Boots scraped against the surface of the floor. Another child, eh? Xehanort's form kept calm as Xenmas guided him towards Marxiia's room, his hands kept behind his back. Once the two got to Marxiia's door, Xehanort slid in to knock the door himself.

"Master,'' Xenmas spoke up, placing a hand over his chest. "Am I excused?"

''If you wish to be. Though, he may want you around, now that you're back in one piece," Xehanort replied, after a moment of thought. His hand finally unfroze, and he knocked on the surface of the door. He cracked open the door, poking his head in.

"Marxiia, correct?'' he spoke, his gravel tone sounding quite different to what the boy had been used to in Xenmas.

shout out to the 11-15 year olds who wrote Kingdom Hearts fan fiction about the Organization and did a bunch of female ocs + self inserts for the sole purpose of mocking the Organization/driving Xenmas and Saïx up the wall. you are my heroes

It's not that complicated. Ansem was actually Xenmas, who was also Xehanort, though not to be confused with Ansem, who was banished into Nothingness by his apprentices where he chose to become DiZ (Darkness in Zero), choosing to become darkness into Nothingness rather than darkness into Darkness (it's not important), and Xehanort, in order to allow himself to time travel had to establish his self throughout the ages, had to seperate the Hearts of compatible disciples leaving behind their Heartless (which would strengthen Kingdom Hearts) and their Nobodies who he could copy his essence into ensuring his path into the future to time travel to.... wait... Okay, so Sora....

figured i'd make this a proper post rather than let it be lost in my replies, but the gist is: luxord seems to view xemnas as his boss, and nothing more. there's none of that superior stuff embedded in it, except maybe sardonically.

luxord isn't opposed to speaking his opinion about his status in the organization — admittedly this is more visible in khiii (which makes sense, as things are coming to a head and coming to light), but i do still believe it's visible beforehand. luxord expresses his unease and discontentment rather freely, although he isn't outright rude about it.

to him, xemnas really is just his boss, while others seem to also fear or respect xemnas. he calls vexen on being wrapped around xemnas' finger, and xigbar did not seem to expect luxord to actually approach xemnas to get a solid answer.

there's also something about luxord being the only one who isn't second in the hierarchy in some way (by number or chain of command) being left in the final bit of khii, which... i don't know what to make of that honestly, but it is interesting. did he managed to talk his way out of some other foolish death mission?? did he just outright state that he'd prefer to be around for this, and that was so out of left field that xemnas was like sure?? it's like... he's not a kiss-ass, which might be getting him a little further than others, in a way.

This guy is the best friend of Xion and Roxas, big-brother-type of person. He introduced Roxas to sea-salt ice cream, who in turn introduced Xion to it, and eventually they became a trio of friends who looked out for each other and hung out together, especially to gaze at the sunset from their favorite spot in Twilight Town. Axel looked out for both of them, and protected them. Xion had limited memories when she first arrived on Denny, but now she's forgotten everything. Again, those who are part of your heart can't truly be forgotten..right?
