Going back to the roots with some designs for my potential MapleShade rewrite, still unsure how far i'll go with this idea but you know i love failwomen

Some character design notes under the cut because i am normal

FreckleWish Spiky and messy fur after BirchFace's death onwards; eyebag markings connect to lighter fur markings; constantly wide eyed

ReedShine Very tired look; ear tufts hang downwards; similar face shape to MapleShade post-reveal; tufts on fur aren't feathers, just long tufts of fur

AppleDusk His chest spots are suppose to resemble apple seeds; overall very square-ish shape; lighter face marking connects to his eyebrows.

RavenWing Very small and scrawny, fur "coat" makes him look bigger than he actually is; ears tilt down and cover eyes; raven feathers on cheek fluffs

I kinda want a Mapleshade au where she wasn’t actually hallucinating and her three dead ghost infants genuinely immediately turned to murderous revenge just like her.

No other reason then these three were the real victims in the story and also I think drawing patchkit, larchkit, and petalkit with genuine murderous intent in their eyes would be funny.

I decided to draw the warriors characters that still bring me at least a little bit of joy all on one canvas. Not all of them are there because of how they are in canon, some of them I like specifically because of my or other people's headcanons. I've got a list of like... 33 characters? But I think I'll be drawing them rather slowly, so I'll post some of them now.  I really like drawing those things that refer to the names or something behind cats' ears... Hawkfrost is way more fabulous in fandom view than in canon. I like his relationship with Tadpole really much, it's so underrated in the book. I'm not interested in Mothwing at all, so the lost potential of describing Hawkfrost's feelings about his brother just makes me sad. I don’t know much about Splashtail, but his similarities with Hawkfrost make him look irresistible to me, I’m weak :( I like all the plot-relevant characters from Mapleshade’s Vengeance who are not Mapleshade honestly. Frecklewish, Ravenwing, Appledusk and Reedshine most of all. Poor babies Squilf just the best. She’s cool, she’s pretty, wish she'd be with Shrewpaw, not with all these freaks. I don't like the fandom tendency to draw microkits and apprentices, so I draw kits really big (and apprentices like adults but more skinny and shorthaired). That's not a mistake!

Surprise Snow Angel AU part 2 - Mapleshade Boogaloo

BEHOLD!!!! Wherein Mapleshade double-kills Thistleclaw, is led from the Dark Forest by the Spirits of her kits, meets Swiftpaw and Brightpaw (sibling energy), tries to ward them off but instead gets convinced to train them to fight Tiger"star" (Starclan does not like him), is eventually confronted by her victims, laments her monstrous actions, gets to see her kits again, fights off the dogs with her past victims, yeets Tiger"star" into the river for hurting Brightpaw, kills him at the cost of her unlife, has a touching goodbye with her students, and has a spark of light escorted to Starclan (on the moon now you can't stop me).

Then Brightheart and Cloudtail have two kits, with Swifttail as honorary uncle. One looks familiar, but everyone Who Knows agrees to not put that pressure on her - she's named for a heroic molly who changed her ways, just as Whitekit is named for their leader.
