It was the knights first. I was young, younger than I like to think about. I hadn’t even known what had happened. Just that something went wrong, and that they were trying to kill me. Those knights I had looked up to, that had protected me, were hunting me down.

It took days to figure out why. There wasn’t anything to be done at that point, just move forward.

He had known since the day you left that he fucked up.

He had done everything perfectly, hadn’t he? Maybe not exactly, but he had definitely tried. He was devoted. Where had he gone wrong?

He spent more time trying to figure that out than actually being sad. If he had done anything bad to you, he wanted to fix it. Even if you didn’t want him back, he could at least make sure his next relationship was successful. That’s all he wanted to know.

Eventually it started to hurt more. By about the one month mark, he was more sad than confused. It didn’t help when you knocked on his door.

“Hey.” you said.

“Uh, hi,” he replied, his expression awkward and overly anxious.

You pushed the cardboard box you were holding into his arms, taking a step away from the door. “I, uh, saw one of your hoodies in my closet and realized I never gave you any of your stuff back.”

Dammit. This was really it, huh? You’re giving him his stuff back. No getting back together, no wedding bells, no honeymoon, no more you. Terrible way to end things off. There was still much he needed to say to you after all of his unnecessary reflecting.

“Right, yeah,” he stared down at the box like it was the only thing keeping him from breaking down completely. “Thank you.”

“Yeah, of course,” you nodded, taking another step back and slowly closing his door.

He opened it back up as quickly as his reaction time would allow him to, catching you off guard completely. “Question?”

“Yeah…?” You raised a brow.

“Did I ever… mistreat you in any way, or…?”

“I wouldn’t be giving you your stuff back if I didn’t still think you were a good guy.”

And somehow that hurt more than you telling him he ruined your life would have.

Bachira:

Bachira missed you the moment you broke up with him.

He understood why it had happened. You two had your differences and you need more space than he was willing to offer. He didn’t need a graph and a data table to realize he should respect your wishes.

Unsurprisingly, respecting your wishes had proven to be the most difficult thing he had ever forced himself to do. He hadn’t text you yet. He hadn’t tried to talk to you at school. Did he get as much information on you as possible from his friends? Of course. But that was just because he still cared.

And as for your posts, he couldn’t help the fact that they showed up on his feed. Sure, maybe he scrolled through every picture and psychoanalyzed its every detail, but he couldn’t help that they were interesting. It wasn’t his fault your photography skills were sheer perfection. Did he look through the other posts he had missed, too? Yeah, but his finger slipped and he landed on your profile. No big deal. And did you look at all of your stories? Yeah, but he can’t see what shows up next.

He just wanted to keep himself updated, that’s all. He just wanted to make sure you were doing better without him than he was without you. He just wanted to feel like you were still a part of his life.

Happy fuckin’ birthday to him.

Couldn’t you have waited two weeks or something? Did he really have to wake up four days before his eighteenth birthday with a text from you saying something as dreadful as that? The most heartfelt, thought out thing he had ever seen you write and it wasn’t even about how much you love him.

Nope. Now he’s just gonna be old and boring without a girlfriend.

His emotions changed a lot every time he thought about it. When he was alone in his room thinking about it and looking back at old photos, he cried and refused to delete them. When he had to go into school and tell everyone about how you two had broken up, he was just angry. Nothing more, nothing less. The complications came from when he could actually sit with his thoughts.

It had been five days and he was still trying to wrap his mind around it. Then six days. And then seven. Still no texts from you, but it wasn’t like he really expected anything different. Was he waiting for it? Of course. But he wouldn’t text you first. Never in a million years will he make himself look as desperate for closure as he really is.

And finally, on the eighth day, he gets a text. Sorry for ruining your birthday. Got you a gift before it all happened. Kunigami’s gonna give it to you tomorrow. Hope you at least had a nice eighteenth aside from that <3.

Yeah, you hadn’t just ruined his birthday, you had ruined his adulthood so far. But, alas, the overly complex emotions his felt when he read that were not something he could channel into writing without offending an entire four generations of humans. So, he sent back a simple, Thank you. It was nice, and moved on with his life.

Well, he didn’t move on, necessarily, but he did block your number.

Nagi:

Nagi never really understood many social concepts. Currently the one he was struggling to figure out was how a breakup was supposed to work. He would text you every day. A good morning text, at least one “I love you” text, a goodnight text, and the occasional “I miss you” text. He wasn’t really good with the person space aspect of it all, apparently.

In his mind, you two were still friends. Friends talked. Friends were honest with each other. So, he was texting you and being honest with you. Did it have to go on for months on end when he never got a single message back? Maybe not. He couldn’t help it, though. He just wanted to get you to answer at least once.

You, on the other hand, wanted him to leave you the hell alone. You had tried blocking him and he somehow bypassed it, so now you settled on silencing your phone and muting his messages. You didn’t have read receipts on for him anyone, hell, you had deleted his contact completely. But he didn’t know that.

Nagi was smart. He’d figure it out eventually that you didn’t want to talk to him anymore. Would he figure it out sooner if you just told him that? Probably. You wouldn’t text him again, though. He’d have to put the context clues together himself.

If you install firefox, it will ask if you want to import your browsing history, bookmarks, saved passwords*, and in a as of october of this year your extensions as well.

*dont use your browsers built in password manager. they're very much not as secure, even firefox's. read about passwords here

You can't import cookies for security reasons, but external tools can do that for you (try to avoid this. if you do have some data you need moved over, usually websites have their own "export data as file" option)

Everything else that you may need to fully complete the switch will come up naturally over time, the initial setup can be half an hour, or if you're happy with how it is at the start, less than 5 minutes.

"They don't support [website]"

Firefox is entirely up to date on current HTML, CSS, and Javascript standards. Theres a bunch of websites that compare all the features that firefox supports compared to chrome and stuff and they're often just, wrong? I've used some MANY of the features that firefox supposedly doesn't support. Plus they're constantly updating it for added support of new and old features. anything they refuse to add is due to security reasons, and nobody uses those features anyway.

In my experience i've never had to switch to chrome to avoid a website breaking. Sometimes it was because of an extension* but thats a very easy fix. Firefox has profiles built in and really good troubleshooting features.

*(stop using privacy badger/possum, please, it's built into firefox now, most of all privacy addons are completely useless because firefox already does it for you!!! ublock is safe tho i love u bbg)

If a site tells you "switch to chrome to see this site as intended" they're lying, and you can use a user agent switcher to trick them into thinking you're on chrome

"i need chrome for work or school"

i'd say 4 times out of 5 you don't, they say you have to use it but in reality it's just that they have better control over what you can do with it.

My high school had a shit ton of extensions automatically installed on chrome, including some shit that was literally spyware, it reported to teachers and staff all of your tabs you have open at any given time, and they could force shutoff tabs and force things open. They had absolutely no control or ability to monitor me when i switched to firefox, and there werent any problems that arose from it.

You can also just use chrome for school/work and use firefox for your personal web browser. separate your work life and personal life, you can do this with two different firefox profiles as well.

"I don't like change"

The only thing that's different about firefox in a day to day usage is the bar at the top, which is entirely customizable. Right click, customize toolbar, and you can mess around with it to make it the same layout as chrome. you can also get rid of those weird empty spaces to the left of the search bar they add by default for some reason. mozilla pls fix. You can further use themes to make it even look even more similar to chrome, I did that with my school profile to differentiate them.

When I switched, there wasn't anything I missed, I didn't have any of the "ugh i dont like how [blank] is in a different spot", or "ugh they dont have [this]". it just worked. It's a web browser, it works and does everything it needs to be. I didn't miss chrome at all, nothing felt different and the adjustment period to the new browser was LESS than what i felt when chrome updated the design in 2018.

"I have no reason to switch"

If you care about privacy at all (which you should), i could list hundreds of reasons why you should switch. Google removed "don't be evil" from their code of conduct for god sake lmao. Every new change they do is a ploy to get as much data from you and feed you as many ads as possible.

The dumping of Manifest V2/dynamic filtering not only makes most adblockers useless, it makes any sort of content blocking worse. Blocking trackers, malware, intrusive and annoying website features, these are things ublock does for you which chrome is doing its best to get you to stop doing. They want you to be exposed to predatory ads and malware so they can get more money.

If you have issues with ram usage and performance issues, firefox includes a lot of (lesser known) features to monitor RAM and CPU usage. While it seems as it may use more RAM, it automatically releases it when more ram is needed by other programs, effectively using less. It also uses much less ram in total in cases where there's 10+ tabs open.

Firefox can automatically block sites from auto-playing videos whenever you go on them

As mentioned firefox has so many more customization features than chrome, allowing you theme and move around everything to your hearts content

While on desktop, Chrome and Firefox are very close in functionality, on mobile, Firefox is working to add full extension support to mobile, it already has a small catalogue of extensions you can use, such as uBlock Origin. It has all of the desktop privacy features as well.

Firefox, only has about 3% of the market share. Other than that, chromium controls over 70% of all browsers, with apple controlling over 20%. The less people use firefox, the more control TWO companies have on the very act of using the internet. The Mozilla Foundation is a fully non-profit organization, with full ownership over the mozilla corporation, they don't have shareholders, and prioritize an open, safe, and private internet. Don't let them die.

you can have multiple browsers at once, install firefox and don't get rid of chrome. try firefox, see if there's anything you don't like, and try to fix it, and whenever you feel the need to, you can go back to the browser you already had.

hello everyone!! i've been working on finishing the prologue of Vanguard and i am SO CLOSE to being done!

i've been having a bunch of medical appointments for the past few days, and just been generally busy since i'm back from uni. but!!! but. the prologue is just about done. i know i said the end of the week (Sunday) to release the prologue and i am still hoping for this! in terms of my other more long-term goals, i most likely will not be able to by Sunday.

here are the things that will be included in the full prologue (next update on Sunday):

as for why Vio and Kiera don't have romance routes right now, it's a mix of 2 things: 1 that coding wise, it's more complicated to pull off with the time i have available to me, and 2 i originally intended the relationship between the MC and the two to be strictly platonic. romance routes for them would be more complicated for me to pull off with the limited knowledge i possess because they would have gender-locked routes. and this takes more time to code for.

i mentioned this in a reply on the game itself, but Vio is gay, and Kiera is a lesbian! unlike the rest of the cast, which are all bisexual/queer in some way. the MC can romance the rest of the characters, regardless of their own gender.

as for the platonic part of it, well, i'm not sure. i'm open to them having romance routes, but i also believe that platonic routes can be just as fulfilling. realistically, however, they will most likely stay as non-romanceable.

