How High-Performance Stretch Film Transforms Shipping in Vietnam
Tumblr media
Efficient shipping is becoming increasingly vital in Vietnam's booming economy. From bustling markets to high-tech industrial zones, the need for effective transportation and secure packaging has never been greater. Enter high-performance stretch film—a game-changer that's transforming the way Vietnamese businesses handle shipping. This guide will show you how high-performance stretch film can enhance your shipping processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
The Basics of Stretch Film
What is Stretch Film?
Stretch film is a highly stretchable plastic film used to wrap products on pallets, ensuring they remain secure during transit. Its primary purpose is to hold loads tightly together, preventing them from shifting, tipping, or getting damaged. This makes it an essential tool in the shipping and logistics industry.
Types of Stretch Film
There are two main types of stretch film—cast and blown. Cast stretch film is produced using a continuous process called casting, which results in a clear, glossy film. It offers excellent clarity, making it easier to identify wrapped products. On the other hand, blown stretch film is manufactured using a blown extrusion process, resulting in a more robust and tear-resistant film with a matte finish. Each type has its own strengths and is suitable for different applications.
Key Attributes of High-Performance Stretch Film
High-performance stretch film boasts several key attributes that set it apart from standard films. These include superior stretchability, puncture resistance, and load retention capabilities. These features ensure that high-performance stretch film provides better protection and stability for your shipments, making it an invaluable asset in the shipping process.
Selecting the Right Stretch Film for Your Needs
Factors to Consider
Choosing the right stretch film involves considering several factors, including the size and weight of your load, as well as the shipping conditions. Heavier loads may require a thicker, more robust film, while lighter loads can be secured with a thinner film. Additionally, consider the shipping environment—will your products be exposed to extreme temperatures or rough handling? These factors will help determine the most suitable stretch film for your needs.
Environmental Considerations
In today's environmentally conscious world, opting for sustainable and eco-friendly stretch films can make a significant difference. Look for films made from recyclable materials or those that use less plastic without compromising on strength and durability. This not only helps reduce your carbon footprint but also aligns your business with global sustainability initiatives.
Cost-Effectiveness
Balancing quality with budget constraints is crucial when selecting stretch film. While high-performance stretch film may come at a higher initial cost, its enhanced durability and efficiency can lead to long-term savings. Invest in quality stretch film to minimize material usage and reduce the risk of product damage during transit, ultimately lowering your overall shipping costs.
Benefits of Using High-Performance Stretch Film
Enhanced Load Stability and Protection
One of the primary benefits of high-performance stretch film is its ability to provide enhanced load stability and protection. The superior stretchability and load retention capabilities ensure that your products remain securely wrapped throughout the shipping process, reducing the risk of damage or loss.
Reduction in Material Usage and Cost Savings
High-performance stretch film is designed to maximize efficiency, requiring less material to achieve the same level of protection as standard films. This reduction in material usage translates to cost savings, making it a cost-effective solution for businesses of all sizes.
Increased Efficiency in Packing and Handling
Using high-performance stretch film can significantly improve the efficiency of your packing and handling processes. Its superior stretchability and puncture resistance mean fewer breaks and interruptions, allowing for smoother and faster wrapping. This increased efficiency can lead to faster turnaround times and improved overall productivity.
Compliance with Vietnamese Regulatory Standards
Adhering to regulatory standards is essential for businesses operating in Vietnam. High-performance stretch film complies with Vietnamese regulatory standards and best practices, ensuring that your shipments meet all necessary requirements. This compliance helps build trust with customers and partners, reinforcing your commitment to quality and reliability.

The new route Russia is using to export its oil to China. Unfortunately global warming and the melting of the icecaps only benefits Russia geopolitically. What’s the big deal? you might wonder. A 10-day reduction in transport time is huge when it comes to the velocity of capital. Power accrues to the nations that control key maritime trade routes.
