been decided for their future as a team has been done privatly and beyond our professional input or awareness. To whataver happens in their future, we can't add any further comments."
MORE FOR YOU ... LOOPiN's official Youtube channel, group Instagram and Twitter pages attached to New Wave Music permanetly deleted | Netizens attempt to solve the unspoken in New Wave Music's Seo Chanhyuk's final speech...

The Ultimate Serendipity-Odd Squad Lore Post
Tumblr media
Because you people keep asking for my entire story.
No, no, not my life story. Christ sakes, we'd be here until Gen Z'ers died off if I had to reiterate my whole life story.
No, I'm talking about my entire Odd Squad story. You know, how I got here to begin with, how I rose to fame, and how I am objectively still a god without a religion, a cult, or a religious cult. That story. You all want to hear that story.
If you're an oldie, you've probably already heard my tale at least once. If you're new here to the funny kids STEM show fandom, then damn boy howdy are you in for a wild ride.
Get a snack and a drink, pop below the break, and let's begin.
Allow me to take you back to the year 2014. I was the ripe young age of 15, finishing up my sophomore year of high school, and suffering from undiagnosed depression of the "I'm trapped in my own home" variety. We didn't have cable, and so stuff like PBS Kids, NBC Kids, and 4Kids were the only things I watched on a regular basis. In the online space, I was largely chronline to the tenth degree (and note the "largely", because, y'know...school). The Internet, and spaces like Tumblr, served as escapism, and I spent a lot of time particularly in the Wild Kratts side of things.
I had first heard of Odd Squad through PBS's own upfront, the PBS Annual Meeting, that was held in May (though the show was, as I would find out much later, officially announced back in January at that year's TCA Winter Press Tour). It was the network's first live-action show since The Electric Company reboot in 2009 that got swiftly cancelled, which was already enough to get me interested because PBS hadn't taken a chance on live-action stuff since. The premise, as well, was charming and incredibly interesting -- a secret organization that solves problems using math sounded a little saccharine and thus perfect for PBS Kids, but since it was live-action, I figured it could bring a little spice to the network in a way that not other kids shows of the modern network era (read: 2013 onwards, past the network redesign) did. The fact that PBS was willing to go all-in on the show, up to teasers, previews, even having two new games available for fans to play before its premiere, was practically the cherry on top.
Fast-forward to around September. By this point, teasers and promos were already coming out for the show that showcased Olive, Otto, Oprah and Oscar in action. And by this point, I was absolutely invested. On a whim, I decided to take my Sony camera and record a reaction video of me watching it. Was it weird? Yes, but I had no money for a laptop that wasn't a decade old and didn't run about as well as a computer from the days of yore. You make do with what you have.
Needless to say, when the first episode "Zero Effect" premiered, I was having a whale of a time. That's...pretty much all I remember. Aside from the swearing. Lots and lots of swearing.
(...Look, it was 10 years ago. My brain can only go on a decline after being fully developed. And the depression has been eating away at me for that long. When astrophysicists perfect the art of the time machine, call me.)
I uploaded it to my YouTube channel the day after the show premiered. No editing, just a straight-cut video of my reactions laid on the table. I figured, "Okay, so this would be nice to look back on and laugh, maybe."
And then, a month later, I got a PM from Joshua Kilimnik, the actor who plays Season 1's big bad Odd Todd.
Before I get into that, though, a bit of backstory for my channel is necessary.
I had made my channel in 2011, when Wild Kratts premiered. At the time, it was mostly hosting Wild Kratts content, mainly Top 10 countdowns of fan videos I stumbled across on Tumblr or elsewhere as well as Sparta Remix-related stuff. (Yeah, remember that old meme? That isn't as dead as you think it is? Yeeeeeeah.) Around the middle of 2015, it unfortunately got struck down pretty hard when PBS began to go Nintendo on it, viewed fanworks as threats to their IPs, and decided to rip down my videos from the 'Net in three easy strikes -- and with it, my entire channel. It stung, to see my relatively hard work go down the drain. I'd be lying if I said I had wanted the channel to stay up just so I can look back on it in 5 years and cringe at how juvenile it was. Christ sakes, I even had MLP stuff up there at one point. Why? Don't ask me. I wasn't even watching the show at the time. I truly got into it when Season 5 began airing.
