"The though process of Rhaegar asking 16 year old Jaime Lannister to guard his family is so absurd and shows how Rhaegar didn't give a fuck about anyone!"
The 16 year old elected Lord Commander of the Night's Watch in charge of getting the Wall battle ready against an existential apocalyptic threat, dealing with the reconstruction of 19 castles, funds, food, training, weapons and thousands of men, women and children...
Meanwhile the 15 year old queen of Meereen dealing with trade, justice, maintenance of armies, agriculture, an insurgency, disease, famine etc...
#Rhaegar Targaryen#Jaime Lannister#Jon Snow#asoiaf#Nah it's hilarious how Jaime's age is always mentioned when he was one of their best Kingsguard at that time....#When the main characters of the story are teens who are rulers and leaders#Or maybe they think the Targaryen kids are just ten times more talented than Jaime's useless ass

Albegas/Gladiator Voltron Revisited
A few years ago I posted about Gladiator Voltron, the proposed third Voltron season which was to be adapted from Lightspeed Electroid Albegas. Ultimately it was abandoned in favor of producing another batch of Lion Voltron episodes. About a year ago Toei released the first two episodes of Albegas with English subtitles on Youtube. You can watch both episodes here and here.
This post is meant to be an update of my first Gladiator Voltron/Albegas post, with more detail about the characters and setting. I also briefly share my thoughts on the show based on the two episodes available.
SETTING AND STORY
In the future, the nations of Earth have been at peace with each other for many years. Our three protagonists, Daisaku, Tetsuya, and Hotaru, are talented students at Aoda School, which is famous for its robotics program and located near Mt. Fuji. Their lives are turned upside down when the evil alien Derringer Empire, who already rules the galaxy, invades Earth. Earth’s only hope against this threat is the super robot Albegas and the three teenagers piloting it.
THE HEROES
Our heroes are teenagers who attend Aoda School in Japan. Each of them created a robot for a school competition. Their bots were later improved and modified so they could combine into Albegas.
Daisaku Enjoji
Daisaku is brash, confident, loud-mouthed, and a total cad. Despite his bad grades, his skills in robotics are apparently superior to both Tetsuya and Hotaru’s. He comes from a working class family consisting of his painter father, stay-at-home mother, cheeky younger brother Jiro, and a younger sister. Both he and Tetsuya have a crush on Hotaru, though Daisaku is more blatant and perverted about it. His hobby is soccer. Pilots Alpha Robo (black).
Tetsuya Jin
Tetsuya comes across as more reserved than his two teammates. Like the others, he’s a student at Aoba School and skilled in robotics. It’s unknown what his grades are like, but at least one of his teachers, Ms. Danko Kibi, scolds him for his rebellious attitude. He and his sister grew up orphans with no other family to take care of them. Currently he lives alone in the school dorms. Tetsuya feels lonely and envies those who still have parents. What happened to his parents, along with the whereabouts of his sister, aren’t mentioned in the first two episodes. Unfortunately, he’s something of a slob; his dorm room is a mess. Like Daisaku, he also has a crush on Hotaru. However, he’s more subtle about it and expresses exasperation at Daisaku’s pervy antics towards her. His hobby is playing guitar. Pilots Beta Robo (blue).
Hotaru Mizuki
Hotaru is the daughter of Professor Mizuki; her mother isn’t mentioned, but it’s implied she’s been out of the picture for a long time. Beautiful, intelligent, and feminine, she’s the star of Aoba School and her class representative. Despite being adored by her teachers and the heartthrob of her male classmates, she’s bullied by her female peers. She also longs for a mother figure; there’s a scene where Hotaru outright tells her father and his assistant, Saeko Asabuki, that she approves of their relationship and hopes they get married so Saeko can be her stepmother. While annoyed by Daisaku’s caddish ways, it’s implied the attraction might be mutual. Her hobby is tennis. Pilots Gamma Robo (red).
SUPPORTING CHARACTERS
The allies, family, and friends of our heroes.
Goro Kumai
HIS JAPANESE BLOOD TINGLES! A well-meaning but bumbling classmate of the main trio who serves as the show’s comic relief. Goro does his best to help defend Earth with his self-made gorilla robot but he’s simply out of his league. Daisaku considers him a burden while Hotaru pities him. He has an unreciprocated crush on Hotaru.
Professor Mizuki
A brilliant scientist and Hotaru’s father. His knowledge of robotics is second to none. After the main trio’s robots were nearly destroyed by invading Derringer, he not only rebuilt them, but made them much more powerful and able to combine into Albegas. He also serves as both a mentor and the voice of reason; he tries to encourage the trio to exercise caution and patience. However, his words often fall on deaf ears, and the trio’s insistence on rushing headlong into battle against his repeated warnings frustrates him. But he believes in the trio’s abilities. It’s implied he’s sweet on his assistant, Saeko Asabuki.
Saeko Asabuki
Professor Mizuki’s assistant and love interest. She’s soft spoken, beautiful, and lady-like. Hotaru wants her as a stepmother.
Ms. Danko Kibi
An overbearing, outspoken and strong willed teacher at Aoba School. She takes her job very seriously, is fiercely proud of the school, and believes it’s important her students grow to be strong, stout, and fearless. Despite not being the head teacher, she often gets her way through sheer force of personality.
THE VILLAINS
The villains aren’t very fleshed out, but given I only had two episodes, that’s not very surprising. Anyway, the Derringer are an evil purple-skinned alien race of conquers who have set their sights on Earth. They desire our planet for its beauty and consider humans primitive. Albegas is humanity’s only effective weapon against their superior technology. Their giant robot Mecha-Fighters are the Derringer’s most fearsome weapon.
Lord Deran the Great
Supreme ruler of the Derringer. We don’t actually see him in these episodes. The only information we learn about him is he desires all things beautiful as his own.
President Azass
The leader of the invading Derringer force stationed in a base orbiting Earth.
General Duston
President Azass’s top officer, at least during these first two episodes. He’s ruthless, prideful, and doesn’t take humans seriously.
General Catastra
Another army officer on President Azass’s orbital base.
Dyme
Yet another Derringer officer. He considers Duston an incompetent moron for not taking Albegas more seriously as a threat
LIGHTSPEED ELECTROID ALBEGAS
The three robots that compose Albegas (Alpha Robot, Beta Robo, and Gamma Robo) were not originally designed to combine together. Instead they were individually built by the main trio as entries into a school competition. When the Derringer attacked Japan, the three teens attempted to fight off the invaders in their robots, but were soundly defeated. Professor Mizuki, seeing the robots’ potential, both rebuilt and heavily modified them, making them far more powerful and able to combine together into multiple configurations. However, the three pilots, at first, don’t know and understand just how extensive the modifications were despite Professor Mizuki’s repeated warnings. Unfortunately, circumstances in the first two episodes have not given them time for proper training. As a result, the pilots are learning about Albegas’s abilities, and how to use them, in the heat of combat.
As stated, the robot comprising Albegas can combine in different ways, with each combination having its own specialization.
Denjin Dimension
Alpha, Beta, Gamma. This is the basic combat configuration. Can use the finishing move Denjin Sanbai Sword.
Sky Dimension
Beta, Alpha, Gamma. We don’t see any of its abilities, but I’m guessing it specializes in flight and/or aerial combat.
Professor Mizuki mentions four other modes: Space, Sea, Underground, and Rescue.
My Thoughts
Do I think American Voltron fans missed out by not having Albegas localized? Not really. Between this, Golion, and Dairuggar, I feel this was the weakest show of the three, and I don’t think it would’ve captured kid’s imaginations the way Lion Voltron did. Granted, in some ways Albegas has more elements in common with GoLion than Diaruggar: small number of pilots, planet bound, faster paced, and a simpler story. But, again, I only have two episodes to go by, so I could be wrong on some of those points. But I’m interested enough that I’d watch more episodes if they became available.

Restless Rewatch: The Untamed Episode 11 first part
(Masterpost) (Other Canary Goodness)
Warning: Spoilers for All 50 Episodes!
Okay! This episode is a real slice of healthy family dynamics, not triggering in any way. [Uh if this is your first Restless Rewatch: that is sarcasm, dear readers]
Goodbye to You, Goodbye to Everything We Knew
Nie Huaisang asks why Meng Yao has to leave and Meng Yao says "I killed a guy without permission, so your brother fired me."
Ha ha ha ha no he doesn't. But he does give Nie Huaisang a sweet, sad smile; he seems touched by NHS's distress.
Meng Yao carefully removes Nie Huaisang's hands from his shoulders and bows to him, wordlessly signaling the change in their relationship from intimate friends to formal strangers, while Nie Huaisang looks crushed.
They will return to intimate friendship in the future, but falsely. Meng Yao believes that truly loving a person can include destroying their family and using them as an instrument in your murder plots as long as you don't directly harm them. Nie Huaisang eventually learns to use people just as brutally, but he doesn't lie to himself about what he's doing. This farewell may be the last harmless moment between these friends.
Jiang Cheng is distressed by what's going on, while Wei Wuxian crosses his arms and watches, fully in Sherlock Holmes mode, instead of his more usual concerned-for-my-friend mode. This may signal mistrust of Meng Yao, who refused his initial attempt at friendship, and not in a sexy, slice-your-face-off way. Or it may mean that he's reserving judgement on a complicated family situation. He maintains his uncharacteristic reserve through the entire encounter.
(more behind the cut!)
Nie Huaisang runs in and asks his brother WTF happened. Nie Mingjue says "he killed my subordinate without permission, when he knows perfectly well power must flow from the ruler; it's like he didn't even read that Foucault book I gave him."
Ha ha ha actually he just yells at his brother, as if NHS doesn’t have his own relationship with Meng Yao after being wonder twink powers with him for probably a couple of years now. NHS has to sit and process his loss and confusion in silence.
As a younger sibling who would make friends with my older siblings' girlfriends and then lose those friends if they broke up, for reasons having nothing to do with why I liked their girlfriends, I super feel Nie Huaisang's pain here.
OTOH, older siblings are entitled to have break ups and not explain themselves to anyone besides their lover because that's the nature of intimacy. The moral is, uhh...don't have a family curse that makes you unreasonably angry.
Jiang Cheng steps up to advocate for Meng Yao, because Meng Yao is injured, and because Jiang Cheng is actually a born leader who knows better than to throw away a useful subordinate. For example, even when Wei Wuxian is at his drunkest and most defiant, Jiang Cheng tries to reform him, not kick him out, only drawing the line at having unpopular zombie friends.
Wei Wuxian continues to keep his mouth shut, waiting for Nie Mingjue to calm down, and speaking only about the tactical situation. He clearly knows there's more to this story but he's pretty good at keeping his head down in a family ruckus, and we're about to learn why.
Yunmeng Town
The Yunmeng bros go home to Lotus Pier, where they are greeted in town with bows, smiles, and free stuff.
We've mostly been seeing them in their roles within the cultivation community, where Jiang Cheng is grumpy and anxious, and Wei Wuxian is sassy and iconoclastic. Here among common people, they are both charming, friendly, and polite, like the imaginary good kind of gentry.
They hear the news from a local lotus seller that the small clans are coming to the Jiang Clan for shelter, but that otherwise everything's ok, which doesn't sound like everything is ok at all. He gives Wei Wuxian a giant bag of lotuses for his sister to make soup from.
Home to Lotus Pier
All the disciples practicing in the courtyard at Lotus Pier are excited to see them, and one girl goes running to tell Jiang Yanli. Thanks to the admittedly beautiful design of Lotus Pier, she is running for a long time.
A long, long time. Getting around on all these insane walkways must be a real drag if you're not the flying sort of cultivator.
Discipline and Punish
Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian immediately go and kneel while they wait for their official punishment. Jiang Cheng is kinda worried about the punishment and Wei Wuxian is like, I'm good at being punished, just let me do it.
Much later, and for a really long fucking time
He also tries to get Jiang Cheng to stop being mad, even giving him skritches while he says they should be brothers after they die.
Which they will, as it happens, although Jiang Cheng after the Wen torture is only mostly golden-core dead, while WWX dies for real.
When Jiang Fengmian shows up Jiang Cheng starts to explain that they were with Lan Wangji, but Wei Wuxian hushes him; he is still keeping the secret of the Yin Iron. Although he's keeping it in exactly the manner that a teenager keeps their weed stash secret: immediately tell literally every teen friend about it, but keep it extra secret from everybody's parents.
Happy Families Are All Alike
Now we get to meet Yu Ziyuan, who is generally styled Madame Yu but who I'm going to call by her name just as if she was a male character. More on that concept in a minute. She rolls up looking, smelling, feeling like a million yuan, with her two murder bitches in tow.
Her marriage is an unhappy one, and her husband does his best to avoid her and avoid conflict, lying to the kids that she's tired and then sending her away later with the same line about being tired, which is a particularly gendered kind of gaslighting. She is obviously not tired, other than being tired of Jiang Fengmian's shit.
I'm not going to say she's the worst mother ever, because parenthood in a feudal society entails a wide range of skills, many of which she has in abundance. She starts off with a relatively tender greeting to Jiang Cheng, tuning up his always-amazing sartorial style, which is exactly like her own. They are all ready for the mommy & me fashion show.
That said, she dishes out hellacious verbal abuse to everyone in her family. She targets each one in turn, making Wei Wuxian the focus of most of her ire, but without ever directly speaking to him. He is not, in her view, part of her family.
The Stages of Family Dinner
1. Try to fix it and defuse the situation
2. Yeah no
3. Just keep your head down and be glad it’s not your turn in the hot seat
This family meal hammers home how much Wei Wuxian is not, actually, part of the family. Jiang Fengmian adopted him into the clan, and told A-Cheng and A-Yi to treat him as a sibling, but he didn't give him the Jiang name, and he didn't get his wife's approval. He also doesn’t expect him to dress like any other clan member, apparently.
Compare this to how Lan Wangji, actual good parent, fully integrates his own adopted son into his clan and family, starting with giving him the Lan surname.
The hits just keep coming as she goes after Jiang Cheng for being less gifted than Wei Wuxian, Yanli for performing labor for Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Fengmian for possibly begetting Wei Wuxian.
On first watching this scene I took her question "Is this how you raise someone else's son?" to mean that she thought Jiang Fengmian was being too nice to a kid who was actually an outsider, taking resources away from the real kids. But on rewatching, it's pretty clear that she's saying his favoring Wei Wuxian is evidence that Wei Wuxian is NOT someone else's son; that he's Jiang Fengmian's bastard.
Jiang Fengmian doesn't say a thing to this, or to her mentioning WWX’s mother. This shit is why WWX is running around in the world desperate for any crumb of info he can get about his Mom; he hears about her all the goddamn time at home, but only as insults to her character.
A Bitch is Not Wrong
Here's the thing, though; a lot of what Yu Ziyuan says is correct.
Jiang Fengmian should be a lot more concerned about the danger to the children, and should not leave it up to the kids to decide who's going to bear that danger.
Yanli does a lot of food=love, which is ok in the right doses, but causes her to pretty extremely lose face during the whole "soup for Jin Zixuan" debacle. And her doting on Wei Wuxian is...kinda excessive. I mean, yeah, she’s more like a mom than a sister to him, but still. Running out onto an active battlefield to look for him, frex, will be a skosh too much.
I have a dictionary too, mom
Jiang Cheng, as the future clan leader, shouldn't let his attachments affect his decision making, and should let Wei Wuxian, who's the superior cultivator, fend for himself more often. We love Jiang Cheng for those moments where he puts himself in harm's way to protect his loved ones, but it's not a good strategy. He constantly yells at Wei Wuxian for the exact same thing he does all the time himself; he just limits who he does it for.
After she roasts the shit out of everyone for these failings, she leaves, and everyone sits around being miserable and not talking about what just happened.
Not to be gender studies-y on main but: the awful things she says to her children are really not very different from the things that Jiang Cheng says to Jin Ling, although her targeting is more adept. JC also says a lot of mean things to WWX when he’s angry. When a man says cruel or insulting things, it's often presented as real love hidden under a rough exterior. When a woman does it, she's a monster.
If you enjoy this sort of interaction you should definitely have a look at Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and the plays of Eugene O'Neill.
Road Runner
Oh thank god, moving on
Lan Wangji is headed back to Cloud Recesses, and gets ambushed by the roadside with the most ridiculous trap this side of Wile E. Coyote.
Wen Chao thinks the "rug over a hole" trap is a good idea for someone who can literally fly.
Lan Wangji doesn't faff about with sword riding, he just fucking goes up in the air and stays there until he is good goddamn ready to come down. A hole in the sidewalk is really not going to be a problem for him.
Wen Zhuliu does get in one kick before Lan Wanji yeets backwards away from him, in a moment that's scarier on rewatching, now that I know what Wen Zhuliu is capable of.
Wen Chao talks some smack to Lan Wangji, hilariously complaining about "your patronizing tone" to a man who has literally never spoken a word to him, IIRC, and certainly isn't speaking now. Maybe it's a mistranslation and should be "attitude," or maybe Wen Chao is just that dumb.
Apparently Wei Wuxian made a stack of talismans for Lan Wangji to take on the road with him. This talisman is a twin to the one Lan Wangji brings out way, way later in Yunping, when Wei Wuxian says "you even have kept it until now." Missing scene alert! What else did he make for him?
In Yunping this talisman is used to distract some random harmless street bullies. Here it is used against a seven-man murder squad.
This works.
Assault on Cloud Recesses
Forgettable disciple #1, Su She, comes rushing in to tell Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen that Cloud Recesses is under attack.
I'm pretty sure these dudes already know it, because they are meditating extra hard with a buttload of incense, and Lan Qiren is about to cough up some blood. So I think they're trying to hold the ward, rather than just, like, chilling while their disciples get stabbed.
Cloud Recesses is super on fire, you guys; it's going to totally burn to the ground; look at that conflagration, oh the humanity, etc.
Lan Qiren Rises to the Occasion
Ok, I like to rag on Failmaster Qiren and he is definitely an authoritarian dick a whole lot of the time, but in this scene he is fucking amazing.
He starts off worrying about Lan Wangji, not just out of affection but out of strategic planning, probably in equal parts. All three of these Lans take their clan responsibilities extremely seriously.
Then he calmly assesses the situation while imperturbable Lan Xichen freaks the fuck out.
Lan Xichen is right to be alarmed, because he knows his uncle, he knows one of them is likely to die, and he knows that Lan Qiren will choose to take the hit.
I love, love, love Lan Qiren's physicality here; how centered and assured he is, as he holds his nephew steady and explains what is required of both of them.
Lan Xichen knows Lan Qiren is right. He is utterly fucking devastated, and all he can do to show his love...
...is to obey.
This whole scene just. kills me.
Su She and forgettable disciple #2 are in the room for this whole conversation, and they join Lan Xichen in this deep bow. Note: I will be reminding everyone of this fact in Part 2.
Whew. This episode is a LOT. Part 2 Coming Soon!
Writing Prompt: What other goodies did Wei Wuxian put in Lan Wangji's care package before Lan Wangji hit the road without saying goodbye?
Soundtrack: 1. Michelle Branch, Goodbye to You 2. Ludacris, Stand Up

