I think it’s funny how much change and development I’ve made to the plot storyline in my head that I’ve been documenting for almost 3 years now. When I first came up with the concept there was going to be like magic and angels and faeries and a whole bunch of world building shit that did NOT fit together at all and made no sense. But now instead it’s a bunch of situations that are exactly as outlandish as the fantasy genre because of how fucked up they are. Nobody makes healthy or normal decisions.

ok so. i finished the archon quest interlude and i'm having enough brainworms to take down a nation so:
since pretty much everyone forgot about mr mouchy man's existence as a fatuus, that does change some of the aspects of what's going on with the ocs in the genshin-verse--suni believes that signora was the one to give her the tanto knife on her birthday and not scaramouche like he was peer pressured into doing originally, and just generally no one remembers there being a sixth harbinger, only an empty slot of a kind that just....didn't get filled, i imagine.
now, for dottore and subject one.....man. dottore did a lot more fucked up shit than we knew of previously, rubbin his hands together all evil and crap. since subject one is essentially his little assistant buddy, that means he was aware of what was going on between scaramouche and dottore pre-scara diving into a knowledge tree, so...yeah, little dude, you're an accomplice to medical malpractice. i mean, i already had a brainworm that subject one knew about collei's whole deal, but still...... little man's is gonna be fucked up when he's older.
kosume, being a dream eater and still able to see dreams, is probably one of the very few that still knows that scaramouche is, well....him (or, takara, as i have dubbed him in my game), purely by accidentally entering his dreams and going 'huh.' i mean, he still doesn't remember scaramouche, but since the fella probably has dreams of being in the fatui, kosume's clever enough to draw conclusions from there. and you know what he does with this information? nothing. he doesn't really care.

1- the logical thinking indicates that the most probably option is usually the correct option, for example, if a man has lung cancer the most likely option is that is lung cancer is related to his tabaquism, the same aplly on this case, if a person with morbid obesity has some kind of circulation problem then the most likely option is that is related to the weight of that person, now about your question, if you wanna know how morbid obesity relates to health problems then my answer is
2 - read a goddanm biology book (or just google it), the answer is right there, you dont need to ask a random person on the internet about that, and guess what, you cannot put links into asks so im unable to give you the link to any kind of article explaining that, if you wanna know the corelation then just search morbid obesity on wikipedia.
---
This ask is about this post where a woman's health issues are blamed by doctors on her weight, so she loses the weight, and when doctors see that her health issues have not gotten better, but have gotten worse, they order tests that they should have ordered months ago.
I think you misunderstand the point of the post. Let's take the obesity out of this. A woman goes to the doctor for severe cramps, sleepiness during the day, memory and balance problems. Doctors refuse to treat her. That's all there is to this issue - a woman has gone to a medical professional with a set of symptoms, and the medical professional did not test her for the conditions that have the above symptoms.
You give me an example in your ask of smokers having an increased risk of lung cancer, so let's apply this analogy here. A smoker goes to the doctor and says, "doctor, I have difficulty breathing, a painful cough that doesn't go away for months, I lost 50 pounds in less than a month, pain in my hands, fingers and chest." These are very common symptoms of lung cancer. So, what you're advocating for, is that the doctor should refuse to order any tests for the patient, tell them to stop smoking, and send them on their way. We know that some health risks are associated with obesity, in the same way that lung cancer is associated with smoking, so should we not be testing those people for those diseases more often?
People whose father has died of heart disease are at more risk of heart disease, so we test those people for heart disease when they mention they have symptoms. People whose family has ADHD are more at risk of having ADHD, so we test those people for ADHD when they mention they have symptoms. Why is obesity any different? If a disease has already developed, losing weight will do nothing except for decrease that initial risk, but it's past that already if they HAVE THE DISEASE. They have to be treated for the disease. Thin people can get heart attacks, and non smokers can get lung cancer or develop asthma, so why do those people go to the doctor with those symptoms and get tested, and obese people don't?
In some of your replies on that post, you have used this Wikipedia page as your source. On the same page, it says,
"While a majority of obese individuals at any given time are attempting to lose weight and often successful, research shows that maintaining that weight loss over the long term proves to be rare." (Wikipedia includes a reference for this, I've linked it here).
I am using the same research you are using to argue my point. If an obese individual walks into a doctor's office with symptoms of a heart condition, and is told to lose weight, they are basically sentenced to death. As we can see above, long term weight loss may lead to more health risks, and is actually very rare in most people (less than 1 in 100 obese people manage to lose the weight and stay at the new weight), and so if a doctor tells an obese person not to come back until she has lost all of the weight, she may actually die before she comes back to the doctor.
Obesity is an issue, and does increase the risks of some conditions. However, according to the same Wikipedia article you and I have both been using,
"obesity has individual, socioeconomic, and environmental causes, including diet, physical activity, automation, urbanization, genetic susceptibility, medications, mental disorders, economic policies, endocrine disorders, and exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals."
I don't want to assume you're enough of a heartless monster to say "obese people brought this on themselves and therefore deserve to suffer and die due to medical malpractice" as a response to my above point, but JUST IN CASE YOU WERE, that's a whole lot of people you're condemning. You're condemning children who grow up in poverty and whose parents can only afford McDonald's (cheaper than vegetables in the USA), you're condemning my uncle, who had a deadly thyroid issue that wasn't treated in time (he grew up in Soviet Russia) and messed up his metabolism so bad he currently exercises for 3 hours a day but is still extremely overweight. You're condemning people with pcos, people with hyperthyroidism, people with eating disorders and depression. All of those people, in your opinion, do not deserve medical treatment.
With what we now know, let's summarise.
