#Wayward son alternative ending

Ignore if you're not taking the parental caretaker and kid writing prompts. Can you do the "take me instead" prompt with Lilia and Silver in an alternate ending to the Playful Land event where Silver goes with Jamil and Idia to save everyone when they didn’t return? After trying to fight, Silver offers himself up as an exchange for everyone to the owner of the carnival, who either likes Silver or recognizes his heritage. Lilia, meanwhile, is helpless to say anything as he’s puppetfied, so can only watch as Silver exchanges his safety for his own.

"The crown jewel of my collection," the carnival owner breathes as if swept up in some avaricious vision and Lilia wants to vomit at the nauseating sight of his bejeweled fingers caressing a lock of silver hair (Lillia's own blessing!) between them as Silver stands rigidly still and stoic throughout the callous inspection, only the slight tensing of his jaw betraying his discomfort and unease at the truth this stranger seems to possess. "To waste your good looks and breeding on a simple soldier puppet? I wouldn't dream of it— to own a prince, yes . . . oh yes, that would certainly be a claim to fame like none other."

It's useless to struggle, but Lilia's never been very keen on submission, straining with all his might within the cage of his frozen limbs and the rictus of the ludicrous smile that blasted, thrice-damned fox has etched into his face (oh, once he gets his claws on the pair of them— there won't be a scrap of fur left after he tears them limb from limb). He has to continue to fight against the rotted wood corrupting his skin, he has to believe that there's some flaw to this insidious curse, a flaw that even he could exploit with the miniscule puddle of magic left in his soul, he can't— he can't allow this to happen! He cannot allow this boy— his son, his precious, golden-hearted child— to sacrifice himself for a dwindling old fae and his miscreant classmates who would easily turn their back on him if he was so far unsalvageable, there has to be another way!

"It's quite ironic though, wouldn't you say?" The carnival owner turns to grin at Lilia, all mangled teeth and glittering slot machine eyes, and Lilia's never wanted to forgo magic and punch someone with a demonstration of real fae might as furiously as he does now, to have the sick satisfaction of the man's face crumpling under his fist and revealing the candy floss and caramel stitching him together. "Who could have guessed that a child would end up to be the one running after their own wayward parent?"

He remembers now what shame tastes like, the bloated ache exploding on his tongue as the cruel words sink in and catch at a memory— a memory of ghosts and tricks and Silver staring at him in disbelief as if he'd shattered the very essence of who the boy thought he was. Silver with an expression of such heartbreaking confusion, having braved countless obstacles all to save his father whom he thought was in danger. . . only to realize that the man had helped to orchestrate the entire affair.

Silver, who like the true knight— no, like the true son he is— once again laying his own life on the line for his loved ones.

How could Lilia have allowed this to be the second Halloween that he's been so thoughtless and disappointed his son?

Fic idea that I am feral about right now because Wayward Son played on my walk this morning.

cw: Nikprice, alternative universe, mentions of torture, canon-typical violence, mention of internalised homophobia, Supernatural influences (sorry).

So, my partner commented on how Nikolai is like Price's guardian angel, because he always seems to be there when Price needs him (including when Price explicitly says it's a "one way trip"; Nik finds a way).

I laughed at the time, then promptly got headshot and threw the controller down, but wait.

What if he... is.

Sergeant Price dies in an Al Qaeda prison cell. They torture him for days, pushing his body into shock and then eventually into organ failure. Even with all the training, there's only so much a human body can take. Because he has done some pretty heinous shit already by this point, obviously his soul has a one-way ticket to the hot place and it ain't Mallorca.

But he has a fan.

An angel that has been watching him for a while. Price comes from a Protestant family, and he used to pray almost every night for god to make him "normal". To take away the unnatural feelings he had. To help him make his family proud. The angel used to listen and want to intervene, to tell him he's perfect the way he is, but there are rules.

After the... incident, Price stopped praying. (For those that know my headcanon, it's that, but I won't go into it here cause it would need a whole plethora of tags.)

The angel noticed.

In fact, he (we're going with that because it's Nik, but we all know angels are a... they? it?) misses the sound of Price's voice. He heads down to find out what happened and ends up visiting Price as he joins the service, becomes the very best, works hard, but always carries that deep sadness. He commits himself to getting dirty so others don't have to. Knowingly, given his faith, putting his soul on the line. The angel falls in love with Price, body and soul.

