Inspired by the real story of a high school American-football coach and his team’s participation in the 2004 season. The fall and rise of one of the most consistent team, especially after holding a record for the longest winning streak, what happens when it was broken unexpectedly? Do the players lose the confidence, coach be clueless, parents go crazy and media annoys them, is what neatly this film narrated. It looked nice to me and I had a good time, but it was too long and not inspiring as the other sports film based on the true events. From the director of ‘Coach Carter’, another decent sports film. I am not disappointed because I was not expecting to be a masterpiece, though not bad for once viewing. All the actors were good, especially it is Jim Caviezel’s one of the major roles and he was amazing. American-football was always been an Americas sport, so I never interested in it except watching films based on them for inspiration. Especially after ‘Conccusion’, my interest on them dropped further. Whatever I said is not a reason to skip the film. As a film, it did the right thing to portray the real life achievers on the screen to boost the young sports persons. Only to me it was just an above average, but for many others, it is one of the best sports film of the year. Forget the American-football, what I liked was, achievements are good for our progress and make a career, but sometimes there’s much more than making records in the games. So it’s a good moral lesson film than a fine entertaining film. I won’t recommend it, but definitely not a waste of time. 6.5/10

Hip-hop works fast – and to be involved is to celebrate the past but to not miss the future. As the 50th anniversary of hip-hop is upon us, the mission to shock, puncture, and uplift people is still concretely pertinent.
Brought to you by get.hiphop, helping artists to strengthen their brand with a .hiphop domain name, here are the ten most important moments in hip-hop history, involving Southern rap stalwarts, petulant geniuses, streetwear fashion, rappers with eclectic taste, and traditionalists with untimely deaths.
It’s a bunch of different things y’all, indicative of the glorious diversity of hip-hop.

10. “Wu-Tang Is For the Children”
Although rappers interrupting awards shows to dubiously fight for their place in history shows up later on this list, when Ol’ Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan did it, it felt zany and radically thrilling. After losing to Shawn Colvin for Song of the Year at the 1998 Grammys, Ol’ Dirty Bastard — draped in a red blazer and white flag — arrived on stage to proclaim “Wu-Tang is for the children!”
Hip-hop would continue to miss out on major awards. To see Ol’ Dirty go on stage wasn’t a drunken moment from one of music’s wildest entertainers, but a plea to take hip-hop seriously at the Grammys. As we know, hip-hop still might have a long way to go before receiving its props at the Grammys.
9. Def Jam Records Is Formed
The record producer Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons founded the seminal rap label in 1984, signing Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and DMX, among others. If the ‘80s was the golden age of hip-hop, then Def Jam was ground zero for the time.
8. Eric B. & Rakim Usher Release Paid in Full:
Jay-Z once said that when Rakim released his first record, the gap between him and other rappers was as wide as it has ever been. The God MC was crisp and lucid; efficient and seasoned. Paid in Full was the benchmark that all rappers looked at if they were serious. If Big Daddy Kane was an exploitation character, then Rakim made it cool to be smart.
7. Rap City Debuts
Rap City was a showcase for talent and the varied elements of hip-hop, showing the outfits, a rambunctious swagger, and clear-eyed raps. Hosted by hype-men Joe Clair and Big Tigger, the program was seminal for any hip-hop fan. It’s not possible to pick the best moment, but here are some of the highest highlights: the Dipset freestyle with Cam’ron in a bucket hat counting cash made people into fans; Lil Wayne rapping “Live From The 504” with Birdman behind him, was a showcase for one of rap’s child prodigies turned legend. Or it might be when Bone Thugs showed up. It was a different style of rapping than Rap City was used to. All that mattered was if you could rap.
6. Pharrell Creates Billionaire Boys Club
Billionaire Boys Club isn’t the first fashion line created by a hip-hop artist — Rocawear and Sean John had their moment in the sun, too. But BBC felt different, and was different. It’s credited with being the first fashion label to combine Black streetwear with high fashion, which eventually became the mission of Virgil Abloh, who died in 2021. Debuting in the “Frontin’” video, Pharrell Williams’s fashion line completely eradicated the idea that hip-hop clothes could not be considered chic and high fashion.