Fact 1: people who are obese have a higher risk of developing certain disorders, in the same way that someone with a family history of heart problems may develop heart problems, however, no disease is directly CAUSED by obesity and obesity alone. If that were the case, thin people wouldn't get those diseases at all, but I know many thin people with narcolepsy, cancers, and heart issues.
Fact 2: obesity can be caused by many factors, not just eating a lot of junk food. I've already mentioned hyperthyroidism, eating disorders, pcos, and poverty as some of those factors, but there are more. A lot of those factors are not the fault of the obese individual. We also know that once someone is already obese, keeping off weight that they lose is extremely difficult and takes a long time.
Fact 3: when a smoker goes to the doctor with symptoms of lung cancer, they are told to stop smoking, but they are also SCREENED FOR LUNG CANCER and TREATED IF THERE IS LUNG CANCER PRESENT.
Fact 4: according to the woman in the original post, she went to the doctor with symptoms of narcolepsy and other issues, was told to lose weight, BUT WAS NOT TESTED FOR THE DISEASES SHE IS AT RISK FOR, OR TREATED.
Do you see my point now? Yes, obesity is linked to diseases, but that should mean that people who are obese are screened and treated MORE OFTEN, not less or god forbid not treated at all. Preventing obesity by exercising and eating well is something we should definitely do ON A GLOBAL SCALE (better mental health help for people with depression/eating disorders, cheaper vegetables for people in poverty, more education, less fast food places), to decrease our risk of the diseases that obesity is associated with increasing the risk for (type two diabetes, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, certain cancers), but if someone is already obese, weight loss is no longer a cure, and actual treatment needs to be administered. Weight loss was never a cure, it is a PREVENTATIVE MEASURE, and not even a good one according to the evidence I've provided above. Healthy eating and exercise are good preventative measures, but they do not always contribute to weight loss. So why do doctors prescribe weight loss in the form of pills and calorie restriction, rather than eating HEALTHY and exercising? ALSO, if weight loss was a cure, non-obese cancer patients, non-obese people with narcolepsy, and non-obese people with eating disorders would also be told to lose weight rather than given treatment. So why is weight loss the ONLY treatment doctors give obese people? Obesity is much more complicated than a person just eating a lot of junk and getting fat, that's not how it works.
You know how we "eliminate the most probable option"? WE TEST THE PATIENT FOR IT, AND IF THE TEST COMES BACK NEGATIVE WE ELIMINATE THE OPTION. Why was the woman in the post not tested, and why do you advocate for this? Why do you think a group of people deserves medical attention less than others?
Here's another analogy. Wearing a mask and staying six feet away from others is a PREVENTATIVE MEASURE for covid. When a person already has covid, they are not told to wear a mask and stay six feet away from others. They are put in a hospital and treated. What you are advocating for is akin to sending a person with covid symptoms away with a mask, and not treating them at all.
To summarise: correlation is not causation, all people deserve medical help (people who are turned away from doctors a LOT are women, people of colour, and fat people. Medical discrimination needs to be eradicated in all of those cases) and you are in no position to decide who deserves to be treated and who doesn't.
I'm not overweight myself. I just care about people receiving the medical treatment they need and deserve, regardless of what they look like or what other conditions they already may have. I recommend really looking at yourself and examining the biases you have against fat folks, and figuring out how to become better as a person. You seem to enjoy giving unsolicited medical advice, so here's some from me: stop being a dick.

Who is the real stranger?
I know I’ve already posted a blog about Doctor Stranger but I just can’t help but write another one and this time I would like to discuss each of the characters’ impact (somehow?) on me. This is more like a reflective approach on it. I’ll try my best to communicate my ideas properly...please bear with me.
And also, this is full of spoilers
As I’ve discussed before, Doctor Stranger is a medical-romance drama with Dr. Park Hoon (portrayed by Lee Jong Suk) as the main character. The story revolves around him trying to find his great love whom he lost contact with years ago and at the same time surviving the “politics” in the hospital.
For me though, the characters are strangers in their own right.
Dr. Park Hoon. In North Korea (where he and his father were ‘kidnapped’), he is a great cardiothoracic surgeon. Although during this times you can feel that he only became one because he had no choice; seems like there’s always a gun pointed towards his head each time he did a surgery. He’s great, no doubts with that but the “passion” for what he’s doing is not there. Events happened and his life turned upside down again: his father died, he lost contact with Jae Hee and he finally went back to his original home, South Korea.
On the next episode we can see that from the serious and kinda snobby genius cardiothoracic surgeon, Park Hoon became a goofy but penniless Doctor. Heck, he even ended up in jail one time. It seems like he almost lost everything, but one thing remained, his profession — him being a doctor.
Being desparate in reuniting with his true love, Hoon does everything in order to earn money...even if it means he has to work as a surgeon at the hospital where his father used to work before they were kidnapped. Despite having money as his motivation to work, Hoon does his best in order to make sure that he saves the lives of his patient.....even if it means going against a lot of hospital protocol #ThugLife.
Park Hoon is a stranger because most of the time he loses his translation as to why he really did become a doctor.
Dr. Han Jae Joon. His introduction to the show was epic: we can see him doing a surgery and being so good at it (right at that moment I knew that he will be a tough competitor of Park Hoon). He got his medical degree from Harvard University. Also, he’s got great people on his surgical team. Although great at being a surgeon, you can still feel that something is “off” with him. Most of the time, he’s “cold” One thing that you would notice is the fact that he has a lot of “toy figures” of tall buildings; the biggest was a castle. Often, he is seen putting blocks on that castle; he says it helps him concentrate and train for his surgery. Another shady thing about him is his closeness towards the daughter of Myung Woo hospital chairman.
Jae Joon is a stranger because his hidden agenda is stronger than his willingness to fulfill his duties as a doctor.