Hey, it’s been awhile since I last did this, but I decided to go for as returning to Tumblr felt like a bit of a small nostalgia trip for me, so why not get back to one of my favourite MHA fan writers for old times sake and beside, a lot has changed since last time so why not….

Well anyways, as for the idea I’m going with, I am thinking of going with a remake version of my first Match-Up of an My Hero Academia and Genshin Impact Match-Up, if that is cool with you?

Things That Remained The Same: Of course, my name is still Mason, my zodiac sign is still a Taurus, as well as I still consider myself as He/Him and Straight, along with me having dark brown hair and brown eyes. I also still consider myself as a full blown nerd towards the things I am interested in, although now I am a mix of being a Marvel and DC fan as of currently, I’m still a fan of My Hero Academia though I left the fan base altogether because “MHA Fanbase being MHA Fanbase,” currently I’m looking for different shows that could peak my interest (Such as Zom 100 and maybe RWBY, although that’s because of one RWBY character I like and ticked that the writers killed her off kinda got me into the whole “I like this character, now I’m obsessed,” that being Penny Polendina.) I still do Graphics Designing although I mostly post on Deviantart rather than Tumblr lately, I still have trust and communication with my autism although thankfully it isn’t as bad now of days, as I am a bit more confident with my social skills but mostly towards the people I considered as friends. As of currently, those are all the things I would say that mostly remained the same, as while I get curious with different series and all that, the basic tropes I have such as being a Nerd who loves to do Graphics Designing remained the same. (Oh, and I’m also still doing the best person I can be, though now there are times when I questioned about the goal, but I still follow it as I believed it’s the right thing to do.)

Things That Changed: Alright, now we are getting to the nitty gritty on the things I considered to be pretty changed, I retook the MBTI Personality quiz and I ended up getting a mix of ISFP and ESFP due to the “E” and “I” being 50/50, and while I consider myself more as a ESFP lately, it could depend on my mood depending on the day. I unfortunately shrink down to being a 6’2, I’m planning on trying to get back to doing Voice Acting though I am planning on getting my main PC fixed before I pick up the prices for the plan, while I’m using my laptop to do the graphics designing while I’m waiting til I get the computer fixed up, as well as taking a similar path to trying to get back to writing. I’ve also been watching a lot of Instagram Reels just for laughs, as well as opening a new Instagram account for my graphics designing uploads, as well as moving to a new Photo Editing engine with more features that helped improve on the way I work on my Profiles and Thumbnails. I am also currently doing a bit more hard work to lose some weight, as someone I know personally ended up getting health issues and I didn’t wanna become like him, so I’m trying to be more active and trying to eat a bit more healthy, though it’s hard since I’m someone who likes food in general. And lastly, I am actually planning on growing out my hair to bring out more style to it, with a hairstyle similar to Diluc’s ponytail from Genshin Impact being my go to style if I reach to my satisfied length and width.

Overall, I think that is all the info I have for this one, this might be my biggest info dump I have ever given, as there are some that remained the same along with new things added and somethings changing in my life. Walking into the office, coffees in to-go cups and I.D card in hand, you find your fellow interns and your boss staring at you suspiciously. Cautiously, you place their coffees on the empty table and take your seat. Soon you’d know why everyone in the office continued to eye you while your boss started giving the brief for today.

“Before we start today’s brief I have some urgent news. As we all know Enhypen is having their comeback photoshoot today. Well, after days of curating their wardrobes one of the set designers has decided that Heeseung’s pants, along with all of our backups, no longer fit the concept,”.

You sighed at this piece of news, pitying the poor intern who would have to scourge the crowded outfit closets or run through every botique in the neighborhood to find him some pants. You shook your head and took a ceremonial sip of your coffee in remembrance of that poor intern until you realized that you, were in fact, that intern. You silently cursed the day you applied for the internship and chose the ‘Fashion and Styling’ position, but stood up anyway.

“Just tell me what I’m looking for and I’ll find it!” You replied energetically. Behind you your coworkers snicker out of sympathy. They know you’re anything but excited to dig through piles of clothes and run them across the gigantic building but that’s what you signed up for.

“Now that’s the spirit! They’re looking for a pair of black Levi’s,” your boss responded.

As soon as you get your orders you head to the elevator and unlock your phone. Thankfully for you, Hybe has an app that connects you with all of the staff members and allows you to read all of their updates. You head to the ‘Fashion and Styling staff’ page, click the search tab, and type ‘Black Levi’s’. The most recent update from one of the guys who organizes the closets says that he placed all of the jeans in the first closet on the eighth floor. Speed walking towards the elevator you stop at the crowded elevator and your shoulders drop so low that your crossbody bag slips.

Crowding around the open elevator were a herd of trainees filming what you assumed to be a dance video. Why in an elevator?! You question internally and run the opposite direction towards the stairs. Running up the countless steps you finally make it to the eighth floor, short of breath and time. Quickly opening the first closet door, you smile slightly at the extremely organized closet (you would have to buy this closet organizer a gift card or something). Opening your phone once more to a different app, you find out Heeseung’s size in jeans and then begin your hunt for the black Levi’s. After carefully rummaging through hangers and drawers the black pair of jeans appear and you release the breath that you’ve been holding.

As you run down the steps, you decide to update your profile and let everyone know where the black Levi’s are. Updating profiles was the only way the large company stayed organized so you thought it very important to update your profile as soon as possible. Mere seconds after pressing ‘post’, your phone leaves your hands, but soon your body follows suit as your feet crisscrossed and you, your phone, and the jeans that brought you to this cruel fate we’re headed face first towards the third floor clearing.

You shut your eyes so as not to watch yourself fall onto the concrete floor, taking a few moments to realize that you had stopped falling for a while but still hadn’t slammed to the floor. Come to think of it, your phone hadn’t made the soul crushing crack sound that you heard way too often. You open your eyes to find yourself in the right arm of a tall stranger; your phone, safe and sound in their other hand.

Disoriented, you grab your phone from their hand and try to continue your task but you start wobbling almost immediately after your first step. The kind stranger grabs your hand again to make sure you don’t fall… again. Taking a deep breath you gain your balance and turn to thank the stranger and find that cursed pair of jeans; only when you open your mouth to say thank you, a comically large gasp escapes your mouth. Why am I staring at LEE HEESEUNG right now?! You start to think that maybe you did fall and now your subconscious was playing tricks on you, but the grip that he had on your wrist felt real and so did the crumpled pair of black pants he was holding.

“Are you alright? I was just walking when I saw a bunch of stuff falling from the stairs, and then I saw you trip so I tried to grab you. Are you alright?” He repeats as you stare at him in silence. He was wearing a peach pink sweater vest and a fake nose ring with a pair of ‘Winne the Pooh’ pajama pants and some slippers. Suddenly you find the words to speak a sentence.

“Those pants are actually for you, haha!” You laughed awkwardly. Heeseung looked down at his arms and laughed sincerely, the corners of his eyes squinting up in a way that relaxed you.

“Oh, okay then thank you! I’ve been in my pajama pants so long, haha,” he replied kindly. You smiled at his good nature surrounding the situation and thought you should pay him a compliment

“Well… at least they’re a really pretty pair of pajamas. Thank you for saving my life just now. I would have hated to lose such a cool internship to some broken bones,” you say with sincerity.

“Hey, no need to thank me! I would want someone to do the same for me. I have to get back now, but I hope we get to see each other again before your internship ends. …oh, and you can use the elevator now, the trainees are done filming their Tik Tok,” he added. You give a nod of understanding and wave him and those nightmare pants goodbye.

Making your way to the empty elevator, you meet your coworker who smirks at your disheveled appearance. “How did the clothing scavenger hunt go?”

Running to catch up to them in the open elevator you shrug and start fixing your hair.

“Eh, it wasn’t that bad”.

All Nanadoongies gathered on Twitter to complain about the absence of Jaemin especially since he was the only one who hadnt reposted Chenle’s beloved pup Daegal.

You sighed and switched back to the LYSN app and noticed you were able to send one more message to Jaemin before the app blocks you off until he sends a new message.

JAEMIN: y/n did you eat today ? I’ve missed you!

Your eyes widened at the immediate message you received from your ult. Was is coincidental ? Ofcourse it was, they don’t get notifications from fan messages do they ?

You immediately switched over to Twitter already seeing the bubble update account sharing Jaemins new message along with the entire timeline screaming over his activity.

Was it a delayed message ? You shook your head and decided it was probably just another glitch on the app.

Y/n: yes stop ghosting us !

JAEMIN: ghosting ? ㅋㅋㅋ so dramatic

You froze. There was absolutely no way that from the tons of messages he would be recieving right now that yours would be the one he read and responded to.

The interaction made your heart race and quickly switch over to Twitter, it was probably chaos right now wondering what Jaemins messages could mean.

Silence.

Everyone on the timeline moved on from Jaemins first message and there were no updates on the messages you had just received from him.

PING!

JAEMIN: y/n ~ are you not going to answer me ? How am I ghosting you :(

This could not be real. You felt a lump in your throat as you checked over your other bubble subscriptions which all seemed fine except for his. You had no idea how to feel or what to do.

Y/N: this is weird. Send me a selfie so I know you’re actually replying to me and not a bot -_-

About 15 minutes went by and you stared at the open chat. He had read your message but there was no reply.

“Humh it was a bot after all” you huffed, about to close the app when your phone pinged and you saw Jaemins name pop up.

A voice note.

“Hey y/n, I hope I’m saying your name correctly hehe So long story short I think the chat glitched and your name and profile pic added itself to my own bubble. Weird right ? Mark Hyung told me I should send a voice note because it will make you believe me a bit more and .....well we would know if you posted on Twitter which CANNOT happen hahaha you understand right ?”

What was happening right now.

You pinched yourself to make sure you didn’t accidentally fall asleep on the couch and start having a very eerie realistic dream.

JAEMIN: I know you’re shocked rn but I really enjoy reading your replies haha it was the best part of my day and well I couldn’t help myself today. I wanted to tease you lol

Y/N: wait so how long has this “glitch” happened for ?

JAEMIN: hmmm....about a month now I think...after you renewed your account I think hehe

Y/N: what ??? Omg I’m so embarrassed......

