The Spy and the Spouse
Pairing : Chamber x F!Reader Word Count : 2139 Warnings : Flirting, Romantic Tension, Spying/Action (only mentions of it), Jealousy, Unrequited Love (at the end on Chamber's part), Emotional Themes. POV : 3rd Person Part 1 - Part 2 - Part3 A/N : Sorry for my poor English, its not my native language. Chamber can be a bit OOC. Gif doesnt belong to me. Please do tell if there is any mistakes or off talks/writings on the scenario.Yellow is for Chamber, Pink is for Reader. I hope you enjoy it.
There was knock on Chamber's office door. Hearing the knock on the door, he sighs and turns to open it, looking at the person knocking. Yes?
She gives him a charming smirk and speaks like velvet. Beinvenue, Fabron. She hands him the mission brief. A mission, but no bloodshed and war this time. An undercover mission. It was written in the brief that Y/N and Vincent were chosen for the mission. They had to pose as a married couple and attend a meeting with businessmen and their spouses.
He looks at the mission brief for a moment, the smirk he had vanishing completely, then looks towards her. He was surprised at the choice of partners they gave. He had'nt expected Protocol to be so nonchalant about them posing as a married couple.
He lets out a long sigh and looks over the mission brief again. He looks at her from top to bottom, clearly analyzing if you'd be capable of carrying out this mission. ...Well. You look good. No one could tell we're actually not dating, right?
Since both of us are seen as suitable for this mission, why not? She raises an eyebrow with the smug smirk on her face. She leans on the doorframe with her arms crossed.
This catches him off-guard. He raises an eyebrow, questioning whether she is confident enough for a mission as tricky as this one, or if she is simply arrogant. Its a fine-line, to be sure. He narrows his eyes slightly, clearly more intrigued by her.
He folds the mission brief dossier and gestures at his desk. If you are coming, sit down. We have plenty to discuss. She opens her hands, accepting that they really needed to discuss about the mission. She walks inside his office.
Chamber walks behind his desk and opens up a drawer, putting the mission brief in its place. He then sits, facing her with his elbows on the table. Now that both were closer, she saw a more professional look to him. His tie was neat, his shirt was crisp, and his manner was reserved. In a word? Competent.
He looks at her again, analyzing her further. He has less doubts in her now, but she was still a wildcard. He had better make sure she was up to the task for this mission. So, are you ready? She speaks confidently, almost playfully, yet its visible she is taking this mission seriously. I am. But we really need to prepare somethings before the mission, otherwise we will get caught easily like a rat.
He nods, his expression remaining neutral. There was something to admire about her attitude, but... They werent just going to be posing as a married couple. They were going to be posing as a happily married couple. He would have to figure out exactly how they would both act in marriage. Lets go over this and discuss, shall we? There are some things I'd like to clarify.
She gives him a small nod. She already knew how to act in front of all that people, the boundaries they will have without being too clingy, but she lets him have the word. Of course.
He leans in closer, his expression becoming a bit softer. When he spoke, it was in a calming, reassuring tone. He'd rather her not lose her composure before the mission even started. I want to be clear on this: you dont need to be lovey-dovey in this mission in front of these people. You need to be married in front of these people. Im sure you understand the difference.
Oooh~, my dear husband doesnt like clingy wife? She teases him and laughs heartily. Chamber laughs in spite of himself. He shakes his head, smiling in amusement. She managed to put him at ease, and he had to appreciate that. She didnt make him worry, she made him laugh.
She sighs as her laughter dies down, then she speaks with amusement in her tone and smirk on her face, but she was speaking with the weigh and seriousness of the mission. She knew what she was signing in. We have to figure out how we would act like a married couple, especially in this setting. I'd like to know how we should act around each other. Pretend we've been in a happy marriage for a while.
He leans back in thought, thinking about how a married couple would act. He had seen a lot of married couples, both good and bad. He takes more than a moment to think, though not as long as to actually make a decision. He looks at her with his eyes as stern as they were sharp. Confident and arrogant. Perfect.
She smirks with confidence. There must be someone who can carry him and herself, and she knew its no one except her. Is that a bad thing? We will have so much fun.
