Pierce's Chapel Methodist Church-Wilkes County, Georgia
Pierce’s Chapel Methodist Church started on the Little River Circuit in Wilkes County and is one of the earlier Methodist meeting houses in the area. The church’s first house of worship was built in 1846. According to church history, the congregation began to fundraise for a new building in 1899. By 1901, they had a new place to worship, which is the building you see today.

Leaders of Pennsylvania’s Polish community endorsed Kamala Harris following her debate shoutout. There are 800,000 Polish-Americans in the commonwealth, which Democrats won by 80,000 votes in 2020. 
Members of Pennsylvania’s Polish community penned a letter endorsing Kamala Harris after Harris, at the debate earlier this month, warned that Donald Trump would allow Russia to invade Poland once the war in Ukraine is finished under a Trump administration. 
“Vice President Harris has a long, strong track record of protecting our democracy here at home and standing up for our brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents in Poland – the same people Vladimir Putin hopes to attack next if Ukraine were to fall,” the letter read.
“Polish people in the US and around the world know that our future is tied to Ukraine’s because if Putin is allowed to trample Ukraine, we know his next target could be Poland. Trump bowed to dictators like Putin before and he will do it again if he is reelected.”
Its signatories include veterans, social workers, small business owners and several elected officials, including US Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Chester) and State Reps. Jessica Benham (D-Allegheny), Eddie Day Pashinski (Luzerne County) and Melissa Cerrato (D-Montgomery County).
There are roughly 800,000 Polish-Americans living in Pennsylvania, with large communities in Western and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The letter’s co-signers hope this outreach to the Polish community can help secure a Harris victory in Pennsylvania, which Democrats carried by less than 80,000 in the 2020 presidential election. 
During the debate, Harris ripped Trump for his cozy relationship with Putin.   
“If Donald Trump were president, [Vladimir] Putin would be sitting in Kiev right now, and understand what that would mean because Putin’s agenda is not just about Ukraine,” Harris said. 
“Why don’t you tell the 800,000 Polish Americans in Pennsylvania, how quickly you would give up for the sake of favor and what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator, who would eat you for lunch.” 
In the days following the debate, Harris returned to Pennsylvania and rallied over 5,000 supporters at Wilkes University in Luzerne County, which has one of the highest concentrations of Polish Americans in Pennsylvania and is the only county in the country with a Polish plurality among its residents. 
“We sincerely believe the freedoms and livelihoods of our families at home and abroad rest upon rejecting Donald Trump and turning the page with Kamala Harris this fall,” the Pennsylvanians wrote.
“The last presidential election in Pennsylvania was decided by just 80,000 votes, which is why we are calling on our friends and neighbors to cast their votes for the leaders who will maintain alliances that make our world safer, expand our freedoms here at home, and protect the American dream for us all.”

Western North Carolina generally consists of 29 counties, that when combined form a total regional area of roughly 13,000 square miles and is roughly the size of the state of Massachusetts.
There are 82 mountain peaks between 5,000 and 6,000 feet in elevation in western North Carolina and 43 peaks rise to over 6,000 feet.
Among the subranges of the Appalachian Mountains located in western North Carolina are the Great Smoky Mountains, Blue Ridge Mountains, South Mountains, Brushy Mountains, Great Balsam Mountains, Great Craggy Mountains, the Plott Balsams, and the Black Mountains.
Mount Mitchell, in the Black Mountains, is, at 6,684 feet, the highest point in eastern North America.
The major rivers in the region include the French Broad River, Nolichucky River, Watauga River, Little Tennessee River, and Hiwassee River flowing into the Tennessee River valley; the New River flowing into the Ohio River valley; and the headwaters and upper valleys of the Catawba River, Yadkin River, Broad River, and Saluda River flowing through the foothills towards the Atlantic.
The Eastern Continental Divide runs through the region, dividing Tennessee-bound streams from those flowing through the Carolinas.

