AILess Whumptober Day 1: Drugged/Poisoned

Happy October!

And with October comes the beloved fic event: Whumptober. I'll be working through some of the @ailesswhumptober prompts this October. Some of them will be Planned and Thoughtful. Others will be random rambling little bits of nonsense for fun and enrichment.

How many I get done is unknown because I also have schoolwork, so we'll just see.

First up is Drugged/Poisoned, set in Hybrid-verse. No idea if this will become canon to that fic, we're just here to have a good time right now.

raw (day 1: poisoned/drugged).

twilight, alice/jasper, pg, hybrid-verse. no warnings.

The building is dark and cold, and very, very quiet now that the power is off. It’s not a large building, but large enough that he needs to find Alice immediately and get her out. They don’t know enough about who this person is and what they want with her to take any extra time. Rose took down the wifi and any backup cameras when she shut off the power, so there’s zero chance of witnesses.

She’s in the room just at the junction of the building; the door is double-bolted and it takes no effect just to break the lock at the hinge and step through.

It’s a grey cinder-block of a room with a fine layer of filth - dust, dirt, dead flies and debris - on all the surfaces. There’s a rusted metal chair in one corner, and an ancient cot with a split, rotting mattress half-on it.

Alice is there on the cot, with her back to him; her shirt is torn open and he can see her spine and the wide bruises that has bloomed against her skin.

And she’s not moving.

Jasper’s never moved so fast in his life. She’s still alive; he can hear her sluggish heartbeat if he listens carefully. But he’s never see his girl so still; even asleep, she twitches and wriggles and moves around.

“Alice? Alice?”

He’s too rough when he grabs her shoulder he realizes as he rolls her over; there’ll be a bruise and he immediately hates himself. But she doesn’t flinch, doesn’t make any sound or indication that he’s hurt her, or that she felt it.

She’s unconscious and utterly limp, but the state she’s in… it’s almost hard to look at her. Around her mouth is blistering, raw and red; there bruises across her face and cheeks in various stages of healing. There’s an angry cut so close to her eye that it makes Jasper feel oddly sick. She looks so fragile and broken, and he needs her to wake up so he can fix this. Everything will be fine if she wakes up; she’ll tell him what to do, where it hurts.

“Alice,” he says quietly, pushing his gift against her, trying to trigger her into stirring. Anything. He just needs one indication that she’s with him, that they can get past this. He doesn’t know a goddamn thing about first aid, about a medical emergency.

(Even worrying about her for the last week and a half… he thought he’d covered every possibly scenario but now he’s facing this, he’s realizing a whole new world of terror and horror that he never considered.)

“It’s gonna be okay, Alice,” he murmurs, as if he’s not trying to reassure both of them. She’s so clammy, even in just a torn t-shirt and a thin skirt with the cold of the building.

That’s when he notices the vomit; foamy and unnatural, stuck all over one side of her face and the mattress, with faint pink streaks of blood - the scent blotted out by something sharp and caustic.

He’s not sure if Alice has been poisoned or drugged, but either way, alarm bells are going off in his head. He’s out of his depth; a few bruises and cuts he can deal with. But this… this isn’t right. This is something much bigger and scarier than he anticipated.

(He was the one that insisted he go alone, that the rest of them wait at the cabin. That it would be faster, less detectable if he was by himself. And now he’s here with no way of calling for help, for advice. He’s alone and Alice is clearly hurting and he’s got a 30 mile run with her - in sheets of ice-cold rain - to manage and he doesn’t know what to do.)

There’s a reeking blanket on the floor, but it’ll do. He wraps her in his sweatshirt before the blanket; she might be clammy now, but the rain is icy and some vague voice in his brain that the shock of cold is a bad thing. He needs to hold her head up too; if she vomits again, she might choke.

Her heartbeat and her breathing are both sluggish, the raspy puff against her lips ominous. She needs Carlisle now. She needs everything he can throw at her, every medication and tincture and aid. She’s so fucking thin, and he carefully crossing her arms over her chest before he wraps her in the blanket so that there’s no risk of injury because he’s going to run so very, very fast…

Whoever, whatever did this to her - stole her from her family and trapped her in this place and poisoned her and left her alone in the dark - are going to have to look him in the eye and beg for mercy, spill out every single plan and motivation, before he lets their pain stop.

And even then, their life is the price they’ll pay for laying a single finger in malice on her. He cannot let them walk free for this.

