i got to watch the inazuma eleven movie!! it was so good i'm once again insanely excited for what's to come ^_^ (victory road, of which i'll talk about under the cut to avoid spoilers)

the first half was, as expected, just a recap with major focus on the first and last episode of season 1. the new t-pistonz song slaps and the nostalgic soundtracks are always good to hear. makes me think something among the lines of "ah yeah, that's right, i love inazuma eleven." fine but not too good when you think of it as a recap, i would've switched some scenes for others personally. voice acting good as always

AS FOR VICTORY ROAD repetition of the scenes of the beta until the last part, where it's all new I GOT SO EXCITED. despite being singular cutscenes put together, it went smoother than i expected. the main (spoiler) points i would like to highlight are:

unless it was shown in the beta and i just forgot about it, we get to see the student council other than shisendou animated. unmei and sakurazaki are on everyone's mouth for challenging the baseball club

sakurazaki sends unmei the video of the hokuyou vs raimon match, to show him "today's soccer" and oh my god i wasn't ready for this. like at all. unmei sits on the same bench - i assume - he sat on with sakurazaki the night he went to the hospital and starts watching the match and then something crazy happens

SORAMIYA APPEARS ON SCREEN AND UNMEI GOES "soramiya-kun!" and then "so this is soramiya now..." they know each other my god. i wasn't ready at all for this. they're showing new connections i can't wait to see them eventually reunite....

the match ends 6-0 in favor of raimon because haru is just That strong but of course he pulls up with the "soccer is boring" line. they're putting haru in a rather different position than his dad. haru said he doesn't have the desire to confront strong rivals (?) (i'm not exactly sure of this point, if anyone notices i'm wrong please lmk!) as mamoru did, all he wants is having friends

the animation is as good as what we've already seen from mappa, especially the match itself is very smooth and enjoyable to watch. the credits arts were my favorite (UNMEI AND RAIKA TOGETHER... also unmei and soramiya as kids together. i can't wait to know more about them) i assume we'll be able to see them in the final game. in the end the second part is more of an introduction of what victory road will be but ohhh it was so nice

also got some merch! plus the cards they give you for purchasing the tickets. there was barely anything left lol, and of fucking course the can badges were blind box style. i really wish i got raika, but kameo's fine too. had fun... i can't believe inazuma eleven is real...

The whole fucking Yuri!!! On Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence cancellation is even more depressing now...

So now I'm hearing rumors that this movie was apparently already finished but MAPPA cancelled it anyways because it won't be "profitable" enough. Might even shelve the film for a tax write off. Basically Yuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence might have gotten the fucking Wile E Coyote vs Acme treatment. Same thing about the Wile E Coyote situation - I feel so fucking bad for the VAs (including Junichi Suwabe aka Lars and Grimmjow's Japanese VA), the animators, and the staff who worked on this movie for literally over 5 FUCKING YEARS just to be cancelled. All for nothing, entire animated and voiced sections that'll never see the light of day. Meanwhile, MAPPA is probably just going to keep milking Jujutsu Kaisen/Chainsaw Man like how Warner Brothers Discovery is still milking all their pathetic garbage reality TV shows. It's a shame because I also really liked a few of MAPPA's anime like Banana Fish and Dororo.

This whole situation also reminds me of the Mega Man situation back in the early 2010's. Where Capcom just kept cancelling Mega Man projects left right and center (ex. Mega Man Legends 3) - while milking the ever living shit out of Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Thankfully in the late 2010's Mega Man 11 came out and Capcom made multiple legacy collections of the older games for people to play (ex. Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection which I still enjoy playing on my Switch to this day). I'll try to be a little positive by saying - who knows, maybe someday 5-10 years later in the future Yuri On Ice will get some more content and love. Again, I feel so bad for the staff and fandom of Yuri On Ice. F's in the chat for the Yuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence.

Other stuff I watched this year: I don't watch stuff much nowadays. I'm all anxiety all the time. I watched Hell's Paradise but actually just half of it before Mappa exhausted me, then I read the rest and it was fun. I watched some other stuff. I recall fondly Romantic Killer, it's super silly and relaxing.

