hey it’s time for the monthly pulse-clockwork update that no one asked for. i originally gave myself a deadline of early june to finish at least the outline for the asian homestuck writeup, HOWEVER. vietnam was hit and is currently struggling with the 3rd covid wave, and my family and relatives were also affected to varying degrees. so my energy has been focused on uhhh Not Losing My Mind and getting on with more time sensitive stuff

i’m not sure how much people want updates on the writeup, either way the purpose of making this post is more to direct more attention to how you can help us, the whole country of vietnam, through this process. did you know first world countries possess 75% of the available vaccines for covid-19, and countries struggling the most with this 3rd wave are still mostly unvaccinated? in my grief i’ve been pleading again and again for anyone on the internet i can reach to pressure their first world gov to lift vaccine patents. while you’re doing that, vietnam now has a public fund anyone can donate to through bank transfer to cover costs for vaccines, medical supplies, living costs for quarantined neighborhoods, etc. if you’re interested in either spreading the information or donating, refer to this post:

i can’t stress this enough, for all the meager amounts of clout i might have, all that my platform is worth, i want it to be for this right now. it’s not just vietnam, south asia (especially india) and south east asia are struggling to not fall apart as new mutations cropped up, and we are mostly unvaccinated. direct the energy of your anger towards antimaskers and the cdc’s bullshit protocols to helping us. please. keep yourself informed, actually read the info and then spread it around, maybe organize in your own communities and donate anywhere you can verify if you’re able. thank you for reading

hey! since 413 is 47 minutes away in my timezone i think it's time to update y'all who are interested in the asian homestuck writeup thingy. i think i've gathered enough responses to start putting the thing together. i can't promise any dates yet, partly because i'm still recovering from unrelated life events, but i'll do my best to put the responses i got into something coherent that can... idk change people's mind or at least let them see from a perspective they didn't consider before

(nervous sweating hello new followers... i would like to preface that i’m a hs2 enjoyer so please do feel free to unfollow or block me if need be... just don’t tell me about it... i’ve received a death threat on this a while ago so i really don’t want to argue or justify myself to strangers abt this thank you for understanding)

first of all, thank you for the support on the asian homestuck call! <3 i’ve received a few responses already and it feels good. feels solid. i started this because i was frustrated with how invisible asian experiences and identities are in the fandom at large despite homestuck borrowing no small amount of asian media and pop culture, so it’s been great hearing from fellow asian peeps. i think it’s also important to iterate that this includes biracial people as well, i would love to hear from y’all.

second of all. this was started because of frustrations i’ve had for a few years and wasn’t made in light of the recent wave of asian hate crimes. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean it’s not related. asian people moving invisibly through western society has always existed, and as all problems it’s a systemic one. i have strong feelings on this as well as colonialism and imperialism on south east asian regions, being a vietnamese person.

if you’ve taken notice of this call, regardless of whether you’re asian or not, i hope i can implore you to educate yourself on the struggles asian people experience on a global scale, as well as the very complex conflicts and power dynamics between different asian regions and nations. please try to recognize the subtle racism and microaggression you might’ve adopted to your vocabulary. to take steps to stop asian hate, you first have to see us as individuals and respect our voices.

trc outo arc has my ASS this is an au where the strilondes are masked vigilantes defending a certain city from a “natural disaster” where the darkness of the moon manifests into creepy things on earth. karkat becomes acquainted with dave when the latter saves him from one of those. unfortunately he also gets infected and slowly corrupted by moon toxin and dave has to take him away from society (the strilondes are immune from moon toxin, they’re not exactly human either) to his home in an abandoned clock tower and wow i’m just now realizing how similar this is to Current Events
