“Nothing in my view is more reprehensible than those habits of mind in the intellectual that induce avoidance, that characteristic turning away from a difficult and principled position, which you know to be the right one, but which you decide not to take.
You do not want to appear too political; you are afraid of seeming controversial; you want to keep a reputation for being balanced, objective, moderate; your hope is to be asked back, to consult, to be on a board or prestigious committee, and so to remain within the responsible mainstream; someday you hope to get an honorary degree, a big prize, perhaps even an ambassadorship.
For an intellectual these habits of mind are corrupting par excellence. If anything can denature, neutralize, and finally kill a passionate intellectual life it is the internalization of such habits.
Personally I have encountered them in one of the toughest of all contemporary issues, Palestine, where fear of speaking out about one of the greatest injustices in modern history has hobbled, blinkered, muzzled many who know the truth and are in a position to serve it.
For despite the abuse and vilification that any outspoken supporter of Palestinian rights and self-determination earns for him or herself, the truth deserves to be spoken, represented by an unafraid and compassionate intellectual.”

Im so sick of it
I'm sick of the duplicity of the world. Of the lies. Of the hate for our people.
I'm sick of the fact that people can make up any lie they want-- and it will be believed, as long as it's against Israel.
I'm sick of the vilification of our people.
I'm sick of not being able to be human. Everyone else is allowed to be human. But not us. Our humanity only exists when we are dead and stay dead, when we accept death like good Jews. We can only be human when we are a young girl with a diary - killed before she grows up to be a Jewish woman. She is pure and good. And dead. *She* is allowed to be human.
I'm sick of the veneration of Palestinians as angels. As holy martyrs like Jesus who die for humanity's sins. Who are the stick with which the Jews are beaten and the collective guilt forged around our necks
I'm sick of the vapid, mindless, privileged fcks who call for our extinction without repercussions. Who win virtue points with pithy slogans that are euphemisms for genocide.
I'm sick of the spineless, "as a Jews" who go along with them, bending over with a "thank you sir may I have another" claiming the moral high ground as they tread on our people
I'm sick of the idiot soldiers who act like buffoons or racists and upload their idiocy to the internet making the majority - the good upstanding people of the IDF look bad.
I'm sick of having to beg to be heard, for our pain to count, for the world to understand that they are playing into Iran's hands in every step of this masterplan to destroy the West and the Jews
I'm sick of balancing love of my people with hatred of this government, walking that thin thin line that barely holds me up. Not asking the questions of HOW DID THIS HAPPEN and WHERE WERE YOU because this unity we've found is the glory of Israel
I'm sick of not being unable to say BRING THEM HOME at any cost because there are some costs too hard to bear if we are going to prevent this from happening again.
I'm sick of waking up on repeat just to realize this isn't a nightmare.

