also who was the first band to be signed to them ??
iirc maybe the hippos? they were one of the first two… i’m not sure if they’ve actually ever stated a definitive first. but i know john said the hippos were one of the first two bands signed
one could also claim that less than jake was the first band signed bc vinnie fiorello is the co-founder of fbr but that’s up for debate imo
#this is a bit unsatifiying but in a lot of interviews with john he tends to be really vague with the early stuff like that#so the closest i can find is the hippos#haunting.mp3

29.01.06 - Fall Out Boy at Portstmouth Pyramids Centre
Despite really liking Fall Out Boy in the early 2000’s, particularly their debut album Take This Your Grave, by 2006 I had decided I was too good for the band, who had since exploded in popularity.
I was an idiot for this, they weren’t the only band I wrote off just because everyone else liked them, but in my defence I’m definitely not the only one whose ever done this and I have since grown out of this jealous/insecure trait. In fact, by 2007 when FOB released Infinity On High, I’d come back around.
So why did I go to this gig in early 2006?
The ticket in this post isn’t actually mine, or at least it wasn’t the one I originally purchased. Some time before I’d decided to sell the ticket I'd booked for this show as I was no longer interested in seeing the band.
Then the opening band was announced. Gym Class Heroes. Now here was a band that I felt some sense of ownership of (what a loser). They were still relatively unknown in the UK and as Travis McCoy said himself on stage that night, their hip hop crossover sound was a “tough pill to swallow” for some.
They were signed to Fueled By Ramen, still partly owned by Vinnie Fiorello from Less Than Jake. He’d been championing the band for a year or so, and, well, I’d have probably listened to silence at this point in time if he’d recommended it.
GCH’s set, though short, was great, and well worth the journey. Later that evening I decided I should probably replace my CD-R copy of their debut album The Papercut Chronicles, with the real deal. I was served at the merch table by Travis himself. A year later they were close to being a household name thanks to radio hits from their follow up As Cruel As School Children.
Another 'best attempt' photo with my Canon PowerShot A40.

[ nick robinson . twenty one . demi male . he/his & they/them ] just saw VINCENZO “VINNY” ESPOSITO dragging their suitcase up the steps to CABIN 4A . good luck living with HIM , i hear that that they’re IMPRUDENT , STUBBORN , ARDENT & CHARSIMATIC . Apparently they’re the STRIKER. let’s hope the upcoming season doesn’t affect their SENIOR year of PERFORMING ARTS (THEATER)
meet vincenzo fiorello esposito,
about:
vincenzo fiorello esposito was born on april 15, 1999 in a small town in northern italy. the son of two well known actors, giancarlo and gabriella esposito, he was born into a life of privilege and luxury. everything he could ever want was within reach, he had the entire world at his hands.
and his parents encouraged him to follow his dreams, when he wanted to play the piano they got him lessons, when he wanted to play soccer, they signed him up, when he wanted to act, they got him roles.
but life wasn’t as great as it seemed, the constant travel between their native italy and their home base of new york, had it’s toll on vincenzo. his grades slipped, and it was apparent that he was unhappy. so the decision was made to enroll him in an elite boarding school in new york city. and after his graduation he enrolled at hollis university to play soccer and study theater as well as business. he plans to go on to become an actor, but he realized that having a backup would be wise.
i’ll add more to this later, i’m just trying to get this done.
fun facts:
vinny is fluent in both english and italian, though because he’s spent a majority of his time in america he’s somewhat rusty when it comes to italian. in addition he knows some french and spanish.
he has always been incredibly open about his sexuality, something he prides himself in. he’s also just very open about his uh sexual desires. essentially, he knows how to get around and he’s not ashamed of it. he’s very pansexual.
he’s one of the boys who drives a nice car and loves to show it off. i’m thinking some sort of mercedes coup. he doesn’t know much about the technical aspects of cars, but he does know his car is hot.
his maternal grandparents own a vineyard and they have a brand of wine named after him. vinfandel is the name of it.
he used to be a pretty wild partier, but he’s started to calm down a bit. it’s still well known that he knows how to have a good time, but he’s stopped going out every night of the week, instead devoting more time to his studies and athletics.
honestly the fact that he’s a good student comes as a surprise to most people, he gives off the appearance of someone who just doesn’t care. but he’s actually a very hard worker.

