Hey, y'all, I wanted to try something a little different. Plus, I have been obsessed with BTVS and especially Spike, so I created a fic for him. I got the inspo for this from this fic, Movie Night at the Summers Residence, so you should go check it out!

My life has never been… easy to say but it’s not like I didn’t have a support system I had my mother and my two sisters. I remember the day coming home from the orphanage and the feeling of comfort and love came over my body for the first time in my life. From that day I was Y/n Summers. I didn’t know life could be more fulfilling till I got my baby sister Buffy then my mom had Dawn a couple of years later. Even as a four-year-old, I knew I loved being an older sister.

So the day Buffy sacrificed herself to save the world again I had felt like I had failed not just Buffy but also my mom and Dawn. So I threw myself fully into being Dawn’s guardian the one she deserved, because like Dad would lift a finger. Motherfucker didn’t even call to talk to us about Mom’s passing it’s like as soon as the divorce was finalized he forgot he was still a father. Our friends did everything to help Dawn, Giles helped her get on track with her schoolwork, Willow and Tara would teach her a few simple spells, Anya and Xander would take her to do fun things to distract her from the heavy grief that both of us were going through.

But Spike crazily enough has been the hugest supporter of Dawn and me. It’s crazy because if you told me four years ago that Spike is reformed and that you trust him to watch your little sister I would laugh at your funny joke. He stays with her all night when I have to work the night shifts unfortunately I get more money from those. And somehow he and I built a friendship through our grief and just wanting someone to be there.

“Hey, how was it?” I asked quietly seeing Dawn asleep on the floor clearly falling asleep during the movie they were watching.

“Uhh, just a little scared,” Spike responded looking at Dawn. A mini heart attack goes through me and he sees my face.

“Sorry, I mean from the horror movie.”

I drop my bag and sit next to him on the couch. “Lead with that next time would you.” I joked and taped his arm. “And I thought we said no scary movies.” I gave him a knowing annoyed look. I can see him and how he's trying to come up with a good reason.

“Ah you know the little bit she is very convening with those damn puppy dog eyes.” He replied turning his body to me and trying that half-assed excuse on me and I had to admit it was pretty cute.

“Ok fine you're off the hook but no more Micahel Myers at least till she’s sixteen… in half.”

“Isn’t that a little excessive luv?” He called me out while leaning back on the couch arm.

“I know I know I just want to protect her as much as possible as long as possible with how much she has lost in just the last three months I want to protect her while I still can.” I walked over and stroked her hair. I glanced up at him and in his eyes saw my earnestness and truth.

“Can you carry her to bed I’ll pop open some beers I think we both could use one.” I ended with a smirk.

“Of course and for me-”

“In a bottle, I know spike.” I giggled and walked to the kitchen while he carried her to bed.

In an hour we were both delightfully buzzed our bodies across from each other on the couch and I got to rant to him.

“So get this I walked over to get this guy his coffee and not even a minute later he demanded it again calling me lazy, like I'm sorry sir if I’m not the flash.” We both laughed at that and almost spilled our beers.

“Bloody Hell Luv I’m sorry you have to deal with that.” He sips his beer looking in it.

And I looked in mine like it was a pond a movie character thinking about a decision but really it was still just beer. “Yeah well it pays the bills so in my book it’s the best job in the world.”

“You know I could still help.” He lifts his head to meet mine and his eyes bored into mine.

“Spike I really appreciate the offer but I just can’t take money from you, you already do so much for Dawn and me if I took the money I would feel like I was taking advantage and I couldn't do that, not to you.” I fiddled with the bottle thinking about it and before I knew he had moved right in front of me.

“Luv listen to me, if I can help you not feel like doom is around the corner then that way I can feel that I’m more than what my title is you make me feel like I’m more than a vampire, a monster you make me feel like a man.” He lifted my chin with his hand and I know he’s telling the truth.

“Plus I wouldn’t mind being taken “advantage” of.” He smirked. Leave it to Spike to flirt when things get a little too real.

“Oh really.” I played-shoved him and he caught my hand. And we were left with a sizzling tension between us that had also been building with the friendship. He slowly leaned in looking to me if it was okay. And I nodded yes.

Our lips met in the middle and it was everything I had been dreaming about. It started out slowly but there was a certain desperation behind it. He gently grabbed the back of my head to cradle it.

