there is something so special about podcast live shows. about a room filled with people who share your same hyper-niche interest, about cheering when characters are introduced and iconic lines are said, about participating in the noise. it makes you feel understood, known, celebrated, and above all else, heard.

Guys, in honour of Cecil doing so well on the sexyman polls, I think we should start a podcast centric sexyman poll. We have enough of them it could work.
Drop your male(?) specimen in the rbs.

I love how all over the podcasting world we recognized Felix Trench's potential to play weeping hysterical little man and just made it his whole career after wooden Overcoats
(that's about the silt verses appearances but could be about a lot of things)

@disasterdrow I have been summoned to convince people to listen to Wooden Overcoats so convince I shall
first the official summary :
Tumblr media
second, my review of it :
Probably one of the funniest most ridiculous shows I've ever listened to, and above the brilliant comedy, it's a heartwarming story about family, friendship, community, growing together and doing your best,, it's insanely well written and Rudyard and Antigone Funn will live in your mind forever, this show literally has so much to offer I have no idea why it's not much more popular,, it's splendidly original !! never heard anything quite like it before and never did after, it's truly one of the best shows I've ever listened to,, it's comedy with the most devastatingly human core, ridiculous in appearance and yet deeply real in everything else it conveys
and the narrator is a mouse, come on people give it a try

Realistic drawing of that one wooden Overcoats episode
wanna know what mental image just crept into my brain?
a clown funeral where the pallbearers accidentally drop the casket and like fifteen dead clowns fall out

[2023] TOP 20 PODCASTS ON AO3 FOUND IN FANDOMS > OTHER MEDIA
To make this ranking, all series titles in Other Media were copy-pasted to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then manually filtered since not all podcasts were marked as such.
The numbers under each rank indicate how much they rose/fell in the rankings based on last year's (Oct. 24, 2023) rankings, which can be found here. The gray numbers in parenthesis indicate how much fanworks it gained since last year.
The data for this year and last year's rankings were taken while logged in, so lcoked fanworks are included in the count.
A few web series like Critical Role and Dimensions 20 released audio-only versions of their works too, but I left them out since they were listed was a web series on ao3 and more known as one too.
Cabin Pressure has also been left off the list this time since its podcast format was only released in 2019, years after it aired on the radio.
All nonfiction podcasts have also been excluded (Not that there were many), because with RPFs, it’s hard to tell if the fic in question is just based on the podcast or because of the things the person has done outside of it. Last year, I accidentally included The Misfits in the list since I didn't realize from its description that it was nonfiction.
The Two Princes (Podcast) ranks 21st in the rankings this year, and actually ranked 20th last year when the rankings are adjusted to exclude Cabin Pressure and The Misfits.
The College Tapes is actually a spinoff of The Bright Sessions.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏

It's me, back with more Wooden overcoats Muppet au.
Firstly, on the debate of "who is the human". I decided there should be three and a half.
The first one is, of course, Eric Chapman. My reasoning is that this real ass human man trying to people please muppets is very funny, AND ALSO, it'll further emphasize his disconnect from the people of Piffling Vale.
The second one is Georgie, for similar reasons to Eric, actually. She's also rather disconnected in a way from the community, and also, kind of an audience insert, making her a human just makes sense to me.
The third one is real human man David k Barnes playing doctor Edgware. Because it makes so much sense.
And finally, the half part, I think every episode should open and close with real life human woman Belinda Lang, wearing mouse ears, playing Madeline reading from her memoir on a rocking chair. Bonus points if, for the rest of the time, Madeline is not played by anything and is in fact, not on set, but everyone pretends she's there, talking directly to where Madeline should be.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

I said it once and I'll say it again
Rudyard funn is skrunkly, but I'll abuse him for character development.

I will do one better eventually
But that's its
That's the Arthur's I'm collecting all around the big world.
The points of intersection on the very limited space of my bad editing are:
All four of them: "strange little man"
Voncid, Arthur, Rudyard: Don't know how technology works
Rudyard, Horacio, Arthur: Maniac Energy
Horacio, Rudyard, Voncid: wtf is going on with you guys
Voncid, Horacio, Arthur: kind of immortal
Rudyard, Voncid: works with the dead, depressed
Rudyard, Horacio: strangely self aware pets
Arthur, Voncid: collects stories, intricate rituals with men and death. (Should I add bad memory too? Or like too soon?)
Horacio, Arthur; an astonishing sense of fashion
