Simplisma
It seems that the floodgates to the subject of Wicked Lester have definitely been opened and not properly closed again. And you know how it goes with toothpaste, once it's out you can never get it back in the tube.
So why not continue with it right away and see what else comes out of it. It won't be too much new though, as the one with Paul's '78 solo album might have been an exception. But hey, you can't always hit the bull's eye. So let's make do today with Charisma from Dynasty (1979) and its somewhat simpler predecessor Simple Type (1972). Whose riff is of course 1:1 the one from Charisma, until it just won't budge after the first run through, and a little bit later mutates into something completely different.
If I'm not mistaken, Gene had even used this riff for another song before the Wicked Lester days, I mean, who can remember all that stuff, but obviously for years it just didn't seem significant enough for him to find a use for Kiss between 1974-77, or even his '78 solo album. And in those days neither he nor Paul were stingy with their recycling practices.
And here you can see how little Gene must have had up his sleeve in '79, taking the idea for the lyrics from his manager buddy and spinning them on, and taking the riff from a pre-pre-Kiss predecessor demo that had been omitted until then. But, at least he picked the most interesting, albeit catchiest part for Charisma.
Luckily for me, because I really love this song.

Me Waiting For Bye-Byes
Wicked Lester has always been one of those things for me.
You know, the kind of thing that you remain aware of, but like to put off as you please. Something like the Kiss reunion pre-1996, while you eagerly await the follow-up studio album to Revenge (1992), if you know what I mean. It's difficult.
But today we have a little treat that I just couldn't pass up, and one that could also be used wonderfully as a kind of door opener to even more Wicked Lester songs. So why not?
In this respect I like to remember a little anecdote about the recordings for Paul's '78 solo album. Wasn't it said by someone relevant (1), vaguely recited, that the last bit of Goodbye was written pretty much as the last of those sessions while everyone else except Paul was on lunch break? And without wanting to question this, I can imagine this scenario quite vividly.
Because as much as I appreciate Paul's solo album and Goodbye, you can hear that. Which of course is not to denounce the quality of the result, no, not in any way, but simply to point out where exactly Paul could have gotten the necessary inspiration so quickly.
One is obviously from Destroyer (1976), but I already wrote enough about that a while ago, and the other, well, has covered a few extra kilometers and must have hopped back into Paul's lap from the then orphaned Wicked Lester album (1972) to the studio in 1978, and incidentally goes by the name of Keep Me Waiting. Goodbye's vocal chorus and Keep Me Waiting's opening and main riff should, I guess, speak for themselves.
And yes indeed, Paul writes best when under pressure *wink emoji