When Price dies, the angel can't stand the idea that someone who sacrificed for others is condemned to hell, simply because of what he had to do. So, he rebels. His last act before he is cast out is to wrench Price from hell and deposit him back into his body, and his first act on earth as one of the Fallen is to occupy the body of a lost and conflicted Russian Pilot, pushing him to accept the enticement of the US and the UK so Nik can reach Price. The guy has all but given up on life, so it's a mercy, really.

Price wakes up in an open mass grave and scrambles over to the corpses to safety. He doesn't know how or why, but he doesn't pause to think. He finds a radio, manages to get a message out, steals some weapons and some intel, blows the place sky high. Gets a medal.

The medics on base give him a clean bill of health but for some bruising and a broken bone or two. It's a bloody miracle.

A few weeks later, Price meets Nik for the first time because he's been drafted in as a pilot, and, for some reason, feels like he's known him for a lifetime. Nik thinks Price is the most beautiful thing in this world and the next, and wants to spend another few billion years looking into those blue-blue eyes.

The angel doesn't know why. Perhaps it's because he's so human. So flawed, so broken, so grizzled. Price isn't the dark underbelly of humanity and he's not the glittering hero; he is the scrappy, stubborn, imperfect, beautiful reality of the human condition, without apology.

To Nik, he's perfect.

And just... the heartbreak, the fear, the yearning, as Price falls for this tall, dark Russian who is always there. Always looks at him like he's worth something. Battling with the internal conflict of what he wants and what he should want, and realising the only thing holding him back now is the ghost of a man who can't hurt him anymore.

The betrayal, the disbelief, as Nik is forced to reveal what he is. The apology, the love confession, from both sides. The god damned wing kink when Nik takes them in the wilderness, high enough so that Price can almost touch god as Nik makes love to him for the first time; great, dark wings wrapped around them as if they could shield Price from ever being harmed again.

Nik ties his soul, his being, to Price's mortality. They'll grow old together, they'll turn grey, and after a billion years the angel will die at his lover's side, knowing that wherever their souls might end up, they will be together.

Jedi Survivor impressed me so, so much. I loved Fallen Order, but I genuinely feel like Survivor was on another level. A few things I loved, full game spoilers ahead...

Cal genuinely feels so much older and more mature. It's incredible how much his interactions with the Mantis crew feel like a wayward adult son coming home again after a long time away.

Cal and Merrin's romance was beautifully built up and paid off, felt totally natural. Importantly for me, it required both of them to move the needle; Merrin to definitively make the first move and let Cal know she wants him, and Cal to finally acknowledge that he wants her too, that he isn't really a Jedi and that they weren't right about everything.

Cal using the Dark Side is portrayed as dangerous, but not inherently evil. The game does not vilify or punish Cal for using it, in fact, it does the opposite; it essentially says that it was necessary for Cal to embrace his darkness in order for him to survive. Importantly, it shows that even the darkness can be controlled; when Cal first uses it on Nova Garon, he nearly loses himself in it, but Merrin calls him back. When he uses it again on Tanalorr, he is in complete control of it, calmly using it to lift Bode off of him and partially disarming him before letting it subside. Merrin's final monologue to Kata in the ending says it all; your pain, your loss, it will always be a part of you. But it doesn't have to define you. Both Dagan and Bode let their pain and loss consume their entire lives, and it led directly to their respective ends.

When Cal kills Bode, he does so quietly and with no anger, and only after offering him multiple chances to surrender, all of which he rejected violently. Cal killed Bode not out of vengeance, but because it was clear that Bode was beyond reason. He was never going to stop. He was never going to accept any outcome other than the one that he had decided was best. And even then, Cal quietly takes a moment alone to mourn him, and respectfully gives him a Jedi funeral alongside his two mentors.

The entire final chapter is such a beautiful contrast to the first game's. Fallen Order had you storming Fortress Inquisitorious, fighting hoards of the game's hardest enemies and concluded with a bombastic escape sequence. The atmosphere was alternately oppressive, tense and exciting, full of mechanical reds and blacks. Tanalorr is the complete opposite; it is quiet and calm, an organic place of white rocks and blue plants. There are no enemies there other than Bode, a man whose paranoia has isolated him from everyone in his life, including the daughter he supposedly loves so much. When you find him, he is not even with her. When you beat him, there is no bombast. This is not a victory to be celebrated; it is a tragedy, one that you tried to avoid, but was seemingly inevitable.

"Ghost Star," the lullaby you hear Kata singing as you approach the final battle, is so stunningly beautiful and thematically appropriate that I am appalled there wasn't a full orchestral version of it playing over the credits.