Daily update post:
The IDF has been releasing a lot of incriminating intel on the Shifa hospital in Gaza being used by Hamas. There's footage of a drone going into a terror tunnel underneath it.
youtube
There's pics of the weapons found there. There's the results of an investigation into the fate of 19 years old Noa Marziano, who was kidnapped by Hamas, lightly injured in an IDF strike, which killed the terrorist who was guarding her, another terrorist took her into the basement at the Shifa hospital, and killed her there, then Hamas tried to stage "evidence" that she was killed in the IDF strike. And most recently, there's CCTV footage showing Hamas bringing in hostages (one man from Nepal and one from Thailand) into Shifa, with the terrorists being armed, and all of this was done in broad daylight, and right in front of the medical staff.
Of course anti-Israelis, including the Hamas, said it was just bringing hostages in to get treatment.
But here's the thing, Shifa is on the Western side of Gaza, while Hamas breached the Israeli border in the east. On the way between the border and where this hospital is located, there are plenty of other medical facilities on the way. Any of them would be preferable if the goal was to give the hostages medical treatment as soon as possible. But they took these kidnapped men all the way to Shifa instead. Because that's Hamas' headquarters.
I've known for years, like most Israelis, that Hamas is using medical facilities like hospitals and ambulances for its terrorist activity. This evidence does not surprise me. But I think it didn't really sink in for me until yesterday, just how many people knew and kept silent. I'm not even talking about the Gazan medical staff. They live under the constant threat of Hamas, I don't blame them. But the UN, the Red Cross, all of those "noble" NGO's operating from Gaza (and getting a lot of donations to do so), all of those foreigners with access to Gaza, who knew the situation on the ground, and chose to lie, and continued to do so even after the Oct 7 massacre... WTF is wrong with these people? By keeping quiet, they endangered both Israeli civilians (who Hamas could continue to target with impunity when operating from inside medical facilities), and Palestinian ones that Hamas endangered by using them as human shields.
Who is going to hold these people accountable? Who is going to make them pay for their complicity in endangering so many people, millions altogether, on both sides of the border, so that they never dare do this again?
Have ANY of them come forward, apologized, taken responsibility for their long complicity? I've heard of no such thing. In fact, I assume that they will only raise the volume of their accusations against and vilification of Israel, to drown out the voices asking these questions.
In this tweet you can hear an interview (starting at around 35 seconds in) with one of the few foreign doctors, who had worked at the Shifa hospital, and who after Hamas' massacre, did not come forward with his testimony about what he'd seen and experienced while he was there, but did agree to have it recorded once he was asked to. If Hamas is finally taken down, we might get to hear more of these, and I guess... better late than never.
In the midst of all of this, Israel has helped evacuate babies from the Shifa hospital to ones in Egypt, and the equipment to established a second Jordanian field hospital has entered Gaza today.
Israel continues to be attacked by Iran-funded rockets from the south, from the north by Iran-funded Hezbollah, as well as from Syria, by the Iran-funded Houthis in Yemen, by independent terrorist attacks, and online from cyber attacks, by Iran-funded and even Iranian hackers. I kind of tend not to talk about these that much, because they're on going. It's happening every single day, and Israel, in the middle of the fight to destroy Hamas, has to also defend its people on these fronts.
The anger and hurt over the denial of rapes that happened as part of Hamas' massacre continues, and more people are trying to speak up against it:
youtube
This is 15 years old Itay Cohen.
He's a triathlete, and was in the middle of a training session, cycling in the south, when Hamas terrorists shot him. He was taken to a hospital without any family by his side, because his parents were locked inside a bomb shelter in their kibbutz. Itay took a bullet to the head, and lost his eyesight, but somehow survived. So did his parents. He vowed he won't stop training, despite his new disability. This terror attack has changed countless lives, from among the survivors as well.

I do agree that a part of the widespread Anti-semitism and disproportionate vilification of Israel specifically among white/Western Leftists is down to the fact that these white Western Leftists live in nations built on colonialism, are descended from perpetrators of colonialism and beneficiaries of it, that they rightly understand that this is unjust, they feel guilty for it, but they are not prepared to accept the loss of privilege and of their familiar society that would come with undoing it.
So they campaign relentlessly against Israel because it's far off, and Israelis and Jews are a tiny Other, and so they can try to assuage their guilt and prove how anti-colonialist they are without ever having to pay the price themselves, that they demand Israelis/Jews pay.
The irony of course is that overwhelming historical, cultural, and genetic evidence shows Jews originated in the Levant, as did Palestinians- both are descended from the Canaanites. And while I do not believe that any people should be forcibly expelled from their homes, Israelis therefore have a far greater claim to their country, than these white Western Leftists do to theirs'.

I had the pdf for edward said's "orientalism" downloaded to my computer, and I thought it would be a good resource to share, so here it is.
for those unfamiliar, "orientalism" by palestinian scholar edward said is an examination of the cultural relationship between "occident" and "orient," and how cultures deemed the "orient," often as a result of colonialism, are othered, often through fetishization or vilification. said examines the history of orientalism and how it manifests according to the various cultures it has been applied to, as well as how it impacts multiple intersecting social spheres, such as gender, race, and class, as well as how the "us vs. them" rhetoric of orientalism fuels multiple kinds of oppression.
I became aware of this text while studying literary criticism for my creative writing degree, and would advise anyone to at least skim it, if not read it in its entirety, especially if you have an interest in writing and literature, media analysis, or the social sciences. orientalism may be a concept that has existed long before said put a name to it, but reading this analysis of what it means, as well as its consequences, has allowed me to spot instances of it in present-day media, culture, and rhetoric, and given me the tools to avoid it in my own creative work.

