HxH as Wizards!

(Main 4 + Phantom Troupe)

Finally getting around to doing these! This is huge nostalgia indulgent for me as I’ll be using Wizard101 as a reference for classes and types. Though don’t worry if you never played the game, you should be able to understand either way.

I’ll be keeping things short as there are many characters to get through!

Gon

✥ He is a Fire wizard to me. Though focuses on one time hits rather than damage over time spells.

✥ Always the team hitter but he might die before he gets to deal damage because he forgets to watch his health.

✥ For his “wand” or let’s say what he channels magic from, he wears Gauntlets!

Killua

✥ Based off his Nen ability you’d think I’d go with Storm because “lightning” but he is in fact an Ice wizard!

✥ Does his best to tank enemy spells for Gon but he’s rarely targeted.

✥ Killua would use a ton of stun spells.

✥ He conducts his magical energy through a typical Wand, though it’s some high class shit.

Kurapika

✥ I’m going solely off the colors and aesthetic for Kurapika and I say he is a Myth wizard!

✥ Given in a team with the main 4, he would be second hitter.

✥ Despite being Myth I feel like he wouldn’t do a lot with summoning/controlling minions and focus his energy on other spells.

✥ To be honest he looks like he’d own a Staff so that’s that.

Leorio

✥ Very obviously Life wizard right here.

✥ He almost has no offensive spells in his deck as he puts all his energy into healing.

✥ Only attack he has is his “wand attack” because he channels his magic through a Dagger.

Chrollo

✥ This man is so obviously a Death wizard it would be a crime to say anything else. Literally stealing other’s life for himself.

✥ Instead of mainly focusing on spells, I feel like he would really like Potion making.

✥ Undead creatures have a natural liking to him.

✥ I really want to say he’d channel his magic through a Spellbook but please just imagine this man with a Staff made from rotting/dead wood paired with a big traditional witch hat and tell me it’s not perfect.

Nobunaga

✥ Hear me out, he’s a semi-weak Storm wizard.

✥ It’s not that I think his spells Fizzle a lot or anything, he’s just not a big hitter. Like how in canon he’s an Enhancer but not physically all that strong!

✥ He would have a normal Wand to conduct his energy.

Feitan

✥ We have another Death wizard over here.

✥ I feel like he would constantly hunt Spellements to make his offensive spells more “painful”.

✥ Death is a great class for all categories and I feel Feitan definitely focuses on the offensive aspect where as Chrollo puts more focus on the defensive side.

✥ He channels his magic through a Sword.

Machi

✥ She’s a Life wizard however you wouldn’t know that at first glance.

✥ Machi carries majority damage dealing spells and a few heals.

✥ She is big into crafting and probably made most of the Troupe’s attire/armor.

✥ I don’t know why but she gives me dainty Wand vibes.

Hisoka

✥ Ok a lot of people might not agree with me here, but he’s a Storm wizard. Think of the gambling aspect that comes with never knowing if your spells will hit or not.

✥ I feel like he would teach himself some Fire spells to trick people what his class is.

✥ I can’t explain it but I feel like he channels his magic through a small Crystal Ball.

Kalluto

✥ Listen, going off aesthetic and vibes, he’s a Life wizard.

✥ He uses a lot of spells to buff his team members and taunt enemies but doesn’t do a lot of healing either.

✥ I saw concept art of a Fan as a Wizard101 wand so obviously he’d use that.

Phinks

✥ Based off Nen and strength, he’d be Fire. HOWEVER, I will not miss the opportunity to make this man a Balance wizard because of the Egyptian influence.

✥ He puts his heart and soul into mastering offensive Balance spells but the Troupe will jokingly ask him to buff them.

✥ If we do use Wizard101 worlds he’s so clearly from Krokotopia.

✥ I feel like he would conduct his magic through Gauntlets as well.

Shalnark

✥ Another painful obvious one here, he is a Myth wizard.

✥ He will summon great minions and have them do all the work while he relaxes. Literally if he does anything it’s to buff them.

✥ He actually knows a ton of spells from many classes but for the sole purpose of just saying he knows them and has no need to utilize them.

✥ He is a Spellbook type guy, just look at the official art on this post.

Franklin

✥ It takes me no time to look at this man and say he’s definitely Ice.