Chapter twenty: The Dance
Summary: Y/l/n Y/n, a third year at Sakura High School, is just a girl with a bad attitude towards anyone outside her small circle. When y/n’s younger sister starts first year, she gains a lot of attention. Unfortunately for everyone in school, the Y/l/n household has one rule, No dating till y/n does. Some people become just desperate enough to pay the leader of the “Monsters”, the trouble making group on campus, to date y/n. What will happen when she finds out? (All characters aged up to third year unless otherwise stated)
TW: Swearing, mentions of pregnancy, mentions of abandonment, Oikawa being a complete ass, physical violence, angst
______________________________________________________________
Third Person Pov 9:30pm
Oikawa pulled into the y/l/n’s house. He exited his car as he approached the door. He did a quick reflection check and pushed his hair around and fixed his suit.
“You’re a hottie, you got this, tonight IS the night.” He said to his reflection. He then knocked on the door. At first there was no answer. So he knocked again. He pulled out his phone and tried to call Mei on it, but just to his luck, no response. The door opened but the sisters father was left standing in front of him.
“Can I help you?”
“Yes, we met once,”
“I remember, that teen boy who smells like a teen sex magnet.” He cut Oikawa off.
“Umm okay… Is Mei home?” He asked, trying to ignore his previous comment on his smell.
“No and if she was I still would not let her out with you again.”
“Sir I assure you I am a good guy who just wants to treat her right.”
“I see your kind everyday in the hospital I work at. The type to get someone pregnant and then run while they are giving birth and never look back.”
“That is oddly specific, but I must assure you I am not interested in that stuff right n-” Before Oikawa could finish his sentence the door was slammed in his face.
“Okay wow that was rude.” He said to himself walking down the front steps back to his car. He checked his phone for more time before leaving. Atsumu had sent him an image. Oikawa opened it only to see Mei and Yamaguchi dancing together, holding onto one another even. He felt himself get angry. He tossed his phone aside and pulled out of the driveway heading to the dance.
At the dance already- Third person pov
Tendou walked up to the door with his arm entangled with Y/n’s. He seemed to be a little nervous. Nothing anyone could see upon first glance, but definitely something the other monsters were aware of. Tendou swallowed a lump in his throat as they entered inside, to look over the dance floor.
“Do you wanna dance?” Y/n said louder then she normally would speak to him.
“Yeah let’s do it babe.” She seemed to not even notice the nerves he was dealing with.
They made their way down to the dance floor and Tendou did the best he could to Oikawa and his goons at this time. Not seeing Oikawa yet he assumed it was safe for now, but seeing Yamaguchi dancing with Y/n’s younger sister, he could only guess Oikawa would be angry with them and him. Tendou was not afraid of Oikawa in any way, but he was afraid he would tell y/n before he got a chance to tell you himself.
Just as y/n was laughing and staring up at Tendou with the utmost love, a slow song started to play.
“I hate slow songs at dances,” She began to say, “They make me feel like I’m the main character of some cheesy ass romance movie.”
“Well you are.” He said back as she leaned down, resting her head on his shoulder.
“What do you mean?” She said just loud enough for him to hear.
“You are the main character in my romance story.” Her body stiffened with this remark as he leaned down leaving a kiss on her forehead. “You don’t have to worry, you know me Y/n. You can trust me, I promise.” Just as he was finished saying that the song ended and he saw Oikawa as he rushed through the crowd heading right up to her younger sister.
Tendou pulled you away,
“Can we go get some air in the room over there? It’s just a bit hot in here that's all.” Y/n nodded her head in agreement as she followed close behind. She never let go of his hand the whole way there.
Still on the dance floor, Mei and Yamaguchi were having a wonderful time. Oikawa grabbed Yamaguchi harshly as he ripped him apart from Mei.
“What the fuck Mei!” He shouted. People around them moved back to either give more space or witness the drama unfold.
“Oikawa go away! I am not interested in you anymore!”
“Did your bitch sister tell you more lies about me?” He asked as she reached up and slapped him as hard as she could.
“YOU BITCH!” He shouted as Yamaguchi pushed her behind him. Tsukishima and Shirabu showed up in perfect time to stand next to Yamaguchi, knowing how intimidated Oikawa would become. He looked Mei directly in the eyes and yelled,
“That's fine. You were an expensive whore anyways. You weren't worth my time or money. Have fun being a nobody the rest of your life bitch.” Before anyone knew what was happening, Yamaguchi threw a fist and connected it directly to Oikawa’s face. “What th FUCK!” He said as he tossed a punch right back into Yamaguchi’s stomach, knocking him onto the cold floor.
“You dick!” Mei said. She then punched Oikawa hard in the eye. “That’s for Yamaguchi,” She then punched him again. “That’s for y/n.” Next she grabbed his shoulders and pulled him in a hunched over position, kneeing him in the balls, “And that’s for me asshole!” On that note he fell to the floor. Atsumu and Iwaizuimi came and helped him up and after a minute he was fine. He got the two guys to follow him on the hunt for Tendou.
In the other room of the dance, Y/n and Tendou were doing your own thing and having a great time. The two of you laughed as you rested on the railing that looked down on the floor below.
Oikawa entered the room, his two goons as Tendou called them, following right on his trail. He noticed the two about to kiss as he then spoke up.
“What the absolute fuck Tendou!”
“Who the hell do you think you are talking to?” Tendou said back, already in front of you as to protect you.
“I didn’t pay you to take out this psycho bitch for her whore sister to come with someone else.” Y/n’s head snapped into Oikawa’s direction.
“Fuck off Oikawa.” He said, noticeably angry at that point.
“What the fuck does he mean pay you?” Y/n asked Tendou.
“Oh you didn’t think this was real did you Y/n? You really think anyone would willingly go out with you without being paid did you?” Oikawa asked with full intent to hurt coming through his words adding a conniving laugh to the end of his words.
“He’s lying right Satori?” You asked, voice on the verge of being broken then.
“I-” Tendou stuttered, he took a deep breath before he carried on.”I wanted to tell you sooner, I really did Y/n.”
“So it’s true?” She no longer attempted to hide her tears in that moment. She turned to run away as Tendou grabbed her wrist.
“Please, let me explain first?” He asked her.
“Go to hell Satori!” She said as she ripped her arm from him and ran down the stairs.
Tendou turned to the three guys who had just remained still in front of him.
“You three have just made some powerful enemies.” Tendou stated as he pulled out his phone. The other three fled as they knew the Monsters were now on their way there.
As for y/n, she called Shirabu who had grabbed the other and took her home in Tsukishima’s car. They all sat around y/n’s room after they had just changed from their fancy clothes. Y/n sat in the windowcell, with her head rested upon the glass. She looked out upon the moonlight wondering how such a thing could come to be.
Y/n felt a buzz on her phone as she picked it up. She didn’t recognize the number but the message read;
I know I messed up but I just want to talk to you, please.

Main Issues with Feysand's leadership: it mostly consists on rather inmature, underdeveloped strategy that would in no way get a world leader very far in the real world (see: 'i schooled my face into a look of boredom'), seem content in making enemies left to right as long as they never have to step down from the pedestal that they've built, and see Illyria as a necessary evil, like wtf. In conclusion, Rhysand is a governor for Velaris, but is not fit to be the ruler of the Night Court.
Rounding caveat, because I know I’m going to get shouty: the dividing line between ToG and ACOTAR is that tog is a fantasy series with romance, and acotar is a romance series in a fantasy world. They’re not the same. I’d be totally fine with how the world building in acotar is v handywavy, because it’s still accomplishing what the books set out to do (tell a love story, hello acomaf) but- BUT, it’s not consistent. And that inconsistency wildly undermines the characters.
And god, if Rhysand as a ruler isn’t the heart of ???? spirit.
We’re not going to talk about how the plot of acotar only makes sense backwards (Hey, Rhys, why did you want to kidnap every month a powerless mortal girl???), we’re just going to talk about reputation.
So Rhys is a villain who we learn isn’t actually evil. A classic. He was made to do terrible things by Amarantha! He sacrificed himself to save his friends! Of course the High Lords hate him, they think he sided with the enemy.
That could have been the whole thing- the layers pulled back, Rhysand also a victim, a reason for the world to hate him but for Feyre to see otherwise.
OKAY BUT- then we learn? that Rhysand has been playing Evil Scary Jackass in all political situations? for his entire reign? that’s just what he does?
Round two: Rhys had to be Amarantha’s because he had to “shield the knowledge” of his friends and his capitol? city.
BUT- other people Under the Mountain, also accessible to Amarantha, know the IC??? have been acquainted with them for years? They’re not a secret. Mor was almost married out, Az and Cas are legendary, Amren is a story people tell.
And all those people are probably incentivized by the fact that, you know, they think Rhysand is an evil traitor.
Furthermore: guess who willing cooperated with Amarantha? The Court of Nightmares. Recall who, surprise in acowar, knows all about Velaris: Keir.
Round three: Sexy Evil Cosplay, wherein we learn that not only instead of just keeping it together in politics Rhys has adopted an entire secondary persona, we learn he also...uses this persona...to scare all the other highborn faeries into submission....so he? never has to talk to them?
BUT ALSO: this whole thing is undermined by, once more, Keir.
The whole game on the throne is to instill fear/ control of Keir. The whole Second Face. But Keir knows about Velaris? Keir knows exactly what Rhys stands for because Rhys and Cassian tried to rescue Morrigan from the Court of Nightmares when they were teens. Hell, Keir probably knew Rhys when Rhys was a kid.
It’s almost like eventually the person you pretend to be becomes who you are.
I think the Political Rhys vs Real Rhys started out as a plot point, but in character became this: not someone separate at all, but actually, Rhysand’s coping mechanism for making shitty choices.
See: if everyone in the Court of Nightmares bows, I’m ruling them. It doesn’t matter that women are being sold, that there’s servants and presumably totally normal people trapped in a mountain they can’t leave with people I think are monsters.
Let’s jump to Illyria.
How much easier is it, for Rhysand, half-Illyrian himself, to align wholly with the High Fae and say: no, it’s Illyria’s fault. They’re savages, they’re barbarians.
Easy as being a dick to other powerful men because it’s fun when they can’t fight back.
If the blame isn’t his, he keeps his army. He doesn’t have to fight a civil war that might swallow him whole, considering Illyria is the army he controls vs the High Fae soldiers left entirely under Keir’s rule.
If it’s Illyria’s fault he can successfully reimagine the past as he clearly needs to (someday, I’ll make a whole ass post about Rhysand’s mommy issues and how they creepily bleed into Feyre’s characterization, but one thing at a time).
If it’s Illyria’s fault, he can’t be mad about his Mother, daughter of a warrior race, offering him up for brutal, dangerous training. It’s the fault of Illyria. He doesn’t have to imagine he was learning those things, fighting in the mud, because it was the only way his mother could pass the legacy, could say, look, this is where I come from and someday you will have the power to make it better for your sister, for everyone.
He LOVED his mother. He wears the sacred tattoos, manifests wings, has Illyrian “brothers”.
But- It’s Illyria’s fault, so Rhys didn’t fail, Rhys is doing his duty by keeping them in line.
Which brings us to the war.
I’m unclear on why only the Night Court knew Hybern was coming, but let’s just accept that.
But it’s all about the Public Face, moving in the shadows, the two Rhysands. So for the months Feyre is wasting away with Tamlin, planning her wedding Rhys...doesn’t warn anyone. Doesn’t whisper to the other High Lords to shore up defenses.
He makes a plan contingent on 1)that creepy deal with Feyre that he can now both justify and doesn’t want to enforce knowing she’s his mate, and 2) long lost magical objects no one knows the location of, and that don’t belong to him.
Rhys got SO used to the All-Knowing Dickbag face, it’s like he started believing he was all knowing. He’s one of seven Lords, but he doesn’t talk to any of them, on the off chance they don’t do exactly as he says. He steals from Tarquin, a young High Lord kind enough to take a chance on him. He tricks Mor. He lies to...everyone?
And then it’s a big deal, a failure on their part, when at the FINAL HOUR AND LAST MOMENT BEFORE ALL OUT WAR, AFTER THE SECOND INVASION HAS ALREADY COMMENCED, when the High Lords don’t jump to trust Rhys.
A step back, a Feyre tangent: Feyre, younger, also deeply traumatized, falls into this hard. Rhys tells her he’s the underdog, and she believes it. He’s SO SO SO powerful he can take the voice of another High Lord, Feyre herself thinks he’s so magical the gap between him and his contemporaries is like that between humans and high fae-
But hey wait, they don’t trust him because he’s been a dick for five hundred years.
But hey wait, they came as their true selves, they don’t trust him while he’s WEARING ILLYRIAN WINGS- IT’S BECAUSE HE’S DIFFERENT-
No, it is not, but Feyre’s POV sort of wants us to think so.
And that’s where everything sort of falls apart.
The act of power has stopped being an act- it’s just their actions now. And they do not know how to stop.
Because they are in control, and they have to go on for the war. They have to keep making decisions, even if they’ve lost the thread, because they want to survive.
But they do survive.
And it turns out, even after that, they can’t put down the masks fused to their faces, because the act is the only thing keeping them together.
So the balls to the wall, We Must have the High Ground Even at Our Own Dinner Parties, The Center MUST Hold shit just keeps going: tearing down Lucien because he chose something that wasn’t their Court. Letting Illyria crumble because they don’t need the army right now. Banishing Nesta because she’ll never bow to authority.
All the weird, incestuous feeling inter IC drama.
But they’re the underdogs! the Heroes! It’s not their fault!
So they spend their time in Velaris, charmingly hanging out like they’re normal people, thinking they’re better because power is wielded on an unimaginable personal scale.
Rhys loves his people! Rhys sacrificed!
Rhys...careened from one war/disaster to the next, and then settled down to play house?
The narrative cannot decide: is Rhys really an underdog, devoted to his people? How about he helps every other city that Amarantha destroyed?
Is Rhys a Normal Guy who just wants to walk on pretty cobblestone and have a cute, happy family? Maybe, there should be a government so he isn’t solely responsible for everything?
Is Rhys the Lord of Darkness Redeemed by LOVE? Cool, let’s have him maybe he honest with Feyre exactly once, OR, at least talk about how him dying made her go off the rails and try to fix that with a bandage that isn’t baby shaped before Feyre’s 22nd birthday.
Canonically, becoming High Lord is a mystical, magical endowment. That then, for the most part, functions as some kind of mashup Monarchy/ Feudal Lordship.
If that’s what it is, why can’t we lean into that? Rhys who does want a normal happy life with Feyre, trapped by the weight of immovable magic destiny.
King Rhys, duty bound to his bloodline and his people, torn between different ways to rule.
Hell, Rhysand who really is a monster, because maybe Faeries are monstrous by human standards, who shows Feyre the beauty that lies beneath the brutality in a magic, surreal world where everyone is terrifying, but even monsters love.