Shows I dropped this year/didn't finish: CSM, though maybe I dropped it last year already? I don't remember. It's a one gag story and I got bored. Demonslayer never was very exciting but the last season was peak of what I dislike about stories where none of the other characters apart from the main are relevant and the story happens where the main happens to be... it also introduced the precious Sailor Katsudon and I imagined a whole anime where she was the main character looking for a husband who'd be stronger than her while constantly becoming stronger herself by fighting demons. those other hashira do something cool and she gets a dokidoki moment and then it turns out she can easily body them because she powered up. so oh no they don't qualify as a husband... this tangent got away from me. so anyway, can someone make this anime for me, please?

Does it mean you did not follow JJK that have one of the most tragic/romantic relationship between Gojo and Geto? That did not have any heterosexual explanation between their bond.

Ah! I do watch it, but I don't read the manga and I watch in Dub due to my disabilities so I'm not EXACTLY up-to-date the same as others are.

I will agree, that Gojo/Geto are an excellent couple and I have been enjoying the angst between them this series!

However, I'm just not THAT big a fan of JJK because:

1) The animation is very much on the side of "work smarter not harder" with a lot of repetition of fight choreography. This wouldn't be a problem so much if it wasn't that it was an ACTION series! I want cool ass fight scenes not something that's just the same thing each and every week. This is because Mappa have some of the WORST working conditions in the industry (which is saying something!) so I do not blame the team at all, but it does impact my enjoyment of the series.

2) It was advertised to me as something new and revolutionary! It had never been done before! It was THE BEST SERIES TO EVER EXIST EVER!!!! And you know what I saw? A combination of every Shonen Trope that has ever come before. An orphan boy eats a body part of a famous person and gains their magic powers but is also now possessed by them, and so he attends special magic ninja school with a sassy brunette girl and an emo boy from a powerful family. His mentor is a white haired man with his eyes covered who the whole fandom thinks is mega hot. Like, this has been done before. So many times. If it had been sold to me as it was, I might enjoy it more! But no. It's not at all revolutionary. They also tried to sell the movie as a love story? And I am sorry if your main couple do not have enough scenes together to fill out a Taylor Swift AMV then you have FAILED at telling a love story!

You're right Anon, Geto and Gojo are by faaaaaaar a better example of a tragic love story than Yuta and Rika!

3) Sorry I have read 90s Superhero Comics you cannot shock or surprise me with the death of a female character. My fridge is full thanks. I don't need anymore girls in there, k thanks.

Like I said, I do watch it, and I can see why it's so popular! I'm just not reading the manga so I am not Up To Date, and the treatment of female characters is so much better in Blue Exorcist and Akane Banashi that NATURALLY those are where I'm gonna be drawn to on the ol' Shonen Jump App!

But hey, if you have Action Shonen series that never fridge their female characters and give them solid independent arcs and character development then please! Let me know!

Can I take a moment to appreciate Suguru? Lately, there’s been racist takes about him with people complaining/saying he’s ugly due to him being drawn with more prominent Asian facial features, but I just find him really beautiful. While Satoru represents something more heavenly and unobtainable, Suguru, with his beautiful dark eyes and hair, represents earthly pleasures and someone more vulnerably human. Ik he was drawn more skrunkly as the movie’s and manga’s antagonist to portray him as such, but I genuinely can’t wait to see him in season 2 where he’s drawn to be portrayed genuinely to who he is.

studio gainax could adapt this random 7.5/10 high school romance manga in 1998 purely bc one of the guys there wss clearly a fan and itd have visionary storyboarding, expressive character designs, out of the box animation, endearing and unique voice acting, punchy joke delivery…

meanwhile every anime made in the 2010s 2020s of any genre is some samey looking moe blob infested garbage with the same camera angles, the same characters designs, voice acting, background music, artstyle, animation style, op/ed artists, op/ed styles even…..