But back to the PM. You know, back when YouTube gave you the option to PM people.
Getting the PM from Joshua, I was, naturally, suspect. Celebrity impersonators are all too common, and as I would later come to find out, Odd Squad was not exempt. I had to laugh, because an autistic nobody like me getting a PM from a child actor who was in the industry long before Odd Squad was like Ariana Grande up and inviting me to have dinner with her because I made a few comments about her diction. It's a miracle, people. Miracles that only happen to those with life-threatening illnesses or those who have done good for the community. I had neither of those. Unless you count me going to high school as doing the community a service, in which case I have one of those things.
I read the PM again. And again. And again. And something in me thought, "Maybe...just maybe...this guy is actually legitimate. Maybe he's telling the truth about the entire Season 1 cast and the show's crew members, creators included, seeing my video. I mean it's 2014, what creator wouldn't look to the Internet for first reactions on their show?"
Fuck it. iBalled. I went for it. I reached out to Joshua.
And by God's oddness-laden utopia, am I so happy I did.
We immediately hit it off, taking our conversation from YouTube DMs to Twitter DMs (no, my current Twitter is not that ancient -- my time on birdsite-now-saltyman-hellhole is a whole different story) and discussing our hobbies and what we did. Joshua confided in me that he helped disabled kids, which, honestly, is a green flag in my book off the bat as someone who is, in fact, disabled. I told him about my animal shelter work and how I loved the show.
At the same time, I had posted on Tumblr about the show. Don't ask me what the post was about -- I honestly couldn't tell you, and combing through the tag is something I'd need a hell of a lot of motivation for -- but it somehow, by some astronomical means, took off. People came in like a small trickle. It was small, but over time, we built a strong community. I didn't exactly know how big my impact on people was until I read "how I got into Odd Squad" stories and saw my name pop up enough times to the point where I could safely say I was an inspiration to more than one person.
At some point in 2015, I had created a Wiki for the show. Fandom -- or Wikia, as it was called back then -- wasn't exactly new territory for me, as I had visited other show Wikis before. However, my Odd Squad Wiki didn't take off, and someone else ended up making another one that became far more successful.
...Yeah, you're surprised, aren't you? Figures. But not even I can lay claim to everything.
When the other Wiki took off, Joshua decided to dive right into the fire and engage with the fandom directly. Now, for any big-name fandom, this is everyday normalcy. The My Little Pony fandom has fans directly engage with cast and crew members who answer their questions, for example. But for small fandoms of niche IPs -- and oh believe you me, Odd Squad was incredibly niche back then -- a cast member interacting with fans was a huge deal. The hype only increased when Joshua was named an administrator, along with a few others, myself included.
Needless to say, Joshua being involved boosted the fandom's activity exponentially, and not just due to his spectacular acting on the show. Fanfics, fanart, fan videos...it was a bustling time of fan content. I can recall some of the most notable works just off the top of my head. The fandom got to be so busy that I made a news blog just to cover every bit of news, shifting away from my Wild Kratts news coverage to focus on a different show instead. I enlisted a few old friends to help me out, converted them to be oddballs (which, I will say, was a stroke of luck), and put them on the "staff team". My aim was to create something akin to Equestria Daily, but on a smaller scale. We did editorials, episode followups, and scoured the Internet for any and every bit of Odd Squad news we could find. It became a reliable source for many, especially considering PBS's horrible track record with even the most basic of news -- cancellations, renewals, and other such announcements. Not to brag, but I like to think I did a better job than them at actually giving news to fans who deserve it. (Hell, I still do. My hunger for even small crumbs of news is very strong indeed.)
I can easily recall when Season 2 was announced. Me and my friends were ecstatic. For me, I never thought Odd Squad would get a Season 2, and the Season 1 finale -- affectionately named OINFO (don't confuse it with "O is Not For Old", that's a different rodeo; this is "O is Not For Over") -- made sure of that. Originally, it was set to air in May, before it got shifted to June to coincide with Season 2's premiere.
And even long before that, the movie being announced blew our minds. I genuinely couldn't believe this niche little IP, birthed only several months ago, was getting a movie. And not even one of those specials that PBS markets as a movie as a ratings stunt. No, no, this was a full-blown theatrical movie. With A-listers to boot! And it was a damn good movie!