Hey! I remember a while back I read a fanfic of yours regarding twilight wings- the unofficial Raihan episode. In it their was an oc of yours, and I was wondering if you have any more? I like making oc's myself and it's fun to see other people's ideas and stories.
Hi there! You have...opened the floodgates (in a good way). I have quite a few champion OCs. I’ll focus on the various champion OCs I have since I’ve mentioned this on my blog before the champions of Pokemon remain my favorite class of characters as they have so much potential as we’ve seen with Leon in SwSh. This is going to be a somewhat long post as I have 5 champions to talk about (plus there are pics here, most of them commissions from some very talented artists that I’ve tagged as I can’t draw)
(There’s Marsha and her starter/ace Rosemary the Audino with @hayleyb100 ‘s character Richard. Thank you HayleyB for drawing this! And if you guys haven’t please check out her amazing art and stories)
I’ll start off with the OC you mentioned in your ask...Marsha (full name Marsha Miller). She’s the Alolan champion that we see in my Conviction, the Raihan twilight wings episode (also shameless plug for my fic). Like many champions she’s a mixed type trainer, but she does have a slight preference for fairy types on her team. Unlike the SM/USUM protagonist, she actually hails from Unova but her family is military (her father used to serve under Lt. Surge before becoming a lieutenant himself) and so she’s lived in Unova, Kanto, and Alola. Before she ended up becoming Alola’s champion, she was content with being head of the cheer squad at her high school while in Kanto (before her family announced moving again and she was needless to say, quite upset at the prospect of throwing away her cheer captain title). Back when she lived in Unova, she would often stop by her grandparents herbalist shop to learn about various medicinal herbs.
I hint to this a bit in my Convictions fic when Marsha asks Raihan a question about him becoming champion elsewhere, but Marsha has a huge bout of imposter syndrome from being the first ever champion of Alola as she doesn’t feel like she measures up to the legends like Red or Blue or known superstar champions like Leon and Cynthia. A lot of her character growth comes after she wins the title as she learns to work with Kukui to help build up the Alola League and make it famous. Luckily she happens to be a pretty friendly, if somewhat reserved character making it easy for her to befriend the likes of Leon and Raihan (and she also gets them to be a couple). Both Leon and Raihan give her tips they’ve learned from being in Galar to help boost the reputation of the Alola League. Back in Alola she is good friends with Mallow, Plumeria and Mina as they often visit Mallow’s restaurant to eat and catch up. She ends up being a big sister friend to Gladion, Lillie and Hau (being in her late teens when she first met the kids) as well as Iris when she meets her at the champion’s conference.
(Credit to @roseltheteacup for this amazing sugimori style artpiece of Calla. Please check out rosel’s artwork as well)
The next one is my probably my most well-developed champion OC and my version of Victor/Gloria...Calla Okoro. She’s the Sword Hero of Galar to go with Hop’s Shield Hero. Calla is a baby genius with an IQ of 162 (so she’d qualify for MENSA in the real world) and graduated college at the age of 12 with a degree in chemistry, a year before she ends up taking on the gym challenge. Her favorite type is poison and she decided that she would take on the gym challenge by using only Poison types, refusing a starter from Leon to train up her Budew and other poison types she found along the way.
Her knowledge of poison types would become very useful towards the end of the challenge and Eternatus awakening and possessing Leon , however this girl struggled so much at the beginning as the poison types she caught don’t really get good until they evolve. It was also a testament to having book knowledge of Pokemon and type advantages doesn’t equate to automatically winning a battle. She struggled especially at Kabu’s gym, resulting in her first official loss (outside of losing her second battle to Hop at Magnolia’s house due to his Rookidee being super effective against her Budew nicknamed Sabi). Calla is persistent though and patient so she worked with her team developing a killer toxic stall strategy (that helped her be the first person to take Leon down). As champion Calla uses her position to promote science and eventually goes back to school to get PhD, becoming the first Galar champion to also be a professor. When Calla is not doing Pokemon battles or giving science demos, she tends to enjoy doing backflip competitions with Gordie or rocking out at Piers’ concerts with Marnie and Hop and Bede (Bede will deny hanging out with them)
(thank you RPG Picrew, I have yet to get official commissioned work of him done)
This is Jabari Revere, my Kalos champion OC and part of the Kalos 5. I’m still working on his backstory and personality as I replay Pokemon Y (I tend to replay the games for my champion OCs to build up their teams and get a sense for the personality). Jabari is a water type champion who enjoys his days swimming in the ocean and surfing on his Mantine, nicknamed Monterey. Like Serena from the anime he is a bit at odds with his mother Grace for wanting him to take up the family tradiiton of Rhyhorn racing. However unlike anipoke!Serena, he did have a goal of training water type Pokemon with the aim of becoming a water type champion just like Wallace from Hoenn. Jabari is definitely an easy going fellow, which helps him befriend Serena, Tierno, Trevor and Shauna as well as Grant and Clemont. Unlike my Galar champion Calla, he is more willing to use Pokemon other than water types, such as when he fought Korrina at the Mega Evolution tower using the Lucario who was attracted to his aura, or when he rescued Yveltal from Team flare and let it get revenge on Lysandre
(this piece was done by @snowythesoft aka ChibiGirl! Thank you again for this and also please check out her art as well)
Yes, you’re looking at a robot. His name is Valen and is actually my first non-self insert Pokemon OC. After watching the first Pokemon movie and seeing Mewtwo be a Pokemon trainer, and also after watching the Watson computer on Jeopardy, I came up with the idea of “what if someone made a robot as a Pokemon trainer”. Hence Valen, the world champion of my version of the Pokemon World
Created by Molayne and Sophocles at the request of Red and Blue as a new fixture for the battle tree, Valen quickly began to learn from the some of the strongest trainers how to battle (with a frequent opponent being Marsha as she needed someone who could challenge her in battle). Once he figured out how to consistently beat the likes of Red, Blue and Marsha in battle...it was a wrap. Valen travelled to every known region and soon became the undisputed most powerful trainer in the world defeating every last living champion. He even took on Leon, Cynthia and Red in a triple battle and won. Despite his absolutely monstrous skill Valen is an absolute sweetheart and always compliments his opponents in battle. He also loves bowties, with his first gift being the red bowtie he sports from Sophocles do not touch or harm that bowtie if you value your life, it’s one of the few things that will actually piss off this gentle giant of a robot.
(credits to the VillainSona Picrew)
So this is my final non-self insert champion OC, His Royal Highness Jack, Duke of Stow-On-Side. In a discord server and on some messages here on tumblr, I’ve described Jack as the unholy combination of Caillou and Jack the Ripper. Jack hails from a disgraced family of aura guardians who learned that they could use their aura powers to create shadow Pokemon. 150 years prior to the main Sword and Shield story line his family managed to beat back the Hammerlocke Royal family (aka the great Raihan’s family) from Stow-On-Side and Ballonlea to claim the two towns for themselves. When Peony stepped down as champion Jack ended up taking the champion title. Now Jack is actually a legitimately powerful trainer without the need to shadowfy his Pokemon, but he does so anyway to ensure absolute control and to hopefully make his royal family the absolute rulers of Galar (his actions would years later inspire Sordward and Shieldbert, the Dukes of Motostoke). He even bribed gym leaders to be extra difficult on challengers he deemed to be a threat (so Leon, Raihan, Nessa and Sonia got hit hard with this).
Jack’s misdeeds are pretty vast. The reason why Sonia is so unconfident in her battling skills? Jack ambushed her in the wild area and destroyed her in a match while mocking her. Why does Leon have that perfect image as champion? He’s trying to build back the reputation the Galar league has after Jack nearly destroyed it’s rep on the world stage with his actions. Why are Leon and Sonia so insistent on you focusing on the gym challenge and leaving the problems to the adults? The adults during their gym challenge were either on Jack’s side or were actually useless against him and his shadow Pokemon. To quote my friends in an rp server I’m in “Jack is the absolute worst” So that’s all of the champion OCs I have. As I continue to write more fanfic will definitely see all of them pop up in various stories.
#pokemon champion#pokemon poc#pokemon OC#ask epic spheal#I love talking about my OCs so if you guys have any questions keep them coming#you have no idea how happy i was to see this question#I screamed at work in the breakroom and spent my lunch answering this lol

How the Anarchists and the Renegades are two sides of the same coin
Because “Why I’m so fucking mad about the end of Supernova " and “Why the similitudes between Ace and Hugh are literally poetic” was too long and fucking dump
Yestarday, I was having a shitty night, so I started to think about the Renegades trilogy and I wanted to share this fucking realization I had, that you all probably already had, but I want to share it anyways.
For the sake of this essay, we’ll refer to the Anarchists as the villans and the Renegades as the heroes.I know that the point of the story is that there’s no really a villain and both sides are wrong in their way, and it is the point of this essay too. Although, for me to explain my idea to you in the clearest way possible, I have to do it like this. Bear with me.
Now, one of the things MM did right was her villains. She used the “villan-is-a-reflection-of-the-hero-strategy”, which I’m a slut for. This (and other strategies to create a sympathetic villan) are explain on this site:
“Picture your hero looking into a mirror. The reflecting image is that of your villain. At first you only see their obvious similarities. But upon closer inspection, you see how the two characters contrast each other in all their disturbing glory. These dark reflections equip your villain with layers of character that match your hero’s depth.”
At first sight, it may seem like Nova and Adrian are the ones who represent these reflections. Both of them have in common their alter egos they hide from the people they know in real life and differentiate in their motives to do it in the first place. But, when you start to analyze, this comparison wouldn’t work with them. On one hand, Adrian cannot be a villain even if he wanted to, and on the other, Nova is a mentally abused teen and villainize her would be fucked up.
With this said, I came with the conclusion that the real reflection this book has, is the one that exists between Renegades and Anarchists, more specifically the one between their leaders Ace and Hugh.
Ace started as a young man who saw a society that systematically oppressed a certain group, so he used his powers to spread chaos, and divide people so he could destroy the system, create a new one and liberate that oppressed group, the prodigies. We never get a super-specific explanation of what he was doing during the AoA, but we know he was the most feared man on the whole planet. He was able to end any kind of government it had existed before. Even if it wasn’t official, Ace was the ruler of the world because of the power he held. He would go as far as killing David when he became a threat to him and the plans he had for the future.
Ace was ruling his perfect vision of the world. In his head, he was doing the right thing.
Then, the Renegades appeared. In theory, the six of them have the same amount of power, but for what we see in the books, Hugh was the leader and the face of the organization. We can assume he was the one who came up with the idea of forming a superhero squad, so then, he was also the one who decided to take action against a society that systematically oppressed a certain group, using his powers, spreading hope and unifying people to destroy the system, create a new one and liberate that oppressed group, the non prodigies. When they defeated Ace, the Renegades became the government, and Hugh would go as far as sentencing Nova to death when she became a threat to him and the plans he had for the future.
Hugh was ruling his perfect vision of the world. In his head, he was doing the right thing.
THEY ARE THE FREAKING SAME AND FOR ME THAT IS FREAKING BEAUTIFUL I LOVE THIS THIS IS POETRY MY GOD THEY ARE ALSO FATHER FIGURES TO OUR MAIN PROTAGONISTS WHEN DO THE SIMILITUDES END??? I DON’T KNOW I LOVE THIS
From my point of view, this is the reason a lot of people are unsatisfied with the end of Supernova. Marissa Meyer had spent three books explaining to us how these two opposing sides are deeply flawed. The Renegades being in power by the end, with no change in their way of doing things is contradictory and lets the reader confused, if not angry.
Ace and the Anarchists didn't deserve to win. But honestly, neither did Hugh and the Renegades.
So yeah next post is gonna be about how I would fix supernova because i’m better writer that MM
Note: I didn’t know how to put this on the essay, but it is important to mention that a CRUCIAL difference between Hugh and Ace is that Hugh was never abusive towards his son or husband, but Ace was constantly manipulating Nova and, well, killed her family and lied to her about it. People can argue that’s why it feels like the Renegades deserved to win because deep down, they were good at heart. And yeah, I don’t believe they were evil the way Ace was, but you can hurt people without realizing it at first. We all have done it at some point in our lives, and it is important to take responsibility for our actions and face the consequences they may bring us.
Hugh and the Renegades took decisions that deeply affected not only Nova, but the whole city, and I hope MM holds them accountable for their actions in future works.
#renegades#archenemies#supernova#renegades trilogy#im not a better writer than MM#it was a joke#dont cancel me#obsi opinions#im a dumbass

