Do you have tips for drawing/designing Xeno styled inkfish? They’re so shaped

of course!

Generally when I draw xenos, I try to emphasise non-human traits as much as possible by incorporating in real-life cephalopod biology. Basically I try to make it extremely obvious that what you're looking at isn't human, but actually something else entirely.

A good start is to do away with joints/bones entirely, and to add spots/patterns to the skin to make it appear less mammalian. Suckers on the fingers and faintly-pigmented skin also help as well.

The eyes are also another important thing! Most pelagic squids have round pupils in real life, but I tend to draw inklings with horizontal pupils anyway as it helps achieve that creaturely effect I'm going for.

Of course everyone has their own unique approach to xeno inkfish, these are merely suggestions and not a ruleset or anything haha. It’s taken me a while to find a style I’ve found most comfortable, and even then I regularly change stuff as I learn more about cephalopods. The beauty of xeno designs is that it's entirely up to you where you decide to go with it. You don’t even have to be realistic, literally the only baseline is creature!

I have a question for your Sonic inversed Au

Did Extra Life (Xeno) ever find out about Sonic?

Sorry for Responding late! I’ve moved to another blog @serephin-arc where I will be posting the upcoming comic and more AU stuff!

But to answer your question, yes. At some point in the story Xeno finds out about Prime Sonic and decides to fight him to prove that he’s the better Sonic.

Later on he finds out that Prime Sonic is in fact NOT his Universe’s Sonic and well he almost has a breakdown realizing that there’s Alternate versions of Sonic (because now he has to compete with all of them)!

Nautilus! The silly goofy creature!

These guys are quite rare in most societies, with less than a million around the world. Almost their entire bodies are covered in a massive shell that they can retract into as a defence! They also sleep and sit down in there too, it’s very funny-looking.

I didn’t change much from the actual game because they are perfect Though I did make some alterations.

Natuli have a total of 11 limbs (much less than a real Nautilus, I know). They have four arms, four tentacles and three legs. The tentacles have a sheath that they retract into (the bit with the spots!) The third leg is actually what later evolved into a tail in Inklings and Octolings, but Nautili kept it as they still need extra support for their heavy shells. FYI They walk on two legs, but they stand on three.

Nautili are born with their shells, and cannot remove them or repair them if they are chipped or cracked. As a result, they take extremely good care of their shells, always polishing it and stuff.

Unlike Inkfish, these guys have no suckers, no ink sac and they only have a single heart. They have four kidneys though, so i guess that makes up for it. They also have no chromatophores, so they can’t change colour and are always a shade of whitish-pink and red.

Though since they are cephalopods, they’ve got blue blood and a beak. It isn’t nearly as strong as a inkfish though, but strong enough to easily bite off your fingers with a single chomp.

Being a rather rare species, Nautilus-specific services such as clothing and healthcare are unfortunately hard to come by if you don’t live in the city, so most Nautili live in urban areas.
