I have several old Transformers drawings in my folders, this one is from the beginning of the year, when I watched the War For Cybertron trilogy again, it should be noted that I like that series quite a bit. Red Alert is a cutie patootie in this series so I had drawn him based on his G1 design and the WFC one.

I am very fond of Pharma and decided to reverse the usual headcanon of Ratchet having mentored him into Pharma being Ratchet's mentor in this and having had a background a bit like the Netflix Trilogy Red Alert running a Neutral Medical Facility called Delphi after leaving due to Sentinel's behavior.

Minerva, an old friend and Elita's CMO, came to recruit him as the war intensified and people were dying more and more and neutrality became less of an option on Cybertron. Ratchet also had very loud opinions about joining that he shared with Pharma and Ambulon before they all went with very clear boundaries that Pharma would leave and that anyone who associated with Sentinel was on thin fucking ice.

Ambulon was a former Decepticon, Pharma took in early into his defecting and trained and he in turn helped train Ratchet as well and their other trainees. Ambulon’s authority isn't questioned because anyone who says anything to him has to deal with an absolutely furious jet while Ambulon tries to remind him they can't actually maim patients.

Okay I love how the Netflix trilogy is mentioned here because I am the number one WFC apologist, and WFC Red Alert has a fun backstory

Neat that Pharma's basically the main medic here, very exactly protective of his mentees and Ambi, I don't think we see positive depictions of Pharma enough in fanon. The fact that Sentinel was his tipping point makes sense, considering everything I have ever known about most depictions of Sentinel.

This will probably attract a lot of negative attention, especially considering recent stuff with the Robot Husband Poll, but this has legit been bothering me. I don’t get why people say that the only reason folks hate Prowl is bc of IDW. Honestly, in my opinion IDW Prowl is the only valid version of him out of the ones based on G1. (so G1, IDW, Dreamwave, RID15/WFC, Bayverse, Cyberverse, and I’ll even count RID01 and Energon. Beast Wars and TFA are fine, they’re sufficiently their own thing) Every other version of him is like... blatant “let’s make a cop car character who is a good guy, so kids will think cops are good and friendly” propaganda. IDW Prowl is a blatant asshole who is *very* “the ends justify the means” and that’s his appeal for me. It’s the same reason I like Barricade, bc they’re both “cop” characters who aren’t copaganda.  For the record, I have the same issues with Chase and Whirl from Rescue Bots, Strongarm from RID15, and Groove and Streetwise from G1. I do *not* have this issue with Red Alert bc he’s an emergency rescue vehicle (or a fire chief car, depending on the series), not a cop vehicle, or Nightbeat who is a PI that turns into a race car.

Day 43: Red Alert (Transformers: Generation 1)

Today’s drawing is Red Alert, a bot who’s been on my mind a lot lately. I feel really bad for this guy. In the cartoon, his only big g1 episode makes him a paranoid wreck, the war for Cybertron Netflix show just does him super dirty, and IdW 1. He really gets down in the dumps there, but I am happy to see him make some good friends with Fort Max and Cerebros in the Titans return special. And prowl is there too, I guess…

As for today’s drawing, I drew the WFC Red having the electrical attack from the G1 Episode. Probably not the most flattering pose for the guy, but I think it kind of parallels how I feel at the end of a long day in retail work. So thanks Red Alert for expressing how I can’t!