(...Okay, unrelated, but man, I'm reading through all my old posts and comments on the Wiki and cringing. God, did I really type like a 10-year-old back then when I was in high school? Egh gross cringe. The "let her say fuck" was strong with me back then.)
Of course, as most actors do, Joshua largely moved on from the show as the years went on. Most long-timer fans stuck around until the end of Season 2 before either other interests caught their eye or real life just got in the way too much. A majority of these fans dropped off the face of the Earth like an introvert who suddenly disappears mid-conversation, though they still popped into the Discord server a few times and I reconnected with one or two on Twitter. Hell, some of them even made a "hey, I'm back, and here's what's up" post on Fandom that made me ask if their accounts got hacked.
As a result, when Season 3 premiered, the fandom had slowed down to a crawl. Anyone who's bore witness to it, whether an episode or a nugget of criticism, can probably guess why. (And anyone who hasn't can feel the wrath of my "trust me bro" card, thank you.) It was like I willingly leapt off of the boat, it sped away without me, and I was trapped in the middle of fuck-all nowhere with sharks. So, you know, like Open Water if it was actually good. But the point stands in that I was pretty much all alone. I couldn't crawl to anyone for the sweet release of death after seeing just how hard S&P tried to avoid The Shadow's very obvious murder attempt by way of hacking into a car to make it fall into a lake of green goo. All I could do was scream and cry into a mic, edit, upload to YouTube, and let all the unsupervised kids looking for free episodes come to me in droves.
Oh, and post to Odd News. Until I accidentally deleted the account.
By that point in time, my old friends had all left due to real life commitments, and only one, Angelica, remained. But even she drifted away, and I was stuck running it all alone. So, I made the difficult decision to let it rot, and frankly...I haven't touched it since. Largely because I left Tumblr entirely and only just now came back. On the news front, I expanded my coverage to PBS Kids as a whole network, just as I do on Twitter.
It wasn't until the back half of Season 3 premiered that the fandom slowly but surely began to grow from planted roots, and I could connect with people again. Seeing people flood the Discord server and Tumblr, sharing art and news and theories, was amazing. Not for Season 3, though -- it was because of the past two seasons. Honestly, to say there's been more talk about Otis and Odd Todd than about any other character in the entire franchise is a hell of an understatement, because it dominated pretty much 98% of the fandom.
From there, new fanworks, fanart, and other pieces of fan-created media were created, and many still continue to be created to this day. Though hyperfixations can be yoted off the cliff and die in an instant (with deepest apologies to Shroom), it's great to see a burst of activity in such a small fandom. Hell, it even got big enough to where we had a Secret Valentine's exchange a couple months back, which was a real joy because it gave me a chance to flex my writing chops even if it did leave me on the verge of a third panic attack. And...the fandom being revived did land me a solid interview for a college assignment. Which, to me, is my own equivalent of getting a dedicated panel at a convention.
But this isn't a whole entire story about fandom lore. It's a story about me.
And honestly...I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little tired with Odd Squad myself.
Between the choking responsibilities of adult life (yay work), the state of my mental and physical health (yay depression and anxiety), and the franchise being fucked over sideways to Pluto and back by numerous entities (yay TV industry), I really can't just focus on Odd Squad anymore. Now, I'll give a fair warning to you and tell you to make no mistake -- my enjoyment of the franchise will die with me and my entire bloodline if the franchise itself doesn't die first. But I've found other special interests and hyperfixations that have grabbed me more than the funny kid agent franchise has. I derive more joy from binging the 90s Frasier series, Pretty Cure, and Neighborhood Wars than I do with the funny kid agent franchise.
Now, does this mean I'm leaving the fandom? God no. To do it on the verge of the franchise's 10th anniversary would be utter blasphemy. And I do plan on weaponizing this blog for more Seren's Studies, including episode reviews and character analyses I can't do with the limited resources I have. But the drive for Odd Squad is just...no longer there for me. I did not, unfortunately, get the "Odd Squad forever" autism. I got the "childhood is hell, but okay, sure, I'll make you a functioning competent adult to a certain degree" autism.