You exhaled deeply and scrolled through some of the messages you have sent him during this month and thankfully none of them were cringeworthy.

Y/N: so...now what? Should I speak to app support and fix this....unsubscribe or something....

You felt your cheeks heat up at the image of Na Jaemin and Mark Lee laughing at your messages.

By now you were already pacing across your entire apartment trying to come to terms with what was going on in your life right now. It became a force of habit to constantly check Twitter and make sure by chance somebody mentioned a glitch of some sort or SM announcing that the app is under construction or SOMETHING.

‘This couldn’t be real’ you thought.

Nana00: lol you’re so funny so are you free to video call ?

Y/n: Uhm......are you sure that’s a good idea ?

Nana00: yeah I mean firstly I would like to know you’re real too lol and also I want to know if I can trust you with this information.....it’ll be quick I promise

After scrambling to your bathroom to make yourself a little presentable as if you just won a video call event for your ult, you finally set on a laidback look so it doesn’t look too obvious that you put a little effort in.

You decided to prop your phone on the mini tripod on your desk so the lighting from your bedroom window in front of you bounced off your skin perfectly.

Y/n: okay I’m ready. I’m a little shy so.....sorry if I can’t talk much...

Nana00: you don’t sound shy when you talk about me on bubble hehe ;)

You buried your face in your hands and groaned. The embarrassment was still eating at you and Jaemin was not letting you live those messages down.

Ring Ring Ring......

You saw your phone light up and Jaemins kakao profile picture fill your screen.

With a shaky finger you press the recieve button and watch as the pixelated video start to clear up, presenting a very smiley Na Jaemin.

“Hi there” he said in his high voice and a bright smile on his face. He seemed to be sitting at his desk as well, hair still wet from either a rainy day or a shower.

“Uhm hi” you replied shyly and waved awkwardly.

“So this is the face behind the bubble profile huh”

“I guess so” you replied. It seemed as though you were calm and collected but on the inside you were screaming. Screaming that you were conversing with one of your favourite people right now.

“Good! Sorry to ask this again but did you clear the chat on bubble ? We have to be careful with that” he said in a concerned voice.

“Yeah I did after you sent the pic I finally realized it was definitely you so I went ahead and did it” you quickly said, kinda embarrassed by how fast your words came out.

Jaemin chuckled.

“You still doubted me after the voice note?”

“Just a little”

“You’re so adorable it’s ridiculous you know that ?” He gleamed and neared the screen, his deep brown eyes focusing on yours “ where are you from y/n?”

“Well I live in a lot of places but my hometown is _______. I learnt most of my korean while studying here in Osaka weird enough” you shrugged.

You moved to Japan for your first year of university since it was where you sort of grew up as a kid and took up extra korean classes once settled in the city.

“Osaka ?? Wow I love Japan I can’t wait to go back! Well now I kinda have an excuse to go” he winked sending your heart into a frenzy.

You giggled shyly “is this the fan service everybody talks about ?

“Fan service is a job....this is different I’m sure you know that y/n haha”

“All of this because of my profile picture ?”

“Well” Jaemin bit down on his lip as his eyebrows turned into a frown

“I obviously saw your pic and thought you were very cute but a big part of it was your messages and how you would always message me when I most needed it.”

“My messages are very random” you chuckled.

“Still made me smile throughout my day and that means a lot” he said and ran his fingers through his hair “so it’s kinda selfish of me to say, but id like for you to update me...personally”

“Na Jaemin are you asking me to be your own personal bubble account ?” You raised your eyebrow.

“Yeah pretty much” he shrugged “I’ll repay the subscription when I see you Osaka.”

Okay I really need to rant about Supergirl doing Winn dirty AGAIN

This is going to get long so let me get my main point in here for those who don’t want to read the whole thing. I’ve barely gotten anywhere and it’s already so long

J’onn says “Oh boy, I sure hope the new DEO is one of peace” to Winn

Right here, should have been a line along the lines of, “You know I could really use your help to make it so.”

Bam, Winn comes back, and even if the show ends, at least he’s back with his family (his “wife” and “daughter” aren’t real, I’ll complain about them below)

Winn was just supposed to be in the future temporarily, to fix whatever was making Brainacs ill and then come home. Outside the universe we know it was because Jeremy left the show (presumably because they kept treating him character like crap) but let’s focus in show (though to be fair, Jeremy does want to go back into TV work, as per a Broadway Profiles interview, so I don’t see why he wouldn’t have come back if they even gave him half the attention they gave Brainy) (Seriously, I have to work so hard not to begrudge Brainy as a character not just because he replaced Winn, who I love with my entire heart, but they immediately gave him so much more on the show than this very important character there since season 1. It’s not his fault, self, don’t take it out on him)

First with that, they never mention the disease again. No update for his Winn’s s5 episodes, no mention when Brainy announces he has to go back. No one said, “Hey, what about that thing that will kill you in the future” That’s the whole reason Winn is gone and, ugh

Also, on Brainy, I get it’s sweet how he gives up logic for his love for Nia, but is there really no answer on how they solve the Big Brain problem without him? Is he just letting the future die? And I get every time travel media has to include “the future is unwritten (hello Back to the Future 3) but that’s where his friends are, like the Legion, like Nura Nal. Brainy, if you get with Nia she’s not going to exist. don’t you care about her?) Again, maybe I’d be more invested and happy for Brainy if I wasn’t struggling with anger at how differently his and Winn’s characters are treated. It’s not your fault Brainy, I’m trying. 

Here I should note that there’s nothing wrong with Brainy and Winn both being around. It’s not one or the other, but Winn should be back and the in universe logic is confusing me, but if they can explain it, okay.

So Winn’s in the future and whatshisname says that Jeremy is leaving but in a way that leaves it open for his return, forever giving me hope. Season four passes, no Winn, I sad. Season five, some Winn, but it makes me mad? Because they basically are preventing him from coming back? Why the hell did you give me hope towards the end of season 3?

Let’s bring back his wife and kids. There’s no reason for them except to tie him to the future, preventing him from coming back, which you said you wouldn’t do!!! I vote they just stop existing, you know, like Lyra. Remember her? because the Supergirl creators sure don’t! If she can disappear without a trace and that mystery future illness keeping Brainy away, than so can these characters we never met, or even hear about this time. There we go, nothing preventing him from coming back. Screw you, whosever idea that was.

Except, his friend just let the world think he snapped and became a serial killer like his Dad? No one corrected the media? They couldn’t come with even a flimsy excuse like, “I know Winn, he’s currently at an assignment in wherever. I just facetimed him. I don’t know what’s happening but this literally isn’t him.” Or when it was over make a news report saying further examination after Toyman’s death revealed it was a shapeshifting alien impersonating one Winn Schott Jr. The location and status of the real Mr. Schott remains unknown for now. Also, you can’t tell me William didn’t recognize Winn with and without glasses. Kara at least changes her hair and demeanor a bit.

Luckily I can solve this, too. Kara and Supergirl are now one. She can air all the doppelganger details and clear Winn’s name. I mean, it wasn’t a common thing but it did happen to other people who can attest (Alice/Beth Kane for one, but Al is right there in National city, and I’m assuming he has an upstanding reputation) There we go. Winn can come back now. SO LET HIM

I don’t want Supergirl to end but if that’s their plan there would have been no harm to let Winn come home.

A few other Winn grievances that I was painfully reminded of. We didn’t get enough of his friendship with Cat Grant, and this is a terrible thing. Oh, Winn and Cat friendship, we had so little of you, but you gave us so much. Also, we could have had more of it with Cat coming back! He could have been at the DEO and helped at Cat occasionally. We were robbed.

Also robbed of Winn and J’onn moments (there’s never enough) and J’onn basically adopting Winn. Do you know how much it hurt when the courage totem got rid of J’onn’s walls and he was complimenting everyone, but Winn wasn’t there to have nice things said to him? IMAGINE! I’m crying

We were also robbed of seeing a Winn and Lena friendship. Please note friendship diehard supercourps! I would never take them away from you! (This is of course besides the point that Supercourp just makes sense and I tend to see characters I latch onto as at least asexual, if not aroace. I never did really get into and of Winn’s romances.....) But Winn and Lena both love science and love Kara and are such cool people! The behind the scenes of Katie and Jeremy alsong with them walking together at the wedding leave me yearning for more. Why Supergirl, why would you take that from me. 

(If anyone has or wants to write any fanfics about Winn and Cat friendship, Winn and Lena friendship, AU of season 4 onwards with Winn still there, really anything Winn-centric, or anything with Winn at all. Please tell me. Or feel free to write some. Haha, jk...... unless)

While I’m here, let me add a few finale details I also didn’t like.

It was nice that everyone return for the big final battle with Lex and Nyxly, but it ended super suddenly and they didn’t do much? It was really that one shot of them all walking in a line from the previews. Also, I know Winn was kissing his Legion ring with his powers, but that was really cringe, I’m not going to lie. On a lesser note, Jimmy’s mustache was weird. Also, do you think he’s ever going to join the Superman and Lois cast? He is Superman’s best Pal

Moreso, I kind of spent all of 6B hoping for Nyxly’s redemption? Like, she shouldn’t destroy the whole word or take over the universe, but she was traumatized by the Phantom Zone and now she’s just thrown back there? It’s pretty harsh. I wish she realized she was going too far (there was an opening with Esme or when Lex opened the portal to the Phantom Zone). Like, she has a very good reason to be mad and for wanting revenge, it was just hurting everyone else in the process that was the problem. Also, I know Winn mentions Myxly but how did he get free? At least they mentioned him, but that was left open. And Lex and Nyxly turning into lizard people was weird.

Supercourp also should have happened, it just made sense, but I’m going to be honest with you hard core shippers, I don’t understand you? You were valiantly fighting for them to become canon before or for the finale, but you wouldn’t have had any time with them as a couple? I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want the show to continue to watch them grow as partners and actually have time with them? Also, you were all happy for the cut scene with the kiss, but I saw that as a slap to the face. They made what you all were begging for before taking it out, ripping it apart, and spitting on it, laughing at how they made what the fans wanted but would do nothing with it, or even show it. (They being the creators, not Katie and Melisssa)

But what’s worse (for me. well not worse but very hurtful) is that they’re bringing back (or could) all that I missed, but then end it. I’ve missed Cat at CatCo, I missed J’onn, Alex, and Winn working at the DEO to help others (or alone. Imagine Winn working with J’onn at his PI business. 

