Ideas i'd love to see in an X-COM like game:

More focus on the guerilla war of xcom2. Let me freely choose where to attack. Maybe the weapon factory to get more guns or the prison to free some comrades. I want a map full of potential targets and the ability to choose when to attack which one. And i want the enemies to react to it by fortifying the areas i often attack.

Recurring maps. If the enemy attacks a location twice or thrice i want the map to stay the same and maybe even remember the last battles.

More enemies with personality, like the chosen. If they'd actually remember our former encounters or command their units in unique ways, it would make them even more interesting rivals.

My favorite thing about the Thin men in XCOM is how in this one concept art it looks like they look like they could absolutely kill it on the dance floor. Like yes king, work it!