Maybe one of these days, amidst the countless new pieces of media that keep releasing, I'll be able to rewatch Odd Squad. It's worn out its welcome nostalgia-wise, but I find it to be a pretty enjoyable view when I take off those glasses and put on the "my God is an awesome God and that's why I try to attend church every Sunday" ones. I'm still making crossover fan projects to other IPs like MLP, Super Monkey Ball, and Precure. And of course, I'll be seated for Odd Squad UK to see if it's good or not -- I'm more than happy to take the bullet for people who don't want to see it for whatever reason, just as I did for the back half of Season 3. But for now, the drive is pretty much gone.
I will admit, I'm likely missing some stuff. My memory is absolutely terrible, and I had to go fishing for a lot of stuff to refresh it (one of the reasons why this took so long to release in the first place). But this is what I can dredge up.
I'm honestly proud of the little fandom I birthed. I could work a hundred jobs in my lifetime and still say that founding the Odd Squad fandom is by far my greatest accomplishment. I've met so many amazing people, seen so many amazing things, and really, I'm hoping to see more people in the years to come. If the aim is to introduce Odd Squad to new generations of kids, teens, young adults, and adults alike, then I'm all for it. Expose them to goodness. None of that Cocomelon shit.
Thank you for reading, and to all of the people in the fandom both old and new, thank you for touching my life in ways I never thought of. If you've got any further questions about my story, send 'em my way; I'll be glad to answer 'em.
See you all in the next Seren's Studies, whenever that may be.

Mondo Oowada Dynamics Pt. 1
Tumblr media
NOT MY GIF THE SOURCE IS AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT
(*Quick note! I address Chihiro with he/him pronouns!)
To start off, let's start with his own class, class 78.
At first everyone thought of him as this intimidating delinquent, not knowing what else to think of him and typically steering clear of him. Aoi, Byakuya, and Kiyotaka had the most negative opinions on him at first.
Leon, Sayaka, and Makoto were the first ones to actually see past the delinquent exterior and befriend the biker.
Hifumi, Celestia, Kyoko, Mukuro, and Sakura remain indifferent to the biker.
Junko finds it hilarious to rile him up - often getting him in trouble with Kiyotaka or their teacher. Mostly Kiyotaka. Mondo isn't particularly fond of the fashionista.
Eventually Kiyotaka and Mondo challenge each other to an endurance contest - and they quickly become friends the next day. It's jarring for everyone, but it actually makes everyone else relax - just a tiny bit.
Chihiro, Aoi, Sakura, and Yasuhiro start to open up, extending their own companionship towards the biker as well.
Byakuya, Hifumi, Celestia, Junko, and Mukuro continue to ignore the biker. They don't exactly become friends - only tolerating each other through extended friends.
Mondo clings on to a few students - Kiyotaka, Chihiro, Leon, Makoto, Sayaka, and Yasuhiro, seeing all of them as good friends.
And oh boy do they get into trouble.
Mondo and Leon always get into trouble - nothing serious, just ditching class or playing nonsensical jokes on each other. They're mostly seen as the delinquents of the class, when they're actually just two dorks sharing one singular braincell.
MONDO AND CHIHIRO ARE GYM BROS YEEEEEEAH
Mondo is Chihiros biggest hype man.
Chihiro looks up to Mondo, always boosting his confidence and erasing his doubts about his masculinity (not completely but it definitely helps ease it a bit)
They're homies.
Makoto tends to be more of a chill friend when compared to Leon.
Makoto reminds Mondo of Takemichi - acting as a calm voice of reason to contrast his brash, impulsive actions.
But still a chill dude, yk?
They don't hang out all that often, but when they do it's a pretty chill hangout, mostly talking about their life over lunch or smth.
Sayaka took one look at Mondo and said "Yeah that's a friend shape right there"
But in actuality they bonded over his makeup Sayaka is OBSESSED.
All it took was one session of doing each other's makeup before they were glued at the hip. Sayaka loves to do his nails or eyeshadow, and they often binge shows together or gossip about other students
The best way I can describe it is a male/female pairing that people think they're dating, when in reality they're just besties. Or mlm and wlw solidarity whichever tickles your fancy.
Yasuhiro was that one dude that Mondo wasn't all that sure about at first - thought he was some weirdo that was constantly on w33d.
And then he figured out he was just like that. That was just his default state.
It got much easier to get along after that revelation.
They're pretty chill when they hang out too. Not chill/relaxed like Makoto, but a chaotic type of chill - which makes zero sense but I'll try to elaborate.
