Honestly I'm also not fully happy with what they did with Whis this book
#morningtalks#asc spoilers#Not like they gave Whistlepaw a lot of screentime at all despite how relevant WindClan was all of a sudden#(nooooo that had to go to Crowfeather. Not like he's got enough attention with TNP + PO3 + his super edition + deputyship + TBC#+ Changing Skies now too. Noooooooooooooooooooo we really can't have a single other cat in WindClan be important)#At least Whis had an excuse. Making Additional Content for another book that readers have to buy and be USELESS in that book#But Whistlebreeze?#Out of all the fun names you could've chosen. Whistlebreeze?#At least it's not Whistlepelt or Whistleheart#But really? Whistlebreeze?#I find it boring honestly#It's obviously a me thing. I'm obviously going to take Whis' name more seriously than most because I draw that damned cat Every Single Day#But there were so many possibilities for really poetic and pretty names#But they stuck with the simple option. Whistlebreeze#I obviously wanted Whistlebird#But with Ivypool's Therapy Session you could've made an argument for Whistlestorm#Even if it doesn't sound good at all. The two 't' s really don't make for a good name#But it would've been better than Whistlebreeze as far as I'm concerned#-breeze as a suffix can be cute and I like it but it has little to do with Whis aside from WindClan#Whistlebird neither but it sounds fun and has a rare suffix#Obviously Whistlefrost would've been hilarious#Heck. I just thought about Whistlecreek. Kinda odd but could be a more discrete hommage to Frostdawn as a RiverClan cat#(Frostdawn is a good name tho. Pissed she's back to being a healer but Frostdawn is good at least)#I also love the -berry suffix but with Berryheart just being a nuisance it would've been a very stupid decision here#But I'm just annoyed that they went with Whistlebreeze. It's boring. It's kinda pretty yeah but it adds nothing#It says ''Whis is a WindClan cat.''#Whistle- is a hard prefix to work with. The 't' and 'l' at the end makes it nearly impossible for a good amount of suffixes#Because they wouldn't sound good. (Any occlusive or lateral would've been horrendous. That's why Whistlelight sounds bad. Too many L's)#Whistlebreeze does sound nice at least but again it's bland and I am disappointed and really they could've done so much#With this name. Whistle is a difficult prefix but it offers so much poetic potential

wait are there elmax / elumax shippers on here who really actually think it could happen in reality? not "lol it's canon to me" but actually onscreen other-people-can-see-it-too real shit? poll time:
A) I believe elmax WILL be explicitly endgame / confirmed by the writers B) I believe elumax WILL be explicitly endgame / confirmed by the writers C) I think implied-elmax has a real shot. It'd probably just look like a big focus on El and Max's friendship, and will go down in history that way, but the writers mean for some of us to see the truth D) I think implied-elumax has a real shot. It would probably just look like lumax + El being framed as a trio, and it'll go down in history as just lumax, but the writers mean for some of us to see the truth E) I assume lumax will be endgame, but I really think elmax/elumax would work better for the story. the writers just won't do it because they're cowards. F) elmax / elumax is just for fun in my head, it doesn't work in the canon. I know lumax is endgame. G) I think Lucas Max and El will all end the show single, focused on friendship, with the writers not meaning to hint at any romantic combination. H) very specific scenario I'll explain I) I don't ship this I just want to see how insane you people are

the duffers were cowards for not killing hopper, but I get it because I'm also unable to commit to killing any of the main characters in my planned rewrite

The issue that arises when a game gets super popular is that other developers will try to make games in that style, by taking the basis of the game (ex. Open world, rougelike) without thinking about or realizing what the game does well that makes it popular

Rougelite = permanent upgrades when die. but didn't understand to add enough variety to make us wanna keep#playing. you get 5 options: Chase the boys. portals: tower control: splat zones: 8 ball#on the same few floors. once you've done one you've done them all really#i've 100% it for bragging rights and because i was delusional at the time#Crypt of the necrodancer is my favorite rougelike. why do i love it so much? because every run is different#every floor is randomly generated. now you can't really do that with 3d environments so you gotta make enough#to have variety so players don't get bored right#and when you don't you get side order. sigh.#i'm going to bed now

