context. when you encounter your ex girlfriend, an awkward moment turns into something more, and you both begin to rethink your decision to end things.

cool wind fanned your face as your stride lead you through the streets of the Gloria Molina park. the faint jingle of your dog’s collar indicating which way you’d go next, as her small little being told you which direction to walk in. you weren’t focused on her, or your surroundings. instead, engrossed in the discussion you were having with your mom over text.
“fuck, i’m so sorry.” you hadn’t been looking at where you were going, and a sudden bark made you look up before you slammed into a girl with black hair. you wouldn’t have recognised her so quickly, had it not been for her dogs bark. a dog that had been all too familiar, and who’d obviously recognised you.
“shark.” it was quiet, but she’d heard it from above, observing how her dog circled your legs in excitement. your gaze lifted to her, and she gave you a weak smile, waiting for you to say something more.
“billie, wow. it’s been a while.” you said, interrupted by both dogs jumping when they’d spotted each other.
“yeah, shark’s obviously glad, he definitely missed you.” she chuckled somewhat awkwardly.
“how long has it been?” you pondered, trying to make conversation with the girl.
“since we broke up, 3 years i’d say?” a mumble followed her words as you considered how unbelievable it’d been that you hadn’t crossed paths in 3 years.
“so how are you?” when neither of you made a move to exit the awkward conversation in any way, you decided you might as well ask.
“uh, good, yeah i’ve been good. how about you?” her expression was sincere as she distracted herself with the handle of shark’s leash.
“same here.” the silence that followed was uncomfortable, as you held eye contact but didn’t speak. her features were unchanged, except slightly matured, but the familiarity was still present.
“look, this is weird ‘cause i’ve been caught off guard but we should talk more, i’ve missed you.” she was the one to break the ice, as both of you then slowly eased into each others presence.
“yeah, i’d love that.” she made a move for your phone, unlocking it due to the fact you hadn’t changed the password, and entering in her phone number.
“i also feel like we should really talk, we never got any kind of closure.” your relationship had ended in a haze of messy tears and headaches, you hadn’t talked it out mutually.
“like right now?” she laughed shaking her head, amused at your widened eyes.
“no, no. just call me. okay?” she smiled and you nodded, waving her a goodbye as she walked in the opposite direction. you watched her leave and she looked back, quickly meeting your eyes before you turned your head.
‘i got a call from a girl i used to know’
“hey, is this billie?” your voice filled her ear, confirming that your encounter had been a reality.
“yeah it’s me, i’m glad you called.” her tone was sweet, inviting. as if she’d gotten comfortable talking to you again.
“yeah?” that was still somewhat of a shock, you momentarily cursed yourself for letting her back into your life, unsure as to if this was a good idea.
“i was going to ask you if you’d want to come over for coffee or something?” your answer should be no.
“of course, i’d love that.” you found yourself speaking before having thought rationally about it.
“great! how’s friday?” she was audibly excited.
“perfect.”
‘we were inseparable years ago’
“hi, come in.” her voice eased the nerves that were upsetting your stomach, as you walked into her house. she’d moved out of her previous one, and you hadn’t been here before.
“i made you some tea, since you’ve never been a huge coffee person.” you smiled, grateful for the thought.
“thank you.” she lead you to the couch, and you both settled down, facing each other as you pulled your legs to your body.
“sorry for being so cold yesterday, i was just surprised to see you.” you sipped the tea, as you spoke.
“no worries, it was definitely a surprise for me too.” she chewed her lip as she looked at you.
“you’ve changed, you look older. in a good way.” she cracked a smile before responding.
“it’s the fact i haven’t got obnoxiously colored roots.” you laughed at her criticism of the famous hair colours.
“i loved the roots.” she raised an eyebrow.
“which colour?” she took her bottom lip underneath her tongue as she waited for a reply.
“all of them, especially green though.” that was the hair she’d had when you’d been with her, it would always be nostalgic.
“i remember bleaching my hair after we broke up, i thought it would help me get over you.” she chuckled.
“did it?” she shook her head.
“i’m sorry, billie, for the way things ended.” she frowned slightly, remembering the events of your breakup.
“i’m sorry too, you never really got an explanation.” she sighed, taking your hands in hers as she spoke honestly.
“so.. why did you break up with me?” she took a deep breath before speaking.
“i felt unloved. i know it sounds stupid. but i didn’t feel like i was your girlfriend.” you nodded, trying to understand her words as she continued.
“our love felt like a male fantasy.” she whispered.
“what do you mean?” the term had confused you in this context.
“as if you didn’t love me romantically, i felt like your friend and not your girlfriend.” her brows were furrowed, expressing her emotions.
“i’m so sorry, billie.” she stayed silent, not fully accepting the apology.
“do you still..” she trailed off, wondering if she even wanted an answer.
“i don’t know if i ever got over you, i guess i pretended i was. i really tried to hate you.” she found the comment amusing, smiling brightly.
“thank god.” she looked down, smiling to herself before returning to meet your eyes.
“hm?” you questioned.
“i still love you now.” she took your face in hers hands as you squeezed her knee.
“me too,” her smile was as bright as ever, “I’ll make sure I don’t screw up this time.” you were giggling against her lips.
‘knew we’d get along, and it was so.’

I just read your dragon arle x dragon hunter reader fic and I can't stop rereading it. Can I request either the dragon sibs & arlecchino's pov of the fic or a continuation of the fic (either of just reader's daily life now that they've been adopted by a dragon family or of arlecchino and (maybe) the dragon babies having human forms and surprising the reader with them (maybe both))?
Also could I be anon? (I'm not the one who requested dragon arle x dragon hunter reader but damn do I wish I was)

Dragon Hunter Mother Part 2
(Arlecchino x Fem! Reader)
A/N - Part 1 here I'M BACKKKKKKKKKK. Okay, wow, uh, hi, anons! Yes, you can be 🏹 anon, I added you to the list a while ago. To the anon that was asking for readers to fight off other dragon hunters, if you request again, give yourself a name/emoji like my other wonderful anons :). 🍎 anon, I'm not sure what you mean by real form, but I had the real form for Arlecchino as her human form. If it wasn't clear, I thought I was just going to combine all three of these into one part, hopefully that's okay with you guys. I wrote this as best as I could. I didn't think the dragon au! would be so liked but guess the world building I pulled from my ass paid off. Reader will be fem just like the first part. Hopefully you guys like this sequel! And hope the world building for this is okay. I don't know why, but I decided to put an excessive amount of stupid world building that probably doesn't make sense… Also made the babies smaller (and I changed this in the first part too) so cuddling them can be better <33 sorry this took so long... hopefully the length makes up for it. 🫶 this makes the longest request I've done so far, and somehow I wrote all of this today... Content warnings / info - creature x reader, arlecchino is a dragon. fem reader, graphic violence, you get called a bitch (sorry), 3.9k words
Being kidnapped adopted by a family of dragons was not on your bucket list, but here you are. At the beginning, you considered running– after all, you had no idea if you were just going to be emergency dragon food or something, though logically you knew that dragons didn't eat humans. You were a hunter, and you were on a job, but you couldn't find it within yourself to pick up the sword again. Not only would that be foolish because there was no fathomable way for you to beat the Father dragon, but the trio of younglings had grown on you in such a short amount of time. It's only been a few weeks, and you feel like you've quickly adjusted to this weird, but cozy family nonetheless.
The first night you met the dragons quickly became a fond memory to recall back to. What transpired during that night was this: after the babies had successfully calmed down their Father, their Father sat up, growling something to the hatchlings. The large dragon began striding in the direction of where it came from, and the babies left your side to follow. Confusion struck you and you approached the Father dragon.
“Hey, wait, where are you guys–” your own yelp interrupted you as the larger dragon's tail coiled around, picking you up like you were no more than a leaf. You squirmed in its grasp until you were dropped onto the Father’s head. Your eyes widened upon realizing what they were going to do, and you cling onto one of the spikes on the dragon’s head for dear life. The Father dragon flaps its wings a few times, striding backwards, and then begins running. The movements nearly threw you off of the dragon had you not white-knucle gripped onto it, and then you feel the rushing of wind all over you, threatening to blow you away. Your eyes burned from the oncoming torrent, and you shutted your eyes as the frigid night air whips around you, just praying to your archons that you remain alive after this.
You didn’t know how long you squeezed your eyes shut, but by the time the icy gusts stopped pricking at your skin–only just caressing your skin like a gentle embrace–it’s when you finally opened your eyes. A black canvas dotted with various bright specks greeted your vision, and you gaped silently. You’ve always thought that the night was beautiful, but up close, you were sure of it; it’s entrancing and no short of magnificent. The beating organ inside of your chest thumped rhythmically, and you thought that if you reached out your hand, you would be able to feel the stars on your fingertips.
You heard a croak beside you and you recalled that you were among dragons. You looked down. The dragon below you tilted their head towards you, glaring back at you over its wings, piercing crossed eyes scrutinizing you. Sheepishly smiling, you rub its head gently with your hand, and you could physically feel it shiver. You relaxed your hold, leaning forward and allowing your front to press against its scale to rest. Turning your head to the side, you watch miniature dragons fly, somehow keeping up with their father. You tentatively peeked down to see how high up you are, and your stomach churned uneasily. Distracting yourself from the terrifying height you’re at, how you can barely see the peaks of the coniferous trees, you try to think where they were taking you. Surely… you weren’t going to be stowed away in their den as emergency food… right? The babies would protect you… hopefully.
The rest of the ride was smooth; somehow you had not fallen off. They took you to a cave at the base of the mountain in the center of the forest. Inside the cavern, the ground was matted with wool. This must have come from the sheeps that the Father dragon reportedly stole from the nearby villages. You assumed that this is a nest. The red one (should you just give them names instead of referring to them by their colors? You'll call the red one “Ruby” for now), nudged the back of your leg towards the nest, before its siblings leapt into it. Like cats, “Aqua” (short for Aquamarine) circled around a certain area before laying down, its sibling, “Amber,” following it and curling beside it.
You gazed at “Father” to check for any signs of protest, but it too steps towards the nest before laying down. Its massive body took up the majority of the nest, and it used its tail to gently push “Aqua” and “Amber” closer to it. Seemed like there was no protest from Father. Hesitantly, you approached the nest, feeling like you just stepped onto sacred grounds you didn't belong to. Tentatively, you laid on your side and Ruby went to snuggle against its other siblings.
Soon, the babies’ snores filled the cavern. Sleep was hard to come by, especially since you were still in your armor and the matting wasn't very comfortable. The cold didn't help either. You ended up just gazing at the wilderness beyond the cave, observing the crescent moon. Eventually, your body became sore from the uncomfortable position, and you figured that slumber wouldn’t come to you soon anyways. Standing up, you made your way towards the exit, just to stretch your legs and take some fresh air.
Leaning against the entrance, your thoughts ran rampant with wonderings.
Should you run away? Did you even want to run away? What about your family? What about your job? Well… your family cared about your other siblings more anyways and it wasn't like you liked your job–you've always wanted a break from it. You doubt you could run away from them if you did; dragons had an impressive sense of smell and you wouldn't get very far in this terrain anyways. The babies specifically seemed especially fond of you, and their father tolerated you enough… maybe they had adopted you as their family? If so, then… What was wrong with having a serene life with dragons?
Well, assuming, again, that they didn't want to eat you. But you didn't want to go back. That life of glory was for someone else. You'd rather live quietly and cozily, even if you were dirt poor.
“Do you not intend on running away?”
Your blood froze from the sudden voice, coming from behind you. You whipped around to see a human–no, something that looked like a human–advancing, and you took a step back. You notice the missing large dragon from the nest, only the hatchlings remain, unaware of their missing father. This… creature looked human (a rather pale, tall, and handsome female human) with two spiky, blackhorns peaking above her predominantly white strands, a draconic black and red tail loosely curled around her legs, and black forearms and clawed hands. But the moment you locked eyes with red x-eyes, you knew who she was. Or more like, what she was.
She was, perhaps, the most breathtaking being you've ever seen, the moonlight making her seem elysian. The embodiment of perfection, for both human and beast, with her voice belonging to those of angels.
But she was still a dragon, and that thought threw you back to reality.
“You're human… but a dragon,” you stated matter-of-factly, your flusteredness apparent in your voice.
Her face remained as stoney as her dragon form. “You're correct, Miss Dragon Hunter.”
This was new. Even if you had extensively researched dragons, you never knew of this. “How?”
“Is that something I should be telling a dragon hunter?”
You bit your lip. “Is this how ancient dragons were able to stay hidden from us?” You wondered out loud.
“Precisely.”
“If your human form is female-presenting… Does that mean you're a female dragon? But why? Female dragons take… well, a maternal role, but you serve the paternal role. I thought… that you were a male dragon.”
“I am indeed a female dragon. However… I never sought out a mate, and so I could not produce my own children. The children,” she gestured at the sleeping hatchlings. “were runts when I found them. Like myself, they had no paternal figure, and the maternal figure naturally abandoned them after birth, so I stepped in.”
You nodded. “Why… did you not kill me?”
“You fed them. And, with that, I believe they saw you as the maternal figure they lacked. They would be saddened if I killed you. But… considering that you’re a dragon hunter… it's quite a shame,” she remarked threateningly as she extended out her claws, nearing you. Your heart thundered in your ears, fear pumping through every vein. She was going to kill you?
“Wait, wait. I'll give up. I won't go back. I swear,” you state, stepping back.
“And why should I believe you?”
Quickly, you removed the chainmail armor off of you, and with great effort, ripped out the patch stitched onto your shoulder pad. You chucked the armor into a forsaken direction, before you offered the patch to her. “This… this is a symbol of my occupation as a dragon hunter. Without it, I'm nobody. It’s my proof that I'm a dragon hunter. If I don't have it, I can't get any kill orders or receive any weapons or additional aid.”
The dragon raised her brow. A clawed hand took the patch from your hand, before a fire erupted from her palm, effortlessly burning it into ashes. “But how do I know you won't attempt to hurt my family?” She growled.
“I wouldn't. I've… never wanted to be a dragon hunter. I was born into a prestigious dragon hunter family, and I was expected to hunt myself. But… I never wanted to kill dragons.” You tilted your head down, breaking eye contact from her in favor of looking at your feet.
The dragon stalked towards you until she was only a few inches away. Even in human form, she still towered over you. She pulled you with her tail, which winded around your midsection tightly until she was flushed against you. She gripped your chin in between her clawed fingers.
“I'll be watching you myself. For now, my children enjoy your presence. But if a single one of them cries so much because of you, know that you will be killed, mercilessly and painfully. Do you understand that, human?”
“Yes…” You paused when you realized you didn't have her name. You looked at her expectedly.
“It's Arlecchino.”
“Yes, Arlecchino. I understand.” Her name sounded right on your tongue.
“Good. Come now, the children are rather quick on noticing my absence from the nest.” Arlecchino expressed, turning back.
“I think I'll stay out here for a while. It's hard for me to fall asleep… it's a bit cold for humans,” you sheepishly admitted. “I'll come back when I'm more tired, I promise.”
Arlecchino turned around to observe you, noticing your shivering form and the goosebumps on your skin. “I believe I have a solution. Come,” she said, offering her hand towards you.
You took her hand, and she laid you to the nest again. She laid down on her side first, before urging you to follow her. The nest was comically large compared to the two of you and the baby dragons now that she was in her human form. As you set yourself down, back facing her, clawed hands found their way around your waist before hauling you towards her, her chest pressed against your spine. You hear the flap of a wing, and then the wing is casted over the two of you, acting as a makeshift blanket. You gasped as her hot breath tickled your earlobe, the tips of your ears burning. “Warm enough for you now, human?”
You still had trouble sleeping that night, but for a different reason.
—
You learned of the hatchlings' names the day after. Translated to human language from the draconic tongue, “Ruby” was actually Lyney, and his siblings Lynette and Freminet, “Aqua” and “Amber” respectively. Their personalities shone through pretty quickly the longer you stayed with them.
Lyney, undoubtedly, was the most energetic and clingy, in an endearing way. Always the first one up and stirring up trouble, alongside his younger brother, Freminet–even though Freminet was the shy, considerate one. Lynette was quiet but always present, comparable to a cat when Lyney acted the most like a puppy, and Freminet, a deer. Lyney had once nearly burned down the nest out of sheer eagerness when you surprised them by arriving at the cave with fish when they had just woken up. It didn't take you long to realize that cod was Lyney's favorite, even when you didn't understand dragon language.
Arlecchino warmed up to you eventually. The first night helped a lot, and so did the children. Standoffish at first, once she realized you had the best intentions in mind for her children she was begrudgingly softer with you. The ‘nestling’ (as the children resorted to calling it after Freminet saw it, having woken up in the middle of the night when Lyney's tail accidentally whacked him) became a nightly occurrence, and you couldn't say that you were complaining. It became evident to yourself that you were attracted to Arlecchino. She was wordlessly sweet, and attentive to you, but especially the children. A powerful, ancient dragon practically bowing down to dragons five times smaller than her was amusing to witness.
You were able to dissuade Arlecchino's attempts from visiting the nearby villages now that you were able to get the food for the hatchlings. Arlecchino had stopped visiting villages once she was able to obtain a human form, which allowed her to more efficiently metabolize food unlike beforehand. However, upon taking care of the Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet, she needed much more than what the forest could provide, hence the frequent visits.
Arlecchino did eventually tell you how her human form came to be. Dragons are, first and foremost, creatures created with magic, and so also hold magic. There are two different maturities that dragons reach in their lifetime. The physical maturity, which is when their wings are fully developed and they reach the age when they no longer have to be sheltered. Then, there is the magical maturity, when they learn to properly utilize the magic they're born with once enough magic has been culminated internally over the years. Dragons reach magical maturity after their second molt, and shapeshifting is the most common application; though most dragons like Arlecchino use human forms in order to assimilate into human society. It explains why ancient dragons are rarely ever seen. Draconic magic is unlike anything you've ever seen, incomparable to how humans use it–you couldn't even wrap your head around it. Either way, once Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet reach of age, they too will have human forms. You wondered what they would look like.
Your life is simple, albeit a bit boring, but nonetheless, you couldn't love it more. You have children that keep you on your toes, and you have… well, Arlecchino, your personal heater at night. It's the cozy life you've always wanted, though you'd like for the nest to be more comfortable, and considerably warmer.
It's why you’re currently at a nearby town, buying more wool with the money that you had when you were still a dragon hunter. You had traveled with Arlecchino to your hometown to retrieve the money you secretly stashed away, which could have bought a large house in the center of the town. At least, being a dragon hunter wasn't entirely useless.
You buy your wool and head towards the edge of the forest that bordered the town. The children were waiting for you there, wanting to see what new treats you were getting them. Last time was grilled steak. This time it's dried fruits. It'd be the first time that they tried dried fruits, you hope that they'll like them. As you treach back to where you told them to stay, you notice footprints in the dirt– footprints that weren't yours, and there were multiple of them. All of them seemed to belong to men. Terror struck you in an instant. Why were there people here? People rarely come here. No, it should be fine, it’s just foragers, right?
Anxiety grips at you as you continue, but it's quickly dispelled once you find the dragons, all safe and sound. You exhale and giggle as Lyney leaps into your arms, while Lynette brushes against your leg and Freminet perches on top of your head.
“Freminet, you're heavy–” you stop when something snaps behind you. Immediately, you set down Lyney and Freminet before turning around, and your worst fears come to fruition as your sight lands on a group of men coming from the bushes, familiar swords and armor gleaming in the sunlight. Your stomach drops upon the realization. Dragon hunters. And there's about ten of them. Ten of them versus one of you.
You step in front of the dragons immediately, your hand trailing to the small knife in your pocket.
“Hey, the old man was right. Following that bitch would lead us to the dragons,” one of them said. “How much is for each head?”
“Well, babies are rare. So a few million Mora per head. Can be ten times more if we get them alive.”
“Get your Father,” you whisper to them, as you push the dragons. They croak worriedly at you, their teeth tugging on your boot for you to come with them.
“Go!” You yelled a little more assertively. Lynette and Freminet fly off to the direction of the cave, while Lyney remains. You were about to shoo off Lyney too, but then you hear the sound of a bow being drawn.
It's like you suddenly become possessed, your body moving on automatically as you charge at the archer, short knife in hand. You knock his hand away, making their arrow shoot astray instead of at one of the dragons still flying, before you slit his throat. You narrowly dodge one of the swordsmen's strike, his long-blade an inch away from your chest. Another one from behind you swings, and this time it cuts your side, only shallowly so. You're thankful that your dragon hunter instincts and reflexives are still imprinted on your body, as that's the only thing keeping you alive and allowing you to dodge them. Though they all seem like amateur dragon hunters, compared to you who was the best out of your year, there were still many more of them than you
Another archer draws his bow, but you're still preoccupied with dodging. This foraging knife can barely do shit, and you're hardly able to fend off against the ones surrounding you. The group of dragon hunters split off, half of them chasing towards where Lynette and Freminet went while the other half is currently fighting you.
No, no, you can't reach him in time, what if he hits Lyney or Freminet–
Fire abruptly emerges, scalding the archer's face making him cry out. The fallen archer's scream successfully distracts the men around you, and you weasel your way out, grabbing Lyney who’s in the process of breathing out fire again and running. You drop your backpack to allow you to run better, but not before making sure you chuck it at one of the hunters.
“Good job, Lyney,” you praise the hatchling in your arms, stroking his head.
You had to make sure the group in front didn't find the cave. Lynette and Freminet aren't fast flyers, their wings aren't nearly developed yet. You fear that more archers are with the group in front. Thanks to the lack of weight on you, you're able to evade the ones behind quickly, and catch up to the half of the hunters that had run off earlier.
The sound of their own footsteps mask yours, and you’re able to stab the swordsman that's lacking behind in the neck, before stealing his sword. His scream attracts the attention from the other hunters and they spin around to face you. Good, they won't be focused on the other dragons now.
“Lyney, go, please. Your siblings need their big brother,” you whispered, giving the hatchling one more stroke on the head before throwing him up in the air. Lyney, this time, obeys you, flying away but not before giving you one more glance back. It’s just you and five hunters in front of you, another three coming soon. The archers are the most pressing concern, as you rush at them. However, two swordsmen block you from them.
“No!” You scream as the archers take aim, their arrows aimed at Lyney. You throw your knife, past the blade-wielding hunters and into the back of the head of one of the archers. However, that action cost you your arm getting cut, a long slash down the side of your forearm. You hiss, backing away, but the three of them quickly surround you. There’s still a single archer left.
“Fuck, what are you even protecting those stupid reptiles anyways? Just tell us where they live and we'll let you live!”
You only grit your teeth and ready your sword. The only way you can get to the last archer is if you brute force your way, but you can't. You hear footsteps approaching from behind, and the remaining three are already here.
“We need her alive for now, so she can tell us where it is,” you hear one of them say.
The idea starts settling inside of you–that you're going to die, if it continues like this. You’re not going to tell them where the cave is obviously, even with whatever sick torture they have in plan for you. But were you willing to die now? After you've just achieved the life you had always wanted? You just wanted to live a peaceful life… was this your karma for being a dragon hunter? You swallow thickly, trying to imagine not seeing the hatchlings again or even Arlecchino. In the short time you’ve spent with them, you really have seen them as your own, your family. Ironic that you end up dying for dragons when you yourself were a dragon hunter, huh?
Continuing fighting would be pointless. You’re dead either way, why struggle more? Still… the children are safe. It'd be okay. It'd be okay. They've survived before you, and they'll continue to survive after. Dying would be okay.
You close your eyes, trying to blink the tears away. It'll be okay, it'll be–
A roar booms through the forest, and then a loud boom, the ground shaking violently underneath you, causing you to tumble onto the floor harshly. In front of you, on top of the crushed bodies of the former dragon hunters, the dragon form of Arlecchino appears. You quickly run to her side, grasping onto one of her legs. Soon, dark red flames escape out of her throat, enveloping the last of the hunters and then, all ten hunters are dead, just like that.
Once the last hunter falls, Arlecchino immediately turns into her human form, holding you in her arms. You collapse into her arms, the exhaustion from the running and fighting weighing down on you as the adrenaline quickly disappears.
“The… children?” you're able to pant out as you look up at her.
“They're safe.” Her eyes hold gratitude towards you. “I thought I lost you.”
“I'm okay, Arlecchino, I promise. Just a few cuts,” you reassure her with a smile, nuzzling into her neck. She sighs and kisses the top of your head.
“I’m not letting you go anywhere without me anymore.”
“Fine…”