“So should I go or…” He questioned and I grabbed him back into me.

“Spike I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time I don’t about you.” I breathed heavily.

He flipped us over to where he was on top of me and I was below. “Been dreaming of it, sweetheart.” He then pressed his lips again but this time more intense. Before I know it his tongue met mine.

“Mhhh spike.” I moaned between the tongues.

“Not so loud pet Dawn is right upstairs.” His mouth traveled down my neck slowly too slowly for my liking. I grab his shirt.

“Spike…” He chuckles at that.

“I didn’t know you were this desperate pet but have patience, I want to savor this moment.” He goes to remove my shirt. “This okay?” I just nod. He unbuttons it and just looks down at me.

I get self-conscious and hold my arms over my chest. He gently pulls them away. “Y/n you are beautiful no need to be shy but if you do want to cover up I'm fine with that too.” He whispered.

“It’s okay, it’s just I haven't done this for a… while.” I was a little embarrassed to say.

“Me too Luv, so we’ll go at this at our pace okay? I nod and take off my bra.

“Oh, the wait was definitely worth it.” He scanned down and made me feel… sexy which I haven't felt in a while between the sweat build-up and stress.

“Oh spike-” I get stopped by him sucking on my sweet spot. He goes harder and it starts to pulse with a little pain but soothed by him licking it. His hands go to my strap pulling it down I’m so distracted by the bite that I didn’t even feel him fondling my nipple. And it feels… electrifying. I sit up and fully remove my bra. I then hear the shower going on upstairs which is weird because Dawn should be sleeping-. SHIT ITS A SCHOOL DAY! She will be downstairs in five minutes. I then notice the state of the two of us.

“Spike Spike! Wake up!” He woke with alertness and fell off the couch.

“What what is attacking us!?”

“Nothing, Dawn is going to be downstairs now in three minutes!” He then comes to the same realization.

“Oh SHIT!”

“Yeah! So come on get your clothes on I have to make a quick breakfast for her.” I throw my clothes on and run to the kitchen. Spike goes to the backdoor but before he leaves he turns to me.

“I don’t regret what happened last night, do you?” Those damn blue eyes begged for an answer. I didn't but I couldn't get into this right now.

“Uhh We’ll talk later okay.” I responded while flipping the eggs not being able to tell to his face. I can tell he wants to keep going but knows he can’t so he throws on a blanket over his head and run out the backdoor. And not a minute later Dawn is in front of me.

“Hey did Spike sleep here last night?” She questioned innocently. I was pouring orange juice and dropped the glass.

“What what no no why ask?” I quickly picked up the glass and avoided her eyes.

“Just he left his lighter on the couch, you okay?” She saw my behavior.

“Yup just tired you know, well would you look at the time you should be off to school!” I pick her up backpack and lunchpail and practically push her out the door.

“Are you sure you okay Y/n because I can-”

“No! I mean I'm okay now go that brain needs knowledge.” I smiled and waved to her as she walked off super confused about her sister’s erratic behavior. I closed the door finally being able to breathe. I walk to the couch looking at the tangled blankets and remembering what only really happened a couple of hours ago and spot the silver lighter and pick it up.

“What did I do?” Did we ruin a friendship or start something more?

“What is her purpose here?” Kennedy snarled at Willow, pointing at you and talking as if you weren't in the room after you, Spike, and Andrew had returned. All you had done was ask where Buffy was.

“Back the hell off Kennedy,” Faith warned.

“No, I want to know what she contributes.”

“Right because (Name)’s been sitting up in the bedroom watching Passions and eating snacks all this time while you risk your lives.” Spike scoffed, rolling his eyes.

“She might as well have been. She walks around like Buffy critiquing us and doing nothing! She disappears when we need her only to reappear when the fight’s over!”

“For the past six years, I have been keeping Ares’ forces out of Sunnydale,” you explained icily.

“And you’ve done such a great job of it! The god has been sighted all over the place!”

“If you’ve only sighted him, it means I’m doing my job!”

“That’s just your fancy way of saying you’re sleeping with the god.”

The kitchen went deathly quiet at her words.

“I am not one to sleep with another just because of the power and influence they wield, Kennedy. Especially when I am in a relationship with someone else.”

“Perhaps we should--”

“She’s exactly the same as Buffy. She needs to go.”

