nct 127 as demigods!

authors note: i have no time to even be doing this i don't know where it came from but the pjo brainrot and phase is so real and back with a vengence so please enjoy while i hope i won't be failing my mathematics final. and yes, i absolutely want to write a full fledged fic based on this.

Mark: as a son of Poseiden!

listen...this man is everywhere and is so important that its no surprise he's the child of one of the big three.

has a natural affinity for swordplay.

used to depend on his swordsmanship a lot more than his inherited powers from his father but learned to strike a balance between both as he grew older.

has a very obvious, clearly powerful aura, but he's also Just A Guy.

when he first arrived to camp, everyone thought he was a child of Hypnos actually because he quite literally slept through the first two days he was there due to how exhausted he was.

got claimed on the third day and everyone was shocked (yes he's my Percy stand in and what about it)

doesn't really like how much everyone looks up to him, it makes him scared for the moment that he inevitably disappoints them all - or so he thinks.

bro is clueless for the most part but always manages to pull through and get himself out of any situations (*cough* monsters *cough) he finds himself in.

when he's especially emotionally disturbed or angry, he causes earthquakes.

Johnny: as a son of Hecate!

when he was little he didn't really understand how he could make things simply appear or scenes in front of him change by simply imagining it.

it kept him out of a lot of trouble during his younger years.

manipulation of the mist has always come easy to him, he barely even breaks a sweat.

his weapon is an enchanted spear.

it helps channel his power and helps in physical battle as well, though he tends to rely on his powers more.

the spear was a gift from his mother, the only time he's ever met her or spoken to her.

he tends to make people nervous with so much as a glance.

its not just the fact that he has that demigod aura of power- he's just an intimidating figure.

the air of mystery around him is furthered by how private he is, but he's all smiles and jokes if you're a close friend of his.

knowing how easily he can make someone nervous, Johnny uses it to his advantage often, whether it be to get out of trouble or to get his way.

Taeyong: as a son of Iris!

take a moment to see the vision here folks

he totally has the vibe of a hippie rainbow goddess' son.

was brought to chb when he was fourteen, which is relatively old for a demigod.

the colour of his eyes varies and changes according to his moods and emotions.

when the sun hits his hair it seems like that too changes colour and shifts from one shade to another.

once tried to tie-die his camp half-blood shirt with Jaehyun to make it a little more stylish since the both of them were tired of the bright, unflattering orange. lets just say it did not turn out well.

his weapon of choice is a scimtar - a wicked curved blade.

for someone so peaceful and smiley, he's scary when fighting with his scimtar, quick on his feet and downright deadly. unlike his siblings, who tend to despise conflict, he's one of the best fighters.

like all children of Iris, he can create a rainbow barrier for protection

he possesses photokinesis, a rare power among children of iris, in which he can focus an intense beam of prismatic light which will burn anything it touches.

Doyoung: as a son of Athena!

was taken to camp when he was nine and quickly adapted although he was so young.

the definition of a know-it-all, but its kind of in a lovable way.

he has the habit of rambling so his attempts at sounding all knowledgable tend to come off as dorky a lot of time.

make no mistake though, Doyoung is as cunning and resourceful as they get.

although every child of Athena is talented at battle strategy, Doyoung is the one most of the other campers turn to in times of crisis for guidance through any battle.

spends countless hours reading and studying the old stories of great greek heroes and demigods and his favourite is Odysseus.

is proficient with almost all weapon but usually uses a sword.

his fighting style is more calculated than most, his mind is always racing and thinking about weak spots and dissecting his opponents fighting style and flaws.

although a good fighter, he first and foremost relies on his wit and strategic skills and can make use of whatever is at his disposal to hold his own.

Yuta: as a son of Ares!

competitive little bitch (and we love that for him).

got kicked out of three schools because he would pick fights (and win them).

usually leads during capture the flag.

during battle, there tends to be a somewhat manic glow of delight in his eyes because no matter how dangerous the situation is or how bad the odds are, fighting his what he's the best at.

to him, its an art form.

his weapon of choice is a pair of daggers.

usually children of ares don't opt for small weapons as such, and although he has control over any weapon like Doyoung does - though Yuta's control is more innate and in built- he prefers the versatility his daggers give him.

he's quite deadly with them.

the only person that can take him in a fight is Taeyong, and that is also quite rare.

his fighting skills are enhanced when angry or particularly vengeful.

impulsive when it comes to any sort of fighting - prefers to deal with it head on and directly.

Jaehyun: as a son of Aphrodite!

his birthday is literally on valentines day i will not take criticism about this.

bro is literally stunning.

his weapon of choice is a sword.

a surprisingly competent fighter considering his siblings don't particularly enjoy any form of sparring for the most part, and helps out with teaching the younger campers sword fighting.

has the ability to melt anyone with that pretty boy smile of his.

knows exactly how to win someone over and use his natural charm, but doesn't know how to stop it from going too far, which leads to people falling for him left, right and center.

this doesn't mean he's oblivious to those who like him - make no mistake, he is well aware when someone is crushing on him.

unfortunately, he hasn't quite mastered the art of gently letting someone down, which leads to very awkward moments after some poor soul confesses to him.

thus he unwittingly follows the whole 'heartbreaker' agenda the Aphrodite cabin has, though he doesn't approve of it.

doesn't have charmspeak but can tell when its being used on him.

