C H A R A C T E R:S T A T S
FULL NAME: Willow Hale, Willow Rose, Willow Harte
AGE: 26 - 31
SPECIES: Human, Empath, Witch or Siren
DATE OF BIRTH: 07 July
GENDER IDENTITY: She/Her
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual
VERSE: TLOU, Supernatural, Open to Verses
C H A R A C T E R:A P P E A R A N C E
FACE CLAIM: Bridget Satterlee
HEIGHT: 5′0
WEIGHT: 108lbs
HAIR COLOR: Naturally white, currently dyed light brown
EYE COLOR: Brown
DOMINANT HAND: Right
SCARS: She has several deep scars, wounds and reminders of a past life.
TATTOOS: Willow has several tattoos across her body but perhaps the most important two are the ones that she bares on wrist and side. Her left wrist is covered by a blooming rose, with a budding rose below and a stem that reaches half way down her forearm. This one represents her freedom. Willow has a crescent moon etched into her left side, parallel to the edge of her breast. The moon is not your typical crescent, it’s shape is made up of budding roses and the vine of a Weeping Willow tree. Though the Weeping Willow tree has many meanings in many cultures, it is known to honour the moon, forever connected to it. Both of these are on the left, the feminine side.
PIERCINGS: She has double piercings in her ear lobes, one side with her upper ear pierced, and her belly button.
C H A R A C T E R:D O S S I E R
Ever the prim and proper young lady, Willow was raised in high class aristocracy. Born to a long line of nobility and old money, her last name carried more weight than she had on her bones. Willow lived her life embracing her heritage, because that’s just what a proper young lady should do. It was a picture perfect life, at least on the outside. Behind closed doors, that picture told a horror story.
The expectations of her status weren’t just pressed upon her, they were beaten into her. Years of abuse had her dreaming of escaping this world, and all the expectations that came with it. As soon as she turned 21, and her trust fund kicked in, Willow took the money and ran. Dying her hair and escaping to the other side of the country, she took low profile jobs and kept moving, always looking over her shoulder.
IN A SUPERNATURAL UNIVERSE: Her witch/empath/siren abilities helped her along the way, but now in a town full of more species than she had lore for, Willow was more on edge than ever before. Keeping her abilities a secret whenever possible, to keep under the radar... She hadn’t entertained the possibility of a home, a true home since running away... yet here, there was hope. The only problem with standing still? Was facing your demons.
IN A THE LAST OF US VERSE: Willow grew up without any money, just the daughter of a single father who new nothing of humanity, mercy or kindness. He was a monster unlike any other, and she prayed every day for him to be taken from her. Unfortunately, she learned the true meaning of be careful what you wish for when the outbreak occured. Her father didn't survive the first wave, dying in 2003. Her age at that time will depend on her age now. She's been alone for the last twenty years, spending the first few years being cared for on and off by people who found her, until she eventually went out on her own. She spent several years crossing the country in search for a home.
Finding one on the outskirts of Jackson, Willow has taken residence in a cabin a few miles up the side of a mountain that overlooks the highway out of town. Facing a gas station. She has a mechanical background, learning from others and teaching herself how to fix and maintain machines, cars, anything with metal or wires. Her cabin is hooked up to water coming out of Jackson, with electricity from a generator she traded for food and supplies she grows in a little garden behind her and powered by gas she siphoned early on when finding the now overrun gas station. No one knows where she lives; preferring to remain hidden, a ghost in the wind now that she has a home.
After twenty years alone in an apocalypse, there were worse monsters than her father, and she'd met her fare share along the way.

Review: Courageous by Willow Rose
Courageous by Willow RoseMy rating: 4 of 5 stars This was a satisfying ending to a semi-completed boxed set. I found the whole story a bit confusing until I let go of my preconceived notions of what the afterlife should be and accepted this as the author’s young adult fantasy. The whole story is fun and a little different. Give it a try if you need an escape from the confusion of the real…