HOW HATERS ARE BORN (HHAB)
♡ chapter twenty-six — br(ok)en (💋)
Tumblr media
You stared at your phone light up for the twelfth time within five minutes with a dull expression.
Admittedly, you felt angrier knowing that Scaramouche still had the audacity to even text you after everything. After tormenting you for years and years, what kind of shame should someone feel after that, you wonder. The relentless pursuit of making your life miserable—to which he failed at, but it did make you wonder.
Did you do something to deserve it? Each notification felt like another jab that he took to the heart, reopening your wounds from each time he said something messed up to you. As you laid there motionless, with no light ruminating in the room except your phone, you began to feel tears well up in your eyes for the thirteenth time today.
Pursing your lips, you swiped up to read the messages and only felt reminded even further of every harsh word he said. Every cruel taunt, every moment of humiliation...and yet...
He was still right, despite being the biggest hypocrite known to man. And it pissed you off.
Why were you even laying here? Ignoring the world, rotting here like you're a vegetable. You knew that you were something to people, you knew that you were valued.
There wasn’t anything that was particularly motivating for you to get up, however. You ignored every need that you could have possibly wanted, subjecting yourself to sparseness. No matter how much you wanted to, the thoughts always came back and you didn’t know how to deal with them.
A small knock echoed from the front door. It was loud enough to hear, and you still shoved your head in the pillow and hoped it went away.
The longer time you went without answering it, the knocks became more frequent. It wasn’t Thoma, that’s who you could observe without getting up.
You finally managed to drag yourself out of bed, lazing about sounded so much nicer now that you were dreading who’s at the door. With a frustrated sigh, and irritation already to its peak of your heart, you opened the door to a familiar-ish face.
Little girl?
“Did you forget that you exist?” She said with a smile. “Welcome back to Earth! I didn’t know how long you’d be cooped up in here so I brought treats.”
You stared a bit longer than you meant to at the Tupperware of Asafiri in her hands, momentarily taken aback. “Heh?”
“Yanfei sent me here. Looks like you’re having a little bit of trouble getting back on your feet. I take it you know her?” She inquired.
“Yeah.” You blinked slowly, before holding the door a little wider. “Uh…come in, I guess. Thanks for the…treats.” You cringed. “Wow, I get why Heizou keeps being called a creep now, this can look so wrong.”
“The difference is that he does it to himself.”

The warm water on your body was oddly refreshing.
Getting out of the shower was harder knowing that you'd come back to the gust of wind in your living room, but knowing you had fresher pajamas on was also a plus. Things didn't look too great on your mental, especially since you were accustomed to showering a lot in your fresher mind.
You put on the Lightning McQueen slippers you quite often wear, and moved to the kitchen after hearing soft chops of a knife. You wondered what Nahida was up to, staring at her cut apples and bananas before putting them into a huge bowl she found in your cupboard.
"This is a very odd fruit salad you're making." You drew attention to yourself before her eyebrows furrowed. "I don't know whether or not to tell you to be careful with knives."
"I'm smarter than you think I am." Nahida cooed. "I'm used to people being condescending."
"Oh...I'm sorry— You're killing me here, kid. Lady? Are you a child or not?" You asked desperately.
Nahida turned to you, her saturated green eyes stared at you with obviously deliberate thoughts roaming her head before she took a sharp breath. She pointed the knife at you. "Do you feel better?"
"Not...really? I mean, it happened. All of this at once." You tried to process it quicker, but your head failed you. It's like how you actually felt in the moment was blocked. "I feel like I'm in limbo, I don't want to see the sun these days."
"Your thoughts are your biggest enemy right now. Easy to overthink. It's a lot to deal with on your own, good thing you aren't, right?" Nahida lowered the knife, her expression softening. "I cut you up some fresh fruit. It's better than the Asafiri for now, you don't need that much sugar after not eating for a while, or you'll crash hard. And get a headache."
Looking at the bowl loaded with bananas and slices of apples, you couldn't help but wonder why you were even granted this much care anyway. You were in mild disbelief, sitting down at the island counter in front of Nahida. "Why are you actually here?" You said in defeat.
Nahida stopped cutting the fruit, gaze shifting from it to you. She couldn't find what she could say to answer you, but she did press her lips together. "Do you want me to be honest?"
"A little." Your voice lowered.
"Yanfei and Heizou," Nahida paused, trying to find her words, "They wanted to see if I could convince you to start streaming again."
You frowned immediately. "Oh. Thanks for being honest."
"You made progress today, but I don't expect you to be up to it. It's a really big step." She asked you, but you couldn't even decipher the intentions behind her eyes. It was impossible to detect what anybody was thinking nowadays. "They just told me to come over so they can hope their investigation moves."
You sighed, leaning back in your chair once you felt the bitterness course your body again. Hearing that made your mood possibly worse than what it would've been if you were in bed. "Not happening. Thanks for checking on me though, you can leave if you want."
"I knew you'd say that. I guess it's fair, people are...going crazy right now figuring out whether you're okay or not." Nahida smiled once you looked back up at her. "Both Scaramouche and your fans are trying to get anything they can on your wellbeing. It's better to wait it out."
Your hopeful face turned into a sullen one, shoulders slumped at the mention of his name. "I don't know if I can even go back at all."
"I'm not sure how hard this is for you, but with what happened, you've obviously been through enough. While it's your choice to go back, Yanfei is under the impression that you can get revenge." The shorter girl explained. "In my eyes, though...I think you're able to decide that for yourself."
You felt the weight of the memories heavily, your head daunting enough for you to let out a shaky breath. "You think so?"
Nahida nodded, humming, "You don't have to stream, but don't give him the satisfaction if you're upset. You shouldn't let him know that you're suffering because of what he did. The worst thing that you can do is prove him right."
Funnily enough, as soon as she said that, you felt tears well up in your eyes again. It struck a cord, and you knew she was right. It was just knowing that anybody would say it verbatim. "That's the same thing he told me too." You blinked back your tears, more resilient than you were a few minutes ago, but also to the brim of misery.
"He?"
You shook your head, taking a deep breath to steady yourself. "Thanks," You muttered, choking on your words. You couldn't manage to say anything else, otherwise you'd betray your steely posture. "I'll think about it. Just...stay here a little more with me, please. Maybe I'll...find the resolve or something."