Jungwoo: as a son of Hephastus!

a literal genius.

could solve college level mathematics in the third grade, but his mother never made that fact known - simply because she knew about his demigod nature, being one of the few mortals who could see through the mist.

she didn't want to attract any more attention than necessary.

first came to camp half blood when he was twelve.

can sense how any sort of mechanism works.

possesses pyrokinesis unlike most children of Hephastus, but it takes a lot out of him.

usually relies on his fire manipulation while fighting, but otherwise makes use of an axe as a weapon.

while he is pretty damn good fighter, he prefers to take a backseat and work behind the scenes on weaponry and creating traps to capture or unarm the enemy.

can easily disarm any traps and can sense them if close by, but can also make traps deadlier.

spends a lot of time in forges.

also loves working with the Hermes' campers to construct devices for pranks for fun.

Haechan: as a son of Apollo!

literal sunshine boy.

must protect at all costs but is honestly quite capable of protecting himself and then some.

his mother is a nurse and with her busy schedule he was left alone at home for the most part when he was younger, so being taken to camp half blood by his satyr when he was 10 seemed like the perfect solution.

chose to be an year-round camper since it was safer that way.

an excellent archer.

isn't much of a healer, but if his siblings need help in the infirmary, he'll assist them.

leans into his musical gifts more - his voice can quite literally make anyone stop in their tracks.

if an especially young demigod shows up at camp, he goes out of his way to make sure they're okay, knowing how daunting it all was when he was their age.

gets along well with the Hermes campers due to his mischievous nature.

his favourite trick is putting a rhyming curse on whoever the victim of his prank is.

Taeil: as a son of Demeter!

he's been at camp since he was ten years old.

very level-headed and calm, due to this he often is able to break up any fights started by the Are's cabin.

has an addiction to froot loops.

my boy is badass as hell his weapon is a scythe.

for most people, its too big and bulky to fight with, but he knows just how to make it work.

it takes the form of a hand weeder when not in battle for easy transportation.

can summon, manipulate and and control all sorts of vegetation.

he can make them grow faster but on the flipside can also make them decay quicker.

spends a lot of his time in the strawberry fields since working with working with agriculture is hardwired into him.

has a motherly presence, a lot of campers turn to him for advice.

especially fond of Haechan and is also one of the only reasons the Are's campers haven't gone all psycho on the boy- Taeil is the only one who can calm them down through their bouts of rhyming phrases (which happens suspiciously often).

nct ideal types 2021 :: dream

127 version | this has been on my mind for a bit and I wanted to write it down- these will consist of confirmed facts and then my own thoughts. the latter part is, as it sounds, strictly from my opinion and observation and may well not be accurate. this is just for fun! proceed~

mark lee:

confirmed: likes someone with long black hair who is nice (on air nct show)

my thoughts:

he moved to korea to train when he was like 13 and has been busy as a bee ever since. I don’t know his life but I feel like he hasn’t really had the chance to date much if at all yet. this brings me to think he would prefer someone who can lead in the relationship

he grew up christian and seems to still hold those ideals. although if he really liked someone it wouldn’t be an issue, this makes me think he would be drawn to someone with similar ideals

he laughs a lot and gets along well with people who are funny (haechan, yuta, jungwoo). I think that he would like someone with a good sense of humor

he doesn’t spend money lavishly and prefers to use what he has (i.e. the jansport backpack, not having youtube premium, keeping all the gifts he receives in his bag). all of this points to him preferring someone modest and not wasteful

mark got jisung a bracelet that costs over $1000 for his birthday (what a good bro I’m cry). he likes songs like ‘I got you’ by Bazzi (mark superm quarantine playlist) which is about spoiling a girl. this all makes me think that although he is frugal for himself, he likes spoiling others and would like to spoil his significant other

From Japan official book vol 1, mark said he wasn’t sure what his ideal first date would be, but he answered that it would be to go to a restaurant and have a good meal because he likes eating. So someone who’s down for simple dates and perhaps also good at cooking (because our boy can’t even make an egg)

From the same magazine, he said he doesn’t care about fashion and would like his partner to “wear what she likes”. Doesn’t seem like he goes for style much!

huang renjun:

confirmed: n/a

my thoughts:

I strongly feel like he would want to feel like the ‘man in the relationship’. he would want to feel protective over his partner and that’s why I think he would adore someone smaller than him

he’s full of chaotic rage energy (in the cutest way that would never actually hurt anybody). to balance out these vibes, renjun would match well with someone calm and sweet

looks-wise besides being a petite person, I can envision someone very cute, probably with shorter, un-dyed hair

renjun is into sci-fi movies and shows and confirmed he believes in aliens (weekly idol). I think he’d be drawn to someone with a big imagination who likes sci-fi as well

lee jeno:

confirmed: n/a

my thoughts:

jeno is really really shy (when he met yeeun from clc to mc together, they said they couldn’t even talk at first because it was so awkward). I think jeno would like someone more outgoing but not overwhelming

