i had a glass of wine so now im speaking quite loosely but. it is both a little inspiring and makes me achingly sad that people can believe in a current world where TWO main male leads of an immensely popular network drama can have a coming out arc. especially within one season of another.

in a perfect world yes that would happen. but i am so sorry the coiffed fat cat execs know the importance of a straight bachelor main. they just do. people need to focus less on what makes “narrative sense” and more about “we are functioning within a very precise and mass appeal-based industry that only cares about money”

hmm, i think it depends on what you consider angst and how much you can take! i cried my way through writing before but i'm also the type to cry over songs so i'm not trustworthy when it comes to opinions on angst HDSFJSDJF

but to answer your question, i think it's a lot! the mc is going to go through it with everyone else. there's a lot the mc has to contend with and when it comes to intersecting storylines there's a looooot of heavy emotions (even if the relationships aren't romantic!)

sorry just thinking about clark's little 'cloning has a lot of ethical problems but i do trust cadmus to do it right' like. buddy. FIVE MINUTES AGO guardian told you 'eh cadmus might order me to kidnap and hold the boy prisoner and i would do it'. you know. the boy. modeled after your dead body. that cadmus stole. the boy who was rescued by other clone children. before he could be brainwashed. by cadmus.

and yet i must admit. on the other hand. technically. they made a clone of someone who fully consented to it (paul). they just made the kid look like superman. they could have done that without the dead body. theres enough pictures of him out there, after all. like. i guess. i guess he's right that's technically the least unethical way to do it. he's just a guy's designer baby. and technically cadmus didn't try to kill him, and are very put out by the idea that they would, that was just paul. (you know. the guy in charge. of cadmus.) the trouble is what they did after they made the clone. you know. the aging stuff and planning to brainwash him and. you know. only living as a weapon. and everything else.

The angst isn't going to be tuap levels (is it even fair to call that angst? lmao), but there will be drama. It's complicated because they were never in love, and there's not even a lingering sexual tension. They just very much have a "grass is greener on the other side" perspective on their coparent. Annabeth wants more chances to be the fun parent, and Luke wants more responsibility. But Annabeth won't give up more days with her, and Luke can just afford to take her more fun places.

Also Luke does routinely try and convince Annabeth to marry him, but it has everything to do with him a) wanting more time with Sophia and b) having a narrow vision of what family should be.So he does struggle when he watches her actually fall in love, and in love with a man who does really love their daughter too. It's not that he'd ever want Sophia to have a bad step parent, or that he'd ever think Annabeth would tolerate such a thing. It's just that ... well, he wishes he could hate the guy. He wishes his daughter didn't also call him "dad."

While I'm thinking about A Lonely Place of Dying and Tim being a weird gremlin right from the start, though, this panel lives rent free in my head and I think about it all the time.

Because on the one hand I think fanon has a tendency to exaggerate the level of deliberate neglect on the part of the Drakes. They didn't just leave Tim living alone in a house as a middle schooler, they put him in boarding school so he would have, you know, adult supervision to some degree, which is probably the responsible thing to do if you're going to be traveling internationally most of the time and not there yourself.

ON THE OTHER HAND. What Tim is actually saying here, in response to Alfred's very reasonable and concerned question of "Where are your parents, random child", is that apparently nobody is looking after him right now. His parents are traveling, his school is on break, and he just traveled across state lines repeatedly to track down a dude who is basically a stranger and apparently no one has noticed.

Which means, presumably, that his parents think he's at school and his school probably thinks he's with his parents and he's probably lying to both of them because he had Batman Business to attend to and that's clearly more important than any adult who's responsible for his well-being knowing where the fuck he is or what he's up to. (Chasing Batman around taking pictures, breaking into people's homes, getting into a fight with a clown, etc.)

And for those who don't interpret Ten as aro, I feel like this adds a fascinating new aspect to his regeneration into that face, and both face's relationship with Rose.