Some people... really should not be running these poll competitions.
#i don't give a shit about bracket seeding and how good/bad it is#(outside of when joke options are added that are obviously gonna kick ass until they get to the popular characters#because then you have loved but somewhat niche characters not even making it past round one for the sake of a joke#not the end of the world but it bothers me on the competitions not doing redemption rounds)#bracket seeding with a variety of fictional characters you may or may not know is difficult and a lot of people#are just using it as an excuse to get upset that their small-fandom character didn't make it very far#but some of the behaviour of certain mods has shown that they really should not have stepped up to hosting these#obviously these are silly little internet competitions so no one is obligated to do this that or the other#but when you have people shocked that X didn't get in and then publicly state that they got a lot of nominations#but you didn't add them because you 'didn't feel like it/didn’t want to' then... why are you running a competition where a lot of people#would obviously want to see them compete? and not bother putting in the rules that you wouldn't add certain people or some shit?#(if they/their source/etc make you uncomfortable sure but not letting them compete because... you don't want to? really?)#or if you get so worked up by certain jokes common to this website that you have to make multiple posts IN ALL CAPS#and threaten to block anyone making harmless jokes not aimed at anyone specific that are - again - extremely common on here#maybe you shouldn't be running a public competition on a website known for that kind of humour#'it's a silly internet competition this behaviour is unacceptable and you all shouldn't be taking it so seriously'#I'm sorry but YOU are the only one upset here#you are the only one taking those jokes seriously#blocking people for having fun in a way you don't like so they can't participate in a public-facing lighthearted tournament isn't cool#maybe just don't run a public event next time if you can't handle it#it's one thing to start something for fun and get stressed because people are being rude to you or threatening each other#or accusing you of seeding things so that Their Specific Guy would lose early or any manner of having to put up with bullshit#you shouldn't have to just for running what should be a fun event#but if you can't run it honestly/be open about why certain things are how they are/who is and isn't allowed#or if you hand-pick all of the nominees and have a tantrum when people ask about certain characters#or if you can't see people having fun in a certain way without throwing an accusatory screaming public tantrum#literally WHY did you sign up to run one of these competitions in the first place?#you CLEARLY are not having fun and seem averse to the idea of anyone else having fun either#there's nothing wrong with acknowledging you're too high-strung too controlling or too uncomfortable with certain popular characters#to be able to run one of these tournaments. i sure as hell know i couldn't and I'm not stupid enough to run one about animatronics either

Obsessed with the way my most recent homework task was like "create this program in javascript and then document the process on your blog" because like. You know you're not getting an honest depiction of my process, right?
#like if i'd been totally honest about the process of creating that program i would've been like 'okay so i opened my laptop at 10am'#'then i spent almost a solid hour on tumblr.com. at ten to eleven i realised i hadn't eaten anything whatsoever and also that mabel needed#her lunch. so i fed mabel and then myself and got back to it'#'while eating a cheese sandwich i created all my necessary variables and then realised i have no idea how to calculate a percentage#like i know that 15% of 30 is 4.5 but i can't use MY process of getting there for my program because i just divide 30 by 10#and then i divide that in half and then i add those numbers together and then i get 4.5. so i googled how to make a percentage calculator#in javascript and i confidently copy-pasted the first option and it was like 'your total is -50' and i was like 'uhhhh how'#and that was when i realised the difference between calculating a percentage and calculating percent of something#eventually i worked out how to do it but it took me like a solid hour. then i couldn't get .toFixed() to work for thee longest time#i eventually just read an article properly and found the syntax for it and then it worked. then i couldn't work out how to put a £ in there#but i eventually did it. then i added the tip amount into the output as well solely because i saw i'd get extra points for that#and then times new roman started to annoy me so i did some basic styling which required me to google 'how to put your text in the centre#of the page in css' for approximately like the 15th time#and then i tried to reassign my let variables but codepen kept throwing errors and i genuinely could not be bothered to figure out why#because i wasn't sure if it was necessary for the homework or not but i couldn't see it in the instructions so i figured probably not#so at that point i gave up on that line of enquiry; typed up a blog post; screenshotted everything & just submitted it'#like no one needs to know precisely how dumb i am. it's just not required#personal