"Your hands are freezing." from the prompt list :]
Ma hasn't been sleeping too well lately, since Kal went missing. Now that he's back home, safe and sound in Metropolis, Kon has finally managed to succeed in turning Ma's own gentle-but-firm bullying techniques on her so that she'll actually get some rest, and you bet he's gonna be riding that high for a while.
It's a pretty warm spring day, so Kon decided he'll take the outside chores while Pa handles the inside ones. And he's breezing through 'em pretty fast! He's milked the cows, fed the chickens, collected the eggs, and weeded the kitchen garden, and...
And the entire time, Kal's been in the sky, way up out of sight, staring at him.
At this point, it's getting kinda ridiculous. Kon dumps the last of the kitchen scraps into the compost, washes his hands off at the hose, and leaps into the sky.
The sun buoys him up, full of energy and warmth as the air grows cooler around him. The farmhouse grows tiny under his feet, all the lush fields and farmland sprawling out towards the horizon. His TTK keeps the wind from mussing his hair as he zooms higher (up, up and away, right?), until he zips through a wisp of cloud and slows.
Kal, caught red-handed, gives him an awkward smile, clearly trying not to look too guilty. "Ah," he says. "So you noticed me."
"Uh, yeah, dude." Kon squints at him. His cape flaps behind him in the breeze; he's fiddling with the edge of it with one hand, almost like he's nervous. Since when does Kal get nervous? "You've been watching me for, like, an hour. It's getting freaky, man. What's going on?"
Kal rubs the back of his neck, sheepish. Isn't that wild? Superman, sheepish? What's gotten into him?
"Sorry," he says. "I, just, hm... How do I put this..."
He drifts closer, his eyes never leaving Kon's face. Kon tilts his head to one side, studying him. He looks... tired. Not, like, physically tired—that would be alarming, 'cuz they're in direct sun—but like, tired. Kon heard vaguely about the stuff that happened with Kandor, with Preus, but looking at Kal sets off some alarm bells. He knows what happened, but what happened?
Kal reaches out, and his palm brushes Kon's cheek.
Kon scrunches up his face in mild protest. "Dude, your hands are freezing! How long—"
Kal jerks away as if burned. Horror flashes through his eyes before he wrests it back behind the curtain. "I'm sorry!"
Kon blinks. "Uh... you didn't hurt me or anything." What is going on with Kal? "Your hands're just cold. You've been up here since way before I noticed you, haven't you?"
On impulse, he reaches out and grabs Kal's hands. They're cold, but he knows to expect that now; it only takes him a second to focus the energy behind his eyes, to warm them back up. Kal's the one who taught him that trick, just a few months ago, when his heat vision started to come in.
"I've... been here for a while, yes." Kal's voice is oddly soft, almost... fragile. He's staring at their joined hands like they contain all the secrets of the universe, and, uh, wow, Kon is definitely missing something here. "I'm sorry for freaking you out."
Kon's pretty sure Kal's the one who's actually freaked out, but if he says that, he knows Kal will deny it and shoot off back towards Metropolis. "No big," he says instead, and grins wryly. "You may as well come down 'n' come in, though. Pa's making cobbler."
Something eases in Kal's expression, and Kon knows he said something right. Warmth settles into his chest.
"Pa's making cobbler?" Kal raises an eyebrow, glancing down towards the itty-bitty farmhouse far below. "Ma let him?"
"He promised he wouldn't make a mess with the flour this time." Kon grins. "But maybe you better check on him, just to be sure."
A little of the ever-present weight on Kal's shoulders seems to fall away as he smiles. "You do make a compelling argument, Kon-El. Maybe I should."
"I make great points all the time, Kal-El." Kon squeezes his hands, bursting with pride. Kal's approval always makes him feel like he's basking in sunlight all over again. "C'mon, then. Krypto'll be excited to see you, too. And you can bring back treats for Lois!"
"Yes, yes, you've already persuaded me," Kal laughs. He lets go of Kon's hands to ruffle his hair, and Kon squawks in protest, ducking his head. "Let's go."
"Last one home's a rotten egg!" Kon crows, and zooms downward.
He can still hear Kal laughing behind him.

You and Scaramouche head over to ask the Traveler for some groceries [< prev] [Blog tag] [next >]
Notes: SAGAU without cult shenanigans, mostly filler chapter. sorry for the long hiatus!
WC. 1.5k
----- ⚘ -----
As much as you enjoyed spending your time running around Teyvat in-game, nothing quite prepares you for how vast it actually is.
Of course you’ve known that, logically speaking, it’s impossible to correctly scale an entire city using a limitation such as video game engines. You are still knocked completely off your feet at the sight of the sprawling verdant domes and alabaster walkways of Sumeru City.
You jog down from the Sanctuary doors and lean over the railing, eyes tracing the knotted branches of the Great Tree where they mesh flawlessly with the infrastructure of the city. The scale of things is easily dozens of times bigger than what is shown in-game, and despite the beautiful graphics it has, the game definitely cannot do justice to the sheer variety of buildings and people that make up Sumeru City. Unable to help yourself, you make wordless noises of awe as you take in the scenery.
“You’d think you’ve never seen a city before,” Scaramouche’s deadpan voice states from a few paces behind you, where he’s lazily following you down the ramp. You turn and face him, taking note of how he’d removed the colourful belts, ropes, and other identifying markers of his outfit, leaving only his bodysuit and black jinbei. He looks deeply annoyed by this state of undress, so you wisely choose not to mention it.
“I mean, I’ve never seen it like this before,” you agree, gesturing to the skyline with a wide sweep of your arm. “Like, I’ve seen some of it from a certain, uh, distance? But seeing it in person… Wow. Just doesn't compare.”
Scaramouche says nothing as he finally comes to a stop beside you, arms crossed as he surveys the view. After a few seconds he snorts derisively. “Looks the same as it always does, to me.” He scoffs. “Come on, we don’t have all day.”
You let him drag you down the rest of the ramps until you both meet the pale bricks of the main road. You follow him as he leads you, presumably, to wherever the Traveler is staying. Your eyes wander aimlessly, taking in the sights.
Something tugs at the gem of your shirt and you stop walking, surprised. When you look down, you see a small child with dirt stains on their hands and knees, and a streak of dirt across their face. The child beams up at you, holding out their closed fist and shaking it at you.
“Oh, hello. What’s up?” You ask, crouching down beside them. You hear a noise of disgust from Scaramouche, which you wave off in favor of giving the child a smile. “Anything I can help you with, buddy?”
The child shakes their fist again and you finally get the message. You present your own open hand, palm upturned, and the child drops whatever they’re holding into it. They scamper off quickly before you can say anything, so instead you peer at the tiny object in your hand.
It’s a small stone, with a very simplified carving on it. It appears to be some writing, and an angular leaf shape. The marks are gibberish to you, but surely it has significance of some kind, so you pocket it and stand back up. You give Scaramouche an apologetic grin, to which he simply rolls his eyes and continues on.
The walk is, understandably, much longer physically than it is in-game, and you find yourself a little winded by the time you’re anywhere near the Grand Bazaar. You do eventually get to a building that you (very, very vaguely) recognize as the inn the Traveler and Paimon stayed at during the Sabzeruz Festival arc, and you huff a sigh of relief that the long stroll is finally over. Before you can even approach or knock, you’re bowled over by a flying white mess of limbs.
“Creator! You’re here!” Paimon squeals in your ear as she tackles you to the best of her ability, and you wince as she excitedly hugs whatever part of you she can reach. “I’m so glad that stupid mean puppet didn't kill you yet!”
Scaramouche makes an offended noise at that last remark and flips Paimon the bird.
“Yeah, here I am!” You laugh after untangling her from around your head and pat her head as the Traveler joins her, looking a little worse for wear. Their outfit is a little stained in places, and bears some signs of scorch marks at the edges.
“Good timing, we just got back from our morning commissions,” they say with a wave. “I didn’t think you’d be out and about so soon, is there anything you need help with?”
“We want your ingredients supplies.” Scaramouche blurts out, interrupting any of your attempts to phrase it in a nicer way.
“All of them?!” Paimon gasps, absolutely devastated. You quickly step in before Scara can say anything else.
“No no! Just a little bit,” you reassure the sprite, then address the rest of your request to the Traveler with an affable shrug. “If you have anything to spare we’d really appreciate it. We don’t exactly have a lot of food in my teapot yet. Or, uhh… Any food, at all.”
“Oh!” The traveler smacks their forehead with the heel of their palm. “I didn’t think of that, Your Grace, I’m so sorry!”
“You really don’t have to call me that,” You laugh awkwardly at the title and volume at which the Traveler said it, conscious of the curious glances your little group has attracted. All around you you begin to hear indistinct murmuring, and you frantically hope they’re not talking about you. “And, uh, don’t worry about it! It’s a bit short notice, I get it.”
“As long as you leave some for us, it’s no problem!” Paimon says as she recovers from her shock. The Traveler turns to her with a sly grin.
“As long as they leave some for you, you mean?” They tease, to which Paimon splutters in protest. The Traveler gently pokes her cheek while she throws her tantrum.
“Can we take this inside?” Scaramouche asks waspishly, stopping the pair’s bickering for a moment. “Or literally anywhere else? Maybe you two enjoy being ogled like zoo animals, but I personally don’t appreciate being eyed up by the unwashed masses.”
“How rude! You haven’t learned a single thing, have you?!” Paimon scolds, turning her wrath on the harbinger.
“Actually, I agree,” you give a halting laugh as you step closer to the building. More and more eyes are turning toward you. You give the crowd an awkward wave, and suddenly the murmurs turn into a clamor as people begin to understand your identity.
“Oh, whoops,” the Traveler says, grabbing both your hand and Scaramouche’s bicep. Paimon quickly gets the idea and grabs onto the sleeve of their outfit. “Time to go!”
-----
You spiral back into existence high above the streets of Sumeru, close to the Akademia front doors, having been forcefully teleported as a group with the Traveler. They set you down gently, while simultaneously dropping Scaramouche like a sack of potatoes.
“Ow! Hey, watch it!”
“Are you alright, Your Grace?”
Three pairs of eyes watch as you dust yourself off and give a cheerful thumbs up. “All good!” You announce. “Let’s talk groceries, shall we?”
In the end, the Traveler decides to give you and Scaramouche three bags of dry products—things like fruits and veggies, rice, sugar, coffee beans, and cured meat—and promises to stop by your teapot sometime later in the week to deliver cold foods and more fresh produce.
“I’m sure some of this probably isn’t what you’re used to in your world,” the Traveler says apologetically, giving you a wry smile. “If you have any questions about it, I’m sure you can ask Wanderer. He’s been enrolled in some cooking classes for the past few semesters, so he’ll know what he’s doing.”
“Hah! As if.” Scaramouche snatches the last bag of groceries out of their hands with a sneer. “That weakling is going to be out running errands for Buer’s every whim. Do you really expect him to be around long enough to cook adequately? I’ll handle this.”
The Traveler only raises a single eyebrow at the declaration, then shrugs. “Suit yourself,” they chuckle. “Just don’t poison the Creator, I guess.”
“Can the Creator even get sick?” Paimon asks, hovering around you and inspecting you closely enough to make you ticklish. “I’m not sure gods are supposed to be able to get sick, you know!”
“Well, we don’t want to find out!”
“It’s fine, a little food poisoning won’t kill me,” you reassure the three of them, knowing you’ll be having a rough go at it for the foreseeable future given what you know about Scaramouche’s current cooking skills.
“So, what? None of you have any faith in me?” Scaramouche frowns and crosses his arms as best as he can around his grocery bags.
The response comes from the three of you at the same time.
“No.”

Continuation of my pollfic! I'm almost done. Just a couple more...
.
Wait a second. Danny was only half ghost. This cuff and chain, as disturbing as they were, were ghostly in nature, and in the Ghost Zone. He could just phase out.
He flicked human - his wings really didn’t like that - and phased out of the cuff. It and the chain writhed around on the floor like a demented snake. Danny sort of felt sorry for it. Sort of. Almost. Not really. Not nearly enough to refrain from making a shield and keeping it between him and the chain. And, for that matter, the other chains binding the books. Just in case.
Although, maybe he could do some of the translating and copying he’d first come here for…
No. He was pretty sure he’d done enough for the Lost Library for a long, long time. He didn’t like being kidnapped, actually, and he didn’t want to take the risk. Because, wow, he did not want to wind up chained to a desk, even if he could just phase out of any chain the library conjured.
He was just… He was done. That’s all.
There was a table. One not covered in chained books. If he didn’t want to hunker down on the floor or sit backwards on a chair or something. He was just going to rest a minute or two. He wasn’t going to fall asleep or anything. Just. Rest.
He crawled onto the table and laid down, resenting the fact he fit, given how small it was. His feet hung off the edge of the table, and he rested his chin on his folded hands. Yeah. He just needed some rest. Not sleep! Nope. He wasn’t going to fall asleep. He wasn’t.
He sighed and rolled off the table. If he stayed here, lying down, he’d definitely fall asleep. He knew himself. He had to do something. This wasn’t made to be a maze - on purpose, anyway. He could figure it out.
He stretched, back and forth, his arms and his wings, then his legs. It didn’t feel as effective as usual. Maybe side differences mattered there, too. He didn’t know much about things like that. Or maybe it was a bone thing? He knew that children had more bones than adults - thank you bone-obsessed ghosts - so he might have more bones right now than he usually did. Maybe.
Okay, now, he was pretty sure that the library attendant had led him through this way… Or was it this way… Or, uh… Hm.
Yeah.
Okay.
One at random it was.
“What in the world happened to you?”
… Or the attendant could just show up. Cool.
Danny stared up at them, the words to describe his situation completely escaping him. “It’s a long story, honestly. A really long story.”
“I only left you here for a…” She trailed off. “How long did I leave you in here? Just a few hours, right?”
“I… honestly have no idea.” He didn’t. Time was already weird in the Ghost Zone, even when you weren’t being chased by weird perfectly silent ghosts and taking surprise naps. Hanging out with Clockwork was sometimes helpful keeping things straight… and sometimes the exact opposite of helpful. He was half certain that libraries ran on their own time, anyway. Especially in the Ghost Zone.
“Yes, well,” said the attendant. “That’s… you… Your visitor’s badge must have malfunctioned. Or something.”
“I was kidnapped,” said Danny. “By the, uh, the quiet ones. The lost ones. Whatever.”
“But they aren’t real,” said the attendant, sounding bewildered. “How would they even…” She waved at Danny.
“I don’t know.”
“And they brought you back here?”
Danny shrugged. “I’d really like to leave, now. And get rid of all this…” He waved at himself. “You know. Go back to my normal self.”
“Yes, right. Of course. Sorry for the… Well. If it’s any consolation, you are very cute.”
It wasn’t. He shrugged. “Can I get back to the front, now? Please?”
“Yes,” said the attendant. “Oh, goodness, I’ve never heard of anything like this happening before…”
“Isn’t there, like, a whole legend about the quiet ones, or the lost ones, or whatever they’re called? The person at the front desk said something about it.”
“Yes, but they’re not real,” said the attendant, still scandalized by the whole idea.
“They are, though. They’re definitely real.”
“I am just going to take you to the front desk, okay?” asked the attendant. She turned and started to float away without waiting for an answer.
Danny took off after her, not wanting to get lost again. Or kidnapped again. There could be dozens of ‘legends’ in a place like this. It was possible the quiet ones were only the tip of the giant, literary, legendary iceberg.
Or maybe stress was making Danny paranoid. Obviously, he hadn’t been nearly paranoid enough through this whole venture.
Instead of taking Danny through the copyists’ room again, the attendant took a shorter route that went directly to the front lobby of the library.
The librarian at the desk frowned at him. “What happened to you?”
“Quiet ones. Lost ones. Whatever.” Danny pulled the visitor’s badge from his pocket, and spared a moment to appreciate that it was still intact before putting it on the librarian’s desk. “Can you undo this?”
The librarian picked up the badge and stared at first it, then Danny, then back at it again. “You will have to explain what happened to you.”
“Your mysterious legendary bogymen have hijacked your system and were maybe caused by your system. And your library steals voices.”
“Pardon?”
“These ghosts who looked like this-” he gestured at himself, “-kidnapped me and made me look like this by drawing the symbols you had on your badges.”
“Ah,” said the librarian. She turned to look at the attendant. “Could you please send a message to the Library of Tongues? I assume that you want to be picked up.”
“Why?”
“Because it is very unlikely that I will be able to completely reverse this, and I doubt you will want to fly back while you are… like this.”
“Do you think I live in the Library of Tongues?”
“I don’t think you live anywhere,” said the Librarian. “But you are a member, aren’t you?”
Danny pinched the bridge of his nose. It wasn’t a terrible suggestion, all things considered. Flying through the Zone while he felt this flimsy wasn’t something he really wanted to do. Even if there were other problems… like his parents’ equipment… his parents… and who the Library of Tongues would send…