It’s hard for me to pretend that the major reason why it was suddenly important for some to cast doubt on and mock Palestinian donations wasn’t that there were a few posts that were particularly upset—-rightly so—-that people that they are in contact with in a genocide were not getting support in proportion to the supposed ‘attention’ and vilification they were getting. It’s hard to pretend that on a site which has such a long practice of donation posts, where if one doesn’t want to get involved, well, simply don’t, tends to apply that this touched a nerve because of the rhetoric involved. That’s all. There is in truth no real reason these has to be held to a higher standard than the constant (I am not mocking these) existence of donation posts for people in the West, etc etc, many of which are also “scams” or certainly go ‘unverified’. They just got their feelings hurt; or maybe they found it ‘cringe.’
#saying this based on how often it is popular to mock such rhetoric or call it cringe etc#fucking ‘cringe’ my god

Pro-Israel ‘surveillance’ group turning attention to Australia, leaked posts show
"Naming someone online is not necessarily illegal, but Michael Bradley, a managing partner at Marque Lawyers, warned there were potential implications depending on the nature of the claims, such as harassment and intimidation or even racial vilification.
“Using social media as a mechanism for coalescing groups that want to engage in doxing activity, it’s obviously extremely powerful,” he said.
Last month, a Sydney resident named Theo had a picture of his house and his street address posted to a Facebook group.
Theo, who asked that his surname not be used, had raised a Palestinian flag and placed a blackboard with messages critical of Israel in front of his Botany home.
Less than two weeks later, a jerry can with rags stuffed into it, a disposable lighter and large bolts were placed on the bonnet of his car with a message that read: “Enough! Take down flag! One chance!!!!”
The incident prompted the deployment of the bomb squad and local police."

Always always always free Palestine
i ofc havent been active on here at all these past couple of months but i am online elsewhere and have seen the same horrific things as you have. i do make an effort on other platforms to share what i can and i do try to donate within my means as well.
i will always maintain the fact that this is not a war. it is not a conflict. it is an attempted ethnic cleansing of the INDIGENOUS palestinian people by a state founded upon the principles of settler colonialism and white supremacy. as if the past 75+ years of torment under israeli occupation havent been enough, the bombing raids since October the 7th have been reported to be the most brutal since it all began. the images and videos being shared across the internet are very real and beyond horrifying. the palestinian people do not have the time to grieve, they dont have the dignity of a proper burial. theyre forced to raise the bodies of their martyrs to the cameras and even then they're not believed.
the bombing raids alongside a complete blockade of any food, water and aid imports only solidifies what has been said from the very beginning. israel is constantly commiting war crimes on the palestinian people under the false pretense that they have a right to the land. Israelis have to steal palestinian homes because, "If i dont, someone else will" to quote one of them.
zionists constantly spread false information about palestinians and their resistance movements. some of the most blatant propaganda ever crafted and palestinians are still doubted regarding their plight. livelihoods are put at risk in countries that flaunt the principles of free speech. safety is jeopardised and palestinians and their supporters will always be villified no matter how careful they are with their wording.
there are no two sides. the attack on october 7th did not happen in a vacuum. its a culmination of 75+ years of corruption, vilification and gaslighting by israel and the west. you cannot condemn them without condeming israeli first and attributing fault to the vile regime.
as a muslim, my only comfort is that these people are incredibly strong in their faith. they are killed in their thousands but i believe that they will be among the very first to enter the highest levels of jannah. may their suffering not go in vain, may their oppressors be punished in the dunya and akhirah and may the people of palestine see justice in the dunya and akhirah and may allah help us all and grant us strength and protection from all evil as we stand with palestine. Ameen.