✥ He actually is a fairly good hitter though doesn’t get many chances to show it.

✥ I don’t know why but I feel like he’d channel his energy through a Hammer.

Shizuku

✥ I honestly wasn’t sure to put her as but I think Death is our best bet.

✥ I don’t think she’d utilize her class to the fullest. Like she’ll have some support/defensive spells and just normal damage spells. Not drain spells that actually steal enemies’ life and replenish her own.

✥ I’m going to be very specific here and say she channels magic through a Glaive.

Pakunoda

✥ She is such an Ice wizard to me it’s insane.

✥ Ok so even though Franklin, the other Ice of the Troupe is built for the job, I’m placing Paku as the tank. Don’t judge a book by its cover type thing.

✥ I feel like she would also be a master in taught spells.

✥ Basic but I feel like she would use a Bow and Arrow.

Bonolenov

✥ Here we have the most conventional Balance wizard in the Troupe.

✥ This man actually fits into his support role and buffs other members and traps enemies like a pro.

✥ I have no idea why but he also reads as a Crystal Ball user.

Uvogin

✥ This man his an undoubtedly a Storm wizard.

✥ Obviously the Troupe’s heaviest hitter and he doesn’t take crazy long to work up a good attack.

✥ A piece of his soul dies every time one of his spells fizzle and he has to deal with Nobunaga and Phinks teasing (he’s yelling back and not letting it show).

✥ Taking this right from canon but he conducts energy from a big Club.

Illumi

✥ Ok so he’s a Myth wizard BUT I feel like he spends all of his time learning Moon spells. Which for those who don’t know allow you to morph into enemies.

✥ Has fairly ok minions when he actually uses them.

✥ I feel like he’d channels magic through a pair of Shuriken.

Kortopi

✥ Ok I genuinely don’t know if I would place this child as a Balance or Life wizard. I love Kortopi but he has so little character it’s hard to write for.

✥ I know in the art he has a big staff but I get Spellbook vibes.

Kastiel

✥ Not just off his Nen ability, but also off traits of the game he is undoubtedly a Fire wizard.

✥ He secretly wishes he was Storm for the aesthetic and bigger power potential.

✥ He uses damage over time spells to the best utility and often the enemy is dead way before they run out.

✥ He conducts his magic through dual Kukri Knives.

✰ once you talk to him about it though, he’ll be sure to answer within a couple hours

✰ he’d save your contact as a pet name, personally i can see him using “sunshine” or “honey” for you

✰ but once he does learn he’ll use a cute coupley picture of you guys from one of your first dates

✰ would only call if he’s checking up on you, like when you’re sick or he’s on an adventure

✰ will use the most abysmal, disrespectful picture he has of you

✰ your name on his phone is either an inside joke or an insult like “sleeping ugly 🧚‍♀️” (he’s out for blood omg you overslept once)

✰ he’ll change it to something else whenever you see it, which you will eventually

Au where Gon was foretold he would be the greatest knight in the land (medieval times) and so he goes working on making that come true, working under knights as squires, training in different kingdoms, until one day he finally gets hired under a prominent kingdom as a knight and he’s like ‘nice! Im on my way to my destiny!’

Then, just as Gon hoped, the king gives him a big journey to go on for great glory but then the king also assigns him with a wizard Killua, a fighter Kurapika and a healer Leorio. Its not what he was expecting for his great quest, but he wont let it slow him down to be the greatest knight! The dungeons and dragon quest begins.

Oh I have! (also sorry I started typing an answer to this about a month ago and then got distracted and forgot about it. whoops!)

I think if you wanted to make a rpg system to fit in the hxh world I would suggest going totally homebrew or adapting some other system like fate to fit the needs (I've played fate adapted w/ Jojo stands). 

But if you want to know which hxh characters I think would be what particular dnd class... Here’s what I would pick.

Opinion: I love the way this writer world builds and fits the two crossover universes into each other. The romances she writes tend to be very hetero and *insert yikes face here* but since most romance is a side thing in her writing I’m willing to overlook that in favor of the amazing world-building.

This fic does a really good job of crossing over HxH with HP and how they would work together. Like the difference between magic and Nen. As well as world-building both worlds separately and concurrently. Calling characters out without bashing. 