And along with not getting time with a Supercourp relationship, we don’t get to see more Esme (which is just cruel, CW hates child actors and wants to put them out of work) or Kelly and Alex as wives (even though I’ve spend all this time hoping Maggie would come back and they’d make up. Sanvers burned so short but so brightly) Plus we have this whole new step in Kara’s life, I want to see her navigate that in season 7 and onward. This is unfair.

(Plus Kate and Kara were supposed to take Oliver’s and Barry’s dynamic leading the Arrowverse post Crisis acording to Marc Guggenheim in the Crisis Aftermath Part 2, so I repeat, what the hell? Why do you keep lying to me? And if you’re going to say that doesn’t count because Ruby left/was fired, they spent all of season 2 of Batwoman explaining her alive and with a new face. I also saw a report saying Kate and Ryan were going to co-Batwoman Gotham, so having Kate doesn’t, and shouldn’t, mean getting rid of Ryan. But also she’s not in season 3 that I know of? Which is confusing, but I have no room on my DVR so I’m behind on almost every Arrowverse show this season. Sorry, CW and DC, please add +1 views for each show for me. Or more. I like these shows)

In conclusion, Winn deserves better and Supergirl as a show deserves better. CBS come and take the show back, please, season one was the best anyways, and actually treated Winn like an important character

(End note: I don’t want Supergirl to end. I don’t think it should. Articles site COVID and rating, but COVID did end any other Arrowverse show and the show was trending every week. They’re cop-out excuses because they can finally have their Superman show and they don’t need her anymore, and that’s not okay. Please help me bug CW and DC Comics with #SaveSupergirl on Twitter. [Also #BringBackRayPalmer but that’s for Legends] [Might as well also add #SaveBlackLightning (also a suspect cancelation) and #SaveArrowandtheCanaries] I am desperate. And I’m like the only person using them and that’s depressing and also makes me feel useless. I also worry this means the end of the Arrowverse and I am worried. I don’t want edgy HBO Max shows (or just them) I want happy fun time Arrowverse that kept me interested in DC when MCU dominated the movies)

Sophie drives them back to the NYPD command center as quickly as she can after hearing about the explosion; they spend the entire ride discussing theory and trying as hard as possible not to think of what they could be looking at when all is said and done.

“Dave,” Sophie says when they spot him, and he opens his arms to her for a hug. She’s a little surprised, but she takes it, won’t deny the comfort. “We heard about the explosion on the radio.”

“I’ve been trying to reach the others,” Reid adds, and Rossi shakes his head.

“Me too. The cell system is crashing.” Sophie’s eyes are fixed on the tv, but there’s not much information being given.

“It’s a car bomb, did they say where?”

“No, not yet.” He looks to Reid. “Can you recall every site where the shootings occurred?”

“Uh, Hell's Kitchen, Murray Hill, Lower East Side, Chinatown.”

“All right, if our profile is correct and all 8 murders were tests to gauge response times, we're looking at 8 suicide bombers who are about to hit every one of those locations.” He turns to Sophie, who is hovering over a desk phone, trying to reach Aaron, Derek, Penelope, anyone. “Call Homeland Security. Tell them to pour troops into all of those sites.”

“Actually, if we're correct, there'll be 16 suicide bombers,” Reid reminds him. Sophie looks up, between the two of them, from where she’s dialing.

“Sixteen?” Rossi asks.

“Yeah, we predicted that they'll hit the second wave of emergency responders also.” The three of them share a look, and it’s not a good one.

The breaking news banner flashes across the tv screen, catching their attention. “We are just getting an update. The bomb is now reported to have been inside an SUV—a black SUV parked just blocks from 26 Federal Plaza.”

Sophie’s stomach drops, and she dials Homeland Security, fills them in as quickly as possible, before dialing Aaron again.

It goes straight to voicemail. She tries Derek, JJ, Emily, Penelope, and they all go straight to voicemail.

“This is so fucking stupid,” she mutters, frantic, dialing. “Why do we have seven different cars in New York fucking City of all places? It makes no sense.”

“I got Garcia!” Rossi shouts, covering the mouthpiece, and she breathes a tiny bit easier. Half of them are accounted for, they just need to reach the other four. It shouldn’t be too hard.

It shouldn’t be this hard.

Gentle hands cover hers, and Reid says her name, soft. He’s shushing her. She must still be muttering.

“Everything will be okay. We’ll hear from them.” She looks up, and he looks worried, too. That makes her feel better; she pulls him in for a hug.

“I am so glad we were together. If I couldn’t get a hold of you right now, I’d be losing my shit.” He squeezes her, and then steps back.

“This is you not losing your shit?” he teases with an attempt at a smile, and she punches him in the arm. He winces.

At least some things remain constant.

“I spoke to Garcia again,” Rossi says as he walks over to them. His face is grim, and her heart is beating so fast she’s surprised it doesn’t bust out of her chest and take flight. “She got a hold of Derek and Emily. Derek is headed to the scene, Emily’s headed to an NYPD critical incident command post with the detective.”

“No Aaron or JJ?” she asks, wondering what he’s not saying. He doesn’t shake his head no, and she knows what that means. “Dave, please.”

“Garcia found footage of the blast. It was Hotch and Joyner, but they weren’t in the car. They were just walking up to it. We don’t know where they are now, or their condition.”

Sophie feels her eyes water. Her mind is blank. Her worst nightmare is coming true, it’s Aaron, he’s… Reid reaches for her hand again, and she takes a deep breath in through her nose, out through her nose. Then again. She blinks her vision clear.

She knows, now. That’s better. Better than wondering, dialing, waiting to hear. She knows, now. And she knows what to do. She clears her throat.

“We should look at the crime scene photos again. Anything we can do to provide insight to Homeland Security will be a huge help.” She walks quickly toward the board, doesn’t see the look that Reid and Rossi exchange. “We can follow up with them shortly, see if they’ve found anything unusual.”

“Sophie,” Reid says calmly, walking toward her like he’s approaching a startled horse; she looks up at him, shakes her head.

“No, nope. Until we know more, I have to do something. I’m not going to sit here on my hands and wait to find out that he’s dead.” She pulls the hair tie off of her wrist and scrapes her hair back into a ponytail, stands in front of the board. The two of them study it, commenting now and again, while Rossi tries JJ; Emily arrives within a few minutes, with the detective, and then JJ does too. Everyone is filling each other in when Garcia’s voice rings out through the laptop.

“The bomber! The bomber!” They crowd around the screen, and it helps relax Sophie to see her, even if it’s only virtual; six down, two to go.

“What is it, Garcia?”

“Derek's chasing after him.” She looks like she wants to hyperventilate. “The bomb was under Kate’s SUV. Hotch is out there with her. He seems okay, but she looks really hurt. He hasn't moved her.” Sophie could throw up, she’s so relieved, and then she wants to throw up for feeling relieved when Joyner is still seriously injured.

“Where was Kate's SUV parked?” Rossi asks.

“Two blocks east of Federal Plaza.”

“Two blocks east and they target Kate's SUV? Why?” Prentiss asks. It’s a solid question that none of them have an answer for, yet.

“Have you ID'd the bomber?”

“Lisa's running him and the dead guy through VICAP.”

“I’ll call Homeland Security, see if they found anything,” Sophie offers, and she gets on the line. Homeland Security turns out to be a bust; they’re of the mind that the bombing was a failed attack on the federal building and won’t listen to a word she says. She’s ready to throw the phone out the goddamn window when JJ walks up with a promising look on her face.

“Hotch and Kate made it to Saint Barclay's hospital.” Sophie hangs on up the douchebag from Homeland, stands.

“How are they?”

“Well, Hotch is in the ER, Kate's in surgery. Morgan's on his way down there now.” She shoots her a soft, reassuring smile, and Sophie grabs her jacket, pats her pocket for the keys to the SUV.

“I gotta go. I gotta go there.” She frowns, thinking, presses her hand to her forehead. “He’ll need clothes; I’m going back to the hotel to grab his bag, and then I’m headed there. Can you tell Morgan?”

“Yeah, I’ll tell him,” JJ murmurs, and she hurries past, runs through the building and out to the car. She’s in and out of the hotel in a matter of minutes, flashing her badge at anyone who looks at her sideways, and back on the street, pulling up directions to the hospital on her phone.

She doesn’t turn on her lights, because it’s not an emergency, but she makes it in record time anyway, since so much of the city is locked down.

She gets past the Secret Service bypass with only a few curse words, runs into the hospital, straight to the ER, and is looking around frantically for someone who can direct her to Aaron, when she hears him call her name—it’s like music to her fucking ears, when there was a time she thought she’d never hear it again. She turns, sees him in his hospital gown, looking so beat up and tired, and she wants to jump into his arms, but she’s not sure the extent of his injuries; instead, she walks to him, cautiously looking him over. He’s clearly not as worried, pulls her close as soon as she’s within reach and kisses her so thoroughly she almost goes weak in the knees.

“Oh, baby I thought I lost you,” she breathes against his lips, running her hands over his face, carefully avoiding the cuts and scrapes, and he closes his eyes, presses their foreheads together. “Are you alright?”

“Not too bad,” he rasps, pulling back to look at her face. His eyes roam over her features. “Something called acute acoustic trauma?” She frowns, moves her hands to hover over both of his ears.

“Damage to your eardrum, temporary hearing loss.” She speaks a little louder, now that she knows. “Which side?” He takes her left hand in his, pulling it down, presses her right hand gently against his ear. “It will heal, eventually. Loud noises might bother it for a while. Flying. We’ll figure it out.” She stretches up on her toes for another kiss, sighs into it. He’s solid, warm, alive. She’ll never take it for granted again. “Here, I brought your clothes. We can talk while you get changed—you are being discharged, right? I’m not busting you out of here against your doctor’s wishes.”

“Morgan’s talking to him now, but he said I could leave. I called in the team to meet us here.” He guides her to his triage room, and she pulls the curtain closed, lays an outfit out on the bed. She helps him untie his gown, looks up at his poor ear, still bleeding, and then groans softly. She’s an idiot. He turns to her, confused. “What is it?”

“It’s so stupid, in the grand scheme of things but…” She pokes him gently in the neck. “I would cover you in hickies the night before you have to go to the ER after a horrible trauma. I’m so sorry.” He chuckles tiredly.