I feel like his ideal type is literally like renjun- a little fiesty and literally, little. jeno has mentioned that he loves renjun’s voice too, so perhaps he would be interested in someone with a nice voice

he works out a lot and likes physical activities like biking and going to the gym. I think he’d like someone who values fitness and health too

he loves animals and has 3 cats of his own despite being allergic. because of this, I think he’d like a person who loves animals too

lee haechan:

confirmed: someone with a nice voice/ singing voice. someone with shorter hair

my thoughts:

he’s so extroverted and craves attention from whoever he’s around, and that wouldn’t be an exception for the person he likes. he’d want someone who looks up to him and gives him attention

he’s still really young and even enjoys movies like the kissing booth (I’m sorry I had to bring it up because I think it’s important). ignoring the actual bad parts of that movie, I think he’s interested in that young love, dancing together at the arcade, kissing in the rain, come over to his house in secret, type relationship

haechan seems to be especially close friends with foreign swaggers line (mark, johnny, jaehyun) so I’m thinking that perhaps he likes the western vibe

during oshiete Japan, he and Yuta were the only ones who chose to give three roses to a hypothetical ‘lover’ (they had to choose between 4 types of roses to give). the psychologist said that this means haechan is “flirty and attention-seeking” which makes a lot of sense. this adds to my point that he would like someone who gives him a lot of attention and good reactions

during a recent fansign (1/23?) OP asked “what are things girls do that makes you flattered?” to which he answered “when I did something wrong and get scolded, that scary look makes me flattered”. although it’s a bit awkwardly translated, this insinuates that he likes it when he gets scolded by a girl. *jaemin voice* sexayyy. thus, I’m adding that haechan likes a someone strong headed and not afraid to scold him

na jaemin:

my thoughts:

he has a sort of 180 personality where he’s either really energetic or prefers to be in the background. jeno says that jaemin hardly talks at the dorms after schedules because his social battery is dead. this is classic introvert behavior so I think he would vibe well with someone patient and calm

he’s the sweetest boy and he volunteers often for unicef and was even cast to sm while he was volunteering. he’d appreciate someone who shares similar values and likes helping others

I think he often doesn’t think or worry about himself. he goes out of his way to please others and help others and often disregards what he actually wants because of it (i.e. taking his shirt off at the dream show even though he was uncomfortable I’m so sad poor baby). he needs someone who is thoughtful and who reminds him when it’s time to stop and think of himself

looks-wise, I’m gonna be completely honest when I say I think he doesn’t go for looks. personality and morals are key

his favorite member of snsd is tiffany. he never confirmed if she was his ideal type, but perhaps he’s attracted to her bubbly, girly personality

zhong chenle:

confirmed: he’s only into girls (vlive)

my thoughts:

this may be a stretch, but in a live he was doing, chenle was talking about which member of wayv princesses was the prettiest. he said something along the lines of ‘ew they all looked weird’ but later admitted that kun was probably the only one who ‘looked okay’. kun was snow white which brings me to my first prediction which is that lele likes the classic chinese beauty (black hair, pale skin, elegant, gentle)

chenle loves winning and he loves to be praised. although his mbti shows that he’s an introvert, he would crave the full attention of his s/o. someone who looks only at him

during the from home live, he was asked to act out a scenario where he accidentally ate his girlfriend’s food. haechan (who was acting as the girlfriend) went “buy me 10 more” and chenle just went “okay :)”. ngl, kinda fell in love with him then but this makes me think he’d want someone to spoil

park jisung:

confirmed: likes it when people call him 오빠 (oppa) - take this how you will

my thoughts:

debuting at 14, I’m quite sure he hasn’t had the opportunity to have a relationship yet. this being said, he also seems quite innocent and shy which is why I think he would prefer someone who knows what they’re doing and isn’t afraid to speak their opinion

just from vibes, I think he would wanna be with someone like a best friend to him. someone who’s down to just hang out and talk, play video games and watch movies etc.

he’s quite tall (the tallest in dream) so I think he’d actually be ok with a tall person maybe even around the same height as him

maybe not a definite need, but I feel like he’d be impressed by someone who can dance well since dancing is such a big part of his life

and it doesn’t help that haechan is such a little shit about it

he doesn’t even flirt with you

constantly reminds renjun that he’s your bias—not him—and then constantly praises himself over you

and ok in the beginning it was funny seeing him all worked up but now it’s just annoying to be in the same room as these two

haechan won’t let either of you live

and renjun just wants to

so it eventually gets to the point where you’ll talk to renjun and jeno will talk to hyuck cus even the other dreamies are tired of it

except maybe for chenle, he always laughs his ass off when they start bickering

ANYWAY

your conversation goes something like “oh my god renjun i’m literally dating you, i don’t like haechan better or anything you little pile of fury”

while jeno sits hyuck down in front of him and jaemin and just

“bro why are you like this”

no but renjun would apologize for going overboard with his protectiveness and jealous energy because he’s not generally like that

he’s angry all the time but never about something involving you, you know

he tries his best to treat you like the royalty you are

but something about hyuck being your bias makes him feel a bit like a castaway???

he’s very creative and as an artsy kid myself i know we’re very prone to feeling left out because we’re just different from the others

Mark:

ok this is probably his worst nightmare

like 7 billion people on this planet

7 BILLION

and mark somehow managed to fall for his bandmates sister

he 10000% did the biggest face palm in history when he realised he had feelings for you

takes him about a year to feel even slightly relaxed in a room with both you and jaehyun in at the same time

he just feels like he broke the bro code

even though jaehyun has said to him multiple times it’s okay

he can’t relax around him for a while

eventually tho he gets over himself with a LOT of convincing from you and jae

and he would often offer to go out on your dates so that people didn’t question it if you were spotted

he essentially does everything he can to help your relationship cause he loves the both of you

so you drag a whiny renjun to the 127 dorms to tell him

jaehyun probably only annoyed that it took you so long to tell him

as teasing as donghyuck is

i think it would take him a while to become teasing about this with jaehyun

he just cares about you so much and doesn’t want to lose you

so he refuses to do anything that may give jaehyun a reason to take you away from him

literally goes to the length of acting as jaehyun’s personal slave for a week until jae feels too bad to let it continue