So yeah, there's probably some other stuff I'll post about later, but man, Survivor really kinda blew me away.

Alternative ending to Supernatural:

So the supernatural finale was very anticlimactic and sad, so I have a better one:

Okay, so, after Cas gets taken by the empty, instead of him just “being dead” Jack brings him back (cuz he is super powered now)

He is able to reunite with Dean and Sam and heals Dean when he got kebab-ed. Cas decides to keep hunting with the winchesters, saving people, stopping the apocalypses, etc.

After a few years, Dean and Cas convince Sam to live the normal live he always wanted too. They are sad he isn’t hunting with them anymore, but they always keep in touch. He finishes his degree and marries Eileen, and they sometimes join Dean and Cas on hunts.

Dean and Cas use the men of letters base to start a countrywide hunting operation where hunters can share information, weapons, ideas, and collaborate on jobs. (Similar to the Men of Letters, but MUCH better)

The amount of monster related deaths goes way down, and Dean finally gets a part time job. He still hunts and runs the hunting network, but he is able to do a lot more delegating. Both Cas and Dean help run it, so there’s always someone to help get extra information or help on a hunt.

He settles down, though even when he is old, he is still going on hunts. He and Sam meet up all the time, though Sam isn’t sure that it’s a good idea because Dean keeps teaching his son cuss words. (Best uncle ever)

Many years later, Dean dies on a hunt, protecting a family, as he expected to. Cas had told him beforehand that he shouldn’t be hunting at his age, but even old Dean is very stubborn. Sam dies from old age when his time comes not to long after.

Their lives of protecting people lands them in heaven, and Cas spends a lot of his time up there, either hanging with them, or advising Jack.

The hunter society they put together still stands, and in the end, they are proud of their time on earth. (And no one gets randomly kebab-ed!!)

Primarch Lore: The F.P.S.-0 files.

I wanna info dump about 40k. So I'm posting about obscure Primarch lore and memes thereof. Deal with it.

In today's post, we will discuss less-spoken of lore, theories, and fan stuff involving The Primarch Project broadly. Mostly fan interpretations and their effects on you, the fan.

-Primarch Negative 1, Sigmar Heldenhanmer.

Not actually a Primarch so I'm doing him first before anything else.

Sigmar Heldenhanmer was born to mortal parents in The Old World and his arrival was heralded by a comet leaving a twin-tailed streak in the sky. But he isn't from Warhammer 40k. He's from Warhammer's other universe(s) Warhammer Fantasy (Also called Oldhammer because it was the original line) and Age of Sigmar, the latter being the current incarnation because it's an in-continuity reboot that Sigmar himself created after trading a magical amulet to a god. I don't believe I'm making that up. His world was destroyed in an "end times" scenario and a space-traveling god wanted some jewelry off him so let him remake the planet.

Yeah, so Sigmar isn't a Primarch, though he did found an entire empire with his first life. Like The Emperor of Mankind (Sigmar himself also being called "The God-Emperor) or any of his wayward sons would. So a common meme or sometimes even a fan theory is that Sigmar's home world, Mallus (Which has a lot of continental similarities to Earth) is, in fact, a part of the 40k universe. The Imperium just hasn't reconnected with it yet, or alternatively they did, which is why Sigmar vanished after a while. He was simply declared insane or unfit for purpose and then killed. Making him either Primarch 2 or 11, who we will talk about later. The comet can be seen as his incubation pod crashing into Mallus.

So yeah. Negative One because WHFantasy predates the very concept of Primarchs (Which were not a thing until 3rd edition) inand he's more like the Proto-Emperor, though some of his narrative elements were used later for the Primarchs. Anyway.

-Primarch 0 (Zero), AKA The Angel Of Destruction, The Sleeper, or just The Angel. (Art by AcolyteNaerina)

Originally written about in 2003's "Inquisitor Conspiracies 2- Death Of an angel," PZ as I will call him was an entity the emperor made to help with his conquests. Sadly PZ was not a very good tool. This is how The Emperor sees most of his sons btw. He's not a great person. Not the point of the post tho. The Angel was basically indestructible and when he razed most of a planet, The Emperor had to force him into a deep slumber to render him even able of being executed. Unfortunately this goal was unfulfilled as someone smuggled PZ out of the appropriate channels and layed his immortal slumbering ass to rest on the planet he basically burned the surface of.