Dr. Han Seung Hee. The woman who looks a lot like Jae Hee. She came from Myung Woo hospital’s branch but was then later transferred to the main hospital because of her skills. She’s an an anesthesiologist; she later became a part of Dr. Park Hoon’s team. It was then later revealed that she’s actually Jae Hee and is currently under a secret mission.
Seung Hee is a stranger too, and I think it’s for the same reasons as Jae Joon although their intentions differ.
Dr. Oh Soo Hyun. She’s the daughter of the chairman of Myung Woo hospital. She’s also from the cardiothoracic department. I would like to refer to her as a prisoner, someone who despite having it all in life (she’s rich, has a good career, etc...) something else is still missing and those things are what make her a prisoner for she earns for that freedom to be free in order to get that “missing” aspect. She’s a prisoner of her father’s standards. I really do think that she only became a doctor just so she can please her father. She’s a prisoner of her career....yes, she’s a caring doctor, but is that what she really wanted? She’s a prisoner of love because that’s what she longs for.
She’s a stranger, too.
Dr. Moon. Or as Dr. Park Hoon calls him, “master”. He used to be the head of the cardiology department until Jae Joon comes along and proved that he is better than the former. Dr. Moon, despite being a doctor for a long time is a stranger too for his desire to become the head of the department is stronger than fulfilling his duties to his patient.
Dr. Yang. The most obvious stranger in this series. He’s a doctor yet he does dirty things for the sake of money. And that’s how I know he’s a stranger.
All of them are strangers but as the story progresses, we can see the change in them and how they grow into becoming real doctors. But my favorite and the one I would discuss more is the case of Dr. Park Hoon and Dr. Han Jae Joon.
Fire and Ice. Left and Right. Vertical and Horizontal. A Tale of two great Doctors. A Tale of two Strangers.
Dr. Park Hoon and Dr. Han Jae Joon are both great thoracic surgeons, their medical records are a living proof of that. Both of them are great in their own right. I would’ve love this drama more if the focus is on the story of this two great doctors and how they are able to transform from being strangers to fully embracing their roles as a doctor (because I somehow felt like the romance part is kinda forced in here....no offense).
What made them go side by side is the competition set up by the hospital’s chariman and whoever wins will conduct the surgery of the Prime Minister (which was later found out to be a surgery for the President and the PM was just a cover up)
Let’s put them side by side.
Fire and Ice.
Park Hoon’s cheerful and friendly while Jae Joon’s a bit distant, cold and serious most of the time. The two are really different in their personalities and I guess it’s where they came from that made them that way. Although I really felt like Hoon should also be distant and cold because of the things he went through before: Park Hoon was kidnapped together with his father to another country; he witnessed the love of his life, Jae Hee, being taken by the authorities because of a “crime” related to her father; he witnessed his father dying at the hands of the authorities; he tried saving Jae Hee but he failed; he found himself back in South Korea and ended up close to being broke. Despite all of these, Hoon became a cheerful, friendly, funny and sometimes playful person. While on the other hand, we have Jae Joon who also has a dark past. His father died because of a medical malpractice committed by Myung Woo hospital and since the administration of the hospital lead by Chairman Oh (Soo Hyun’s father) does not want to own up for their mistakes, he vowed revenge on them. He created a plan on how to bring Myung Woo down and it should start with him being a great doctor....being so great that he would end up getting the position of the chairman and from then on he will bring Myung Woo down (referring to the castle he used to ‘play’ with.... one has to enter the castle first and once inside, it will be easier to destroy it).
Left and Right.
They have different motivations; Hoon is being motivated to work in order to earn money that he will use to find his great love while Jae Joon is being motivated by his desire to make the people responsible for the death of his parents pay. Those motivations of theirs affected the way they handled their patients — in some cases.
I guess out of all the patients they’ve handled during their “competition” the most prominent example of how different Hoon and Jae Joon are is with their final round patient. In here, Jae Joon’s patient is a 20 something year old woman while Hoon’s patient is a 40 year old man. Both patients require the same procedure although they somehow differ in their situation; Jae Joon’s patient will get married soon and she plans on having a baby but undergoing a surgery would prevent her from conceiving a child, on the other, hand Hoon’s patient does not have any further issues. Since it’s the final round of the competition, both Doctors are aggressive to win however this round also shows the “real” doctor.....the woman can live without undergoing the procedure (that is at least until she can have her baby? I’m not quite sure in this part though) however if the surgery won’t push through, Jae Joon will lose the competition....so Hoon decided to raise the white flag: at the last minute he exchanged patient with Jae Joon and since the woman is now his patient he decided not to push through with the surgery, thus showing that he truly cares for his patient’s whole well being...even if it means putting himself at risk.
Another example that I would like to use is when Dr. Oh’s mother needed a surgery however it was already obvious that such surgery has a very low percent chance of being successful. Jae Joon who cares more about his “reputation” and “standing” at the hospital declined on doing the surgery while Hoon decided to push through. The patient died during the surgery, but at least Hoon showed that he didn’t give up on his patient, right? There was a committee held in order for Hoon to explain his actions and he answered with  “It’s a doctor’s duty to perform surgery even with one percent chance of success” YASS!! YOU GO THERE BABE! Anyway, he then continue to explain himself by saying: “Is a doctor only supposed to operate on patients with a high rate of success? There are people who want and ask us to save those patients! Is a doctor someone who gives up on surgery and leaves the patient to die?” Do I need to explain this further?
I think It is already obvious that Hoon despite claiming that money is his motivation, he really truly cares about his patients. Jae Joon on the other hand also cares for his patient (I know deep down that he cares!) but he’s just being blinded by his plan of seeking revenge. However, there is also one instance that the situation reversed, when it was Jae Joon that was more willing to save a patient’s life (even at the expense of his career at Myung Woo) than Hoon.
