Wildlife Photography Doesn't Have To Be Exotic

Photographing wildlife is one of the most amazing experiences I have had as a photographer. Have I ever photographed a Lion? No. Have I ever photographed a wolf? Not in the wild. Have I ever photographed a grizzly bear? No. Eastern Chipmunk at Tanglewood Nature Center. You may be asking yourself, how amazing of an experience can photographing wildlife be if I haven’t photographed any of these…

This little rabbit seems to be enjoying a quiet moment among the rocks. Its soft fur contrasts with the rugged terrain, making for an unexpectedly sweet sight. Capturing these animals in their natural habitat often reveals moments of tranquility like this one, where nature takes center stage in its simplest form.

02/08/24-Feral Pigeons, beautiful views including nice sky, fleabane, Great Crested Grebes and blackberries at Lakeside Country Park and sky at home.

Excellent views of Southern Hawker, Migrant Hawker and possibly Emperor, Black-tailed Skimmer, Common Darter, Azure or Common Blue Damselfly and Blue-tailed Damselfly were captivating to see dashing around in a dazzling dragonfly and damselfly fest on my lunch time and evening Lakeside walks. Other highlights today were House Martin, Moorhen, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Green Woodpecker heard, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Common Blue, a fair few Speckled Woods, Peacock, Comma and Red Admiral butterflies, burdock, nightshade, St. John's-wort, plantain, bird's-foot trefoil, red clover and knapweed.
