every time i rewatch the miracle aligner music video i am just flabbergasted. FLABBERGASTED. like. they really chose to make it like THAT. and by 'like THAT' i am specifically referring to:

1) “an attempt to extract the truth... approximately" *cue rosepetals and intense eye contact*

2) THIS being the opening shot of the two of them

3) miles legitimately spending the first minute of the entire video blatantly checking alex out

4) literal rainbow lighting around them

5) endless hand holding and twirling

6) that moment where miles's hand reaches ever so reflexively for alex's neck

7) the fucking closing scene?????????

i love everything they gave us with maria's character in shadow gens because not only has it made her a much more interesting character, but it's also strengthened how much she and sonic would for sure get along

shes brave and isnt afraid to speak her mind!! i loved her standing up to black doom, the fact that she had the courage to yell at him like that really shows her character. we can also see her standing up for shadow when abe calls him a monster in one of the cut dark beginnings scenes.

and tied in with that is that she finds the unknown and things others would probably find scary or offputting to be interesting!! her parents were worried about sending her to space but she just thought it was cool! and rather than being scared, she finds white space interesting!

and that alongside her talking about the aurora borealis in dark beginnings, and her dialogue about their teacher, we can tell that she also had that scientist-like curiosity and love for knowledge that the rest of her family has :) it makes you wonder what she would've ended up doing if she had gotten to grow up...

i just really like the further details we've gotten, as it honestly lines up with how i've liked to think about her for a while. she wasn't just a whispery sick little girl, she was smart and brave and fascinated by the unknown!!!

I've Got the "Kiss At Coachella" Blues

1.

Starved—body unthreading, adrift but simultaneously moored by his mouth on yours quick as a little riddle. Anacrustic softness crowded in close to his recklessness, space made for his body next to yours and you are going to kiss him again if he lets you.

You want him colloquial, speaking in choked phrases, midnight oaths and metaphysics—want him to realize what he’s done, now, as it gleams from your eyes like humming neon: I am going to kiss you again. He laughs, pushes you away, because he knows.

Balanced on a knife-edge of unsaid, he’s never spoken more clearly yet so quiet. Across a stage but you hear him in your head, feel him in your chest, on your lips. An adolescent kiss, nothing special really, but everything held in a dog-day between you.

Recollect—his pout, hand to mouth, a thrown tambourine clattering like broken dishes. Melodrama of a split-second decision, a sock-it-to-ya kind of thought that comes when you’re doing some hard-fucking yearning. He’s split-cracked down the middle now with all his thoughts restrewn.

Good-for-nothing little masochists, both of you with your hands in each others wounds.

Could you be his unasked question? There’s nothing you like more than your own every-direction fantasies— full-up of you and gasping, excruciating, ripeness of a fruit-bowl peach and you know he would taste like a prize. Sometimes you want him crying on his belly and sometimes you want hazy pink light behind his head like a halo, leaving him sated and illiterate if only for a moment.

You know he’s wound too tight from explaining this two-horse trick you have going on. Nobody is asking the right things—except you know how to curl him up like a question mark until he’s langorous and hypnotized.

Touch your lips like you’re remembering— a false-bearing thought assuming you will never get this again. But he lets you hold his hand, take a bow, dazed little eyes looking anywhere but you.

Now, an organized withholding, but later, oh, an easy lapdog always gets what he wants.

I like to headcanon Shin as a hardcore atheist (complete opposite of Hiyori who's a very religious person). He can't see himself believing in a higher power, not when his plights and tragedies and suffering were always met with indifference by whatever higher power may exist. But not by Sou Hiyori-- his guardian angel all throughout high school. His protector and his tormentor. His saviour and his captor. Someone he devoutly followed for years after having found him. Someone he looks up to; someone superior (always "Hiyori" while he's still "Shin", never his equal). Someone whose teachings he takes to heart and lives by. Someone he seeks out instinctively in his hour of desperation and need. Someone whose hand-me-down he wears dutifully around his neck to keep him close at all times. Someone who will praise him for his obedience and dependency and punish him for his defiance and independence. Someone he loves and respects and fears all at once. The moon can't shine without the sun, and Hiyori all but shone upon him when he couldn't find the light within himself. Shin doesn't believe in God, but loving Hiyori is the closest he's ever gotten to religion. I think it's poetic, in a way.