wanted connections:
ride or die - his other half, his partner in crime (literally). just imagine the most chaotic duo, because that’s them. you know those tik toks this is what happens when one dumb bitch meets an even dumber bitch??? that’s definitely them.
squad / friend group !! his fellow wild children idk what else to say honestly
exes !!! okay vinny is not great when it comes to dating but he tries, so they probably didn’t last long but he would’ve been a caring boyf. open to m / f / nb
hookups / flings !! pretty self explanatory, probably more of these than exes. could be current or past, open to m / f / nb
a hate ship !! they can’t stand each other, everyone knows it. but their chemistry is undeniable, and when they’re alone together the yelling turns into something else. open to m / f / nb.
rivals !! open to another male on the soccer team, they just push each other to be the best they can possibly be. there’s been some competing for positions, etc. but they’re capable of getting along, at least on vin’s behalf he’s p chill.
anything else honestly maybe like a roommate at school, friends from his childhood, someone who just fucking hates him he’s really annoying it’d make sense; idk pls go wild i’m so lacking in creative ideas atm
feel free to add me on discord ( han solo lo lo lo lo#8494 ) if you’d like to plot there !! otherwise give this a like and i’ll message you !!

I’m working on another blog right now -a blog slightly connected to Sal- and I just want to say that Don Fiorello’s grand idea to have a ethnically traditional family failed. Because as you know, Sal married Delores, had black children. Then Vinny -Fiorello’s direct grandson- has a Jewish son, Joshua. And Josh then had a short-lived marriage with a Persian woman, and with this marriage came a child!
Cassandra and Bianca embrace their Italian heritage. Buuuut, on Vinny’s side of the family, Josh does not. And I already know that his little daughter does not genuinely identify as Italian, either. Even if Vinny is around. And its like, damn...Don Fiorello wouldn’t have expected all of this to happen.
#that being said vinny loves his son. granddaughter. former daughter in law#and thinks of joshua's half brother as being his own offspring. even tho nobody told -or encouraged- him to do that

hey there demons !! it’s me ya girl, maeve !! i’m 21 years old and i never f*cking learned how to read !! i am so pumped to be here!!
━━ * ✩ ❛ federico cesari ; cis male ; he/his ◇ i saw VINCENZO “VINNY” ESPOSITO in town yesterday, rumour has it they’re the TWENTY TWO year old CHILD OF HYPERION who is an AMATEUR JOURNALIST / BARTENDER. they’ve been living here for FOUR YEARS and people often say they’re really adventurous and charismatic, although if you ask me they also seem quite impulsive and stubborn. they really remind me of BORN TO RUN by BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – oh, you’ve never heard that one? well, they also remind me of riding in a convertible with the top down, late nights with friends, sitting on rooftops until 3 am ◇
meet vincenzo fiorello esposito,
about:
the son of hyperion and the only heir to a very profitable vineyard, vincenzo was born into a life of wealth and privilege. anything he wanted, he got it, no questions ask.
his mother was very into traveling, a loved that she passed on to her son. before he turned five, he’d already seen most of europe. as he grew older, they visited more and more countries.
at some point his mother realized her son would benefit from some structure and a formal education, so she enrolled him in an international boarding school in switzerland, which he hated. but he kept his mouth shut, knowing his mother could find somewhere far worse.
and truth be told, the school wasn’t bad- he earned a good education and had plenty of opportunity to dominate on the sports fields. both of which enabled him to rise in terms of popularity.
for as long as he could remember, vincenzo dreamed of growing up and becoming a journalist. so upon completion of high school, he did just that. he enrolled at nyu and spent the next three years working towards his degree.
and while there was plenty of partying and fun to be had, he was a devoted student, always eager to learn, and often going above and beyond his classmates. it was this determination that enabled him to graduate in three years with a job lined up.
it was only after his college graduation, when vincenzo was starting to make a name for himself in the world of journalism that the monster attacks got bad. he’d been left alone most of his life, and all the sudden he couldn’t go more than a couple of days without a monster showing up.
eventually it got so bad that he was a danger to those around him, so reluctantly he put his career on hold and packed up to move to new athens. the move has been quite an adjustment for vincenzo, he’s gone from a life of luxury to well, a life. unable to find work as a journalist, he’s been forced to start working as a bartender.
fun facts:
his dream is to visit all seven continents - to date he’s been to five, all that remain are australia and antartica.
he’s been playing football ( soccer ) and tennis for as long as he can remember, and he’s pretty good at both of them.
he’s known how to play the piano since he was four, and he’s quite good at it- though he doesn’t like to talk about it. he has found that it makes a good party trick.
his favorite person in the entire world is his younger brother leo, who’s like five. he’d do anything for him, and he’s proof that vinny has a human side.
as a child of hyperion, he possesses both photokinesis and pyrokinesis- his pyrokinetic abilities being more defined, due to his near obsessive nature.
he lives in the moment for the moment, all about having a good time.
he’s panromantic, pansexual and very dtf. not much for relationships, but he understands the importance of having a pretty face on your arm ( his words not mine )
pinterest: (x)
playlist: on the road again - willie nelson, young volcanoes - fall out boy, it’s time - imagine dragons, come fly with me - frank sinatra, life is a highway - rascal flatts
wanted connections:
a RIDE OR DIE who is around 20-24. + platonic soulmates would be the perfect way of describing them! they’re not just best friends or partner’s in crime, they complete each other and their relationship goes beyond what words can describe.
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY who is around 20-24 + they were head over heels in love, everyone thought they’d be together for the rest of their lives. but something happened, and they broke up, and vincenzo spent every day wondering where he went wrong. but now they’re back together, and everyone’s waiting to see what happens.
FWB/FLING/HOOKUP who is around 20-26 + vincenzo has earned a reputation as somewhat of a player, though, to be fair he’s not out to play with anyone’s emotions. rather, he’s just desperately seeking physical attraction - whether it’s a one night thing, or it happens more than once. ( open to multiple people, any gender )
FRENEMY / RIVAL who is around 20-24 + while whether or not they’re actually friends is up for debate, one thing’s for certain - these two are constantly competing to see who’s the best, it doesn’t matter if it’s athletics or academics. whenever they’re around each other, it sets off a desire to be better.
HATESHIP who is around 20-24 + in public they can’t stand one another, they’re constantly bickering and doing everything they can to show they’re better than the other. but behind closed doors it’s another story- they can’t get enough of each other. passionate make out sessions, steamy sex, you name it. but the moment they’re out in the open, it’s back to hating each other.