Now, 20 years later, Pharrell is running Louis Vuitton’s men’s collection! This marks the beginning of that journey. Hip-hop hasn’t been the same after Pharrell introduced his label to high fashion.
5. ASAP Yams and ASAP Rocky Bring New York Back With 2011’s Live. Love. ASAP
In the aftermath of the boom bap – Jay-Z and G-Unit and Dipset’s reign – New York had lost its footing to the hooks of the Southern rappers who roared like bears finding food. All that philosophical and five-percenter talk went stale. It became a land of 808s and snares over sardonic one liners.
Then ASAP Rocky’s Live. Love. ASAP came around. ASAP Yams, his partner, had told Rocky to learn how to rap like everyone. That is where the deeply-pleasing and broad-raging music on that mixtape comes from. “Bass” sounds like it could have been a Bone Thugs song; “Trilla” sounds indebted to Houston. All the while, the Harlem-bred Rocky was nonchalantly charismatic. Live. Love. ASAP was the moment that New York became whole again.
4. Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift
It wasn’t Kanye West’s place to interrupt Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards — it wasn’t West’s category that she won, it was Beyonce’s. And it was gauche — an example of the emotional awareness and intelligence that West has lacked throughout his public life. Award shows are a formality for television — a place where celebrities perform and legacies get built. Taylor Swift winning over Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” — which many think was superior to Taylor’s “You Belong With Me” – wasn’t this blow to Black creativity. Black artists will always shine, it’s in our blood.
The only person this served was Kanye West and his fragile but massive ego. His need to interrupt was from a grim need for attention. West might have been right that night, but he has been wrong plenty of other nights. This night changed Kanye West’s relationship to popular culture and stretched the racial tension and gender dynamics between Black men and white women further.
All that came to head on The Life of Pablo’s “Famous”, where he says; “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that bitch famous.”
3. Outkast Proclaims “The South Got Something to Say”
Just thirty years ago, people above the Mason Dixon Line didn’t take Southern rap seriously. Even after Andre 3000 proclaimed that “the South had something to say” at the 1995 Source Awards, people didn’t think Southern rap was the graceful ballet that East Coast rap was.
That was dumb, considering that UGK and Outkast were at their peak at the same time. At the Source Awards, Andre put the whole rap map on notice, and the South hasn’t looked back since. Some now consider Atlanta the capital of hip-hop.
2. DJ Kool Herc Hosts His “Back to School Jam”
On Aug. 11, 1973, 18-year-old DJ Kool Herc threw a “Back to School Jam” for his sister Cindy in the South Bronx — in the rec room at 1520 Sedgwick Ave. What was intended as a neighborhood celebration changed the course of music, as Herc unveiled a new technique involving looping the drum and percussion breaks from his record collection. In an instant, two of the foundational elements of hip-hop came together in an utterly unique way. Herc invented “the break” by using two turntables – and two copies of the same album – to extend a song’s instrumental, which was often its most highly percussive portion. During these sections, he’d invite dancers to improvise over the beats, leading to the birth of breakdancing. Hip-hop soon exploded in the Bronx and beyond, and though Herc’s own music never became as well-known as other genre pioneers, his skills as a host and DJ created rap music as we know it. August 11 is now Hip-Hop Celebration Day and International Hip-Hop Day.
1. The Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur are murdered
Both men were charismatic, both men were larger than life personalities, both men were murdered within a year of each other. If Biggie is for the rap heads, then Pac was a cultural figure on the level of Bob Marley. Pac was dynamic at rapping. He could have sounded like he was from anywhere. He rapped with vigor instead of a sniper’s accuracy. He was his own creation. All Eyez on Me is a love letter to Bay Area rap, and has some of the more elastic flows of Pac’s career. (He is the best rapper on “Got My Mind Made Up”, with Redman and Method Man on it).
On the other hand, Biggie once rapped “I’m seeing body after body and the Mayor Giulaini ain’t trying to see a Black man turn to John Gotti.” On hit singles like “Mo Money Mo Problems,” he alludes to federal agents tapping his phones. Notorious bent the line between street politics and pop music. When we lost these men, hip-hop lost two generational talents that had feuded with each other for no reason. Hip-hop was on the precipice of taking over the globe, and has become the premier musical genre for an entire generation. When you think of what they could have done peacefully coexisting, their murders seem all that much more tragic.

