🍓He grew up as an only child and as far as he knows has no family left in NC, the NUSA, or any neighboring states/countries in North America. But he had cousins roughly his age on his father's side of the family in Japan - but no contact to them anymore for over a decade now. He's sure they would neither recognize him nor want anything to do with him, and he has no desire to reconnect, either, if they're all still around (probably working corporate jobs for Arasaka, like almost everyone in his family).

🍓 His first tattoo that he got at 16 was a stick and poke done by a boy he had a big crush on at the time. It's the Ursa Major constellation on his right arm. It's small, it's wonky, it's in a weird position, but he doesn't have the heart to get it covered up.

What would your character wear if they were told they had to gussy up?

will do jórunn for this one as i had a lot of fun imagining her thalmor embassy outfit. my main inspiration was this dress made by historical fashion youtuber bernadette banner. she recreated this (i think?) 15th century dress on the right, using historical methods, and i thought the result was gorgeous.

for jórunn's dress i imagined the colour to be different, like an aubergine purple in place of the red. and for her hair i was picturing something like this. :)

What gift would your character give to someone they didn’t like but felt obligated to?

this goes for all my Dutheri characters, as the family would be expected to present gifts to visiting nobles and dignitaries. for velothi recipients, i can see the Dutheris bestowing either a worthless title or a 'tamed' kagouti upon recipients they didn't like. the kagouti would be expensive, difficult, and potentially dangerous to try and maintain, but to turn it down or renounce it would show weakness.

for non-velothi recipients, i think they would gift them with either a relatively cheap or commonplace commodity (assuming that the foreigner wouldn't know any better), or a velothi 'delicacy' that foreigners tend to find unpalatable :)

Would your character prefer baking, cooking or mixing drinks?

raydrin is my only character who would really engage with any of these activities, and it's cooking that he loves the most! he is experimental and creative, so cooking suits him more than something like baking, which is less easy to play around with.

Has your character had a meaningful encounter with an animal?

mathyas has a fear of spiders after one crawls on him during his first episode of sleep paralysis as a child, and this phobia stays with him into adulthood. the incident contains a lot of narrative significance and symbolism (to me, at least)

What is your character’s favorite kind of social event?

cassathra always hated the parties that her family would be expected to throw and attend as redoran nobles, but she comes to love parties after running away to skyrim. she loves dancing, drink, games, meeting new people etc -- so to enjoy these things outside the confines of familial expectation is a great joy for her

Are there particular sounds your character is fond of?

soppy, but jórunn really comes to love the sound of raydrin's voice, in particular when he is reading to her. his voice is soft, low, slightly raspy, and his narration is steady and level. on the road during the events of skyrim, their little reading sessions are some of the few times jórunn can truly relax <3

Does your character have a secret hobby?

raydrin is a secret poet/writer! he is terrible at committing to anything but always dabbled here and there. he starts taking it more seriously after solstheim :)

🍓 - Violet Cottonwood is one of my Pokemon oc's (she's a botanist that specializes in how natural flora interacts with Pokemon, specifically grass types). a fun fact about her...well it's not so fun but she has migraines due to exposure to ultra space

🍓 - Maura (Song, King/Cain, etc) is my multiverse oc, she was originally my MC for playing The Arcana, which I don't play anymore but I missed her so I have plans to integrate her into a lot of worldstates. she's very bad at standing up for herself but will do anything to protect her family and friends

🍓 - Lillian Caron is my Orlesian Warden-Commander, who did everything in her power to help the poor people of Amaranthine (while sticking it to the nobles when possible). she often gives out scraps of food to stray animals (to the point where Vigil's Keep has a petting zoo lmao) but don't accuse her of being soft or she'll gut you

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what

yeah! if i sit down to draw deliberately i’ll usually either have a show on or play the audiobook of whatever i’m reading. but sometimes i’ll just get a whim and grab my tablet and end up drawing for hours in silence, and then i feel silly for it when i do come up for air

16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing

this one’s a little hard, because mostly i do just draw what i find fun ! maybe animals?? i’m not bad at them but i have to stick so closely to references for them that it doesn’t feel very expressive or imaginative. but i’d say that means im NOT good enough at them yet

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

ooh, there’s a lot of those since i don’t do detailed lineart or rendering myself, so i admire artists who are skilled at that.

she likes to wear the jacket of her dress uniform with all its shiny medals and ribbons like a cape, just to flex, but her favorite thing is a necklace her husband gave her when they were younger, long before shanxi. it's a simple thing, just a simple chain with a colorful agate pendant hanging from it, but it was the first piece of jewelry he ever got her, and he bought it outside turian space so he had to spend his actual savings on it, so there's a lot of sentimental value for her. she wears it everywhere she goes to keep him close to her even when they're apart.

I've been doing a lot with my absolutely horrible OC Minerva lately so I think I'll answer these for her.

41) How misanthropic are they?

I don't think she's necessarily a misanthrope so much as she thinks that she is much better and smarter than everyone around her and it would just be so much better if everybody just did what she told them to.

50) Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?

I don't think that it even occurs to her that she can die. Like, are there situations that she cannot just overpowered storm mage her way out of, but due to sheer overconfidence it doesn't really occur to her that she can lose in any way that matters.

🥀 (wilted flower) - How does your character deal with stressful situations? Is their fear response fight, flight, freeze or fawn?

Talked a bit about this [here] already! *pats Vince on the head* this bad boy can fit so many bad coping mechanisms for stress, basically. From bottling it up to trying to numb it and ignore it - and it's hard to unlearn when you've never really experienced a time in your childhood that wasn't fueled by some kind of stress.

If we're speaking less about stress in general, but a specific stressful situation, a gig not going as planned, for example, he is actually known to be the one to stay somewhat level-headed (at least on the outside). Inside he's panicking, mind rapidly cycling through his options. And sometimes he really doesn't make the best choices for his own wellbeing. But on the outside he'll seem confident af, even when he's soaked in mud, blood, is barely standing, he'll be like "see, all good, worked out just fine for us, we're still alive!"

🧣(scarf) - What comforts your oc? Is it an item? An action? A person? Whatever it is, how any why does it comfort them?

For Vince his comfort definitely comes from people he trusts and being near to them. There's little comfort in physical things, they're reminders maybe, of good and bad times, of personal convictions (e.g. I would say for example the bullet necklace is a very important reminder to him - to never give up, always keep fighting - but it's not necessarily a comfort item with the memories attached to it). Also, he's lost (almost) everything he owned several times in his life already, so he doesn't tend to get attached to physical things too strongly anymore, believe it or not.

People though that he really trusts and that really get him are far and few, and in a world that's so cold and careless, where you're left to your own devices if you just slip up once, are constantly used and abused, a real true friend is something rare and precious. His friends reassure him that the world isn't just cold and cruel, that there's beauty and love and something to live and fight for, especially whenever his own life doesn't feel enough to fight for anymore.

Perhaps in a blatant call-back to my HoF (also a city elf) she's very good at art. She's not much of a painter the way Kuvira is, but she's very good at sketching/line-art

razan is a tiefling pirate and retribution cleric devoted to the god of grudges, exhaustion, vengeance, and eternal bitter remembrance, weforr. weforr's clerics bear memories long forgotten by the rest of the world, as is his burden. she has a penchant for strange pie (not a euphemism).

i have been sitting on this and the project of drawing greyscale portraits all of our characters from our main d&d campaign for over a year now and am finally getting some progress done! 🥰
