Travelled to Whitby today! This is where Dracula arrives in England in the book, and the abbey ruins at the coast are absolutely gorgeous!! Ducky Drac felt right at home.

And at night, they illuminated the place!! It was so amazing… they also did a Dracula related play which was really fun. I actually had a chat with the guy who played Van Helsing during my visit in the afternoon and he was really cool.

Also… apparently it was goth weekend today so it was REALLY busy. Was really cool to see everyone’s outfits though!

Did I just accidentally find my dragon kintype's hearthome??? Or am I just having an episode?

So, I had a dream ages ago about being my dragon self, flying over the water and returning home to an elaborate cathedral, and it was so distinctly *home* that I almost felt sick when I woke up. I remember the ornate architecture, and the tower, and the grassy fields around it. I remember huge arches, dark stone and floors.

I found it.

I finally found it.

This is the ruins of Whitby Abbey, a cathedral in Whitby Yorkshire. I'm absolutely floored, this is literally it! This is home!

This is how it looked when it was built; they used drone lighting to complete the parts that have been damaged by time.

I literally found my home, I'm shaking.

This is it.

This is home.

I can feel the stone beneath my feet, I can hear the wind whistling through the windows. I feel in my heart that this is home.

I visited Whitby Abbey, the backdrop to Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Sadly I didn't meet any vampire (I mean really one of these two ⬇️ 🤭)