‘haechan, i’m not going to make her leave you. you don’t have to do this’

hyuck relaxes a bit after that

but i think he would be one to avoid talking about your relationship as much as possible

jaehyun probably has to find everything out from johnny

he probably pretends to switch rooms with johnny for a night just to mess with hyuck

after that it becomes a slight war

that poor you becomes stuck in the middle of

you act as a mediator for their arguments too

so you have to calm him down and talk to your brother and bf separately

jaehyun has said multiple times that chenle is his favourite younger brother

so i feel like out of all the dreamies jaehyun is probably most relaxed about chenle dating you

the one thing that does send jaehyun through the roof however

is that chenle doesn’t live in the dorms

he is at his own apartment

alone

with you

and little supervision

his older brother senses are tingling

expect phone calls from him so that he can check you two are being appropriate

and god forbid you miss a call from him

overall a nice, low pressure, casual environment

THE BEGINNING:

hyeyoung met johnny in 2017, a bit after he debuted in 127

he came around the training center, since he had trained for so long and had friends there

he also liked to meet new trainees! he’s a super kind guy, he wants to try to be support for them, since he trained for So Long

when he first saw her he thought she was gorgeous

and vice versa, yknow. she was shy because he was a Debuted Idol AND a Handsome Man

yeah they both found each other attractive and that was. about it yknow? for a while

THEN in 2019, rumor was that hyeyoung would join an nct female unit

she was already friends with mila and lily, having trained with mila, and lily was friendly with trainees

but she started talking to the guys more, meeting them properly and getting used to them

and johnny was so .. you know how he is

she fell really quick tbh

lily noticed this QUICKLY and did what she could to make them interact and she THOUGHT she is what got them together

but johnny was texting her on the low .. he loved her the minute he had his first conversation (in person) with her

hyeyoung was lovestruck. she felt able to actually talk to him after a bit, and it was so easy for her to trust and feel close to him

she got shy when he did big gestures or sweet things- but it was making her fall HARD

and johnny? well he wasn’t MUCH better just more composed outwardly

would absolutely GUSH about her to the members. smiling like an IDIOT at his phone

once lily said she couldn’t hang out because hye wasn’t feeling good and johnny’s heart DROPPED he didn’t know what to do

come to think of it he hasn’t gotten a text from her in a while :((

and that’s how johnny ended up at the trainee girls’ dorm at 11pm with a pizza. and the dark chocolate she liked.

he watched a movie in hyeyoung’s room with her ALONE and she leaned into his side so

HOW HYONNY BECAME OFFICIAL:

hyeyoung was fr wondering if this would be anything

she was thinking about her career, yeah, but her heart YEARNED for him. she was falling in love with everything about him

she didn’t need the grand gestures, she just needed him

and, it probably goes without saying, but so did johnny

he stopped by her practice room with evie and gem one day

he had just finished his own practice and called hye closer to the door of the practice room she was in with the girls

cue lily practically shaking with excitement

“i don’t think this will seem out of the blue... do you wanna get dinner, sometime? as an actual date this time”

the smile she gave him nearly made poor john’s heart stop

“i thought you’d never ask” she responded, stepping on her tip toes to press a kiss to his cheek

CHEESY SMILE until jaehyun pulls him away

“howd it go, romeo?”

then they heard the girls squealing audibly and talking at the speed of light

“oh no big deal. just the most beautiful amazing woman on the planet likes me back”

NOW KITH:

the first date was literally later that night, in hyeyoung’s room, with takeout and the nicest red wine johnny could find

tbh he couldn’t wait and she was free that night

the two just talked and laughed and the movie on the background was ignored

hyeyoung was used to feeling shy with people, but she was so comfortable early on. it felt right

and yeah the night DID end with them making out

with the door locked, screw you evie (johnny’s words, not hyeyoung’s)

they fell into being a couple very easily

they told the company a few months in to make life easier and surprisingly .. they were pretty okay with it, though they obviously had guidelines

they couldn’t be seen alone in public (sometimes they break that rule with masks and hats and disguises since the managers will let them sometimes)

a lot of their dates are in the siren dorms because it’s quieter and all of the girls have their own rooms

she comes around to the 127 dorms a lot

they couldn’t interact more than she would interact with the others, and absolutely no pda

((tbh with mila and lily, it’s more acceptable, since they grew up with their members, but the other three have stricter rules .. evie almost breaks them sometimes tho. and sometimes the guys will give casual, familial hugs to them))

they said they loved each other a few months in

johnny said it first, and hyeyoung said it back immediately

it was natural. they fully and truly love each other

they will 1000% percent get married, and they will do so whenever they can in the future

they want to keep their relationship quiet just because hyeyoung’s career has JUST started

but johnny wants to reveal it as soon as the company lets them because he wants the world to know he loves her with all of his heart

johnny’s parents have only met her over facetime, and they already love her. she talks to johnny’s mom a lot too

he has met her parents and siblings, and obviously they love him

her dad is protective though since she’s his youngest daughter and his baby

johnny is still big on keeping the romance alive and planning things for her, always telling her how much he loves her, and showing physical affection

hyeyoung is a softer type of girlfriend, and she is big on quality time and expressing to him how much she loves him.