“It’s okay. You obviously couldn’t have known; plus, I think it got me a lot of respect from one of the male nurses.” She laughs, helps him button his shirt. “Morgan saw, though, so I’d expect some good-natured ribbing when this is all over.”

“I’ll welcome it, if it means we all make it home in one piece.” He finishes getting dressed, and she sighs. “I haven’t heard anything more about Joyner—Kate. Hopefully he has an update.” His eyes are so sad when she mentions her that it breaks her heart. She can’t imagine what he went through, trying to get her help, how she’d feel if she were in the same situation.

“She was in really bad shape,” he admits. “Spinal injury, she lost a lot of blood. I’m not sure she’ll make it.” She rests her hands on his arms, pulls them around her for a sweet, comforting embrace.

“She is a very strong woman, Aaron. If anyone has a fighting chance, it’s her.” He rests his cheek against the top of her head, nods.

“Yeah, you’re right.” He squeezes her tighter, breathes in the scent of her shampoo. “I was so busy trying to help her that I didn’t have a chance to worry about you—is it selfish that I’m glad I didn’t?”

“Not selfish. Waiting to hear was the worst part.” She touches his face again, softly. “I don’t know what I would have done if you didn’t make it…”

“I made it,” he reassures, leaning down for a gentle press of lips. “Now we just need to figure out why.” The team gathers at the hospital, vests on, trying to figure out next steps; when they learn of the Secret Service bypass on the hospital, all the little details seem to click into place, but knowing that they can’t evacuate the target throws a wrench in things.

“If we can’t evacuate, we need to find a way to get that ambulance out of here,” Morgan says, and she can see the wheels turning in his head. She looks to Aaron.

“I know you won’t listen, but you should stay up here. You got blown up like three hours ago, you’re still bleeding,” she says, reaching over the desk to grab him more tissues, “and if someone fires a shot near you, you’re going to be in intolerable pain.”

“I can’t, you know I can’t,” he says, softly, looking deeply into her eyes as if willing her to understand. She nods, exhales long.

“Yeah I know. I just had to go on record stating all the reasons you shouldn’t, so I can say I told you so later.” She squeezes his arm, turns back to Morgan. “Okay, what’s your plan?”

“You guys go after the EMT and try to stop him; I’m gonna drive that thing somewhere safe in case you can’t. Garcia can help me find a place nearby.”

“I’ll come cover you until you’re in the ambulance,” she says, and when he looks like he wants to argue, she just holds his gaze. “Trust me, Derek.” He sighs.

“Yeah, okay. Let’s go.”

They make it down to the parking garage without seeing anything out of the ordinary, but when Morgan is trying to explain the situation to Garcia, Sophie hears gunshots, whips around to the set of doors they’re coming from.

“You good?” she asks over her shoulder, and he nods, once.

“I’m good, go. I’ve got Garcia.” Sophie takes the four steps over to him, grabs him by the front of his vest.

“Get back to us in one piece, Derek. If you don’t, I can’t promise I won’t help her hold a séance so she can yell at you for dying.” He huffs a laugh, as exhausted, stressed as he is, covers her hand with his.

“I’ll be fine. Now go.” She goes, heads back through the double doors, staying close to the wall and keeping her ears open for more gunshots, or movement. She can hear an elevator that’s struggling to close, and when she approaches, she sees the dead Secret Service agents, figures that explains the gunshots.

“We’ve got bodies in the elevator, basement level,” she whispers into her comms. “Secret Service. Morgan’s got the ambulance, I’m in pursuit of the suspect.” There are bloody footprints leading away from the scene, so she doubles back to the garage just in time to see Morgan driving away in the ambulance, the EMT firing shots at him.

“FBI! Drop your weapon!” The man turns, shoots twice and runs, and she fires a shot of her own, but he’s too quick and it only grazes him, doesn’t slow him down.

The cell service will be back up any minute, she knows it, has to think fast. She chases him across the parking lot, exchanging a couple of shots and finally ducking behind a parked car for cover. She leans up for a better vantage point, sees his thumb hovering over the button, can’t find another option—she shoots him, point blank in the chest. He goes down.

She runs toward him just as the rest of the team makes their way out of the basement, but she crouches down, doesn’t look up, can only focus on the cell phone that fell out of his hand.

Call connected.

She sighs, checks his pulse even though it’s clear the man is dead, and finally turns to the others, shakes her head.

“He made the call. I couldn’t stop him.” She takes the phone, the gun, looks up and hopes to hell they don’t think she’s a failure for it.

“You were here and we weren’t. You did the best you could.” That’s Emily, always the first to give reassurance, but it doesn’t make her feel any better. Still, she smiles, grateful for the attempt. “Garcia, any word from Morgan?”

It takes almost a full, long, painful minute for her to reply: “He’s good. He made it. No casualties.” The team breathes a collective sigh of relief. They are back at the hotel after hours of coordinating with Homeland, NYPD, and Aaron is dead on his feet, understandably, and upset about Kate’s passing, also understandably. Sophie suggests a shower, but he says all he wants is to lay down with her, so that’s what they do.

They take off their guns, their phones, and Sophie guides him to the bed, pulls off his shoes, kneels down to untie her boots. He lays back with a sigh, closes his eyes, swallows hard, and she scoots up the bed, wraps her arms around him, curls against his side.

“A means to an end,” he says after several quiet minutes of her simply carding fingers through his hair. His voice is thick, emotional. “She was my friend, but to them she was just a means to an end. A casualty of war.” She feels herself get choked up as well, closes her eyes to hold back tears.

“I know. It’s fucked up. War is always fucked up.”

“So fucked up,” he murmurs, and she curls closer to him, presses her lips to the top of his head, and gently rubs the base of his ear, since he said that made it feel a little better.

“It’s okay if you want to cry. Or sleep. Or just… lay here. I’m not going anywhere.” He pulls her legs over top of him and turns toward her slightly, looks up at her so soft, sweet, sad that it physically hurts her to look at him. Hot tears slip down her cheeks. “I’m so sorry, baby,” she says, cradling his head.

“Oh, don’t cry,” he whispers, pressing his palm to her face, but his eyes are wet, too. “It’s alright. She wasn’t in pain.” She squeezes her eyes shut, tries to force the tears away.

“I’m so glad you were there for her, but I’m sure it was hard. If you want to talk about it, I want to listen.” He swallows again, like he’s not sure he even has the words.

“It was awful. She was bleeding so badly I could barely turn her. I was able to cut off the flow but I think it was too late. She was mostly incoherent, and she couldn’t move her legs, and… She told me to go. She knew help wasn’t coming.”

“I can’t imagine how she must have felt, knowing that,” she says softly.

“She was strangely calm. I think she knew she wouldn’t make it, but I didn’t stop trying. I didn’t leave her.”

“Of course you didn’t.” She bites her lip, holds back tears. “Of course you didn’t, honey. That’s who you are.”

“When the EMT came, I was so relieved. I thought it was over, that she’d be alright.” He runs a hand over his face, exhausted and emotionally spent. “The worst part is knowing how badly I messed it all up.” She sits up a little, abruptly, and he does too, concerned for her. She frowns; she just wanted to be able to look at him.

“What do you mean, you messed up?” He sighs, and it’s self deprecating.

“Sam, the unsub. I was talking to him for a while, he… he tried to help me with Kate. I had no idea it was him.”

“You had just been blown into next week, your friend was dying in front of you. You expected to be profiling the guy trying to help you?” She can tell that he did expect more of himself, and he’ll probably carry that weight for a while, knowing him. He’ll be second guessing everything. “There were other things on your mind, Aaron, and probably ringing in your ears. You were in pain. You need to cut yourself some slack.”

“How about the ambulance? The EMT?” he asks, shaking his head. “I literally drove a terrorist and an ambulance rigged with explosives right into that hospital.”

“Again, you need to cut yourself some slack. Kate was hurt and someone who looked and acted like a first responder came to help you. She needed medical attention, to get to a hospital, and you got her to one. What reason did you have to question any of that?” He looks down at his hands, and she carefully takes his face in hers. “Honey, listen to me. Absolutely nothing that happened tonight was your fault. Nothing.”

“It feels like it’s all my fault,” he says, rough, and she starts crying again: for Kate, for Aaron, for everyone.

“Believe me, this was not your fault. You did so well. And I’m so proud of you. And I love you.” She seeks out his mouth and just rests hers against it, breathes. They both cry, but he is silent where she is all heaving sobs, and they hold each other for what seems like an hour.

Eventually, her sobs taper off, and she reaches over for the box of tissues, cleans her face, then his. “Do you want to get undressed and try to get some sleep? We could catch four hours, maybe.”

“I’m a little afraid of what I’ll see when I close my eyes,” he admits, and she resolutely does not cry again.

“Let’s just lay like this, then.” She pulls down a pillow, puts it under her head, and before she can grab his he gets comfortable with his head resting on her stomach, his hand linked with hers. She takes a deep breath, scratches lightly at his head, rubs his ear, and they lay quietly, eyes open, waiting for morning. Sophie hangs back in the hotel lobby while Aaron and Morgan talk things out—kind of. They’re both really just looking at each other, letting their eyebrows do most of the talking. Men. She grabs a cup of tea, puts her arm around Garcia who is making a cup of coffee.

“Hey. How’re you holding up?” Garcia exhales softly, turns to her with a smile.

“Pretty well I think, considering everything that happened. You?”

“Not bad. Tired. Ready to be home.”

“You ain’t kidding.” She looks over at where Aaron and Morgan are talking, eyes lingering softly on Derek—really lingering. Sophie smiles, knows that look.

“You guys have lots of life-affirming sex?” she asks with a raised eyebrow. Garcia’s eyes meet hers, surprised, but then she nods, grins shyly.

“Yeah. I don’t want anything like that to happen ever again,” she says, waving her hands, her stir stick, “but that part was pretty spectacular.” She smiles wider, clearly thinking about the more pleasing events of last night, and then looks back to Sophie. “You two?” She shakes her head softly.

“No, we weren’t in the right headspace. We just cuddled, but it was what we both needed.”

“That’s good, that you could be there for each other. I’m happy he has you,” she says, patting her arm, and they chat a little more before Sophie gets tired of waiting and walks up to Aaron and Morgan.

“Alright, I let you two have your broment. Are you taking this job or not? We’ve got a four hour car ride ahead of us.”

“You can’t just ask him like that,” Aaron warns, and she grins.