Ninjago - Waiting for Your Morro
Part I here!
When Wu told you that today was all about remembering, there was no doubt that you’d come here. It was somewhere that reminded you of your old love; you spent your early years flying kites with him in this quiet meadow, and in later years he’d impress you with his wind powers by making the long grass flop this way and that.
You slowly tread through the grass, cool and soft in the night air, breathing in familiar scents of grass and wildflowers. You were used to the sky being a vibrant blue, but today it was black and speckled with stars. Still, you could remember everything vividly.
“Y/n, Y/n, are you watching?”
“I’m watching, Morro!”
“Okay, look at—that!”
“Oh wow! Did Wu teach you that?”
“Yup! My training’s going pretty well, eh?”
“Yeah… you’re gonna be a master in no time…”
The innocent dark head of hair flopped to one side quizzically, a sad look coming into those dark eyes. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
“You won’t forget me when you’re all great and powerful, will you?”
“Y/n, how many times do I have to tell you? It’s you and me, forever and ever! No matter what!”
“I know, but…”
“Shh!” His hands grabbed your face, forcing your gaze up from your feet to his eyes. “When I’m the most powerful ninja, you’re going to be right there beside me. And if you’re not, I’m going to hunt you down and force you to be with me!”
You couldn’t help the giggle that bubbled out of you at that. “Okay then. But I’d never say no to you.”
“And I’d never let you go anyway.”
You picked a flower bud, still green as it had not bloomed yet, and twisted it between your fingers. You let out a shivering breath and tucked it behind your ear. It stung to remember, but you knew that this was what today was all about.
I refuse to forget you, Morro. Even if it hurts to remember.
You managed to dry the steady flow of tears that came from your eyes on your way back to the museum. You sniffed sharply when you realized you were the last one coming back; the other ninjas were already talking among themselves at the top of the steps.
As you hurried up to meet them, you noticed an air of trouble emulating from their serious faces and grim voices.
You were planning to ask what was wrong, but the looks they gave you when they saw you approaching silenced you before that could happen. They were first surprised to see you, then they each adopted a unique impression of awkwardness. They exchanged knowing looks and grimaced, and Kai kept glancing over behind them.
The way they were standing seemed to be shielding someone, and you guessed that whoever this person was, they were the reason that the ninjas were acting so awkward.
Jay was the first to say something. “Uh, we should be on our way, guys…”
He was met with (almost too eager) responses.
“Yup! Lots to do!”
“We’ll explain later, Y/n. See ya!”
“Bye bye now!”
“Have fun, you kids!”
That last response, which had come from Kai, caught you off guard. You turned to watch the ninjas as they scurried past you, quizzically quirking up your brow.
Suddenly it was all obvious. The final clue had come in the form of a voice, a voice you could never forget, the voice that played in your head whenever there was a second of silence.
“Y/n..?”
You whirled around, eyes huge. And there he was.
Your arms were around each other before either of you could even remember moving, and there was the sound of laughing sobs muffled in cloth as you buried your faces in each other.
“I knew—” you hiccuped, squeezing tighter, “I knew I’d see you again.”
“So did I. Nothing can keep us separated,” he mused, pulling away to give you a mischievous look. It was as if you never spent a day apart.
There was a moment of breathless silence. Morro was looking you over, his eyes shining with pure affection. “You’re beautiful.”
You smiled. “You said that before.”
“I’ll say it again. And again. And again, until the end of time. You’re beautiful,” he squeezed your hand.
You looked down at your interlocked fingers, a twinge of sadness tainting your joy.
“I waited for you, you know. Every day. Every night.”
He blinked at you; you weren’t quite sure if it was because he hadn’t expected such devotion, or if he just hadn’t expected the change in mood.
“I tried to come back. I… I wanted to see you, too.”
“Did you?” Your eyes were teary when they met his, and you looked away shamefully when you saw the same pain in his eyes.
“I did. But… there are rules. Rules that not even I can break. And you know how I like to break rules.”
You let out a weak laugh. “…I understand.”
You felt his fingers under your chin, and you were gently guided back to his gaze.
“Y/n, remember what I said? It’s you and me, forever and ever.”
You laughed again, more genuinely this time, but with tears trickling down your cheeks. “You remember that?”
“I remember everything I promised to you. And I live by those promises. Well, maybe not live anymore,” he smirked, but shook his head to dismiss the little jest. “We may be in different realms, but we’re still tied to each other. And one day, that long cord that separates us will grow shorter, and you’ll be at my side again. We just have to be patient.”
Your lips pressed into a thin line, and you gave the slightest of nods.
“I knew you’d understand… you were always the reasonable one.”
You embraced again, limbs tight around each other. You breathed unsteadily into his shoulder for a long time, trying to collect yourself before facing him again, and at the same time basking in his touch.
When you came apart again you held on to each other’s forearms, your stomachs still pressed together with your faces fervently close.
“You’ve waited for me,” Morro whispered, his dark eyes dripping with wist and admiration, “but this is the last time I can come to you.”
You closed your eyes, your head dropping. Your forehead hit his, and he continued:
“Now it’s my turn to wait for you. And don’t you rush to get to me,” he chided, pressing his forehead firmly into yours in a show of affection. “Just try to live happily, okay?”
“Okay.” The word came out in a quivering rasp that was really not much more than a whisper.
You opened your eyes, finding a profound smile on Morro’s lips that somehow caught on your own face.
You knew it was time to say goodbye, but despite this your tears chose to stop flowing at this moment.
“Hey,” Morro said, clearly as an afterthought that would be the last thing he said to you in a long time, “guess what?”
“What?”
“I love you.”
You found yourself laughing, giving his shoulder a hardy punch as the attitude of old friends once more overtook your demeanor. “You’re an idiot.”
But just as he went to leave, you had to shout: “Hey!”
You knew that there would be no more tears; his promises put a new hope in your heart that far overpowered any sorrow you had. You knew you’d be together again someday, but now you were sure of it. And so you spoke with the voice of someone saying goodbye to a lover they’d see later that same day when you said:
“I love you too.”

Hi! It's me again :3, I don't know (and remember) if anyone has asked this before but I would like to know:
How did OG!MK feel when he found out that SW is his father in another dimension (I feel like Mei would say something like "See? I told you he was your dad" or something)
If it happens before S4, I feel like Mk would be a little jealous of his other self seeing that he doesn't have the problem of not knowing who his biological parents.
(The idea occurred to me when I remembered a tiktok that said MK used any type of editing app to get an idea of what his parents would look like 🥲)
omg if you have that tiktok I'd love a link XD
Think i did do a post like that ages ago, but only with an earlier draft of TMKATI and canon. Now I have like three more verses to torment MK with >:)
When the Canon verse and the other verses collide, the quickest thing the MKs would notice is their appearances.
OG!MK: "Whoa!! These me's are monkey demons!" TMKATI!MK: "And you guys are... human???" SlowBoiled!MK: "Yeah, why wouldn't him- I mean me be?" CenturyEgg!MK: "I don't know about you guys - but my parents are monkey demons. Then again my gōtā [dad's gender neutral older sibling] is human, I think???" JTTWEgg!MK: "My parents are monkey demons! The coolest monkey demons ever I may brag." TMKATI!MK: "Oh no way! My parents are monkey demons too! i have a bunch of adopted siblings though. Does your dad work with Bóbo[dad's older brother] Pigsy too?" CenturyEgg!MK: "No cus Uncle Pigsy and Tang lives in the city. We all live on Flower Fruit Mountain - but we visit as often as possible! Uncle Sandy ferries us across all the time." :3 OG!MK: "Wow!! You two live on the mountain!? What's it like?" JTTWEgg!MK, shrugging: "It's cool." CenturyEgg!MK: "Sometimes feel pressured by my role as Heir to the Stone Throne - but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I really don't like having to visit the Celestial Realm though. The nobles are kinda mean about my dad cus he caused a bunch of havoc a long time ago." The Other MKs: "wut" OG!MK: "Uh... Please explain who your parents are?" CenturyEgg!MK, confused by their confusion: "Sun Wukong the Monkey King, and Liu'er Mihou the Sage of Wind??? I thought you guys were too???" JTTWEgg!MK: "Yeah, mine are too. I thought you guys knew??" SlowBoiled!MK: "No- well kind- it's complicated! Ok!?" TMKATI!MK: "Not me. My parents are normal monkey demons, dude." OG!MK: "Oh my gods the Monkey King *is* our dad in another universe! Mei is never gonna let me forget this!" CenturyEgg!MK: "Well techinically he's my mom too so..." The Other MKs: "lol wat?" JTTWEgg!MK: "lol same."
The different MKs collaborate to tell stories about themselves (and get a solid PSA on Stone Eggs) while their respective Meis are snapping photos with eachother.
The different monkeys watch on nervously. The different monkey kings are sitting politely as their Macaques hiss at eachother from across the room.
OG!SWK: "So uh... did you tell him yet?" Other Monkeys: "Tell him what?" SlowBoiled!SWK: "About him being made by Nuwa, or the fact that we were forced to abandon him?" The CenturyEgg and TMKATI monkeys: "What." TMKATI!SWK, laughing nervously: "What? Oh gods no. I thought you guys meant telling him who we are!" The Other Monkeys: "Wut" CenturyEgg!SWK: "Your MK doesn't know that you guys are... Us?" TMKATI!LEM: "Nah, we've sorta been off-the-grid ever since genius here [thumb-points at his SWK] got me pregnant with our MK." The Stone Egg au SWKs: "Hah!" "Uno reverse card, plums!" Stone Egg LEMs: *all three have varying looks of horror, indignance, and bashfulness* SlowBoiled!LEM: "I said I was sorry!" OG!LEM: "Wait... what do you mean by sorry?" SlowBoiled!LEM, looking uncomfortable: "Cus of our uh... fight under the Mountain, and me not returning to feed him, I sorta caused Wukong's body to create a Stone Egg... and then I sorta died before I found out so..." JTTWEgg!LEM: "Ooof. Glad I learned early then." CenturyEgg!SWK, to his SlowBoiled counterpart: "Oh bummer, you got left with Stone Egg all the way back then? I started up the process willingly after I had to seal away DBK. When was the little guy born?" SlowBoiled!SWK: "Little lady actually. Yuebei was born about six months ago. Our MK was crafted by Nuwa - then again I did raise him the first year until I became too weak to care for him..." *looks sad* TMKATI and CenturyEgg monkeys: "Oh no..." :( "Stone eggs are super dangerous to the people around them. I don't blame you." JTTWEgg!SWK: "Odd. I got an Egg from the mountain too - but mine was born shortly after I completed the Journey. And mine was our MK. Did losing Mihou make the process longer??" OG Monkeys: "What?" "How many of you have MK as your kid!?" (*Cue them having to make a Venn Diagram of Whos' MK is What to Whom*) OG!SWK: "Ok so! Mine and the guy with the super-adorbs baby got our MKs dumped on us." SlowBoiled Monkeys: *proudly showing photos of their Yuebei* OG!LEM: "The me in sweatpants had him cus of a comet /slash/ stone egg soul mishap." TMKATI!LEM: "Oh, my Wukong was still responsible there. He sealed the Harbringer's soul inside me after using a sealing spell. TMKATI!SWK: "I panicked, ok!" OG!SWK, pointing at the remaining universes: "Annnd you two literally birthed him yourselves." CenturyEgg and JttwEgg SWKs: "Yup." "Stone shell and all." OG!SWK: "...is there anything else I'm missing?" The other universes: (*scratching their chins in thought*) SlowBoiled!LEM, slyly: "So are you guys back together yet, or what?" OG Monkeys: "What!?" "As if!"
Laughter just erupts around the room as the canon shadowpeach pairing realises that they're the odd ones out as *not* being together.
Complete and utter chaos reigns when the parent and MK groups reunite, and they recognise some sort of connection...