All I’ve discussed so far are the “heroic” deeds of Dr. Park Hoon thus putting Dr. Han Jae Joon into the dark side however as just recently mentioned, there is one event that it was Jae Joon who acted as a real doctor than Hoon and it was on their supposed second round patient. That patient’s life was put in danger because of some mistake committed by the surgery team of the internal med department and since Hoon knows how to correct it, he wanted to do the surgery himself. However since the patient’s from a different department they have to get the permission of that department first. Anyway, long story short, Chairman Oh decided that whoever wanted to do the surgery will lose; so if Jae Joon will do it, then it means the competition’s over since he already lose the first round while Hoon on the other hand has the advantage and so he agrees to do the surgery thus making the competition tied. But since this is the drama world the story does not end there. Hoon was threatened that something will happen to his precious Jae Hee (I’m really not a fan of their love story; I prefer Hoon with Soo Hyun #QuackCouple). So in the end, Jae Joon decided to push through with the surgery. This is the time when I said to myself, told ya he’s a caring doctor as well...he’s just being blinded by his revenge plans. I really admire Jae Joon in this scene because it was in his actions that I saw that after all, he himself knows that above anything else, he’s a doctor first and he shall do his duty. Chairman Oh was furious at him for doing this (since it was obvious from the start that he wanted Jae Joon to win the competition) for if the surgery goes wrong then there’s more reason for the patient’s family to file a lawsuit against the hospital. Chairman Oh even threatens the entire surgery team that they will lose their jobs if they continue with the operation. Jae Joon yells back with “What are you so afraid of?!” then explained that if they will just admit their mistakes and apologize sincerely then they can prevent a lawsuit but Chairman Oh insisted that it’s impossible in which Jae Joon replied with “That’s because we’ve never apologized sincerely! We’ve ignored the people who lost their parents and their children because we didn’t want to lose our money and positions. I’ll show you that you are wrong.”   And at that moment I felt like Jae Joon also deserves to be a lead character like Hoon. But wait, there’s more! A chaos came inside the operating room as one of Jae Joon’s assistant became nervous that resulted to the bleeding of the patient’s heart...at that moment, Hoon seems to be reminded of his father’s words: “...don’t ever forget the fact that you are a doctor” and he decided to join Jae Joon’s team. He also reminded the other doctors that they should not be ashamed for choosing to continue with the surgery despite the risks for that’s what doctors should do. Hoon said, “The people up there should be ashamed. Look.” (referring to Chairman Oh and the other doctors who are just watching the surgery) “You should be proud. You’re the only real doctors in this hospital.” And then he saves the day! Gosh, this is my favorite part of the drama!
Vertical and Horizontal.
Both doctors have their fair amount of successes and failures during their stay at Myung Woo and in the end I love how they were able to move past being a “Doctor Stranger” to being real doctors. What I would like to say in this final paragraph is that Jae Joon and Hoon are really different and yet the same.
They may have their own reasons for the actions done but in the end I’m happy that they were able to understand what being a doctor should really be.
In the end, despite the prime minister being the reason for all of his suffering, Hoon still decided to do whatever it takes to save his life. He realized that as a doctor, he should fulfill his duty of saving lives, even if the patient is an evil personified like the prime minister. For him, any person who lays down on his operating table is just another patient, nothing more nothing less so as a doctor he must do his best in saving that patient’s life. He was once a stranger but now he really did become a real doctor.
As for Jae Joon, I also love the “closure” for his character. He became a doctor because of his plan of bringing Myung Woo down as a revenge for what they did for his father but in the end, he realizes that such plan is absurd and not worth it because if he will pursue it then he just became like the people he hates, the people responsible for his father’s death. He realizes that he became a stranger because he lost in touch with his real purpose as a doctor. Before he left the hospital, he told this to Hoon (and it’s one of my favorite lines from the show) :  “You taught me a valuable lesson. Any doctor who doesn’t truly respect the lives of patients is a stranger.”
Doctor Stranger, despite its flaws, was a great drama and I didn’t regret that I chose this as the first KDrama to watch after years of not watching KDramas; it was a great re-introduction. I’ve learned a lot from this and someday I would definitely rewatch it.
Doctor Stranger tells us the story of Park Hoon and Jae Joon, who are fire and ice, left and right, horizontal and vertical. Both are thoracic surgeons. Both are great. Yet, they are different. Doctor Stranger tells us the story of two strangers who later become real doctors themselves.

3 Common Reasons Why Your Personal Injury Wrongful Death Dallas Isn't Working (And How To Fix It)
Take all the details you have about your case with you for each initial assessment including images but do not take your originals. Take copies. When you do sign an agreement with a legal representative you might be asked to offer the originals, however copies need to be great for your preliminary assessments.
If you think about asking an accident attorney for legal support, you should not be dissuaded by the abrupt mesh of advertisements of various law office and independent personal injury legal representatives all over. For your information, there is a much easier method to discover the very best legal counsel for your accident case-- learn the best ways to find a legal representative through an online directory site. By this, you'll have the ability to conserve time, cash and effort, and you'll not be exploring databases of dependable, experienced and previously-screened attorneys in your geographic area.
You need to guarantee that you're handling reputed attorneys who are focusing on personal injury cases. This is one way of ensuring that you get optimal compensation on your claims. You see, injury cases include huge monetary loss, especially the extreme cases. By employing a competent legal representative, you will certainly get the suitable settlement because the legal representative can establish your monetary losses.
Often times, when individuals are associated with personal injury cases, they do not seek the guidance of accident legal representatives for fear that doing so will be too expensive and complicated. As you all may understand, filing a case and the whole court procedures is so difficult and worst, they cost you lots of money. These have actually become the major disadvantages of personal injury cases. However the good idea these days-- there are lots of law office at present that ease those fears immediately. And, getting the services of personal injury legal representatives has already end up being an effortless job.