“You can’t, I can. Derek?” He rubs a hand over his head, sighs.

“No. It’s not something I want. I’m not done with the BAU yet.” Sophie drops her bag and pulls him in for a hug, squeezing tight.

“Not only am I happy you’re staying, this makes you look like an incredible badass, you know that, right?” she says as she pulls away. “You turn down this field office for the BAU and you’re going to be talked about at the bureau for a long time.”

“Been making the unit look good since my first day,” he says, playful, but then he glances back at the rest of the team with a soft look. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, and we do it best together.”

“You are right about that.” She shoulders her bag again, pulls the set of keys out of her pocket and shows them to Aaron. “You ready to head out?”

“Yep. Take care of the rest of them for us,” he tells Morgan, who nods, and they go their separate ways. “I’m okay to drive,” he tells her as he loads their bags, but she walks around to the driver’s side anyway.

“I want you to rest, since I know you’re not going to when we get home. I’ll drive.”

The ride is peaceful, surprisingly. It almost feels weird to be so calm after a night of such panic. They play music, low, Aaron’s choice, and they talk about what they’re going to eat when they get home, because they’re both all about food. He leans toward her, rests his hand comfortably on her thigh as they cruise down the turnpike, and she smiles.

She’s decided to be happy, today, for what they have, tries not to dwell on what they’ve lost, or could have lost.

A semi truck blows by them about halfway home, laying on its horn, and it bothers Aaron’s ear, which kind of breaks her heart. The steroid the ER doctor prescribed seemed to help with the pain a little, but loud noises are going to suck for a while, it seems.

“Make a doctor’s appointment as soon as we get home,” she murmurs when it passes, brushing her fingers soothingly through his hair. “I was reading about some treatments that can help, if it doesn’t heal on its own. I’ll go with you if you want, mention them.” He looks up at her, tired but so tender; it’s a look she sees a lot, one she loves.

“I’m so grateful that I found you. I don’t know what I would do without you.” She swallows, keeps her eye on the road though all she wants is to look at his beautiful face, cuts and all.

“I’m grateful I found you too, baby. We’ll get through this, I promise.” She exhales, reminds herself that crying is not on the agenda. “Just remember that I love you, and I’m here for you.”

“That’s not something I’ll ever forget,” he says softly, and they finish the drive home.

So, funny you mention this.

In the more Sci-fi side of the AU’s in my brain I actually have the literal crackiest sci-fi AU, which is actually an actor AU. (like, it could work as a straight up space AU, but the way it happened in my head, it was as the actor AU) I know it’s not really related but I’mma tell you all anyway.

(Don’t worry, I won’t also drop the “bullshit science” Jiaoren concept... today...)

Liu Sang is the sound guy/general behind the scenes stuff idk, for a pretty popular star trek type show, which stars the Iron triangle in the main roles.

The show they play is basically Lost Tomb, but, you know, In Space. They go around finding lost colonies and civilizations and *ahem* preserving the antiquities as best as they can despite the cults and alarming amount of defunct tech that tries to kill Wu Xie’s character every time.

The show itself has a surprisingly heavy ad-lib script, (like, there’s a proper script, but the actors are allowed and encouraged to adjust the lines and stuff on the fly based on their understanding of their own characters) so set technicians hang out in ‘uniform’ in case they need to fix something on set, they can just ~blend~ with the background extras.

During one take of a bridge scene in which Wu Xie’s character (the captain of the space ship) is supposed to be doing a thing on the computer, he hits the wrong button because the programs used for the ship’s systems has been updated and Wu Xie didn’t read the memo and now the prop screen is beeping incessantly.

Sound/tech guy Liu Sang, who normally hangs out as a comm. tech extra (communication technician, like Uhura and Hoshi sato) during bridge scenes, slides over and turns off the annoying beeping, gives Wu Xie the bitchiest of faces, and says “and this is why we read about the system updates when the ship receives upgrades.” Then shows Wu Xie how to use the new user interface for the scene he’s supposed to be filming.

No one breaks character.

The cameras don’t stop rolling, and what should have been a blooper becomes the actual scene, and Liu Sang’s accidental cameo comm. tech becomes a surprise fan favourite.

So Liu Sang, despite not being an actor, keeps getting cameos, and then he winds up being actually involved in plot lines.

And then finally, his character (referred to only as “Jinx” because of Liu Sang’s on set nickname which Pangzi used during the first cameo) dies in an explosion saving the rest of the crew.

the fans go livid.

Then they begin the conspiracies, or maybe the conspiracies had already started by then, because comm. tech Jinx wasn’t actually Liu Sang’s first cameo on the show.

He’d previously played space assassin Wang Can, a minor character during a cult arc, and he’d also played a hacker friend of a friend of Xiazi’s known only as Geist, since the character had a small scene but the actual actor had dropped out last minute and they didn’t have time for a recast for what was essentially a blurry profile shot in front of a computer.

All three characters had been played at different stages of Liu Sang’s hair journey, but speculation abounds on how the three might be related.

There are, of course those who think the trio are unrelated and just happened to be played by the same actor.

The cast and writers of the show listen to the fans and in the end it comes down to Liu Sang’s choice, since he was the one who’d asked to kill off Jinx because he’d failed to realise how much the audience loved his accidental character, and he’d wanted to go back to his normal job.

Liu Sang relents, and they come up with a way to bring him back. They listen to the fan theories, and craft their response, pulling on lore that they’d only skimmed in the show.

A few episodes into the next season, fans are outraged at the lack of mourning for Jinx, but there’s fans who pull apart a few strange turns of phrase from the main crew.

Then several episodes in, it happens.

The ship takes a detour to pick up the ‘new’ comm. tech to fill Jinx’s role.

In front of a computer monitor, a familiar silhouette resolves into Geist, (aka, Liu Sang with the floppy black hair (from the time he fought a haunted paint can)) as a notice pops up on his screen:

Geist wanders down through a series of hallways until he comes to a room in which is a large pod/tub like structure. Geist calls out “gege, are you awake now?”, and the top of the pod opens to reveal a pool of funky coloured liquid from which our regularly scheduled Liu Sang Jinx emerges.  wet and naked

Over the next few episodes Jinx’s backstory and connection to both Geist and Wang Can are revealed: They’re members of a clone army that were made for a war centuries ago, equipped with neural downloading so the folks in charge didn’t have to retrain a new replacement every time one was killed (think Cylons from the Galactica reboot) and so secret, hard earned information wasn’t lost. But most batches never saw the field because the war finished before they were needed, and they were put into long term storage.

And then they were forgotten.

And then a few systems malfunctioned and several (dozen?) clones were released from stasis.

Wang Can is back in perma-stasis after going crazy and joining a galactic death cult, but Jinx, Geist (G-31-ST) and several other clones (not all of the same physical model) are running around the galaxy.

J Series were espionage units, designed to have heightened hearing and linguistic comprehension.  1 is actually 001, first of his batch, NX, which were the first batch capable of doing what they were designed to do, with out suffering overstimulation/audio overload every ten minutes.

G series were designed to be good with computer programming. (hackers.)

Wang Can is from a front line series, one with a habit of going homicidal even without repeatedly dying.

We’re inviting you to take a trip with your Sims to your favorite destination with the newly added ability to vacation anywhere within The Sims 4! Here at Maxis, we’ll be hitting the slopes of Mt. Komorebi with the release of The Sims 4 Snowy Escape in just a few short days. Curious how it works? Read on! NEW & IMPROVED FEATURES Platforms

Platforms enable you to build rooms at varying heights within a story level. As much as we’d love to sit here and go on and on about how incredible platforms are and how they completely revolutionize Build Mode, you’ll see that for yourself as soon as you try them out in-game! Here are some basics for how they function and how you start building with them.

You either can use the new

Platform Tool

directly in or you can place preset platforms that come in various shapes and sizes. You’ll find both of these within the “Walls and Empty Rooms” section of Build Mode.

You easily can add or adjust the height of a platform in any room. Simply click on a room to select it, and the new up & down arrows in the widget that appears will allow you to add or adjust the height of a platform within that space.

Because platforms can have their height adjusted up or down, you can even create platforms that sink down beneath ground… like, really,

deep down. I don’t know why anyone would want to do that *

*, but the option’s there! This ability to go deep is reserved for the ground level and basements.

You can stack platforms on top of platforms, on top of platforms, on top of platforms, on top of platforms, on top of platforms… Seriously, go nuts. Get creative. Make something nobody has ever seen in The Sims before!... On top of platforms…

When a platform’s height is a single step higher or lower than the adjacent floor, Sims are able to step onto it. For anything higher than a single step, connecting a set of stairs or a ladder between the different surfaces will allow Sims to reach them. Here’s your first advanced lesson in platforming: Remember that callout about stacking platforms on top of each other? If each stacked platform is a single step in height, you could certainly make some interesting custom staircases…

One notable exception - platforms can’t connect across multiple levels. If you build a stack of platforms all the way to the ceiling, the very last step will need to be a staircase or ladder to connect two separate floors of a building together.

Platforms can be utilized as fully functional space or be purely decorative areas - the choice is yours! As you adjust the height of a platform, your Sims will intelligently adapt to that space. For example, you could create a platform with only enough head clearance for a child to enter. The possibilities are endless!

The visual look of platforms can be customized in a variety of ways. The “Walls and Empty Rooms” section of Build Mode now has a “Platform Trims” subcategory. Here you’ll find trims that match all of our foundations as well as some new trims with basic materials that look perfect in the interior of a building. Want to go even further? Try wrapping the edge of a platform with half walls and then customize the edge with any wall material. Mix and match these methods for creative results!

Even More Half-Walls

Speaking of Half-Walls, we’re pleased to share that we’ve created 12 additional Half-Wall heights to choose from, adding to the 7 heights previously available. One could factually say this is our most sizable Half-Wall update ever! Pity the poor person who was tasked with writing uniquely descriptive names for each of these 19 height variations.

Sentiments

Sentiments are those special fuzzy feelings that form between Sims when they share a memorable moment together. Shared experiences between Sims now offer the opportunity for Sims to develop long-lasting sentiments between each other, which in turn affects how they feel and act in the presence of (or the absence of) another particular Sim. Unlike relationships between Sims, Sentiments can be a one-sided affair. When two or more Sims share an experience together, you may find that all, some, or none of them walk away from that moment having formed a lasting impression of the other Sims that were involved. The base game includes a wide variety of these Sentiments and Snowy Escape has additional ones tied to experiences within that pack.

