4 Skills you must posses for participating in Volunteer India programs
Although any one can participate in Volunteer India programs, possessing some skills is necessary for taking part in any social activity.  The volunteering works in India mainly centre on teaching, spreading digital literacy or increasing health awareness etc. Natures of these volunteering works are different from each other and thus, different skills are required for participating in these activities. However, if you are going to do volunteering works for short duration, then possessing the following skills is enough to contribute for the country.
Communication skill: Possessing good communication skill is necessary for taking part in Volunteer India programs. During any social activities,  the volunteers need to communicate with lots of people. Thus, such works cannot be conducted effectively without sound verbal and non-verbal communication skill.
Ability to work within teams: Usually the volunteers need to work in teams. Thus,  it will be   easier to take part in such programs if one has the skill to work with other members. Sometimes,  the volunteers might need to lead their teams also. It indicates that the people who have leadership  ability will be able to work more effectively.
Time-management skills: You need to complete different activities within short duration during  the volunteering programs in India. It is not possible to complete all your tasks as a volunteer  unless you have excellent time- management skills.
Adaptability: The tourists who are going to be volunteer in India, should be able to adjust with  new environment as each state has unique cultures. Otherwise, the volunteers will not be able to interact with the local people effectively.
In spite of possessing all the necessary skills, you might face challenges to work in an unknown   environment. However, such problems can be mitigated by seeking support from the organisations   which help tourists to take part in Volunteer India programs.

Experience Voluntouring in India at Budget Rates
Do you love travelling? Visit India. It is the most favoured place among travellers who also want to volunteer. If you too dream of helping out the less privileged, you can participate in volunteer travel India. It is inexpensive and you can afford the best of everything in the country while voluntouring.
The following list will enlighten you about the aspects in India that make for less costly volunteering.
# Low accommodation cost
Compared to other nations, the cost of accommodation in India is quite low. You can afford comfortable living quarters at low prices. Spacious rooms consist of all facilities of living such as TV, phone with intercom, A.C., closet, well-furnished kitchen, properly equipped washroom, balcony, etc. The organization you are attached to will make all arrangements for your accommodation at safe and reliable quarters.
# Cheap travel options
You can travel from one place to another at very low budget. If you opt for trains or intra-state buses, instead of flights, you can save a lot of money. These modes of transport will also allow you to get an insight into the length and breadth of India, the cultures in different parts of the nation and the people in general.
As a volunteer, your volunteering organization will arrange for cheap modes of travelling. You don’t even have to worry about arranging a mode of transport.
# Several tourist destinations
The good thing about volunteering is that you can visit several tourist destinations just by being part of an organization. Most volunteering organizations take their volunteers out on tours. You can, thus, go to different parts of the country just by paying volunteering fees. If you have wanderlust, volunteering is the best way to experience the different facets of India.
# A trustworthy guide
Getting a trustworthy guide who will not dupe you into paying hefty fees is difficult these days.  But, if you are working with an organization, you will have a guide who can give you the information you need. He or she can tell you about the place, its significance, history, cuisine, people and local customs. In the event that you want to buy souvenirs, your guide will help you with the best price. Otherwise, you might be deceived into buying cheap items at expensive rates.
# Mouth-watering cuisines
Indian cuisine is not a single dish or dish type. The markedly differing topography and climate condition have gifted the country a wide variety of cooking styles. Different states have different types of culinary styles. You can taste ‘Biriyani’ in Lucknow and Hyderabad; ‘Petha’ in Agra;’ Idli,’ ‘Dosa’ and ‘Vada’ in any state of South India; ‘Dhokla’ in Gujarat, etc. You can find these foods in other states also, but it is better to taste them in the states where they originated.
# Group travelling
Travelling with a group of people is always fun, instead of travelling alone. When you are travelling with a volunteer organization you will be accompanied by a group of volunteers. Together, you can make a tour of the most favoured destinations of the country. Your organization can also take you to less travelled destinations. Such places give you the real taste of India.
You can also form a group and make a tour of the local sights. India is fraught with interesting tourist destinations.
If India volunteer work attracts you, visit the nation and make the most of what the country has to offer. India will not disappoint you. So, pack your bags and get ready for a holistic India volunteering experience.

How can you volunteer in India with a Limited Budget?
Do you want to volunteer in India? India is a hub of volunteering options. Interested candidates from all over the world visit this country to experience the mirth of volunteering. When looking for volunteering organizations in India you will realize that volunteering is not just working for the greater good. It also involves paying for your accommodation and foods.
However, if you come across agencies you will notice that they charge a lump sum amount for offering you volunteering positions. There are some agencies that hire volunteers who are not even qualified for a particular job and charge hefty amount of money from them.
Visit India and look for volunteering organizations that really work for the development of the community. These organizations charge very little and look for volunteers whoa are eligible for a particular task. For instance, if they hire you for designing a school, you have to be an engineer or an architect.
Mentioned below are some options for budget volunteering you can enrol in.
# Work at orphanages
Orphans are in need of special care. In India there are more than 50,000 thousand orphans. They are either abandoned by their parents or their parents died when they were young. You can be a part of a volunteer organization maintains an orphanage. Orphans do not have parents to dote on them. You can teach the children, play with them and most importantly, be affectionate to them.
# Build homes for the homeless
With India’s population there are thousands of families living on the streets. You can take the responsibility to teach them elementary English and Math. Volunteer organizations looking after the education of street children can help you out in this matter. You can also join one of these organizations to help street children live a better life. You can distribute food among them. If you have the technical expertise, you can build homes for the people living on the streets.
# Work for women’s emancipation
Even in the 21st century, Indian women are still not considered equal to men. Therefore, in many parts of the country, women’s education is not given much importance. Your volunteer work in India can involve joining organizations that impart education tom women.  Education will enable them make a living under dire circumstances. Many Indian families force their women to leave home because they cannot give birth to male children. You can work for the emancipation of these women and the female children they give birth to. Visit villages and perform road shows to drive your point home.
# Coach children in sports
This is an interesting part of volunteering. If you are a sports lover, you can be asked to coach students in sports. Sports keeps people fit both mentally and physically. If you can keep the community people fit, you will be rewarded with an advanced community.
There are many children who cannot participate in district or state level sports competitions because they lack proper training. You can help them learn the game.
# Treat patients at local hospitals
In the event that you want to work for the development of the community where you work, you can also treat patients. But, for this activity you have to be a trained doctor with knowledge about Indian medication.  If you are a trained nurse, you can look after the ailing and unwell in the local hospital.
Therefore, we can conclude that there are several volunteer programs in India that do not cost much. If you are interested to help others within your limited budget, you have numerous options. So, search for volunteer organizations that charge low fees for volunteering and do your best to change the lives of millions.
