While any magic lesson of value should include the dangers of distracted casting, our Conjuration Masters are particularly strict about enforcing proper spellcasting form. The school of Conjuration is well known among those with even the most minuscule amount of arcane knowledge as one of the most volatile. Working with Daedra is never so straightforward, especially when one must account for their distinct lack of interest in working with you.

Those unfamiliar with the history surrounding Conjuration as a viable spellcasting discipline may not be aware of just how perilous even a single attempt at reaching into Oblivion once was, nor just how often new, aspiring Conjuration Mages met their unfortunate ends during their studies. Before the efforts of one Corvus Direnni to simplify and secure the process, practitioners were expected to balance two equally difficult and imperative components; a spell of summoning, and a rune to bind the resulting summon. As I said, Daedra are highly aggressive and irritatingly stubborn, and would like nothing more than to disembowel you where you stand. Thus, a simple summon without the element of binding— and thus enthrallment of the entity— would, and has, ended in bloodshed.

Though these two components have now been combined into a single, far more stable summoning ritual, Conjuration still remains a delicate and perilous practice, and thus should be treated with the respect and attention it deserves— for the sake for your studies, and your wellbeing.