*
Between climate change and the new Cold War, the future doesn’t look pretty. China’s economy is imploding thanks to their reliance on a debt-fueled real estate bonanza, their misguided zero COVID policy, and Xi Jinping’s head-scratchingly bad policies (and of course, his consolidation of power). Siding with Russia was a huge mistake… Now China’s biggest export markets are trying to decouple or at least diversify away from them. Youth unemployment is so bad in China (21%, but possibly significantly higher) that the government has decided to stop publishing such data. The Philippines and Vietnam are pivoting toward the US. South Korea and Japan are putting their long, historical feud aside to join forces against China. Japanese military neutrality is over. Meanwhile a tiny island called Taiwan makes over 92% of the world’s advanced semiconductors and will likely be invaded in our lifetime. Will an (economically) weakened China make it more or less likely that Xi will invade Taiwan? (Strongmen facing a domestic crisis and loss of popular support do often start wars as a kind of “gamble for resurrection,” but Xi might have become more risk adverse as he observes Russia’s debacle in Ukraine. Plus, an amphibious invasion is logistically extremely difficult to pull off.)
Defense spending worldwide is skyrocketing, climbing back toward Cold War levels. The lines on the map are hardening, particularly in the Asian/Pacific theater and the European theater. A nuclear trifecta of Russia-China-North Korea is emerging. Yes, it is a marriage of convenience, but quite a dangerous one given that Russia will likely transfer technology (specifically, platforms to deliver nuclear warheads) to North Korea in exchange for Soviet-compatible ammunition/arms to use in Ukraine. I hate feeling like the world is a frog getting boiled but as I finish this 26-part BBC documentary on World War I, I can’t help but feel that the geopolitical situation is very unstable.
Oh, the madness of nation states! Wake me up when it’s over.

Top: GM XM-0111 Prototype Bottom: M-0110 Pre-Production model at a civilian air show
The 1959-1963 US Army FTV Contract (Flying Transport Vehicle) was a contract to make a squad-accessible, flying vehicle, nicknamed the Flying Jeep, as a concept. The program was proposed in 1958, and the first full-scale mock-ups were built in 1960. Flying prototypes were made by the final 2 contestants, General Motors, with the GM XM-0111A, and the Ford-Cessna XM-0110A. In the end, the GM prototype won out, being the "Flying Jeep" used in Vietnam, but later being phased out by the Huey helicopter as a better, higher capacity transport, with more usage options. The M-0111 (with models spanning from A to D) was produced from August 1961 (the first prototype, XM-0111) to December 1969, with the M-0111D being the last. A total of 5,260 were built across the four main variants. They are in common use today for transporting goods across inhospitable places like the bush, where they’re admired for their lightness and off-road capability (though they are more fragile and expensive to maintain than their traditional strictly-air counterparts). During army service, they did not require full trained pilots due to their low service ceiling of 2,000 feet in early models, though on the civilian market they are considered experimental light sport aircraft and require both a drivers license and a twin engine pilot's license. Around 800 are registered in the USA alone, with some still in military service in countries like Chile, Argentina, Panama, and Liberia, as light, short range military transports. The upper picture features the XM-0111 prototype, having just rolled out of the Michigan Buick factory for preliminary road testing, before being hauled to the nearby airport for flight control testing.

Can Foreign Invested Enterprises Distribute Pharmaceutical Products in Vietnam?
Currently, with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular, the research, production and import of Covid-19 vaccines are the matter that everyone is concerned about. On February 24th, 2021, the first batch of vaccine approved for import was transported to Vietnam by the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company.
Tumblr media
Facing this situation, a number of foreign enterprises have expressed their opinions on the limitations imposed on foreign-invested enterprises in the field of distribution of pharmaceutical products in Vietnam. Vietnam has reserved no commitment to open the distribution of pharmaceutical products service market and has not committed to opening the distribution of pharmaceutical products service market under any trade agreement or international treaty up to the moment, because the pharmaceutical sector is sensitive, directly related to access to drugs and people’s health.
According to the provisions of the law, “distribution of pharmaceutical products” means the division, movement and storage of pharmaceutical products from the warehouse of the manufacturer/importer of such products or from a distributor to the end user thereof or to a distribution point or between distribution points by means of various transport methods. For distribution services, in the WTO Commitments, it is clear that pharmaceutical distribution services are excluded from the scope of commitments for all modes of supply. In addition, Appendix 03 of Circular 24/2016/TT- publicizing roadmaps for goods trade and goods trading directly related activities of foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam, it is also recognized that pharmaceutical products are on the list of goods not entitled to distribution.