Yasuhiro spouts random bullshit - Mondo eventually latches onto one topic - they converse over said bullshit topic, usually resulting in heated debates or staying up past midnight.
It's really rare, as they mostly hang out through mutual friends, but one on one hangouts? It's either that one video of a drunk guy swinging around a belt, then getting restrained by another guy with said belt - or the two guys arguing over the Wicked Witch of the East.
If I could find the video I would share it but noooooo I suck at searching
And then there's Kiyotaka.
KYOUDAI
As many others, I adore their dynamic. Platonic or romantic, they're great.
For this I'll just focus on platonic stuff.
Literally glued at the hip. By default they hang around each other, doing everything together unless something comes up.
On Mondo's end, he helps Kiyotaka relax and learn to have fun while they're still in high school. This ranges from late night drives, video games, and hang outs with their classmates. Mondo adores his kyoudai!! Normalize male friendships!! I love their ship but I love their friendship/brotherhood just as much AHHHHH
Oh and Mondo likes to cuddle all of his close friends.
You gotta pry him off with a crowbar.
Man got big to hug his friends and dogs simultaneously.
OH AND THERE'S THE TWO GIRLS THAT TERRIFY HIM.
Kyoko's mere aura scares the shit out of him. She is intimidating, but he'll never admit it due to pride.
The same goes with Toko, but it's more understandable as everyone is scared of Toko and Syo. He can tolerate Toko, but Syo? No way in hell.
He can tolerate Kyoko though.
I think they would get along pretty well in both a romantic or platonic aspect.
But platonically? They're a crime solving duo. Mondo's the brawn, she's the brain.
Man I really need to separate this into another part just to expand on the more negative dynamics huh-
Also can y'all tell Mondo is one of my favorites he's great-

Rebels Rewatch: "Hera's Heroes"
*whispers* Is our favorite blue bastard back? Oh you betcha.
The episode title seems to be a reference to Hogan's Heroes, an old boomer-era TV show dark comedy sitcom about a P.O.W. camp in Nazi Germany.
...No listen, the charm is, I'm told, that the German officers are portrayed as bumbling idiots and the P.O.W.s basically run an entire clandestine resistance campaign right under their noses. So there are all kinds of shenanigans involved and a lot of taking the piss out of the Axis Powers and honestly some of it seems right in line with what kind of mischief the Rebels have been known to get into so the shoutout makes sense to me.
Anyway.
Cham and Numa return!
"The Empire is getting better at anticipating our moves!" Ha ha yeah he... he has a tendency to do that. It's a little scary sometimes.
Now taking bets on whether or not Thrawn showing up on Ryloth was premeditated in order to draw the Spectres out.
Tumblr media
"My daughter is always serious." Lol, love how this joke comes back later.
This music cue is great, I love it. Lot of rapid build-up to the serious horn variation of "Shenanigans".
Tumblr media
"You didn't think this through did you?" LOL love that awkward little noise the Scout Trooper makes, he's just like, "Oh..."
Zeb being a perfect big brother asking Ezra if he has the Scout Trooper set yet and knocking out the trooper awww.
Hugs! Lovely to see that Cham and Hera have repaired their relationship.
Yeeeeeeah I don't think it was Slavin that you underestimated, Cham. I think it's pretty heavily suggested it was actually Thrawn who ousted y'all from the house there.
Hera is a bit reluctant to include everyone in what's arguably a very personal and selfish mission but they're all for it, so into the fray we go.
Tumblr media
I think I may have had a little mourning moment the first time I watched this, upon the realization that Ezra doesn't fit in his cadet uniform anymore.
Zeb nudging Kanan in the arm to let him know it's time to charge out. <333 And Sabine grabbing his wrist and keeping hold of it until they're both on the blurrg. See, little touches like this are great, just a nice subtle way of showing Kanan's blindness without calling direct attention to it.
Some really nice Hera and Ezra interaction this episode, I really liked that, they don't get to be on missions together much so this is refreshing.
Tumblr media
Do we know if this is a reused asset from TCW? Looks almost too nice to be one lol.
Tumblr media
:((((((
Droids can have PTSD apparently, Chopper is unusually sad about this crashed Y-wing, grieving his former pilot maybe?