REVIEW
Don’t Let Her Go by Willow Rose
Detective Billie Ann Wilde #1
This is not an easy review to write. The premise for the book, inspired by real life, had great promise. It felt fragmented and was difficult to sink my teeth into. There were many characters that popped up in scenes that felt out of the blue and though eventually tied to the main case Billie was following, didn’t necessarily have a purpose to further the story.
As for Billie, the main character, she wasn’t easy to warm up to. Her past definitely impacts her but a lot of it was revealed but not necessarily dealt with in this book. And what a mixed bag the issues they are: medical, personal, gender, religious, health, social, professional, family, marital…and the list goes on. How she handles some of the issues will no doubt be looked at and dealt with in future books of the series. Perhaps she will grow as the series continues – I hope so – and that she will figure out how to move forward successfully while navigating all those issues
As for the crime(s) in this book – there is a serial killer that is killing to cover up another heinous crime that is ongoing and harmful to more than one person. I guessed who the killer was early in the story so skimmed to get fill in the details. The bad guy is caught, his friend is in the wind, at least one of those harmed is better off, and hopefully in the future stories more information will be given about Kitty and her children.
Did I like this book? It was okay
Would I read more in the series? Maybe
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3 Stars based on averaging the 2 for my overall feelings + 4 for the NetGalley ask if it is publish-worthy
BLURB
A missing five-year-old girl is the key to unlocking a detective’s terrifying past… When Detective Billie Ann Wilde receives a desperate call that five-year-old Emma Wilson is missing, she rushes to the family home. But inside the picture-perfect house surrounded by Florida marshlands, she finds no children’s clothes or toys, no photos of the innocent child Emma’s mother Marissa describes. Billie suspects Marissa Wilson is hiding from someone. It’s a race against the clock to find Emma. But Marissa refuses to tell Billie anything about her past, and before long, she also disappears… And then Billie realizes who Marissa is. She’s the ten-year old girl Billie failed to find in her first ever case fourteen years ago. The leads went cold because Billie made a fatal mistake. As more bodies turn up in the same marshlands, Billie must revisit her past and face up to her demons to find Marissa and her child. But she is unknowingly putting herself in the path of a terrifying serial killer… An explosive new crime series from multi-million-copy bestseller Willow Rose. Fans of Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni and Kendra Elliot will be on the edge of their seats, unable to put this book down!

Suffice to say, since I ought to, this is the last available volume on my kindle, so, this better not end on a cliffhanger like the last one. <- as you can see I wrote this before diving into this third volume. And I’m happy to announce that NO, no cliffhangers like before. I had to wait to finish this book cause my kindle died when I reached 60% or something of the book. Then I had to wait some more, cause while I connected the cable, I forgot to plug it. Old brain. Also, I gotta say, weird timing, me finishing books on point. It’s 4pm on a Monday, FYI.
Last book, we had Olivia, our main characters daughter being sold to the black market. And her mom abandoning everything to get to her before something nasty happened. A lot of nasty things happened. To Olivia. To a lot of people, actually. I got tears in my eyes on some parts. On this volume, Eva Rae, actually made some detective points. She made mistakes, but she wasn’t that bad from the main book. Forgive me, cause I jumped on this one coming from the perfect FBI profiler from a different book and author. The contrast was immense. But both authors captivated me differently.
Gotta admit that at some point I stopped paying attention to characters name, but I clocked the corrupted cop immediately (nothing against bald people, just the crazy in their eyes), and history tells that some chapters are the killer’s POV. So, that one was easy. There was a plot twist, which I won’t go into detail, but damn. I’m glad everyone that mattered survived even tho at times I was like, “no way”. And Eva Rae says “I love you” for the first time.
And that’s all folks. This series end for me here, until further notice. The next book is on my wishlist. One day the fourth book is coming. I’ll get back to these reviews and check it out, but will probably have to turn some pages to remember the plot, since I haven’t given anything away here.
It’s nerve wrecking. Sayonara.

Review: The Afterlife Series Box Set by Willow Rose
The Afterlife Series Box Set by Willow RoseMy rating: 4 of 5 stars I have finally finished reading not only this but the fourth book. This book was supposed to be the complete series. And probably when I got it, it was all the author had ready. But the ending was a cliffhanger. Had that been all, I would have been very disappointed. Still, the three-book set was fun. One has to put aside theology…

Top Ten Tuesday: Unread Books on My Shelves I Want to Read Soon
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Every Tuesday, a new topic is assigned from the schedule below. Then, you take that topic and fly free with it. You can do as little or as much as you want to (I have…