Nutri Ventures - Hulu Kids - Trailer
I always had this idea of an RPG video game based off the Healthy Eating cartoon from Portugal, Nutri Ventures, where it would have the same battle system as "South Park the Fractured But Whole" (a very simple tactics battle system) (they’d even pitch it as the family friendly alternative to that game as well as it would be the world's first Edutainment RPG Video Game), and by the way the battle system would be the same as that game, but the overworld system won't it would be top down, with the same animation as in the show, and even voice acting during the text boxes that you can turn on and off (the voices) at anytime] and it'll be not just for younger players but also older and more experienced players as well, here's some ideas that you can even submit them to Ubisoft (since they're really good with RPGs made in the Western Region) to make it for a game for the Nintendo Switch, so please listen to these ideas and consider them
it would follow the story of the show (with some minor changes to make it follow a game more, but we'll get to that), will have ONLINE Player-VS-Player battles in the form as a device from one of the scientists in Grandland HQ, who's good friends with Theo's Grandfather, that you can find in the Grandland labs & can let you battle with yourself from different universes (aka different playthroughs of the game by different people), it will also have a mini-game multiplayer mode (for offline & online) that has up to four players play the mini-games in the game's story mode such as
the Candy Bowl where it plays just like the show and has the move around the game in a camera view where it focus on the screen moving side to side as it shows them moving in circle while keeping the view front side in a continuous moving track shot (with you passing the Goal Bowl of the game at top at certain times), think of it as like NBA Jam if it was for Candy Bowl
the Pod Races where it's a basic Mario Kart racing game (with two different versions, one that has it just on the ground and you can only turn left & right to race and another where you're underwater and you can move left, right, up, & down to race
the Deep Fryer Rally where it’s like that Mario Party 6 Mini-Game “Treasure Trawlers”, where you move topdown by pressing the L&R buttons together repeatedly and turn by pressing ether L or R repeatedly, and you’d aim your position on the paddle boat in order to try to scoop up the Fried Foods with a crane (but the scoop is a fry strainer) by pressing one of the d-pad buttons in order to score points, and it would use the rumble feature as a way to tell where’s the fry food is in the grease (with the more it rumbles the closer you’re at your mark) the player with the most points wins
the Veggie Games where it features all the events from the Green Kingdom chapter
Jousting where it's a four way Joust (or three way in story mode) where players has to charge into other players in order to take down one of his/her hit points while also controlling their horse, last player standing wins
and the Oracle's Quiz (that game is the final test to get the everlasting fruit in the Orange Kingdom Chapter) where the Oracle gives you questions related to food, cuisine, health, recipes, things like that
and the main feature of the game has the players gaining different status effects happen to them when they eat certain foods that's are each based off of their health benefit, like:
Meat & Eggs give you extra attack power cause it's for force for muscles
Dairy Products give you extra defense power cause it's for protection of bones
Vegetables give you extra maximum health cause it's for healing
Wheat & Grains give you extra mana for attacks cause it's for energy
Fish & Seafood gives you extra Experience Points cause it's for Intelligence
Legumes give you extra turns cause it's for boost
Fruit cures ailments cause it's helps with sicknesses
also I'd change the names of the Bad Kingdoms cause I feel like that's fair
Sugar Kingdom would be the Pink Kingdom
Fats Kingdom would be the Bronze Kingdom
Fried Kingdom would be the Gold Kingdom
Salt Desert would be the Silver Kingdom
(also the story behind the Bad Kingdoms is that the rulers of them were also scientists in Nutri-land, but cared more about making the food taste good rather than being nutritious, this lead to many of the other guardians experiments being ruined and the citizens loving their food but kept experiencing the effects of eating them to much, so the Nutri-Guardians kicked them out, and Alex made them into his main four guys for coming up the recipe for Gen-X 100 when he otherthrew Nutri-land and called themselves the big four, and were a team for a while until Alex had enough of the ingredients for Gen-X 100 to run for years, so they went their separate ways)
there are other features include:
-a pit of 100 trials-esc optional enemy gauntlet where you go through a tower of 100 floors with something to fight on each floor in order to progress, & each 10 floors there's a boss [the first 7 being a hologram of a guardian of a kingdom, the 8th being holograms of the rulers of the bad kingdoms all at once, the 9th being a hologram of Nexus, and the last one being hologram of a younger teen version of Merdock (who looks similar to Theo)] in order to get rare and powerful weapons for each character
-extra bosses in the Orange Kingdom, Red Kingdom, & Green Kingdom chapters if you lose the mini-games of those chapters [like if you lose the Candy Bowl, you'll have to fight Candyman, if you lose the joust Theo has to fight the winner, if you lose the Deep Fryer Rally Theo, Ben, & Lena would have to fight Fritz & Fritz Jr. (but you’ll still get chased out regardless) & if you lose the Veggie-Games you have to fight, the team leader of the winning team with Lena, Ben, Nina, & Inca]
-the bosses added as the final boss to the chapter include:
the Mind Control machine turning into a giant baker robot in the Orange Kingdom chapter
Jomanda betraying the Red Kingdom by summoning a Hydra to attack the village after the big fight with Alex in the Red Kingdom chapter
a mechanized dinosaur tank that has the big laser cannon that Alex used to almost destroy the legumes on it's head and two small ones on it's arms (kind of like the Barrel Dragon from Yugioh) that the scientists made Alex that'll you'll have to defeat it on the train before it crashes into the castle in the Brown Kingdom chapter
a powered up Alexander Bluebeard who's gone mad with Nutri-Power (like he eats a big platter consisting of a Grilled Shrimp, Bell Pepper, and Steak Kabob, a bowl of Red Beans & Rice as for a Side, and a Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie as a Drink, and this fills his the Nutri-Powers to the max, and will use more foods in the fight to boost his stats) in the Blue Kingdom chapter
& that Two-Headed Dog from the first episode of Season 6 breaking in through the ceiling of the pyramid just as they were forming the Triads of Light & Darkness to attack the heroes in the Green Kingdom chapter
-Some of the timelines would be connected together to match the form of play, in the Red Kingdom chapter, at the end of the section where Theo, Genevieve, and Nose crash into the salt desert and have to reach the dragon, it would have Theo talking to the dragon, and then cuts to Genevieve & Nose waiting near the Volcano, fire coming out the top, and the Dragons coming after them and then cuts to black and you’d to a few moments earlier where it has the Red Kingdom preparing to defend the kingdom and have the big battle between Alex, with a neverending heard of G-Squads coming during the fight, until it’s interrupted with Theo, Genevieve, & Nose coming in riding on the dragon, and Theo & Genevieve joining the battle & in the Brown Kingdom chapter, it’ll have you play through Theo, Ben, & Guardian Brown getting trapped in the mine first, and when it gets to the point where Theo gets knocked out from exhaustion in the desert, then it cuts to earlier in the day where you play as Nina and go with Johnny to find the treasure and as the two fights Curling Stone & Betty, it would be interrupted with Theo coming in still unconscious as his medallion drags him into it, where Nina & Johnny gives him some Water, Theo joins the fight, and the battle continues, and then it would lead to Theo, Lena, Ben, Nina, & Johnny getting together to go deal with the war only when they get there they discover Alex using the weapon he got from his Father’s Diary on the Legumes
-the Pink Kingdom wouldn't do that whole alternate vision thing where everything is good when you're hypnotized but gross when you aren't, it would all look good, smell good, and taste good (which is how they get the people to be hypnotized by it), but still give you the negative effects of eating too much sugar (even when Lena & Nina enter it for the first time, and your playing as Lena you have the option to keep trying the candy from the Mistresses over and over again until you say no and trigger the first fight with the matrons or until a sudden snap happens and it shows that Lena's lost a tooth, and it would lead to her getting so disgusted at everyone's teeth and big bodies that she just yells everyone to stop, and that triggers the first fight between the Lena and the mistresses, with it later in the fight having it introduce Sid as he jumps into battle)
-whenever you are at sea (floating or diving) in the Blue Kingdom chapter, it would have you doing a board game esc movement, where you draw where you want to go, and it will move in that path, and as you move enemies can move in you too and can cause battles, it kind of works like "Star Fox Command" on the Nintendo DS
-the game has you leveling up your party members of Theo, Lena, Ben, & Nina in order to improve their stats, but there's also Guest Party members who can't level up and are part of certain parts of the story or when you find and meet up with them after you completed a chapter (but they'd leave if you leave the area too far), and they include
Sid for the Orange Kingdom chapter (he's a healer like Nina)
Genevieve (or the Black Knight early on) for the Red Kingdom chapter (she's a fighter like Theo)
Johnny for the Brown Kingdom chapters (he's a shooter like Lena)
Alexander Bluebeard for the Blue Kingdom chapters (who's only available when you have your pact with him) (he's a Brawler like Ben)
Inca for the Green Kingdom chapters (she's a shooter)
Fritz Jr. for the Dragon’s Fury Challenge section in the Red Kingdom chapter (where it would have more enemies there than puzzles and traps) & the Submarine and Neptune’s Trials part of the Blue Kingdom chapter (he's a fighter)
and FYI, the different classes each shows different ways of fighting and different weapons, this is the list of them:
Fighters like Theo uses Swords and other Melee weapons and attacks by pressing certain buttons with certain timing
Shooters like Lena uses Arrows and Guns and attacks by aiming at the right target by trying to keep the cursor in the center of the circle as the cursor moves on it's own
Brawlers like Ben uses Shields and Heavy Swords and attacks by holding a button down and letting go in the right time
Healers like Nina uses water to help other party members regain their health, and doesn't need to press buttons to attack
also all each character’s attack moveset would be determined on the weapon they use (which the weapons you can use are determined by a character’s Level an whenever if it has a “G” on it so that Guest Party Members can use it), as it has different attacks and added effects for it, and an added move specific for each character, Theo can get charge his attack for two turns, Lena can analyze the enemy to reveal it’s stats (including showing the amount of Health it has left onscreen), Ben can guard with his belly, and Nina can use her cuteness to try lower the opponents defenses
-the whole quest would have it not only regaining the seven kingdoms but also to find all the stones from the start, not just starting at the end of the Red Kingdom chapter [so in the beginning of the game Theo already has the White Stone but gets it's power after talking to a Kangaroo Rat in Racing Gear as one of the Guardians of the Temple of Nutrition, he finds the Yellow Stone from a tower in the Yellow Kingdom that used to bring the people hope but worn out when Ty-Paw’s army kept attacking, and after a vision with a Journey to the West-esc monkey in the Temple of Nutrition about never give up doing what's right, Theo gets the stone and uses it's powers to defeat the invading army, and in the Orange Kingdom chapter (where it would have the 2nd test be facing the Magician Rabbit from episodes 1 & 2 of Season 6 instead of fruit bats, cause the beginning of the Black Kingdom chapter would have it start with them using Theo’s pendant to power up the Rocket into Space) the Orange Stone is in the tower used to power the Antenna for the hypnosis machine, and after a vision from the Stone Monster in the Temple of Nutrition (when it had the pendant force Theo onto the stone when it looked like he tripped when they were trapped in the iron capsule) where he talks about trusting others and try listening to what they have to say, Theo gets the stone after he and his friends getting free from being locked up in the iron capsule thanks to Guga and uses the power of the stone to turn the Pink Kingdom into a Giant Fruit Filled Garden (as shown by a cutscene of all the buildings from the Pink Kingdom being crushed and destroyed by vines & growing trees and it having a shimmer of light peek from the cloudy skies and keeps growing more and more until the sky is completely bright and blue)], and each time the players complete a chapter and get the stone & gain it's power, you get an extra special move you can do by filling up a gage by doing good button commands when attacking to do special things to happen to attack foes or help yourself (like the Star Spirits or the Crystal Stars from "Paper Mario")
-there would be a travelling chef character in towns all over the kingdoms where you can make different recipes using different foods (which all the kingdoms will have food from all the different food groups from the start, cause they'd like to keep in touch with eachother) to turn and combine ordinary foods you have into better foods to the increase the amount of stats you'd gain (for example, if you have an Egg you can eat for extra attack power, but when you give it to the chef along with a Wedge of Cheese & a Grilled Ham Leg, he'll make it into an Omelette where it would not only give you tons more attack power than a regular egg but also extra health as well and extra defense too) and it will even have a recipe log with tons & tons of different recipes
-and lastly in the beginning of the game when you start a new save file, you may not be able to change the characters' names, but you'd be able to explain a little bit about you the player, including your name, what kind of playstyle you want to do for button commands (which are described by Theo's Grandfather as an Easy Game or to play a Little Bit Harder) so all players can enjoy it, and you'd also put which food group your favorite food is (which will give a slightly more better chance at getting extra stats when you eat a food), and it would be a profile for each time you'd do a PvP battle or play an online minigame with someone, they're kind of like street passes
I just think it would be a perfect fit, don’t you think?

Modern day AU?
Alright lets see what I can come up with. I’m going to come up with as much as possible
Main
Madalena would be a politician. No one expected her to rise to the top so quickly considering her background of a lower class family during college but like a month into office everyone knew she would be a major player.
Richard was supposed to be a major political leader like the rest of his family but after a scandal that his wife madelena may or may not of orchestrated his career was ruined. And soon after Richard and Madelena got a divorce.
He moved back to his hometown and re-met his childhood best friend roberta and got married and started a family. He returned into politics years later. In the hopes of redeeming himself and to help improve life for the common folk.
Gareth was also Richard’s best friends. I’ll say they met when Gareth became Richard’s body guard during his political career.
He fell in love with madelena after the divorce she and richard had.
This caused a rift in there friendship but Richard did forgive him. It took a while though
I’ll say galavant grew up the same way I did. He is a military brat like me. His dad served in the army and because of this they moved around a lot because of this.
They stopped moving during his high school years. His mom and dad got a divorce and Gal didn’t see his dad again until he was like thirty.
He and madalena were high school sweet hearts. She dumped him for Richard in the hopes that his family ties could elevate her political career. Which left him heart broken. Since he was planning on proposing to her when she got a job instead he gets to see her on tv with other men.
He joined the military like his dad and when he became a general he had to go to a meeting with his superiors.
It happened to be the same place Isabella was.
She is an ambassador to Valencia. She and Madelena are debating which country owns a right to the jewel. Madelena thinks she owns it because of the fact they are occupying where the jewel was held before the invasion and well the jewel belongs to valencia for millennias.
Her and gal started talking during a break during their jobs and got into a heated debate.
They bicker on and off during this period of Gal and him arguing with superior and Madalena and Isabella’s debate.
But they grew on each other and exchanged numbers before the debates were over. They got married and sid was the best man
Isabella huge supporter of lgbtq rights. She always was but after meeting Sid she became more vocal.
She also met Jubille when Sid and Jubille met during a pride rally. He thought they would make a cute couple before her and Gal dated. Didn’t work.
Sid was orphaned as a baby and has no memory of his parents
He was raised by a Jewish couple in a very small town that was mostly filled with extended family
He was very loved and was made sure he would never forget
Even when he didn’t want a reminder that he was loved. He got a reminder.
Sid joined the millitary when he was 18 and served directly under Galavant.
After Galavant and Isabella became friends he asked Isabella to pretend to be his girl friend for a few weeks in the hopes that his parents will stop asking about a girl friend for a bit.
Isabella agreed and had fun.
They never “broke up” though because galavant managed to convince sid his parents wouldn’t care about him being gay. They would just nag him about getting a husband.
And they did.
Some Random head cannons less story base or I didn’t think this until after I did character headcannons so a bit more random. Some might be stupid but I’m coming up with this as I go and some are awesome
Sid is the most active on social media
Sid is a major fan boy and collects all the action figures
Sid also volunteered a lot in his community
his mom set him up on a lot of awkward blind dates before finding out he’s gay.
Actually the awkward blind dates didn’t stop but now it’s with men
if sid does get married best man is Gal
Richard is bi but doesn’t know it and had a crush on Gareth without realizing it
Sid assumed Isabella was mspec because he always had a habit of befriending queer friends growing up but also knew she like boys
and yes he also assumed gal was queer
Roberta got in multiple fights because a kid was bullying richard growing up
Attempts were made to set Isabella up for an arranged marriage but they always fell through (100% of the time the fall out was izzy’s doing)
The wedding planner gets paid for dealing with journalist for Madelena. But his family was in the wedding planning buisness and he helps out on occassion and plans big fancy political parties for Madalena
Gareth though can be ruthless helps keep Madelena’s morals in check when she does politics
Madalena is the ruler
Gareth and her became a power couple
Richard never became as political strong again after the scandal but became a mayor of a small town and him and roberta were adored.
Enchanted forest is still a gay bar but it went all in the enchanted forest theme. Like it was bat shit insane some of the concotions they came up with. From drinks to interior design. ( the bar actually looks like a forest and the drinks look like potions for ex.)
Gareth was best man during Richard’s wedding and vice versa
though Richard avoided madelena as much as possible during that time
Madelena is a fashion icon her face and outfits are plastered everywhere
the musical numbers on galavant would be pop hits and played on the radio.
off with his shirt is a favorite in the enchanted forest because the singer was a lesbian that lived near the bar
she stops by and visits the bar on occassion
she doesn’t buy any drinks
the pirates were a “gang” but it’s mainly a bunch of friends doing stupid shit in their teens. But they are still a gang even if they didn’t break any laws
galavant’s dad works in children services and adopts several children himself
Galavant and Isabella live in Valencia but travel a lot after Galavant retires and they visit sid a lot
Gal and Richard met because of Isabella’s political career
And they got drunk and bitched about Richard’s bitchy brother. he married Madelina after Richard’s divorce but got ill from some mysterious disease soon after the wedding
Roberta teaches self defense classes
And Richard knows his wife can kick his ass and loves it
Richard mentioned that his wife does this during a town hall meeting and that she’s great at it.
Soon it became a popular class for women and she makes a town full of kick ass women
some men joked about it being spinster island so Isabella got a sign for her that says spinster island
Roberta hangs it up
Richard thinks it is hillarious
the jester is a comedian who occasionly writes songs for his act
also rumored to have an affair with Madelena while she dated richard
Richard never got his jokes
Madelena seemed to like him so Richard took her to all his shows