A Reminder:
This blog opposes collective guilt or punishment based on race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or national origin.
Accordingly, it opposes vilification, conspiracy theories, threats of violence, violent attacks, and other forms of collective punishment directed Israelis or Jews, including calls for the destruction of Israel. It also acknowledges that Jews are indigenous to the Levant, based on overwhelming historical, cultural, archaeological, and genetic evidence, and basic fucking sense.
This DOES NOT mean that this blog endorses collective guilt or punishment of Palestinians, denying that Palestinians are a "real" people or nationality*, attempts to portray all Palestinians, Muslims, or Arabs as terrorists, or advocating their destruction or expulsion from any territory.
In particular, any comments or reblog advocating or excusing the destruction or expulsion of any group of people based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality or national self-identification WILL be reported for violating Tumblr's policies against hate speech, and WILL result in a block, regardless of who does it or who it is directed at.
*I am aware that "Palestinian" as a national identity is fairly recent. However, new nations and national identities have formed throughout history. As far as a claim to being indigenous to the Levant is concerned, I am of the view that a land can have more than one indigenous group, that neither Jewish nor Palestinian indigenousness inherently invalidates the other. And while it is correctly pointed out that neither Arabic nor Islam nor the name "Palestine" originated from the Levant (Arabia, Arabia, and Rome, respectively), genetic studies trace Palestinians' ancestry back to the Canaanites, along with other groups.

Damning Report Exposxes Pro-Isra-hell Bias In Media's Gaza Coverage
— Saturday March 9, 2024 | Islam Channel
A damning new report lays bare significant pro-Israel biases in how the media portrays Israel's war on occupied Gaza.
Produced by the Centre for Media Monitoring (CfMM), the exhaustive 'Media Bias Gaza 2023-24' study scrutinised over 176,000 television clips and 25,000 online news articles in the month after October 7.
The report reveals a widespread pro-Israel bias that marginalises Palestinian perspectives while providing an outsized platform for Israeli state narratives, which is often deployed to justify its war on occupied Gaza.
The analysis found that emotive language highlighting Israeli suffering occurred 11 times more frequently than for Palestinian casualties. Harsh terminology was readily used for attacks on Israelis, while more passive phrasing downplayed Palestinian deaths, often omitting Israel as the perpetrator.
"Palestinians simply die as some headlines would suggest," says the report.
It says news coverage routinely framed Hamas's attacks on southern Israel as "Ground Zero with guests or commentators who try and explain the 75-year-old occupation of Palestine being accused by some presenters and columnists as justifying the attacks."
Most TV channels overwhelmingly promote "Israel's right" to defend itself, overshadowing Palestinian rights by a ratio of 5 to 1. “This biased framing contributed to a distorted portrayal of the conflict, reinforcing narratives that prioritised Israeli perspectives over Palestinian voices,” says the report.
These claims often fail to highlight that Israel is an occupying power "which continues land grabs and killings in the West Bank at the same time as it rains down bombs on Gaza," adds the report.
For example, out of over 98,500 mentions of Gaza on Broadcast TV channels, there were only 28 instances of the words “occupied Gaza” — with half of those on Al Jazeera English.
"Western Media Has Been Pro-Isra-hell, The Illegal Regime"
“Whilst the regurgitating of war propaganda designed to garner sympathy and de-humanise others has found a sympathetic ear from media outlets in the West, the evidence that we have gathered, shows unequivocally that the overall tone of coverage in the Western media has been pro-Israel," says the report.
"This is also a conclusion drawn by journalists and staff at some media corporations who have accused their own outlets of among other things “journalistic malpractice."
"Some observers have been less charitable and have accused media elites of being complicit in the killings of Palestinians and the failure to hold to account the Israeli aggression against Palestinians," adds the report.
Stark disparities emerged in whose perspectives were amplified. Israeli viewpoints outnumbered Palestinian voices by a factor of three on broadcast TV and two-to-one in online outlets.
A mere 24% of online articles mentioned "Palestine" or "Palestinian", instead framing the conflict as an "Israel-Hamas war".
"This skewed framing perpetuated a narrative that lacked crucial context," the report stated, "and failed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the conflict."
The findings suggest systemic biases favouring Israeli state narratives. Pro-Palestinian voices faced vilification, with allegations of anti-Semitism deployed to discredit support. The report says legitimate protests for a ceasefire by a cross-section of society were routinely smeared as "pro-Hamas" and violent by right-wing outlets.
"Pro-Palestinian voices face misrepresentation and vilification by media outlets, perpetuating harmful stereotypes, with allegations of antisemitism and terrorism weaponised to discredit legitimate advocacy efforts," it said.
More Findings! The Report Pointed Out Other Findings:
It slammed outlets for uncritically amplifying Israeli military claims, some of which have subsequently proven to be false. The report says Israel has a history of "falsehoods even before this current war and as recent as denying responsibility for killing Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in May 2022."
361 TV news clips used the terms “beheaded” AND “babies", with almost 50% on the two right-wing British channels Talk TV and GB News. Only 52 of the 361 showed any sufficient challenge, rebuttal or questioning of the claim.
The war has become a tool for mainstreaming Islamophobia, with many prominent media personalities regurgitating Islamophobic tropes.
Some media outlets and commentators positioned the conflict as being between Muslims and Jews, with opposition to Israel framed as anti-Semitic.
"While there has been a shocking rise in both anti-Semitic and Islamophobic hate crimes, the report tracks a hierarchy of racism when reporting on anti-Semitism and Islamophobia," said CfMM in its press release.
According to Rizwana Hamid, CfMM's Director, "As media organisations navigate this conflict's complexities, upholding principles of fairness, accuracy and inclusivity by ensuring all perspectives are heard is imperative. The evidence shows UK coverage has overwhelmingly been pro-Israel."
Lead author Faisal Hanif said: “In the main, Palestinians should be reported on as human beings with full unalienable rights as enjoyed by all peoples. This also necessitates how those rights have been curtailed in a forever war against them that has its origins many decades before October 7 2023.”
In a withering foreword, veteran reporter Peter Oborne highlighted "the counter-intuitive paradox that mainstream Israeli journalists have been more ready to tell the truth about the war in Gaza than their British equivalents."