She smirks softly. Chamber smiles a little, looking at her for a few more moments before speaking. You... might make a good partner when all's said and done. Suits are required, ladies are to wear formal attire, gentlemen are to look their best and most respectable. You and I are in a high society marriage. We will be greeted first by a host, then taken through the room and introduced to people. You know the drill.
She chuckles heartily. We all know the format. Whats important is how will we pose as a married couple. We need to come up with a story and act like our characters as a married couple.
Chamber thinks once or twice before speaking, his face and manner becoming more professional. He nods his head. I know something we can use. Our partners arent the only businesspeople attending the dinner. There is a CEO, his wife and his daughter. He leans forward, lowering his voice a little as if it were some super-top-secret state matter. The CEO's daughter is single.
She raises an eyebrow, smirking at the information she just got from him. And? Are you trying to cheat on your dear wife?
He looks at her. It takes him a long while to speak, for he is trying not to smirk alongside her. No, this was not some sort of love comedy, it was a mission in disguise. Still, the playful banter was an interesting surprise.
He tries to maintain a straight face in the most "professional" manner he was capable of. His expression slowly turns into one of intrigue. Maybe the daughter is trying to steal me away from you, darling.
She didnt expect him to say something back, but she welcomed it. She smirks and leans back on her chair. I wont back down to protect my husband though. Im quite possesive.
He smirks in a subtle fashion, finding her more and more interesting. He liked the possessiveness she expressed. Her role was going to be more active in this mission than expected. He was starting to appreciate that. Now, if only he was capable of displaying affection to give her the right idea. Is that so? Who said you wouldnt be playing the loving wife, in that case? He laughs. He couldnt play it cold forever. He had to loosen up a bit.
He sits back, putting his hands behind his head and enjoying the banter a lot. She laughs heartily at the sight of him. We are getting far from the topic. Leave the sweet daughter of CEO aside, how will we act in the mission?
Chamber nods, returning to his serious demeanor. He understood the importance of this conversation. He takes a few more moments to think over what he wants to tell her before speaking. Alright, we'll be acting as newlyweds in this dinner. In the eyes of the other businesspoeple, you should look at me with adoring eyes. You are in love and cant keep your hands off of each other.
He rolls his eyes, almost as if he wanted to barf at the idea of the charade. Then, he looked at her with a sly smile. She rolls her eyes and puts a hand on her forehead dramatically. She speaks in dramatic tone as if she is on stage of Shakespeare's play. Clingy wife and reluctant husband? How dramatic.
He tilts his head to the side, enjoying how into character she was. He was enjoying this a lot more now that they both were really into it. She looked like a girl so in love, it was honestly charming. He had seen this expression enough in the face of a woman.
He sighs dramatically, as if he was a man who had to endure a clingy, needy wife. Are we really going to have to do this...?
She sighs heavily. We have to. We will go our own ways after this is over. She crosses her arms as her expression gets smug: raised eyebrow and a cocky smirk. I hope you dont expect something between us after that.
In the back of his mind, he hoped he could have a moment to breathe after this mission. To actually give a girl the kind of affection he couldnt just so easily turn off.
Of course, darling. This is just business, after all. He chuckles a little, trying not to laugh as the expression on her face looked downright funny. He leans back on his chair, smirking. Lets put on a good show, yes sweetheart?
She nods with the same smug expression. Of course, why are we there for if we dont put on a good show? Chamber grins at her, finally actually happy to have partnered with someone like her. Even if they both were going to act like a married couple, she still gave a hell of a good impression.
He looks around the room one more time before standing up and coming around the side of the desk. He leans on the desk as if sitting on the edge of it. He bends forward over the desk slightly, speaking with a low, soft voice that was still loud enough for her to hear. Lets practice.
He gives her a mischievious smile. In one swift move, he grabs her hand and gets her up on her feet, guiding her to him. He pulls her towards him, their faces dangerously close and he leans even closer, whispering in a tone so quiet she barely believe what was happening. He was a lot closer than he should, his breath ghosting over her skin. Well? Whats stopping you from giving me a kiss, my dear wife?
In front of him, she smirks at his move and she put her arms draping over his shoulders. Does my husband wants attention? She speaks like velvet, seductive and teasing. Her tone is quiet yet enough to make him feel something.