Villain Headcanon: Lucius Einholt
This one has been a long time coming. You’ve seen him on the blog already doing the rounds in one particular interaction and coming up in another. Now that there is a proper story and background fleshed out for the main story, I can present thee for all to view. This is a relatively new character, originally conceived for one particular interaction, but has of course been expanded to tell a wider story in the main context. This then is the story of Lucius Einholt, Lord Master of the Dark Arts.
Faceclaim is Young Black Jack.
Trigger Warnings include: Experimentation, Self Experimentation, implications of mutilation and self-mutilation.
Lucius is an interesting character.
As a baby, he was raised by caring parents, born in Victorian times. A family who had long tried to throw away a shaky past from generations ago, to begin a proper life, a real life, away from torment, controversy and suffering. The Einholt family cherished their precious son, taught him values and morals. They raised him to be a good boy, to be kind among all.
...But he was only ten years old when he was whisked away from his life by forces who had been watching him his whole life. Forces who had actually been watching his family, for many a time, many a century, even. He was confused, scared, why did these people take him away from happiness and love?
It was because he was supposed to be their saviour, their messiah resurrected, to lead them to a new dawn, a new empire which would consume the whole multiverse. It was a destiny he did not know of in the beginning, no. These grotesque beings kept him isolated. They had to study him, observe him. His morals and values had to be crushed.. and they weren't sure how to do that. They could break him, destroy his psyche, but he was not supposed to be a puppet, he was supposed to be the one to rule. They too, could not force his anger, for it might prove a curse on their species. They had to turn him into that ruler, something which would take a lot of work.
Through his late childhood and teens, he was looked after by maids and servants, treated like royalty. Royalty was supposed to be pampered, after all. When he asked why he was here, they said it was simply for his own good.. and he will see the reason one day. They also put him through training, they needed him to be a fighter.. and he was surprisingly capable, but not enough. They had to make him a good fighter, better than a good fighter, for to rule was to be strong.. and while he had the makings of a strong boy, he had to be stronger than them all.
Scientists experimented, with what would be realised as the dark. Infuse him with that darkness, that energy, make him the darkness' best weapon. Spells of such torture, such pain, coupled with surgery, infuse his organs, manifest strength in the dark. A stronger body, stronger muscles, stronger heart. The initial scars were from this phase, the initial phase of working on him, to make him a carrier, a breathing weapon of darkness. Even part of his face was modified, as a consequence of enhancing his vision, his eyes. Again he asked why, he pleaded why in his emotions, why make him like this. Again, they said it was for his own good.
Finally he reached an age where they believed him to become a man. An age where they could finally tell him what he was meant to be.
He is a great descendant of a powerful man they called the Demon King, who was well prominent in Samurai-Era Japan. The Demon King was an entity that they believed ruled the underworld, controlled demons, created and manifested all sorts of dark horrors. He was selfish, cruel, he sought domination across all of life to plague with demonic hellspawn and rule it all at the very top. But his success was not to be, as a legendary Samurai, known to many as the Lightning Tiger, would challenge the Demon King and drive him to his death, in an active volcano, the only thing on the mortal planet powerful enough to consume him and extinguish his very being.
They wanted Lucius to follow in the Demon King's footsteps, to become that new generation, a new Demon Emperor who could harbour in that new age, in a world that was ever changing. But Lucius, he had different ideas. He found his ancestor sickening, disgusting, he, could not lead such an abominatory cataclysm that would consume all that lived and breathed. They picked him because he was the closest they had ever seen to the Demon King, like he could well have been the son of such a man. Nobody else in that bloodline fit like him, he was the perfect fit.. but he was not going to take up this offer, he would reject it outright. These beings that tortured him, turned him into that weapon that would guide them.. and he was meant to be put on that pedestal? To spread it everywhere? No. He could not be that Emperor.. and he condemned them all for such a greedy, selfish view.
These demons, they of course did not like his answer to their proposal. They got angry, enraged, their messiah had rejected them, their objective, their goal. They saw red, blind red.. they turned in an instant and all they wanted was to tear him apart limb from limb. No true Demon Emperor would turn his back on his own kind.. and he was their own kind, he could not be anything like his parents with his makeup. They saw him then as weak, pitiful.. he had to die. He had to be eliminated, their search to continue once more.
But... he wasn't going to let them kill him. They made the biggest mistake in turning him into a wielder of the darkness first, then telling him what they wanted him to be. It meant that he was too powerful already to exterminate.. and he was able to get out, killing and maiming as many demons as he could to escape the hellhole maze that they made underground. He got out, he saw light, he saw freedom.. but he was lost.. he was without a home, out in the open world. A world unfamiliar to him.. a world that would not be kind to him, as he searched for a new home. He could find his parents, he could reunite with his family, but the experiences he found back in the mortal plane would lead him to believe that it was best to instead let them think he was dead.
Every place he went to, every town, they sensed something in him, something which brought fear, anger, repulsion amongst the population. They sensed his darkness, his abnormality. The infusion of negative energy had left part of his hair white. He was physically a freak and the energy he gave off, nobody wanted to go near him. Every town and city he went to, he was ran out of, nobody could trust him. He was like an outcast of this world. The good, the kindness instilled in him, it was beginning to wane. How can you be kind to someone if nobody will give you a chance? How can you show these people that you are a good person if the darkness reeks all over you, that they can smell it on you, that all they see from you is an individual to greatly fear, to stay away from. Get close.. and he might kill you in the dead of the night. That's what they thought..and word spread around like wildfire. Now towns he was visiting, they already knew of him, they came at him with pitchforks and knives, with torches, they wanted to kill him. They blamed him for their troubles, their sorrows, that he killed people just by being in town, that the flowers died all around him, that the sun was darker and the clouds brewed. They were all blind to his soul, they just saw him as the Devil sent from Hell. He was not safe anywhere, even when walking alone in a forest, they tried to pounce on him, tried to kill him.. and in having to defend himself, to have to end lives, he did not feel good about it.. but in that defence, they saw even more reason to get him. They spun the story that he murdered those poor souls who were trying to tame him, that he was to become a criminal, that he HAD to die no matter what.
Everyone was looking for him now, nobody could rest easy while this supposed Son of Satan was on the loose.
Thankfully, word got to the right people as well.. and soon he was being sought out by another party. In a moment where a whole army chased after him, a whole congregation charged with ending his life, he was found by someone, a group of people, who used magic and trickery to confuse the angry mob, shielding him to let him escape.. and in getting him out of danger, they would reveal themselves to him. There was one village, remote, nobody knew it existed, for good reason. They were known as the Order of the Dark Arts, a cult by any other name to the villages. They hid themselves away for the same reason Lucius was running, for they were persecuted, chased, the nearby towns wanted to eradicate every single one of those 'Satanistic Believers' as they called them. The Order took Lucius in, housed him, kept him safe. They were hospitable, they taught him their ways. They worshipped the dark, that the night kept them safe, only bathed in the moonlight when it shone. The darkness showed them to be wary of the light, first persevered as the light of flames from torches of the mobs that used to hunt for them, but also in that the sunlight would hide the deviousness, the hunters in their droves. They used the darkness to see, to give them solace. They practiced dark magic to further their safety, they showed him what it could do for him.
The thing that won him over, was that they were not seeking to dominate the world or the multiverse. They just wanted to live in safety, as a peaceful community, that worshipped the darkness for what they saw as their comfort.
They did not see it as nothingness or extinction, they saw it as strength, resolve, union, comfort, happiness. They celebrated, they congregated. It was a community that bred and flourished. He would become part of that community, showing resolve to become their leader, their protector. He lead only in the stead that he had to keep them safe, for he was one of them, he was filled with that darkness, that negative energy.. and he found a purpose in this village to show kindness, even in the circumstances that he was in.
He trained more, he experimented further on himself only in ways shown by the Dark Arts to further his strength, his speed, his power. He did all he could to become more and more powerful, to become unstoppable. His body now littered with scars from all he did on himself, the pain he bore through, for pain was an indicator that one was to become stronger in the end.. and he was, he found himself truly in a position to take care of the village that raised him. He would become their Lord Master, a title that was once held by an individual who birthed the town, killed while rescuing his kind many a moon ago. Lucius would become more than his predecessor.. and he lived with this Order, studying the darkness, researching it, reading about it, wanting to know all he could, doing away with the cliches, the misconceptions, that the darkness was not something to be feared, that it did not mean consumption or destruction. There was peace in it, not peace in death, but peace in life, that one can live in it, around it.. and that darkness must always be present in the multiverse, just as present as the light. No more, no less.
His powers and experimentation had allowed him to outlive all that he knew, the villagers that he lived with, they all grew old, they died.. and their offspring grew old and died.. and so on. He was their constant, almost like their God.. but he never wanted that title. He did not see himself as a God, he saw himself only as their Lord Master, their protector, to shield them in the darkness from those who sought to annihilate them. Centuries passed, but they did not move with the times, the changing landscape. Even as the 20th and 21st century came past, they did not catch up. To them, their world was still a time away, still in the Edwardian times, only just running around in Tin Lizzies, but without the magic of electricity. The darkness did all they needed, the magic gifting them with homes, clothes, means for food, everything. They were happy. He is their Champion of the Dark.. and he will forever keep them safe... to forever keep their peace, the peace he always wanted. As well, he still bears the last name of Einholt, in memory and tribute to his long lost family, the family that raised him and loved him.. and he hoped that they are looking fondly on him, that he is still their good natured boy, the boy he brought them up to be.
But despite all his good, his care, he is to this day still labelled a target, a target of misconceptions, of fear, of uncertainty. The modern age brought information to people at such rapid pace, including organisations of intelligence and science. Forces outside deduced his story, his lineage, they read up on his publicised kidnapping, they tracked down the underworld and found out that he was the descendant of the Demon King from all those years ago.. they did not know of his peace.. and they were concerned that he was out there, on the loose.. and that one day he would rise again and become a threat to all life and mankind. They would seek to find him, to subdue him.. to kill him before he could get the chance. After all.. it's in his lineage... right?
You have to ask yourself. Is he really a villain? Or is he only made out to be, a scapegoat, in the eyes of the blind light, that's seen in so many people, populated across the globe... and the multiverse...
Lucius, by nature, is a sophisticated individual. He endeavours to be kind, but he is also very wary, especially of outsiders. Centuries of living in his solitary village showed that trust to outsiders does not come easy, in fact, it rarely comes at all, unless you can prove that you are not biased, that you are not blind, that you can see beyond your misconceived teachings and can respect the other side of the coin. He does not tolerate judgement or bias, of any sort. He will defend his people to the death, from any and all foes. They are his world, his life, his everything. He is a researcher, avid in many teachings and wants to know more about the world around him and the greater multiverse, even keen to research the other side, even if he is a fully dedicated follower of the Darkness for all of eternity.
He is listed as approach with extreme caution. Indeed, you should approach with caution, but not for the reasons that they want you to think...
Verse Specific:
Bladena Verse ( @xbloodsoakedx ): In this verse, Lucius was whisked at birth to the Church of the Great One. There, he was experimented on brutally, in many different ways, even going so far as to try and shatter his psyche. He was one of many ‘Weapons’ created to protect the church from all threats. In his case, he was crafted to protect the world against the likes of warriors like Rokuro Hengawa, powerful entities who came close to eradicating the Church entirely. It is in that nature that he is aptly named the ‘Atomite Killer’ in confidence, since he was literally made to threaten even the most powerful of Gods. A common theme is that he is supporting and working alongside the Church’s newest weapon, Violent Violet.

somewhere someone is angry over something. so for today’s occassion of me manifesting here i would like to tell you all who are still here for some reason (which i am thankful of, make no mistake) about one positive change reading homestuck brought to my life
head down under the readmore ↓ ↓ ↓ it’s under there because it’s wordy, but i’m putting it in the main tag if someone who still hangs around in there wants to have some feel good time
unlike most homestuck fans you could meet, i didn’t actually read it as a teen nor did i spend years with it. i did my first complete reading of it last may when i was 4 months away from being 21. it’s not like i’ve met a lot of people but among people i’ve met i think that’s a pretty unique homestuck age experience... at that time i’d already dropped out of college and was idling around inbetween therapy sessions
you know that post about how ex honor students are like horses? that’s me. i’m a horse. completely dysfunctional and lacking direction. my teenage years were heavy with depression, with unnoticed mental illnesses and confusion with a mix of both inferior and superior complexes. and when i came of age i inevitably ran out of energy to deal with all of that and still “living competently”. frustrated with a subpar higher education and my own lack of motivation for doing what was expected of me, i came to a screeching halt, abandoned the path i’d been trying so hard to walk on since childhood and sat on the grassy sides of the road to eat sweets and look at clouds. the more i spent time like that the more i realized i was like, groveling in the dark looking for something i’d lost. i didn’t even know what it was, i only knew i needed it desperately
i started on homestuck shortly after its 9th anniversary because i love everything art, and i wanted to know more about the impact it left on internet culture. it was definitely a lot more than i’d anticipated. it was stock full of beautiful colors and intriguing concepts, amazing characters and vocabulary i still don’t remember most of. it was really great. not perfect, but it reflected the growth of the author through out the years and that is something i deeply respect. not just that, but also the contributions of many other people throughout its run. it wasn’t something that belonged to anyone alone, and it’s beautiful
look, if anything i’m not that smart of a person. other people might feel different idk. i’m not the type to type in perfect syntax on the interwebz (though i will when i have to). i don’t understand a lot of things, though i try to learn. i can’t really pull off neatly written meta posts with references to mythology and religion and all that stuff, though i love reading other people’s writing on that. my art isn’t something that can take your breath away, if anything it’s very flawed. i’m not special anything
and that’s the thing. i’m not special. i don’t stand out. i’m just a person. we got 7 billion more on this globe, i’m just one of them. that’s what homestuck helped me realize. and it is deeply comforting
you might be able to infer it from my earlier karkat post but i don’t think of him as a leader. i don’t think of him as someone meant for grandiose things. i definitely am projecting, because out of the entire cast of dozens of characters karkat is the one i resemble the most, down to the situational desire for something bigger than either of us originally are. if taken out of the context of a meta narrative and allowed a completely normal life, i think karkat’s strongest point displays in the most ordinary things. the way he cares about people to the point of troubling himself constantly, how he desperately looks for the good in others but not so much in himself. not president karkat. just your neighbor karkat. i think after so many years fearing for his life and harboring a dream born out of sole desperation for acceptance into a dysfunctional society that would never accept him, a normal life like that would bring him happiness
there’s also calliope. other people have talked about how they’re a loving reflection of the creative fanbase. i focus on something else with them. at the end of the journey there was very little thing special about them. that doesn’t mean to say they’re bad or unworthy or anything, that goes against the point. they’re just there. in a position i can really relate to. they weren’t brought there to participate in the fight, they weren’t expected to contribute anything. they were just an art and story loving skull person bullied and eventually killed by their other half who deemed them not worthy of living
my all time favorite line in homestuck is what alt calliope told calliope prime
“live.”
calliope was just a normal, average person who was given a priceless treasure of life and was pulled with a loving hand to a life they never had and never thought they would have. there was no reason, no ulterior motive for it. nothing was expected of them. roxy just wanted to have them around. that’s all
for many years i wondered if it was necessary for me to be there at all. what was the point of my existence? when it all came raining down on me of my failings and fundamental weaknesses that is what i wondered. i wondered if i was any good to anybody, to the world itself. but then i found an answer in roxy’s gift to calliope. i didn’t have to. it was not my own intention to be born but i am here anyway. no one else will live my life for me. even if i live for the satisfaction for other people they will not care for my life from a to z
i don’t know how it’s like for people living elsewhere but over here, the more i grew up the more ridiculous i found my former education. everything was on a principle of competition. when you did the college entrance exams one win for you is a loss for someone else. the same could be said about job oppoturnities, running a business, buying snacks at the cafeteria, everything. isn’t that absurd? there’s so many people in the world, were we born only to snatch potential and future away from others? why was success so encouraged if the point of it was to make others unhappy?
maybe some will choose to live by that. that doesn’t mean i have to. i’m only one person, but also i’m a whole person. there were so many meetings, so many words, so much music and art, so much kindness that took me here. my bones struggled to grow into what they are now. when i look back at the last 21 years of life it has been a lot. it might not mean that much to anyone else. but it does to me. that’s the only thing that matters. i’m pretty sure i’ll never lead a successful business or work in an export company that pays in us dollar. that’s all the adults told me that really mattered. but that’s only what they said. i truly can go anywhere. any decision is for me to make
i’m just an average person. i’m really nothing significant to the universe. but i am significant to certain people. and most importantly i am significant to myself. i mean is the universe gonna pay for my groceries? i don’t live to stand by a ruler everyday measuring my worth to society or some people i never even met. if the world says i’m not worthy of living i’ll flip it off and keep doodling karkats because goddamn do i love doing it and i love being happy