Frostbite °• : 。 - Chapter II
Wendigo/Skinwalker x Reader
CW: Gore, animal deaths. The religion is made up and in no way do I intent to offend anyone, please don't read if such subjects trigger you.
Tumblr media
I stare at my laptop screen, wanting to bang my head against the wall as I observe the blank page.
Yesterday I actually managed to fall asleep. The tapping didn't continue, but that's probably more disturbing. I would've brushed it off as the quirk of the cabin, but it was so random.
I sigh and close the laptop, lazily lifting myself off the couch and deciding to make myself another cup of coffee. I go outside and sit on the porch, drinking the steaming, bitter liquid. I watch the forest and I feel it drawing me in.
I keep watching the hypnotizing sway of the trees with the gentle wind, before I bring the now empty cup into the house and head out again, walking straight into the forest.
I wonder if it's still there.
As a child, I'd always wander into the forest, making mud pies, finding big sticks and hopefully searching for the animals. In my child, naive mind I thought I'd hop on their backs and they'd take me away into the wonderland.
Then I saw it... Not a cute, big eyed, furry animal, but the monstrously enormous monastery. What once used to be a praying space was then broken down and abandoned. And despite my fear, I went in.
The walls were painted with blood, carcasses of small animals hung loosely from the ceiling... In the very edge of the room, what I assume a recently killed deer was hung on the wall, its body was cut from it's neck to it's stomach, as if showing off it's insides.
I ran home crying and mom never brought me here after that. I assume it was something ritualistic. I shouldn't have wondered into the 17-19th century broken down catholic church anyways.
I sigh and kick around in the snow.
Looking down I see something. I furrow my brows and lean down, looking at what I assume is a deer footprint.
Then I hear shuffling behind me. I immediately turn around and-
"Oh, hi..." - A man waves at me awkwardly. He has dark hair with a matching pair of almond shaped eyes. Lashes, longer than my own rest on his eyelids under his thick brows. His hair is a little overgrown and he has a bit of stubble. He's wearing warm clothes and there's a hunting rifle in his left hand.
"Ah- You scared me." - I chuckle sheepishly.
"Sorry." - He smiles. - "What are you doing here?"
"...Taking a walk, I guess?"
"All alone? These woods are dangerous." - He furrows his brows a little.
"Really? I used to play in here all the time when I was a child..."
"You live here?" - He tilts his head and rests the rifle on the snowy ground.
"Not really, me and my family used to come here in summer. Now I'm here to uh, work, I guess?"
He smiles again. - "I just moved a few months ago."
I eye his rifle. - "You like hunting?"
"I hunt for food." - He corrects me. He then gives me his free hand to shake, and I do so. - "...Nathan."
"Y/N. You said the forest is dangerous? I've only seen deer so far..."
"Wolves." - He answers Shortly. - "But yes, there are lots of deer in here. Check this out," - He comes closer and leans down, pointing at the footprints I was observing before. - "I've never seen a footprint of a deer that big. If I manage to catch it, I won't have to hunt for a few weeks, maybe even a month. I swear to God I've been trying to hunt it down for days." - He sighs.
"Oh wow." - I tilt my head. - "Hunting seems intense."
"It's not as hard if you know the basics. Just long... And I'm impatient." - He chuckles. - "I could show you."
He looks at me with a smile and I find it hard to decline his offer. I smile back and nod.
We walk for a while, getting to know each other. He then lays down behind a fallen log and motions for me to do the same. We wait for a while and then two deer walk into our view. Nathan looks at me and brings his finger to his lips to hush me.
It all happens fast, there's a bang and the deer falls as the other runs away. Nathan gets up and approaches it. "You gotta be humane when you kill them, try aiming where it would have vital organs so it dies fast."
I hesitantly follow him. I look at the deers hooves and only then do I realize the huge difference between these and the footprints I saw earlier. The footprints were three, if not four times bigger.
I start to get bad vibes from this. - "...Have you seen big deer before?"
Nathan looks at me with a puzzled expression. - "Huh?"
"You said the footprints we saw earlier were big." - I say and sit on the nearby rock. - "You see them often?"
"...Not really."
"That's... Disturbing." - I sneer.
Nathan grins. - "Why, you worried for me?"
I snort. - "No, I'm worried for myself. I live on the edge of the forest." - I joke and he chuckles.
"It's totally a deer, I'm sure nothing to worry about." - He shrugs and starts tying the rope around the dead animal. - "If you're too worried, though..."
He stands up straight and approaches me, placing his hands on the rock, trapping me in-between. - "I could give you my number."
I chuckle and he backs up. - "The service is shitty but we can text. I don't like calls anyways."
"Okay." - I grin and he smiles. I write my number in my notepad, tearing the paper out and giving it to him after.
"You should go now, it's getting dark. Want me to walk you?"
I shrug. - "Nope. Just lead me towards the main path and I'll return myself." - I instruct him.
The walk home isn't too long, and I find myself attracted to the man as he waves at me. I walk into the cabin and sigh, happy to be embraced by warmth.
Then the deer footprints float up into my mind and I feel uneasy. How can Nathan be so calm? The deer is probably humongous, why? Is it a type of anomaly?
My worries wash away as my phone buzzes and I see a text from an unknown number.
"So you live on the edge of the forest? If you see a seven foot deer, text me asap ;P"

Under your spell
Janis ‘Imi’ike x fem! reader
Warnings: coarse language, angst, fluff
Memories resurface for Regina when she watches Janis and reader at the winter ball, feeling sadness and jealousy she shouldn’t be feeling
Read other parts to the series, here!
Tumblr media
“Do not accept any alcohol.” Regina reminded them.
“I know, I know.” You and Janis answered.
Checking themselves in the mirror, a honk outside their building gets their attention. “Damian’s here.” Janis says, “Let’s go guys.”
Janis walked out with you first, arm around your waist. Regina and Cady were right behind you two, holding hands.
“Damn, I know this isn’t your car, dude.” Janis laughs, getting in the back.
“You’d be right. It’s his car.” Damian smirked pointing to someone in the front passenger seat.
You all laughed, but realised he wasn’t joking when the guy in front with him turned around, “Hi, guys. It’s my Dad’s car, I told you.”
Damian chuckles, “Sorry. But what’s the difference? You get to use it too.”
“So is this just a date or are you two together? Finally?” Janis asks.
“We’re together now.” Damian squeals.
You all gasped, “Wow, good for you.” Regina spoke first. “That’s great.” You and Cady said, one after the other.
“Okay, party people. Music time!” Damian swiftly drives away, letting whoever wanted to control the music, do so.
The group of you all entered and walked through the school together to get to the gymnasium. Needless to say, this little habit has always gotten the attention of pretty much everyone. With your shoulders back and head held high, all you felt and looked amazing.
“You guys!” Gretchen squealed, “You guys look amazing!” Karen trailed behind her, “Hi.” She laughs.
“Aw, thank you.” Damian laughed, tucking imaginary hair behind his ear.
“You guys waited for long?”
“No, we just got here like ten minutes ago.” Karen answered. Gretchen nodded, “Mhm, come on! You guys need to get some drinks!”
You looked over at Janis and couldn’t help but laugh at how excited they all were. She smiles at you, rubbing your lower back then winded her arm around you protectively.
Regina sees it all, being right behind you and Janis. Her fists clenched as she bit the inside of her cheek, feeling like she was beginning to get suffocated by a heavy blanket of jealousy.
‘What is the matter with you?’ Regina seethed, ‘They always do that. There’s nothing wrong with that.’
So abrupt, so intense, she nearly burst into tears as she walked towards the table to get drinks with her friends. A painful lump forms in her throat and her eyes sting, but Cady stops her from crying— indirectly. By talking to her, "What drink do you want, G?"
The blonde blinks, vision coming back into focus, "Uh, fruit punch is fine." She points at the dispenser containing said drink then grabbed a chocolate truffle from the tray nearby to shove into her mouth.
"Alright, North Shore!" Shane Oman's voice rang through the speakers, startling Regina out of all people. Cady notices, squeezing her hand as she handed her the cup of punch. "We've got some song requests lined up already, but please come on down and request away, people!"
You and Janis slipped away to look for the guy at the front by the turntables. Janis requested for the song, he shrugged, found it and queued it up. "Thanks, man."
"Oh, Janis!" Gretchen exclaimed behind you and Janis, you turned around, then Janis did. "Hey! What's up?"
"Oh, I just thought of something. You two wanna go back to New York for Christmas?"
"It's so magical." Karen chimed in.
You and Janis shared a look to ask each other in silence. "We'd love that." You said in unison.
"Aah! It'll be such a fun time." Gretchen laughs, "I can't find the rest of the gang but I'll ask them once I see 'em. Otherwise, I'll ask in the group-chat after the Ball."
"Okay, great." You nodded.
Unbeknownst to any of you, Regina was once again watching you all. You and Janis, especially. She wasn't even trying— you just kept showing up and she was slowly losing her mind over the littlest things. Each peck, each kiss, each touch you and Janis shared seemed to crush her heart, emptying out the blood and filling the empty space up with bitterness.
Closing her eyes briefly as she buried her face in her hands, she only looked back up when she felt a hand on her thigh. She knew it was Cady's. Looking straight ahead at nothing in particular, her mind starts to wander. Memories with Janis flooded her head without an end, haunting her in chronological order. Each flashback made her feel worse, and worse, and worse. It felt like air was getting sucked out of her lungs by the minute.
Their first meeting, first playdate, first day of elementary school, first day of middle school, Janis getting her period at lunch one day and how she helped the girl through it, Regina ending up in the hospital for a tonsillectomy and Janis being the first person to visit her, all the birthdays they've celebrated together. Every little moment's crept up on her and resurfaced despite her best efforts to forget. To move on.
Then came you, losing your mind over Janis, the nerves, the anxiety. The excitement. How Regina basically helped you secure a first date with Janis. How she talked everything out with the artist, and thought she was all fine. The shell of hatred was shed, for them both. Finally ready to live a life where she was doing better, being a better person. Maybe she was, but this part of her, suppressed and forgotten, has been screaming to be tended to. Years and years of friendship and deep connection with Janis, had to be forgotten thanks to her need to get a boy’s attention. A boy who didn’t even deserve her time, a boy who she didn’t even like. A boy that she’d forced herself to like in order to fill her mind with someone else who wasn’t…Janis ‘Imi’ike. The regret was eating her alive…she felt like she was going to pass out, brain overloading. She’d been in denial for too long, causing her to continue with that denial. Until it was too late. She loved Cady, so much. But Janis was forever going to be a special person in her life, though the two would find their own reasons to be different. So very different.
“Regina.” A squeeze on her thigh snaps her out of her bubble of emotions.
“Huh?” She asked the redhead blankly.
“What’s going on? You’ve been staring into space for like, the last three minutes. Are you feeling okay? It’s very loud in here so if you want to step outside, we can do that.”
“I— I uh, I’m okay.” Regina clears her throat, shifting uncomfortably on the bleachers, a familiar song started playing.
Vegas: yours and Janis’ song. Cue another stab to the heart, and the bitterness filling up even more, mixed with regret and sadness, and jealousy. She could feel herself reach her breaking point soon.
She loved you, you were innocent in all of this. A tiny part of her brain blames Janis for not sticking around, speaking up sooner, hoping that that would’ve allowed them to be on talking terms sooner and way more than that. But Regina was too prideful and afraid, and Janis? She was humiliated and heartbroken. Day by day, the distance between them drifted to a point of no return to their prime. In a way, you brought them back together but things were no doubt extremely different.
‘Regina, stop this bullshit. Suck. It. Up, life had to move on. You cannot blame anyone else but yourself. Pull your shit—’
Your hearty laughter pierced her ears. Distant, but the sound drifted to her since the song was quiet. Her eyes squinted to focus, watching you and Janis laughing at a joke she’d just shared. You feel her watching, then your eyes spot her. Excitedly, you waved at her. She fakes a smile and waved back. Cady chuckles, “They’re so sweet together.”
“Mhm.” Regina agrees absentmindedly, unable to shake the feelings.
Later that night, back in Damian’s boyfriend’s car, what really did it for Regina was you and Janis making out in the two seats behind her and Cady. She turned around and glared at you both. “Regina, relax. They’re just—” Cady puts an arm around her waist. The blonde’s nostrils flared, eyes dark. Cady squints, confused and worried. “What happened?”
Regina ignores her, you obviously didn’t notice since you were busy. But once you all got home, it was so obvious something was wrong. It was clear as day that Regina was…furious?
Shit. She couldn’t be mad at you and Janis for kissing in the back, right?
“Okay, you look terrifying right now.” Damian was going to leave but noticed something was off, then he got to see your sister’s face.
“Thanks, Damian. How nice of you.” She growled, “I’m not fine. Y’all happy? I’m not fine, I haven’t been fine in years. I’ve been lying to myself, gaslighting myself into thinking I’m okay, that I’ve got it all. Making sure I don’t flunk out of school, making sure mom and dad don’t tear each other’s heads off, making sure they don’t hit you, fucking helped you ask Janis out because you were so nervous but I wanted you to be happy, working and working so I wouldn’t have to be home as much and worry and make remind myself of what I could’ve had, who I have always wanted to be with. So that we can stay away from shitty parents, a shitty life. I just— I’ve been a horrible person and I don’t mean it, I’m just tired of being used as a doormat at home and wanted to protect myself but I ended up hurting so many people.”
Now you, you were in a panic and so desperately trying not to cry. You always knew that Regina kept things to herself, your attempts to get her to open up always proved themselves to be useless. She’d tell you not to worry about her, but you did anyway, you just learnt not to bother her with that question. Now, you’ve been doing something that’d been hurting her every single day: being with Janis. Cady, Damian, Henry and Janis stood around, stunned. You were similarly in so much shock then you’d nearly kissed the floor and got knocked the fuck out.
You sniffled, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t— don’t apologise. Never do that when something’s not your fault.” Regina said to you, shakily. Her whole frame was shaking. She continues to sob silently, head hiding in her palms.
Cady sat down beside her, “You’re okay. You’ll be okay, we’re gonna make sure of that.”
“I love you.” Regina sat up, looking straight at Cady, “I love you, so much, Cady. Please never forget that. Please…I just— I just need to get over all that. I need help.”
Your mind went blank after that, and you stood up to leave the living room. Damian gives you a hug, rubbing your back before you go into your room. Janis was instantly right behind you. You couldn’t cry, you shouldn’t be crying. You didn’t need to be, your life was great thanks to Regina. She’d sacrificed so much, little by little. You’d failed as a sister to have her back. Like she had yours.
You sigh heavily, undressing and changing into pyjamas, abandoning your outfit on the ground. “How could I have been so blind?” You asked yourself.
“Honey, no. Don’t say that, you’re not—”
“She’s done so much for me, and what have I done for her? What? I’ve only made her feel shitty about her life. God, I suck— I wish I never existed.”
Janis’ heart sank to the pit of her stomach, your last few words ringing through her ears on a loop.
“y/n, she loves you. Don’t say that, baby. I love y—”
You stared up at her with glossed eyes, “Really? When did your feelings for my sister stop?”
Janis felt her stomach do something like a somersault, god how she hated this feeling.
“I love you. Any feelings for her died that night, when I was twelve. When she destroyed me, humiliated me day after day. Now all I see is you, y/n. I don’t want to lose you too, I can’t lose another person that I care so much about. I love you.”
"Fuck. I don't know what to do Jan. We're on our own, she needs help. How do I get her help? Ask her to do all that herself? What's new?" You groaned, vexed.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
You looked at her, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"Do you want to see someone about...everything?"
You froze, looking up at her still, feeling snot dripping down your nose. You sniffed, "Uh...yes?"
"Okay." Janis nodded firmly, sitting beside you, "If you go, I'll go too. We will all go— we'll all get the help we need and heal."
Licking your lips, you exhaled shakily, you look at her. Her gaze melts into yours, full of love as always. "I love you, Janis. Thank you, for loving me even when I feel like I can't do that for myself."