He leans forward, getting even closer. He takes a deep inhale, his eyes closing in pleasure. Slowly, and softly, he leans his head against her soft, smooth skin. He was taking that moment to enjoy, to savor every bit of it. His expression was that of pure satisfaction. It would be such a shame to make this a one-time thing. Dont you agree, beloved wife?
She slowly close her eyes as she closes the distance between them. Their lips touches and they share a tender, slow, short kiss. As the kiss stopped, he took one more small moment of her skin. To feel her warmth, her soft skin on his lips one more time.
When it ended, he breathed heavily and slowly, his face was a little flustered. So close, yet he had to stop himself, just barely. At his flustered state, she feels he wants more than what they shared. The same smirk returns to her face. I hope you wont be too attached to your "wife". Because everything will be over when the mission ends.
He finally speaks, his voice is a little hoarse. He was trying to control his feelings better, but she was something else. A part of him hoped she would feel the same. He only leaned back slightly, still close enough for her to touch. I'll do my best to manage.
I hope so. She chuckles almost seductively. She pulls herself away from him and walks towards the office door. Before she opens the door, she turns to him. Her smirk, her damn smirk on her face, she speaks with velvet-like tone. Dont screw this up.
Chamber watches her leave, clearly affected by the sight of her. He breathed quickly, his hands clasping his arms to stop himself from going after her. In one deep inhale, he got himself steady. He was going to enjoy this game.
Before she left, she heard a low whisper from his lips to her ears:
We will see about that, darling.

Maréchaux d'Empire: La gloire pour destin
Quelle horreur!
On the other hand, this book will keep me alternating between guffaws and serious eye-rolls for days.
The "replacement" for David Chandler's anthology, Napoleon's Marshals, published in 1987 with each of the 26 mini-bios written by for-real scholars [and not just Americans, either] is this November 2023 anthology edited by Francois Houdecek, who holds forth at the Sorbonne, claims to be a "disciple" of Jean Tulard [I believe M. Tulard has thousands of those!], and is involved in all sorts of activities and scribblings involving Naps. He is also responsible for gathering and organizing vast quantities of Napoleon's correspondence, so kudos for that.
However--and oh, my! what a huge "however" this is!--the 26 contributors range from the marginally average Pierre Branda to the apparent dregs of French scholarship whose names have never resonated outside the borders of Gallica. Each of these articles is depressingly cardboard, flimsy with details, utterly bereft of any attempt at analysis or understanding of the individual's character, talents--or lack thereof--and other useful and expected details, even in an anthology. These contributors apparently competed to see who could write the most drivel using the fewest sources. Naturally, I went straight to the entry about Lannes, and by the time I reached the end, I had permanently dislocated my eyebrows. The "author" of this travesty is Jacques-Olivier Boudon, whose credentials, on paper, are impressive but whose knowledge of Jean-Boy is worse than passing; it is non-existent. The reason for that is based on M. Boudon's sources:
He cites Lannes’ “official dossier” in the SHD, which I copied before I left, so I know every page and every sentence in it, and I know you won’t find squat that is useful unless, of course, you care how much putting on Mozart’s Requiem cost, and who sang the tenor solo.
High on the hit parade list is Regis de Crepy’s smarmy bio of the Lovely Louise, another book I can quote endlessly. Boudon used one letter from that.
Boudon also took bits and pieces from the three more recent French biographies by Dammame, Zins, and Willette—although the latest was published in 1994—and explained what I thought about them in a previous blog.
The absolutely most hysterical “source” is the 2002 historical fiction by a lovely 93-year-old woman, Penelope Le Fers-Dupac, who lives in Lectoure and who I know [I also know the biographer Jean-Claude Dammame, but that’s another story]. This novel is called “Le Mousquetaire de Napoleon: L’autre vie du marechal Lannes.” Make of this what you will, but it is the wonderfully entertaining, hilarious, and fictional tale of Jean-Boy’s first marriage.
I am appalled that this person didn’t do justice to Jean-Boy in an anthology where he would have shone at the top in capable hands. I know who's the real expert here, and I certainly don’t mind if someone also chooses to write about My Guy. But he or she had damn well better get it right, and this French morceau de merde massacred his subject.