Open Letter to “Trump’s Preachers”
by Dr. Frederick Haynes III and Colleagues
Tumblr media
Dear Colleagues in Christ:
With heartbreak, yet hope, we reach out to you in the name of our Lord and Liberator, Jesus, the Christ. It was unsettling and upsetting to witness the meeting with you, our moral leaders, and one of the most amoral persons to ever occupy the White House in the name of discussing prison reform.
We are sure it must have been intoxicating to walk the corridors of power and sit at the table of governing authority. Unfortunately, those precincts of power have been infected by white supremacy and moral bankruptcy. Dr. Cornel West is correct, “we are in the spiritual eclipse of decency, honesty and integrity,” leaving our nation in the chaotic shadows of emboldened racism, ugly xenophobia, predatory patriarchy and unvarnished greed.”
Given your proximity to power and your “seat at the table” in this toxic, political climate, it’s painfully disappointing that instead of being prophetic clergy persons you became presidential cheerleaders. We could never imagine the eighth century prophets cheering the kings of Judah and Israel who were in similar political climates. We know John the Baptist wasn’t content to cheer Herod on and express his gratitude and honor for a seat at the table, declaring that Herod was the most “pro-Jewish king in our lifetime.”
We need not remind you of the posture of the Prince of Peace, our Savior from the streets, when He stood before Herod and Pilate. He didn’t even pray for them. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was quoted yesterday but not emulated. Dr. King had a seat at the table at the White House, but he brought the menu of a civil and voting rights agenda to Presidents who transformed the nation.
It was errantly exclaimed that “this is probably going to be the most pro-Black president that we’ve had in our lifetime…” Were the fumes from the intoxicating toxins that strong? Was he being pro-Black while building his political platform as the number one purveyor of birtherism, which was fueled by racism? Is it pro-Black to label Black NFL players protesting racial injustice in the criminal justice system you were there to reform, “SOBs?” That’s what your pro-Black president did. Was he at his pro-Black finest and most eloquent when he referred to countries of color as “s-hole countries?”
Was he being pro-Black when he equivocated during the white supremacist rally and violence in Charlottesville, that left one person dead and more than a dozen injured, declaring there were “very fine people on both sides?” Was he pro-Black when he appointed a white supremacist, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions (who was deemed too racist to be a judge by a bipartisan panel and Coretta Scott King) to serve as Attorney General? Did your cheerleading blind you to the fact that the policies of Sessions contradict and overrule the prison reform you were cheering for? Attorney General Sessions wants to stall a federal review of police departments where racial profiling, excessive use of force and racially discriminatory police practices have been exposed.
During the Obama Administration (who was disparaged during the meeting to the delight of 46-1), the Justice Department began 25 investigations into police departments and sheriff’s offices and resolved civil rights lawsuits filed against police departments in more than 15 cities. Sessions is stopping and reversing these investigations and consent decrees. Were you cheering for Trump and this Justice Department to continue to ignore the broken body of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, the last gasps of Eric Garner in New York, the slain body of Michael Brown in Ferguson, the aborted life of Tamir Rice in Ohio and so many others? Are you cheering for his “law and order” dog whistle calls that encourage over policing and underserving of our communities? You do know his attorney general also has plans to restart the “War on Drugs,” which was really a war on Black and Brown communities!
We are sure you recognize the importance of judicial appointments in criminal justice and prison reform. The president you cheered for contradicts real reform with his appointments of judges. While purporting to be concerned about prison reform and the negative effects of mass incarceration on communities of color, Trump’s actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the welfare of people of color by pushing judicial nominees with disturbing records on racial equity issues into lifetime positions as judges, which will have ramifications in the lives of people of color long after he has left the White House. Of the 87 judicial nominations Trump has made, 80 are whites who have made careers in undermining civil rights, while only one is African-American.
