"Inigo!" and he whirled back down the mountain path, because if Inigo was alive, it would be all right; it wouldn't be the same, no, it could never be that without Vizzini to order them and insult them as only he could, but at least there would be some time for poetry, and when Fezzik reached the Cliffs of Insanity he said "Inigo, Inigo, here I am" to the rock and "I'm here, Inigo, it's your Fezzik"

Stew pt. 1 "Buttercup's mother hesitated, then put her stew spoon down. (This was after stew but so is everything. When the first man clambered from the slime and made his first home on land, what he had for supper was stew.)"

Stew pt. 2 "Buttercup's mother whirled on him. 'Did you forget to pay your taxes?' (This was after taxes. But everything is after taxes. Taxes were here even before stew.)"

After Buttercup makes her declaration of love to Westley: "He closed the door in her face."

"'Rest then,' her mother cautioned. 'Terrible things can happen when you're overtired. I was overtired the night your father proposed.'"

Kinda wild that it’s taken me like 10 years of watching The Princess Bride to realize that if Inigo did become the Dread Pirate Roberts — as captain of the pirate ship Revenge — he’d still be in the revenge business

just realised that in Moana (2016), when they approach the demon realm cliff, maui calls Moana buttercup. and the cliff resembles the cliff from The Princess Bride (1987) where vizzini and his sidekicks take Buttercup when Westley follows them so cool ya