BTW, joachimnapoleon, have you encountered Vincent Haegele? He did Murat no favors here, either. Thanks for reading the rant. I feel better.

jt (finally) watches warrior nun - s1 e5 & e6
All right, I'm just going to combine my thoughts for episodes 5 and 6, and again, going to focus on Beatrice because I have some frustrations with these two episodes as a whole (for some thoughts, see my e5 rewrite; still working on the e6 rewrite) - I can see what they’re trying to do and I appreciate it but ... that's a different post.
Anyway. Let’s talk about Beatrice! The thing that sticks with me in these two episodes are just how angry she’s become - yes, it’s wrapped up in this cool exterior and that seemingly angelic smile but she is just itching to fight - and she does a bit, here.
(Side note: Beatrice is kinda like Ava in that regard, actually - how quick they are to throw down. The difference is that Beatrice a) knows what she’s doing when she fights and b) has been conditioned, trained to think analytically, strategically. Not to say that Ava can’t or doesn’t learn - Bea just has more experience)
The key scene in episode 5 is that brilliant conversation with Duretti. But I think part of what makes that scene brilliant is how it contrasts with her scene with Vincent previous to this. With Vincent, Beatrice allows herself to be uncertain, to question, trusts Vincent to give her an honest answer. (Again, brilliant writing in terms of setting up Vincent’s betrayal - it’s only when you look closely that you see how he’s playing everyone) In fact, one thing that I couldn't help but notice: she fidgets with her hands during the conversation. For someone usually so outwardly confident, she allows herself to just be a young woman seeking advice with Vincent.
Then we have Beatrice with Duretti. From the jump, Beatrice is distant - she even tries to dismiss herself at the start, after loading the shield into the transport. But she unfortunately isn't able to escape. She stays distant as Duretti tries to build rapport - "You've read my dossier" as if implying 'anyone can do that, I know what you're doing.' She even puts literal arm's distance between them:
Contrast this with her scene with Vincent, where she allows herself to bend - it's not a lot, but it's there:
And then Duretti does his spiel. I just want to give KTY all of the props for putting so many layers into how she stays so chilly in the face of his compliments, not to mention her delivery. The simple, “Turmoil, sir?” is just so great:
(I wish I knew how to make gifs lol, but this captures her suspicious face good enough)
Also one thing I didn't notice before about her "to God" line is how much of a threat it is:
And all these layers is what makes me love this whole conversation. The first time I watched this properly, my thought was, "oh snap, this is not a smart play" - because Beatrice has essentially shown her hand here. Even though it’s coated in the language of a believer, both she and Duretti know what she's really saying.
But after watching it again (because I kept missing the timing for my screenshots lol), I realized that this is Beatrice also playing Duretti for information - or rather confirmation. Remember that right before this scene, she was questioning Vincent about the whole change of direction under Duretti. And here, she's getting him to tell her what he wants of her, what his intentions are.
And she gets what she wants - she gets him to be "forthright" with her, and it riles her way up. It reminded me a lot of episode 4 where she calls out Lilith in the middle of the mission. My thoughts there were that her anger is being fueled by fear - and I think that’s the same in this scene with Duretti. Loyalty seems to be the trigger - which makes sense given her background. She found her purpose in the OCS, has given her life to the OCS. And now this man presumes to take control of it? And have her swear fealty to him? No wonder Beatrice is so riled up: he’s threatening what she sees is her way of life - her very existence.
And so in the face of that, she essentially goes over his head, jumps the chain of command so to speak, puts her loyalty in God. It’s both a thinly veiled “f you” to Duretti and a genuine expression of Beatrice’s faith, but also I think it’s a look again into how Beatrice sees herself. That all she has is her service, that her allegiance, and her salvation, lies in Him. I think that’s brilliant in the face of what she ends up going through, especially in s2, how she learns to serve herself, to find salvation in life (and Ava).