Dead #PresidentsDay Abraham Lincoln #BlackHistoryMonth #AbrahamLincoln became the #UnitedStates’ 16th President in 1861, issuing the #EmancipationProclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy in 1863.
Lincoln warned the South in his Inaugural Address: “In your hands, my dissatisfied fellow countrymen, and not in mine, is the momentous issue of civil war. The government will not assail you…. You have no oath registered in Heaven to destroy the government, while I shall have the most solemn one to preserve, protect and defend it.”
Lincoln thought secession illegal, and was willing to use force to defend Federal law and the Union. When Confederate batteries fired on Fort Sumter and forced its surrender, he called on the states for 75,000 volunteers. Four more slave states joined the Confederacy but four remained within the Union. The Civil War had begun.
The son of a Kentucky frontiersman, Lincoln had to struggle for a living and for learning. Five months before receiving his party’s nomination for President, he sketched his life:
“I was born Feb. 12, 1809, in Hardin County, Kentucky. My parents were both born in Virginia, of undistinguished families–second families, perhaps I should say. My mother, who died in my tenth year, was of a family of the name of Hanks…. My father … removed from Kentucky to … Indiana, in my eighth year…. It was a wild region, with many bears and other wild animals still in the woods. There I grew up…. Of course when I came of age I did not know much. Still somehow, I could read, write, and cipher … but that was all.”
Lincoln made extraordinary efforts to attain knowledge while working on a farm, splitting rails for fences, and keeping store at New Salem, Illinois. He was a captain in the Black Hawk War, spent eight years in the Illinois legislature, and rode the circuit of courts for many years. His law partner said of him, “His ambition was a little engine that knew no rest.”
He married Mary Todd, and they had four boys, only one of whom lived to maturity. In 1858 Lincoln ran against Stephen A. Douglas for Senator. He lost the election, but in debating with Douglas he gained a national reputation that won him the Republican nomination for President in 1860.
As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong national organization. Further, he rallied most of the northern Democrats to the Union cause. On January 1, 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy.
Lincoln never let the world forget that the Civil War involved an even larger issue. This he stated most movingly in dedicating the military cemetery at Gettysburg: “that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain–that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom–and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
Lincoln won re-election in 1864, as Union military triumphs heralded an end to the war. In his planning for peace, the President was flexible and generous, encouraging Southerners to lay down their arms and join speedily in reunion.
The spirit that guided him was clearly that of his Second Inaugural Address, now inscribed on one wall of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D. C.: “With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation’s wounds…. ”
On Good Friday, April 14, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre in Washington by John Wilkes Booth, an actor, who somehow thought he was helping the South. The opposite was the result, for with Lincoln’s death, the possibility of peace with magnanimity died.

So, Damian killed her father. Yikes. He is eventually forgiven in the comic series, Robin: Son of Batman. Which features one of the few depictions of brown Damian
She's his big sister (Damian being 10 y.o. in R:SoB and Maya 14 y.o.)
She was the first person of his siblings that he called by their name.
She helps Damian with undercover missions (as seen in Supersons), is a proficient fighter, also an ex-assassin, and the voice of reason.
Maya is black-latina.
Maya hasn't appeared in the recent timeline, last she was seen with Kathy (aka Beacon) in their own base.

Suren Darga
Like Damian, they both are initially interested into following their father's footsteps.
The Darga and the al Ghuls are rivals. But DC hasn't mentioned again since R:SoB
He's arab too! Like Damian.
Suren is a magician too.
If you think the al Ghuls are stuck in past, the Darga's are way more in the past.
He's also pretty exaggerated. I think he was dead but got resuscitated (it's been years since I've read R:SoB and my English wasn't as good as it is now)

Colin Wilkes
He's an orphan, who's also a meta-human. Colin was experimented on, and when he's using his powers he doesn't look alike, he goes by Abuse.
He's a little bit like Jon, except that Jon is a little shit who never hesitates to fight Damian. Colin is a nice kid.
He appears a lot in Li'l Gotham. Damian takes him to the BatCave, and even lets his friend use a batsuit.
Colin hasnt appeared in a while because DC doesn't like Damian having friends or something.

Mia "Maps" Mizoguchi
She's from the comic series "Gotham Academy" (currently working on a fic that has the GA kids)
I never understood if Maps got a crush on Damian or on his weapon(?) But they're cute together
She's a bit eccentric, likes to wear suits instead of dresses.
Maps like cartography, that's where the nickname Maps comes from.
She gets into trouble a lot. Dreams to be Robin, well she kindda is.
Maps as Robin was a thing during the We Are Robin arc, and on one more newish solo issue which probably means there's more of Gotham Academy in the works!!!