That was until a Daemon Prince PZ fought and bested while awake resurfaced. The plot of the DND-ass supplement PZ was in fills in the rest. The Inquisitors (Made up of the players) freed him from his coffin, directed his righteous fury at the Daemon Prince, and then sealed his blue-flame sword-wielding self back in the same coffin again, sealing it hopefully permanently this time as it turned out PZ had gone full genocide against ALL of humanity, believing us to all be fated to fall to the evil forces of Chaos.

Being immune to psychic and physical attacks and being a one-man city taker, PZ and his glorious blue-flaming sword and even more glorious angel wings, paint a picture that a lot of fans have inferred but PZ has never been referenced outside of the DOAA supplement in an official capacity so it is just fan speculation, PZ is "Primarch Zero." An in-universe prototype of The Emperor's other sons.

Albeit the timing doesn't make a a whole lot of sense considering he was used on a planet that WASN'T Terra (Earth) but considering the stuff Emps could have went through before meeting his son's for the first time... Well... It's not entirely impossible to just say the world was closer to Terra than the rest. Again, it must be stressed, PZ may not actually be a Primarch. But so many little things line up that the theory sticks around when people know about him.

-Primarch 2, The Forgotten AKA (Redacted) of The ████████, once called (unknown)

-Primarch 11, The Purged, AKA (Censored) of The (Deleted), once called (Removed)

This is one of the weirder ones for 40k fans who knows it. But these two have SOME record of existence. The Meta reason for them not being around anymore is for fans to make their own interpretations and theories about them, but we can talk about the little bits of lore that hint at what happened to them.

This official 40k art I can't find an artist for depicts the Imperial Palace. Note the statues on tower-esque plinths. Note that some of the plinths are vacant but of the visible ones we see loyalists. Sanguinius, Rogal Dorn, Jaghatai Kahn, and I don't know who's on the far left.

The point is that during the Great Crusade, a campaign spearheaded by The Emperor to find and reunite humanity with the background goal of getting his sons back, scattered as our species was after the great catastrophe of Old Night/The age of strife, two of these plinths were rendered empty. For a reason implied by Sanguinius.

Sanguinius and his legion, The Blood Angels, suffer from a desire most dark and detestable. They crave human blood. If they yield to this temptation too much or don't do it enough, they begin to mutate and start to go full monster about it. Sanguinius has put down some of his own sons because after a point it's the only way to stop them. He confessed this truth to one of his brothers, Horus, and then reflected on the idea that he did not want a third plinth rendered empty for reasons beyond his or his sons control. This implies that that at least one of them fell to mutations or psychopathic instincts.

It's also implied that Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, killed these two brothers. Or at least one of them as, when sent after Magnus The Red, he mentioned not wanting to kill one of his brothers "again." It's some very interesting stuff.

However GW left a lot of the specific details of who these guys are and what they actually did up to speculation and some of the details don't always make sense. Like Roboute Guilliman suggesting they "Failed," in a conversation with a high lord of Terra.

The Meta reason back when Primarchs became established as a lore point is so people could paint up their Marines however they wanted but now, given how many chapters there are, the fact that some don't know their true parentage, Gene-seed can be Chimeric in nature, etc. you don't even need to use the Lost Primarchs for that. But you can.

That's all I feel vomiting onto this website. Y'all have a good one. Glory be to the Emperor and his sons, remembered, true, or otherwise.

Levi and Eren stared as Hange dropped his tooth in a zip lock bag and sealed the end.

“...that’s for the tooth fairy,” they added.

“It’s not,” Levi contradicted them quietly, so that Eren could hear.

Following a particularly rough patch in their marriage, Hange and Levi decide to split. With Hange working abroad at a prestigious university, Levi becomes the sole guardian of their adopted teenage son, Eren. It’s a simple life of household chores, garden maintenance and life lessons given over steaming cups of tea. 

Then, when Hange returns and invites Eren to work in their lab with them, Levi finds himself with an unexpected custody battle on his hands. Before his parents march off to court to wage war, Eren hatches a desperate plan. If successful, it might just be enough to remind this wayward pair that they belong together…

All Systems Red by Martha Wells (audiobook) - I drove down to Yosemite with my sister for a vacation and suggested that we listen to the Murderbot Diaries on our trip. So yes, this is the third time I've read this book in the last year. Still a lot of fun. 

Artificial Conditions by Martha Wells (audiobook). When listening to them back to back (rather than with a couple of months in between, it does help to see it as one big arching story. I still love ART and hope to see it again.

Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells (audiobook). I must say, I still struggle to completely understand the intricacies of the plot on this one. But I do love MICKY.

