@tsunderewatermelon also asked for prompt 26, "as an apology" and gave me a choice of ships... so here is Wednesday/Bianca!
Tumblr media
It's the fault of the music, blasting from the speakers of the ballroom next door.
It's the fault of the low lights, lending a veil of unreality to their corner of the world.
It's the loneliness that neither can dispel. It's that they are both predators, tolerated but never fully accepted. It's unexpected kinship and the sour taste of dashed hopes.
"You're lucky. You don't care what people think of you."
"Honestly, I wish I cared a little more."
They get lost in their shared misery, Bianca's pale eyes meeting Wednesday's black. Bianca makes the first move, resting her weight on one arm and leaning towards her former nemesis. The air is charged with tension, but Wednesday has never been one to back down.
The kiss is brief, but intoxicating. They fight for control, teeth clashing, and yet this is the first time in a long time either of them has felt truly free.
When she pulls back, black lipstick darkens the commissure of Bianca's lips. Wednesday licks at her own lips, knowing her pupils are blown wide.
A bridge is forged between them, at once an apology and a promise. From this moment on, they'll no longer be enemies.

Two things about the dance episode that I thought nothing of the first time I watched it, and can now see was some genius foreshadowing:
Thornhill picking "extinction event" as the theme for the Rave'n, because that's what she wants for all the outcasts (but using climate change as her cover).
The awkward encounter between her and Tyler. I'd originally thought she was just flustered because she's a misfit who doesn't expect people to notice/recognize her, but really she's panicking because she wasn't expecting to run into him there and doesn't want anyone figuring out what they're up to. And Tyler throws Wednesday off their trail by making up the explanation that they recognize each other because she's a regular at the Weathervane.

“Enid opens her mouth and I put a single finger over her mouth to stop her”
“They robbed us of this” lmao the delusions!!! Jenna would physically cringe if she had to act that out.
She would never, despite what the delusional fans think.
She wouldn't and DIDN'T EVER say the maudlin bullshit she said to Tyler during their break from the dance in the hall. What the fuck sort of braindead bullshit is that even? The Mejia treatment of the whole Rave'N might irritate me the most out of everything, and probably because I'm having to defend Wyler because of it.
Ship goggles off: The Rave'N episode was about Wednesday relaxing her stringent "no potential non-platonic relationships" stance with the little push that Thing gave her (yes, he manipulated this, but he did it because he sensed that Wednesday liked Tyler and vice versa). It was where we all got to see Wednesday Addams be herself in front of other people without a care in the world to what she looked like, dancing to a song about oral sex and focused on that boy. She literally "ducked" for him during the song and was dancing for him à la Addams Family lore/tradition. Her movements are literally like her parents, humorously seductive (the clams/her miming):

We are Tyler here. Her famous, too-often reproduced photo still of her with her arms up — that's Tyler's POV.
And to completely fuck with it the way Mejia did (turning it into a Wenclairfest) is insulting to this canon. It's insulting to Ortega's work, and remember, she stupidly filmed this scene COVID positive. (As a microbiologist's kid, I have very strong feelings about COVID and other highly communicable and deadly diseases.) She risked getting other people sick to film this as it was filmed, and to take her art and modify it so that it serves your own purposes instead of providing an accurate description of what was depicted on screen in an official publication is self-centered, insulting, and disrespectful to the actress that they purport to love.
But like I said...she would never do anything that was modified in the Mejia book because none of it was anything canon Wednesday would do. Yet the abject delusion is strong:

Conversation
Thing (signing) after realizing that Tyler was the Hyde all along: So, about me trying to set you up with a serial killer ...
Wednesday: We never speak of it.
Thing (signing): Okay.