Kathy Branden (aka Beacon)
She's actually not Damian’s friend, she's Jon's.
Kathy is Jon's neighbor from when they lived in Hamilton County and he went by Jonathan Samuel White.
She's an alien like Jonny.
Seemingly DC was aiming to pair them.
So, Kathy and Damian develop a friendly relationship and ofc they're allies.
She lives on her own, in her farm along with Maya.

She's the daughter of Dusan al Ghul (aka White Ghost), older than Talia but because of his albinism he was discarded of being the heir.

Where's that White Privilege?
In 1939, in the rural heart of Wilkes County, North Carolina, Miss May Brown’s life mirrored the harsh conditions faced by many families during that era. At 30 years old, Miss Brown’s existence was centered around her aging parents and their small rented homestead—a one-acre plot that was both their livelihood and their greatest burden. The Browns relied on this land to grow corn and potatoes, essential crops that Miss Brown tended with her own hands. The landowner received one-third of their harvest as rent, a customary but heavy price to pay, leaving the Browns with just enough to scrape by—though “enough” was a relative term in the tough economy of rural North Carolina.
Miss Brown’s father, aged 60, received an old-age pension of merely $7.00 per month. This small sum, though meager by any measure, was a critical component of the family’s survival. Meanwhile, Miss Brown’s mother, bedridden and ailing for five long months, required constant care. The Browns had no means to afford medical help; such luxuries were a distant reality for them. Despite their poverty, Miss Brown found a way to supplement her father’s pension by engaging in tobacco bag stringing, a home-based occupation that added a vital $2.00 a month to their income. Though a seemingly insignificant amount, it made all the difference to the Browns, providing them with the barest margin of security.
For over fifteen years, Miss Brown had diligently tied drawstrings to small cloth bags used by tobacco companies to package their products. This painstaking task was not only a source of income but a lifeline that allowed her to remain close to home and care for her ailing parents. As the demand for these bags declined, so too did Miss Brown’s ability to earn even this modest income. When the stringing work was finally discontinued, it threatened to unravel what little stability remained in the Brown household.
Their one-room home was more than just cramped; it was a place where everyday challenges intersected with their most intimate struggles. It was untidy out of necessity, having to serve multiple purposes for a family unable to afford the luxuries of space or time. Miss Brown’s parents, confined by age and illness, were unable to assist in maintaining their modest home. The Browns lived without many conveniences taken for granted today—indoor plumbing, running water, and electricity were all beyond their reach. Essentials like flour were often obtained on credit, thanks to the occasional generosity of their local storekeeper.
Despite these hardships, Miss Brown’s resilience and unwavering dedication to her family were their sole defense against complete destitution. She was their caretaker, provider, and protector. The demands of caregiving left her with no realistic opportunities for outside employment, making the loss of her tobacco bag stringing income an almost insurmountable blow. Yet, Miss Brown’s determination to shield her family from the worst of poverty never wavered, even as their situation grew increasingly dire.
The story of Miss May Brown and her family offers a glimpse into the unforgiving reality of rural life in 1939, during the waning years of the Great Depression. It illustrates the vulnerability of families left to fend for themselves in a world where social safety nets were minimal or nonexistent. For the Browns, survival hinged on Miss Brown’s tireless work and their reliance on the thin threads of community goodwill.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Polish Actress Christine Baranski to Wilkes Barre and introduce her to the Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian residents here and in the surrounding areas. She was amazing and helped me knock around the Wilkes Barre area, meeting the people I serve and talking to them about the importance of voting and helping them make a plan to vote! There’s a scene in the new Lincoln assassination miniseries where John Wilkes Booth and John Francis Parker (Lincoln’s bodyguard) are at a bar and JWB is sulking and JFP strikes up a conversation and JWB immediately expresses his distaste for Lincoln, to which JFP says “Oh I’m his bodyguard” and JWB is like “Shouldn’t you be guarding him right now?” and JFP is like “Nah. Also you should be more famous than your father and brother” and JWB says “TOMORROW I SHALL BE THE MOST FAMOUS MAN IN ALL THE COUNTY” and runs out of the bar practically cackling maniacally and brandishing a gun and JFP just shrugs and goes back to his drink.