Now regarding episode 6, I know Beatrice is only present at the end of the episode to pick up Mary but it’s a curious thing - because while Mary tells Ava that she’s safe here, that the OCS doesn’t know she’s there, when Mary gets picked up, Mary doesn’t try to get Ava to hide or anything. Which makes me wonder: Did Mary do that because she knew Beatrice wouldn’t say anything? I don’t believe that she would do something like that without thinking of Ava’s safety.
We also don’t get any conversation on camera of Mary telling Beatrice to keep Ava’s location a secret - from the way their exchange goes, it gives the impression that there wasn’t much talk during that ride back to Cat’s Cradle. There’s an intensity to Beatrice in this scene that's palapable (which is hella impressive on KTY’s part given that she had only seconds on screen) - I mean, her face when she’s looking at, I’m assuming, Ava in the side mirror:
It’s hard to know what she’s thinking here, and when she speaks to Mary too. The terseness of her words, the shortness of it - “She coming?” isn’t even a proper sentence, now that I think about it. While she trusts Mary, there’s an anger there, but it makes me wonder, is it directed at Ava? At herself? At the whole situation? I also wonder if Beatrice even knows about Lilith at this point - and if she does, is that also a layer in this delivery?
It’s intriguing and sets up very well the fact that the relationship between Beatrice and Ava is very much hard won, that there's many things they have to build together yknow?
Anyway, lmk what y'all think, otherwise, very much looking forward to episode 7!

Do not believe the White House/mainstream media-concocted narrative that the four criminal court cases—prosecuted by Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, Jack Smith, and Fani Willis—were not in part coordinated, synchronized, and timed to reach their courtroom psychodramatic finales right during the 2024 campaign season.
These local, state, and federal Lilliputian agendas were designed to tie down, gag, confine, bankrupt, and destroy Trump psychologically and physically. They are the final lawfare denouement to years of extra-legal efforts to emasculate him.
Indeed, the nation is by now worn out by these serial assaults on constitutional norms: the Hillary-funded Steele dossier subterfuge; the pre-election Russian laptop disinformation campaign; the two impeachments without special counsel reports; the impeachment Senate trial of a private citizen; the effort to remove Trump’s name from state ballots; the ongoing attempt to emasculate the Electoral College; or the radical opportune changes in state election laws to ensure massive mail-in balloting.
Recently, Andrew McCarthy has reviewed in depth this coordination between White House personnel and prosecutors, long known and long denied by the left. Biden, for example, had complained to aides about Attorney General Merrick Garland’s tardiness in getting special federal prosecutor Smith appointed—and thus apparently ensuring Trump was convicted before the election.
Nathan Wade, Fani Willis’s now-fired paramour prosecutor, visited and consulted with the White House counsel’s office when he was acting supposedly as a purely local county prosecutor. The January 6th left-wing-dominated congressional committee consulted with the Biden administration in sending forth its criminal referrals about Trump’s purported role in the protests. And to handle his pseudo-indictment against Trump, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg hired Biden Justice Department official Vincent Colangeio.
Two, the prosecutors’ delayed criminal indictments and E. Jean Carroll’s civil suit were predicated only on Donald Trump running for reelection. After his 2020 defeat, the loss of the two Republican senate seats in Georgia, and the January 6 demonstrations/riot, Trump was written off by pundits as politically toxic.
Then his historic comeback in the subsequent year terrified the left. The reboot prompted the subsequent indictments and suits years after the purported crimes. It was left unsaid that had Trump not been a conservative Republican and leading presidential candidate, he would have never been indicted.
Three, most of the indictments either had no prior precedent in criminal law or will likely never be used again, at least against anyone left-wing. Moreover, many of the writs relied on manipulation of statutes of limitations.
Neither Bragg nor any other local prosecutor had previously transformed a supposedly local affidavit misdemeanor into a supposed federal campaign finance violation, a gambit so preposterous that it had been passed on by federal attorneys.
Letitia James was the first New York Attorney General to indict a state resident for the supposed crime of overvaluing real estate to obtain a loan, which was paid back timely and in full, to the profit of lending institutions. No bank, after auditing Trump’s assets and viability to pay back loans, was unhappy to loan to him. But all were quite happy to profit from the hefty interest—and would likely be happy to loan to him again.