Crisis On Infinite Earths #2
Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
We start at the dawn of man where Anthro, the first Cro-Magnon man, is attempting to divert a herd of woolly mammoths (“serpent-noses”) from trampling his village.
While diverting the herd, Anthro shudders over the thought of Embra, his pregnant wife, giving birth to a girl: “Embra would never have a daughter…would she?”
I’m rooting for Embra to give birth to a girl. Go, Embra, go!
Congratulating himself on saving the village: “A hero? I am, aren’t I? Maybe the biggest hero the bear tribe ever…” *Klunk* Anthro is taken out by a tree branch. “It was a long beast or a serpent! He hit me when I wasn’t looking! Face me now, animal! Anthro is a hero!” As Anthro makes threats to non-existent attackers he catches a glimpse of a futuristic city. Anthro notices the herd of woolly mammoths have disappeared.
I fell in love with Anthro here. He was such a lovable dork.
We move on to the 30th century where the Legion of Super-Heroes are searching for Dawnstar. They also have to contain a rampaging herd of woolly mammoths that disappear as soon as they appeared.
The Science Police tell the Legion to call Brainiac 5. The Legion calls Brainy. He informs his team that the missing Dawnstar and wooly mammoths are the least of their concerns: “There’s anti-matter energy moving toward the earth from somewhere I still can’t determine! Enough energy to destroy not only us but the universe!”
Back to present day Gotham City as Batman battles the Joker. The Joker has murdered Harold J. Standish III because he wanted ownership of the millionaire’s copyrights. The fight is interrupted by the Flash who is requesting aid: “…Help me! Help someone…anyone! Please…Please…can’t you see the world? I…It’s dying all around me! Iris…Dying…the world is dying…may already be dead…save us…save us…save us…”
An unnerved Joker orders Batman to inform the Flash that he has no jurisdiction in Gotham City. The Joker has a hissy when Batman doesn’t order Barry to leave: “You caped and corpses-to-come have some sort of secret reciprocal deal, don’t you?”
What’s this? A Batman that treats his fellow heroes with respect instead of acting like a territorial douchebag for no reason? Shocking!
Batman pleads with Barry: “Where are you, Flash? I can help rescue you.”
The Flash disintegrates as Batman watches in horror. The Joker escapes in the confusion, fanboying over Batman’s detective skills.
This section makes me miss editor’s notes. Batman thinks about the Flash’s recent disappearance - Bam! - Editor’s note refers to you to Flash #350 so you can check out that story if you wish. Little corner in the bottom of the panel - why is that so hard for modern comics to accomplish?
Picking up where we left at the end of last issue: The Monitor explains to his assembled team the reason for this gathering. “Already more than one thousand universes have died.” Seriously? It took the death of a thousand universes to get your butt in gear? I would have thought the death of one universe would have been sufficient.
The Monitor’s explains the process: “The Anti-Matter force once more shatters the dimensional barriers…expanding outward, engulfing one universe and then another. Destroying all life…and hope. First your worlds will feel nature’s wrath as your planets cry out in agony…Worlds in upheaval: Earthquakes, volcanic disturbances, floods which will crush your coast-line cities like so many twigs beneath your feet.”
Firestorm rightfully calls out the Monitor for selling weapons to various villains for the past year. I mean, that is a strange course for saving the universe. The Monitor appeared in various issues before the Crisis mini-series as a weapons dealer for the bad guys. It was foreshadowing for the Crisis series along with the red skies that appeared in various comics.
Harbinger angst: “I will stand at your side…Yet why do I feel as I do? A force, and energy…burning inside me?”. Probably because of the shadow thing that possessed one of your duplicates last issue.
Psimon steps up, talks trash, and is smacked down by the Monitor.
Superman, as elder statesman, tells everybody to calm down and listen - the fate of the multi-verse is at stake: “I suggest, however, we hear him out. If he’s telling the truth, we’ll save our worlds. If he’s lying, no power exists that can defeat us all.”
I miss sane elder statesmen who restore order as opposed to team leaders who let a situation escalate out of control while a cosmic level threat is bearing down on the planet. I’m looking at you A vs X’s Captain America, Cyclops, and Wolverine. Save the universe first, pissing contests later.
The Monitor reveals he’s splitting the group into five teams so they can activate his machines in five different time periods.
Harbinger continues to angst: “I am unable to resist him. And I am forced to obey his commands. Forgive me…though you have been my father and more…I now betray you.” Monitor, meanwhile, is aware of her betrayal and that she will be the cause of his death. Maybe they should consider talking to each other? Poor communication kills!
The Guardians of Oa are on the verge of completing (again) the Green Lantern Corps. However: “No, Guardians…It’s too late. You shall no more summon your soldiers than prove a threat to my plans. What began with you so many centuries ago…ends with you now!!!” *SKRAAAAAA!* Huge explosion and unconscious guardians. How many threats to the universe have the Guardians created at this point? We have the Manhunters, the voice holding the grudge, later on its Parallax. Maybe the Guardians should be neutered for the sake of the universe?
A shaken Batman summons Supeman (Earth-1) to discuss his vision of the Flash. Superman arrives late as had to deal with an unexpected volcanic eruption in the Mediterranean. Remember, the Monitor warned earlier that natural disasters were the first sign the Crisis was nearing your planet.
Pariah briefly appears to repeat his gloom and doom mantra.
Batman and Superman share a look that all but says “Do you know this emo freak?”
Bruce notes: “He said the earth was dying. That’s what Flash said. What’s going on here?”
On to Kamandi’s world. For those unfamiliar with Kamandi - think Planet of the Apes. Animals have become the sentient rulers and humans are hunted. Kamandi is investigating a huge tower that has suddenly materialized. Kamandi encounters Superman (Earth-2), King Solavar, and Dawnstar. Kamandi recognizes Superman as he has met Earth-1 Superman. Kamandi is initially fearful of Solovar due to the political situation of his planet. Shadow demon attack! Solovar is wounded defending Kamandi.
Harbinger apparently rescued the Luthor baby from the abandoned JLA headquarters. Lyla checks on him only to discovers he aged up to childhood.
Arion, Obsidian, and Psycho-Pirate travel to pre-sunken Atlantis circa 40,000 year in the past. We meet Lady Chian, Arion’s love interest. Pariah appears, Psycho-Pirate uses his abilities to make Pariah laugh. Pariah acts like it’s a fate worse than death. You would think after his eternal suffering emo act he would appreciate a few moments of levity.
Psycho-Pirate attacks the Atlanteans only to be stopped by Arion and Obsidian. Psycho-Pirate disappears in a flash of light. A mysterious voice tells the Pirate he will “serve me as I demand”.
The Monitor is frustrated by the disappearance of Psycho-Pirate: “My dear, I needed him more than either Obsidian or Arion. The menace we deal with is one of emotion”. Equally frustrating for the Monitor is his inability to find Raven: “I can find no trace of her. If she is on this earth, everything about her has been changed.”
I’m mentally trying to sync up the Teen Titans storylines with the Crisis. Teen Titans was one of my main titles in the 1980s but it has been over 20 years since Crisis on Infinite Earths. I know we’re past the Judas Contract and Donna’s wedding and pre-Starfire’s return to her planet. I can’t remember if the second battle with Trigon has occurred yet – the one where Raven becomes red and four-eyed and ensnares the Titans in their worst nightmares. It would explain the “changed” life if the Crisis is happening during or in the immediate aftermath of the Trigon battle.
Finally: “Lyla, my dear, get me the file on the new Dr. Light! It is time for me to create her!”
Pariah reveals more of his origin: “No, not from this earth, but another…the first that fell when this insanity began. But long after I was cursed for an evil act I had committed. A deed I have paid for a thousand times over, and must suffer still a thousand times more. I witness tragedy and my being here means disaster is soon to strike.” Pariah mentioned his “great sin” last issue too.
Pariah:
1) From the first universe to die in the Crisis. How long ago did the Crisis begin? The Monitor noted earlier that over one thousand universes have perished – has this taken months, years, decades?
2) Survived the Crisis but committed a horrendous act “long after”.
3) Someone very powerful cursed him to suffer for eternity.
Pariah finishes his “woe is me” speech by noting “Anti-matter will sweep throughout this universe. In a matter of hours from now, your earth will die!”
Arion, Obsidian, and the Atlanteans look to the sky and witness the arrival of the anti-matter wave.
Another awesome issue. George Perez’s art is gorgeous as usual. Marv Wolfman’s writing is terrific. He’s handling a huge cast of characters and nailing it. The big crossover events aren’t my thing, I find most to be average at best but Crisis is amazing.
The issue ends with the possessed Harbinger reporting to they mysterious man in black.
I continue to miss aspects from this era of comics: editor’s notes, sound effects, heroes working together instead of mindlessly brawling, c-list and obscure characters (my favorite type), and the sheer scope of the DC multiverse. Bonus points for the amount of content packed into a single issue.

Vriska Serket's page on the Villians Wiki, according to InferKit
Vriska Serket is one of the main characters and anti-villainess in Andrew Hussie's webcomic Homestuck. She is portrayed as intelligent, beautiful, foul-mouthed, and very manipulative.[1] She is an alternate universe version of Hussie himself.[2] In the 2012 The Internet Adventure "The Melancholy of Sans", she is revealed to have led the events that brought about the collapse of the Scratch, the collective unconscious of the internet.[3] She serves as the ruler of the Serpent Republic,[4] and is voiced by series co-creator Andrew Hussie.[5]
Storyline [ edit ]
In the story, Vriska is the female half of the dual protagonist of the Homestuck universe, the genocidal teenager Vriska mott morn. As the character reveals, she discovered that her mother was his ex-girlfriend in high school,[6] the sister of his male counterpart Vriska Vruk, and he named her his girlfriend. She became his mother through the union, and his best friend by the time they had hit their pre-teens. Throughout his early life, she played a constant role in his life, helping him deal with bullies and other drama, and teaching him more about modern society and his people. After Vriska had faked her own death, Vriska Vruk went on to pursue his own interest, becoming a master of aeronautics. When he failed to show up in time for his interview for Vriska's job as the ship builder for the Great Beefberger Chickenberg, her bodyguard, James, persuaded the girl that her brother had taken her. Using the old wings in a closet, James successfully flew to Vriska's house, with him and Vriska talking in the spaceship's cockpit and getting hit with a blast of Windy Wind. When Vriska awoke, she found herself in her own bedroom, and her memories of the past three years came back, albeit with odd gaps. She had no idea how she got there, or how she was able to control the cockpit, and she became obsessed with discovering who was behind the sudden appearance of her dead brother and why. She used her computer, eventually discovering her identity as the founder and ruler of the Serpent Republic. She became increasingly irate that her brother had managed to usurp her role as his sister's leader, and it took some persuading for her to believe that the flight with James was real. She originally tried to convince James to fly to his sister's house, but changed her mind after the latter asked if they were going to be very far from home. She decided to fly to James' house, where she set up a tripwire to either kill or have her brother trapped, believing that this would mean that she was free to reclaim her position as his sister.
After arriving, Vriska discovered a massive change in her brother's personality. He now had a daughter with the teenager whom she had jilted years before, and used her as his sole caretaker. The girl, Vriska Serket, quickly grew into a young woman, with James becoming the only male influence in her life. Vriska discovered the mott morn event, after watching the pilot program for new features on the test servers, and decided to join Vriska's army, becoming her second in command. She tried to force her brother's resignation and use his position to start a war against the Garganta.[7]
As the story progresses, Vriska gradually realizes the truth behind her brother's death, and decides to finish the war, starting a civil war with the Heirs and the Heap. She becomes more and more self-righteous and obsessed with total victory, almost declaring war on the entire universe by the time of the Homestuck game, only stopping at killing Terezi. During the war, the Garganta invasion occurred, and the Outcasts emerged from it victorious, killing most of the Serpent forces and heading to Vriska's palace. Her brother became a captive in the Heap, and as the battles progressed, she tried to kill him with a massive siege rocket, only to discover he had already been killed. As the rest of the Heap succeeded in taking the palace, she surrendered, only to be taken into the Ghoul Wasteland by her former lover Vriska, who used Vriska's temporary sanity as bait for the Garganta's attack, quickly defeating him and escaping with Vriska Serket to go on their way.

