Title: Bayonetta and the Cursed Forest

The night was thick with fog as Bayonetta stood at the edge of the cursed forest, her silhouette barely visible against the backdrop of twisted trees and creeping shadows. The air around her was cold, unnaturally so, and the silence that hung over the forest was oppressive, like the calm before a storm. In the distance, the moon was little more than a sickly sliver, its light choked by the dense, swirling clouds overhead.

Bayonetta adjusted her glasses, her gaze narrowing as she peered into the murky depths of the forest. The Witch Hunts of old had whispered of this place—a dark, forbidden land where even the bravest of witches dared not tread. But Bayonetta was no ordinary witch, and the rumors that spoke of powerful spirits and ancient sorcery lurking within only served to fuel her curiosity.

The forest had claimed the lives of many, but Bayonetta felt no fear. She was a warrior forged in the fires of the Umbra, a master of the dark arts, and the bearer of power beyond mortal comprehension. If there were secrets hidden in the heart of this cursed wood, she would uncover them, and if there were spirits that sought to challenge her, she would crush them beneath her heel.

With a graceful flick of her wrist, Bayonetta summoned her guns, Scarborough Fair, their silver barrels gleaming in the dim light. The weapons felt light in her hands, an extension of her will, as natural as breathing. She twirled them once before letting them rest at her sides, her lips curling into a confident smirk. Whatever awaited her in the darkness, she was more than ready.

The moment Bayonetta stepped into the forest, the atmosphere shifted. The temperature dropped further, and the air became thick with the scent of decay and damp earth. The trees loomed above her, their gnarled branches twisting into grotesque shapes, as if they were trying to reach out and snatch her from the path. The fog swirled around her ankles like a living thing, coiling and uncoiling with every step she took.

2B: Resonance of the Machine by Jade Gretz

In the stark, mechanical world of NieR: Automata, 2B stood atop a ruined skyscraper, her figure a solitary silhouette against the blood-red sky. The city below was a graveyard of broken machines and crumbling concrete, a testament to the endless war between androids and machines. But today, 2B felt a shift in the air, a ripple of something ancient and malevolent stirring from the depths of the past.

Descending from her vantage point, 2B's sensors pinged with activity. Her internal systems flagged multiple unidentified signatures converging on her location. With practiced ease, she drew her weapon, the blade humming with a lethal energy. The air around her grew heavy, the silence before the storm.

As she moved through the decaying streets, shadows flickered at the edge of her vision. Whispers, distorted and fragmented, echoed in her audio receptors. "2B… remember…" they seemed to say, the words scratching at the edges of her consciousness. She shook her head, clearing the auditory interference. There was no time for distractions.

Rounding a corner, 2B came face to face with a horde of grotesque, twisted forms. These were not the typical machine lifeforms she was accustomed to fighting. They were amalgamations of metal and flesh, their bodies contorted in unnatural angles, eyes glowing with a sinister red light. The sight was disturbing, a perverse blend of organic and inorganic, as if someone had taken pleasure in merging the worst aspects of both.

"Who are you?" she demanded, her voice steady despite the unease creeping into her circuits.

One of the creatures stepped forward, its mouth opening in a ghastly smile. "We are your past, 2B. The echoes of your forgotten memories. We are here to remind you."

With a swift motion, 2B attacked, her blade cutting through the air with precision. The first wave of enemies fell, but more kept coming, their numbers seemingly endless. She fought with mechanical efficiency, her movements a deadly ballet of destruction. Yet, with each strike, the whispers grew louder, more insistent.

With Dragon Age: Veilguard fast approaching, it got me in the mood to do a piece of Morrigan as we saw her in Origins. I'm not a fan of how the characters look in the new game, there is something too soft and clean with them, despite the increase in details overall, but I want to know where they take the story after 10 long years.