“Is that what you did?” Spike asked venomously, “You lot conspired to push her out of her own house?”

“Let me tell you a little something about your girlfriend. She was always on our backs and whatever we did it wasn’t good enough!” Kennedy shouted.

“Because Buffy has been through Apocalypses before, you nit!”

“So that justifies treating us as if we don’t have any say in our destiny and not letting us have any fun?”

“Don’t you get it? Every win for the First is a loss for you!” You exploded. Your eyes scanned the room and you noticed Xander wearing an eyepatch that he had definitely not worn before you left. Realising what must have happened, you spoke again with a softer tone.

“Xander. The way you were maimed is horrible. No one is arguing that point. If you want to blame someone, blame Caleb. Blame the First. Do not blame Buffy because I know she gave you an out before you faced the First’s forces and Caleb.”

“She needs to go.” Kennedy repeated.

“Right now she is the only thing standing between you and Ares, you dolt. Rupert, are you going to sit and watch this happen again?”

“He didn’t intervene then. Why would he intervene now?” Kennedy rebutted. Rupert wouldn’t meet your eyes. While you could understand that the Hellmouth amplified evil and emotions, Buffy saw Rupert as a father figure. To hear that he had sat by and done nothing while Buffy left the only safe place she knew made your heart ache.

“You sad, sad ungrateful traitors. Who do you think you are?!” Spike demanded.

“We're her friends. We just want-” Willow stammered, looking to you for help.

Spike chuckled mercilessly, “Oh that's ballsy of you! You're her friends and you betray her like this?!”

Finally, Rupert tried to speak, “You don't understand-”

“That’s going to go over well with Spike. You haven’t even shown a shred of concern for Buffy’s welfare or asked us about her whereabouts, Rupert.” You thought, “How did everything fall apart so quickly?”

Spike was quick to reply to Rupert’s weak attempt at justifying their actions, “Oh, I think I do...Rupert. You used to be the big man, didn't you? The teacher all full of wisdom. Now she's surpassed you, and you can't handle it. She has saved your lives again and again. She's died for you. And this is how you thank her?! This is how you thank both of them? You sit by while Kennedy insults the woman that you supposedly love knowing full well what she’s done to protect the lot of you?!”

“We should go Spike. Staying here and arguing with people who don’t want to admit they’ve done the wrong thing isn’t going to help us find Buffy.”

Spike said nothing but followed you to the front door. You could feel the eyes of the potentials on you as the two of you walked out with your heads held high. Spike sniffed the air when the two of you stood at the end of the footpath, “Got her scent.”

“This is another one of those times that I’m grateful you’re a vampire. It’s only one of a small handful of times.”

Spike jerked his head, “We go that way.”

“Oh, my darling. Can you see now how easily humans betray one another?”

Former Spike x GN!Reader

Summary: You lose the man you love and you go downhill fast.

Warnings: Alcohol and drug use, swearing, grief, depression, just a lot of angst

Word Count: 1,043

You walk through the front door and see the Scoobies sitting in the living room.

"Buffy, what are they all doing here?"

"We think you need help" Buffy said.

"You need to cut this out, you're making things worse for everyone around you" Xander snapped.

"Xander! We agreed to be gentle about it" Willow reprimanded him.

"We're worried about you, Y/n" Giles told you.

You get overwhelmed by everyone staring at you and you lash out.

"You have no idea what it's like!" You cried out "You don't have to live with it everyday!"

"You think it doesn't hurt for me? You think I don't miss him?" Buffy responded.

"You don't have to live with the guilt"

"I feel guilty, we all do"

"I don't" Xander muttered and Willow slapped his arm.

"You shouldn't feel solely responsible for what happened" Buffy said.

"Of course I feel responsible! We loved each other and I let him down!"

"I-I didn't know you loved him" Giles utters, trying not to upset you anymore.

"I do. I did"

"He wouldn't want this for you"

"How dare you stand there and tell me what he'd want? You didn't know him half as well as I did!"

"Y/n, calm down"

"How can you tell me to calm down?! Spike is dead! And I have to get high just to keep my mind off it, I have to spend everyday in a haze to forget what I let happen! I think about him all the time, getting high is the only break I have and that's starting not to work anymore!"

"Y/n" Giles said softly.

"I'm done with this" you stormed out, up the stairs and to your room.

"Y/n, you're not getting out of this!" Buffy called out.