Roadway traffic accidents represent a big proportion of all accidents and personal injury settlement claims. Drivers of lorries are required to have some level of insurance coverage cover. These policies offer defense for anybody (consisting of members of the exact same family) who may be associated with a mishap, who suffer personal injury as a result of the motorist's negligence and may have to place a personal injury settlement claim whether the motorist's neglect has actually led to a cops prosecution. If it is found that an http://query.nytimes.com/search/sitesearch/?action=click&contentCollection&region=TopBar&WT.nav=searchWidget&module=SearchSubmit&pgtype=Homepage#/Personal Injury Lawyer http://craigglickmanlawfirm.com/Contact-Us.php irresponsible motorist had inadequate or no insurance at the time of the mishap, you may still be able to bring a personal injury payment claim.
The working environment can impact people such that they suffer diseases as a result. Although these illness may not be evident immediately symptoms might establish much later. Although in general terms an accident payment claims has to be issued within 3 years from the date of the cause of injury or disease, this time limitation may be lengthened if you were not familiar with the reason for your signs until some time later. If you suspect that your symptoms are related to work place injury, please consult us as soon as possible.
Injury legal representatives can help on cases where something wrong was done to you. Cases as vehicle accidents resulting from another's driving while intoxicated, bodily injury because of a malfunctioning item, poisoning because of the spoiled food served by a dining establishment, health issue because of drug containing damaging ingredients or perhaps by medical malpractice by a physician, injury because of uncalled for actions and hazards by another individual, and much more, which threaten the security of a Find more information specific and detrimentally agitate one's mental, physical and psychological well-being.
It is recommended that when you had yourself hurt, or you had a mishap, you need to immediately seek advice from a lawyer to understand the merits you have for a case. Definitely, getting the services of injury lawyers to guide you on the actions to take would be a smart thing to do. Filing a formal complaint the soonest you can, will accelerate things up, and will give the impression of a genuine reason for action on your part.
Now, as soon as you are convinced that you require a personal injury attorney, you need to present the effort of first finding the right individual for your case. Here are a few suggestions on choosing the right lawyer for you.
Utilizing this online database and your local yellow pages as a sort of general list, it then ends up being vital to narrow this list by looking at the qualifications of a specific attorney. Probably the very best method to do this is to call your regional legal aid center, which is complimentary. While these people are not in the business of offering suggestions, the bar in a specific city for personal injury usually includes about fifty to one hundred attorneys, so among attorneys word navigates pretty rapidly as to who is good and who is not.
If you suffer unexpected accident or damages through the fault of another, that person or business is legally accountable (accountable) and can be required to pay payment. To figure out responsibility, the court tries to find negligence -- recklessness by one of the parties included. Whoever is determined to have actually been less careful (i.e. more negligent), is lawfully responsible for at least part of the damages sustained.
Without a certified, experienced injury legal representative, their chances of receiving reasonable settlement plunge. That's why it's truly essential that, if you've been a victim of personal injury, you select the right personal injury attorney to represent you. Here are a few things to think about when making your choice.
Kinds of Accident. Injuries can be practically anything that causes an injury. Whether this is an automobile accident caused by another motorist, or whether you slip and fall while shopping or perhaps at work these are all most likely triggers for injury claims. Tripping over terribly laid paving pieces may lead to an effective injury claim. Pet bites, asbestos diseases, a crash while on public transportation or any mishap that leads to physical injury may imply you are entitled to claim. An injury attorney will be able to recommend you whether you have a case or not.
The pain and suffering caused by lots of accidents can be long-term and not only physical however emotional and mental also. It can take months and even years to recuperate from the anguish brought on by some injuries.
To start with, discover a legal representative who focuses on your kind of case and in the kind of law your case falls under. You want an attorney who specializes in accident law, not one who specializes in other areas of law such as criminal law, wills, estates, or divorce.
In addition, you do not just require an accident attorney who excels in injury law. You also need somebody who entirely comprehends the jurisdiction of your area. Also, you must ask yourself this question prior to working with an accident attorney-- Are you comfortable with that legal representative and are you positive in his capabilities? If the answer is anything other than a definite "yes," you must keep looking. Your case is too crucial to turn over to someone who does not inspire your confidence.
You need to ensure that you're dealing with reputed attorneys who are focusing on personal injury cases. This is one method of making sure that you get maximum payment on your claims. You see, injury cases include massive financial loss, particularly the extreme cases. By employing a skilled attorney, you will definitely get the proper settlement since the lawyer can establish your monetary losses.
Indeed, a qualified counsel is so crucial in an injury case. So, if you have actually been associated with such case, do not hesitate, go out, find the injury attorney to be your partner in your mission for justice, and delight in the services that he offers you.
A motorist can make an accident settlement claims for loss and injuries if someone else was to blame for the accident. This is usually another chauffeur although under some situations the mishap may have been caused by the irresponsible actions of another party. For example if the roads were not gritted such that they remained icy and in a hazardous condition, an injury compensation claims may be filed versus the celebration responsible for maintaining the roadways. If the accident included a pedestrian or cyclist who were later shown to be at fault, a personal injury settlement claim could still made even though the upsetting celebration may not posses sufficient or any insurance coverage cover. Nevertheless, in these circumstances we might recommend that it is not worth bringing such accident payment claim.
It is advisable that when you had yourself injured, or you had a mishap, you need to immediately seek advice from an attorney to understand the merits you have for a case. Absolutely, getting the services of personal injury lawyers to direct you on the actions to take would be a smart thing to do. Submitting a formal complaint the soonest you can, will accelerate things up, and will give the impression of a genuine cause of action on your part.