for some reason I just have this really like uh…. Basically a Romeo and Juliet styled forbennie love between Fem reader and DMC 3 Dante
ooooohohoho yes....
Forbidden Love (DMC3!Dante x Fem!Reader)
You grinned to yourself, unable to help but chuckle as you made your way through the winding streets of Red Grave, eager to reach your rendezvous spot as soon as possible. Tonight was a glorious night; your parents were out at the opera, and Dante's parents were out of town for work, meaning that tonight was the perfect night for you and your secret boyfriend to have a little meetup.
When you reached your previously agreed upon meeting place, you found that Dante was already there. "Hey, babe!" You called, running into his arms. Dante chuckled, sweeping you off your feet and twirling you around. "Hey there, milady," He joked, kissing your forehead. "Miss me?" You nodded, hooking your arms around his shoulders and nestling into his chest. "You have no idea," You sighed, rubbing your face against his smooth pecs. "No idea..."
Your family, the L/Ns, had been feuding with the Spardas for several centuriee; your ancestors had an outrageous amount of beef with Dante's ancestors. Despite this, and the stern warnings of both your parents, you were in love, ancient grudges be damned. While this forbidden romance was blissful, it was also stressful. Both your families kept pushing suitors and suitresses on you two, only to be utterly dismayed when both of you turned them all down. This behavior, though understandable at first, had grown to be quite upsetting--so much so that your parents threatened to take away certain privileges unless you settled down with someone.
Fortunately, you both had your youth to blame for your unwillingness to marry, and if there was one thing parents loved more than finding spouses for their children, it was having their children possess an incentive to learn. As long as you kept your grades up and took up various hobbies, you would be free of parental pestering for the next 5 years or so.
Dante sniggered at the way you held onto him, pressing a kiss to your forehead before setting you down and taking your hand. "Wanna take a walk?" You nodded, eager to spend more time with the love of your life.
Dante led you down the street, towards a gravel path, and into a serene, peaceful looking forest. The thick growth trees blocked out most of the moonlight, but there was such an abundance of fireflies, it didn't really matter. You gasped in amazement as Dante led you towards a large cave covered in luminescent moss. It glowed in the darkness; beauty unlike anything you'd ever seen. "Wow..." You gasped, looking around in wonder. "This is so cool!" Dante chuckled, folding his hands behind his head. "Ya like it? 'Course you do, I know you." Smirking, he strode up and playfully mussed up your hair. "Scouted this place out just for us...and no one else knows. It'll be our little secret, kay?" You beamed, wrapping your arms around his waist and burying your face in his chest again. "Aww, you're the best, Dante!" Happily, Dante wrapped his arms around you and squashed you against his chest. "I know, I'm the greatest," He laughed, kissing your forehead. "And so are you. I love you, babe." You reached up and kissed him squarely on the lips, throwing your arms around his shoulders and holding on with all your strength. "I love you too, Dante."
Suddenly, your phone vibrated. Sighing, you let go of your boyfriend, pulled it out, and checked your notifications. Your parents had texted you, announcing that they'd be home in 30 minutes. You groaned, tucking your phone back into your pocket. "Sorry, Dante...as much as I wish we could continue, my parents'll be home soon." Dante nodded, pressing one last kiss to your cheek. "I get it. Go on home. Maybe later tonight I'll....surprise you and give you a night to remember." He winked with that last remark, blowing you a kiss after. Blushing furiously, you lightly slapped his arm before hurrying away. "I'll take that as a yes?" He called, sniggering when you didn't answer. It was more than a yes, and he knew that--it was an absolutely.

"Pavs!"
Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Mumbattan's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, swings smoothly from a lamp post and dives with a twril to land before you. A smile pulls at your lips. Show off.
"Ready, N/n?"
You nod, circling your arms around his neck. He secures one arm around your waist, holding you close to his chest, and aims his web at a tall building.
"Hold on tight. 3.. 2..1! WhooOHOOO!"
You squeal excitedly as he swings from building to building, navigating effortlessly through the traffic. It's like riding a roller coaster except you're swinging. You heart pumps faster from the adrenaline rush and you wind yourself tighter around him, almost crushing him in fear as he swings higher and higher.
"Hey", he says gently removing unwinding your arm, "You can open your eyes now."
What feels like forever has been only a few minutes when you find yourself on the rooftop of a skyscraper in the middle of the city.
The view is picturesque but you don't get to appreciate it for long, busy throwing up in the corner. Pavitr winces and turns his face away, peeling off his mask as he sits on the edge of the terrace.
"Sssssorry..."
Luckily you've brought water and you rinse your mouth, coming to sit beside Pavitr cautiously.
"See? I told you it'd be fun!"
"It is thrilling, but.. you sure we won't accidentally fall off? I mean..", your breathing picks up as you look below, "it's soooo high.."
"Don't look down!"
Too late. The world around begins to spin as gravity calls for you. Oh no..
Pavitr pulls you back into safety and rubs your back in soothing motions. "Relax. I got'chu, N/n."
"How do you do this everyday without getting your insides twisted!?"
He shrugs as it's obvious. "I'm Spider-Man."
"Yeah, because that explains everything", you sass, shooting him an unamused look. "Poor Gayatri, though."
Pavitr flushes, eyes flitting everywhere but at you as he rubs his neck. "Uh, you're actually the first... she doesn't know yet.."
Oh, of course! You were the only one to know his secret identity. And not because he told you; you'd accidentally caught him crawl into his bedroom wall wearing the suit and you put two and two together.
You set the street food you bought for this 'picnic' down. Seven vada pavs and two cardamom teas.
"Did you just say I'm special?", you tease.
"Nah, you're just lucky to catch me that night."
You surprise him water to his face in playful retaliation, giggling. He reaches to grab your bottle but you keep it out of his reach, attacking him when he tries to shoot his webs.
"Hey!"
He laughs, trying to sheild himself, and, Gods, it's a beautiful sound. You stare entranced, the beautiful pink sunset painting a romantic backdrop as the last rays catch his wet hair, making it shine. The peachy colour falls on his tan skin and Pavitr looks ethereal. He wears that flirty smile that helps him charm his way out of chores, eyes sparkling and -wow, are you in a Bollywood movie? Surely, this must be a dream.
Mmmm... <;3
"I know, right!"
His voice snaps you out of your reverie. What the hell, you were supposed to be in control of your emotions, not practically drool on your crush!
"What?", you ask, hoping you didn't blurt out anything embarrassing. You have GOT to stop zoning out when he's right there.
His gloves are off and he holds a vada paav in each hand, stuffing both into his mouth.
When did he-?
"The vada pav -Mmmm!", he moans with a full mouth, "this is The best food to ever exist! It's amrutha!"
"All street foods are ambrosia for you."
"No, no, this really is divine! Here, have a taste-"
You let him feed you, enjoying it while it lasts with the painful knowledge that this won't mean as much to him the way it means to you.
Your relationship was doomed to ever remain platonic but you will cherish these little moments of your unrequited love till the day you die, alone and still pining.
Yeah... Pavitr has a girlfriend, who's none other than your mutual bestie, Gayatri Singh. Neither of them have told you yet, but it's obvious. The way they look at each other, always a twinkle in their orbs as they speak eye to eye -the love language of love. Little smiles, sneaky looks, inside jokes.. you feel left out, but maybe it is for the best. It's like, if you acknowledged it, then there will be no denying it and this love-castle you've built in your head will collapse.
One-sided love is like the thorns in a rose: it hurts, but letting go means you can't admire the flower anymore. And, you've gripped the stupid thing with your whole palm and now you're bleeding.
'It's not like anyone likes me, anyway', negative thoughts begin to plague you. 'I'm the odd one out, the outsider, the one that doesn't fit in. Invisible, unless they have a use of me.'
Self-loathing was a dangerous wormhole and you only spiralled more into it as you recalled your ex. You had briefly dated another guy to take Pavitr off your mind but it ended poorly. Pavitr had been there for you then too but it did no good. What little self-esteem you had never increased after that.
Realizing your eyes had moistened, you inhale sharply and look out into the city that never sleeps to distract yourself.
You loved the night sky. Grandma always said that when people die, they become stars. Perhaps, one day, you'll be one too. Watch another poor soul like you pine over someone they can never have.
A stray tear slips down your cheek and you're quick to wipe it away, hoping Pavitr didn't notice it. The last thing you want is for him to ask, because you know you'll blurt out your feelings and it'll be the end.
You shake yourself out of it, pushing those thoughts away. Now isn't the time. You are here with Pavitr right now and that's all what's important.
"So cold up here." You shiver, rubbing your arms for warmth. He opens his mouth to retort when you cut him off. "If you say 'I can't control the weather Y/n', I WILL push you off."
He just laughs. "Which King of Mumbattan's Streets would you rather", he asks, holding up another vada paav, "Pav or Pavitr?"
"Easy. Vada pav."
You snerk when he holds his chest in faux pain and reach for the snack, but he insists on feeding you.
"I'm not trusting you at 200 feet high. Also, this is the last one so, we're sharing", he says and shifts closer to you.
Fingers slightly brush against each other, making you tingle and stop protesting as he feeds you again. Control, idiot, control!
Even if he'll never treated you as a lover, it's okay, because just being next to Pavitr makes your day better.
You sip your elaichi chai and watch the city in comfortable silence, welcoming Pavitr move closer. You mind goes on a fieldtrip when your shoulders touch and you try not to blush. Maybe even lean in a little, hoping he won't notice..
Loud honkings corrupt the quiet air as traffic increases in the city below you. You wonder what time it is, glancing at your watch and -OH MY GOD!
You jerk and shoot up but lose balance, though Pavitr is quick to catch you before you slip and fall off the rooftop.
"You okay there?"
"It's past my curfew! Ma will take the broomstick out on me if I am not home in a few!"
"Please, N/n, aunty is so sweet. You're making her look like a villain."
"You're not the one who's gonna be grounded!"
"Stop fretting, we'll be there in ten seconds tops." Pavitr assures you, packing up everything in record time and washes his hands. "Ready?"
He circles his arm around your waist once again, holding securely and swings you home, reaching quicker than before. You land on the balcony of your house, surprisingly not puking this time, as he releases you gently.
Neither of you move and he doesn't seem to let go any soon. Veins thrum in excitement.
"We're early", he says softly looking into your eyes.
The full moon is reflected in his orbs, the moonrays highlighting his features. You want to cry; such a beautiful, good hearted guy can never be yours.
"Huh?"
"It only took nine seconds."
You can't help but blush at how his hands are still around your waist, loosened but still there, blood pumping hot under your skin.
God, he's so close.
"N/n..."
He leans in, and for a moment you forget about everything as his intoxicating scent fills your nose. You beg the Gods to prolong this moment a bit longer.
The sound of your mom yelling from behind the door breaks you apart. Pavitr pulls on his mask and jumps onto the railing, shooting his web onto a nearby building.
The chilly wind blows through his hair and he looks every bit hero as he stands deific under the moonlight.
"Thanks for the date, by the way."
His words take you by surprise. Hope fills your chest and you perk up, but quickly shut it down.
It's not what I'm thinking; he doesn't mean it that way, he's joking.
"It... was it a date?", you ask, slow and hesitant. You need him to say 'yes' but you're not sure what you'll do if he says 'no'.
He's just kidding. Why did you even ask!? Why are you so stubborn that he'll like you back!?
Pavitr's silence makes you anxious. His mask prevents you from seeing his reaction and you grow antsy, unable to decipher his feelings.
"Maybe."
And then, Pavitr's gone, leaving you to ponder over his words in the dark chilly balcony, alone. The city below moves about full of life yet you're frozen in place with your breath taken away.
Maybe.

How about legend and four with a reader who is seen by others as a boy because of his haircut? Like they cut it when they were in guard training or whatever from their hyrule, and the boys see the girls trying to flirt, without knowing that it's not a man? Feel free, just a stupid idea
Four and legand x kinda masc F! Reader / gender-fluid
OMGGGGGG first of all I just wanna say thank you for this request I never thought that I would get a request from one of my fav story makers!! BTW LOV YOUR DARK LINK STUFF :D
(Reader is going to be mostly like shuri from black panther movies and a bit non cannon reactions from characters😔)
Btw sorry this took so long seasonal depression hit me like a truck over the past few weeks:
Tumblr media
~~~
Only just yesterday you finally decided it was time to cut your hair after a while of letting it grow all the way down to your waist. When you finally came out of the inn you and the chain were staying at for a while in gerudo town in wilds world you were almost unrecognizable at first. The only reason they actually knew it was you is because twi sniffed your sent from a mile way.
Wind: “wow I almost didn’t recognize them at first!” 😦
Time: “I don’t think any of us did wind.”
Four: “well he’s got a point- uh… and thei r gone.”
Legand: “great..”
You literally just dashed out of there going to the up draft before taking off the go find riju and hopefully train with her for a while. You eventually found her in north gerudo ruins training on dummies again and you both agreed to battle each other for a bit of training. Little did you know that four and legand were looking for you in gerudo town thinking you’ll be there..
(Yeah I’m doing a lot of time skips because I’m getting a mind grain😬)
—————————
After around 3-4 hours of training with ruji (Btw ruji was the only one that recognized you straight away) you both decided to head to the town hoping the see the chain their already and only after the first few minutes of you both walking into town you started getting stairs and people whispering..
“Did ruji let in an another voe already?”
“Most likely but he’s cute in my opinion.”
Once you heard the vais say that you started giving ruji a side eye like your telling her “let’s bounce” but before you could even take another step a group of vai walked up to you and started commenting how you looked or how strong you were (not like they knew)
While the crowd was just getting larger and ruji was just trying to get you away from there you saw four and legend, and legend looked like he was about to beat the shit out of someone but he somehow kept his composer dragging you out of there in a instant with four watching
“You vai know that’s a female right?”
Four yelled into the crowd making everyone but ruji stunned as they were both pulling you back to the chain
“Never again..”
They both said almost in sync while you just nodded
“Fine fine… bozos-“
“Hey!”
~~~~~
Ye so uh that’s the end I might make a part two after Christmas but ye-
Requests are still open and I’m posting my ais on here so wait up for that and pokepasta stufffffff
BTW STILL LOVE UR STORIES AND THANKS FOR THE REQUEST😁