they will never, ever doubt how much they love each other. forever type shit

HYONNYCORE

johnny and hyeyoung ARE mom and dad

especially to hyuck. hyeyoung LOVES him and thinks he can literally do no harm, similar to how she is with lily

mark used to have a crush on hyeyoung hehe but i think we ALL know he’s interested in someone else now ..

taeyong, yuta, lily, hyuck, jaemin, evie, ten, jungwoo, taeil, chenle, hendery, and yangyang are their biggest shippers. they believe in hyonny supremacy

jaehyun is OBVIOUSLY happy for his bro but he’s a chill, cool dude y’know ..

he’s johnny’s go-to though and he and hyeyoung have a very sweet friendship, jaehyun always looks out for her and makes sure she’s okay

johnny will be chill about the eventual rumors about hyeyoung and jaehyun tho because he knows there’s nothing there, and as far as he is concerned, that means that their relationship is safer without any lights on them

Request:👋🏾 I was wondering if you could do a reaction for 127 on how they’d react after seeing a friend disrespect their s/o for their race??? (or a friend of the s/o disrespects the member for their race, however you see fit) no rush either😘

Jaehyun:

He knew when his friends got drunk, they could get a little rowdy. Truthfully he was having second thoughts about bringing you around them in such a setting, but you were so excited. All week you had been talking about how you couldn’t wait to meet them and let them know you were his soulmate. Allow them to see you weren’t here to play him if they were having those thoughts.

It all started with a sly comment from one of the boys. You were in the bathroom, so his reaction was way different than he would realize it should’ve been.

“She’s so bad.” They said.

“Trust me, I know.”

“She got a nice ass too.”

All he did was punch his friend, clearly disgusted but appalled so much so that he couldn’t move.

“Shut the hell up.” He spoke, but quieted down when he saw you coming back.

The way he looked at you, you knew something was wrong, but it wasn’t what you assumed.

“Well Y/N, I tried to compliment you about how nice you look, but since Jaehyun doesn’t like that, I guess I’ll let you know that you need to take that hair out. It looks old.” He seethes, walking away in drunken anger.

“What did you just say? Come back here, pussy. Say it again.” Jaehyun is aflame. He knew he shouldn’t have brought you here. The fact that you had to hear that made him absolutely sick. He was two seconds away from punching him right in the back of the head before he felt your hands on him.

“Baby, calm down. Calm down.” You shush him, pressing your lips to his shoulder. “Don’t let it get to you.”

He hated this about you. Well, he hated that he couldn’t be like you. He could never ignore the negativity.”

“Come on.” You utter, taking his hand and leading him out.

Winwin:

He didn’t know why he wasn’t worried about you meeting his family. Maybe his love for you truly did blind him. You were just so amazing. The perfect woman and words really couldn’t describe the power you held over him.

As the two of you sat down, you both could sense the awkward air of the dinner table. As your boyfriend talked to his parents you slid him a text.

— You didn’t tell them I was black did you...

— I didn’t think it was something they needed to know. It doesn’t matter.

— I know it doesn’t matter to you baby, but I think it does to them. :(

“Y/N has been really enjoying China.” He speaks up after seeing your last message. He grabs your hand that was hiding from under the table and places your held hands on display for everyone to see.

“And I am so happy to be here right now. Winwin always talks about how much he misses you guys.” You add on, smiling brightly at their dull faces.

“Really? He hasn’t been home in forever.” His mother speaks.

“And don’t think we don’t know what you’re doing. We know how you black people are—always trying to use someone for money so you don’t have to get on welfare back home.”

You choked on your food immediately, unable to hold in your cough. “Woah.” You were able to breathe out. “I’m sorry you’ve been fed false truths about my people.”

“Don’t try and disrespect me in my own house. To be exact, get out.” His mother spits, and you don’t hesitate to take her advice. Mother or not your temper didn’t wait for anyone, and you didn’t want to do anything drastic.

Sicheng was always a well mannered boy who saw his parents as the greatest people he knew. Today, he was very much so proven wrong. “You guys are disgusting. I don’t even know who I’m looking at right now.” His voice shakes as he can’t believe he put you in position to hear words like those. “My girlfriend is African American, and she is beautiful. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known and I want to marry her. I’m going to marry her.” He says with confidence. “And if you don’t apologize in the next 24 hours know you lost a son.” He finishes before storming out to run after you.

Jungwoo:

Neither of you liked parties. You both knew in the back of your mind that you would much rather be cuddled up on your couch or in your bed watching a movie or making the movie watch you.

It was loud in here, and you knew you shouldn’t have been drinking, but it had been awhile. You also knew Jungwoo had your back. The two of you had been in the corner for the majority of the body party, and for just a few seconds did Jungwoo step away to use the bathroom. A few seconds.

“Damn.” You hear a voice say.

Maybe you shouldn’t have froze. But at the same time, you were praying he wasn’t talking to you. When you feel his hand on your exposed lower back, you immediately back into the corner.

“I have a boyfriend.” You say clearly even through your tipsy state.

“Is he here? I don’t see anybody.” He’s getting closer and you can feel his breath on you. You can’t move. He’s blocking you from doing so. “Look, girls like you kill to be with a guy like me?”

“What do you mean girls like me? You don’t even know me.”

“I know you’re black. And all you black girls are the same. You come to Korea begging for this attention, but when we give it to you, you get all scared.”