Recommendations can be excellent if you know somebody in the legal community. However if not, the best you will leave a recommendation is a sort of 'he/she isn't inexperienced.' Because let's face it, a lot of clients have no idea whether the settlement they got remained in actuality the very best they might have.
Choose an attorney who specializes in personal injury. Your personal injury lawyer must have the ability to properly assess the benefits of an accident case, approximate its monetary worth, and identify the best method for pursuing it. She or he ought to also have substantial experience in the field. Your personal injury legal representative ought to also who keep current with the current developments in accident law.
The discomfort and suffering triggered by numerous mishaps can be long lasting and not just physical however psychological and mental also. It can take months or perhaps years to recuperate from the distress caused by some injuries.

Car Insurance for driving test question?
Okay I'm a bit confused here so here it is: I'm taking my road driving test this January (I'm in TX BTW). One of the requirements is that I provide a car that has insurance. So my question is, does the insurance need to cover me as a driver as well? Or is it OK if the insurance covers the car and it's owner only (my friends' car) and it's only his name as the insured driver . I'm confused since he said I NEED to be covered by the car's insurance, but how can I be covered if I don't have the license yet (Insurance companies will only insure drivers with license) I tried calling the local DMV but you know what happens when you do... you are put on hold for the entire day. So can I just use his car (it is of course insured) or what? Or is this just another way of him saying You're not driving my car bud! haha. Thanks a lot!""

Are health insurance rates a state or federal matter of approval?
I read this story today: The Obama administration is asking Anthem Blue Cross to justify its plans to raise health insurance premiums... Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sent a letter to the company's president on Monday calling the planned increases extraordinary and difficult to understand. She wrote that the company has an obligation to provided a detailed justification for the rate hikes to the public. I thought that health insurers were state regulated and regulated by the NAIC--not the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Anthem is in California if that makes a difference.

Where can I find affordable health insurance?
Where can I find affordable health insurance without a deductible that makes it pointless to have insurance? We live in Nampa Idaho. We are on a tight budget but I can probably make room for a couple hundred dollars. I would need family coverage for myself, husband and 2 year old daughter. I have tried looking around online and all of the insurance plans are about $400+ a month and still have a deductible of $2500+ per person. I have looked into welfare and their income limit is $317 a month, and they have no options for paying a monthly premium for people that can't afford the other plans. I just wanted to see if anybody had any recommendations for something that might be a little affordable. We have chronic health conditions so we do tend to use a lot of medical services.""

Is this what we will expect with government run health insurance...?
I went to our government run motor company, GM, and told them I'm here to pick up my new truck. They said yes sir, and that will be $25,000. I said wait a second, I just paid billions of dollars to own my own car company, and it will still cost me $25,000 for a new truck? They said yes. So I went to Ford, and looked at a comparable truck, and it was $19,000. I asked, do I own this car company, they said nope, we are still owned by Ford. So, that has me wondering... I currently pay $665 a month for insurance for my family, and it's pretty good. What much is that going up once the government has to get paid too? Will it be $6,000 more a year? And why is it that I can't just pick up my Government Motors truck, I do own it right? Or, did Obama lie about the people owning the company? And since he lied about that, is it possible that he's lying about the cost and the public option? And finally... didn't he promise transparency in the negotiations, and it would all be on CSPAN? I keep looking for video of those negotiations, and can't find it anywhere. Is it possible that he Lied about that too? With all these lies, and can you possibly trust a thing this moron is telling you?""

I just got an expired registration and no insurance ticket.?
I just found out my registration expired back in Oct of 2008. I don't pay insurance because it is a scam, they don't help you when you need it, and they hike your rates when you claim something even though that is what you pay them for in the 1st place. But I had 2 stickers on my car. One that said November 11. and one that said October 08. So I thought that the newest sticker meant that is when the experation was. But the officer said November is the 11th. I am like yes, but why would they write the number down when you can read it right there? That means 2011. On top of this, I never got a notice from my dmv. so now I have to go to court over this miss undestanding and I can't help but feel I just got cheated by the police and the DMV because they failed to properly lable their sticker and failed to give me a notice. I checked my tags just a month ago in fact which is why I knew it expired in 2011 but the officer just refuses to see it as a miss understanding. Is there a legal service I can go through to get this ticket written off as a zero considering the fact I pretty much just got screwed due to the way the laws don't actually protect the innocent?""

I want to switch car insurance companies?
My car insurance is up at the end of September. The current company that I'm with has sent me a renewal reminder. They will automatically renew it at the end of the month. However, despite the fact that all my dealings with the current insurance provider have been online, if you want to cancel your policy, you have to do it by phone. I don't particularly want to call them and get the hard sell (I'm really not very good in that sort of situation). I recently got my license and am looking at insurances. Can someone find me a quote (or at least give me an idea) for a 16 year old male living in California. The vehicle would be a 2WD 2006 Silverado. I also have a clean record if that helps at all. Thanks!

An affordable car to purchase with cheapest insurance for a 17 y/o?
Hey, I'm 17 and looking to purchase my first car. Of course, insurance is a big issue for me. I was wondering what car would be a good buy where insurance wouldstill be cheap? I'm looking at spending around 500 for a second hand car, so all these new electric economic cars which cost thousands that google keep bringing up are too miuch for me. I heard about ford KA's, Nissan Micra's, Renault Clio's and Vauxhall Corsa's being good, however, when I look on insurance websites there's about 50 versions of each car with different engines, doors, years etc, and I don't have the slightest clue which version of the car would be the cheapest, other than having a smaller engine. I was wondering if anybody could provide me with the make and models of the cars which are the cheapest to insure, but are still well priced and can be picked up easily second hand. Thanks""

What are legal steps to resolving an auto insurance claim?
