quick question, do you have any future plans for Smudge in your rewrite?

The thing about Smudge is that he would hate being a Clan cat, so he never joins Thunderclan. He is, however, given an expanded family.

His ancestor, appearing in ancient times as a Cat Of The Park, is Midge. She is adopted into a home with River Ripple's help, and expresses a desire to start a family. Unlike her friend, Rust, who never has children, staying as a lone farm cat.

Myler, from Mapleshade's Vengeance, is ALSO related to him! Ironic how much "wild blood" is in such a happy housecat who wants nothing more than to curl up on warm blankets and eat lamb pate for dinner. Myler was his great grandpa.

He is a guardian of Princess's kits. The 2 aren't mates, but Smudge is happy to help her by watching them and playing with them. Smudge is Ace! Also, one of Princess's kits lives in his other neighboring garden, though I haven't picked which one yet.

He actually joins Ravenpaw and Barley on their Quest to Skyclan, and might be joining Firestar and Sandstorm. One of his other ancestors is a Skyclan cat who left while their home was being destroyed. That cat's name was Sootberry, a black tom with a white spot on his forehead, who is the grandfather to Skyclan's Final Leader, Spiderstar. This is why Smudge gets visions of Skyclan.

His brother from a different litter is Fuzz! Meaning Bellaleaf and Rileypool are his niece and nephew. He actually does know Fuzz, though the two don't see each other often. This is the reason though that he joins Ravenpaw, Barley, Bella and Riley on their journey to Skyclan, and helps brings Ravenpaw's body home to the farm to bury. Without Smudge, they wouldn't have made it.

He also makes a minor appearance during Graystripe's Clan, where it is revealed that though Hattie's housefolk have moved away (to the Lake area where Velvet lives, because they are also Velvet's owners) but one of the members one Warriorclan lives there! His neighbor is Bugeater!

Au where only Mapleshade get kicked out of Thunderclan, not her kits.

She still almost drowns in the river and gets saved by Appledusk’s patrol, and is publiclyand openly rejected by Appledusk in front of all of Riverclan as a mistake he made, and that he feels nothing for her.

She is then kicked out of riverclan and still ends up at the barn, but this time is just upset about being forced from her home, rejected by the one she thought loved her, and forced to not be a part of her kits’ lives. All this she blames Appledusk for.

Why did he say and do everything he did if he was only going to throw her away in the end? So she sneaks back into Riverclan to confront him about it. He confirms that he doesn’t love her, and she needs to leave and stop messing up his life in Riverclan or he’ll make her leave.

As it turns out, since his kits dont die in this one, Darkstar is a lot less forgiving of Appledusks blatant disregard for the warrior code, and he blames Mappleshade for this. If she hadnt outed him in front of his clan, he could’ve gotten away with his little secret fun forever, at least in his mind.

Maple is pissed, but it’s Appledusk throws the first strike, reopening the wound Frecklewish had given Mapleshade. So Maple retaliates. Violently. She leaves him on the shore of the river, bleeding out into the water and returns to the farm because she has nowhere else to go.

She only tolerates Myler at first, mostly just moping alone about her situation and avoiding his attempts at conversation. But eventually, she grows to at least humor his questions about her life before the barn. She considers him to be a friend eventually.

Its the first time she’s felt like someone listed to and supported her without their own vendetta, the first time it was really just about her. Appledusk had only seen her as a fun experience and bailed when things got rough, Frecklwish had only been interested in her because she’d thought Maple’s kits were Birchfaces. For the first time in a long, long while, Maple feels like she has a proper friend.

Things take a step further when one of the farmer’s dogs gets loose in the barn. Mapleshade gets cornered before she has a chance to get to the hayloft, and Myler jumps in to save her. Mapleshade finds herself genuinely worried for him, something she hasn’t felt since her kits. She helps nurse him back to health, and in the process, the two become closer than ever.

A season or so later, Maple and Myler are expecting kits. A couple moons after that, Stormy, Brandy, and Sunset are born.

Before that though, i’ll be making a post about the OTHER HALF of this au, ie: Maple’s kits with Apple and how their lives change growing up in thunderclan

So like, what are certain "policy changes" in Bloodclan since Mapleshade founded it? I don't know how to word it, but mainly, what differences are there between that one and the Scourge founded one in the og story?

Well lots of things change from canon in this au.

First, Mapleshade's kits don't die, Mapleshade thinks logically about that and decides to wait a bit for the storm to pass. Mapleshade nearly shows up at Riverclan's camp only to overhear Appledusk and Reedshine being lovey dovey, peaces out. Then here's where the real kicker starts.

She meets "Myler", who suggests she create a "clan" or whatever she called it, as he's interested in the clan cats and how they work, and offers her a fang studded collar after seeing her scare off a dog. She accepts, seeing as the street cats might harm her kits if she doesn't show them who's boss. She appoints "Myler", who as it turns out, is actually called Bone, as her deputy and she's happy. Until one day when her son Larch is caught stealing prey from riverclan, and is severely wounded by, you guessed it, Appledusk. Mapleshade finds out, and is peeved. She tries to heal him, but without medical help, he dies. Maple is devastated, and declared war on the clans. She knows that even though Bloodclan has numbers, that won't do very much against the leaders who have several lives.

so maple comes up with the best idea.

Destroy the moonstone.

No moonstone, no lives, right? So she and her Bloodclan warriors enter mothermouth, and she orders them to start hacking away at it. After a few hours, they start making big cracks in it, and eventually shatter it into pieces. Mapleshade grabs a shard as a souvenir ( this is important later).

The battle commences, and Bloodclan, now with the true numbers advantage is winning. They end up taking over the clans, now with all of their leaders dead. Maple is still upset with the loss of her son though, and now with the moonstone shattered, how will she see him again? Suprise! Turns out the shard she picked up still works, and her son appears to her and thanks her for avenging him. Maple surprisingly doesn't do much after that. Content with her kits and clan.

Eventually, scourge takes over, and Rusty is invited to the clan, But Rusty feels that there's something wrong in Bloodclan, and hears whispers from seemingly nowhere about how he must right the wrongs and "Save the clans", but, there's only one clan, right?