Tumblr media
*strains ears* This soft music-box like cue almost sounds like Leia's theme. It's too short and buried under the dialogue for me to tell and even Clone Gunner Commander Jedi doesn't have it extracted.
Tumblr media
HHFHFHFFFFFHH FRICK.
The man can jumpscare me just walking into a room, gah.
"The Rebel activity is far from here." As Ezra and Hera are literally sneaking past them lol told you the reference to Hogan's Heroes was deliberate.
Oooh the harp in this cue, nice!
Tumblr media
Chopper's finally over his drama in order to assist.
We return to Hera and co. after a brief setpiece back in the canyon and Chopper readily plays "malfunctioning droid" again for a distraction.
Tumblr media
Hera smoothly slipping back into her Ryloth accent to try and deflect suspicion. <3
Tumblr media
Ezra trying to at least stay next to her even if he can't break cover.
Thrawn already totally knows it's Hera.
Ohhhhh boy it's time for creepy Cultural Appropriation!Thrawn, with him analyzing the details of his opponents' culture and traditions in order to find ways to hurt and oppress them more effectively for the Empire.
Since he studied up on Twi'lek culture he knows what a kalikori is, and its significance. Therefore he knew immediately that someone trying to smuggle one out of the compound would have to have some kind of personal emotional connection to it. This kalikori was found in Cham Syndulla's office, ergo, family of Cham Syndulla. Ergo, obviously, Hera Syndulla, noted Rebel insurgent.
See I kind of like this method of showing Thrawn's "strategic art analysis", which was practically magic bullshit in the original Heir To The Empire trilogy. Thrawn comes across as brilliant but not OP here, instead.
By the way, "Thrawn's Web" is the perfect musical leitmotif for him. Creepy plinky music box notes giving way to slowly building cathedral organs, ominous and refined.
Tumblr media
I almost feel like I need to take a shower after this exchange it's so freaking creepy. Thrawn almost exotifies Hera here, breathlessly gushing and envious about how she was "forged" by war, while he merely studies it from the outside.
Making Hera the primary rival/foil to Thrawn was a really inspired decision for Rebels, contrasting her passion to his apathy, her warmth to his cold sterility. The villainous respect he has for her makes their interactions cordial with a hostile edge.
Plus, with all his focus on Hera, identifying her as the primary threat, he completely misses all the Force Bullshit that Kanan and Ezra are capable of throwing at him lol.
After all, he repeats the idea, "To defeat an enemy you must know them." and as he later confesses to Ezra in the finale he doesn't know the Force.
(It's almost impossible for him to know, Palpatine has spent so much effort destroying and hoarding other Force disciplines. Way to screw yourself Palps.)
Tumblr media
Worried spacemom when Thrawn stuns Ezra. <33333
Tumblr media Tumblr media
:((((
Thrawn's picky insistence on using the "correct" pronunciation of Hera's name is also creepy.
Thrawn: "Really too bad you're probably gonna be executed immediately. Anyway I'm taking your family heirloom for my art collection, definitely not as some kind of sick trophy of my besting you noooooo not at all." Hera: "Kriff you, bastard!"
Tumblr media
Thanking Hera for her "hospitality" when the Empire literally invaded and occupied her house, he's such an asshole. It's great. I love him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ngl, not gonna lie, really dig Feral!Thrawn. I have a thing about seeing normally calm, stoic characters just completely lose their shit and go berserk. ('s'why I took Thrawn through a slow Villainous Breakdown in my "Mirrorverse" series.) Even this brief loss of control is just *mwah*.
Tumblr media
"What'd I miss?" He's so cute.
"And my daughter is not important?!" Awww, see, character growth!
Tumblr media
Love this conversation, Ezra reassuring Hera that he doesn't regret coming along to support her on this.
Chopper running full tilt into Ezra lol.
Hera gave the murderbot permission to find and plant explosives, uh-oh, ha ha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caps that could easily be watercolor paintings number 337.
Tumblr media
Slavin seems very confident and snooty. Something that becomes a pattern on the show is that Thrawn will let more incompetent underlings fail so he can learn more about the Rebels, will set them up to fail sometimes.
Also something I noticed before but this little moment reminded me, the Stormtroopers tend to be pretty rough with Ezra, they're always shoving at him or manhandling him for absolutely no reason, they're just petty.
Chopper laughing maniacally as he plants the detonators. <3
Tumblr media
"You were serious?!" You're the one who said she was always serious my dude, lol.