Their departure from the building is swift and efficient; he is no longer trying to be quiet or unseen. If there is anything left to track him, to record his presence, he no longer cares. Let them come, let them confront him.

As they reach the outside, he looks down at Alice, her face grey against the black of his sweatshirt. But she is no worse, and that is enough. But before he ventures back into the rain, he tucks the blanket around her face to protect it.

And then he runs.

(He’s never had anyone that he loved who could get hurt in such a way. Who could be broken like this. He traps the panic right down, to deal with later. He needs to stay calm, he needs to think clearly. They need to get home, to Carlisle and Rose, so she can get medical attention. And then he’ll call her family, let them know she’s been found. After that, that’s when he can fall apart and let the fear and panic devour him.)

"Don't you dare."

Jane paused at his words. His voice was less friendly and was threatening.

How did she get into this mess? Apparently Cherri had gotten a picture of Alastor's tail that Charlie had been trying to get forever now. Only issue is that Alastor's bet with her still needed to last 10 more minutes before he won and she wouldn't be allowed to get updated wifi for the hotel.

Jane had been watching outside an open window. The week having been particularly rough do to her growing tension with Al after she started hanging out with Lucifer more.

She had decided to avoid conflict by avoiding Alastor which made things somehow worse. Especially now that Cherri had thrown the camera across the railing to her after getting tangled in tentacles.

Alastor soon approached with an annoyed look that seemed to become triumphant when he saw her holding the camera

"JANE GET IT TO CHARLIE! Don't let him have it!" Cherri called holding up a bomb in one hand

Jane looked over at Alastor who now had his hand out waiting for her to hand over the camera, and seemed to be growing more agitated she was taking so long when he looked over to see the bomb and then Jane take a glance over to the open window beside her

That is when he gave her his warning

"Don't you dare"

She didn't know what drove her to the decision. But in a move of rare dumb bravery she found herself running on the balcony and climbing down the shoot. Just then there was an Australian fuck yea

"JANE!"

Just as he said it there was an explosion of pink sparkles giving Jane a chance to get away.

She should be fine right? I mean she wa already able to reach a shoot and he was on the other side of the railing-

She screamed just barely dodging his hand grabbing at her as she slipped back into a window into a room. She effectively scared the shit out of Angel Dust who had just went to close it

He didn't have time to say anything before being silenced in terror as a very angry Alastor chased after her.

As Jane ran down the hall she was grateful for the fact she was a doe as she jumped behind the bar swiftly with a surprised Husk.

"HEY W-" they both tensed as Alastor zipped past them

She quickly stuffed the camera into a box under the bar before hopping out.

"What the FUCK is going on!?" Husk called out to her as she went to go down the hall towards Charlie to tell her when she was cut off by Alastor who stood in her way suddenly. Quickly diverting she tried to separate herself by quickly moving to the other side of the couch in the lobby.

Husk watched as Alastor simply walked towards her as she frantically moved around the couch to keep a distance.

"Look! Al! Can't we talk about this? I-GAH!". He slipped into shadows under the couch. She quickly moved to run down the other hall before he emerged

Unfortunately for her his shadow counterpart was waiting for her and grabbed her and wisped her away into shadows.

Husk went to try and help but was stopped by a bright yellow smile in front of him warning him to not interfere. Obediently Husk went back to cleaning a glass, but made sure not to investigate whatever the fuck Jane hid until Alastor was gone as he went to deal with her.

Jane emerged and she quickly tried to wrestle out of the shadows grip that found her struggling amusing. Quickly she realized they were in Al's room

"Shit." She whispered

She had little time to continue her struggle when Alastor casually opened the door and entered in his room before locking the door behind him. Whittle cheerfully as he went.

She froze up, again like a deer in his headlights as he spun around to approach her. His shadow holding up her hands so she couldn't hide anything.

Alastor hummed seeing that her hands were empty. He stepped right in front of her with a demanding voice

"Where is it?"

It was as if he was daring her to try somthing

Her adrenaline was going crazy. She tried to look away but he quickly grabbed her chin roughly as he laughed

"Jane. May I remind you that I've already won our little hunt, and your in quite the bit of trouble already with how much you have been ignoring me~

So I will ask again and you will be a good little Jane and tell me..

Where is it?"

She paused.. He was having way too much fun with this...