James sought to make Trump a criminal without ever finding a crime, much less a victim. Nor, until the checkered and unethical career of Fani Willis, had any local prosecutor ever indicted an ex-president for a supposedly improper phone call questioning whether all the state’s votes had been fully counted.
Alvin Bragg’s case was nonexistent given the statute of limitations on supposed misdemeanors committed over six years prior—until Bragg transmogrified the accusations of minor crimes into felonies and, with them, extensions granted supposedly due to the COVID lockdowns.
In Carroll’s case, her unsubstantiated accusations of a sexual assault were also well past the statute of limitations until a left-wing New York legislator and unapologetic Trump hater passed a special law—a veritable bill of attainder aimed at Trump—waiving the statute of limitations for a year in cases of accusations of long-past sexual assault in the state of New York.
Four, all the indictments and suits took place in either blue cities, counties, or states. And most of the jury pools in or near New York, Atlanta, or Miami were or will be heavily Democrat. So far, the New York judges who have overseen Trump’s civil and criminal trials—Justices Engoron, Kaplan, and Merchan—were all liberals, appointed by Democrat or liberal politicians, and some have donated to Democrat causes. They were not shy about expressing disdain for defendant Trump. No changes in venues were ever allowed.
Five, all the prosecutors, Bragg, James, Smith, and Willis, are likewise either Democrats or associated with liberal causes. In the case of Bragg, James, and Willis, all three ran for office and raised money on promises and boasts of getting Donald Trump. And all three have now set the precedent that local and state prosecutors can warp the law and use it to go after an ex-president and leading presidential candidate of the opposite party for naked political purposes.
Six, all these cases were equally applicable to high-profile Democrat politicos. E. Jean Carroll’s defamation suit was the most laughable of all the court dramas, but its outline and protocols just as easily could have applied to Tara Reade. She came forward to accuse candidate Biden of having sexually assaulted her years earlier—roughly about the same period’s as Carroll’s fluid timelines. Her story is about as believable or unbelievable as Carroll’s. But the difference was that whereas the media canonized the delusional and self-contradictory Carroll as a useful anti-Trump tool, it demonized Reade as a crazy loon and liar—and a potential impediment to Biden’s 2019-20 primary campaign.
Bragg had to torture the law to fabricate a federal campaign finance indictment against Trump. But Hillary Clinton clearly violated federal campaign statutes—and was variously fined—when she tried to hide her “opposition research” payments to Christopher Steele as “legal expenses.” In truth, Steele was hired and paid to concoct a fake anti-Trump dossier and likely should have been barred from working for a presidential campaign given he was not a U.S. citizen.
In the case of Smith, simultaneously with his case against Trump, his twin special prosecutor, Robert Hur, found that Joe Biden had unlawfully removed classified files for much longer than Trump (30 years plus), in a much less secure location (his rickety garage), and without a president’s authority to declassify his documents. Moreover, he had disclosed their contents to his ghostwriter, who destroyed evidence under subpoena by Hur. Yet unlike Trump, Biden was not charged, given that Hur claimed that Biden, in his opinion, was so old and amnesiac that he might win sympathy rather than a conviction from a jury.
Willis indicted Trump for supposedly trying to pressure officials to “find” missing Trump ballots, thus supposedly violating “racketeering” statutes, as he oversaw an attempt to find troves of ballots he thought had been cast for him. Of course, in the same state, Stacy Abrams, after losing the gubernatorial race of 2018, claimed she had actually won, despite losing by over 50,000 votes. She sued to overturn the election and then made a celebrity-political career touring the nation, falsely claiming she was the real governor and her victorious opponent was an illegitimate governor.
For that matter, in 2016, left-wing organizations, celebrities, and thousands of political operatives sought to overturn the Trump victory by appealing to the electors to renounce their states’ popular vote tallies and thus become “faithless electors.” In sum, there was a true conspiracy, or, better, a “racketeering” scheme, to use Willis’s parlance, to coordinate various groups to overturn the constitutional duties of electors to throw the election to Hillary Clinton. Clinton, along with the likes of ex-president Jimmy Carter and soon-to-be House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries, would continue to deny that Trump was the legitimately elected president.
