I have to context for this or any concept of "doing with it" but I was on the bus earlier today listening to "Voices in my Head" from Be More Chill (as a theater kid waiting for musical season does) and this idea just sort of. entered my brain.

So, Danny Phantom/Be More Chill AU. This is more in the mindset of like, character parallels and they sort of match up really well?

Like, obviously Danny as Jeremy, the protagonist who ends up having weird stuff happening to him that causes the story, and Tucker as Michael, the best friend/sidekick who happens to be POC (which isn't extremely significant just fun match). Also Tucker and Michael totally have similar vibes

Then there's Sam as Christine, the love interest who's into things the other kids aren't and supports environmental causes

I'm thinking Jazz for Jenna Rolan, just being the one who manages to know pretty much everything (also being the first one Jeremy/Danny is able to coerce into being SQUIPed)

Chloe and Brooke would obviously be Paulina and Valerie, in that order

Rich would be Dash, the one who actively bullies Danny but has moments of helpfulness, and for Jake I was thinking Kwan (although actually if it was Wes that might be funnier)

Jack as Jeremy's dad, and Mr. Lancer as Mr. Reyes (which considering how dramatic both of the teachers are would actually work pretty well)

And I think the best conclusion I came to when this all blossomed in my head, for who the SQUIP itself would be.

Out of all my ocs, the one who’s the most of an enigma to me gender-wise is Wes. Which is the point because she’s literally gender fluid lmao but I do feel like he’s one of my more interesting ocs in this regard just because of the context of the time period she’s in. Idk if anyone else thinks deeply about their historical ocs in the context of their canon time period but I think it’s so interesting for trans and queer characters. For Wes I literally feel like his gender evolved from in-game to postgame and I couldn’t even explain why to you, I think she’s just leaning into transfem more. You know, I think his gender is really something that brings him a lot of joy, but it’s also something a little more private? And that’s ok. Like his partners and close friends know ofc, and switch up the pronouns and all that, but the rest of the world perceives and treats her like a man and she’s ok with that. I mean, he is a man like sort of sometimes vaguely, but that’s beside the pointwjifjef I just don’t think he’s ever really come out to the general public or anyone beyond his immediate social circle and probably never will, and she’s perfectly happy with that.