Frozen in her place feeling his static surround her. She felt the shadow loosen its grip. She tuned towards the clock

There was still time for Charlie to get the photos and...

...well she was already in trouble..

In the moment Alastor followed her eyes to the clock she did a second stupidly brave move as she bit down on the hand holding her and dipped out of the shadows grip as Alastor pulled away in shock more than anything.

She couldn't believe she had just done that...

WHY DID SHE DO THAT!? Her mind screamed at her as he ran into his bedroom buyou

"Shit!" She stumbled on a riot hearing the voice boom towards her

She quickly dashed behind a tree. She was about to question why she did when she felt his maddened demonic presence shake the tree as he zoomed past just having missed her

Jane's whole body shivered as she forced herself to be as silent as possible

All she had to do was head back the way she came, get out his door, and pray that he would calm down....he would right?

She slowly stepped out from behind the tree and started to quickly walk back towards the room.

She got only a couple steps in when she looked back to check and was spooked by his shadow. She wasn't able to cover her mouth in time to hide her surprise. The sound in the distance told her he DEFINITELY heard her.

She then made a mad dash as the shadow laughed at her. She was running back when suddenly a voodoo creature jumped at her

She dodged but was soon fighting to keep them off her. It wasn't long before two were able to drag her down with a rope in her mouth. The moment she crashed to the ground they quickly overcame her and soon had her bound and helpless.

She was able to throw off the ones trying to still tie the rope in her mouth, then kicked a couple of them away with her bound feet, and was about to bat away another when she was grabbed by a red clawed hand

Fuck

She yelped as she was unceremoniously thrown over his shoulder with a smack to her ass.

"Ah! Al! Please! I don't even have it any-mmmf!" A voodoo creature had the rope back in her mouth and tied so she could only muffle her pleas. As she was spun around as he carried her back towards the room

She tried to struggle in fear of what will happen to her especially since they had already been tense with each other lately.

So you can imagine her surprise when she was flopped down onto his bed. She didn't have time to react when his crazed face was on top of her and ripped the rope from her face to bring her into a feverish kiss

She could only squirm and and give confused whimpers and moans as he positioned himself to have better access, not letting her escape his tongue as he deepened the kiss

Eventually he pulled away. Her hands stuck behind his head as they were still bound. She looked up to see his crazed look, and his teeth seemed to shine down at her

"Your going to regret that~"

Astra was scared, she had no idea how she ended up in this situation, caught by a crazy alien worshiping cult that wanted her blood, organs, and body for some ritual that she could only mentally describe as 'whack-ass'

Thrown in a holding cell with no windows, vents, or even light, only that coming from the small slit on the door.

Her component pouch was snatched from her to prevent her from casting anything that would aid in her escape.

With Cameras likely watching her, so she couldn't pull anything from her bag of holding without it alerting them to her lie that it was a simple bag, enchanted to get ingredients preserved.

At that thought she quickly huddled into a corner and used her cape to hide her form the best she could, she was facing a corner, her cape hood pulled up, her back facing the door and the rest of the cell, it dropped in the rest of the fabric of the cape.

It didn't obscure her movements, but it was enough to hide what she was doing. This place likely had Wi-Fi phone, and radio signals blocked, which sure, made sense, but did they have magic signal blockers that even without all those, allowed her to stay connected to the internet?

Probably not, because they were not as terminally online as she was.

She quickly turned her phone's screen light down and silenced it, and snapped a picture of herself, thankfully she never had the flash on to begin with.

Next she went to her discord app, and found the room she and the Hamato's were in and quickly typed, not worrying to much of typos and autocorrect, only that the message got crossed:

Astra breathed a sigh of relief, one chat was on their way.. but she went and copied and pasted her message into another chat, one with her hometown team in it.

She couldn't help but think about how she was a admin there, and thought quickly, copying the invite link and slapping it into the turtle-tank to let the Hamato's join in coordinating this rescue effort, despite the fear of them not getting along, she knew how Inferno and Drakus could get.. Still, seeing her friends talking helped calmed her nerves.

At the sound of noise, she quickly socked her phone away back into her bag of holding to ensure it wouldn't be confiscated.

She didn't need it out, and it wouldn't mess with Donnie tracking her, as it wasn't what he was tracking, but the subdermal tracker Donnie had on her, and she'd improved with her magic for her and his family..

