Kefir
Zelf gemakkelijk kefir maken Zelf kefir maken…

Water Kefir Grains
Tumblr media
Water Kefir Grains are a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast that turn sugar into lactic acid during fermentation. The grains are a combination of lactobacillus, brewers yeast, and acetic acid bacteria. Water kefir grains can be used to make a probiotic beverage called water kefir and on the other hand milk kefir grains called Milk Kefir. Water kefir is similar to milk kefir but uses water instead of milk. The result is a fizzier drink with less protein and more vitamin C than milk kefir. Water kefir tastes like soda since it contains carbon dioxide gas produced by the fermentation process. The process of making water kefir is simple: place the dried grains in a jar filled with water and cover loosely with cheesecloth or a lid. Let sit at room temperature for 24 hours then refrigerate any unused portion for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. The scoby hotel is a place where you can go to learn about the art of kombucha brewing. It teaches you how to grow your own scoby (the mushroom-like mother) and then brew your own kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented tea drink that has been around for thousands of years. It is made with green or black tea, sugar, and a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). The SCOBY is an essential part of the process and it looks like a mushroom. To know more visit our website Kombucha Kamp and buy these products easily at an affordable price.

are you drinking like dried powdered kombucha or did you brew it with a starter kit?
Neither its store bought however I do need to get into brewing kombucha I’ve just never fermented a liquid before.. but I need to be brave.. though it is disconcerting that so many recipes are like “yeah so your second ferment has a 50% chance of becoming a bomb,”

Learn About Water Kefir Grains Benefits
Tumblr media
Water kefir is a probiotic-rich fermented beverage that's been enjoyed in Eastern Europe and the Middle East for centuries. It's made with water kefir grains, which are basically symbiotic colonies of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). Water kefir grains can be used to ferment anything from coconut water to fruit juice, but they work best with a sweetened dairy-free version of the beverage.
When you have decided to make water kefir at home, It's important to note that water kefir grains are different from milk kefir grains—they look different and act differently. Milk kefir Grains requires a slightly different process than water kefir because it needs more sugar than plain water does.
How to Make Water kefir:
Making water kefir is simple, but there are a few tricks to maintaining a healthy culture. If you're new to water kefir recipe, start by checking out our guide to water kefir grains.
The following steps will show you how to make water kefir so that you can continue making kefir at home:
1. Pour 1 cup of sugar into your container with 4 cups of purified water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
2. Add 2 tablespoons of starter liquid (either juice or Kombucha). Then add the grains, cover and let sit overnight at room temperature (68 - 77 degrees F).
3. After 24 hours, taste test your kefir by stirring in a bit more sugar if needed (it should be slightly sweet). Now you can strain through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into another jar or bottle with an airtight lid (we recommend using mason jars), and refrigerate for up to 1 week!
Health Benefits:
There are numerous benefits to drinking water kefir, here are top of them
1. Helps with weight loss - Water kefir contain B vitamins, which are good for energy production and metabolism.
2. Improves digestion - The probiotic properties of water kefir can help improve digestion and reduce constipation or diarrhea when taken regularly over time.
3. Reduces inflammation in the body - Water kefir recipe contains antioxidants—including phenols, polyphenols, flavonoids—that may help reduce inflammation and prevent oxidative stress in your body (which can lead to heart disease).
4. Lowers blood sugar levels - Drinking water kefir instead of sugary drinks like soda or fruit juice may help lower blood sugar levels over time.
5. It helps improve skin health: Water kefir contains lactic acid, which can be used as an exfoliant or for skin care products like masks and cleansers.