You rifled through your drawers trying to find anything but coming up empty handed.

"Looking for these?" Anya said, holding up a bag of pills.

"Anya, would you just give them to me?"

"Nope, you're not getting these back, you have a problem"

You turn around anxiously and run your hand through your hair and over your face.

"Anya, I really need some, please"

"No"

You are detoxing and you can't handle it, you run at Anya and snatch the bag out of her hands. You run down the hallway and out the door before she can catch you. You make your way down the dangerous streets of Sunnydale at night, popping pills along the way. You go to the Bronze since you know you can score there. You walk through the door looking terrible and head for your dealer.

"Whoa Y/n, you look like shit!"

"Yeah, I know Ricky. Now do you have anything or not?"

"Always got something for my favourite customer"

He hands you four different coloured pills and you down them all in one go.

"Hey, that's too much you shouldn't take more than one of those an hour or you'll get really messed up"

"That's what I want, Ricky"

"You could die"

"Good"

You go over to the bar and get half a dozen mixed shots and drinks. You do all the shots at once and start chugging the drinks. All you want to do is get away, get away from the people, the town, your feelings, everything. You go back to the dance floor where you see some friends.

"Hey Y/n! Got anything good?"

Your head starts to spin a little and you trip and fall into someone's arms.

"Hey, you okay?" he asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine"

"You don't look fine. Why don't you sit down?"

You decide to take him up on his offer and sit with him while you try and ride out your high a bit. He starts tracing your inner thigh with his fingers.

"W-What are you doing?"

"Sh, sh, sh, just relax, baby"

Before you know it he's on top of you and you're making out. You don't really know what's happening, spots start to cloud your vision. You feel his lips go lower and his fingers go higher. Suddenly you feel him get ripped away and you stare up to see Spike.

"Get up, we're going home"

You try to sit up but you can't even manage that. Spike picks you up and carries you out the door and into his car.

"You know you're an idiot. You should have told me, I would have helped you before you got to this"

"I didn't think I could tell you"

"Why not?"

"I thought you'd tell the others or end up hating me"

"You know I'd never do that"

"Do now"

You get back to his place and he helps you to his room and lies you down in his bed.

"Please don't leave me"

"I won't, pet"

He gets into the bed with you and just holds you for the next few hours, stroking your hair and telling you everything is going to be okay and for the first time since he died you thought it might be.

You wake up in a strange bed hours later, you sat up, very confused before you saw Angel walk in.

"Hey, you feeling any better?"

"What happened?"

"Giles called me, he said they couldn't do anything to help you and he thought I might be able to do something. I went to the Bronze and threw some pig off of you before I brought you back here"

"Where is here?"

"A motel room, just outside of town"

"Spike wasn't there, was he?"

Angel looked at you with a terrible sadness in his eyes. He may have hated Spike but you loved him and he could see the pain in your heart, he remembered what it was like to lose people and he wished you didn't have to go through that.

"No, Y/n, Spike died weeks ago"

"I-I know I just thought he was there"

"Sorry, just me"

"You drove all the way from LA for me?"

"Of course I did, you're my best friend"

Tears start to pour from your eyes and you collapse into Angel's arms. He holds you as you sob, he'll hold you for as long as it takes.

"A-Angel, I can't stay here"

"I know, we can go back to LA whenever you're ready"

"Thank you"

Giles x teen!reader - I’ll take care of you

T/W: mentions of abusive parents

You felt the blood pouring down your nose, and you grinned a little as you stood up, wiping it with the back of your hand.

“Still haven’t had enough?” The older teenager asked.

You smirked, taking a swing your fist connected with their face, sending them flying sideways into the lockers.

They fell to the floor with a groan of pain, and you felt somebody charge at you, slamming you into the lockers and knocking the wind from your lungs.

You felt another punch landing on your stomach, followed by another and another until you were dropped on the floor, a swift kick to your side.

“You’re pathetic.” Someone spat.

With that, they helped their friend up.

“Watch your back.” You warned them.

They said nothing as they walked away, and you looked around the empty hallway before pushing yourself up with a groan of pain.

You held your nose with one of your hands and made your way down the hallways, a slight limp slowing you down but you didn’t care.

You checked a few classrooms trying to find the class that you were now incredibly late for, and you would Willow walking down the hallway.