You knew you had to defend yourself. You were raised to do so. But Jungwoo got to him first. He pushes the guy on the ground and he’s obviously drunk because he doesn’t even try to fight back. He hit the floor hard too as it grabbed everyone’s attention.

“Baby are you okay?” He questions as he cups your face into his hands, kissing your gently.

“I wanna leave.” You whisper, tears dripping from your cheeks from the fear you didn’t realize you had experienced. “Don’t worry about him just take me home please.”

“Okay okay.” He assures. He so badly wants to beat the shit out of the piece of shit who just ruined your night, but he knows every tone of your voice. He knows you really don’t want him to do anything. You just want him.

Mark:

As bad as it was, you and Mark were eachother’s only friends. He had people who he would communicate with from time to time, but in his eyes, a friend was someone who you trusted with your whole being. You were that person for him and quite frankly he didn’t need anyone else.

Of course he wanted to see his friends in Canada. He hadn’t seen them in too long, and he can remember all the good times. Subways with the boys, school with the boys, they were his boys. Secretly, the two of you met up in Vancouver where SuperM was touring and of course he brought you with him to meet up with his friends. He trusted them enough to not accidentally mention any details of you being there, and he would be sure to remind them 1000x anyway.

Everything was okay. His friends were telling you about all of the crazy things he used to do—say.

“You know it’s crazy. I never would’ve thought Mark would be dating a black girl.” One of them said. It made you uncomfortable, and you unconsciously leaned into your boyfriends hold, but you had hopes that he would clean it up. In some way shape or form, you wanted that to happen.

“Why do you say that?” Mark says in confusion.

“I don’t know. I just feel like you could do better. Like at least get a white girl and secure the bag bro.” He jokes, but Mark isn’t laughing. Your boyfriend was not one to mess with when he was pissed off and it was very clear right now. Especially when it came to you did he not play.

“I promise you that Mark did indeed secure the bag with me, honey.” You chuckle knowing he woke the beast.

“The fact that you just said that dumb shit to me, infront of my girl is proof that I should smack the shit out of you right now. I swear to God.” Mark seethes. He’s standing up now, but you can tell he’s fighting saying so many more things.

“Aye chill, Mark. He was just joking.”

“Is anybody laughing? Because I’m not. She’s not. Apologize.”

“What? For a joke?”

“Apologize.” He says in a low voice.

“I’m—I’m sorry.” He stumbles, and right after is Mark taking your hand and leading you out of the restaurant.

Haechan:

It was obvious that they were trying very hard to impress you. The overly loud rap music. The slang that they were throwing at you in hopes that you would see them in...you didn’t know what. But you didn’t mind. It was better than being rude to you. At the same time though, you couldn’t help but to think that this was Haechan’s idea. That he told them to act a little more seasoned for your arrival.

“Haechan.” You questioned quietely as his friends were rowdy and couldn’t hear you. “Did you tell them to do this?”

“What do you mean?”

“Never mind.” You say, and you can tell he wants to hear more, but doesn’t press on the issue further.

“So Y/N, what’s it like being black?” One of them asks over the loud music. “Like how does it feel?”

“Um...I don’t know. Oppressed.” You dark humor, and your boyfriend laughs, but the guy doesn’t seem impressed.

“This is what I don’t understand about you guys. I mean, even with the black lives matter stuff. I feel like y’all want to be oppressed.”

“Me knowing that as a black woman I’m oppressed does not equal me wanting to be. As people of color we all have our own issues and we would be extremely stupid to try to ignore these factors just because we don’t want it to be that way. Me and my people have targets on our backs whether we like it or not.”

“And you of all people should understand that.” Haechan adds. “You’re sitting here trying to be black and look cool to my girlfriend to then turn around and disrespect her race and try to make her feel invalid for her very valid feelings. Get on the internet or read a damn book you fucking idiot. This isn’t a fairytale. You know what, Iets go baby. Can’t believe this shit.” He spits, standing up promptly.

“Period.” You scoff, slamming the chair into the table on your way out.

“Were you going to ask me did I ask them to act like that?” He questions when you two get outside.

“Yes.” You admit.

“I would never. I promise and I’m so sorry all of the just happened. I’m so so sorry.”

Into the night - Chapter 127

She was introduced to so many people, she could hardly remember who was who, how could anyone know so many people? And know them all by name and what they did? He certainly could and he did it all so naturally, knowing a little story about every guest so effortlessly. “I hope you have someone who writes your christmas cards every year” she smiled as they walked to the bar together, his hand loosely drapped around the small of her waist where it had been all night. “You're going to be ok” she whispered as she sat down, “what? What did you say?” Jared kissed her temple looking out over his garden that was beautifully lit now and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. “Nothing..I guess I'm just surprised over the number of friends you have, and I can't help but wonder why you never told me, you were so lost when you and I met..I bet some of those bikini babes right there were more than happy to help you out back then, and even now they can't keep their eyes off you” she smirked, trying to pretend those girls didn't bother her, but they did, those girls were the vultures of the near future, when she was gone they were gonna be the ones that were gonna fill the empty spot in his bed.