charcoal stained hands — wjh
Tumblr media
summary: jun falls in love on a tuesday afternoon in an art studio
tags: fluff, college!au, artist!reader, gn!reader wc: 3.1k an: perpetuating the sexy artist trope im sorry. also i apparently don’t know how to characterize jun so if it’s off don’t tell me
Tumblr media
Jun’s never been inside the art building before. He’s not really the artsy type so he’s never had a reason to, but now he’s gotten himself a bit lost as he wanders around the building looking for his best friend.
The art building is huge with multiple floors and lots of long winding hallways that lead to nowhere. Not to mention the countless number of studios that Minghao could be hiding out in. This could take him all day just to find one person.
Jun turns the corner and walks right into a drawing studio. The room has a high ceiling and there’s easels and stools all over the room. There’s only one person occupying the room.
You sit on a stool, frowning at a half filled piece of paper. There’s black charcoal all over your hands and up your arms and smeared across your jeans. The drawing itself looks to be a portrait of someone, but it hasn’t taken enough from yet for Jun to guess who it is.
You turn when you hear someone approaching and Jun has to take a moment to take all of you in. Jun’s never been someone who believes in love at first sight, but he just might now. You’re probably the most beautiful person Jun has ever seen in his life, and he’s friends with Jeonghan.
Everything about you is perfect from your facial features to the style of your hair to the clothes you’re wearing. It wouldn’t surprise Jun if a glowing halo just appeared atop your head.
“Oh, hi.” Even your voice is pretty. “Are you looking for something?”
It takes Jun a few more seconds to realize you’re talking to him. “Uh, more like someone. Would you possibly happen to know where Xu Minghao is?”
“Minghao…Minghao…”
“You might know him as Myungho?”
“Oh Myungho! Yes, I actually do know where he is. Here let me show you, it’s easy to get lost in this building.” Jun doesn’t have the heart to tell you he’s already lost just standing in this room.
You jump up from where you are sitting and quickly wipe your hands off on a towel sitting on your easel. Your hands are still covered in the black pigment but it doesn’t seem to phase you as you make your way out of the room, Jun following behind you.
“I haven’t seen you around the art building before. Are you new?”
“No, I’m a second year, I’ve just never made my way into the art building before. I’m usually over in the dance studios,” Jun explains.
“Oh, the dance studios? Do you and Myungho dance together?”
“Yeah we do, but we go way back. He’s my best friend.”
“Oh, you’re Jun!” You turn around to look at Jun directly, your face lighting up. Jun flushes from how pretty your smile is. “Myungho talks about you all the time. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
You two walk for a bit more in silence before Jun starts another conversation. “So, are you an art major?”
“Yep! I love art, all kinds of it. Thankfully I’m pretty good at it as well,” you giggle. “Are you a dance major or is it just a hobby?”
“I’m a dance major. Being a dancer is the only thing I’ve wanted ever since I was little.”
“Wow, that’s so cool. I’ll have to come see you and Myungho dance sometime. I love dance, but that’s one art form I personally do not excel at. Oh, speaking of Myungho, here we are! He should be right in there.” You lift your hand to point into the studio but you accidentally brush Jun’s hand while you do, rubbing charcoal dust onto Jun’s skin. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!”
“Don’t worry about it, it’ll wash off,” Jun reassures you, more focused on the tingling sensation your touch left rather than the black marks it left. “Thank you for guiding me here though.”
“Of course! See you around Jun!” With that you head back off to where you came from and Jun heads into the studio you lead him too, his mind still flooded with thoughts of you.
Just like you said, Minghao is standing at a canvas, glaring at it. It’s blank except for two small blue marks that look like Minghao tried to wipe them off with his hand.
“Minghao,” Jun approaches the younger boy.”
“Jun,” Minghao says when he turns to face his friend. “What are you doing here?”
“I’ve been texting you all afternoon and you never responded so I decided to come find you.”
“What did you need?”
“That’s not important anymore, I need you to tell me who this person was.”
Jun describes you to Minghao who takes a moment to contemplate who Jun may be talking about. “Ah, you’re thinking of Y/N. Why? Did you meet them?”
Once Minghao says the name it clicks in Jun’s mind who you are. Like Minghao has talked about Jun to you, he’s talked about you to Jun. Minghao has mentioned a couple times of how you’re some art prodigy who practically lives in the art building. Minghao has been lucky to get close to you as it seems that as friendly as you are, you don’t have very many friends.
Minghao assumes it’s because almost everyone in the art department is obsessed with you, desperate to gain your attention. Jun can see why now. He figured it was just to trade art tips or to get close to someone who is the professors’ favorite, which might actually be a part of it, but it’s not unlikely there are ulterior motives as well.
“Yeah they showed me to this room. You never told me they’re gorgeous.”
Minghao rolls his eyes. “I didn’t know that was something I had to state. C’mon, don’t be like all the other jerks who inhabit this place.”
“I’m not trying to be! I’m just saying that they’re very attractive. And nice.”
“I know that. If you remember, they’re my friend, not yours. Now what did you actually need me for?”
“Hoshi is calling an emergency dance crew meeting.”
Minghao just sighs and moves to put away his art supplies.
Your existence in Jun’s mind has waived for the time being until he walks into dance practice one day and there you’re standing, talking to Hoshi and Minghao. Jun hesitantly approached the group, a bit nervous to be in your presence again. You don’t seem nervous to be around Jun though as you shoot him a giant smile.
“Jun! Hi. Soonyoung is allowing me to sit in on practice so I can work on drawing figures in action.” You point over to a folding chair in the corner where a sketchbook and a pencil bag sit. “Don’t worry, I won’t be in the way. It’ll be like I’m not even here.”
You move over to where you’re stationed and Hoshi starts to lead stretches. Jun can’t help but keep taking glances over at you. Despite being the one performing, you’re wildly more interesting in this moment.
Jun studies the way your eyes flit over his and the other’s forms, dissecting every move made. Concentration has settled into your face and Jun doesn’t think he’s ever seen someone be beautiful while being serious. There are moments where you chew at your lip, like you’re contemplating your next move, before you make a mark on your page. Your eyes stay on the bodies in front of you, more than the page you’re drawing on. It’s like your eyes are laser focused on the dancers, not wanting to miss a single move.
At some point Jun comes to the realization that you’re also performing your own kind of dance, choreographed between you and your paper. Your arm and wrist move fluidly, creating swift and smooth marks on the paper. Just as much detail goes into your drawing as it goes into Jun’s movements. It makes him think about how you called dancing a form of art. You are aware of all the time and effort that goes into a performance because you put the same amount of time and effort into your pieces.
Practice is over before Jun knows it and he realizes that he spent the whole time staring at you rather than actually doing what he was supposed to. He can’t do anything about it now other than hope for forgiveness from Hoshi.
After Jun is done packing up his things he walks over to you where you’re still adding finishing touches to your work. You look up when Jun stops next to you. He looks down at your page and is amazed to see all of the figures filled on your page. Your drawings are as fluid as the dance moves they were performing and Jun doesn’t think he’s ever seen a sketch that so perfectly communicates what was happening in real life.
“Wow Y/N, your work is incredible,” Jun tells you.
“Oh, thank you. They’re not my best though. I was so entranced by you guys dancing. You guys are amazing, I could barely look away,” you gush. “I love the way you move in particular. Your limbs are just so long they move so smoothly. I’d honestly love to do a study on you and draw you more. Sorry if that’s weird. Sometimes art takes over my brain before I can think before I speak.”
“No, that’s not weird at all. I’d be honored to be drawn by you. I’m not kidding when I said our work is incredible.”
“Would you actually let me draw you?” Your face lights up at the proposition.
“Yeah, of course.”
“Oh my god, that would be amazing! Here let me give you my number and we can coordinate times to meet up and discuss more.” You quickly scribble your phone number down on the corner of your sketchbook and rip it off to hand to Jun. Just like before your hands are covered in your art medium (graphite this time) with some of it even rubbing off on the paper you’re holding out to Jun.
Jun takes it and tries not to be too excited to receive the piece of paper. You quickly bid your goodbyes and Jun thinks about how quickly he can text you without it being weird.
You two decided to meet up later in the week back in the painting studio. You’re already there when Jun walks in. Your supplies are all laid out and it seems you’ve already applied an underpainting on your canvas.
You light up when you see your model walk into the room. “Jun! Yay, I’m glad you didn’t get lost getting here. I was thinking that you could just pose here for me. I just love your body, your limbs are beautiful. Just spread out, something dynamic, yeah?”
You’re nearly rambling as you talk but Jun just goes along with it. He moves to the center of the room where there’s a small platform. He steps onto it and looks back at you to make sure he’s doing it right. You help guide him into a pose that’s both visually pleasing and comfortable for Jun to hold.
“Not to be weird or anything, but you are really pretty. Just aesthetically attractive,” you say to him as you start to sketch out his figure.
“O-oh, thanks.” Jun’s face starts to heat up. He hopes you don’t notice. “I uhm, think you’re pretty too. You and your art.”
You laugh a bit. “The art probably more so, but thank you.”
You and Jun continue to make conversation while you lay your pigments down on the canvas in bold, confident strokes with your brush. Outside of being drop dead gorgeous, you’re also just a genuinely nice person to be around. The conversation flows well between you and Jun and it seems you guys even have the same sense of humor.
“Here, you probably need a break. Let’s order lunch, yeah? On me.” You set your paint brush down. You pick up your phone to look up nearby restaurants. “Hmm. Or, I know this place close by. We could go and get lunch and get out of the studio all together.”
“Yeah, that would be nice,” Jun says as he internally freaks out a bit. It’s obviously not a date, you’re just being nice, but still it makes him giddy and slightly flustered.
You gather your things and start out the door, Jun following behind you. As you walk Jun glances over at you and smiles a bit. There’s something endearing about how whenever you’re creating art you make a mess. It’s all a part of the process and Jun thinks that it would honestly be weird to see your hands not covered in some kind of medium. There are paint splotches all over your hands and arms and Jun can’t tell if you don’t notice them or just don’t care. Maybe it’s both.
The walk to the spot you were talking about isn’t long and you buy both you and Jun a sandwich.
“Thanks for doing this for me. I know you probably didn’t plan on spending the whole day with me.”
“It’s okay,” Jun reassures you, and he means it, “I like spending time with you.”
You smile at Jun. “I like spending time with you too.”
Ever since the first time you worked on your painting of Jun you guys have been spending more time together, whether it’s to work on art, or just enjoy each other’s presence. Your painting of Jun still isn’t finished but you don’t seem to be in any rush and Jun enjoys being your ‘muse’ as you call him.
You and Jun are hanging out together in the painting studio when Minghao walks in. He rolls his eyes at the sight of you two.
“You know Y/N was my friend first,” Minghao complains as he approaches you guys.
“It’s not my fault they enjoy my company more,” Jun shrugs.
“Hey, I enjoy you both!” You interject.
“But I’m your favorite, right?” Jun looks over at you.
“You would just love that, wouldn’t you Jun?” Minghao teases. Jun’s crush on you hasn’t gone away and Minghao knows that. He never misses a chance to make a dig at Jun for it.
“It’s not my fault you won’t model for me,” you say to Minghao, ignoring the comments both boys just made. “Jun here at least appreciates my art.”
“I appreciate your art and you know I do.” Minghao rolls his eyes.
“Sure, sure,” you sigh dramatically. “At least I still have Junhui.” You drape yourself over Jun with false despair. Minghao doesn’t seem to appreciate your dramatics but Jun lets out a chuckle. “See, he also appreciates my humor.”
Minghao ignores you. “I’m just here to grab the coat I left earlier. Make sure to go wash your hands when you’re done Y/N, there’s still ink all over the keys to the printmaking studio.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you mutter, not caring to listen to Minghao’s advice. Minghao just sighs and makes his exit. “He just can’t appreciate good art making techniques.”
“I like how you get messy when you make your art. It’s cute.”
“Aww thanks Jun. I just don’t have time to be neat about it and it makes it more fun! It's like I’m a part of the art piece as well. If you can’t get a little messy while making art then what’s the point?”
“You really are something amazing L/N Y/N,” Jun says.
“I think you’re talking about yourself there, Moon Junhui. Have you seen yourself dance? It’s beautiful.” Your voice softens a bit as you look at Jun in the eyes. “You’re beautiful.”
“Y/N?”
“Will you go out with me?” The words leave your mouth in a whisper. You’re still staring into Jun’s eyes, your face painted with worry.
“I- uh, yes!” God Jun wishes he was cool. “Wait- wait, you like me? You like me back? You just asked me out?”
“Has it not been obvious?” You laugh a little bit. “Of course I like you, why do you think I spend so much time with you? I compliment you all the time.”
“I thought you were just being nice!”
“I don’t like people! Hasn’t Myungho told you that?” Now that Jun thinks about it, Minghao has told him that. Huh. Maybe Jun is just oblivious.
“I’ve liked you since I first saw you,” Jun admits, “sitting in that drawing studio with charcoal all over your hands. Ever since then I’ve been telling myself that you’d never like me back and here we are.”
“The moment I saw you dance I was gone for. Why do you think I’ve made you my muse?” Jun cannot believe this. “I don’t just call you attractive for no reason. You are very pretty Jun.”
“Minghao is never going to believe this,” Jun whispers and you laugh.
“Y/N-ah!” Jun comes barreling into the drawing studio. You’re sitting at a stool in front of a canvas, just like so many months ago when Jun first met you. You’re working on a charcoal drawing once again, this time it’s a self portrait.
There’s a mirror set up next to you and a scowl plastered on your actual face. You turn when you hear your boyfriend approaching and suddenly a smile spreads across your mouth. “Junnie!” You stand up and run over to your boyfriend.
You grab his face and press a kiss to his lips.
“Baby,” Jun laughs. “Your hands.”
You pull away and look at your hands as if you’re just now noticing the charcoal dust all over your fingertips. Jun’s not actually upset though as this is nearly a daily occurrence. You decide to make the best of it and take your thumb and swipe it against Jun’s cheek twice.
Jun moves over to the mirror to look at himself and see the small charcoal heart you’ve smeared onto his cheek. Jun turns back to you and kisses you again.
“So I called you here for a reason,” you say as you move around the room, grabbing a canvas sitting in the corner. “Look what I’ve finished.”
You turn the canvas around to reveal the painting of Jun you started the first time you two spent time together. The painting perfectly captures Jun’s atmosphere when he’s dancing. The painting is fluid and colorful and Jun can barely believe it’s him in the piece.
“Oh wow Y/N this is…stunning,” Jun says.
“I’m pretty proud of it and I’m even more proud of what came out of it,” you say with a cheesy grin on your face.
“Oh you wanna kiss me so badly right now,” Jun teases. You don’t respond, just lean forward and press your lips to Jun’s cheek on the heart you made.
“Let’s go get lunch, yeah? We can talk about my next portrait of you.” You motion to grab Jun’s hand and Jun happily accepts, along with all of the charcoal stains that come with it.