In sum, the number of suits against and indictments against Trump grew in correlation to his political fortunes. They were designed in the election year 2024 to do what Democrat voters likely cannot. They are ridiculous and sui generis, and will never be used against anyone other than Trump. They have done more damage to democracy, the rule of law, and equal justice to the law than all of the antics that Trump is accused of.
Moreover, they will set in motion a dangerous tit-for-tat cycle of weaponization that threatens the very constitutional order of the United States.
If Trump is elected to restore the rule of equal justice, will a Republican special counsel revisit Robert Hur’s work and find ex-President Biden quite capable of standing trial for the crimes Hur has already investigated and confirmed?
Will then a new Republican-appointed FBI director order a SWAT-like raid, with Fox News forewarned and Newsmax reporters on the scene, to descend into the Biden beach house?
Will county and state prosecutors in Utah, Montana, and Oklahoma feel that to stop this cycle of illegality, they must charge the Biden family members by bootstrapping local indictments onto federal crimes?
Will conservative women in the future come forward in Arkansas, Idaho, and Alabama to claim that in their past, they now suddenly remember that decades ago a prominent Democrat candidate harassed them? Will their right-wing lawyers cherry-pick the proper red-state judge?
Will conservative district attorneys find ways to indict Joe Biden on the various imaginative bookkeeping and “loan repayments” used to disguise the fact his corrupt family received well over $20 million from illiberal foreign interests, much if not all of it camouflaged to avoid income taxes?
Will some South Carolina legislator get a bill of attainder passed in the legislature, ending the statute of limitations for a year for all those in 2016 who sought to undermine the electors and flip them to Hillary Clinton?
In August or September, will a right-wing state prosecutor and a conservative judge find that Joe Biden’s creative bookkeeping warrants a $450 million fine, payable before appeal?
And will Republican officials and judges in purple states move to get Biden’s name off the ballot?
Such scenarios are endless and, given the current precedents, could all be justified as desperate deterrent measures to shock the left into ceasing their efforts to sabotage our constitutional system and rule of law.
A final note. There is a divine order of balance in the world, one known variously by particular civilizations as kismet, nemesis, karma, or what goes around, comes around payback. We’ve already seen such forces at work: Sen. Schumer at the head of a mob at the doors of the Supreme Court, calling out threats to justices by name, only now finding pro-Hamas thugs circling his own home. Or Democrats during the Trump years straining to find ways to invoke the 25th Amendment, now humiliated into claiming a non-compos-mentis Joe Biden is “sharp as a knife.”
Tragically for the country, to stop this left-wing madness, the Trump travesties may not be the end, but the beginning of precisely what the Founders feared.

Lonesome Cowboys Andy Warhol, 1968
A set of original 16mm presentation reels of the film that sparked the “Stonewall of the South.” Six 35mm film reels housed in 2 metal flight cases. Movielab, New York, pritned ca. 1969.
On the evening of 5 August 1969, a small crowd of seventy settled in to view Andy Warhol’s Lonesome Cowboys at the recently opened art cinema at the Ansley Mall in Atlanta. About fifteen minutes into the homoerotic underground spoof on westerns featuring Warhol stars Viva, Joe Dallesandro, Eric Emerson, Meade, and Tom Hompertz, the film suddenly stopped, and the house lights went up. The police, some in uniform, others in plainclothes, were everywhere, some with cameras taking photographs of the startled movie-goers still in their seats. Those who attempted to depart quickly were blocked at the door and they too were photographed and questioned by Atlanta police officers. Other officers headed upstairs to the projection room to seize the film reels and arrest James Russ, the manager of the Ansley Mini-Cinema. The police mounted the raid not only to enforce local obscenity laws but identify “known homosexuals,” part of a pattern of harassment that members of Atlanta’s gay Midtown neighborhood routinely endured. Abby Drue, a noted LBGTQ activist, was in the audience that night. “They had everybody get up and line up,” she recalled. “We had popcorn in our mouths. I think I had a submarine sandwich I was in the middle of eating. That’s how absurd it was.”
