Clare is mischaracterized a lot lowkey because I think people love Clare for being an anxious lesbian so much that they instinctively craft a more palatable version of that trait onto her and it’s a shame because Clare is a fascinating little beastie. She is childhood friends with the likes of Erin and Michelle for a reason after all. She is arguably just as selfish as Erin /affectionate and just as impulsive as Michelle /affectionate it just is formed around the insane molten hot anxiety disorder inside her little lesbian brain. She thinks she’s better than them when in reality she is just as bad.

I’d argue she stays selfish /affectionate longer than Erin does. Until the final two episodes I fully believe Clare would have sold any of them up the river for a corn chip if that corn chip would save her skin. It’s often said that Clare and James hold the single brain cell but I think the truth is likely that Orla holds it and they just forgot to use it or hand it to someone cause they were going ham on a bag of sweets.

If you hate Erin for her selfish traits and just kinda forget that Clare is just as bad then idk what to tell you they’re birds of a feather.

i’m realizing that one of my favorite ways to create a character is by first establishing a major flaw of theirs and then examining how that will inevitably fuck them up a bit. then fleshing them out from there

i havent read warriors since avos but you are making me want to read the new arcs SO bad just bc i want to know what's up with curlfeather. your most recent art of her is so fire

i cannot truly in good faith recommend the current arc because it is quite bad. all of my curlfeather art operates 99% on my personal interpretation of her since she barely shows up, and when she does appear the erins don’t understand her like i do. however i do think the broken code is worth reading it is very fun despite its flaws and is my second favorite arc personally.

Have you thought about how Squirrelflght's second and final trial would go? (Or her nine lives ceremony, assuming she doesn't die for Bramble's manpain before receiving them.) I like to think after Ashfur's circus, perhaps even her detractors would be at least a little more sympathetic to her.

I absolutely cannot imagine it going any other way than 100% well. I don't even think she'll need a Trial the second time around. After all the shit that happens in BB!TBC??

Recognizing the impostor, definitely being among the first people to know for sure

Even after all Bramblestar has ever done to her, decreeing that warriors NEVER leave another cat behind

Will definitely be one of the reasons why the Sisters come in to help send so many cats in. Right there is a practical reason for her enemies to acknowledge the value of Fire Alone (though she would be frustrated they even needed A REASON when it was always the right thing to do)

And, most importantly, Ashfur fucking ate Skystar. A 'circus' is putting it nicely, Ashfur just destroyed a big part of the afterlife (the Meadow of Young Stars) and one of Squilf's biggest detractors was murdered by another one.

She looks SO correct right now, you would look stupid for even trying to say "well let's put her on trial. again. after the last one went soo well."

if the "strange voice" IS her reabsorbed sibling and the Erin's try to do some abelist split personality bullshit i am going to scream <3 (<- tired, tired system) I have hope still. it would still be disappointing if it was dark forest plot yet again sure but at the very least it wouldn't be that I do find her character sheet very curious. Obviously it makes sense for her description to be scratched out. gotta maintain the mystique. And her siblings being scratched out makes sense. But her rank and mentor is also crossed out? which i find interesting.

and in the last paragraph it says the cats "imagined" she might become a medicine cat. which is in the past tense. and that she struggles with expectations. Hello Nightheart plot again. But also, maybe this means Moonpaw will leave Thunderclan at some point? Wishful thinking but it would be interesting to have a main character outside the clans. And not just like Sunbeam or Dovewing where they leave to a different clan, but as in they become a loner. Idk. Its probably just to maintain the mystery and excite readers to find out but its an interesting thought! also yeah split face tabbies aren't always chimeras but its not like there's dna tests in warrior cats. if they say shes a chimera than she is. we cant prove she isnt. and regardless cat genetics has never meant anything in warrior cats. hawkfrost has blue eyes and heatherstar is pink. i dont think the erins are spreading misinformation by saying shes a chimera since we cant see what her genetics are.

The fight is going well because I got the killing blow on both the high level enemies but their little minions have knocked two of my party members unconscious and one of them has failed two death saves and the other has failed one and I think this might actually be my character's worst nightmare.
