Simply adding to a cultural wealth that says "we're still here" is absolutely invaluable in this climate. Read a queer fanfic chapter and post a comment. Like that post of that fan artist you like. Contributing to these spaces is vital. It's not doing nothing. It's incredibly important.

Okay, so I don't know about anyone else, but...

City spirits.

We've seen Lady Gotham, but I haven't really seen any other City spirits?

Did I just not find any yet, is it a fandom thing to only have her or...

Anyway! So maybe only she's mentioned because she's THAT powerful or she's the only city spirit in a certain radius, but I've got an idea.

So I'm not really caught up on DC because of personal reasons, but I've seen the whole 'Gotham vs Metropolis' rivalry thing.

So the citizens have a big rivalry going on. No one really can tell you why, they just do. Who's to say it didn't start out as an instinctive 'test the new sibling' thing I assume step-/non step- siblings do.

Yes I'm asking if Ms. Metropolis and Lady Gotham are dating. Just imagine it. The preppy and sunny City Spirit and the dark and gloomy City spirit are having lunch and just:

"Have the kids settled their feud yet? It's been a few decades since this started."

"I don't know about yours, but my Gothamites are still a bit on edge. They have gotten a bit more protective, though. Star's children were very much not prepared for the consequences of verbally poking at your children."

im sorry it’s still getting to me that the qsmp is a story that relies so heavily on the characters having compassion and acknowledging each other’s humanity and then they turn around and limit q!quackity’s ability to access complex communication — arguably one of the only skills that set humans apart from other animals

they have stripped away most, if not all of his context-specific memories and made it so he can hardly connect with other people at the moment. human communication is contextual in nature and q!quackity can’t even comprehend some of the cues he’s being given right now. because they have been forcefully taken from him

on top of that, his (visual, at the very least) language processing is fucked. he doesn’t seem to RECOGNIZE written text to the point he’s unable to read at all. there’s also cognitive dissonance between his intention to write and his ability to assemble words properly. currently, q!quackity cant read or write and this makes a great part of his communication very vulnerable. he relies on others to read/write to him and be transparent because he literally cannot verify any of it

the federation have taken this human, social being and knowingly hindered his ability to interact with the world around him. a world he knew!!!!! — its an attempt of dehumanization to the likes we hadn’t yet seen applied within the story. it’s a big twist and its CRUEL. and its so interesting i cant even be mad about it

So officially my goal before the end of the year is to finish any outstanding pieces or unfinished series so that if Project 2025 comes to pass you will have all lose ends tied up on anything you've been waiting on. Im also working on getting everything up on AO3 under my same username. If it looks like we will lose access to these sites, then I will orphan the works so they will still be available to read, even if I can't be a part of them anymore. I know they bring joy to people & that is what matters to me.

If you are also in the US I might recommend printing stories or things you have posted that you don't want to lose. Internet will be easier to track & while yes a printed copy gives you a physical paper trail it will also be easier to recreate than trying to go by memory if he actually does leave after 4 years & our country isn't beyond repair.

Right now, I'm looking at Project 2025 & Trump as hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. They basically plan to run right over the constitution & the Supreme Court has already given him the go ahead to do it without reprimand. They plan to go after porn & smut under a lawsuit to the Supreme Court saying it should no longer be protected under freedom of speech. I imagine LGBTQ+ content will be targeted first but Tumblr & AO3 may well get caught in the dragnet.

Obviously i want to keep writing & stay on here, because I love it, but you know just in case. This also explains my new header image, because we are very much in the bad place now.

Eventually the two teens sat down, both suddenly feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by the immense weight of reality.

Pregnant. A baby.

Kit finally broke the silence. "What now?" Penelope shook her head and let out a sigh: "I... I don't want to get rid of this baby, Kit. I know it might be the better choice as we're so young still. And I don't want to put any responsibility on you. But... I just can't do it. This is my choice."

"But..." Kit's mind was racing. Penelope shouldn't raise a baby on her own. And he had always thought he'd have kids later, but could he be a father already? "We're just kids ourselves, Pen. We did one grown-up thing and we already messed it up."

Penelope sprang to her feet, clinging her fists in frustration. "No Kit, we didn't mess anything up. We were responsible. This just happened. And now we have to make choices. And that's exactly what my family will take away from me. When they find out, they will send me away, make me have an abortion and I don't know, marry me off to get rid of me or something. Anything to avoid a scandal."

The idea of losing all control of her own life was a lot more scary to Penelope than the idea of having a child as a teen. Even on her own. She didn't know how to communicate this to Kit and in her desperation, she reached for her head with both hands. What a mess.

"Pen..." There was so much he wanted to say, but Kit wasn't able to put his thoughts into the right order, into any order. Penelope looked at him for a moment, her face suddenly turning stern, a determined look in her eyes.

"It's ok. This isn't your fault and it's not your problem. I'm not going to drag you down with me, Kit. But I can't stay. I'm leaving tonight and I'm going to raise this baby better than any Landgraab ever could."

It was as if lightning struck a second time. Kit inhaled sharply. What was she saying? Running away on her own? To where? How? Alone? "Pen, don't..."

But she had already turned around and started to walk away from him. "I understand, Kit. It's okay. I'm sorry."

Kit wanted to run after her. Grab her arm and make her stay. Make her stay with him. But his body didn't move. He was frozen in place, trying desperately to process what he just learned, what he was feeling, what he had to do.