LADIES AND GENTS DID YOU SAY “MALLEUS FLAWS” ??? BECAUSE AS A SIMP WHO OVER-ANALYZE MALLEUS’ LINES I AM HERE FOR YOU 🥴🥴🥴 don’t worry it’s not a 5k words essay,
Malleus is a character that contradicts himself in his words, thinking himself more mature and controlled than others but in reality being one of the most short-tempered characters who doesn’t realize that it’s not because he’s a Fae that he’s automatically more mature than the other dorm leaders
———————————
1. “The people around me are more naive than me but I don’t acknowledge that I’m just as naive.”
The immediate exemple that comes to my head is his behavior with Yuu (yes yes, I know some people are done with hearing about Malleus and Yuu but hear me out—)
There are multiple times in the main story where Malleus calls Yuu a naive person in the game and seems to laugh at them a lot about it
Translations from Otome-Ayui and Shel_BB on YouTube
Chapter 3-37
Chapter 5-48
In general he very much has the « How curious. » attitude with things concerns humans, and with other characters too. In the way that he talks, and with his usual smile, it very much gives the impression that he talks to humans respectfully, but that does not mean he sees them as equals.
But funnily enough, Malleus may be a fae but he’s just as much of a late teen as the other third years.
His own naivety and inexperience about the outside world. The events in Silk City are a big proof of that. And he learned a lot of things he didn’t know at all through this event.
« Should I light a fire in the car ? »
« I thought a dragonfruit was a fruit that breathed fire. »
« What is a GPS ? »
Lilia very much points out in personal stories that Malleus is someone who actually doesn’t know everything and still needs to learn things, that he’s still young, and this is why he’s in NRC to humble him down.
« Malleus. It's useless to hide it from me. My Lord has grown up splendidly in the Valley of Thorns as a ruler. However, you are still young and also have things you do not know of. Academic knowledge is not the only thing to be learning. Why do you think you left the Valley of Thorns ? » - Lilia, Malleus’ Ceremonial Robes personal story.
So: dragon boy needs learning instead of going « fufu naive hooman. »
———————————
2. Temper tantrums, violent tendencies, and threats.
I’m sure we’re all aware of that. Malleus is quite short-tempered, I don’t know if he can be considered as short-tempered as Riddle, but that doesn’t make it less bad because Malleus can still get violent.
There are multiple points in personal stories and events where we see Malleus get angered:
- Rook’s PE personal story
- Scary Monsters event
I know I could also say that moment he got disappointed at the beginning at the Scalding Sands event because he thought Jamil was implying that he wasn’t wanted. But he was not really ‘angry’ by the looks of it, but yeah, more disappointed. And most of all at this moment he had came to a fast conclusion on what Jamil was saying 💀
1. Rook’s PE personal story is one of my favorite personal stories, and that because I love seeing two of my favorite characters -the lovely fellow french man and beloved dragon- interact. But of course, it’s also because it’s also because we see Malleus getting actually angered and observe the things he says when on his nerves. In this personal story, Rook ask Malleus questions on if a fairy is closer to an animal and compares him to some animals out of curiosity.
2. Scary Monsters is probably the point where Malleus has gotten the most violent in the game so far. In Ramshackle when two mobs disrespected him, by calling him a “it” and one of them slapping his arm. In his anger he decided to use magic.
What can we get from these moments ?
In his anger Malleus tends to lose his will to argument. If something/someone disappoints or anger Malleus he will use threats more specifically threats linked to his skills and magic (« Comparing dragons and lizards. . . Do you want to get struck by lightning ? » « If I breath fire you’ll be blown away. » « I see. . . I will give you the terror of your life ! » « Let me go Lilia ! I have to reduce them to ashes ! »)
————————————
I think the fact that Malleus is short-tempered and that if something doesn’t go his way he will use his strong magic privilege as threats could be something to be brought up in chapter 7. Who knows.
While Malleus’ loneliness could be a good thing to talk about in chapter 7. I think his problematic side with his violent tendencies would be good to brought up too.
————————————
Anyway, thanks for reading that very messy essay 👉👈😳
As a Malleus Stan, I noticed that Malleus is the only character I know who obviously has flaws but its hard to notice. Somebody on Youtube claims that Malleus has a flaw, but I want to know if you also know what flaws he had. I want to know more about him, even his bad points.
Well 🤔 flaws aren’t necessarily going to be big ones or something. They can be small things that add more to a character’s personality. For example, Malleus is quick to anger. He was easily provoked by Leona’s insults in his robe SR after all, and he was pissed off in the last event when Jamil was going to refuse him to come to the trip. Another could be his lack of knowledge over how common things work and how common folk live. Then this other character flaw which I can’t phrase properly right now, but I can give you the quote more or less (“I wish I got to see Ashengrotto’s face when he was despairing”).
But hey, these flaws aren’t to diss Malleus’ character. In fact, they make him a much more memorable character who I’d love to explore more on!!
#twisted wonderland#malleus draconia#twst malleus#twst#berry says random things#talking about Malleus’ character is my favorite pass time#my mutuals know that very well#I’m sorry to everyone in the Cursed TWST discord server who has to suffer through my Malleus essays#the organization of this post is actually kinda messy btw#but the facts about Malleus are laid down so it’s still good I suppose#I’m not a professional at making essays help

Mobile Master Post
Here’s all the general info you’ll need for this blog in a post for easy reading on mobile, a mirror of my information page save for the FAQ, Tags, and Connections sections.
Rules & Guidelines
General Rules
This is a side blog. All follows/likes/asks will come from Ash-mun. I prefer to have all of my RP blogs on one blog separate from my main account for organization purposes.
The usual: Read rules, avoid godmoding and metagaming. We're human, mistakes happen and things are forgotten but please do keep these things in mind and keep reading!
Respect the line between IC and OOC. If you can't understand that the actions and thoughts of a muse are separate from the reality of who the mun is or what they believe? Please don't interact with me.
This blog is semi-selective. That means I'm selective with who I follow, but welcome all in my ask box unless otherwise tagged on a post. I am open to giving anyone a chance to RP. I'll give you a heads up if I don't think we'll mesh.
OC, Multi-ship, Multi-fandom friendly. I'm here for the interaction and seeing what sort of stories our muses can create.
I do not ERP. I am 300% okay with discussing sexual headcanons, having my muse engage in sexual situations behind the scenes, writing sexual drabbles, or such but I will not smut with other RPers.
Mun and muse are over 21+ I'm okay with interacting with muns who are under 18, but I refuse to do anything bordering on the sexual with an underage mun/muse.
No formatting required for me, as long as I can read it? We're good.
I'm up for any sort of RP length, but I'm prone to lengthier posts as a whole. No, you don't need to match my posts. I'm here for quality, not quantity.
If it's been over a week and you haven't seen a response to a thread? Please remind me of it! I try to keep track of all my threads, but sometimes things get lost in the shuffle.
I am not a meme source. Please don't use me as a source of RP memes, it's a pet peeve of mine.
Tag request: NSFW Please tag your NSFW posts as simply NSFW. I often browse in public and Tumblr's default tag system is how I block this content.
I unfollow for the following reasons, if you're curious as to why it might happen: Untagged smut, not trimming threads, untagged OOC spam, blogs who give no indication of wanting to actively engage, using me only as a source of RP memes (This'll most likely get a soft block).
I'm not on here every day and reply in batches. I'm prone to do most of my writing in chunks when work is calmer, thus I queue my responses so the dash isn't spammed.I have a job that drains my energy, so more often than not when I'm home? I'm zoning out with games/tv/art over writing anything. I have to reiterate that work is mentally draining along with all my fun chronic issues, so there will be chunks of time where I simply can't muster the energy for writing. If you're looking for someone lurking here constantly with rapid fire responses? It isn't me.
Non-RP related but, if you promote transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, or anything harmful that falls under general discrimination laws? Fuck off. Problematic characters and baddies are fine and dandy as long as you're not celebrating any of the above through your character.
VLD Specific Rules
No shipping with underage muses, I'm not comfortable shipping a legal adult with a child.
Please tag your ships. There are some VLD ships I'm not into, and I suspect the same is true of others. Tag those ships with the universal ship tags and I'll do likewise!
Yes, non-RP blogs can follow.
Yes, my headcanons and artwork can be reblogged.
I'm not interested in fandom drama. I don't care about the shipping feuds, petty RP squabbles or any such thing. I'm here to write, thank you.
Voltron: Legendary Defenders Season 6 spoilers will be on this blog. I'm slow to watch new episodes when they drop, so no one following the series will be spoiled but- If you haven't watched anything yet? This blog will spoil content!

Overview
An assumed orphan raised within the Galra Empire as one of Haggar's Druids, Osera has lived a life in obscurity behind a mask and robes knowing nothing about her true parentage and past and nothing beyond glory for the Galra Empire.
Personality
Positives/Virtues/Skills: Loyal, soft spoken, hard to anger, driven to serve the Empire, solitary and finds no issue with isolation, studious, inquisitive
Flaws/Weaknesses: Black and white morality, neuroticism and easily overwhelmed by outside stimuli, indecisive without an authority figure
Likes: Quiet spaces, cavernous ships and settlements, secret Space Mall visits, exotic and/or spicy foods
Dislikes: Overtly loud places due to her sensitive ears, unease in natural places due to a lack of time in them, the bland food she gets on ship
Dreams/Ambitions: Furthering her training to the point of mastering her Druid powers, discovering the identity of her parents.
Fears: The current state of the Galra Empire and what is to become of it. Osera doesn't know who to trust or what faction to turn to as being a Druid puts her in the cross-hairs of many. A general unease in the wilderness as Osera has next to no survival skills planet side as she’s never needed them. Osera has never been in a body of water larger than a tub, thus even the concept of an ocean scares her. She doesn’t exactly know how to.
History
Childhood/Family Life: Osera has only memories of foster parents within the Galra Empire, raising her for a brief time before she was transferred off for training as a Druid due to her magic potential.
Education: Osera has been training under the Galra Empire as a Druid to serve under Zarcon for almost as long as she can remember along with typical education for a Galran youth. Life to Osera has been a constant drive for self improvement to serve the Galra Empire better. Being a reserved child that carried over to her teenage years, Osera has kept her head down with little to speak of as far as incidents of note go. Her late teen years saw a ramping up in more combat oriented training typical for Galra soldiers, but it was a place Osera faltered as she leans heavily on her Druid abilities. Still, such training did eventually gain her a promotion from a stint on a Space Hub converting quintessence to one serving on Lord Zarkon’s ship itself.
Combat Prowess
Weapon of Choice: Osera has some training with a simple dagger, but nothing to really speak of as it seems to be more a ceremonial accessory as oppose to a true weapon.
Physical/Magical Strengths: Her true strength is with her Druid abilities with not much to speak of with general hand to hand combat beyond that of an average person.
Physical/Magical Weaknesses: Osera isn't exactly the physically strongest creature about, nor is she well versed in true physical combat. Constant use of her magic abilities drains Osera unless she has a quintessence source at hand.
Verses & AUs
Season Specific Verses: These tags are specific for plots either happening during the actions of that particular season or right after with the intent of staying in line with canon. For the majority of the seasons, Osera is living on Lord Zarkon's flag ship in service to Haggar. She keeps up with Druidic studies along with interrogating prisoners and aiding in quintessence conversion. Once Zarkon passes, Osera follows tradition and serves under the one who won the Kral-Zera. Once Lotor goes missing, her fate is up in the air at the start of S7.
No Sanctuary - Fugitive Verse: At the death of Lord Zarkon by his own son, the Galra Empire is in upheval with a Kral Zera on the horizon to determine the new leader of the Galra. During this time, Haggar's Druids are left to their own devices but since the collective was never truly a part of the Empire and all are considered the Witches' minions? They are slaughtered wholesale as creatures never to be trusted.Osera manages to escape during this chaos and finds herself adrift in a galaxy she knows little about. She's left any Druid guise far behind and seeks to blend in as nothing of interest to anyone, hoping to avoid the Galra's faction scuffle.
His Faithful Follower - Lotor’s Empire Verse : Once Price Lotor wins the Kral-Zera and cements his claim as the rightful ruler of the Galra Empire. A new era begins where Lotor wishes to usher in peace for the entire universe with the help of Voltron and its Paladins. Sendak may be trying to sow mutiny and win Galra to his side, but with Lotor Osera has found a safe haven as a half-breed. She is uncertain of what the future will bring, but believes in Lotor's plan to unite the universe.
A Sharpened Blade - Blade of Marmora Verse : Lord Zarkon's death at the hands of his own son was enough to shake Osera out of her complacent life as a Druid. She no longer can blindly follow orders at the bidding of Haggar and finds no welcoming place within the evolving Empire for a Druid such as herself. The unrest that followed Lord Zarkon's death revealed the true state of the universe and Osera can no longer sit idly by while everything breaks apart. She first ventured out on her own before gaining a lead to the Blades of Marmora and after proving herself, she's taking up training as one.
A Softer Purple - No War AU : The tragedy of Honerva's poisoning and resulting death never comes to pass. The brilliant Altean alchemist harnesses and contains the ever growing space rift on the Galra's home planet, along with taming quintessence. Voltron continues to be a force for good within the universe, spreading the Altean message of good faith far and wide as various species venture further in space. The Garrison is now a place where students from many planets of origin study and brush up on space travel. Osera is a student enlisted there, having grown up on Earth all her life with her parents.
Courtly Vices - Royalty AU : Set in a fantasy realm, the Galra Empire, Druid Collective, and Voltron Paladins are their own respective factions trying to mediate peace. Formerly, the Druid Collective was a close ally with the Galra Empire but the antics of Prince Lotor has brought unrest between the factions. To obtain a better foothold and stabilize their power, the Druid Collective has bartered one of their own Druids off as a bride to the Yellow Paladin. Osera finds herself wed to a stranger and none too happy about it.

