I’m going to say this with all the disrespect my body holds.

I have been in the book space for well over a decade, the SJM fandom for just about that time, so believe me when I say I mean what I’m about to type. If you are an American, or even someone abroad, and support Trump or the conservative push in anyway, you are not welcome here. If you are a part of the SJM fandom and support Trump (which yes means with a vote or just in general) you are not welcome here. The fmcs and the fcs that you love would hate you the same way I do. The mcs and book boyfriends that you love would hate you the same way I do. Books have and always will be political, that why people like Trump and Desantis and Hitler go after them and burn them. Those people prey on the ignorant and the unintelligent, and I fully believe yall are both. If you are upset by this post or the posts on booktok telling you, you have no place here then you know deep down you are wrong. And for everyone else who woke up devastated this morning, I’m sorry that we have to share this horrible reality, but I’m comforted in the fact that you are out there just as saddened by the turn our country has taken.

Idk why it took me this long to remember this but there’s a moment in QoS where Manon threatens Elide that if she’s caught spying on the valg she’ll celebrate her wedding to one, but in a scenario where Elide is actually sent to a valg Manon loses her shit and I think that’s beautiful

People who think this feels like a long wait between sjm books clearly weren’t here for the EoS(9/2016) -> getting the announcement that we were getting ToD, not Aelins continuation-> KoA release (10/2018)

We had to wait 2 yrs to know where Aelin was and what Maeve up to

Hi what do you think about the debate of malide vs manorian?

I’m a Manorian gal through and through but I won’t lie and say I don’t LOVE Malide. I’d have liked it more had the dynamic been more like Manorian/Elorcan with how Elide sasses Lorcan, we just didn’t really see that side of her with Manon due to the circumstances. Malide to me feels like they’d work better in a modern day AU (I can’t explain why it just feels right)

I still think Dorian/Manon are a better fit for one another in the context of the books with their traumas. How Manon says they’re both quietly angry and have similar “beasts” that gnaw at them and how he challenges her and isn’t afraid of her, how after the Valg he feels like Manon’s the only one he doesn’t have to play a part for.

Elide has trauma ofc, but a huge connection for Manon/Dorian is the things they’ve done, the people they’ve killed and lies they’ve been fed their whole lives.

Malide=opposites attract

Manorian=like calls to like

All in all, ship who you wanna ship and be respectful. I’m not opposed to a lil Manorian x Elorcan action (I don’t think they’d be either 👀)