Jared saw right through the joking smile, she was thinking about the worst case scenario again “they weren't there when I needed them, everybody in LA thinks they have friends, but the minute you need them, they're not there and you find yourself talking to a voicemail all the time because sadness or grief are terribly unsexy..so as far as those girls are concerned, they used to be convenient a long time ago..but then I got older and lost my heart for the very first time in my life” he realized he was getting lost in his memories about Charlotte again so he quickly snapped out of it because the last thing he wanted to do was talk about Charlotte, on his engagement night. “I don't think any of us ever gets over our first real love” Jordan sipped her drink “I know I never will”, Jared frowned “you never told me about him..” who was she talking about? She had told him that she only had one night stands but never a real relationship. “Oh yes I did, you even know him” she shook her head and rolled her eyes, was he for real? “my first real love is you, you idiot! You're the first guy I've been in a relationship with! And I know for a fact that I'll never get over you”. Jared's breath got stuck in his throat, there was no more tough cookie who rarely shared her emotions, this came from somewhere deep down “and I know for a fact that I'll never get over you either, not that I'll have to in the next 50 years or so, because you and I are gonna grow really old together” he breathed against her lips before he seized them in a passionate kiss that had them both out of breath and longing for more. “Mamaaaa..” Jordan felt Noah tug the skirt of her dress all of a sudden and reluctantly she let her lips disconnect from Jared's “what is it, pumpkin?” she pulled his little sticky hand away from her dress and slid off her chair to crouch down to his level. “Grandma asked if you can help me look for the candles on your birthday cake, she said they're in the kitchen” her nephew was getting a bit grumpy it seemed “I really want to have some cake, so can you please help me look for them?”, Jordan pushed his hair out of his eyes and smiled “you're a little cake-monster, you know that? Come on, I'll help you look for them” she got up a little too quick and it got her so dizzy she had to hold Jared's arm for a second before she grabbed Noah's hand and walked back inside with him in search for the candles.

Shannon came walking over to his brother “ok bro, this is it, you ready?” he flashed him a smile and handed him the little velvet box, to his surprise Jared's hands weren't trembling, he looked completely confident about his decision “absolutely!” he nodded, this was the moment he had been waiting for for so long and it was finally here,“Oh, she's back..good luck” Shannon hurried back into the crowd and signaled for the DJ to turn off the music. “Yes you can help me blow the candles, I promised you could didn't I?” Jordan only noticed the music was turned off when she stepped out on the terrace again to find all the guests staring at Jared who turned and held out his hand to her. “Honey, come here a second, there's just something I want to say to our guests before we really get this party started and finally have that cake before Noah spontaneously combusts in anticipation” he grinned. Jordan grabbed his hand and nervously smiled at him, she so didn't want a birthday speech while everyone was looking at her, “First of all, I want to thank you all for being here tonight” Jared seemed so at ease addressing all these people, but then what did she expect, he was used to the spotlights. “And I just want to take the opportunity to thank a very special person in my life, you've all had the honour of meeting my beautiful English rose tonight” he brought her hand to his mouth and kissed it “we met under some pretty sinister circumstances as you all know” his breath got stuck in his throat for a minute. “At a time when I thought I could never love again, Jordan came walking into my life, she listened to me for hours on end, she talked to me, she made me see sense again..” his voice got all raspy “over the last year she's been..my best friend, my lover, my muze, my confidant, she made all my wrongs right again”. Jordan stood there blushing furiously, what on earth was this about? “she stood by me in every step to recovery I had to take, even when she had some..troubles of her own to deal with” he continued while she nervously squeezed his hand, this was just a birthday party, nobody really needed to know all the details of their relationship or her health troubles, now did they?. “And because of that, we didn't exactly get to celebrate her birthday” he smiled and let go of her hand for a second to dig in his pocket “so I got her a little gift”, a gasp murmured through the crowd as he got down on one knee, took her hand and looked up at her. “Jordan McLeod, will you do me the honour of being my wife? Will you marry me?” he breathed, tears laced around his voice, Jordan felt like her mind blew a fuse, not able to register what he was asking or doing “what..but..I” was all she managed to say as her hand clasped over her mouth, this was not happening, this wasn't real, it couldn't be. Everyone around them seemed to hold their breath waiting for her answer, even Jared was swallowing hard by now as he pushed the black diamond ring over her finger “a rare black diamond for the most rare and most beautiful white diamond in my life..marry me?!” he looked up at her again, watery blue met watery hazel as their eyes locked. The world around her fell away and the tears rolled down her cheeks as she nodded at him, “is that a..yes?” Jared couldn't hold the tears back anymore either when she finally managed to get over her shock and said “Yes! Yes I will marry you..YES!”. Her answer was met by a loud round of applause while Jared got up and kissed her like nobody was watching “I love you, I love you so so much” he breathed in between kisses, “I love you too, I'm still in shock, I..” she giggled and cried at the same time, “Mamaaaa, what's going on?” she could feel Noah cling to her leg again, poor thing had no idea what was going on, it was as much a surprise for him as it was for her. Jared reluctantly let go of Jordan and picked up an insecure Noah “Now that your mama and I are getting married, I think there's something I need to ask you too, buddy” he smiled at the boy who stared back at him with big questioning eyes “ok, so..you know how you call your aunt Jordan mama now? And you call my mother Grandma and Shannon uncle, right?” he could see Shannon put his arm around their mother who was overthrown by emotions already “well, I'm kinda starting to feel a bit left out, so I wanted to ask you if I can be your papa from now on? I know you already have a daddy and I know I can never replace him but I would like to look after you for the rest of my life if that is ok with you? So I would like to ask you if I can adopt you once your mama and I are married so she can be your mama and I can be your papa, would you like that?”. Noah's head shot up and for a second he seemed to be wavering but then he leaned forward and locked his little arms around Jared's neck “Yes! You can be my papa now” as soon as he said it they were met once again by the crowd going mad as he kissed the boy's cheek and whispered “I love you Noah McLeod and I promise to take care of you and your mama and keep both of you safe for the rest of my life”.

