I mean they try to act like he looks really old in the show, and the first time I watched it he did, I was also thirteen at the time so he seemed like an adult

However, upon rewatching, he is absolutely every dumbass twenty year old who has no clue what they’re doing

An adult doesn’t respond to anything that happened like that, a young 20 something college student however, peak behaviour

And everyone acts like he looks like an adult, but have you ever seen a college freshman?

The scrappy beard that won’t fill out for a couple years yet, the awful suit meant to impress someone, we’re unclear who, and the haircut

And don’t get me started on the absolutely abysmal flirting with Kurapika, that is every single bisexual man trying to figure themselves out in the freedom of college

This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author's personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn't gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning--she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.

genuinely being a tv enjoyer in this current time sucks balls because tv is trying to do what movies do and it makes it WORSE. the best part about tv is that you spend time with it consistently week after week year after year and now because tv shows are fractured and have the budget of major movies they're becoming shorter with way longer time between seasons and it hurts the one (at least to me) best thing about tv!! which is that it's reliable and consistent and has longevity because tv is a long form format!!! But it's being pushed into being made more short term like movies because of all these economic pressures and bonkers expectations. I'm sick of it!!! I'm sick of tv shows being acclaimed when they don't feel like tv shows as if that's a bad thing!!! I'm sick of waiting 2-4 years for 4-8 episodes. I'm sick of reading about the best writers in the business not being able to make a living. I'm sick of it!!!! I want tv back!!! I miss my friend tv!