The Bruce Lee Band - “List” Teenage Kicks Song released in 1995. Compilation released in 1997. Ska Punk
Throughout the history of punk rock, it seems like nearly every band has had at least one song on each album that was extremely short. Maybe it’s the cool, “we don’t really care anyway, so here’s this half-baked idea we came up with at the last second,” apathetic ethos of it all, or maybe it’s just the desire to record some quick and fun thrashing. Whatever it is, the concept of a short song has always been a staple of the punk rock album.
The Bruce Lee Band was no exception. This four-piece ska-punk group formed at an opportune moment in 1995, when Mike Park left San Francisco’s third wave ska innovators, Skankin’ Pickle, and the backing members of Less Than Jake were looking to take a breather after their smash debut, Pezcore. Together, Mike and the Less Than Jake guys released their self-titled first album in ‘95 which contained the 38-second, thrashing ska jam, “List”.
In it, Roger Manganelli opens with a quick, six-second bass solo before the rest of the band joins him. Chris Demakes provides a fast and pleasant, skanking guitar rhythm as Mike Park sings to a hypothetical “list man” in a melody reminiscent of a childhood nursery rhyme. In the final ten seconds or so, Vinnie Fiorello speeds up the frequency of his kick drumming, building up to Park asking the list man if any of the upcoming shows on his list have a pit warning. The band then dives into thrash mode, sonically replicating the chaos that takes place inside a mosh pit.

Senior Discount "Afterlife" by P+P Media. Senior Discount has played hundreds of rollicking punk rock shows on the East Coast. They've played with such acts as Sum 41, Anti-Flag, Gym Class Heroes, Less Than Jake, The Ataris, Streetlight Manifesto, and many many more. Their first album "There Were Four Who Tried", has gotten positive reviews from all over the US (and internationally), including very positive reviews from Maximum Rock N Roll (CA), which boasted, "These guys can rock and scream….a strong full-length," and the revered AbsolutePunk.net, which stated "The band really acts out their emotions….Every track from the album is an anthem to punk rock's principles." Our second release ("And That's Goodbye...") received the comment "These guys slay on record and live!" from mash-up DJ sensation Girl Talk. They also focus heavily on film production to promote for their shows and releases. Their one full-length film ("VBW Attack: The Senior Discount Movie") was reviewed by The Noise (Boston) which reported "...let's just say that this DVD is gold and that the band, and those with them, have some mighty winds at their sails." The national television network G4 has bought and aired footage from the film. Lead singer Chuck Staton now works on film projects with Walt and Bryan from Comic Book Men and Brian Quinn from Impractical Jokers, for their podcast Tell 'Em Steve-Dave, which has featured Senior Discount songs on numerous episodes and projects. Chuck also started "The Chuck and Brad Podcast" in 2009, which focuses heavily on Senior Discount and the artists surrounding the band in Providence, RI. Along with regional artists from the area, musicians from Bowling For Soup and Reel Big Fish and more have appeared on the podcast for in-depth, in-person interviews. Tsunami Bomb, The Homeless Gospel Choir, JT Habersaat, Casey Jost (Impractical Jokers) and Jeff Tremaine (director of the Jackass movies) have also appeared on the podcast. In summer of 2018, Kevin Lyman personally added them to the Hartford date of the 2018 Warped Tour, and Vinnie Fiorello from Less Than Jake signed the band to Paper + Plastick Records for their upcoming album, "The Best Revenge."