The police raid in Atlanta occurred a little more than a month after the Stonewall riots in New York, and for many members of the city’s burgeoning LGBTQ community, the raid on the Ansley Mini-Cinema was the final straw. Several days after the raid, a group of protesters were pepper-sprayed and some arrested. These events compelled Atlanta’s LGBTQ community to form the Georgia Gay Liberation Front. That organization would mount Atlanta’s first Pride march in 1971 — an unsanctioned march in which many of participants wore paper bags over their heads to protect their identities — starkly demonstrating the risk of physical harm that was an ever-present threat. Despite local hostility, the marches continued, and Atlanta’s LBGTQ community began flourishing over the ensuing decades becoming strong and vibrant. Today, the raid has been dubbed, “The Stonewall of the South.”
Yet the Atlanta police were not the only law enforcement agency to take interest in Lonesome Cowboys. The FBI had been monitoring the film soon after it was filmed in a single day a dude ranch near Tucson, Arizona on 28 January 1968. A Special Agent was dispatched to Arizona to interview witnesses to support a potential charge of “interstate transportation of obscene matter.” The investigation had been prompted by a complaint received at the Pinal County Sherriff, that “some guests at the Rancho Linda Vista Guest Ranch were making an obscene film.” Sherriff’s deputies arrived at the ranch on the afternoon of the 28th and ordered that the filming be halted immediately. The FBI kept a copiously detailed dossier on the film’s production based on eyewitness accounts that offer a window into the chaos of the film’s production covering all aspects from various “unnatural sexual acts” to details on the license plate numbers (redacted) of those on set. One eyewitness recalled that “The movie seemed to have no plot and the actors just said anything that came into their minds.” (Vincent Canby and other critics would take a similar view.) The FBI continued to monitor the film’s production and distribution, noting that Warhol had intended it to be premiered at the Hudson Theatre in New York in late April 1968, but editing was taking longer than planned. Then in early June, Warhol fell victim to an assassination attempt, further delaying production. It finally premiered at the San Francicso International Film Festival on 1 November 1968, and FBI agents were there collecting further evidence.
Meanwhile in Atlanta, the question of whether the film could be considered obscene landed in the courts. Ultimately, Lewis Slayton, the Fulton County District Attorney, allowed the film to be shown after Cradock Films, who held the rights to distribute the film in Georgia, agreed to edit out what the county considered objectionable. By early January 1970, the Ansley Mini-Cinema was once again presenting Lonesome Cowboys. As far as the FBI’s investigation into Warhol’s activities was concerned, federal prosecutors in Arizona, San Francisco and New York ultimately declined to pursue the charges in court, as the film was not considered “obscene within the definition of that word as defined by the Supreme Court of the United States.”
The present copy is believed to have been printed as early as 1969, but no earlier. According to the FBI report on the film’s screening in San Francisco in November 1968, the film opened with “the woman [Viva] and her male nurse [Taylor Meade] on a street in the town,” but the present copy, opens with a sex scene between Viva and Tom Hompert which appears to be consistent with the currently-known copies. The markings found on the paper sleeves include a red stamp for “INTERNATIONAL AMUSEMENT CORP,” a short-lived distribution and production company based in North Carolina established in 1974. This would suggest this film was in circulation in various art houses up until at least the mid to late 1970s.
The current number of original copies used during the film’s showings in 1969 and 1970 is unclear, but the present set of reels is marked as “Print No. 10” on each of the surviving paper sleeves. Original reels of the film are known to have survived including a master print at the Andy Warhol museum and copies at the Museum of Modern Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. It is not clear if other copies survive in any private collections.

I media greci: «A libro paga 60 eurodeputati»
14 dicembre 2022
Almeno 60, secondo i media greci.

May 5, 1943. Page 1 & 3.

Shinra is gone, and with it, the world Elena navigated with such bravado. Lost in midst of her former enemies, all rising to the challenge of building back better than before, she assigns herself a new mission. By bringing a dossier to the new centre power rising across the sea, she can help to strike a decisive blow against the rebellion – but first, she must put her skills to the test to appear as one of them.
Finally posting the first chapter of something I've been chipping away at for a while! It's part of a series, but considering we pick up very soon after Meteorfall, I think it makes for a pretty good place to jump in.
#final fantasy vii#ffvii fanfiction#elena ff7#froze fics#aiming for fortnightly updates but we'll see
