Hiiii, Mel! It’s been a while since I’ve found myself in the inbox of my mutuals with a thoughtful question about our boys. However, we’re preparing for the hurricane down this way and I’m looking for something to keep me occupied — like talking to all of my beautiful lovely friends!!

So what I want to discuss today is the love language of our boys. What love language(s) do you think they each excel at and which one(s) do they struggle with the most? Do you think their love language(s) have changed since the beginning? Do you think they still excel or struggle with a certain one(s)?

I would also like to pick your brain on your thoughts of how they protect one another — how they protect one another physically, how they protect one another’s peace, how they protect each other mentally, etc! 🩵

and boy do i love a love language 😇 i think mickey's is definitely acts of service - he got all the b's! he up and created a company so ian could get back to work and not risk an episode. and i think he appreciates that in return, too! he wanted ian to come with him to mexico, he wanted ian to step up and marry him - and importantly, he wanted ian to stay by his side (even if secretly and quietly) after he got married in s3. my man loves a gesture. some of that crosses into quality time territory, which leads me to...

ian is a quality time girlie for SURE. he wants to be where mickey is! he just wants them to have a good life together. i think he also leans into words of affirmation. validation is important to him, for good or ill 🥺 and you know they both appreciate a good physical touch 😏

how do they protect each other... hmm! well they definitely puff up like peacocks to show off their husband... and they'd pee a circle around the other one if it means keeping them safe! but i think they also are just really in tune with each other's needs. mickey knows when ian is getting agitated and needs a distraction or comfort, and ian can tell when the gallaghers are too fucking loud and mickey needs to go home and rest his poor lil aching head. they just anticipate each other's needs and always seek to care for their husband!! always!! i am emotional about spouses today!!!!!!! ty chey!!!! ily!

Here is a brainworm that's been making laps around the inside of my cranium: being a descendant of surveyshipping (Cyllene x Laventon), which would make you a cousin/sibling of Cyrus, and possibly Leon and Hop, or maybe even Iris (I personally like the idea of being Cyrus's sister). And also being married to either one, or both, of the Submas Twins. And getting Hisui'd to help your Spouse/Bro in Law, Ingo, and getting to meet your great-great grandparents. Bonus points if somehow, through Pokemon shennanigans, there's irrefutable evidence shown to Cyllene and Laventon that you are their descendant and they start treating you as family.

Going back in time and meeting family. Family that immediately loves you despite not knowing who you are. Laventon immediately coddling you and being so so so affectionate while Cyllene is noticeably more relaxed around you and praises you quite a bit, in her own way

Upon finding out Ingo is your husband, Laventon blusters through a shovel talk that’s more amusing than intimidating. Cyllene just shows Ingo her sword. It says enough
