RAGHHH I need to ramble about the Red Dwarf universe/world building bc it's just so GOOD and it just makes me happy-

LIKE- I adore the world that's set up for us. With the idea of human beings taking to the stars and terrorforming and building civilisations on the planets/moons across the solar systems. I desperately want to know more about what life is like on each planet, like we've been told about Io as it's where Rimmer is from, and we've seen like little snippets here and there. We've seen the Ganymede Hotel (I think) in 'Stasis Leak'. I feel like the one we really know the most about is Mimas, at the very least from the books, as it's where Rimmer and Lister first meet. We learn that it's a bit of a party planet, that they have an extra weekday so that people can recover from all the drinking. We know that they're famous for their bladderfish and fine dining - as well as their brothels, etc.

I love this bit of the Better than Life book, because of how much world lore we get packed in just one section, like it honestly speaks for itself AGH-

BUT I WANT TO KNOW MOREEE!! Things like calendars/years on each of the planets. They rotate around the sun at different rates, so how does their calendar adapt to that? Do they have any unique holidays or celebrations? So many little questions-

I'd pay good money to watch a show set before the accident, looking at the different planets in more detail, which I know we might be getting with Rob Grants little project, which should be interesting-

And that the different companies that are set up, like Divadroid and Crapola Inc. (where Talkie Toaster is from), what company made the holograms? What are the biggest/most popular companies in the solar system? Little things like this, that are completely useless knowledge but I just wanna know 👏👏

Not to mention Space Corp as whole- I wanna know so much more about it, like who is in charge, how much control do they have over the universe, and more importantly who the hell wrote the Space Corp directives?? bc they are so goofy- 😭

can i just say the fucking way riddles are marked on the map sucks ass in this game. first of all the way most of them mark off an area instead of just where the answer is is frustrating at the best of times. and also the final riddle on founders island for me i just had to google the location of because despite the map saying i know where it is from an informant it is NOT marked on there and the reason why is because after you finish the pyg side quest they remove the pretty dolls parlor location marker. and the riddle was in there. couldnt even put the riddle mark over the building. dumb as hell

Like imagine the shows right- like we already know from Chilli and Pom Pom's mum talking that STRANGER THINGS exists in the bluey verse😭 so, we can assume lots of other media does too. It would make sense, kaon has a major air pollution issue to the point it’s described as degrading optics and audials in just a few years. The second-lens-frame-thing would provide more protection so evolutionarily it makes Sense.

It makes even more sense that not every bot from there has them! Cold construction aside, there’s no need for bots anywhere else to have optics like that so they wouldn’t have cropped up in other cities. Meanwhile, the death rates in kaon were so high and at that point natural selection kinda ends up crapping out. The allspark didn’t know if making bots with them was working so not all bots got em

one of my favorite things to do when replaying pmd sky is try to pay more attention to the Treasure Town residents throughout the story. there is ALWAYS new stuff after every little story beat even in places u never think to look and i find something new every playthrough. like i had no idea u could meet Sneasel as early as the start of the Dusknoir chapter!! thats so cool!!