F!Reader x Graham Calloway (Part 1)
Hero in skinny Jeans
Tumblr media
Graham walked down the stairs from the opera house on his way home. It had been a long day and an even longer night at the opera house. But definitely a fun time. Although Graham was starting to get tired of having to sit through hours and hours of classical music through rehearsals and shows.
At least the weather was nice. There was a breeze in the air and the moon was out. It'd make for a pretty good walk back to his apartment.
He's just at the bottom of the last flight of stairs when he hears someone running in his direction. He barely has enough time to look at who it could be when the collision happens.
He loses his footing falling on his back, and whoever had ran into him fell on his legs. Papers fly across his vision, likely being carried by the stranger.
"Oh god! I'm so sorry!" His assailant, a girl steps back kneeling in front of him. Graham gets an eyeful and crikey was she pretty.
"Wow…" He can't stop the surprised gasp. Her skin looked smooth and fragrant like a ripped peach, her hair loose flowing with the wind, and her eyes, like diamonds reflecting the moonlight.
He composes himself enough to stop ogling at her. The papers that had been spread across were threatening to fly off further into the wild. Graham starts picking them up. "Let me help!" He says.
The girl realises the mess she had caused and starts picking them up too.
"I'm sorry, I should have looked where I was going!" She sounds panicked.
"It's alright, are you-"
"Are you alright?" Another voice speaks over him. A guy, leaning over them; he looked dirty and sweaty. The girl seemed to panic more.
"Y-yes! I uh.. I found my cousin, Ruben!" She puts a hand on Graham's shoulder.
"Cousin?" The guy asks. "You don't look anything alike." He sounds mad.
The poor girl looked close to tears. "You know this guy?" Graham asks her. She shakes her head so he stands up.
The sleezy guy puts his hands up in defence. Graham was very much taller than him. "Oh, you're really her cousin?" He sounds scared. Good. He should be.
"Yeah, Ruben. Care to tell me why you're following my cuz around, creep?"
"Wow, hey, hey, I'm not doing anything wrong! I was just making sure she got home, alright!" The idiot tries to justify himself. "If anything, she's the creep, keeping tabs on me. She hasn't stopped looking at me all night…"
Graham clenches his fists and steps closer to the guy. "I would piss off if I were you." He says darkly.
"Yeah, alright, I'm going, I don't want any trouble."
The guy walks away, albeit slowly and constantly looking back at Graham and the girl. Only when the sleezebag is out of sight does Graham turn back and help pick up the rest of the paper sheets.
"Sorry about that." He says, handing over the sheets he had been able to get. Music sheets he notices.
The girl takes them and gives him a relieved smile. "I'm the one who's sorry for dragging you into this…" She sighs. "That guy started following me ever since I left my lessons two blocks away. I really wasn't looking when I ran into you." Graham chuckles.
"Thanks for helping me out." Her voice was pretty too, melodious and sweet, like honey.
They stand up and the girl puts most of the papers away in her bag.
"No problem, gorgeous. Guys like that deserve a lot worse than anything I did." He frowns in the direction the creep had gone in.
She gives him a heartfelt smile. "My hero." Graham feels his heart beat pick up.
"A-although, knowing his kind, I'm kinda worried he hasn't given up…" He looks around to make sure the guy really was gone. Out of sight, but really, there was no telling if he left or if he was waiting. "There's a police station close by. Would you like me to walk you there?" He suggests.
"Really? I wouldn't want to bother you any further…" He couldn’t let a pretty girl like her down.
"It's no problem, it's on the way to my place, actually." He holds his hand out. "Name's Graham, by the way. Can I learn yours?"
The girl smiles, holding the papers that didn't fit in her bag close to her chest with one hand. And shaking his with the other.
"Y/N." What a cute name. It suited her…
//
After you reach the police station, Graham waits by the door as you submit a complaint on the creep who had stalked you.
You had the feeling someone had been following you both until you got to the station, but whoever it was probably ran off when they saw you enter instead of passing by.
The police officer who takes your complaint is very nice. She explains that, unfortunately, there isn't much they can do without evidence, but they would take into account the man's description in any case. She also asks if you know of someone who could take you home so you'd stay safe.
Immediately, your mind thinks of Graham. For some reason, you feel safe around him. Maybe it's the way he jumped to defend you before he even knew your name; or maybe it's the way he volunteered to keep you company until he knew you were safe. But you couldn't possibly bother him anymore than you already had tonight.
You decide to call your roommate instead, she let's you know she'll be there in ten and hangs up.
Feeling much better about everything, you step outside. Graham was still there, despite you practically being strangers to each other.
"Graham!" You call out, he smiles at you.
"How did go?" He asks.
You tell him it went fine and that you called your friend to pick you up. He sighs.
"That’s a relief. Is your friend driving?"
You nod. "Thank you again for helping me out…"
He laughs. He had the sort of laughter that could get you smiling with him despite any circumstance. "Well, I got to walk halfway home with you so." He winks.
You feel a light heat in your cheeks. "W-well, I still feel bad for putting you through so much trouble. Is there any way I could make it up to you?"
He seems surprised but grins at the offer. "Oh? If you'd like?" He reaches in his back pocket, taking out a small notebook and pencil. He rips a page and scribbles on it. Then he gives it to you. It's an address. "I always grab a coffee at eight before work. If you feel up for it, you could make me company tomorrow?"
He was inviting you? For coffee?
"L-like a date?" You find yourself thinking outloud. It brings a blush to his cheeks. He smiles wide, giving you an eyeful of his cute dimples.
"If you'd like? It doesn't have to be anything…"
It's been a while since you met someone so nice.
Gosh, and he was attractive too. Not the sort of attractive you'd see in movies or in fashion magazines. It was the sort of hot from a guy in his twenties with a wolf cut and white teeth and a pair of the cutest dimples in his cheeks. And his eyes, soft brown, reminded you of butter caramel cake.
And he was inviting you for coffee.
Your cheeks heat up when you reply. "It's a date!"

CHAPTER 1: I H8 U
...
Ha. Ha. You roll your eyes, arms crossed before they unfold again. The elevator opens and you're back at the lobby of the building again. Ha. Ha.
You hate this place. Normal was so ordinary. So predictable. So boring. Blah!
Whatever, whatever, whatever. You just want to go home already. It's been a long day at work.
You walk, as the general population does, because even though you're special, and so different, you're human before any of that bull crap. Genetically, you're a programmed sheep. Mentally, you stick out like a sore thumb.
And you walk with the help of wired earbuds, ones that you grabbed at the nearest department store. You understand why people can't leave the house without these babies. They're so convenient, a socially accepted escape from the real world.
Selfishly, as it should be, you're listening to the same sickly sweet, syrupy-lyric filled song. Generic, yet so stupid catchy that even a zombie would dumbly mumble it in its sleep. With it's unintelligible voice, muddy and groggy as it lowly moans the melody. Like pure mush, frothing with spit.
Love. Love. Love. A boyband, the popular one you've loved since highschool, is singing about what sells— sex. Oh, baby. I want you. I love you. Give me all of you. Kiss me until I can't breath, wrap me with your heat.
You understand the gist of it, don't you? Because you certainly do.
Bouncy, your steps are, almost preppy that you feel like everyone else. You suppose that's fine for now. You're forcibly, undeniably put into a swarm of people. People that will always be like you. Vise versa. It's the way of life.
Same old.
Beep. Your lanyard scans across the kind of thing you'd see in a new-york subway. Too bad you're across the globe in Japan, in some remote town, so you don't live miles away from the famous–or was it infamous– you don't know, times square. Boring.
You suck in a hefty amount of hair, and it's humiliating when you push the door that so politely–and obviously— asks to be pulled. Wow. You turn back to confirm that no one has just seen you do that. But you're suddenly biting back another heap of cringe mixed with embarrassment when you realize that someone behind you blankly stares at you. Probably to hurry up so that they could get out too.
"Oops." You laugh, but they don't. "Sorry about–"
"Are you going to open that door?"
"Oh, uh, yes. I am."
Right. You pull the handle of the door that you've touched thousands of times.
The breeze hits you and as physics do, your hair whips across your face, sprawling over your dry, cracked lips. You push on, steps now long strides. You're fighting with the wind and it's terrible.
Welp. That was life. Mother nature wasn't, never was, kind to you.
Another idiotic event, another "let's make a fool out of Y/N" moment. You fold your arms underneath the crevice of your chest, that white button up so thin you're sure that you've developed hypothermia in the last few minutes you've been walking.
Another sigh. Then you realize it looks hopeless, and stupid. Then you wipe your cheek, holding your lips together and realize that looks equally awkward. Damn.
Incident after incident. Mistake after mistake. Everything feels like a math equation, and it's all adding up to make you look a fool.
At least nothing too terrible happened today.
Then, as if it was clockwork, an ominous feeling began to settle in the depths of your heart. As if your instincts were telling you to run.
You don't. Your hopes of a normal day, your suspicions of having a great day are so terribly...
Wrong. You look up and see the face that you don't want to see. The face that looks back at you like a mirror, the face who's lips turn up into a slight smile. The face who's glasses tip down his rather long, yet socially accepted nose. The face who's eyes are freakishly blue, who's eyes would receive the predictable comparison– "Hey, your eyes look just like the sky."
This can't be real.
This can't be happening.
Maybe today wasn't destined to be a good day, but there was no way in hell, no way that things could go this south.
A bad day was when you got in trouble during work, when someone's kid spilled your burning hot coffee all over your new white clothes. Bad was when...
Bad was when Gojo Satoru wasn't here.
Terrible was when he was.
"Hi." He holds his hand up, palm open, fingers spread into a wave. "It's been a while."
Your chest tightens, air contracting the thing like a damn accordion. He's definitely a fair distance from you, standing beneath the trees, far from the stairs leading up to the building behind you both. Traffic bustles a couple more feet away, and that same song, on repeat, buzzes in your ear like a mosquito.
Love. You seem to feel everything but that at the sight of his face.
"Gojo." The breeze slaps against your skin, stinging as it leaves it's harsh marks. Your fingers travel down to the hems of your skirt, and you fidget with the cloth.
You're anxious, not as you envisioned the hundreds of other times you mulled over this sort of situation. Instead of holding your head up high, you're cowering, heart wrenching, the lines you so carefully wrote, seared into your mind escaping your tongue.
"Gojo?" Ha. Ha. Real funny, you think as he mocks you.
It makes you angry. Why did he, how did he have, how was he not– where was his shame? After five years? Did he just realize you were gone after all this time?
You don't want to ask, but you do.
"Why are you–"
"What happened to Satoru? Don't be so formal. It's only been five years."
"The name disgusts me."
You're silent as he steps forward, a bouquet of flowers tucked underneath his armpit. He's decked out in all black, not that you care, or that it's any different from how he was a few years back. If anything, he's the exact same. Unchanged.
It makes your blood boil.
"Ah. Look at you. You've changed."
He chides, crouching down as if he's trying to taunt a child. You bite back the strange croak in your throat.
"Your turn. What about me? Say something."
No. Please. "Don't do this to me."
His lips, as if pulled by a set of strings, ghost a smile. Those eyes exposed, bare through those glasses as they reflect the pathetic image of you. Your expression which tries to hard to look expressionless. The scrunch of your eyebrows as you look down at him.
No, he's looking down on you. Even though it should be the opposite.
"You look the same." It's robotic, the usual cadence of your voice he so remembers void of emotion.
It's true. He does.
"Oh? You're cold. So cold." He tilts his head, a strand of hair falling in between his eyes as he gives you a slight pout.
And, you? You're not the same as you were before.
"I know." You step back. "People tell me that all the time."
You feel so... so...
Was pathetic the right word? It didn't even do the situation justice.
Wow. Honestly, you never wanted to admit this, but you've always imagined this sort of thing happening. A reunion, to put it simply and you'd always imagine such witty responses, such great comebacks.
However, you're no different from everyone else. Not underneath the umbrella of fear. However, you're not even shielded from those raindrops of confrontation.
You're soaked. The umbrella's defective. You can't bring yourself to say the words you practiced, to put an end to the tortuous fire in your heart.
Because as much as you want to hear those answers, you're afraid of the void that lies beneath them.
"Is that something to brag about these days?" He straightens up, the plastic lining of the bouquet crinkling.
You shrug as answer, but your eyes stick onto the floor like a piece of gum. They've rolled out of their sockets, breeze guiding them along the concrete.
Satoru whistles for a moment, eyes careful as they study your figure.
A white button up shirt, tucked into a pencil skirt, glasses that usually wouldn't suit you because you were the contact lens type, flats because he could never imagine you walking down a flight of stairs in heels.
Though you've fallen to the inevitable concept of change, you're still...
Oh. He's forgot to mention that you've been listening to music this whole time. It's noticeable now. Partly because you're wearing wired headphones, and partly because he can hear the faintest bit of singing coming from your direction.
"Whatcha listening to?"
You peek up, and for the first time in years, he's properly– no, you're making eye contact with him.
"It's the new XXX song. Do you remember when I..."
What the hell?
He never tried to stop you back then.
Why would he remember a single thing about you?
"Nevermind." You look away, and he swears he sees the faintest film of water pooling against your eyes. "You wouldn't know."
Yeah. You're the same as ever.
"Oh. You still like that group?"
You nod, and he swears he can see the faint image of you from highschool. Nodding along to the sound of your mp3 player, busted around the corners as it rests on the edge of your desk, threatening to fall. And when it did, he'd usually catch it before pulling out your earbuds.
Then you'd grumble at him, call him a "bastard" or a "piece of shit". And he'd laugh, loud enough that people would turn their heads.
Weird. A wave of nostalgia hits him.
"Ha." The thought of it makes him snicker. God. He was such an asshole. "Haha."
Look at how the tables turned. It's painful that you're so rough around the edges now. You're barely smiling, and now there's an offended look trespassing your lips and eyes.
You're angry again. So angry that the image of your smile is trampled on, dirtied by a frown.
It's like throwing away a perfectly good slice of cake.
Satoru decides he hates it. The look of it is sickening, the thought of it is unappetizing, the existence of it is...
"What are you–"
"Come back to Jujutsu High and help me teach."
As he expects, and the revelation behind it frustrates him, you've gone completely unresponsive. What he's realized is that you're just existing through your life.
You've been wasting time. And now you're just going to ignore him. No matter how right he is.
"Y/N. Can you hear me?"
You don't answer for a long while, slowly ripping out each earbud as you stuff it into the pocket of your shirt. The question, the request is... it's...
Disgustingly selfish. Did he only think for himself? Did he only care for himself?
Of course he did. Of course he did.
He's Gojo Satoru.
"Why did you come here? Go home."
"For you. Come back and be a Jujutsu sorcerer again–" He doesn't waste a singular second, as if he was reading off a script to some terrible horror movie.
You feel sick.
"No." You spit out. "You don't know what I want, you can't tell me what to do either."
You want to laugh, you can't believe all this bullshit.
You can't believe that after all the trouble you went through to fit in, you're going back to square one. Like a baby trying to learn how to walk all over again.
All the trouble you went through to convince yourself that you were still special despite being so, despite living so normally now.
All the trouble you went through to ignore those cursed spirits.
All those sacrifices you made, those risks you took.
You can't believe that it's all going down the drain like this, like your struggles are the water to someone else's shower.
Could you be easily discarded like that? Like trash?
Wrong. Incorrect. Wrong. Nothing could be more... wrong.
No, you're different. Important. Nothing like trash. Incomparable. If there was a mold, you'd break it. If there was an expectation, you'd exceed it. If there was...
If there was...
There's nothing because he... he's...
Gojo Satoru is stepping on your sob story like it's a piece of gum, smearing it with the sole of his shoe.
He tries to intervene with your peace, picking apart at your facade, your play-pretend act of tranquility.
"I know what you want–"
You don't even give him the chance to finish.
"It's been five years."
He knows. You don't have to remind him that it's been that long.
"So?"
"You don't know a thing about me, Gojo."
"I do." He steps forward. "And what do those people back there know about you?" Then he points back at your workplace.
You grimace, aware that what you're about to say is an obvious, a bitter lie. He knows it too, but you say it anyway.
"They know a lot about me." You bite back, desperately trying to save face. "So much more than you do."
When you force that out, it dawns on you. The fact that you have to lie about something so insignificant to prove that you're doing just fine to some asshole you haven't seen in five years.
"Like what? Your favorite member in that stupid boyband?"
"They're not stupid! Okay? They're– They're...!" You stumble over your words, voice coming out louder than you anticipate.
Damn it. Now everyone around you is staring like a bunch of sheep, the same kind back at work, relishing in an argument– no, a conversation – that they had no rightful part in.
"They don't know anything about you, do they?" He whispers, a pitiful expression on his face when he sees how worked up you've gotten. "Be honest with me then. What do you want?"
"Honest? You want me to be honest?"
"Well, yes. I'd like that."
"Fine then. I want to fight you right now because I hate you."
"Sure."
"You make me sick."
"Okay."
"I want to–"
"I already said okay."