Impressive move from Kanan, redirecting that rocket at the AT-DP.
You know I think maybe Thrawn likes the cat and mouse thrill, obviously he sacrifices smaller victories for eventual much larger ones but I also think he's just really into having a worthy opponent.
Tumblr media

Hera talking about how her mother's memory is kept alive via the love that Hera's Found Family shares, while Zeb is giving Ezra noogies in the background aaaaah I love it.
I think I remember wanting this episode to have been a little longer??? Not quite sure why I thought that now, maybe I just really wanted more of it at the time.
Thrawn gets his first personal up-close encounter with the Spectres and even if he's hands off about actually closing the trap on them this episode we can tell he's got major plans coming, and is factoring what he learned about Hera specifically into them for later. This did annoy certain fanbros who forgot that this was Thrawn's whole thing and decided it was Plot Armor because kids show but frankly I ignore those types of people and my fandom experience is better for it.
As I already said, love the Hera-Ezra interaction, love the music, this episode is honestly a bit laid-back and unassuming compared to the tense premiere and dramatic previous episodes. Lulls you into a false sense of security. Just like Thrawn. XD
I'll be talking more about him later, trust me, I have Opinions™.

Ngl, although I've been a FNAF fan and an Undertale fan since both came out, my first thought when you said "daycare attendant! Fresh" was that which shall not be named *cough* pj's day care *cough* and not like... Sun and moon fnaf daycare 💀 btw drop the link, king. I wanna hear this freshy remix 👀
Alrighty, here’s the link X3 it’s the official music video for it and there’s a lot of colors at different points, so just a head up for that, I suppose. The amount of colors and how upbeat it is is what’s giving me DCA!Fresh vibes, since he’s a colorful, happy guy and seems like he wants to be your friend and all. Y’know. Right up until the lights go out
And yeeeeeeah,, I’ve heard of PJs daycare unfortunately. I know nothing about it personally, but I don’t think I want to know, considering all the bad things I’ve heard/read. My daycare attendant boy has nothing to do with any of that, so I promise you, you have nothing to be concerned about ^^”

uh oh, I goofed- there are actually 10 new teaser pages for Clementine Book Two
Tumblr media
Yeeeeeeah, so remember how I said there were only four new teasers from Tillie’s insta? I was deceived, and it’s all Skybound’s fault >:[ I place all blame on them. Couldn’t be my fault. :/
@arielsprospera informed me that Skybound posted the pages on twitter, and since I avoid twitter like my entire existence depends on it, I never would’ve known had someone not informed me, so thank you!
So for real this time, let’s look over the new pages and discuss.
Tumblr media
Okie dokie, I think it’s safe to say they got away from the two dudes who grabbed Olivia. It was a close one, but they’re three young girls so it’s easy to underestimate them and that’s always a good advantage.
I love that Olivia has a wound on her face and Ricca just sticks her fingers in it like, “Scars are cool.” Girl don’t do that, you’re hands are dirty, that’s how infections happen!
Speaking of-- for me the big thing with this page is Clementine saying, “My other leg hurts more, though. Something’s up with it...”
....Clementine. What do you mean something’s up with it? Something as in you’re not caring for it properly and now it’s swelling with infection??
Tumblr media
You’ll change the world, Clementine? “It won’t be like this forever”?
Interesting, that’s the kind of attitude I’d expect to see from S1 and S2 Clementine. ANF Clementine is where she lost a lot of that hope that the world would get better and believed things would get better, which made sense given all the shit that happened to her to lead up to that.
She was a little more hopeful in TFS, like when Tenn tells the group he doesn’t believe the walkers will be around forever, but at this point she’s mostly accepted that this is just how the world works now and you have to do what you can to survive.
So, what’s changed?
Oh, and hands... Clementine and Ricca’s hands are touching. Much romance.
Tumblr media
Not much to say about this page other than it looks nice. I like it. Tillie does establishing shots well.
Tumblr media
Again, Clementine... I have a hard time feeling too bad about your leg. I get that y’all want to keep moving to get... wherever it is you’re going, but you’re not going to get far if your leg kills you.
The group’s a mess, really. It’s not great when Olivia is the most stable, given Ricca’s vision is deteriorating and Clementine’s leg is in terrible condition from lack of proper care.