Basically, throughout history, colonial and imperialistic forces have frequently employed tactics of dehumanization and vilification to justify their actions and consolidate power. These tactics often involve portraying indigenous populations or conquered peoples as inferior, uncivilized, or even dangerous. By dehumanizing these groups, colonial powers could justify exploitation, forced labour, displacement, and even violence. These harmful narratives didn't end with the formal end of colonial rule; they continued to influence perceptions, policies, and interpersonal relationships today. The legacy of these attitudes can be seen in persistent stereotypes, discrimination, and systemic inequalities that marginalized communities face worldwide. Furthermore, these dehumanizing narratives are not confined to the past or to specific regions. They are global phenomena that manifest in various forms, from media portrayals and educational curricula to political rhetoric and policies. The consequences are far-reaching, affecting everything from individual self-perception to international relations.
For instance, during the British Empire's rule over South Asia, Indians were frequently portrayed as primitive, backwards, and in need of British civilization. This dehumanizing narrative justified the exploitation of resources, imposition of unfair laws, and even famines that claimed millions of lives. The effects of this colonial mindset can still be seen in lingering stereotypes and power dynamics in the region.
Similarly, the French colonization of Algeria involved the vilification of Algerians as uncivilized and inferior to the French colonizers. This dehumanization provided justification for brutal suppression of resistance movements, forced assimilation policies, and economic exploitation. Even after the end of colonial rule, the legacy of these attitudes continues to influence Franco-Algerian relations and perceptions of Algerians in France.
In the context of Israel and Palestine, Palestinians have often been dehumanized and vilified, portrayed as terrorists or threats to Israeli security. This narrative has been used to justify military occupation, settlement expansion, and discriminatory policies that infringe upon the rights and freedoms of Palestinians. The ongoing conflict is deeply rooted in these dehumanizing narratives, making it difficult to achieve mutual understanding and a just resolution.
While formal colonial empires may have dissolved, the structures, ideologies, and power dynamics they established continue to shape our world today. Modern forms of colonization and imperialism often operate more covertly, but their impacts can be just as profound and far-reaching.
Economic imperialism, for example, is still prevalent, where powerful nations or corporations exert control over the economies of less powerful countries through debt, trade agreements, and resource exploitation. This can lead to economic dependency, unequal partnerships, and the perpetuation of poverty and inequality in the Global South.
Cultural imperialism is another form that persists, where dominant cultures or ideologies are promoted and imposed at the expense of local cultures and traditions. This can be seen in the global spread of Western consumer culture, media, and values, which can erode local identities and traditions.
Political imperialism continues to exist through interventions, influence, and control exerted by powerful nations over the political systems and affairs of less powerful countries. This can take the form of military interventions, political interference, or support for authoritarian regimes, often in pursuit of strategic interests or resources.
Furthermore, the legacy of colonialism and imperialism is reflected in persistent inequalities, racism, and systemic discrimination that marginalized communities continue to face worldwide. These inequalities are often deeply rooted in historical injustices and power imbalances that were established during the colonial era and have been perpetuated through post-colonial structures and attitudes.
-- thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Rereading Fanon’s speech at Accra in Ghana (March-April 1960) and I had completely forgotten that the French colonizers used the exact same argument as the Israeli colonizers. “They hate peace that’s why we have to fight them”
I love Fanon’s answer to that argument.
“No, the violence of the Algerian people is neither a hatred of peace nor a rejection of human relations nor a conviction that only war can put an end to the colonial regime in Algeria.
The Algerian people have chosen the unique solution that was left to them and this choice will hold firm for us.
De Gaulle said “We must break the Algerian people”. We reply “Let us negotiate, find a solution that is commensurate with contemporary history. But know that if you want to break the Algerian people, you will have to accept seeing your armies break themselves against the rampart of the glorious Algerian soldiers.””