That said most of her fics are probably abandoned. On 31-03-2018 her PC died and she said that she was going to update us on it when she figured out if she could fix it or if she had to replace it. Since it’s now 23-04-2020 one can be lead to believe that it will not be updated further.

Okmg happy halloween

I didn’t make this art to be on purpose for halloween but I mean it looks kind of like a halloween thing so i guess it is.

I was listening to Amygdalas Ragdoll and I was like holy crap its Retz from the Hunter x Hunter movie The Phantom Rouge.

 I feel like the only good things that the movies gave me were Kurapikas backstory & Pairo, Retz, and just how freaking ridiculous they were. 

In the second movie I think it would make more sense if like. The whole power system thing that was introduced which I think was called On would be this guy Jets Nen ability and he was just crazy enough that it made everybody think it was its own power system. Part of the Nen ability would be able to let others sign a Nen contract to obtain the same power that he has.

Anyways The Phantom Rouge is a lot better than The Last Mission in my opinion.

I freaking love Retz she has such wasted potential and I hate how much hate i’ve seen for him. I think its bc of shipping wars and urrrr uuurrgghhh errrrrr no. I don’t ship Retz with anybody and I don’t think I need to. Just shut the up and let Killua and Gon and Retz be friends!!!! 

It was really annoying but also really funny how Killua was so freaking pissy about Retz like. “Oh you’re standing up for yourself?? Oh?? Oh? Wel” 💥💥💥

I really like how Retz stood up for himself though instead of just having Gon doing it for her. It just shows that she's even more of an awesome character.

IM SO MAD THAT THEY KILLED HER OFF THOUGH but at least the fire scene was epic. The whole thing about Retz being a doll or whatever too was cool and also I wish that they did more with Omokage and Retz’s relationship as siblings. 

That’s another interesting thing that Killua and Retz could have gotten along over. Obviously Retz would probably be more open about talking abt his brother and Killua err... Yea I don’t think he would be very eager to talk about Illumi lol.

Omokage also could have been an awesome character but im sorry... HES SO FREAKING EDGY THAT I CANT. WHAT IS HIS CHARACTER DESIGN.

He looks like a Wizard 101 boss im not even lying... 

I want a better interpretation of his character. The ex-phantom troupe member is a cool concept and oh my god. The nen ability concept is great too. I love how creepy it is with the puppets and the eyes, but it could use some working out. I forgot how it worked, but the fact that he used the phantom troupe and Pairo was bizzare. 

His personality from what I remember is interesting too. He seems to want to protect Retz and have her be happy but he really is not doing a good job at that. Given that he uses people and puppets in his nen ability, and the fact that he is an ex-phantom troupe member obviously makes him cold-hearted. 

What about their parents too?? ahh I have to watch this movie again.

I think that his character was this way because it was in the movie, which is made of Non canon material, and these characters were only gonna exist in this like 90 minute movie so they weren’t going to be as deep or as memorable as the main characters or anybody in the main series. Retz did stick with me, though.

If HxH happens in Hogwarts

Part 1:

Kurapika met Leorio before both of them received their letters. Leorio is a muggle-born who had no idea about his powers but unconsciously displays it from time to time. Kurapika is an outcast who watches him from the bushes and uncertain if he should befriend him.

When they become friends, Kurapika taught him all sorts of magic that he knew and told him about Hogwarts and that they should receive their letters soon. He secretly hopes that Leorio will be placed on the same house as he will.

Kurapika ended up being in Slytherin but he didn't mind since he wanted to learn dark arts and build connection to fulfill his goals.

Leorio ended up in Hufflepuff and he was dumbfounded on his way to join the table since he didn't believe himself to be kind and loyal.

Kurapika made a sad glance at Leorio from his house's table. The latter missed it since he was happily talking with his seatmate named Zepile.

Gon had no idea how to get to platform 9 3/4 since his dad who is a wizard left him while he was little and it was just recently that he discovered his ancestry after meeting his father's friend, Kite.

Gon met Killua on King's Cross, the latter offered to show him how to get to platform 9 3/4 so he could sneak away from his nagging mom and little siblings.

Gon was instantly placed in Gryffindor and he seemed happy about it.

Killua, though all of his relatives are in Slytherin, was miraculously (with the help of bargaining with the Sorting Hat) placed in Gryffindor.