Also, I see two strangers and horse in the corner. They could just be random people they want to avoid, or maybe those two dudes had a bigger group that’s in the area and it’s best to avoid them.
Tumblr media
.......uhhhh
”Don’t, I’ll n-never get him back on.”  ..........what do you mean? Clementine, you took it off on page 19, you’ve taken your prosthetic off plenty of times? Unless her leg is so swollen now that it no long fits, which is not a great sign.
And she has a fever. Because of course she does.
Also, blegh... I still cannot get over the fact that she named her leg Kenny. This is a great example of “bad fan service,” I actually hate it so much.
Tumblr media
I’m just going to paste what I wrote before about this section:
Clementine’s got a fever and they’re covered in mud, shit, and blood...not great things to have on an infected leg, y’all.
Also, “We’ll eat fish.” .....insert AJ’s “I like fish!” line here.
Oh wait, you can’t, because AJ’s not here. Because he’s back at Ericson. Because Clementine left. I bet her leg wouldn’t be covered in mud if she had just stayed... just sayin’.
Tumblr media
Not a great sign that she’s practically passed out and can’t form words.
Tumblr media
I looked up the song Ricca’s singing here since you never know, might have some good ol’ symbolism and pertain thematically to the story, why else put a song in, y’know? And: “a Jewish hymn recited on Friday night before the Sabbath (Shabbat) meal. The poem is based on the legend of the sages in the Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Shabbat.”
And yeah, from what these translations tell me, there are angels.
Tumblr media
Oh boy, Clementine’s not doing so good. She won’t wake up, Ricca’s crying, and Olivia’s...still not doing much tbh.
Tumblr media
Oh boy, a boat... I wonder if that boat will take them to an island community, hmm?
I actually really like this page, but mostly for everything except the characters. The sky is lovely and I like the texture of the sand. The characters don’t look too bad, even here they look better than they might’ve in Book One, but still.
Also I wonder if we’re going to get another dream sequence? I mean, is it really a Clementine story without a Lee dream shoved in? And if Clementine’s passed out, this is the perfect opportunity.
Unless Tillie decides to give her a different dream involving AJ, or Kenny... actually I’ll be surprised if AJ gets another appearance or a mention in the rest of the trilogy. He’s not important, y’know... blegh.
Tumblr media
There we have it.
Clementine, Ricca, and Olivia got away from the two dudes who grabbed them, Clementine’s leg is probably infected and she’s sick with fever, and they’re going to get help from a boat in the distance who will likely bring them to the island community.
Once again: Do y’all have thoughts? Are you excited for Clementine Book Two? I doubt you are since most aren’t, but you never know.
Personally, I’m excited to be disappointed, but hopeful to be proven wrong. Either way, I win.

His eyes travel down until they land on the streaks on either leg.
“Awww, look at the little pissy boy.” He says mockingly with a faux pout, looking at him through his eyelashes, his eyebrows furrowed.

Talking to people about Billy irl is truly a game of chance because they'll either say they were so sad he died or that they thought he was such a hot bad boy. I'm there like....yeeeeeeah I didn't deeply relate to him on such a level it literally shifted the path my life was on or anything

I was used to scary mean Star in SoS but as I was reading Hold On he seemed to be like the most submissive little guy ever but oh man I reached the part where they escaped and mr. Star destroyed dannyboi… you write them so well AHHH… the same with Daniel, I didn’t find him particularly dominant in Hold On but he was definitely the more dominant of the two (IMO), playing the good boy part when it was needed and that’s it…but oh man, my boy is getting slapped and he’s like yummm 🥵
I don’t make sense when I’m excited but yeah I just wanted to praise your OC and writing skillssss 🥸 imma keep reading

oh my gosh, you have no idea how hard I've been laughing and I love this. I love your description of Star and Daniel so much! Yeeeeeeah, there is a difference between SoS Star and his character in Hold On, but there is some areas where they do end up overlapping. He can be a surprising goof at times. Love him and Daniel to death though and I'm so glad you've been enjoying the story! Thank you so much for your kind words and love of the characters!

How long has it been?
Yet you still hear the roar of the flames Still feel his claws digging into your skin And can still feel the heat of his breath on your neck
Or maybe that is the burning of the past With fires that you can’t escape.