Liliana, Crumbling Oppressor
Let’s move on to another one of the nu-Origin five walkers, one that takes on the role of Persecutor in our Karpman Drama Triangle. Here we dive into the seriously mentally ill persona of Liliana Vess, whom I can find numerous mental health parallels in history, most notably in John Nash, the famous Mathematician. In order for the Drama Triangle to arise, a person must take on the role of Victim or Persecutor. Our first example of this occurrence is between our focus character, Liliana, and future Victim, Jace Beleren. Persecutors typically blame everyone else for everything, insisting something is their fault. Persecutors are typically controlling (Liliana has successfully bent the Gatewatch to her desires), blaming, critical, oppressive, angry and superior (we know Liliana has a serious god complex stemming from her dabbling in the dark arts). Each participant in this triangle takes on their role by acting upon their own selfish needs – something Liliana has done since day 0.
Let’s begin.
Liliana grew up on the most important (arguably) plane in the multiverse, Dominaria. Her father was a general and ruler, possibly for the Forward Order (a load of chaps fighting some dark force, possibly Belzenlok’s cabal). She had a name for herself as a bit of a hussy (that’s slang for hoe), and because of daddy’s extremely high ranking profile, this would inevitably bring on family meetings of “you’re bringing shame to my name”. Liliana cared little of her reputation, so from her absolute origins, we’re told she pretty much doesn’t care about anyone or anything other than herself. We also discover she’s a somewhat gifted sorceress/wizard whatever you want to classify her as. Possibly a cleric, I guess? She learned the healing arts from a lass called Lady Ana, similar to Gideon’s Hixus, however being the blasé cleric that she was, she thought necromancy would assist in her healing career. It’s an odd parallel to draw between two opposites but then I know nothing of the dark arts or restoration so who am I to judge her conclusions. She wanted a shortcut to be better, because that’s just Liliana. The shortest and simplest solution is always best, a self-destructive behaviour that will follow her and essentially rule her life from this point onwards.
Her father’s enemies corrupted her brother Josu with some sort of curse. Now this is where a crackpot theory comes in. If indeed her father’s enemies were the cabal under the rule of Belzenlok, then it ties one of Liliana’s four demons into her storyline long before she makes her pacts with them. One might posit that Liliana’s life had already been woven by a scheme spanning her entire life. This leads her to a test by Lady Ana, which in turn leads her to the Raven Man. That leads her to Bolas, who then brokers the deals with her four demons, including Belzenlok, which then follows on to the Chain Veil storyline where the Raven Man then takes charge of her future interests. So whose scheme is Liliana’s life led by? Bolas, or this mysterious Lim DulRaven Man? Anyway, Lady Ana tells her she needs to acquire Esis root to cure her brother. Her father’s enemies have conveniently burned down the grove where this tree grows.
She learns this when a curious man appears with the information. He then encourages Liliana to use her necromantic powers to revive the tree and make a potion out of it. Seems legit. It is at this point we can conclude Liliana is quite young and naïve, since undoubtedly a present day Liliana would have easily seen past this and probably let her brother die before raising him as a servant. Unfortunately Liliana loves her shortcuts, and loves to prove people wrong, so despite warnings from Lady Ana, she uses it on her brother. It cures him, but basically turns him into a shambling horror.
Pause.
A late teens early twenties girl, with little to no care for reputation or anyone but herself, zero desire for strict rules and guidelines, has taken her first massive shortcut. This in turn has forced her to witness her own family in a state of undeath, then forcing her to kill said undead brother. This is akin to you saying “damn the doctors” and giving your big sister cancer with the “best intentions”, then being forced to euthanize her. That is entirely fucked up, and very much easy to gloss over as a reader interpreting fantasy fiction. She sparks, and ends up on Innistrad – plane of zombies, stitched abominations and general gloom and doom horror. If any plane epitomises a person’s past nightmares, it is a perfect fit for Liliana. But she embraces it instead of running away. Despite her trauma she remains headstrong, it seems.
She studies under vampires and liches, becomes a master necromancer, but she stops short. They recommend she joins them in death fully to master necromancy, but the trauma of what her brother became stops her from fully committing to her path. She is not entirely without sense, and like Tezzeret, is living life by pure instinct for survival.
Eventually Sorin discovers she’s on Innistrad, and Sorin is a very old, very powerful and very solitary planeswalker that suffers no fools. He utterly stomps Liliana, to the point he deems her too paltry a threat to deal with. He allows her to be a guest on his home plane and play nice, or he’ll kill her. Just ask Nahiri how that goes. So the plane she’s adopted as her home is now yet another metaphorical set of rules that will remind her of her father. She returns to Dominaria after she’s confident she’s powerful enough to take on the Raven Man, but he miraculously escapes. Yet another failure for Vess.
Between then and Ravnica, it’s revealed that the mending happened, and Liliana is no longer all powerful, or immortal. Being the vain, shortcut taker that she is, she mixes up with Bolas and brokers a deal with a demon for more power. She uses that deal to make another, and another until her soul is eventually beholden by no more than four demons. In exchange for youth and power, she must serve the demons, and this is where she gets her tattoos from, eternally reminder her and everyone else that Liliana sold her soul for life eternal.
After some time, Liliana becomes mixed in with Bolas’/Tezzeret’s Infinite Consortium, sort of as a freelancer I suppose. After Jace defects from the group, Liliana is tasked with tracking him down. She befriends Jace and his accomplice Kallist (whom Jace will later swap consciousness with), and then has an affair with Jace. She stays loyal to Jace through a number of bizarre happenings, including ye olde consciousness swap story. It’s then revealed she was using Jace in order to remove Tezzeret as the leader of the Infinite Consortium. Liliana had sold her soul to Nicol Bolas of all people (just ask Tezzeret how that went), and this was one of her many tasks.
Liliana is altruistic. She dislikes rules and regulations, but now finds herself under the thumb of a 25,000 year old elder dragon planeswalker, and four demons that lay claim to her soul. In true Liliana fashion, she has ideas on how she can most easily escape said deals in the bluntest ways imaginable, but she hasn’t quite had the push to get her ego that big yet. Enter Kothophed and the Chain Veil.
Kothophed calls in a favour, and Liliana must obey. She’s sent to retrieve the Chain Veil, and ancient artifact from the now extinct Onnake civilisation on Shandalar. On her way, she’s attacked by one of Garruk’s Packleaders and kills it. My main man Garruk witnesses this, and decides she’s a target. Liliana retrieves the Veil and then Garruk attacks. Using the surprisingly powerful artifact, Liliana very easily sends Garruk on a Shandalar escape trajectory, and begins to muse at how much power is at her fingertips now. She wanders to a fortress on a random plane and utterly annihilates it, because the best way to test an artifact belonging to a race that is now entirely dead is to use it to wipe out another. She considers, and the urges to release herself from the thrall of Kothophed is too great, so she planeswalks and blast the demon to high hell. Her tattoos begin to bleed, which disturbs her somewhat. In true “simplest solution is best” she resolves that in order to make this pain stop, she’ll just kill the rest of her demons.
So, Liliana has gone from accidentally killing her brother with good intentions, to an egotistical maniac hell bent on returning her old power to her by any means necessary, even if it means permanently scarring her young but otherwise immortal body. That includes senselessly dispatching a demon that had a claim to your soul. Long term plans are not Liliana’s strong suit. Unlike Bolas, Liliana is a very short sighted, short term planner. What makes Liliana different from every other oldwalker is that she simply wants to be left alone to her own devices. While she doesn’t initially crave for the rule of planes or infinite power and wiping out all other rivals, she does want to live forever and be beautiful at that. She just wants to do what she wants as and when she decides to do it. Liliana Vess of origins is what we’d call a sociopath. Liliana Vess of post mending is what we call a psychopath. The key difference? Sociopaths don’t know what they’re doing is wrong. Psychopaths do, they simply don’t care.
Concerned by the bleeding of her tattoos, the Chain Veil, and her fate thus far, she returns to the plane of the Onnake. She resurrects the body of an old wise man who knew of them. The town is none too pleased with a necromancer, and do what any other old time populace would do: they chase her into a pile of wood (a barn) and burn it down. The man she raised begins speaking cryptic riddles about Liliana while preventing the flames from taking her. Just as she’s about to release her body to the sweet abyss, the corpse is revealed to actually be the Raven Man. He uses what appears to be the same potion as the one Liliana used on her brother, and her tattoos all turn the same colour and she is healed. In typical grateful Liliana fashion, she thanks the Raven Man by stabbing him and planeswalking away with the Chain Veil. I mean, stabbing your saviour is a bit of a dick move.
Liliana, enthralled by her experience decides to annihilate some more demons because she doesn’t have a better idea right now. She heads back to Innistrad to kill Griselbrand but can’t find him since he’s stuck in the Helvault. Garruk shows up and tries to splat her, but Innistrad isn’t short of local meatshields, so she sends a few dozen zombies to keep the guy occupied and escapes. At this stage Garruk is simply a nuisance in comparison to her other problems. Like a big, meaty bad penny with an axe the size of a tree. She heads to Thraben for answers while its under siege by the duo Gisa and Geralf. Mikaeus the Lunarch has already been killed in the battle, and so with her usual respect for the fallen, Liliana raises him from the dead to get her answers. She learns of the Helvault.
Flavourfully black cannot do anything to artifacts unless your name is Geth. It can however demand sacrifices. Liliana casts a spell that forces Thalia, the acting commander of the defence of Thraben, to either sacrifice her soldiers, or crack open a cold one the Helvault. Being the white-white character she is, Thalia smashes open the vault and all the demons (and Avacyn) are freed. Oh and Nahiri. Yeah, you can blame memerakul on Lilana kind of. Liliana tracks down big old G, slaughtering everything in her path (including angels, Liliana really hates angels). Using the Chain Veil, Griselbrand is no more. Easy? Nope.
The Chain Veil starts whispering to her, and this is when our all-powerful necromancer begins to remind me of the woes that beset John Nash. Now John Nash was a peculiar bloke in the beginning, but he was also a mathematical prodigy. This led him to massive success in his field, but the guy strived for more. Eventually people began approaching him for some pretty wild and exotic uses of his services, and wanting more to his life than occasionally teaching and working on cryptography, he agreed. This went on for many years, until eventually he was committed. It turned out that all these years, he had been working for people in his mind, doing jobs that didn’t exist, even imagining up his own roommate who he talked to and about to others frequently. He was utterly convinced that these people were real for years. Imagine having a best friend for a decade and then being told he didn’t exist. After stints in an out of psychiatric help, he maintained his sharp intelligence, but was besieged on a daily basis by his own brain, trying to convince him these people were real and these tasks he wanted to work on were a fabrication. Now, John Nash wasn’t aware of this until somebody else told him and convinced him. He had work colleagues, doctors, and a wife. Liliana has nothing, nobody. She’s hearing voices from the Chain Veil, she keeps seeing this Raven Man, so she’s convinced that the spirits in the Veil are real, and the Raven Man is some kind of planeswalking capable asshole of some kind. Like John Nash, Liliana is powerful, driven, and convinced of herself.
She heads back to Shandalar to find her own answers. She’s then confronted by an angel guarding the entrance and basically melts the thing, all the while it mumbles than Liliana has become a vessel of the Onnake spirits wanting to release themselves. She then has a vision of the Onnake’s extinction event, again seeing the Raven Man as an architect of their destruction. She indicates to the spirits talking to her that she’d quite like to learn such a spell. Her cockiness only grows from this point. She reaches the alter where she found the veil, but her own body refuses to put it back. She raises an Onnake skeleton to obey her command to return the artifact, but it also refuses to comply. Upon de-animating the skeleton, it throws the veil back onto her. By now Liliana should probably recognise when her body is being hijacked. An Onnake spirit materialises in front of her and tells her she’s the vessel of the veil of deceit. She tries to kill the spirit using the Chain Veil, and at long last realises that the thing is slowly damaging her body. Mentally defeated, she planeswalks away. For once, Liliana accepts her fate. Briefly.
She heads back to Jace to manipulate her Victim once more, trying to persuade him to help her kill her two final demons. Back to that old chestnut. He’s angry with the way she dealt with Garruk at this stage however, as he and Nahiri have separately tried to help the cursed beast master. She invites Jace to dinner, but it’s interrupted by Gideon begging for help on Zendikar. Jace immediately accepts, and then Liliana moans how he’ll spare time for his friends but not his wife – in essence. She’s furiously jealous that somebody else can manipulate him to their every whim. Jace informs her bluntly, that Gideon asked nicely, whereas Liliana tried to seduce him. Liliana’s façade begins to crumble from here on, and when a chronically narcissistic person loses the power of their fake front, things begin to unravel. They begin to see a need to reaffirm their role to themselves and others. As a necromancer and narcissist, Liliana is beginning to develop a god complex, and the combined presence of the Chain Veil and the coming Emrakul are only too keen to feed it.
Back on Innistrad Liliana is sulking in her mansion. Jace tries to escape two werewolves after arriving on the plane, and Liliana uses some zombies to drive them off. Jace informs her that he’s searching for Sorin, and being a human of pure survival, Liliana warns Jace that that may not be such a good idea. Jace goes to the manor, goes a bit insane, and then returns to blame Liliana for everything that happened. He tries to break her brain a bit, but the Raven Man that is quite obviously inside her head protects her and tells her to kill Jace. As it happens, the Raven Man is quite afraid of Jace, because of course he’s a mind mage, and might find him lurking inside Liliana’s head should he delve too deeply. Liliana then tries to get some generic geistmage to exorcize the Onnake spirits from the Chain Veil with a witchbane orb, but unsurprisingly it does sweet F.A. Honestly at this point she’s desperate, and I think even she didn’t believe it would work, but she’s willing to try anything to escape attachments to anything. Vess just doesn’t like to be tied down, unless it’s with Jace’s cloak. Giggity.
Emrakul arrives, and the Gatewatch and Thraben are under attack by masses of Eldrazi horrors. Convincing herself that she doesn’t need Jace, Liliana tells herself that she needs the Gatewatch to need her, so that she can use them to kill her final two demons. Realistically both of these are true. She’s desperate, but also an Oppressor. A team of four young neo-walkers are probably just as easily impressed upon as she was when she was younger. Equally four mages with their own specialties are a handy tool for killing demons and not getting your hands too dirty. That is how an Oppressor sees these people – tools. Liliana raises a colossal army of zombies to drive back the horrors and Emrakul, she even thinks so highly of herself that she can take on the titan, calling herself Innistrad’s “Last Hope”. As it turns out, she quickly learns that the Chain Veil isn’t quite that powerful, and Emrakul begins to overpower her. The Chain Veil as well as the Raven Man pretty much begs her to escape with her life, thinking that they can’t possibly win against this thing. Multiple personality disorder aside, Liliana chooses her own fate. Miraculously Emrakul uses Tamiyo to seal herself into Innistrad’s moon and the whole group survives. Jace asks Tamiyo to join the Gatewatch (she thankfully declines) and instead, as second choice, they ask Liliana to join. That worked out well didn’t it Vess? She agrees to their childish terms, knowing full well she has no intention of following their code unless it happens to coincide with some demons.
Liliana is short on patience however, and has a subtle distaste for wasting time on things that don’t concern her. The Kaladesh story comes to fruition, and Liliana notes a possibly entry into the good books of the highly impressionable and entirely chaotic Chandra Nalaar. The arrival of Dovin Baan triggers Chandra’s fury at the Consulate on her home plane, and Liliana plays on it. She takes Chandra under her wing, concealing the usual Oppressor tendencies, and instead takes on a role of Rescuer. She encourages Chandra to share her story, and then tells Chandra she should take revenge on Baral, Emperor Palpatine style.
They come across Tezzeret and Liliana pretty much flips her lid. She tells Chandra that Tezz is dangerous (and we know he’ll do just about anything to survive, same as Liliana), and they need to retreat. The rest of the Gatewatch arrive and scald Liliana for flying off with Chandra so fleetingly. Not wanting to risk her importance in the group, she heads back to her favourite tool and vouch man Jace, convincing him and Gideon to come to Kaladesh. Basically Jace will stick up for her when she does Liliana things. Who needs to convince a team themselves when they can have the defacto leader do it for them?
They join forces with the rebel scumrenegades and take on the consulate, blowing up some ships, confronting Tezzeret in the arena, only to have him escape and rob all the inventions from the fair. Liliana dispatches some troops rather too permanently for Gideon, he moans, but she snaps back at him as though he were a naïve child. You were like him too Vess, at some stage. She says she needs to strike at Tezzeret directly, because he won’t fight fair. She reveals that she’s a little more than weak in the knees for Jace, and wants to hurt Sucker-T for hurting Jace all those years ago. Liliana has somehow grown empathy. She heads off with Saheeli and finds Rashmi, the creator of the planar bridge, and brings her back to the renegades. The Gatewatch are now aware that Tezzeret has interplaner travel tech.
She convinces Gids to let her take on Tezzeret, as a cunning distraction for the Gatewatch to destroy the Planar Bridge. Suddenly she opts to use undead minions to “scare away” the consulate soldiers instead of killing them, leading us to briefly believe she’s taking the Gatewatch’s non-lethal approach some serious consideration. She makes it to Tezzeret and they then commence the most underwhelming planeswalker battle in the history of Magic™. Tezzeret initially believes Bolas sent Liliana to check on his progress. He then informs him He then tells Liliana Bolas is hidden on Amonkhet, where her third demon Razaketh is located. Before she can finish him off, the Gideon-Chandra missile hits and blows the whole fucking spire to bits. Tezzeret escapes with the core of the planar bridge. Liliana then suggests they head straight to Amonkhet to take Bolas on without giving him chance to prepare. What she actually means is, come to this god forsaken plane so I can kill my demon and escape while you all get fisted by the most powerful (known) planeswalker in the multiverse.
On Amonkhet more Chain Veil shenanigans ensue. Liliana gets eaten by a giant worm, but reveals to the Gatewatch that she used the Chain Veil to decompose the worm from the inside. What actually happened was the Raven Man assumed control over her body to prevent her death, using the power of the Chain Veil to kill it. They come across the gods, and the city of Naktamun, and she takes note of the mummified servants. She also derides the gods, as the only gods she knew were hubristic planeswalkers. She should know, she was one of them pre-mending.
The Gatewatch continues with the story, while Liliana… gets fed grapes and uses the mummified servants to her advantage. The Raven Man returns, warning her that she had gotten soft. The voice inside her head has noticed her change from egotistical psychopath to egotistical psychopath with a developing conscience. Jace approaches and he vanishes again, hoping to avoid his cover being blown. They follow one of Liliana’s shades and discover Razaketh’s true involvement in the afterlife and the plane itself. The mummies set upon them and they escape.
The gate opens when the Second Sun rests between Bolas’ horned statue, and Razaketh is revealed. This demon is vastly more powerful than the previous two. He can assume direct control over Liliana’s body (it’s become the town bicycle at this point). It’s a brutal reminder that Liliana is never truly free until every person involved in her soul’s enslavement is ended. He toys with her, but the Gatewatch come to her aid. They distract her long enough to raise some undead crocodiles and tear apart and eat the demon. It’s noted viscerally that Liliana actively relishes the act of consuming the demon via the animals she has raised, and brings us back to the harsh reality that despite all the pretence, Liliana is still cracked mentally. Bolas appears, whips the Gatewatch’s collective asses, and gives Liliana the option to betray her friends and await his command, or die. Liliana is a being of selfish desires, but most importantly, the raw desire to simply survive. She escapes, with other members of the Gatewatch as witnesses to her betrayal. A harsh reminder that she is not allowed attachments to potential Rescuers, and any attempts to do so will be met by harsh consequences. It’s also a blunt reminder that she is still at the mercy of Bolas and her remaining demon, Belzenlok.
She planeswalks to Dominaria to kill her final demon. As a writer, I am fully aware that the death of Belzenlok may not yield the results she hopes; in fact things may only grow more complicated for our psychopathic Oppressor. She is so singularly focused on one goal; she cannot see the forest for the trees. The only solution to the actors of the Drama Triangle is to deprive them of their payoff. Liliana’s superiority is crumbling, her authority is waning in the face of multiple actors within the group, and the blame has shifted significantly since their encounter with Bolas. Liliana’s role as an Oppressor is coming to an end. Three solutions remains – she leaves the triangle as a better person, she becomes a Victim, or, most likely, she ceases living.