Regarding this issue, the Drug Administration of Vietnam expressed the following viewpoint: “The suspension of allowing foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam to provide drug storage and transportation services is to prevent the distribution of disguised drugs in Vietnam, contributing to health security and towards the professionalization of the medicine distribution system in Vietnam.”
Point c, Clause 10, Article 91 of Decree 54/2017/ND-CP, effective from May 8, 2017, provides for cases ineligible to distribute drugs as follows:
“10. The entities that are entitled to import but not entitled to distribute drugs and medicinal ingredients in Vietnam must do activities related to distribution of drugs and medicinal ingredients in Vietnam except for drugs and medicinal ingredients they manufacture in Vietnam, including:
c) Providing drug/medicinal ingredient transport or storage services.”
According to this content, foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam are not allowed to transport and preserve drugs, except for drugs and medicinal ingredients manufactured by that enterprise in Vietnam. It can be seen that the restriction on the right to distribute drugs to foreign-invested enterprises is aimed at ensuring health security, being proactive in drug supply and distribution, towards to professionalize the domestic drug distribution system as a foundation to support the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry and contributing to better control of drug prices in the market.

India's Non-Basmati Rice Supply Chain: Key Trends and Market Insights - Eurosun Global
India plays a critical role in the global rice market, not only as a significant producer but also as the largest exporter of non-Basmati rice. While Basmati rice has its own unique demand, non-Basmati rice supply from India serves the bulk of global rice needs, catering to diverse markets across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In this blog, we will explore the key trends and market insights shaping India's non-Basmati rice supply chain.
Tumblr media
Overview of Non-Basmati Rice Varieties in India
Non-Basmati rice includes a wide range of varieties, each suited to different climates and consumer preferences. Popular varieties such as Sona Masoori, IR-64, Ponni, and Matta rice are widely cultivated across regions like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. These varieties are known for their affordability, nutritional value, and versatility in dishes, making them an essential food staple in several countries.
The Non-Basmati Rice Supply Chain
The non-Basmati rice supply from India relies on a complex, multi-layered supply chain. It begins with farmers who cultivate the rice, followed by millers and processors who refine it for consumption. After processing, rice is transported to both domestic and international markets. The supply chain is supported by local traders, millers, logistics companies, and exporters who ensure the rice reaches global destinations efficiently. Key ports like Kakinada and Visakhapatnam facilitate rice exports to several countries.
Major Trends in Non-Basmati Rice Exports
In recent years, non-Basmati rice exporters from India have experienced significant growth, driven by increased global demand for affordable food products. Export destinations like Bangladesh, Nepal, and African countries account for a large share of the market. Additionally, emerging markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia have also contributed to this expansion.
The competitive pricing of Indian non-Basmati rice, combined with its reliable quality, has allowed India to strengthen its position against other major rice-exporting countries like Thailand and Vietnam. Leading exporters, such as Eurosun Global, play a key role in meeting global demand by ensuring timely delivery and high product standards.
Government Policies Impacting the Supply Chain
The Indian government plays a crucial role in regulating the non-Basmati rice supply chain through policies on minimum support prices (MSP), export tariffs, and subsidies. These policies have both positive and negative impacts on exporters. For instance, during times of domestic price inflation or shortages, the government may impose export restrictions to stabilize the local market. However, in favorable market conditions, government incentives help boost rice exports by subsidizing shipping costs or easing export regulations.
Challenges and Opportunities in the Supply Chain
Despite its global success, the non-Basmati rice supply from India faces several challenges. Weather conditions, particularly monsoons, can disrupt production and affect crop quality. Additionally, logistical issues such as transportation delays and inadequate storage facilities pose challenges for the timely delivery of rice to international markets.
However, advancements in technology, like automated milling processes and improved logistics management, are helping to streamline the supply chain. The growing adoption of sustainable farming practices and the introduction of organic non-Basmati rice also offer significant growth opportunities for exporters.
Conclusion
India's non-Basmati rice supply chain is a vital part of global food security, driven by increasing demand and evolving market dynamics. Non-Basmati rice exporters from India continue to find growth opportunities, especially as new markets emerge and the supply chain becomes more efficient. With the right combination of policy support, technological innovation, and sustainability, India’s position in the global non-Basmati rice market is set to grow even further in the coming years.