fuck this is hard for me without any order, it would probably have to be WTC Series - Ryukishi07: kinda obvious considering my blog. It covers all my favorite genres and it has relatable characters (i already know what you're gonna say.) (still need to start ciconia but i keep not finishing other things so i need to finish those first) Madoka Magica - Gen Urobuchi: lesbians, time loops and tragedy. honestly what more can you ask for. homura best girl (love them all tho) Neon Genesis Evangelion - Hideaki Anno: with my current list so far and including this i couldn't even lie about being mentally stable (not that anyone would believe a yasu is). eva is a series i hold really close to my heart. its focus on more introspective things rather than on the actual robot fights themselves led to me realizing and accepting some things about myself and for that i will always love it. K-On - Kakifly: not all my favorites are dark and emotionally driven, sometimes i just need a simple comedy to enjoy and laugh at. what can i even say about k-on other than haha funny light music club go brrrrrr. Spider-Man - Marvel: i have my fair share of issues with everything modern when it comes to superhero shit but everything pre 2006 of spider-man i still adore. compared to all the heroes on the level of gods and idols theres something special about an ordinary guy who got his powers by chance and still has to deal with the same struggles regular people face. Girls Last Tour - tkmiz: pretty simple series of a pair of girls and their lives at the end of the world. made me laugh. made me cry. truly wonderful series. (tkmiz's shimeji simulation will probably join this list but i wanna see where it goes further first. still deserves a mention tho.) Shin Godzilla - Hideaki Anno: i love this kaiju to death so ofc i had to put the greatest godzilla movie on this list. with a return to godzilla as a destructive force of nature as opposed to a semi hero type figure the american films have been trying and a new take with a constantly evolving monster, shin godzilla mixes new and old for a spectacle that can be taken both at face value and a little deeper. Devilman Crybaby - Masaaki Yuasa: (never read the devilman manga so idk if im missing out on anything) truly a beautiful series that says a lot about human nature and discrimination of people for being "different." would recommend to anyone Serial Experiments Lain - Yasuyuki Ueda: why yes i do have a thing for weird thought provoking shows. they're just so good. lain probably is the weirdest one i have on here but that adds to the intriguing nature of it. its hard for me to really talk about it without going too much into weird spoilery shit but funky internet girl. 🎃🍁FALL 2020 WATCHLIST🍁🎃

October is finally here, and thanks to the universe we have a great amount of new animes and new seasons. Again, I found myself with a long list this season, and I don’t think any of these would be bad enough for me to drop it, actually my expectations are very high ^^ so, what I’ll be watching?

1. Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術開戦) the one I’ve been waiting the most, I have this manga physical and it’s amazing TT I can’t wait to see it animated. Studio MAPPA it’s in charge for this, and a number of episodes haven’t been decided. Genres: Action, Horror, Shounen.

2. Higurashi: When they Cry (ひぐらしのなく頃に) the first version of this anime was really fucked up, a great horror, I’m really excited about this new version. Studio Passione is in charge of this, I hope they do a great work because I’ve only seen comedy animes from them. No amount of episodes have been set yet. Genres: Mystery, Dementia, Horror, Psychological, Thriller.

3. Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You (トニカクカワイイ) I wanted a good romance anime so bad and I think this is definitely going to be one. About a boy looking for the girl that saves him and whom he feel in love with. Brought by studio Seven Arcs (Arte ^^), seems like it’s going to be a really sweet story. Genres: Romance, Comedy, Shounen.

4. The Day I Became a God (神様になった日) a boy preparing for college who met a girl that randomly proclaimed herself the god of omniscience, and telling him the world would end in 30 days, well somehow she ended up living with him. Well P.A Works (Another, Angel Beats) it’s in charge of this one and I think it’s going to be really good, so I’m looking forward to it. Genres: Drama, Fantasy.

5. Haikyuu!!: To the Top 2nd Season (ハイキュー‼︎) I haven’t seen the previous season yet but I’m definitely going to do it before this one end. I bet everyone it’s really hyped for this one, so am I. Production I.G still working on the series, and definitely doing an amazing job. Genres: Comedy, Sports, Drama, School, Shounen.

6. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (半妖の夜叉姫) I can’t explain my love for Inuyasha ever since I can’t remember. When I saw that this was coming for fall I was beyond excitement, I even rewatch Inuyasha. Studio Sunrise will work on the series just like Inuyasha. Genres: Action, Adventures, Comedy, Historical, Supernatural, Fantasy.

7. Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (君と僕の最後の戦場、あるいは世界が始まる聖戦) according to myanimelist synopsis this one seems to be a kind of Romeo and Juliet type of story with magic and war involved, and I’m actually excited about it, so I will give it a chance. Studio Silver Link is in charge and they gave titles like Kenja no Mago, and Maou Gakuin from last season so I believe it’s going to be good in their really unique way. Genres: Action, Romance, Fantasy.

8. I’m standing on 1,000,000 lives (百万の命の上に俺は立っている) this one is an isekai, 3 school mates get transporter to a world full of mythical creatures and some game master put them in a quest giving them roles, op getting nothing but a farmer roll. Hopefully this one won’t be the usual isekai where op it’s way to talented I’m every, and we get to see a proper character development. Maho Film it’s in charge pm they don’t have much works but if you saw Uchi no Ko no Tame Naraba you must remember our precious Latina and what a great story it was, so let’s expect a decent story. Genres: Action, Game, Drama, Fantasy, Shounen.

9. The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc (魔法科高校の劣等生:来訪者編) well I’m happy to see this one is having another arc animated, it’s been a while since first season so I’m going to properly rewatch it before I start this. It’s a different studio this time instead of Madhouse is 8bit, I’m not quite related with their work but they are the ones who brought my favorite original anime Hoshiai no Sora. Genres: Action, Sci-fi, Magic, Romance, School.

10. The Journey of Elaina (魔女の度々) the story will follow a witch named Elaina and her journey around the world meeting different people. I think it would be a nice funny, soft and cute story, like a really nice slice of life but with magic involved. Studio C2C it’s doing the job, I’ve never seen any of them before but I know they do a lot of slice of life. Genres: Adventure, Fantasy.

11. Noblesse (ノブレス) another manwha getting and anime. A lot of people are a bit hard on this, since many found Tower of God (for me it wasn’t) and The God of High School (this one yes but for me was amazing anyway) to rushed, many fear it’s going to be the same with Noblesse specially since people who read the source say they included some people in the poster meaning they have to rushed a lot a material to get where they appear. Hopefully it would be amazing as the others mentioned. Genres: Action, School, Supernatural.

12. Adachi and Shimamura (安達としまむら) it’s a shoujo ai story, hoped this would be really well done, a story about friendship and love that would be heart touching, I feel like this genre it’s not easy to be well achieved but Tezuka Production is behind it and they have done an amazing job with some classic animes and movies, and they also worked on Dororo, so I expected a nice story. Genres: School, Romance, Shoujo Ai, Slice of Life.

LMFAO I think thats the only downside of talking with strangers about theories and such I think?? sometimes they don't understand or aren't open minded about other povs (and the latter is fine, you don't have to accept something that you dislike but pls don't be mean about it you're gonna hurt my feelings)

I hold haikyuu people to grown up standards but they're literally in 1st year of hs tf TT lets be best friends! I'll be the Yamaguchi to your Tsukishima <3 but fr, I don't know if you've reached this point but the episode where Tsukki's backstory was revealed...I feel nothing but pain. I can also relate to him as well tbh; I like how Haikyuu characters are, as far as I know, very humanly fleshed out!

Ohhhh I love cotton candy! It's been a while since I've eaten it tho :,) ill add it to my watch list! lately ive kinda been fixing my life/schedule so I hope I can start reading csm and jjk and watch more anime!

I think one of my friends told me that mappa kinda exploited their workers but I wouldn't be 100% sure; I didn't fact check. I also don't know if im using the ; correctly bc I don't English very well as of lately lmfao.

I don't know where I stand with cosplays, I like the ones that aren't a carbon copy of the characters but outfits inspired by them and such. I think those are very neat!