She just now needed to survive till the groups got there to help her. ----

Some hours later, the groups were sneaking outside the compound in which Astra was being held, Donnie antsy to get in there and get her out, Devi, Astra's father, was ready to storm the place like a wrecking ball, the only thing keeping him from doing so was the fact Wolf was keeping the small wizard under his arm like a sack of potatoes... That and holding him partially like a bomb.

The last to arrive to the party was Mata, Astra's sword teacher, the strawberry-blond, nine-tailed Kitsune, but he was not in his normal kimono outfit, which took Leo by surprise the most.

In fact he wasn't in his normal fluffy, fox yokai form at all, this was a tall, young, willowy man with dark skin, and tattoo's on his shoulders.. Dressed down in black in what was clearly ninja gear, but.. Something was off and Leo knew it, as his eyes darted over the man it became clear why.

Mata wasn't just dressed like a ninja, it clicked with Leo that Mata, was in fact a ninja, but not any kind, he was a full-blown Shinobi, an assassin...

"Raph still thinks this is to many people." Raph grumbled as he looked at the people there, the group was large, more chances at them getting caught, but Leo clearly had a plan.

Leo tsked as he looked over at the defensive wall and at the cameras and guards, there were far more people and security here then he'd expected.

"Donnie, you got the cameras?" Leo whispered to his twin, who gave an affirmative nod as he worked to disable any and all alarms.

"Good, now we just need to deal with the guards--" "Don't worry, I have that covered."

Mata told Leonardo grimly, and before the blue turtle could protest, the fox was gone in the blink of an eye.

A series of cracks and gurgles caught his attention as he looked to the wall where two guards below now lay slumped and unmoving.

Wolf, the werehusky-wolf cringed. "Ohh.. thats gonna hurt when they wake up." He commented as if he was watching a sporting event.

It did ease Leo's nerves about Mata likely murdering them without hesitation.

He then spotted movement above as Mata was quickly paralyzing the guards with a series of hand movements to their backs before knocking them out.. But one unlucky guard, saw him as his partner slumped to the ground in front of him.

This caused Mata's red eyes to widen in surprise but quickly he lunged to paralyze the guard, only for him to move out of the way, and strike Mata harshly in the center of his back with the butt of his gun.

Mata hissed out in pain, but quickly recovered, despite his back now screaming at him to stop moving. He needed to keep this guy from sounding the alarm.

The guard went to run, pulling out his radio, but Mata was quicker on the draw, using a Kunai to break the device in one swift shot.

The guard panicked, dropped the device, and focused on running, only to be out-run by Mata, who was now in front of him, ready to try and knock the man out, only for him to dodge and slide under Mata's arm.

Mata cursed under his breath and moved swiftly to catch up and then stated harshly, in a low tone.

"You don't want to do this," he warned.

Mata's warning was met by a middle finger, and the drawing of a gun, that would surely alert the whole base.

Mata had the decision to make now, and it was one he didn't take likely, blow their cover and try to disarm the man, and let him get a shot off? or ensure silence and their plan..

Astra's life was at stake, as where there's if caught, so the life of one.. for the lives of many who this man threatened.

Without hesitation and a swift movement, Mata drew one of his dual blades and aimed for the neck as he lunged at the guard taking aim at him.

Sadly for him, Mata was faster, with a sickening thud and smattering of blood, the man lay motionless on the ground, in a puddle of blood.

Mata let out a disappointed huff, he did not want to do that, and his hand was forced. He looked to where the group was, and raised his bloody sword hand with a thumbs up and a smile with his eyes, as his mouth and nose were hidden by his mask.

"... Remind me not to get on that guy's bad side." Leo cringed in equal parts amazement and horror.

You gather your nerves a moment, which is fair, strange doors have not been so innocuous for you as of late, then creep up to the establishment and push open the door, it gives easily and quietly you slip in, behind the door is small hallway with thick curtains you brush aside, you're looking at a small illuminated room that you would guess is the entrance to the museum, but there's no one manning the front, you call out and knock on the desk yet no answer, you've already come this far so you go further in.