We understand that the stated intent of the White House has been to focus its criminal justice reform efforts on improving re-entry, rehabilitation and workforce training programs. That’s nice, but if you have a room filled with spider webs wouldn’t you clean the webs AND remove the spider? You cheered him on for removing a few webs, but you didn’t prophetically challenge him to remove the spiders of sentencing reform, ending the money bail system, profiteering from prisons, and the caste system who author, Michelle Alexander insightfully deconstructs in her book, The New Jim Crow. One of the biggest and most venomous spiders is the school to prison pipeline that begins with expulsions of Black and Brown children from school. Expulsions push our children into juvenile court systems and they commence their passage through the pipeline to prison.
Since you’ve been selected to serve on the front-lines of prison reform, as your colleagues, who have been doing this work and fighting to eliminate the spiders of injustice, we would be remiss if we didn’t give you resources for your new assignment. We encourage you to read the aforementioned, The New Jim Crow. And Paul Butler’s, Chokehold. He documents and declares how police officers, politicians, and ordinary people are afraid of Black men. The result is the chokehold: laws and practices that treat every African-American man like a thug. The former federal prosecutor shows that the system is working exactly the way it’s supposed to. Black men are always under watch, and police violence is widespread—all with the support of judges and politicians.
Add to your justice edification Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy. Stevenson is a gifted attorney who is engaged in the work of criminal justice reform and testifies that mercy can be redemptive and offers a challenge and tools for fixing this broken system that has resulted in destroying lives, dismantling families and devastating our communities.
Our beloved colleagues, the leader of the free world you met with has a contagious narcissism that has given him a Messiah complex. Please remind him of the first-person pronouns that saturate the model prayer, “Our,” “us” and “we.” No one can overhaul the criminal justice system alone. Remember the wisdom of the Apostle Paul, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.” The flowering of criminal justice reform will require all of our hands for this great work.
Our dear colleagues, the man you met with yesterday during his divisive and incendiary campaign asked the Black community repeatedly, “What do you have to lose?” In less than two years we’ve lost a lot and you have become his cheerleaders with a collar.
We are praying for you. We invite you to join us in dialogue that will prophetically challenge the poison of Trump’s politics, while we work to develop our underserved communities. We are called to speak truth to power. May God give us the courage and power to tell the truth.

Toni Land “Frankenstein”
Tumblr media
Across the span of six albums (including her latest release – Its Good) Toni Land, a Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter has revealed her humanity to us. Stories from a real person on a real journey of truth-telling and soul-searching. From her roots listening to the rock and pop of the 70s, and through playing with her first bands in the 80s, she was suddenly taken in the 1990s by the sounds of acoustic guitars and acoustic instruments. That sound then became the heart of her music. Though she’s never been a traditional folk or country singer (her lyrics and attitude never really jibed with those genres), her music draws on and mixes those influences with a lifetime of others to create a unique sound – call it Toni music. She has been described as surefooted in her travels between country and folk and has earned comparisons to Sheryl Crow, Shawn Colvin and Lucinda Williams. For over twenty years and until his passing in 2016, Toni worked with legendary Northwest producer/music director, Tim Ellis, together creating some of Toni’s best known work (What the Heart Knows, Lucky Cat, Deep in Diamonds and Chocolate Cake for Breakfast). Recently she teamed up with multi-talented producer/engineer, Jim Walker to record what became her brand new EP, Its Good. Toni has earned a reputation for her dynamic crowd-wowing live performances. She has played return engagements at many of the West Coasts largest festivals, including the California Avocado Festival in Santa Barbara, North by Northwest and Oregon’s Bite of Portland. Toni is a woman who can straddle the intimate, acoustic songster and dynamic full throttle performer like few can do. As a stellar songwriter, she has earned publishing and production deals throughout her career. Her first single, Have You Ever Seen Your Real Love, landed on the Top 40 Adult/Contemporary Chart and earned Land a national distribution deal. From then on, radio stations have played her music all over the world. She was voted in the Top Ten Artists poll by Radio 98.6 listeners in Berlin. Her song, Good For Me made it to the #4 position on MP3.com on their Triple A Chart. Land has been awarded Best Songwriter by the International Acoustic Music Awards as well as the Portland Songwriter Association. Toni has a Masters Degree and works as a children’s speech pathologist and has a certification as an Autism Specialist. She began incorporating music more and more into her love of working with kids, and has now merged the two into a very creative and satisfying work life. OMG, kids LOVE music! Says Toni. She has been a performance consultant to corporations, community theater groups and public schools as well as the creator of The Miracle of Performance” and “Stagework” workshops. Lucky for us, Toni’s beautiful search continues. “Toni Land-I love her! I’ve been playing her and playing her and then I’ve been playing her some more.” -Mathew Richards, KTIL “Land’s music is inspiring, strong, consistently dynamic. For their new international campaign, the Swiss luxury watch brand IWC Schaffhausen casts Bradley Cooper in the first-ever interactive VR experience starring an A-list celebrity. The idea was a collaborative effort developed and implemented by Google and Scholz & Friends.
