As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

As 2024 closes, I wanted to shout out all the artists who have made really beautiful and creative Eris x Alexius fanart this year. I wanted to put all the fanarts of them side by side to see for myself the creative, diverse ways that people visualize them. I have loved every depiction of them together, and it's been amazing to see how people bring out their different characteristics and personalities through their art. You all have made this fandom so special for me.

I also wanted to thank two specific artists who also created Alexius solo fanart as well: @queercontrarian with a sassy, fashion-forward depiction of Alexius in Summer Heat and @bonecarversbestie creating a sunny, happy blob Alexius. Both of these capture his essence so well in different ways and I cherish both of them so much.

Creating fanart for OCs, whether it's commissioned or through your own love for the OC, is an indescribable, amazing gift to the people who created those OCs. These two together felt like something that only lived in my head that I tried to convey through my words. You all brought them to life in a way that captured the magic I always pictured. So thank you so much for sharing your creativity and talent. Especially for drawing my precious Alexius. My gratitude is endless.

In 2025, I urge everyone to keep supporting ACOTAR fan artists, especially those who are in the trenches with us in this crazy fandom. Whether its sharing their art or commissioning them, all of them deserve our love. And if you have an OC, draw them or commission/do an art or fic exchange with someone to draw them. You won't regret it.

not to get all sentimental on all of you but i’ve dreamt of being able to make and share fanart that i’m proud of for over ten years, so to finally have the time and the motivation to make that dream a reality over this past year has been so fulfilling for me. looking back on where i started i know i’ve come incredibly far in the last year, and i am so excited to keep learning and growing as an artist. to everyone who has stuck with me and supported me in this progress, thank you endlessly 💘 here’s to another amazing year 🥂✨

Eris x Alexius (Male OC) - I commissioned this piece from @jadedbugart as a special holiday/Solstice gift to everyone who loves Erixius. She did a fantastic job capturing the cozy, festive, and cuddly vibes. Also I adore all the smokehounds! The painting on the wall was such a surprise to me! Check out under the cut for closer looks.

But seriously? What is gayer than having a painting of yourselves riding a unicorn? This made me so ridiculous happy! Jade basically made two paintings in one. She said it was inspired by @bonecarversbestie blob art of the same concept. For anyone not familiar with the lore, Eris and Alexius go on a mission to find unicorns on The Continent in my multichapter fic Pull Me in Deeper.

I love all the details she included. Alexius' jewelry (including his nipple ring and a ring that has the letter E!). The leather bands they exchange in PMID. And PMID being the book he's reading 😭. Their faces are definitely the best part though. Alexius is so cute and Eris has never looked sweeter. He's sleeps like an angel ❤️.

I love the details on the dogs! The three different breeds for smoke hounds is so clever and something Jade totally thought of on her own. I think it gives them distinct personalities. Meet Argus, Vana, and Brom.

I wanted to show a close up of the pajamas too. The pattern is stunning and I love that they match (check Eris' collar). Jade and I came up with a whole lore that Eris was definitely the one to pick them out because it feels old money fancy. And the tops have monogrammed letters.