“Hey! Rosenberg!”

She stopped, freezing in place and she turned around to look at you.

“You’re bleeding!”

“Yeah, I don’t care. Where did our class go?”

“Uh.. to the library, we’re supposed to be working in groups and you’re in my group..” she mumbled.

You said nothing and you walked alongside her.

Willow glanced at you, and she pulled out a pack of tissues from her pocket, offering you one of them and you glanced at her.

“I.. I thought maybe you’d want to clean the blood..”

“It’ll wash out.”

You took a tissue to clean your hands and tossed it into the trash as you walked into the library, and the whole class went silent.

Willow scampered back to her friends and you jumped up on the front desk, laying yourself down with a groan of pain.

“Look who finally decides to join us.” Your teacher mocked.

“Keep going I’ll do more than key your car bitch.”

“Are you on a fast track to get expelled?” She asked.

You turned your head to look at her, and you sat up, slowly walking over with a sinister smirk on your lips.

“Are you on a fast track to get sent to the ICU?”

You took a step forward and she took one back, and you took another forward.

“Just sit somewhere quietly.”

You said nothing as you walked away, heading up the stairs to get lost in the stacks of books, trying to find something more interesting to do.

Wondering between the rows and rows of books, you made your way further and further into the library, the sound of the class fading away until you could barely hear it.

You felt your nose start bleeding again, just slightly and you wiped it on the bottom of your already blood soaked shirt.

“I do hope you aren’t planning on bleeding all over my books.”

You turned around, staring at the librarian in boredom.

“Get lost.”

“Well I would but I happen to work here, shouldn’t be with your class down there?” Giles asked.

“Shouldn’t you be off drinking tea somewhere?”

He chuckled slightly, and he held out an ice pack to you which you took, placing it on your side, turning around to lean on the shelf behind you.

Giles sighed, taking his glasses off to clean them before he put them back on.

“How’d you know I was here?”

“Well, I could say I just know you that well, but I would be lying. I heard the shouting and then followed the trail of blood you so kindly left behind.”

He put his hands into his pockets.

“You need to stop this fighting (Y/N).”

“Or what?” You snapped.

“You’re going to get seriously hurt or worse, one day they’re not just going to stop at knocking you down.” He said gently.

You pushed yourself up, making your way back from the direction you had come from and he trailed behind you.

“This.. this isn’t the right way to go about things.”

“What do you know? You don’t know shit so stay out of it before you get your ass kicked through a wall.”

You made your way back down the stairs and you sat on the bottom of them, looking at your blood stained hands.

Giles sat next to you.

“I know a lot more then you think I do, I know people don’t just go around fighting for no reason. I’ve never seen a student so angry about everything, I thought maybe you would like to share what’s going on.”

You scoffed.

“Oh yeah because talking about my feelings will magically make everything all better. You know what, I actually think I’m cured.”

Taking the ice pack off your side you tossed it as far as you could across the library, watching as it knocked something from a shelf.

“It’s none of your fucking business so leave it.”

With that, you pushed yourself up and stormed out of the library which had fallen quiet.

Giles sighed, taking his glasses off he pinched the bridge of his nose before he put them back on to tidy the mess you had made.

You walked up to a locker and punched it, splitting your knuckles and denting the metal before you stormed out of the school.

You were gone for a few days which was nothing unusual and you came back, once again covered in cuts and bruises from fighting.

Snyder approached you at your locker and you glared at him.

“Guess who’s now a volunteer to help sort through all the books in the library.” He said.

“No.”

Snyder hummed.

“You see you don’t get a choice in this, if you don’t, then I get the joys of expelling you, then I’ll charge you for all the damage you’ve caused this school and you can go rot in a cell like you’re supposed to.”

You stepped your, clenching your jaw tightly.

“And then it gives me an excuse to call your father again.”

This made you stop, you narrowed your eyes before you stepped back.

“Fine.”

With that you walked away, ignoring the comment he made about you being so helpful and you made your way to the library, slamming the door open.

Everybody inside jumped, and you walked to the stairs to sit down.

“Snyder got you too huh?” Buffy asked.

You balled your hand up.

“I’m going to knock his teeth down his throat..”

“Oh please tell me when, I would do pay to see that.” Xander said.

You smirked a little as you glanced at him before you turned your attention away, sitting sideways on the step you resting your back on the wall and closed your eyes.