Allstate was supposed to compensate me for X amount of damage done to my car by the driver who had insurance upto 5 grand. Notice that I did not have insurance with AllState but that because the driver was at fault, and had coverage of upto $5000, AllState has agreed to pay me a portion of that 5 grand. However, the problem is the driver who was at fault is not agreeing to this and demands more in loss from AllState. Whereas, although, I myself deserve more in damage since the car was worth more than the amount I am being compenstated for, I have still decided to settle for less. Now because the driver is delaying the decision to accept the remaining amount out of 5 grand, this case/claim has not resolved SINCE 2010. They wouldn't send me check yet only because the driver needs to accept the offer also. My theory is that whether or not the driver finds the offer fair, is none of my problem. I shouldn't have to wait for 2 years only because the driver refuses their offer. I should get my share at least. Do I have a legal case against the company for taking too long in this regards ? What can I do to resolve this ?""

Raise car insurance price?
I recently got a speeding ticket for $198. I've only been pulled over twice, once in 2006 and then this current occasion. I'm a college student and I'm very short on money and I'm unsure as to what to do. I've already saved $100 and when I get paid again, I'll save the remaining amount. However, I hadn't thought about traffic school just because it's about $30 for the class and then an additional $10 to get the certification sent to me and by that point, it'll be close to 30 days and I have to mail the ticket and payment out since I was pulled over in a different county. And, it would end up costing me more money in the end. I'd receive 4 points on my license without taking traffic school. How bad is 4 points? Will the points make my car insurance go up? What's the best thing to do in this situation?""
Do i have to remove a car i sold from my insurance?
i had 2 cars an old car and a new car, they were both insured under one policy with me and my son as the only drivers. now i sold the old car, and when i get a quote for removing my old car from my insurance policy it says that the insurance will increase about $70 every 6 months and that's because i loose the multiple car discount and also because i had my young son as driver only on the old car and removing it will force me to put him as a driver on the new car. i sold the car and i have a paper from the person that i sold it to indicating that they bought it. my question now is, would there be any risks by keeping the car on the policy, is it illegal? or if anything happens to the car, will they go after my insurance although i sold the car? *i already sent the release of liability to the DMV *i live in California any help would be appreciated 10 pts for best answer""
How do I cancel my Kaiser Permanente insurance?
A wise person once said you have to be the change you seek in the world. I am a fit young man that is fed up with the current health insurance scheme in the United States and want something like the system that Singapore has. My plan is to cancel my health insurance, save the money in a high yield savings account for emergencies and actually take a nice vacation every now and then. A vacation to a nice country would increase my overall health way more than health insurance. I will also take out catastrophic insurance for just in case I get into something my medical fund can't cover. It makes no sense for me to pay thousands of dollars every year into medical insurance when I haven't been to the doctor in over 2 years. Can I get my money back? My health is fantastic and I try very hard to keep it that way. I hate going to the doctor. The problem is my company is saying I am only allowed to make insurance changes once a year--in June! I think they have some sort of special deal with Kaiser. Is there anything I can do? I love my job and don't want to quit on principle.""
""Totaled my blazer, AAA car insurance?""
Okay I was involved in a hit an run accident a little over 2 weeks ago. I have full coverage insurance including uninsured and underinsured coverage. I owe around 9,000$ on my truck still, but was told finally yesterday that AAA is settling my vahicle loss at a little over 13,000$. I'm trying to find out how long is this going to take before I get money from them so I can get another car. I have injuries and can't get back an forth to my Dr and physical therapy. So I need this to happen like yesterday. And I am also an independent contractor doing vehicle title work and various other things for an automotive shop. I'm not on payroll since I contract my own work and pay my own taxes at end of the year. My attorney told me that since I didn't have a job where I received regular payroll checks I could not claim loss wages. Why is this? And is there anything I can do to speed this process up? As of now I have minimal use of my right arm because I injured my shoulder in accident and so far Dr has me off work till end of January. So I need to recover benefits somehow so I can survive till going hack to work. Any help would be great, this is all so overwelming. Thank you""

Ask D'Mine: Keeping Your Numbers Private, Scuba Diving with Diabetes?
New Post has been published on http://type2diabetestreatment.net/diabetes-mellitus/ask-dmine-keeping-your-numbers-private-scuba-diving-with-diabetes/
Ask D'Mine: Keeping Your Numbers Private, Scuba Diving with Diabetes?
Need help navigating life with diabetes? Email us at [email protected]
Yup, you guessed it: it's another edition of our new diabetes advice column, Ask D'Mine, hosted by veteran type 1, diabetes author and community educator Wil Dubois.
Send us your queries related to life with diabetes — nothing is off-limits here! (except of course specific medical instructions for your own care; that's what doctors are for)
This week, Wil's addressing a couple of burning issues about what you can do with diabetes, and what others in your life should or should not...
Max from Rhode Island, type 1, writes: My wife really pisses me off. Every time I check my blood sugar she's looking over my shoulder to see what my numbers are. It feels like she's invading my space. What does Ask D'Mine think?
Wil@Ask D'Mine answers: She is invading your space. But she has a right to. That said, very clearly the two of you need to set some ground rules. Let's look at this from our PWD perspective first. Our numbers are private stuff. We may have to share that stuff, but it doesn't mean we have to like it.
For what's it's worth, Max, I'm on the frontlines fighting for you. When I'm teaching classes of community health workers about meters, the first thing I ask my students (who are overwhelmingly female) is "what's your bra size?"
Jaws drop.
People sputter.
Someone will finally spit out, "that's none of your damn business!"
"OK," I say, "when you ask to see someone's blood sugar numbers, you are asking them their bra size."
Blood sugar numbers are personal, intimate. And often embarrassing.
I also teach my students that when they check someone's blood sugar, they should hold the meter so that only the PWD can see the number after the strip wicks up the blood, then to ask permission to look at the number and record it after the meter beeps and the patient winces.