In the VR experience ‘The Road Less Traveled’, viewers not only accompany the multi-Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper on the road, but also get to determine the plot of the story with VR glasses using head and eye movements to create their own unique experience.
The 360° road trip starts in a loft in downtown L.A. before travelling deep into California’s Mojave desert to a secret place. Alongside Bradley Cooper, the Big Pilot’s watch from IWC Schaffhausen also has a leading role in the story, serving as a trusted companion along the way. Robert Krause, Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Berlin explains: “With this project, we ourselves felt like we were on ‘The Road Less Traveled’. For the Google team at Mountain View, it was also new and uncharted territory.” ‘The Road Less Traveled’ for Google Spotlight Stories is part of an integrated international campaign conceptualised by Scholz & Friends in cooperation with the IWC Creative Center. The Google Spotlight Stories app is available for free download for Android and iOS.

CHƯƠNG 11: CHUYỂN BẠI THÀNH THẮNG (P2)
Tumblr media

I think what people are really pissed off about concerning social media, is all the double standards, censorship, and absolutely no accountability. They give you a terms of service and say you violated it but did not mention or tell you how. They don't necessarily respond and they don't necessarily fix their mistakes. They just leave everybody hanging in the Wind!

"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech."   "If everyone is thinking alike, then no one is thinking." Both~ Benjamin Franklin   It took Trump to do this for We the People. Where in the hell would we be without him, hell is close to it.  Seems like he's the only one in the whole world who's man enough to stand up to TPTB. Thank you sir!

Corpse driven 1,300 miles in suitcase, authorities say
(CNN)Deputies didn't start investigating the man's death until somebody unzipped a blue suitcase and found his corpse, said Rick Hickman, sheriff of Prairie County, Arkansas.
Investigators said a woman and man drove the suitcase containing the body 1,300 miles from Johnstown, a small town in upstate New York, to central Arkansas -- but they don't know why.
The man has not been publicly identified, but authorities say he was in his 80s and comes from Johnstown. Arkansas Online reported that a preliminary autopsy shows he died of natural causes.
Hickman said his department's involvement started last Sunday.
"We got a call from someone in the Cross Roads community here in town complaining of a blue Toyota pickup truck filled with furniture and junk a couple was trying to (sell) in a parking lot," he said. "One of the patrons of this sale went to the back of the truck and unzipped a larger blue suitcase and saw a body."
Prairie County deputies started investigating and found two suspects about 15-20 miles away, but without the body, Hickman said.
The blue suitcase was found later in a field, Arkansas Online said.
Virginia Lee Colvin, 56, of Johnstown, and Michael Wayne Stivers were charged with abuse of a corpse, a felony, and are held in the Prairie County Jail, according to the sheriff's office and Arkansas State Police. Stivers faces other charges unrelated to the body. Arkansas Online said Stivers, whose age was not given, also comes from Johnstown.
Investigators believe the man died in Johnstown.
"We are currently working with the New York State Police forensics to confirm if this was the exact place of death, because evidence is showing the man was dead for some time," said Johnstown Police Detective James Rodecker of Johnstown New York Police.
Colvin may have been a caregiver for the elderly man, authorities said. No other suspects are being sought in Arkansas.