Paint Protection Film Market To Reach USD 739.40 Million By 2030
Tumblr media
Paint Protection Film Market Growth & Trends
The global paint protection film market size is expected to reach USD 739.40 million by 2030, registering a CAGR of 5.9% during the forecast period, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. The major factors for the growth of the market are increasing consumer awareness regarding automobile paint protection and high demand from the automotive industry.
Considering the trend from the recent past, emerging economies like India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam along with a few Central American countries such as Brazil and Argentina have been the crux of global automotive industry growth. The growing population coupled with industrialization has resulted in high income levels and rising standard of living, thereby increasing the demand for personal vehicles.
Paint protection films find their origin in military transport and defense applications and continue their use in these industries to date. Consumers believed in spending on repainting the vehicle instead of making use of paint protection films in the past. Over the last few years, this trend has been changing with the retailers and manufacturers of paint protection films observing considerable growth in sales. This is attributed to the added customer awareness through marketing and expansion into the OEM market.
The global automotive industry has been witnessing booming growth and profitability with annual sales reaching pre-pandemic levels in some regions. Typhoon Yagi: The Storm That Shattered Records
Typhoon Yagi, also known as Severe Tropical Storm Enteng in the Philippines, emerged as one of the most powerful and destructive tropical cyclones in recent memory. Striking various countries in early September 2024, Yagi not only set records but also left a significant mark across the region.
Tumblr media
Origins and Development:
Tumblr media
The genesis of Typhoon Yagi can be traced back to August 30, 2024, when a low-pressure area began to form approximately 540 km (330 miles) northwest of Palau. By September 1, the system had developed into a tropical storm, receiving the name Yagi from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). Initially, Yagi made landfall in Casiguran, Aurora, Philippines on September 2. As it moved inland, it encountered the rugged terrain of Luzon, which led to a weakening of its intensity. However, once it emerged over the South China Sea, Yagi rapidly intensified, fueled by warm sea surface temperatures and favorable atmospheric conditions.
On September 5, Yagi reached its peak intensity, with the JMA reporting ten-minute sustained winds of 195 km/h (120 mph) and a central pressure of 915 hPa (27.02 inHg). The storm’s intensity was further confirmed by the United States Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), which classified it as a Category 5-equivalent super typhoon, with one-minute sustained winds reaching 260 km/h (160 mph). This made Yagi one of only four Category 5 super typhoons ever recorded in the South China Sea, joining the ranks of Pamela (1954), Rammasun (2014), and Rai (2021).
Impact Across Regions:
Yagi's impact was widespread and severe. In the Philippines, the storm caused significant flooding and power outages, particularly in Luzon. The Hong Kong Observatory issued a Gale or Storm No. 8 warning as Yagi approached, leading to numerous flight cancellations and disruptions in daily life. In Hainan, China, the storm caused extensive damage, with power outages and infrastructure impacts being reported. The typhoon continued its destructive path into Vietnam, where it uprooted structures and led to power outages.
Overall, Typhoon Yagi resulted in at least 186 deaths, 901 injuries, and 171 people reported missing. The financial impact was staggering, with damages estimated at $9.33 billion across eight affected countries. The storm was particularly devastating in Northern Vietnam, where it became one of the most intense typhoons ever recorded in the region.
Meteorological Analysis:
Yagi’s rapid intensification was a notable feature of its development. Starting as a tropical depression on August 31, the system quickly escalated to a tropical storm by September 1. By September 5, it was classified as a super typhoon, demonstrating a well-defined eye and a significant band of strong convection. After its peak intensity, Yagi underwent an eyewall replacement cycle, which temporarily weakened it. Despite this, the storm regained strength before making landfall in Hainan and later Vietnam.
Preparations and Responses:
In the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 and No. 2 in anticipation of Yagi’s arrival. This led to widespread school closures, flight cancellations, and emergency preparations. Evacuations were conducted in high-risk areas, and the government implemented measures to assist affected individuals. In Hong Kong, warnings were escalated to Gale or Storm No. 8, resulting in significant disruptions to transportation and financial markets. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange halted trading, and the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge was closed to traffic.
Typhoon Yagi’s legacy underscores the immense power of tropical cyclones and the critical importance of preparedness and response efforts. Its impact on multiple countries highlights the need for continued vigilance and resilience in the face of such formidable natural disasters.