Nobody spoke to you for a few moments, but when you felt somebody sit next to you it made you open your eyes.

Giles held up a cup of tea and you looked at him unimpressed.

“It’s relaxing.”

“Go away.”

He set the cup down on the floor next to him and sighed.

“I know you don’t want to be here, but since you have to be here I just want you to know that if you change your mind and want to talk I’ll listen.”

“Unless you’re going to pay me for helping I’m not helping. I’m here because I have to be.”

“I know.”

Giles stood up and walked away, leaving your cup there.

He would occasionally glance at you to make sure you were still there, and you didn’t do anything to help them.

When the bell went, you were gone, and when he went to get the cup he noticed it was empty and he smiled a little to himself.

Walking back to the table he set it down.

“Oh (Y/N) drank it? That’s pretty impressive.” Willow said.

Giles looked at the cup then to the student who was smiling a little.

“Willow you know a bit about (Y/N), right?” He asked.

“Well, yeah. Like we grew up next door to each other, hung out a lot as kids, me, (Y/N) and Xander.”

Giles slowly sat down, and he looked towards the door before turning back to her.

“I.. I want to know what you can tell me about them. The reason behind all the fighting.”

Willow frowned a little bit, setting her book aside.

“I don’t really know much, they were pretty happy as a kid, then something changed, and they just started fighting. Every night they come back all bloodied and bruised, and the day after they always have money.”

“Underground fighting?” He asked shocked.

“Probably. Like it would make sense right? But when I asked they told me to drop it.”

He nodded his head and made his way towards his office instead.

He’d been trying to reach out to you, trying to get you to calm down, but you didn’t seem interested, it was like you lived for the fighting, and he knew how that would end.

One day you were going to take it too far, and with all the strange occurrences in Sunnydale, Giles never thought the hardest thing he had to do was try to help a student who was on a one way street to being beaten to death.

When the bell went, the others came back in and not long later you followed, once again sporting another bruise.

“May we Uhm.. may we talk?” Giles whispered.

He gestured to his office and you followed him, watching as he closed the door and he gestured to the chair.

You sat down, and he handed you an ice pack.

“What?” You asked.

“It… it has come to my attention that you may be participating in… in uh.. well illegal fighting. I want to know if this is true?”

“What’s it to do with you?”

“These place are dangerous and they get out of hand quickly, it’s not safe for a teenager, let alone anybody else to be taking that sort of damage (Y/N). How many fractures, how many broken bones have you left to go untreated? Who knows what else that may have occurred during these fights.”

“So what? I get money I don’t care, I win every fight.”

“At what cost? The cost of broken bones? Blood? One day it will be the cost of your life, then it’ll be too late.”

You said nothing and turned your attention away.

Giles sighed heavily, sitting down on the edge of his desk as he looked at you.

“Please don’t keep doing this to yourself…”

“You don’t get it. You adults do.”

“Then.. then… explain it to me, let me understand why you do this.”

You stayed quiet and he sighed gently.

“I do worry for you (Y/N), I really do. I worry that one day it’ll be too late to do anything to help you. If you need help please just ask.”

You stood up, gently tossing the ice pack on the desk.

“I don’t need help. Not anymore.”

With that you left and for the rest of the day you ignored him.

A few days had gone by and Giles was doing some research on the creature Buffy was trying to slay, and he had books all around him.

There was a noise outside, and he looked up from his book, staring at the door, he didn’t hear anything else and he got up, heading to his office.

You cursed a little as you fell into one of the lockers, arm wrapped around yourself, your other arm supporting your against the locker, slipping because of the blood.

You let out a pained breath, taking another few unsure steps.

You were trying to find the nurses office, hoping to raid a few supplies from there like you usually did, but you saw the light in the library.

Pushing yourself away from the lockers, you stumbled over and fell into the door, slowly pulled the other one open.

You walked around the corner, and you stumbled again, catching yourself on the desk.

“Buffy?”

Giles walked out from his office, eyes glued on the book.

“Mr Giles…”

His head snapped up, and he saw you barely able to stand on your own to feet, and you gave him a weak smile.

“I… I think I fucked up..”

Setting his book down he rushed over, wrapping an arm around you to help you over to one of the chairs and he carefully sat you down.

“What happened? Who did this? We need to get you to the hospital.”