The Second Chance Year by Melissa Wiesner. A random pickup at the library - magical realism and some oblivious pining. I liked the characters and their growth.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. It's been a long time since I was a teenager, but this was a great book in the form of poems. Would have been great as an audiobook, as the author is a beat poet.

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell (audiobook). I thought Euan Morton's voice was great the first book (Carry On), and just not as consistent with this one. I do love a road trip across America though.

The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai - a novel about the AIDS epidemic in Chicago alternating with one of the characters dealing with the aftermath 30 years later. I have some quibbles about the structure of the novel, but it was engrossing and well written. My book club will be discussing this in August. 

Half A Soul by Olivia Atwater. A regency fairy tale. I would have liked a little more motivation of the fairies, but I did enjoy the exploration of social justice from a magical perspective. 

The Lord Sorcier by Olivia Atwater. Short story prequel. Added some nice character development.

Ten Thousand Stitches by Olivia Atwater. Sequel to above. I liked this one even better than the first one - the main fairy MC was endearing and I loved the romance, as well as the twisting of fairy tale motifs. It was fun.

Longshadow by Olivia Atwater. The last book so far in this series. I felt it was a touch heavy on the preachiness and I didn't really buy the romance, but I still enjoyed it. Also, I love how nerdy the author gets in her author notes at the end.

Chapter Synopsis: Suzie and Sean have been taken and it's up to Coach and Ian to find them and stop the demon king!    

Author Comment:  Ah yes, Suzie has her priorities straight. Heaven forbid the potential end of the world ruin her grades.

And we end this episode on a big mystery. This was a fun chapter to do, I’m very excited about The Instigator. Meta humor is a bit overdone these days, I know, but I’m trying to be clever with it and not make it too annoying. There are probably people out there who hate all meta humor so they won’t like that part of the Instigator, but hopefully he has enough of a fun personality to make up for that.

If people couldn’t figure it out, this episode was based on the Supernatural show. Manchester is a reference to Winchester, Ian’s name has a similar meaning to Sam and Dean’s dad, Sean is a combination of Sam and Dean, the opening is a reference to how Supernatural starts, the weapons in the trunk of a car similar to the Empala, the Contractor demons were based on Crossroads demons, the song is an alternate version of “Carry on My Wayward Son”, Sean’s insistence that he’s ‘fine’ when he’s not fine, and probably a few other things I forgot to mention.

I know there were major setbacks when the comic lost its host website, but I’m determined to keep chugging forward as best I can.

I went cold turkey on supernatural after it ended cause I was distraught and I haven’t seen anything from The Winchester but finding out what’s been happening is so funny. Dead in Vegas (which is woefully unfinished at the moment, but I swear will be some day) is my COBB fic from last year. I was paired up with the extremely talented @ingridnixie who produced an art piece that perfectly captures the first chapter.

I knew I wanted to write an action fic, and thought the characters to translate well into various secret agents. Before diving into chapter one, I actually outlined what each of the main agents profiles would be. I'll just share the two that matter for chapter 1 under the cut (along with a lot of additional commentary).

The story is meant to take place over 4 days (Friday night through Monday morning) and thus was originally only 4 chapters, but Saturday and Sunday have too much going on...

Anyway, Chapter 1: Friday. This was the original outline:

Mission and Trap - Lamb killed

On the Run - who are these mystery assailants?

Contact with HQ lost - nothing on them can be trusted, step 1 - secure a new safe house location - this is how they end up gambling to get money and at a hotel together posed as a couple (why a couple? Because they need a cover. Why not just be friends? That is somehow harder for them to pull off, their bickering is more believable as a couple.)

A truce is called!

You'll notice I originally had the idea they would gamble to get the money to cover a room, but hotels on the strip require a credit card and I while everyone in the comments scolded Simon for carrying one, it worked well as a plot device to get Baz to learn Simon's name and for them to more believably secure a hotel room.

Which was always going to be Excalibur. I mean, how could it not?

I've been to Vegas like 10+ times and really only know the strip, so I feel much more comfortable writing about this particular slice of the city. Still, it took me a while to figure out where I wanted to place The Katherine considering nothing in Wayward Son really indicates where it is. But I basically made it replace part of the Aria 😅.

The inspiration for all The Flock imagery is pulled from Lamb and The Katherine. The lamb head for our lovely gang boss and the six crow wings are a tribute to all the black birds in the lobby of the hotel.