Sentiments that have formed between Sims can be viewed in two locations. When socializing with another Sim, click on the heart-covered notebook that appears in the social UI at the top of your screen. Alternatively, you can view the Sentiments that exist between two Sims at any time within the new Sim Profile within the Relationship Panel. Read on for more information on this new Sim Profile ...

Have you ever gone to check out the other Sims in your Sims’ life, only to be greeted with an overwhelmingly large tooltip that extended from the tippy top all the way to the bottom of your screen? We certainly have, and we weren’t happy with it.

! Within the Relationship Panel, you can now click on the portrait of any Sim and select “Open Sim Profile” for a full breakdown of all the info the active Sim knows about that Sim. It even includes those nifty new Sentiments everyone’s been talking about!

Skin Tone Update Console & Community Identified Issues

We saw your feedback about the October skin tones update and, to improve clarity and transparency, we shared a first look on Twitter of the fix in progress.

With this patch, the Console game gets the October fixes for texture compression, resolving the banding on the cheeks and foreheads as well as discoloration on the tip of the nose.

In addition, this patch addresses the two community-identified issues of red dots around the lips and a dark blotch between the eyes. The red dots around the lips should be completely resolved at this time. The dark blotch between the eyes was softened to remove the hard edge, but the darkening is expected as part of the shadowing around the nose.

Vacation Anywhere

Couldn’t we all use a good vacation right about now? Your Sims certainly could, and now they can go anywhere! The ability to go on a vacation to any of your worlds has been added to the game for all players along with the “Rental” lot type.

To vacation to a world, a rental lot must exist within it. Should you purchase Snowy Escape, you’ll find the residential world of Mt. Komorebi includes some pre-built rental lots - a ready getaway awaiting your Sims. If you prefer to vacation in another world (Sulani, anyone?), you’ll first need to enter Manage Worlds mode and update at least one of the lots within the desired world to become a rental lot.

During a vacation, if your Sims are lacking any necessities, they now can “Order Supplies Now” from the rental’s mailbox or from their phone. Happy travels!

We figured it’d be nice to give toddlers a pair of slippers to wear. So we did. Cozy feet!

S-Pop Radio Station

You may remember S-Pop (short for “Sim-Pop”) as a radio station in the City Living expansion pack. While the music tracks that originally came with that station will remain exclusive to City Living, the station itself is now available for all players with five new songs for all players to enjoy:

The Sims 4

Freelancer Sims now can complete Gigs they have signed up for and harvest the fruits of their labor. Simoleons, Simoleons, Simoooleons… SIMOOOLEOOONS.

Does your Sim look bored all the time? Even when you think they are having fun, they look bored to you? Not a problem anymore. It’s been… taken care of.

Calls Dropping? Is your Cell Phone behaving like a certain network is just not up to snuff? We have upgraded all Sims to Simgular - Llama’s Choice Network that does not allow Off-the-Grid shenanigans when your Sims are not Off-the-Grid.

The NanoCan Touchless Trash Can has been recalled and fixed so now all your trash can be cash in a flash.

Did you ever experience the Honey I Shrunk the Basil and Sage Plants issue in-game? No longer! *No Sage or Basil Plants were harmed in the fixing of this issue*.

Ever had Sims show up looking like a product of a bad makeover? Did your Debate Judge just show up to the debate wearing a mascot hat when they're not the mascot? Did your fellow Spellcasters show up in the Magic Realm wearing not so magical clothes? Say no more… We have applied a fix so that non-playable Sims can be a bit more appropriately coordinated in their outfits and per occasion.

Door lock settings now persist when Sims travel. That’s right! If I disallow everybody, it should stay that way when I travel… or when I exit the game… and the occasional restart, too... hmpf!

Sims who have passed away no longer sometimes disappear from their Genealogy. This is not retroactive, so any Sims that already disappeared will not return.

Sims no longer ignore the kitchen sink and dishwasher to wash their dishes in the bathroom sink. Okay.

Oasis Springs’ World Map now shows lots in the correct locations. I see you, Yuma Heights - don’t be sneaky now.

Sims now can propose to their beloved without rejection (congratulations!). On the same note, Sims with multiple romantic partners now can propose and marry one of them and not get sabotaged by their partners’ predicament of not being able to get married because they are employed together, even when they are not.

Sims who have finished their workday now get back to things sooner instead of sometimes staring off into space.

Ever wished your delicious food just never… ended? We thought we did until our Sims were unable to finish their meals. Now they are able to finish Eating Leftovers. They are leftovers, not leftFOREVERS.

Sims sharing double beds now can Nap or Sleep in any combination. Sim A can nap and Sim B can Sleep… or Sim A can Sleep and Sim B can nap… or they can both Sleep… or nap… well, you get the picture.

Shower Tubs now can be cleaned enough to be visibly squeaky-clean.

Another one bites the dust. The issue that generated Error Code: 110:c875d8ff on game load has been fixed.

Style Influencer Sims now perform Quick Sketch Impression without breaking the Digital Sketchpad. Be kind with your tools and toys.

Removed incorrect Moodlets such as “Awkward Hug” when Unflirty Sims hugged kids. In the same fashion, we made sure Unflirty Sims no longer receive the “Witnessed Crass Act” Moodlet when parents and children hug or kiss cheeks.

Adult Sims now Teach Blocks to their Toddlers. Learning in early life is important!

Sims on vacation now can hire a Nanny and/or a Butler to take care of things while they are away.

Toddlers no longer will show as “At Daycare” when they are taken back home via the “Care for Self” option. No Toddler clones here... you can’t be two places at once!

Toddlers left at home while the rest of the household goes on Vacation now receive proper care and otherwise can join the Vacation. THINK OF THE CHILDREN. Toddlers deserve fun and relaxation in new places, too!

Toddlers no longer get the “Silly Ocean” Moodlet from playing in rivers.

Children once again can earn Adult skills. *sniff* They grow up so fast!

Simmers in social events now get a warning when switching to a Sim in another neighborhood rather than the event cancelling automatically.

Sims with enough Simoleons now can move into empty lots.

Splitting households and then moving no longer causes an infinite load.

We told Sims that they should probably not take 45 minutes to drink a single cup of Coffee. As you guys know, I am a coffee fiend, but nursing the same cup for that long is not in the coffee lover’s manual for enjoying fresh coffee.

We met with our wonderful Sim Firefighters and came to the agreement that they now also will extinguish fires on wall objects such as paintings.

Action progress bars no longer are interrupted when a new action is added to a Sim's queue.

Sometimes items could disappear from your Sim's inventory after travelling. This should no longer happen. Where is my cup of coffee? Oh, okay, it is here….

Sims no longer have Clay Blobs, Future Cubes, and/or Sketch Pads spawn infinitely in their Inventory. This felt like grabbing something out of Felix the Cat’s bag… just a never-ending bag of Clay Blobs, Future Cubes, and Sketch Pads… what did it all mean!? We may never know.

Opening a stack of Inventory items and then going back now highlights the correct item.

In reviewing items in Inventory, we realized that some item stacks were showing the number 99+ incorrectly on Multiselect. What’s the number? - Stomp, Stomp! - What’s the number? - Stomp, Stomp! - The number of the day… you’re about to see the number is the actual number of items you have! Ah ha ha. That’s the number of the day!

Sims no longer endlessly play games such as Chess, Sabacc (if you own Journey to Batuu), Voidcritter Cards (if you own Kids Stuff), and your regular Card games. I could play with Meduso forever though… #Meduso4ever.

Page Up/Page Down and Home/End Keys now work in Free Cam Mode.

The Aspiration Panel now shows the gender of Sims regardless of whether they are active.

Now only Gardeners autonomously remove wild plants. Sims with Green Fiend Trait (if you own Eco Lifestyle) were being a bit overly eager in removing plants everywhere, so the professionals will handle it from now on.

“Listen To Together” on a Stereo no longer resets Sims.

Sims no longer get “Poorly Decorated” and “Dismally Decorated” Moodlets when decorations are in the room. This applies to new Saves as it is not retroactive, but, my, how judgemental Lots were….

Columns now can rotate 45 degrees and in Free Rotation. Spin them right round, Simmers, right round.

The liveeditobjects cheat no longer surfaces items with broken thumbnails that were not meant to be part of that cheat. Pardon our dust.

Shower descriptions in the catalog said they were “Uncomfortable.” Showers are meant to relax and be a place of meditation, so the catalog now says they provide “Discomfort Relief” unless the specific shower really is uncomfortable.

The Subtle Saucer and the Super Subtle Saucer now have images that are more distinct from each other in the catalog. Super Subtle, Super Saucer.

Removed the “Player Feats” door because it wasn’t really a door…

Dishwashers The Professional Dish Laborer, Washer Pro Free-Standing Dishwasher (from Dine Out), and Industrial Dishwasher Unit (from Parenthood) no longer have a gap between counters.

Digital World wall tiles have been polished. Shiny and new!

Career-unlockable outfits no longer show up when filtering for Custom Content.

Toddlers no longer have bald spots when zoomed out on Low Graphics Settings.

Sims with certain feminine frames now look better when wearing Pants or Full Body outfits.

Fixed some Create a Sim item backgrounds.

Selecting what you want to do next at the end of the tutorial on console no longer has the mysterious word "Label" in the background.

Gallery filters no longer cut off some venue type names in some languages. This was particularly egregious for French and Brazilian Portuguese text.

Game fonts got some spiffing up to keep all characters looking their best.

As with every update, the localization team has tweaked, improved, and fixed text across all Packs and previous updates.

To explain a bit further, we created a much more robust set of internal tools that allows us to have greater control over the outfits that the Sims choose to wear in unique situations. We’ve improved a lot of the wacky townie fashion you’ve seen previously (it’s called fashion sweaty - look it up), but if you still see oddities - let us know. It’ll be an easier issue for us to “iron out” moving forward! Together, we can defeat the dreaded eyeball ring.

Get to Work

Scientist Sims placing collected crystals and metals in their Laboratory no longer crash the game. Do you ever science so hard, the simulation crashes?

The “Test Serum” action on a Scientist co-worker no longer causes an error.

Get Together

Stone Frame Window (window1x1_EP02TUDstoneFrame2Tile_set1), Holey Geometry (window1x1_EP02TUDLow_03_2Tile_set1), and King of Diamonds Classical Door (doorSingle2x1_EP02TUDHigh3Tile_set1) now place properly.