At first it's just pictures on the walls in moderately open spaced windowless rooms, the pictures themselves are interesting, supposed creatures sighted, this places versions of UFO's and Bigfoot's, but also nothing you haven't flipped past in the books you've been searching, the next room is the same and you're beginning to feel the weight of your trespassing misconduct the longer you linger, the museum seems to be set up in a circle so if you keep going forward you should end up back at the front so you move on, the next room has a large curtained off display that takes up most of the back wall, your curiosity piqued you move to pull aside the curtain, the fabric is soft and slides beneath your fingers, you raise it just enough to see a picture on the wall of a strange landscape, short blue and grey plants and a dusty pink sky, in the picture is a smiling man holding a book and looking passed the camera, on his jacket dangles a white key...

"May I ask for an explanation?! Our door is closed for the night hours."

You drop the curtain and turn to find an older gentleman looking at you from across the room, he seems irritated and mildly alarmed, you hurriedly apologize and explain the door was open and rush to ask about the display behind the curtain, he is not impressed with your questions and asks that you leave, realizing your unfortunate situation you acquiesce and ask for the hours you can visit instead, he gives you a time and pointedly tells you the cost of the entrance fee as well, you head back to your friends place, your heart in your throat, this is the closest you've been to figuring out what to do next in almost a week, the itchy paranoia of last worlds government catching you shadowing your every move.

You reach your friends place, they're still out probably picking up dinner, you are still caught off guard at times by how similar this place is to your world, sure their versions of things are a little odd, the tv is circular, doorframes rounded out, other little oddities, it's all so similar though you may as well just be in another country maybe, with a strange accent.

You decide to take this moment to add to your journal and look over your things, while you did a quick inventory check when you first got here you haven't checked the items themselves until now.

Your walkie crackles when you flip it on, same as ever.

Your phone remains serviceless but fills its charge when you turn it on and off. Interestingly you notice it trying to pick up a wifi signal and when you check there seem to be a couple networks nearby, locked though.

The funnel still amplifies the noises around you and you hear the neighbors discussing something on the tv next door as clearly as if they were speaking to you. When you look through the funnel you don't notice anything. You hold it back up to your ear listening to all the different things around you and pull out the spinning top, as soon as the top hits the table the noise disappears, confused you look at the funnel and then listen again, but no noise, the top falls over and the noise returns. Strange.

The berries taste fresh and make you feel better, but you are running low even though you resupplied a bit before leaving.

The dog tags seem unchanged and your key and whistle seem the same as ever.

When your friend gets back you ask about the wifi, they call it something else, but once you parse it out they help you set it up. Your phone can now access their version of the internet so your friend shows you a program to message them just in case. They also give you a device to keep in your pocket that connects you to the wifi wherever you go, so you can contact them while you're out and about. You tell them about the museum you saw earlier, how you think it may be a lead, and the old man running the place. They seem excited for you and make plans to join you tomorrow to go see it.

You go to bed that night thinking of your plans for the morning and turn over the strange dreams or images you remember from when you passed through the door. You slip off into an uneasy sleep, gold threads weave from dream to dream until you stand before an open doorway of light, something about this doorway is wrong though, you can feel it, you reach out to touch, the crackles of energy electrifying the air...someone reaches out and stops you, you can't see their face but you hear them as if through water. You can almost make out the words...you know they're speaking to you, you just can't hear it well enough.

You turn to them, but you still can't see anything but their lips, it looks like their telling you to stop...to go...you can't make it out.

With that last echoing and indecipherable shout you awaken to the dark room, the walkie crackling from where you left it.

"S....l....o...h..." You fumble with it a second but the sounds die out no longer sounding like anything but static again. You don't end up sleeping much after that.

The next day you both head out to go to the museum. You take a minor detour to check the Door, but when you get close you see the alley has been blocked off, you notice some people from the last dimension around, their odd features sticking out to you but hidden away to fit in with the locals.

You cross the street with your friend and try to stay inconspicuous. Probably best stay away from here going forward.

You guys make it to the museum and head inside where the old man from last night mans the desk, your friend pays for the tickets and he hands them to you along with a pamphlet.

You don't bother looking at all the things you saw last night, your friend follows though obviously intrigued by the pictures. You reach the curtained wall and pull back the fabric, but find there's nothing there, dusty spots frames may have hung and empty tables where things had obviously been displayed are all that's left.

In shock you stand confused, your friend catches up and looks behind the curtain curious, you explain it's all gone, they seem befuddled as well. Obviously the content behind the curtain has been moved but it can't be far right? Maybe it's just in the back. Either way, it feels like someone is hiding something from you. You notice a door leading to the back that's for employee's.