“No! I.. I can’t.. afford that…” you mumbled.

Giles nodded and he looked around.

“Don’t move.”

He ran out the library and a few minutes later he came back with some stuff from the nurses office and set them on the table.

You were bloodied all over, and he tried to prioritise the main causes, cleaning them and bandaging them.

You said nothing, just stared at the ceiling, breathing deeply through the pain.

“You’ve been gone for days, what happened to you (Y/N)?”

You didn’t reply, and he got a damp cloth, cleaning your arms, then he sat on the table.

“(Y/N) I need to clean your face, make sure there’s no serious damage, can you look at me?”

You turned your head to him, and he began to clean your face, mindful of any bruises or cuts that he came across.

“What happened?”

“I… I lost a fight…” you whispered.

“I warned you this was going to get out of hand, that you would get seriously hurt, why did you go back?”

You laughed weakly, shaking your head.

“This wasn’t the.. the fight…”

Giles paused, and he furrowed his brows a little in confused.

“Who did this to you?” He whispered.

You clenched your jaw, and you turned away from him, sitting forward with a pained groaned you stared at your hands.

“My father… he… he was so pissed off…”

Giles slowly set the cloth down.

“I.. I shouldn’t have lost… it was my fault… I.. I’ll just have to do better next time…”

“No.”

Giles got down from the table and he crouched down in front of you, resting his arms on his legs.

“You will not try harder next time, because there isn’t going to be a next time do you understand me? You are not to go back there and try again.”

“I have to…”

“(Y/N) you don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to, okay? I don’t want you going back there to get yourself hurt even more.”

You didn’t look at him.

“Why does your father make you do this?” He asked carefully.

He wasn’t sure if it was a question he should be asking, but he had to know.

“(Y/N) I need to know why your father beat you black and blue because you lost a fight, I need to know why he is sending you into these fights.”

“For money…”

Giles slowly stood his glasses off, setting them on the table and he stood up, running a hand down his face.

You looked up at him before you turned away.

“He’s a drunk… been a drunk since I was a kid.. I’m scared to go back because he’s there… if I get money it’s not so bad… maybe he’ll just hit me with his fists instead of a belt… he wants money for more beer… I get it and.. and the beating isn’t as bad…”

“And… and if you don’t get it?”

You laughed weakly, gesturing to yourself, and you looked at the floor.

“I.. I know there’s no excuse for the things I did…”

You took another pained breath, and you watched as your tears fell on to the carpet.

“I.. I guess I got used to the pain… it’s normal…”

“No, no, no, it isn’t normal (Y/N). That is far from normal. This is abuse, this is.. this is.. horrible.. I’m so sorry..”

You stood up, and you looked at him, arm still wrapped tightly around yourself, tears leaving marks in the dirt and blood on your face.

“Giles you.. you said if I need help to ask…”

You turned away, back to staring at the floor.

“I.. I need help… please…”

Giles took a shaky breath, and he titled his head back for a second to clear his eyes, putting his glasses on and he cleared his throat.

“Of course I will, but we need to take you to the hospital. Don’t worry about money, I’ll sort all of that out, okay? We.. we’ll get you looked at, and.. and we’ll talk to the police…”

You nodded your head and you began to walk towards the door, Giles walk one’s next to you, opening any doors for you.

You said nothing as you walked towards his car and neither did he.

Because he didn’t know what to say, because no words were going to fix the damage that was done to you, no words would reassure you.

You needed actions.

You needed someone to show you that violence wasn’t the only thing in the world, you needed someone to show you that there was so much more out there.

And the first step was Giles ensuring you were treated for all your injures and that you were removed from the care of the monster who you called a father, even if it meant he had to take on the responsibilities for you

submissions are closed, and we are ready to start round 1!

a few things to be aware of...

78 bobs have been submitted to the tournament, and the first round will consist of 39 matches

each matchup has been decided at random (some of them have put my beloved bob blorbos in dire situations but. we move) by a random name generator - I haven't selected the match-ups myself

each match will last for a week, and I will post two matches a day

you can still send bobaganda (bob propaganda) when the tournament is underway! stick up for your bob blorbos! each poll has a section for bobaganda, and if one of your faves' has been left empty, please help me out by sending some my way! you can even submit reasons that your faves bob should win if they already have bobaganda attached - you can never show too much love to your favourite bob!