Sims in Clubs with a Read rule now finish the books they choose to read. No cheating, my friends.

Wearing their Earbuds (if you own Fitness Stuff) and participating in Club Gatherings no longer causes an error.

Club affiliation on University Housing (if you own Discover University) now persists after entering Build/Buy Mode.

City Living

Ultra Speed now works while Festivals are in progress. Some conspiracy can be said about Festivals wanting Simmers to enjoy them in all their glory… at a normal speed at every speed, but these are just conjectures… yes.

Sims no longer read their mail aloud while conversing with their apartment neighbors. Talk about rude, right?

“Read about Festival” now consistently displays festival information.

Sims from specific San Myshuno neighborhoods now have more variety on their appearance.

Cats and Dogs

Stencils in Create a Sim (Pet) now consistently paint your furry friends without crashing.

Seasons

The holiday tradition New Skill Day now focuses on starting new skills and improving low level skills so skills that are maxed out don’t count.

Toddlers who are inside during a blizzard and in a high chair no longer want to Run Inside, so their caretakers won’t take them out of the chair prematurely. You are safe little one; you are safe.

Now all onions, carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, apples, tomatoes, and growfruits can be planted indoors during freezing weather.

Plants no longer change their quality or evolve on their own after Sims traveling.

Some Outdoor Plants that were stuck in summer/fall now turn brown and lose their flowers when winter starts.

Sims now can book Vacations on the computer during holidays.

Simmers who have disabled Rain and Snow no longer should see them during Mysterious Weather. Mysterious indeed.

Male Sims now wear appropriate shoes when working as a Floral Designer or Botanist.

The beanie hat cuHat_EP05BeaniePom now looks a bit better.

Sims scheduling an event in the Calendar for a Rental Lot no longer end up in a Lot where they have not been greeted.

Get Famous

Stans (“stalker fans”) and Kleptomaniac Sims no longer steal Pet food bowls or Cat litter. I have no words for this one. I have nothing.

Sims with maxed out Atrocious Reputation now maintain their reputation when traveling. Atrocious you shall be forever.

Island Living

Conservationist Sims now Write Conservation Articles at the appropriate career level (level 4). On the same note, the task for Research Conservation now can be completed.

Odd Jobs no longer get stuck in a state where Inventory and Build Mode cannot be accessed.

We had long conversations with Island Celebration Participants and agreed that no random Sims should enter a Sim’s home without permission, barging in as if they owned the place. Excuse you, privacy, and property are a thing, you know?

Discover University

We chatted with the registrar at Britechester University and got them to agree that students should receive class time reminders before class instead of after. You’re welcome. Now, make sure you go on time, alright?

School Spirit Day no longer schedules multiple instances at the same time. But… Did you know it is Spirit Day?

Club gatherings no longer have Sims with their bikes indoors in a disruptive manner.

Sims traveling long distances including stairs now properly walk the stairs and then hop their bikes and they don’t leave their bike behind. You can’t just abandon your bicycle - what about the poor bike’s feelings?

Sims now properly get off bikes while on a slope.

Lawyer Sims now File Court Documents as their tasks dictate at levels after 5. Just because you move up doesn’t mean you stop filing docs.

Students in a different neighborhood from their University now go to school instead of work when choosing “Go to Class” from the Career Panel.

Students now can receive only one merit scholarship per term.

Sims no longer are listed as being at University when they are at home.

The game no longer sometimes freezes when Sims enroll in University. We get that attending University is life-changing, but freezing a game is taking it a bit to extremes.

Students now return to Campuses in their leisure time to cloud gaze and play Soccer in the surrounding areas of Britechester University and Foxbury Institute respectively.

Sims jogging in an Exo-Mech suit no longer get fatigue-related Moodlets.

For Eco Lifestyle Simmers, “Throw Away” and “Compost” now are available on piles of discarded food. The consequences of not having these were especially egregious at University Dorms.

Sweatpants yfBottom_EP08LooseSweatpants now look better when paired with scarf yfTop_EP08SweaterScarf in Create a Sim.

Eco Lifestyle

Recycle Disciple Sims without the Kleptomaniac Trait now swipe household objects less often. We get it, we are all trying to do our best for the environment, but going after your Dumpster was a bit too far… we kinda need that.

Eco Footprints no longer change very quickly from “Green” to “Neutral.” Knox rejoices.

Eco Footprints in Worlds no longer become Neutral when entering Manage Worlds.

We had a chat with Eco Inspectors and they agreed that they should display the correct occupation from now on. And they shall be known as Eco Inspectors… forever.

Bulldozing Pinecrest Apartments now is possible without damaging the lot.

Harvestables obtained via a Dumpster no longer disappear from Inventory a few minutes later. Easy come, easy go… would you not disappear, though?

Recycling is a wonderful thing. Recycling for Inventory exposed missing text on some Grand Meals, so we filled in those names.

Toddlers living in Lots with the Reduce and Recycle Lot Trait mayyyybe were taking it a bit too far generating trash piles in their inventories. Put that down - No more trash in your pockets.

Did your floor patterns experience a glow that never went away after selecting all of them? That’s not a problem anymore.

The Wallpaper formerly known as sheetStandingSeam01GEN has been renamed to Corrugated Metal.

The Fabricator’s Fabricated Couch (no dye) recipe now creates the correct item.

Residential Wall Speaker is renamed to Venue Wall Speaker: Americana to accurately reflect its function and music.

Venue Wall Speaker: Americana now looks correct with the neutral wood option.

Sims no longer get up from their seats at restaurants randomly and create chaos by speaking to other patrons, grabbing food from their table, putting it somewhere else, and taking over the place by playing the piano or singing. But it was quite the show, wasn’t it?

Xbox One Simmers now can edit Restaurant Staff Uniforms in Build Mode along with other Simmers.

Vampires

Vampire Spar no longer negatively affects Conflict resolution for Simmers with Parenthood.

Realm of Magic

Spellcasters with all spells learned and maxed out no longer lose those when downloaded from the Library/Gallery Muscle memory perhaps?

Create a Sim no longer has the less-than-attractive skin type that was intended only for cursed Sims as an option.

Spellcasters have reviewed the terms of their “Always Transportalate” Spell and now can actually teleport anywhere, even places with stairs.

Journey To Batuu

Sims now are able to complete First Order or Resistance missions and then choose the Hope vs Order - First Steps Aspiration and complete all goals.

The Lightsaber Collection plaque now has a proper name and description so you can display it with pride.

The First Order sent a memo stating to change the First Order Blast Door to not accept any decals or wall decorations.

Mail-marking function is here!

Hello everyone! Paimon is here with our newest Developers Discussion. Let's see what updates we have, shall we! (*^∇^*)

Q1: Can't you lower the Original Resin Requirement of the weekly challenges? After doing one on Monday, I don't have enough resin to do anything else for the rest of the week.

A1: Paimon is on it! The Original Resin consumption of weekly challenges like Trounce Domain and Lupus Boreas, Dominator of Wolves will be adjusted in Version 1.5. For more details, make sure to check out our upcoming version 1.5 Special Program.

Q2: It's really hard to aim on mobile devices. Especially with the touch screen, it took me forever to get it right! Trying to complete the eagle shooting achievement is such a torture.

A2: In version 1.5, we have improved the aiming experience on mobile devices with the following solutions:

- On mobile devices, three additional adjustment levels have been added under Settings > Camera Sensitivity (Aimed Shot Mode). It has been increased from the original levels 1 to 5 (which now correspond with the new levels 4 to 8) to the new adjustment levels 1 to 8.

- On mobile devices, under Settings, there is now a Camera Acceleration Mode (Aimed Shot Mode). With this mode selected, the camera movement speed will change dynamically with the speed of your finger.

- Also, to adapt to different screen sizes of mobile devices, there will be a new option under Settings, UI Border Offset. Travelers can adjust the positioning of the whole UI interface on the screen of your device.

Q3: Can you display the number of items in possession on the Crafting Page? I hate to have to open my Inventory over and over to check how many of each item I have.

A3: The dev team has received your feedback! In version 1.5, Travelers will be able to see the numbers of items in possession on the Crafting, Forging, and Cooking menus.

Q4: I missed the Windblume Festival! Can I no longer get a Windsong Lyre?

A4: After the Version 1.5 Update, Travelers who've missed the chance to exchange for Windblume Festival Items can go visit Granny Shan in Liyue Harbor, and purchase the Windblume Festival Commemorative Balloon and Windsong Lyre using Mora.

Q5: Since the beginning, I have saved up more than 200 mails that I think are worth collecting, but one day I accidentally deleted all of them! We need a mail-lock function ASAP!

A5: Aw, Paimon wants to give you a big hug! In Version 1.5, we have added a new mail marking function. Mails that are marked will not be deleted by the Delete All function (although expired mail will still disappear). Also, the mail saving function is also under development!

Q6: Why is it that the characters' combat voice lines are not listed under Profile > Voice-Over? I can't make out what they're saying when they're performing Skills.

A6: Hmm, interesting question, wait a second... Oh, Paimon's got it! In later versions, under each character's Profile > Voice-Over, there will be an additional page displaying the character's combat voice lines.

Q7: It's too easy to delete Friends by accident! I just wanted to click on their Avatar to invite them to join my world, but my hand slipped and deleted them instead!

A7: Our developers have received this feedback. In later versions, a confirmation message will pop up when deleting friends.

Q8: There should be some sort of account verification when logging in. Don't allow people to log in by just knowing a username and password alone.

A8: Paimon has forwarded on this feedback to the dev team! According to our experts, they are in the process of developing a solution that will further ensure account security for our users. Once the solution is ready, it will first be tested on some regions, if no further issues arise, then it will eventually be implemented to all servers.

Q9: Sometimes when I want to replenish my HP by visiting a Statue of The Seven, it only replenishes a small amount of HP, and it shows that it has 0/50000 HP replenishment point. No one has come to my world, and I haven't used it either, it just went to zero for no reason.

A9: The dev team is working on this problem. There may have been an issue with the way the Statue of The Seven's regeneration rate is recorded in the server. (Going offline or disconnecting from a Co-op play may cause the Statue's regeneration rate to not function properly.)

Now, the Statue of The Seven's regeneration rate has been fixed accordingly. So that going offline, or disconnecting from a Co-op play will no longer cause this bug to occur.
