Fair Game Week 2025 Day 1 - Lucky | Lost/Found

A knock on the door startles him from thoughts. “How’s it going in there?”

Clover takes one last look at his reflection, smooths down fabric. Brushes back hair with fingers. Takes a breath, turns to walk toward the door. He opens it, offering a tentative smile. “How do I look,” he asks. A little too eager. A little too excited.

Red eyes blink, a hand remains caught in the air from knocking. It forms a fist that Qrow coughs into as he glances away briefly. Gaze returning to look over Clover’s form. And gods, but he cannot tell if it is good or bad luck that he guessed so well on sizing.

“Brothers,” he breathes, and he refuses to acknowledge the colour that brushes skin as he realises he’s said the word aloud. He clears his throat. “Uh, you look good.”

Clover beams, relieved to find his assessment accurate. To know he can accompany Qrow the next time he goes out on the town. It is worth the awkwardness of walking on feet if it means he can learn more about those who dwell on land, before returning to the sea.

“But,” Qrow says, drawing his attention, “how do you feel?”

I just entered your blog and seen the ever after au question and the one that caught my eye the most is the vine and clover being a non related by blood doomed sibling trope. Ngl I fw that.also I imagine in that same anons au that clover was arrested by falsely being accused of working for salem when he’s not.

That's a neat idea, anon! I didn't really think about anything farther than potential goings on in the Ever After prompt from the previous anon, but I am glad you're enjoying the concept!! :D
