Milestone Monday
On this day, September 18, in 1793, George Washington laid the cornerstone of the United States Capitol Building. He was aided by eight Freemasons dressed in full masonic regalia marking the beginning of a period of construction that lasted seven years and the dawning of the growth of the nation. In 1792, Thomas Jefferson put out a call for architectural design submissions for the Capitol Building and was won over by a late entry from amateur architect William Thornton. Thornton’s design was officially approved in April of 1793, with the caveat that French architect Stephen Hallet would review and modify his plans as needed.
Architect Glenn Brown (1854-1932) explored the history and design of the Capitol Building in his book History of the United States Capitol, published in two volumes by the Government Publishing Office from 1900-1903. For a decade, Brown worked with numerous institutions and organizations to gather plans, illustrations, and the history of the building through architecture and interior design. He highlights that the importance of the building’s merit is not just in its construction and completeness, but its aspirations. Historian Charles Moore, secretary to Michigan Senator James McMillan, writes in the introduction, “[T]he Capitol is not a creation, but a growth, and its highest value lies in the fact that it never was, and it never will be, finished.”

William took her hand "breathe darling... always remember to breathe"

A few minutes later their baby girl was born. Her name is Anna.

She was so tired, but she couldn't stop looking at her daughter... their daughter. To be married to him and having a family with William was one of her dream coming true.
She sang a song to Anna to sleep

It was time. Sofia got into labor, she was sad and scared.
William was panicking and Mary stepped in and tried to soothe her "it's going to be fine, my dear"

The next morning Mary asked how Sofia was doing and she said "awful, but I could get a good night of sleep"
when she finished the sentence she started to feel pain
"Breathe, Sofia... breathe"

The pain ceased for a while and she decided to walk around the property, she even played at this pond. But soon the contractions were back and she was brought to reality

"There you are!" William said "I've been looking for you... how are you?"
"I'm alright. Better with you here"
William smiled "You should be resting, Sofia"

"The walks hel--" and then she groaned feeling a sharp pain in her womb. Immediatly William put his arms around her. He was sad that she was in so much pain for so long, but he said "I'm here, Sofia"

After Daniel got married to Ethel, he left the Thorntons and they had to hire a new butler. Ruth doesn't like her.
"I'm gonna tell mom and daddy you're mean"
Esther feigned concern "Oh no! Don't do it" and then she laughed "I don't care, little brat"

William tried to work from home that day. He wanted to read some book to distract him.
Meanwhile Sofia was feeling dazed from exhaustion

Go on and Pull Yourself Together
Tumblr media
There was a lot of things that was upsetting in this episode.
Once again, the women claims that Candiace Dillard Bassett is the problem, and it’s very disappointing.
“The Mouth,” they called her. “She picked up the champagne bottle,” they argued.
But Karen Huger could see that the fight had been intentional and was an attention-seeking action from Deborah Williams, and that’s exactly what it was.
Deborah went out of her way to confront Candiace, who tried to dismiss her.
Karen also stressed that Ashley Darby had brought around people who wanted to hurt them.
That’s a very good point. This showed that it’s possible for outsiders to come into the group and cause them harm. Outsiders like Deborah.
And it’s not exactly the first time Ashley has done that. She pushed the lies Deborah was spewing last season and continued to bring her around the women.
Michael Darby filed a lawsuit against Candiace that got dismissed because it violated the contract with Bravo.
It was particularly upsetting when Ashley basically blamed Candiace for the altercation in her confessional.
She told one thing to the women and another in her confessional.
Putting Deborah on pause is a freaking mild action after the problems they’ve caused in two seasons in a row now.
Is Candiace really the problem?
Wendy Osefo told Ashley that Deborah clearly came with an agenda to cause problems at the event.
Mia Thornton said that Deborah was still posting nasty things about the fight on social media after sobering up.
Deborah is the problem, and Ashley has supported her.
This was a dark stain on RHOP, and the fact that Gizelle Bryant was heartbroken because of her father’s illness, it made it a very heavy finale.
Thank God for messy Mia and Gordon Thornton who really turned up the heat on their marital issues.
After the season wrapped filming, their separation was announced, and Gordon publicly accused her of being a gold digger.
Now he also questioned who’s the real father of Mia’s son!
They should’ve focused on Mia more closely this season. What a wasted opportunity.