This chapter took me FOREVER!!!!!!!! to write and most of that comes down to combat. This fic has a lot of action scenes in it (naturally) and for the fight between Simon and Lamb, I watched so many action movie clips to try and understand the movement and flow of the fight. I also sat at my desk a lot and just like, moved my arms around, pretending. At one point, I even sketched out what Lamb's living room setup is like so I could move them properly around the space.

Oh and I was worried at some of my google searches for this fic put me on a government black list. Like researching sniper rifles and then googling the distance between various resorts.

Anyway, this has been long enough. I really do love this fic and it holds a special place in my heart and brain, so thank you for this ask!

had a really long dream, let's see how much i can put together.

one of my friends gets caught with illegal substances and sent to the disciplinary committee, she's very scared because she's on a scholarship. i suggest she call my ex and other people who have been sent to the committee to learn how to deal with it. there's a dog in my room and I'm annoyed about it and my roommate and i are fighting because of the dog.

i am in the city. there's some kind of street drawing fair, tables set up on the road with art materials, so I'm drawing a ship manifesto when i see some people from my college including the friend who got sent to the committee earlier. i don't pay attention to them, I'm busy, but after I'm done i go over and ask what's up. the hearing went well so they're out partying, but some cops confiscated the substances they had and somehow this is my fault. i suggest that i have some stuff in my room and I'll go get it if someone is willing to come with me.

this girl is willing to. we walk back to campus through strangely-sketched looking streets, all the houses leaning in and the ground looking like the pockmarked surface of the moon. we talk lightly about it but it's not important.

at the gate, there are dogs, badly controlled and violent. one of them nearly bites me. they're sniffing for contraband, of which we have none right now, but I'm afraid they'll smell it on our way out and the guards aren't doing anything to control the dogs so i suggest to her that we take another route into campus and she agrees.

alternate route leads through a deserted patch of ground, bracketed on both far sides by some shops. there's a guy there holding a whip, one of our classmates, and he immediately starts hitting us? i am very confused and angry and ask him what the fuck is going on, he says we've humiliated him, and i tell him i don't even know who he is. he believes me and focuses on the other girl, beating the shit out of her while i run to the shop to request aid. the shopkeepers are confused and reluctant and I'm really angry and scared and i don't know exactly how this bit ends. I ask to see their family history though, and a guy nearby helps me to locate this one in the family history, which is full of very rich and very powerful people. this guy used to be a champion wrestler and caused a bunch of grievous injuries but failed to make friends in college and the girl i was with, apparently, teased him for it.

i manage to plead convincingly with the shopkeepers to do something about their wayward and violent son and they agree, calling the rest of the family for a meeting about the matter at which both i and the other girl are present, and asked to testify. we provide as much evidence as we can but we don't want to testify publicly, afraid of his retribution, even though the family keeps assuring us we'll be fine.

on campus: we've been given separate housing for safety while she and i recover. more doors and windows to lock and more space. we talk about how nice it is but we're still paranoid because we still can't do anything without risking discipline. she's pretty traumatized, i feel guilty.

some of our friends come to visit and have a pointless and funny argument and i can't relax the whole time.

eventually i get used to going out again, and explore a historical part of the city with my family. there's a moment somewhere where i almost manage to have an honest conversation with him but that doesn't happen for long. we watch women pretending to be the king's harem play with flowers that fan out and buy candy.

Apple TV+ debuts trailer for SciFi series “Dark Matter"

Apple TV+ has just dropped the trailer for its much-anticipated sci-fi thriller series, “Dark Matter,” and it’s already creating a buzz in the entertainment world. The series, which stars Joel Edgerton and Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly, is set to make its global debut on May 8, 2024, with a storyline that promises to captivate audiences with its exploration of alternate realities and the essence of identity. Dark Matter is based on the novel by Blake Crouch. It stars Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen, who has a nice life with his wife (Jennifer Connelly) and son (Oakes Fegley). He does mysterious science work and seems happy enough until one night he is abducted and wakes up in a world that’s very, very different. The summary spells it all out: Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, Dark Matter is a story about the road not taken. The series will follow Jason Dessen (played by Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself. The series also stars Westworld’s Jimmi Simpson and A Murder at the End of the World’s Alice Braga. Crouch himself is the series’ writer and showrunner—his third time working on an adaptation of his own work (he co-created Good Behavior with Chad Hodge, and was a writer for Hodge’s adaptation of Wayward Pines).    The trailer, which has garnered over 1.9 million views since its release, teases a series filled with suspense, emotion, and existential twists.