Hen Mazzig recently made the statement that there is a new form of conspiracy theory, on or with Holocaust denial. That’s the people who deny that Hamas butchered, mutilated, and raped their way through Southern Israel. Eric Levitz is one r of those deniers. He teeeted,
Can anyone come up with another way that a baby loses their head?
I don’t care that this miserable excuse for a human apologized. Apologies from people like him are meaningless. His actions are what matters. He has been happy to be a go along to get along Jew, helping to keep the progressive lies going so he keeps his standing in the progressive ranks.
Don’t believe me?
Even though it was clear by 10/19, that the Al Ahli hospital incident was a fraud, he was still writing in New York Magazine that
He was still leaving open the possibility that PIJ wasn’t responsible and that it was Isrsel which was at fault!
But that’s not enough for this kapo. Nope. He has to go on and repeat the lies of Hamas. He writes,
He portrays what Israel is doing as indiscriminate attacks on civilians, relying upon Hamas and the UN, neither of which have had any problem lying about the facts in the past when it comes to Israel.
But let’s look at the history of Levin. He is a dyed-in-the-wool shill for the progressive cause. When Congresswoman Tlaib pulled out of a visit to Israel because the Israeli government, rightly, wanted to limit the harm she could do, Levin championed her. Portraying her visit as one where she would be open minded and concerned with facts.
Then he called out the media in 2021 for their bias. Why? Because it was hurting President Biden. Can’t have the party criticized, people might realize that they’re the problem!
To his credit, he did call out how progressives shouldn’t be supporting Hamas. However, being the kapo that he is, Levin can’t resist characterizing Israel as “neocolonial”. In the end he argues not simply that celebrating Hamas’ atrocities are immoral, but that it hurts the struggle against Israel.
By the end of the article, he abandons the initial thesis and turns this editorial into a. Screed about Israel, but not the Arabs, must be held to their promises. He only sees the celebration of Hamas as distracting from what he believes should be happening : the vilification of Israel and the continued hagiographiction of the “Palestinian” people.
So when he apologies for his horrific statement, essentially calling into question whether atrocities happened simply because he was not there to witness the beheading in real time, it’s a sham. Levitz wants to aid the terrorists in a way he thinks is better.
Levitz is every bit the ally of the antisemites, just as the kapos were every bit the accomplices of the Nazis. He just dresses it up differently. He’d rather be a good progressive than a good Jew, and definitely more than he wants to be a mensch.
Don’t accept his apology. His actions show it’s just words to mollify the crowd because he has no interest in changing.