”Dance with me” Jared whispered in her ear as the music started again and couples started to form on the improvised dancefloor under the stars, she willingly let him take her hand and guide her to the floor. “So my beautiful 'soon-to-be wife' I take it you like the ring” he smiled as he watched her put her hand against his chest, unable to take her eyes off the gorgeous black rock on her finger, knowing she had been caught in the act, she blushed “I just..I still don't know what to say..I love the ring..it's so special and so..” she looked for the right words to say, if only her brain wanted to function, “so exceptional and special as you?” he twirled her around and then pulled her close to his body again, swaying to the music. “How..when..why..?” she still couldn't seem to form a coherent sentence making Jared smile as they danced cheek to cheek “I've ordered the ring weeks ago, I was just waiting for the right moment to ask you! I was thinking about your birthday but with the courtcase and all..it just wouldn't have had the same effect if I had given it to you then..and I wanted to ask you surrounded by our friends and family” he whispered. “Oh really? Why? Because you were scared I would say no if you'd asked me in private” she smiled, “A little!” he grinned “you made my heart stop there for a few seconds when you didn't immediately give me an answer, I actually thought you were going to send me packing”. Jordan let her forehead rest against his chest “I keep thinking this isn't real, I keep expecting to wake up from this wonderful dream but I don't want to, I don't ever want to wake up”, he put his arm a little tighter around her waist “It's real, it's very real” he knew what she was referring to but he didn't want to think about it and more importantly he didn't want her to think about it. “We're gonna have to set a date and decide where we're gonna have the wedding..I was thinking about London” he knew the mention of her hometown would have her react instantly and it did “are you serious? London? But it's gonna be so expensive, flying everyone in and..”. Jared stopped her immediately, “so? I don't care what it costs, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters” he put her mind at ease, he meant it, no price was too high to see her walking down that isle in the city she loved so much on the most beautiful day of their lives. “We'll see, we don't have to decide straight away do we?” she lifted her head to steal a kiss from his lips “Thank you!” she breathed, making him frown a little “for what?” he whispered at the beauty wrapped safely in his arms, the more he looked at her, the more he knew that he had made the right decision. “For wanting to adopt Noah..” she kissed the spot of bare chest between the folds of his shirt, “he belongs with us, we fought too hard for him and it was the most logical thing to do, so don't thank me, he's as much my child now as he is yours, he's our first before we have a couple of our own” Jordan knew that he was dreaming out loud but she refused to burst his bubble, so she just nodded and let him twirl her around again. “Mrs. Leto..I like the sound of that” he grinned in her hair, “whooaaa wait a minute, I'm quite happy with my own name, thank you very much” she suddenly got a bit jittery, her mother hadn't taken her father's name and she really wasn't planning on taking Jared's name, “what? But..” Jared reacted a bit nervous. “It's not that I don't like your name, I just think it's a little old-fashioned to expect a woman to take the name of her husband, Kirsten took James' last name when they got married..ok wait..what I'm really trying to say is that I don't want to take your name and live out of your pocket like she did..I want to keep on working if I get the chance to get better..I might stretch to Jordan McLeod-Leto though, how does that sound?” she bargained with him, “I like it, but I think I like Jordan Leto-McLeod just a little bit better”.

Soon as the song ended, Noah came running up to them, rubbing his eyes “I want my Yoda-doll” he said all cranky, he was clearly getting a bit tired, reluctantly Jordan let go of Jared “Ok, let's go get him then, did you leave Yoda in your room?” and grabbed her nephew's hand taking him back inside the house. “Jared getting engaged..what a joke” one of the bikini babes rolled her eyes as they sat at the bottom of the stairs drinking, “Yeah, how ridiculous was that? I mean, it's not like he's gonna marry her, that chick's gonna be dead long before she'll say 'I do', he used to be such a fun guy and now he's only interested in dead or dying chicks, oh well, he'll be on the market again soon enough”. Jordan stopped in her tracks, those two bimbos here were set on bursting her rosy bubble and it was working, she squeezed Noah's hand a little tighter in hers and took a deep breath “I'm so sorry girls, to interrupt your interesting conversation, but this dead woman walking needs to get her nephew upstairs”. The two girls stared at her in a surprised shock and slowly moved so she could get through, straightening her back she started the walk up the stairs while the two girls downstairs burst out in a hilarious giggle making her cringe. “Why were those girls laughing with you?” Noah asked as they walked in the room and he fell on the bed all exhausted, “nothing, they were just being silly” she lied, but the truth was hurting her so much and she so needed to sit down, the dancing, the emotions, the stairs, she was starting to feel it. Noah crawled under her arm and leaned against the side of her body “If you and Jared are getting married, does that mean you don't need a new heart?” he yawned as he hugged his doll, “no..I do..I do still need a new heart..anyway, how about Jared adopting you, huh? That was amazing, wasn't it?” she quickly changed the subject to something positive. “Yes, I have a papa and a mama again, that is so cool” he nodded, “I actually wanted to ask you something really important too” she tickled the back of his neck “see, it's tradition that the bride is given away by her father but since I don't have a daddy anymore, I wanted to ask if you would give me away?”. Noah's head shot up “really? Yes! Yes I'll do that, yaayy” he said all excited that he was being asked something so important.