But of course what I'm teaching is simply professional etiquette (which we're also in short supply of), while what you have is a different problem. You see, you already know your wife's bra size. Couples tend to mow boundaries down, which overall, is a good thing in my book.
This is really about respect. Frankly, your wife absolutely has the right to know your numbers. So does your doctor's nurse. But that doesn't mean they have the right to be disrespectful about how they go about getting the information.
If you respect their right to know your numbers, then you can demand their respect about your right to privacy in testing.
I have a few suggestions, and I bet our readers will add a few more. You're going to have to tell your wife how you feel and agree on a middle ground. My first suggestion is "don't look, I'll tell." She has to agree not to look at the meter, but you have to agree to tell her, "well, crap, my blood sugar is 210." (Because we all know that only broken meters or the ones on TV commercials have numbers in the low 100s all the time.)
Or, if you can't bring yourself to talk about it, give her access to the meter after you have used it. Test. Zip the case back up. Leave it on the table. And go mix yourself a stiff drink while she uses the meter memory to see where you stand.
Bottom line, as a PWD you have the right to privacy in your testing. But as a T3, your partner has both the right and the need to know your numbers. After all, your diabetes is her diabetes too.
Marianne from Australia, type 2, asks: Is the taboo on scuba diving real, or is it one of those things left over from the early days? I've taken up snorkeling so that I can get up close and personal with all sorts of marine critters. I'd love to go the next step but I'm having trouble getting the green light and nobody wants to be responsible for taking me on my first dive. I haven't yet gone the route of full diving medicals because I'd just love to try scuba diving once before I committed to all of the costs involved.
Wil@Ask D'Mine answers: Thanks for the question; today I learned a whole lot more about scuba diving than I knew when I woke up. Turns out that not so long ago, diving schools and the folks that certify divers didn't much care for our kind. In point of fact, the World Recreational Scuba Training Council's medical forms for doctors still state that scuba is "contraindicated" for Persons with Diabetes. That's med-speak for a really, really bad idea that can get you sued for malpractice.
But the world is changing. Back in 1996 the Diver's Alert Network, a non-profit organization associated with Duke University Medical Center, whose mission is to provide expert medical info to the diving community, (and a historically anti-PWD organization), surveyed their membership and found 177 closet PWDs in their ranks — 74% of whom were insulin shooters.
To their credit, instead of sweeping this under the carpet, or attempting a purge, they undertook a series of nine studies over the next three years. In all they evaluated 561 dives by 41 insulin-shooting frog-people and came to the conclusion that diving is safe for PWDs.
As a result of this research, while not exactly welcoming us with open arms, the dive overlords have modified their recommendations on which PWDs are safe under the waves, and which of us should stay on dry land.
When you sign up for a scuba class nowadays you'll be asked to sign 27 different liability waivers and fill out a Medical Statement like the one co-endorsed by the Recreational Scuba Training Council and the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (who you can friend on Facebook!).
This medical form has quite a long list of potential medical issues.
Are you pregnant? Do you have asthma, epilepsy, motion sickness, high blood pressure, hernia, or ulcers? Have you had a spinal surgery in the past? If you are over 45, do you smoke cigars, have high cholesterol, or a family history of heart attacks?
Oh. Do you now, or have you ever had, hay fever?
I'm not thinking too many people "pass" this test. Do you take any prescription medications other than birth control or anti-malarial drugs? Are you an alcoholic?
Are you really sure you want to scuba dive? This is starting to sound like a pretty boring group of people to me.
Oh. One last thing: Do you have diabetes? Even if controlled by diet alone? (No shit, that question is on the form.)
Anyway, if you answer "yes" to any one of these, or a dozen more questions, you'll need to have your doc sign off on you before you can get your feet wet. The Medical Statement includes three pages of instructions for your doctor under the heading of "Guidelines for Recreational Scuba Diver's Physical Exam." (Just in case your doc is more into golf than diving, and doesn't know what to look for?)
OK, so all of that said, let's talk about you. You are a type 2, and I know from your note you were diagnosed just a year ago, and that your diabetes has "been pretty much under control since the early days." That tells me you are most likely on oral meds. Depending on which ones, your risk of low blood sugar could be pretty much zero, or at least the same as anyone who doesn't have diabetes at all. If I were your doctor I'd sign off on you in two seconds. Of course, I'm not a doctor at all, so what do I know?
But still, why on earth couldn't you scuba dive? What risk, beyond the whole being eaten by sharks thing, could you pose? Which begs the question: do you even need to tell them you have diabetes?
Yeah. Sorry. I think you do. Even though I'd be willing to bet those 177 PWDs back in '96 didn't. First off, you are signing your name to a document that certifies certain facts about your health. Lying on a legal document is perjury, but more importantly, you are not doing this on your own. You actions affect other people's lives. Let's just say you do go hypo under the waves. Your life is at risk. So too, perhaps, is that of your dive buddy. And the dive leader.
Yeah. This isn't like lying about your age to get a senior discount at the movie theater. (Not that I've ever done that.) This is big.
At the same time, I'm not sure this will be a big deal, or a huge cost for you. Given your good diabetes control, I bet your doc will sign the form for you at your next A1C, or visit for refills.
Then you can go for that test dive and see if scuba (and all those booooooooring healthy people) are really right for you.
This is not a medical advice column. We are PWDs freely and openly sharing the wisdom of our collected experiences — our been-there-done-that knowledge from the trenches. But we are not MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, CDEs, or partridges in pear trees. Bottom line: we are only a small part of your total prescription. You still need the professional advice, treatment, and care of a licensed medical professional.
Don't forget to ask your questions by emailing us here. Yeah, we got that fixed, so you can actually email us now.
